just a patient in your family. All right, we're planned,
and please now to talk a little O K football
with our old buddy Cash Daniel. You used to have
you on every pregame show, and now you're like big
wrestling start.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
We don't get to see the much anymore. I don't
know about a big wrestling star yet, but I'm working
my way there. I appreciate you guys having me a man.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
So kind of update is where are you now in
your wrestling career?
Speaker 5 (02:14):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (02:14):
So we started off a couple of months ago, threw
me in kind of you know, learning, uh, learning on
the fly, a little bit still in training, uh, doing
all that. And then I we kind of had a conversation,
you know with me and Al and Doug Basha. We're
like we listening. We got a couple months left of training,
let's really polish this thing up. And also had like
a little minor tweak of an injury too, so nothing
too serious, but you know it was a good call
(02:35):
by everybody involved. And so we've now finished training and
now we've got some plans to make a pretty good comeback.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
We got something's got something something in the work. Something
cooking is the alreay. A scheduled date for your comeback.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
Dates has not been scheduled, no, but we have like
an idea maybe of like a general time you know
that we want to bring it back. So I don't
know exactly when that's going to be, but it's gonna be,
uh sooner than later.
Speaker 6 (02:57):
So well, before you got deep into the training and
had the tweak there, you did have a few nights
in the ring. I mean, I think last time you
were on the show, you'd either think you might have
been promoting the Pikeville show or it had just done it.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yep, I think we were promoting it.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
Yeah, I mean, we all know your story. You grew
up loving wrestling. How did it feel to get out
there in front of the hometown crowd and actually go
through and get in the ring?
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Man, it's crazy. So we did it at I can't
it's Appleatrim Wireless Serena.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Now.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
So back in the day when I was growing up,
one of the concerts in the fifteenth Region tournament and
all that stuff, it was called the Expo Center, And
so ironically the Expo Center was the first was the
first place I ever saw a wrestling match. So with
it being my first wrestling match there, it was it
was kind of surreal, but uh, you know, it was
great during Heillbilly Day, so everybody there was enjoying their
carnival rides and all the great food and got to
(03:42):
see some wrestling, and so it was. We made quick
work of of Tony Evans out there like we knew
we would, and got the win and got.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Out of there. But it was awesome. Man.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
It's uh, it's something that that brings me energy, is
something that brings me the same kind of feeling that
I had, you know, out there playing football. So it's, uh,
it's something you're all with, Jason, that's for sure.
Speaker 6 (04:01):
I was gonna ask that, with all due respect to
to the arena, it probably doesn't have as many people
as Kroger Field on a Saturday night, but you still
get that adrenaline rush just in a different way.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Yeah, absolutely, because it's it's the same kind of the
same kind of mindset you like, you have to perform
and everything is on you, and so yeah, it definitely
brings back that that mindset of Okay, now it's on,
we got to go, let's do this thing.
Speaker 6 (04:22):
And it probably I'm sure you've missed that juice a
little bit, probably probably fills that void a little bit
for you.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Absolutely, you know, it's something like I said, that's there.
There's no better feeling than you know, having that energy,
you know, and being able to go out there and
you know, put on a great show for people, because
at the end of the day, you know, there's so
many people that just want to be able to you know,
escape you know, their everyday lives for a couple hours
and go and be entertained, and so that's what we do,
you know, and it's it's a great platform to do it.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
It's the perfect mixture of uh.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Theatrics and athletic ability and sports and everything like that.
So I think that's why there's such a big draw
to it. You know, it's just because of how athletic
you have to be, but also at the same time
kind of throwing some theat aspects in there too.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
So we've all said, if there's one guy who's come
through here that is perfect for this kind of career,
it is you. I mean, you were made for you
even back in high school and you were talking to
your postgame trash sometimes, you were made for this role.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
I think I think we even solidified it right out
there when we had the infamous chokes you pick me
up and slamm me through a.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Table out there.
Speaker 6 (05:19):
To bring that up, I'm looking over Ryan's shoulder at
the scene of the crime, and then I'm looking at
you before you walked in. I watched the clip on Twitter.
In fact, I'll retweet it. Well, we can't do that again,
right Ryan? Was that a one and done?
Speaker 2 (05:31):
I look at him now, he is bigger, even bigger
than he was last time well time out now that
was against Florida a couple of years ago. Oh oh,
and I do believe we won that game. Drew.
Speaker 6 (05:43):
Yeah, and he's been training Ryan. He's even better now
than I.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
Got it even downpacked even better now, right, you know what?
That was the last SEC home win I think was
against Florida that day.
Speaker 6 (05:52):
I don't think it's a question anymore. You know, Cash,
Ryan and I had to sit down with a very
high up person at iHeart, we had to meet him.
It was a big deal.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (06:01):
Ryan had a little product in his hair. It was
a big meat.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
He took a shower shade.
Speaker 6 (06:05):
Point of story is a big meeting. But the guy
was asking us about the pregame show, like here, you
guys like to have fun. You get him fired up, Like,
what's an example of that? And I pointed Ryan and
I was like, well, former player put this guy through
a table. And he just looked at me like what
do you mean he put him through a table. So
that was our way of introducing Ryan to one of
the higher ups that I heart just a few weeks ago. Too.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Well, I guess the people going right, he does his job,
will it's right? Are you gonna be here for the
pregame show Saturday?
Speaker 2 (06:31):
I didn't plan on it, but I'm gonna say I'm
hiding if you're coming here.
Speaker 6 (06:34):
Oh, I thought you're committing to it right here. I
thought we were gonna get it. We gotta beat Florida.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
If it would guarantee you win, I would like it.
Pash slam me through the table one more time, one
more time if we do it before during the pregame
show on Saturday, which is what three thirty to five thirty?
Can you make it? I can make it?
Speaker 6 (06:52):
Mario, you got a table? All right? It looks like
we have all the pieces we need.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Didn't we have someone actually go and find a table?
Speaker 6 (06:59):
Yeah, I think they did. I think a listener brought
us the table.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
That was hilarious.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
All Right, I'm gonna add it to my to do list. Ryan,
I'll be something about seven pm as I'll make sure
we have a table.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Cash bought it up. That's the last time Kentucky won
beat Florida. Last SEC home win was against Florida. So
when this is the kind of redoing the whole thing,
I think.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
We got to re relive the moment absolutely, kind of
see if magic strikes twice.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
You know, yesterday we were talking about would you like
not watch an entire basketball season to win a championship
in the sacrifices that sometimes fans have to make, and
would you do this? Would you do that? You've had
one pop up right now.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
That's true.
Speaker 6 (07:31):
You have the keys to the Florida win.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
I'm a little heavier. I was a couple of years ago,
but you just said I'm a little bit, a little
bit bigger. Everything evens out.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
I'm sweating now.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
I think it's gotta have it.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
It's gotta have Hey, just tuck your chin. You'll be good.
You told me that before you right before you pick me,
to go tuck your chin. Boom, pick me up, slammy
in the table, and.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
Now after he probably has more tips that he's been
through the whole school.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Yeah, all right, let's do it. Let's do it. Let's
do it.
Speaker 6 (07:57):
Can't wait, Mark pregame face behind this. Can we got
to get the table. I don't think Mario was here
when we did it. Mario has never seen it. Yeah,
all right, well this is a good show.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
What are your thoughts about the UK football team. You've
seen him so far this year?
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Then, uh, you know, I'm sure I'm in the same
boat with a lot of people. It's definitely not where
we wanted to be. But at the same time, you know,
coming off of last week's win against Auburn, you know,
you definitely see some bride spots, you know, for the
future of the program. You know, I think Cutter Bowlie
looks great. You know, I think starting out, you know,
obviously he had some had some time to really come
(08:31):
into his own, you know, back there at the quarterback
position and really understand what it takes and what it
means to you know, be the captain of the offense
and be able to go out there and put guys
in position to go out there and score, but you know,
at the same time, you know we've had our struggles,
you know, on all phases of the ball. But at
the same time, you know this is a this is
a team that doesn't quit. You know, they're a tough
group of dudes. And if one thing I know about
(08:51):
Coach Stops is that no matter how dark it gets,
you know he's not going to quit and he's not
gonna ask players to quit.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
So I don't know if you saw the broadcast after
the game, but he seemed very emotional pride, especially in
that locker room. We all know the losing streak been
a long time since they had won an SEC game.
When you were there, you went through highs and lows.
How does it feel when you do get that off
your back, when you've been in the lows and people
are doubting you, and you might even be doubting yourselves
in the locker room, to go and actually get the
job done.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Man, it feels like a thousand pounds gets lifted off
your shoulders, you know. And I was so happy to
see Coach Stoops be able to, you know, be vulnerable,
you know for a second, you know and understand that
you know how how many of these wins. You know,
what they mean to him in the program and to
the team in itself, and what a kind of a
confidence booster that can be within the locker room and
you know, really rally guys together to be able to
(09:37):
finish this season out strong. You got a great opportunity
this weekend with Florida and for the rest of the season.
We have another great opportunity to potentially you know, what
is it six? We have a if we went out,
what is our record?
Speaker 6 (09:47):
If you went out, you get seven? You can still
lose one to make a ball.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Okay, see there you go.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
And so I would say after a week three, week
four of this year, there was a lot of people
thinking that's not even possible. But you know, there's a
re and while there's twelve games and twelve opportunities to
go out there and you know, and do your best.
But they have a great opport like I said, a
great opportunity this week, great opportunity for the remaining of
the season. So you know, hopefully they can rally together,
you know, and understand that, you know, this is time
(10:12):
for us to go out there and play for each other,
and you know, get this thing done.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
There's been a lot of talk, you know, about Mitch
Barnhart maybe having to make a change as the coach.
A lot of fans want there to be a change
in coach. How does that affect you guys in the
locker room? I mean, do you hear it? Do you
pay attention to it? Or because Stoops is kind of acknowledged,
he understands why the fans are frustrated.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
Yeah, well, I mean it's in this day and age,
it's it's impossible not to hear it. You know, with
how big social media is, you know, and everything involved
in college athletics today, there's no escaping unless you literally
turn your phone off and only talk.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
To people within the facility. There's no escaping.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
And Coach Stoops and the guys understand that, you know,
they understand that fans pay good or hard earned money
to and watch them play, and they expect to win.
But I can promise you there's nobody that expects to
win more than the guys in that locker room. And
you know, at the end of the day, you know,
I think in my personal belief that Coach Stops has
done one of the greatest jobs in Kentucky football. History,
(11:16):
and I'm obviously the most winning is coach in our program,
and I think that there's not a lot of people
out there that could have done, you know, what he's
done here, and so I know that, you know, it's
very frustrating for fans this season, you know, maybe the
season before, last couple of seasons has been you know,
not where we want to be. But at the same time,
you know, you've got to be able to, you know,
trust in the leaders that make those decisions and at
(11:39):
the end of the day, they're going to try to
put the best eleven guys out there on the field
and put the team in the best position to go
out there and win.
Speaker 6 (11:46):
He needs to get one at home. He even said
that after Saturday. That was one of the first things
he said his postgame interview is this is great and
I need one in Lexington. But winning on the road
looks pretty fun.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Oh yeah, it's just you you're in enemy territory.
Speaker 6 (11:58):
It's like in the flight home.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
Yeah, I mean, that's that's we I personally loved away
games because you know, Stoops always painted a picture for us.
It's like, you know, it's like special Forces, like, you know,
we're going behind enemy lines, like it's just us. There's
there's nobody else, It's just the guys on this plane,
the guys in this room to go down there and
do a job that we know that we can do.
So lock in, dial in, whatever you got to do
(12:20):
to come back on that plane ride and have one
hell of a time coming back, because those those are
the things you remember, you know. I mean I can
still you know, I talked to some of my guys daily,
CJ Conrad, Greg Carr, Courtney Love, Tanner, Fink and all
those guys that I had roomed with, and we always
just talk about, you know, the the the bonding experiences
that we had of you know, going to the movies
before the games, or the locker rooms after a big win,
(12:40):
even the locker rooms after a big loss, you know
when you need your brothers to pick you up, and
especially those plane rides back home. So yeah, that's that's
definitely one of the one of the finer moments in
a in a college football player's career.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
Before you got here. I remember when they broke the
streak of not winning away games at South Carolina and
some of the seniors were like, I've never been on
a happy plane ride. I've been here four years and
this is the first time we've partied on the way home. Man,
there's stoops has made that a little more common since then.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Absolutely, there's there's nothing worse than a plane ride after
a loss. I mean, because everybody's just sitting there quiet.
You know, you're you're in your head of like, what
could I have done better? What we could have done
better as a collective group. But then when you win,
you know, winning fixes everything. Amen, I mean that's at
the end of the day, winning fixes everything. So I mean,
I'm excited for the guys, this opportunity they got this weekend,
and so hopefully they can leave Krogerfield with the same
(13:28):
feel and they had come back from Auburn.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
He is Cash Daniel or He's gonna be here taking
some phone calls if you want to get on board
and ask him a question about the cats eight five
nine two O two two eight seven. We do have
the radio heavyweight champion here. He's not even chimed in
about his wrestling experience.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
I've been away since May, so it's been a while
since I've been at o WW.
Speaker 7 (13:46):
Maybe you should just come back with Cash, you know.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
Hey, you mean, there's always an opportunity. You can always
you can always jump on the bandwagon.
Speaker 7 (13:53):
Let's go, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Jump on the cash manag after he breaks my back
on Saturday throwing into the table. All right, well make
or break come back. Go back to ponline eight five
nine two eight two eight seven. Ryan Drew and Channing
with Cash Daniel. This is can taking sports radio. Ryan Leman,
here can take a sports radio. Ryan Drew Shannon with
Cash Daniel. This is your buddy, right.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Yeah, that's my buddy, Luke. Yeah, thank you guys for
playing him. I know that, I know it meant a
lot to him. You know, he's one of my best
friends I grew up with since painful and uh I
get to see him, you know, every other week or
every week now, So it's awesome hearing man KSR.
Speaker 6 (14:27):
I like this Luke Tremble. Yeah, make sure we get
his full name out there.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Yeah, he sounds like Tyler Childers. I mean you listen
to him, that's he sounds like Tyler.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
So I mean obviously, you know, uh, we all come
from the same area. You know, before Tyler really blew up.
You know, I'm and I couldn't mistaken Chili, So don't
don't get mad at me if I say this wrong.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
By the way, that's that's his nickname. We call him
Chili Chile.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Yeah, but uh, I'm pretty sure Tyler taught him a
little bit, you know, how to play, and so I
know that he gets a lot of inspiration from you know,
so many great musicians from our area, and so you
see the the kind of the new era. You know,
musicians coming from from Easter, Katucky, like like Luke and
Cole Cheney, and you know the guys from Leslie County,
the Creakers, they sound.
Speaker 6 (15:05):
About to bring them up.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
You've heard of them?
Speaker 6 (15:07):
I play them NonStop, The Creakers get ready for the crew.
I don't like that their best song is called Tennessee,
but I'm playing it all the time.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
They're great, really, okay.
Speaker 6 (15:17):
I'm glad. I was literally gonna ask you if you've
heard of the Creakers.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Absolutely, that's so Shannon will play them maybe next segment.
Speaker 6 (15:22):
Play Tennessee. I don't like the name of the song,
but it's a good.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
So it's a good song. The Creakers, they got a
couple they do know.
Speaker 6 (15:28):
I just played the whole I just tell you know
where they're.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
From Leslie County, Leslie Ken them.
Speaker 6 (15:34):
How about that, try to get some merch. We gotta
work on their merch. But they're the net. They're they're
gonna blow up. Yeah, they're already kind of blowing up
on TikTok.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
All right, we'll play that one next in soil Shannon. So,
who's this segment? Sponsored by by the Way.
Speaker 3 (15:44):

All right, we got I have breaking DraftKings news, Breaking
Draft Kings.
Speaker 7 (16:30):
Do we need the sounder?
Speaker 6 (16:31):
Yeah, it's big news. It was just announced that DraftKings
is now the official betting partner of ESPN, which had
ESPN Bet. I guess that means ESPN bet is going
away and now ESPN is copying off KSR by partnering
with Draft Kings. Wow, it's it's a big deal in
(16:52):
the media world. You know ESPN and they're doing a
lot of moving shaking in right now. A lot of
people don't love that, but I would assume ESPN bet
out Draft Kings.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
In so all those commercials we saw with Stephen A.
Smith and they kept running in the ground about ESPN
bed or gone.
Speaker 6 (17:07):
It's just us talking here, right Yeah, ESPN bet was
never gonna work. That was a bad idea from the
beginning it. But that's big news though. It's all over
the sports internet world.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Well. Cash Also, we have a listener who is bringing
us a table for the pregame show Saturday.
Speaker 6 (17:21):
We might have a couple I have two textures.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
So really, well, maybe we need to break a couple
of tables.
Speaker 6 (17:27):
Are you volumeteer, like off the top of the chaos bar.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
You can do one, Matt can do one, he can
cat Cash can throw us all around. Then Saturday, this.
Speaker 6 (17:37):
Is all on you. Matt and I have bad backs.
We're very open about our bad backs. We go to court,
physical therapy is this is yours, this is what you
have to do.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Here's from the Avis a Gvice text machine. Ask Cash
if he thinks what UK football is missing is tough
kids from our state like him landing in Drake. I
think that is part of the problem. Tough ass dudes
in the trenches who love this program.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
Know, man, I really couldn't tell you, you know, I know
that the mindset that you know that we had coming
in as Kentucky kids was that, you know, we really
just want to put on first state that has been
so good to us. And so I think you're seeing
that with Cutter right now. I think he understands the
opportunity that he has, and I think he's really come
(18:20):
into his own as a leader out there, you know,
staying in the pocket, you know, when there's pressure, learning
from his learning from his mistakes early on of you know,
throwing the ball away when he's supposed to. But you know,
at the end of the day, you know, from my
mindset of football, of of how I viewed it was
that I have an opportunity that there's millions of kids
(18:41):
across the globe would kill for, and so I'm going
to take every advantage as I can to go out
there and do something that I know is not going
to last forever and be able to put on for
my state and my university that has enough confidence in
me to allow me to come to school here and
you know, put that Kentucky across my chest. So there's
obviously some pride, you know, in there that you have
(19:03):
to have to be a team that truly cares about
one another and truly cares about the program as a whole.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
Florida's down a little bit this year, but that logo
still means a lot. And you were on the team
that ended the streak. Yep, consumed my whole life and
the whole lives of many people listening that in streak
felt like it was never gonna end. In Stoop's credit,
he didn't just snap it. He kind of flipped it
the other way for a little while with them coming
to town now in Kentucky. Even though a couple point underdog,
it's still big opportunities. We've said, just how big is
(19:33):
it to have like an SEC logo like that, regardless
of the personnel, just a big team like that coming
in and especially when you get the job done.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
It means a lot.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
I mean, you know, like you're saying, with that logo,
there comes a lot of history with that, and so
obviously breaking the streak in eighteen and then the big
win at home a couple of years later, and then
going back to the Swamp and having a big game
and winning there. You know, like you said, we kind
of flipped a table you know on Florida for a
little bit there, and so it's always great, you know,
to beat the Blue and Orange down there intellection, no
matter where it is. And so, uh, like we said
(20:02):
a thousand times before, you know, another big opportunity for
them to come in and uh, you know, come out
with a big SEC win and that means a lot
to the program, That means a lot to them moving
forward for the rest of the season. So I expect
to have you know, a to see a dialed in team,
understanding that the opportunity that they have in front of them,
and being able to come out and execute and get
the job done.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
So that's what we're expecting.
Speaker 6 (20:23):
You mentioned you've been really busy training and you had
gone through a little bit of an injury. Uh, it
looked like you've been working out a little bit too.
Have you been able to telgate at all? I know, uh,
two or three seasons ago you had the RV your
big Tailgator once you were stepped away from football. But
have you had a chance this season?
Speaker 2 (20:36):
No, not really.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
I went to I went to the opening game. Uh,
tailgated for just a little bit. You know, I've kind
of I've kind of divorced myself from the game a
little bit, you know, and really understand of what I
like to do in my free time. You know, working
a full time job now, you know, you only get
so many hours to do exactly what you want to do.
So I really prioritize, you know, obviously, my training. Uh
(20:58):
prioritize you know, being with my family, being with my friends,
and being out in the outdoors. I mean that's something
that I've really gotten back into and something that brings me,
you know, joy, something brings me peace, and something that
you know, I always always look forward to. So if
I'm not working, working out, training or wrestling, you can
find me in the woods, that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Eight two two eighty seven we got a collar again
on board. So who we got, Shannon, Let's go to Austin. Austin,
you're only Cash, Dan, you'll go ahead.
Speaker 8 (21:24):
I've got a basketball question for you guys, But shouln't wait?
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Or is that Cash knows basketball a little bit?
Speaker 6 (21:31):
All right?
Speaker 8 (21:32):
I've just got a question for you guys about Pope's
decision to not start Aberteing the other day at point guard.
I feel like when we started the game, I thought
it would be pretty obvious that that would be the
best move for the team to start Aberding. But unless
he didn't say he was putting him on some kind
of minutes restriction, but for some reason he didn't start him,
and then afterwards said made a comment about how he
(21:54):
should have started him all along, and I don't understand, like,
do you have any insight to why he didn't go
with Aberdeen tow unless I feel like that was pretty
clear for you know, appreciate.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
The phone call. I mean, I think it's kind of
just kind of easing him in, kind of get baby
steps back in there. You know, he had been out
of practice, so he had been running with the ones
at all for a coup for a week or so.
So I think it I think it was I think
it was probably the right move, kind of bringing in
gradually and then let him get his legs underneath you
and then go ahead and start him the second half.
Speaker 6 (22:24):
I agree, you only get so many chances to see
what you have with Chandler and Jasper Johnson, so going
into it, I mean, he probably didn't expect the first
half to be that poor, but you least want to experiment.
Especially Aberdeen, as you said, had missed a week of practice.
It's a growing issue where issues were coming and going.
You're playing nickels. So I think Pope just wanted to
see what he had right there with the other guys.
But then once he saw it was like, all right,
(22:44):
tell him to get Aberdeen back in that natural spot.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
Got another one from the Vision Glass text machine. Ryan
ask Cash about UK hockey. He's been a big supporter
for years.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
Yeah, I love the guys that were at the hockey club.
Man they're they're great dudes, you know, and they've always
treated me well. You know, Ryan, the GM over there
does a great job with them. Uh coach especially does
a great job with those guys. Actually, they work out
at one of the gyms that I work out here
in Lexton too. Uh so I could see those guys
a couple of times a week. But hockey's awesome.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Man.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
If I know that hockey's not real big in the
South unless we're on it, like in Florida, but if
you're in the area, you should definitely check them out.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Ryan drew Shenning cashould be right back. This is Kentucky's
Ports Radio.
Speaker 7 (23:26):
T J Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make
them pay.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Speaker 7 (23:34):
Here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
So this is the Creeker. Yeah, Creakers from Leslie Counts.
It's a shame the podcast. I just won't be able
to hear it because this is really good.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
I mean, you have to tap your foot.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Yeah. So they they've been around for a while. Are
they kind of new on the scene? Kind of new
on the scene a little bit.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
I'm not sure, you know, I'm not sure how long
they've been playing together, but I know that, like like
Drew said, they've been blown up on TikTok recently and
so shout out to hide in Kentucky.
Speaker 6 (24:04):
I'd say they've been a regular in my house for
about six months. I don't know their backstory, but when
Real Bird put out the lineup, they're on it. They're
they're in the small font on Sunday. But I was
just excited about them as Childers. They got them on
the same day.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Coming Real Bird.
Speaker 6 (24:17):
Yeah, this in June. Nice, big fan of the Creakers.
Still learning about them, but that's the one I like
the best, even though it's called Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
H Shannon, who's this space? Oh you're doing the sponsorship?
Who's this segment sponsored byke?
Speaker 6 (24:27):
Well, you're gonna have to hand me your phone or
email me because I don't know, Shan.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
You got one handy bit. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
I like how we were really prepared for this. I've
got some exciting news from our friends at Cornbread. Have
They just opened up a brand new retail store right
behind their production facility in Louisll, Kentucky. And you can
take a tour and see firsthand how they make their products,
meet the folks behind the scenes and purchase your favorite selters,
sleep gummies, oils and more. And if you've never seen
how they're infused gummies are made, it's about see now.
(24:54):
If you're close enough to visit the facility, you can
buy products in person, or you can always go online
CORNBREADTHEMP dot com and for KSR listeners, you can get
twenty percent off your first.
Speaker 7 (25:04):
Order with promo code ks R.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Again, that's code KSR twenty percent off your first order
CORNBREADTHEMP dot com.
Speaker 7 (25:11):
This is the good life, Cornbread HEMP.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
All right, here's another text from the Avian and Glass
text machine. Does Cash wrestle under his name or an alias?
And where can we find a schedule of his upcoming events? Uh?
Speaker 4 (25:23):
No, so I'm wrestling as Cash Daniel nice yep, And
uh like I said that, we don't have a We
don't have a schedule yet of when I'll be back.
But when I am back, you know you can catch
us every Thursday at hot Point. David Serena there in Louisville.
I believe it's off Shepherdsville Road. Legendary promotion. You know,
had guys like John Cena brock Lesner, Battista, Randy Orton,
(25:44):
Cem Punk. The list goes on and on, and my
picture is going to be hanging above them all.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
Oh at the top, I think the dude's picture.
Speaker 7 (25:54):
No, it's definitely in there.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Yeah, it's somewhere.
Speaker 7 (25:58):
Yeah, they got like a bigting of me back there.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
Okay, I want to get back in the reads of
football a little bit. I got a question for you.
I know you can under you can help me understand.
You're a defensive guy. We had this awesome defensive game
against Texas, hold them to sixteen points, Tennessee lights us up.
And then we had this awesome defensive game last week
against Auburn. What happened in the Tennessee and why you
(26:22):
had these two great defensive games sandwiched around a bad
defensive performance. What's the answer?
Speaker 4 (26:27):
Well, I think when you look at the Tennessee game,
you know, correct me if I'm wrong, But going into
that game, they were the number one offense in the nation,
really able to move the ball vertically down the field.
You know, I think this quarterback that they have, you know,
compared to last year with Nico, just by watching it,
you know, I think he's able to really be able
to push the ball vertically downfield better than what Nico could.
(26:50):
You know, at the end of the day, I think
it just comes to a matchup thing that we had
a couple bust of coverages. So communication is very key
out there of understanding, you know what your job is,
you know who you're working with, who you're not working with,
being able to communicate with the defensive line, you know,
making sure that they're in the right spots and the
right gaps and doing the you know, their job correctly.
So there's so many different things that go into that. Uh,
(27:11):
but I would say overall, communication and every other defensive
guy that knows this will tell you that communication is
the number one factor out there for you guys, whether
it be verbally, whether it be nonverbally. You know, for
coach Wahitt used to tell us all the time. You know,
if if cover three comes in, like from the from
the sideline and everybody understands it, or let's say cover
(27:32):
three comes in, but you see the wrong signal and
you call cover four, as long as everybody's on the
same page, you'll survive the down There's no such thing
as a magical defensive play call. Because at the end
of the day, you know, you're just adjusting off of
what the offense does. You're reading your key from your
position and understanding, Okay, now if he does X, Y
or z, I have to do X, y or z
compared to you know, what he does on the offense
(27:54):
side of the ball. So, you know, I think overall,
you know, maybe the Tennessee game was just one of
those bad communications games, and you have those, and so
I think moving forward, knowing Brad White and his defense
and his staff in the way that they communicate with
the players and really understand of you know, what your
job is, play in and play out. You know, I
think that you know, what we saw last week, you know,
was a great defensive performance down there in Auburn. It's
(28:14):
all the week and build that momentum back, you know,
and really be in that stonewall defense that you know,
Kentucky's really known for.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
Correct me if I'm wrong, But weren't you on the
team when Brad White came in as a linebacker coach?
When he got there, did you see like, all right,
this guy could be you know, long standing SEC defensive coordinator.
Was it that type of thing? Because he came in
as a position coach from the NFL. If I'm not mistaken, yep,
came from the Colts.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
So we had Matt House is our defensive coordinator. Matt
House actually was the one who actually taught me how
to play linebacker and how to and how to effectively
play defensive football. But when coach White came in, not
not only did I think that he could be a
long standing decordinatory SEC, I think Brad White could be
a DC in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
That's just how smart this guy is.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
I mean, if you're able to go into a meeting
room with him and listen to him break down film
and saying this works here because of this, and why
this doesn't work here. It's it's a work of art.
I mean I used to be mesmerized by like, how
in the hell did he think of that?
Speaker 2 (29:12):
You know? Or what did he see? You know?
Speaker 4 (29:14):
And so you know that really trickled down to the
player's aspect, and so really able to hone in on
there's a difference between watching film and understanding what you're
watching on the film, if that makes sense. So you're
seeing down in distance, you're seeing the position of the
ball where it's at on the field, how much time's
left the personnel, where the running backs lined up at,
(29:34):
where the tight ends lined up at, if there's a
split off into the boundary, you know, and you're kind
of playing process of elimination out there. And so that's
what really helped the game slow down for me was
that being able to go out there, look at the formation,
understand the down and distance, where the sticks are, what
situation that they're in. You know, maybe they just came
off of a big penalty, maybe they just got backed
up off of a off of a holding call or
(29:56):
something like that. So there's so many different things you
need to watch on film to be able to understand like, Okay,
I've seen this before. It helps me slow down and
makes me allow allows me to play a lot faster
and more confidently as well.
Speaker 6 (30:07):
So I just know from the media standpoint of Brad White,
you know, we interview all the coaches and on the
offensive end, there's been quite the carousel. But he even
in across most sports in Lexington, just when he's answering questions,
it's probably the level of detail you are good. You know,
it's not a secret you can ask questions in media
you're gonna generally answer they don't want to be there.
We get it, we know how it works. But Brad
(30:28):
White has always been good about just explaining things. And
you know, he's not perfect, he has his flaws, but
I've always enjoyed just hearing from him on our end
because we're not allowed in the film room, et cetera,
so just in our ins is with Brad White. I
like how he explains his defense even you know, some
people don't love that he's not blitzing as much. You
can pick stuff like that, but I mean, the guy
knows ball and knows how to explain it. And as
(30:48):
a media person, I enjoy hearing from him.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Eight five nine two o two two eighty seven. Who's
the next caller? Shannon's going to Dan? Dan? You're only cash, Daniel?
Go ahead, Dan?
Speaker 5 (30:58):
How you doing as doing good? I'm calling you from Sydney, Australia.
It's three thirty or three forty here, ain't it's Friday.
I'm still in the Eastern Standard time. We appreciate you
asking for you Cat. Yeah, My question for you is
(31:19):
next year, what's starting from UH number one? What what
positions are we going to have to recruit starting you
think next year, because I think this team is underrated.
I think this team has a lot of coherence together.
These guys are tight. I think that's going to go
a long ways and I still think that we could
(31:42):
have a five hundred season. I want to keep Stoops here.
So what positions do we need to work on next year?
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Dan? Thanks for calling in, Bro.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
You know I'm not on the recruiting trail, so I really,
you know, really couldn't pinpoint it for you. But I
think the first thing that needs to happen is we
got to keep cutter Bowl and lacting.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
I agree with that.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
That's the number one The number one priority is keeping
him here. You know, young talented athletic kid who understands,
you know, what it means to play for Kentucky and
have that fire about him to put on for his
home state. I think that's very vital of keeping him here. Obviously,
you know we can, you know, we can you know,
beef up the offensive line a little bit. I think
(32:25):
there's nothing wrong with ever, you know, adding more to
the trenches than what you have and then you know
that's this is why you know, everybody gets paid the
way that they do to go out there and find
these players. But you know, it's it's so different nowadays
and how recruiting is, and you know, compared to when
I was there, which comparing it to how it was
then and now it feels like it was like twenty
(32:46):
years ago. That's how big of a jump it feels
like it's been so I mean, the way that I
understand the recruiting now is it's it's all about you know,
it's not about going somewhere that'll set you up for
the NFL, you know. I mean, I'm trying not to
say that, you know, this stupid wrong thing here, but
you know, at the end of the day, it seems
(33:07):
like most kids nowadays are going where the money is,
you know, and that's just the reality of college athletics
at this point. But at the end of the day,
you know, you've got guys in position to, you know,
make things happen and get kids here to understand that
this is the type of ball that we play, this
is the type of standard that we have, and so
no matter how much we're paying you, we expect you
to live up to that standard.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
I may vision the glass tape machine. I named my
son after cash Oh met him in Austin City to
tell him really enjoy when he's on man. That goes
along with what I was gonna say, you missed the
inn il era. You could have become a very rich
man during the in il era if it was around
when you played all of eastern Kentucky. Well, you had
been advertising everything. Yeah, I'd be fishing somewhere on a
(33:50):
boat right now if i'd had that, that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
But you know, at the end of you would have
had a fishing endorsement. I would I'd like to think
I would have. Oh yeah, maybe maybe a Marino would
have spun from me and give me a boat.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
Car dealerships all all eastern Kentucky, every one of them.
If they wanted to wrap that thing, we'll wrap it.
Speaker 2 (34:06):
I don't care. Put your logo right there.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
We'll go fish tournaments, We'll we'll go do uh you know,
meet and greets at the bass pro shops or whatever
you want. That's finaling me as long as I get
to fish.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
For a living.
Speaker 6 (34:15):
Now, there's a few guys who just missed that window.
You're always in the conversation. I've talked about this with Benny,
Benny just missed it. There's some basketball guys that would
have done well, just just n of course, it's just
unfortunate how the calar calendar landed, and a lot of
guys took advantage of the chaos the last couple of years.
That won't be the case forever. Some guys just got
stupid rich being having good timing.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
We got one more segment to go, so we'll take
our final segment, come back and wrap it up with
Cash Daniel. But we want to hear from you. Eight
five nine two eight oh two two eight seven. It's
eight five nine two cats, Ryan, Drew and Shannon here
with Cash Daniel. We be right back. This is Kentucky's
Port Radio. Is this another Oh that's just that's just
Diamond Rio, Yeah, Diamond Rio. Yeah, not the Creakers.
Speaker 7 (34:57):
We already heard from the Creakers.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Yeah. Well up this morning. Who's the second with Thoughter
by Drie Singer Drew over there.
Speaker 6 (35:06):
It is sponsored by our friends at Shady Rays. Thank
you for texting me the script. I had to scroll
past all these pictures of tables to look at it.
You have a lot of tables you're going through. You
also need to stop overpaying for sunglasses when you go
through table, Ryan Lemon, are you tired of buying expensive
sunglasses only to lose them, break them like a table,
or worse, you never even wear them because you don't
want them to get dirty. You need Shady Rays. It's
(35:26):
independent American owned company that started in Kentucky. They have
premium polarized shades for every activity from running, fishing, biking, golfing,
you name it, from tango free aviators that won't get
stuck in your hair. You hate it when those glasses
get stuck in your hair right, oh my long hair.
I hate it to the color rush lenses that I'm
ow the yard in. They provide ultimate color enhanced visibility
for every member of the family. They can find the
(35:47):
perfect pair. Shady Rays offers the best protection in the
industry with lost and broken replacements.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
So take it.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
Take on your next adventure with the team that has
your back. That's Shady Rays. Back to you, Ryan Limmon,
and we are.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
At Bespoken Spirits tomorrow, Shannon. That's over a Gray Line station.
You guys will be doing the pre show there and
then Matt'll be back to do KSR right after. You
guys are doing is.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
One O one West Loudon Avenue. That's the address.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
It's awesome. We've been there a couple of times that
we have a good crowd there, so we enjoy it.
One more text from the Avy's and Glass Tex Machine.
What's Cash's go to karaoke song? Oh, that's a good one.
Speaker 6 (36:17):
I've seen you on stage at Austin City at Timber two.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
I call you out. There's there's a co may not.
You know. Sometimes you get some of that little liquid
courage where you can the vocals come out.
Speaker 6 (36:25):
It's a good place to do it.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Yeah, it really, it all depends on what I'm feeling
that night. You know.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
Sometimes we'll do a little Garth Brooks Friends in little places,
maybe a little bit of Roley Green, maybe.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
Some Tyler Childs. You just never know. You never know
what it's gonna come.
Speaker 6 (36:39):
Out now, you never know what's the ron woman karaoke song?
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Oh Wagon Wheel, Darius Rush I sing it Dallas Blue
Gown the track get on stage with those guys and singing.
So earlier on the show we were talking about Matt
Drew's Madisonville Maroons. I looked up your Paintsfield Tigers five
and five this year and they play at Williamsburg in
the first round of the playoffs. We think about your Tigers.
I man, it's I'm not really kept up with them,
(37:04):
you know, And that's that's on me. I really should
be a better alumnus and keep up with what's going on.
But you know, it's, uh, you know, Paincil football has
always been something that you know, I hold close to
myself and all my buddies. We still talk about, you know,
the Friday night lights that we got to spend with
each other. So you know, hopefully those guys, you know,
really take advantage of what they have with them and
(37:25):
playing for your hometown and uh, you know, going out
there and you know and making a name for yourself
and putting yourself in a good position to go far
in the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (37:31):
So I wish nothing but the Tiger's the best. I
believe Coach Melvin there is the head coach now. So
good luck to coach Melvin and all those guys, and
you know, go get the win down there in Williamsburg.
Speaker 6 (37:41):
People like you that find success at the next level
and having a great college career, you always hear them
talk about still those high school days. That's what it
was the best.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
That's the that's the greatest. I mean that's because that's
what the guys you grew up with. Yeah, I mean,
right for the guys that you know, you knew from
grade school all the way up until now. You know,
you played little league together, you play you know, junior
pro basketball, flag football and all that good stuff together.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
So it's it's a it's a bonding kind of thing.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
And so you know, being able to go out there,
especially playing for a small you know, hometown that you have, uh,
you know, there's nothing better. And so, uh, like I said,
me and my buddies and know, whenever we get a
chance to get together, there's always some sort of conversation
of you know, what the Friday night lights was?
Speaker 2 (38:18):
I mean you can even ask.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
So there's there's been you know, NFL players talk about
they've played in you know, Super Bowls, they've played in
Pro Bowls, but there's nothing like playing in front of.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
Your home crowd on a Friday night.
Speaker 6 (38:25):
So what was that famous interview you did? Did you
punch in a two point.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Conversion and shout out your offensive line or something?
Speaker 6 (38:30):
I remember that going viral.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
Yeah, that the big boys up front, I mean, if
it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have had to drive
to get in the end zone. So big shout of
the guys up front, that big.
Speaker 6 (38:38):
In your recruitment.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
You try. That was everybody's introduction to Cash Daniel. Was
that interview he did after a high school game. Yeah,
after you hit a two point conversion. They didn't give
me time to calm down. They grabbed me right after.
Speaker 4 (38:49):
You know, we were riding pretty high, so I didn't
get a chance to calm down and really collect myself then.
Speaker 6 (38:54):
So painting, I think that was the first moment people
were like, is this guy gonna be a wrestler because
you kind of had a little bit of a promo
in there.
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Absolutely, I guess this guy insane? Who is this cat?
Paintsville is one of those cities that has produced a
lot of great athletes. Yeah, they're trying to think about football.
You and Joey Couch basketball, John Pelfrey j R. Van
Who's baseball? Johnny Lamaster played in the big leagues forever.
I mean, the guy's got a little wealth of athletic
talent come out of that little town. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
Absolutely, I mean it's like, guess, like you said, very small. Uh,
you know a lot of towns that you can talk
you're very isolated. You know, there's not a lot there,
you know. So what we find pride in, you know, obviously,
you know, sports being an outlet for us, you know,
and giving us an opportunity to you know, branch out
in our lives and you know, be able to you know,
make it bigger than you know where we're at at currently,
(39:40):
you know. So you know, athletics has always been a
big part of my life and so many other people's lives,
like you've said back in Paintsville. So yeah, been a
lot of great athletes come through the that's for sure, Brian.
Speaker 6 (39:49):
We're getting closely into the show. I don't want to still.
I know you got a list, but people have wanted
me to ask if you've paid any more YouTube streamers
since the last time we heard from you yesterday.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
I didn't watch any streaming last night, so no no payment.
But tomorrow, if I'm sitting there watching the UK game
and I dial up that guy's stream and he's got
his cash app going there, I'm gonna bry me send
him a couple more. I feel like it's like a tip.
Speaker 6 (40:08):
We towed out yesterday. He's been watching internet streams that
are illegal, but he's not just watching them cash apps.
The person put it on so they'll say his name,
who's your favorite streamer?
Speaker 2 (40:17):
Right? Well, I don't know. I haven't ever done it
till last night, d'uring the Kentucky basketball game. But this
guy was streaming it. He was giving his own little
commentary and he was scrolling his cash app. And he's
been like, well, I'll give him some money. Because every
time you gave him money, he'd shout out the person's name.
You know, Hey Cash, thanks the donation, Hey Drew, appreciate that.
Hey Ryan, I got you, buddy. I wanted to hear that.
So I gave him some money and I probably will
(40:38):
Friday night tomorrow night.
Speaker 6 (40:39):
Also, this is why we love Ryan Cash. He's currently
hosting a radio show that God knows how many people
are listening to. But the satisfaction he got from a
teenager on YouTube saying thank.
Speaker 2 (40:49):
You Ryan, it's just more. Look at him.
Speaker 6 (40:51):
He's so happy that this kid said thank you.
Speaker 2 (40:53):
He's just paving it forward. Man.
Speaker 6 (40:54):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (40:55):
He's doing me a service. He's doing me affairs morning.
If he was giving me my dinner as a server.
I'm gonna tip him. He's giving me the game. I'm
gonna tip him. I almost texted you yesterday. Alan Culer
said my name and his monologue. Do I owe him money?
Do you have Allan Color's cash app? Is this what
we do?
Speaker 6 (41:09):
We just pay people who say our names?
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Well, yes, have they say it on the on the
streaming services? You do?
Speaker 5 (41:14):
Sure?
Speaker 6 (41:15):
Well, I'm excited to see what you tipped tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
