Speaker 1 (00:00):
And now an exclusive interview with David Bassey or Dodger Talk.
I am here with the man that has put together
a team that has won back to back World Series
championships for the first time in twenty five years. That's
Andrew Friedman. We've talked to the players. Obviously, they love

(00:21):
each other. What can you say about these group of
guys that.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
You believed in. I gotta tell you, we didn't play
our best series, but it speaks to the character and
the fight in this group to just find ways to
win baseball games. The defensive plays at the right time,
the big hit Miggey Road tonight in the ninth inning.
There were so many different things throughout this series where

(00:44):
in the big picture we didn't play that well, we
didn't play nearly up to our ability, but those big
swing moments we showed up. And it was that calmness,
that presence of mind that winners have, and this group
feeds off each other and they're desired bring that championship
trophy back to LA and back to back years. Was
so strong and we saw it and felt it throughout

(01:06):
this series.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
You led the charge two off seasons ago to sign
Yama Moto.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Did you know.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
He did you even know he was this type of
guy that would go and do something that we haven't
seen since Randy Johnson in two thousand and one.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
No, I mean yesterday morning. I didn't know this about Yama.
Last night after the game, I got a text that said, hey,
Yama's preparing. He's getting treatment now, He's preparing and doing
everything he can to be ready tomorrow. I was like, yeah, yeah,
that's great, like, I love to compete whatever. Today there's
another text he got treatment again and he thinks he's

(01:43):
going to be ready, Like wow, okay went on catch
play that. I feel great for him To have as
good as stuff tonight as he had last night is
maybe the most incredible thing I've ever seen on a
baseball field.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Last year, you did it with relief pitchers. This year
you did it with the majority of your incredible starters.
How were you able to get so creative, to be
able to be so nimble in this series?

Speaker 2 (02:09):
And we've talked about this, there's a lot of different
ways to win, and for us, it's leaning into whatever
our team's strengths are and figuring out how to maximize
that and our starters. I mean, what Snell did what
Glass did. Glass has never gone back to back what
he did tonight. There are so many incredible moments throughout
this Yama's obviously going to outshine it in a lot

(02:32):
of ways with what he did. But what Glass did,
what Snell did, I can't say a show. It was incredible.
Those starters are so talented and they put themselves in
position to be the guys that we wanted to use
in Game seven.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
You're so invested in your players and your coaching staff
and everybody on your staff. Back to back World Series
Championship champions have not been done in twenty five years.
How does it feel for you after it's all said
and done, that you guys are going down in history
as one of the greatest teams ever.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I gotta tell you, going through this year, I feel
it even more of how hard it is. It is
incredibly difficult. So I get why it hasn't happened in
a long time. For me, the relationships, the amount of
time we spend away from our families, the work, the
grind for everyone. That is where the satisfaction for me

(03:24):
comes is all the people that we work so closely
with and for them to have this joy us to
have it together is everything.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Have you held the trophy yet? Not yet? When will
you do it?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
I'm letting everyone else touch it.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I'll get a hold of it at some point, once
I'm alone time with it. I do.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
I do.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Congratulations you are You're really special at what you do.
Los Angeles is very lucky to have Andrew Friedman. Thank you, Dave.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
I really appreciate it.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
