LA Sports and streaming on the iHeartRadio while it's.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
The longest running afternoon sports show in the city.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
No congratulations necessary. All traces of Fred Rogan have been removed.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
This is petros In Money, Thank You, Thank You, hosted

money Smith.

Yeah, follow the petros In Money Show wherever you get

Speaker 3 (00:40):
There's something addictive about secrets done to us.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Petrosen Money and five seven LA Sports live everywhere on
the iHeartRadio app. And I will say, we did see
when they stole the car pee that there were two people,
so that is a legal ride in the carpool lane.
You will not be tickling.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
There's two.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
There's two in there.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Well, they are on the carpool four oh five north.
They hopped on the four oh five at Wiltshire and
are headed north in this sedan, this silver sedan now
on the showholder of the carpool lane rolling in the
su Pulvita Pass here headed towards the one oh one,
(01:24):
maybe even the one eighteen headed towards four oh five
oblivion really.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Right, And I mean, how do you how do you
make that turn out of the one oh one, knowing
how congested that can be unless you just pull that
hard right and do the double middle fingers.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Yeah, and the one on one south is going to
be better than the one on one north, but not mine.
That's mine. So I don't know, Matt, I don't know
how long you want to stay with it. Can we
have some sound on it? Ronnie on the Fox eleventh.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
It's one of the better chases we've had in a while. Later,
I mean, think about how he navigated Beverly Hills in
West la.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
For Yeah, that's what I was just thinking. This guy
knew mid City, he knew Beverly Hills, and he was
ready for Olympic. He was ready for Wilshire. It's the
things we dream being able to cut the city, driving
hard like the boulevard like that. Now they're in Sherman Oaks,
headed down the hill.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
You go to fill the vehicle to must left for
the full tank.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Must the level the full tank. Matt, you just heard
that guy sounds like an AI boy.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
If it can happen, how bizarre it is, it's going
to happen here. And we've seen last.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Week drived in Mexican pursued us very very did they
ever get her?
Speaker 5 (02:29):
And the conclusion also.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Was the one that was spearheading that.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
As we know, as we've watched these for so many.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
To follow up on whether or not the Lady two
hour drives, they're just referencing it right there.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
We're not going to make it to that, Matt. We've
got a lot to cover.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
Five through the SA Valley and he could happen, I know,
but we picked up on it. But hopefully we.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Got Don McClean waiting to come on. I mean, we
got a lot.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Of d Don loves the car chases, and.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
But he's not going to be able to see he's
up and spoke here.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
Yeah, this is I wouldn't say it's a pursuit anymore
because what is no vehicles. There's no police vehicles, no
higher pertron or l A p D.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
Those guys just hauling ass for no reason, chasing we're HD.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
So he's saying the tops are backed off. So what's
the point. You've got a helicopter on it.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
But there's no going on the shoulder.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
But as we see, there are no ground units.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
No ground units.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
If this continues, the new traveling up the freeway heading
to UH.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
It sounds like this guy wants to get to a
lunch date.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
County.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Well, I know you guys got me contacted any time
you call. You know, required contractually required to be here.
But boy, this is on the vehicle, A waste of
my time and I feel like I could be over
the next.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Three hours, but we might have to go into a
monitoring mode. I'm not ready yet.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Chasing the media is chasing uh.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
I mean it's he's driving, yeah, right on that shoulder.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
And they may have abandoned. This may have just been
totally abandoned for whatever reason. The vehicles on the run.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
This guy's going and they already let him go.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Right monitoring, that's why we're getting his seed.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
But well, it certainly picked out and wants to black
and white.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
This guy feels like you're right, Matt, like he's got
an appointment to get to right. He wants a man.
I don't know why we're still doing it.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
So this could go on for the next three hours,
probably talking about two miles.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
In five We do want to remind people that if
they're driving on the road or walking along the street
and they do see something like this happen, to not
get involved in any type of pursuit like this.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Don't be the sac That was what you were saying,
Matt Trish and talking now it feels the same.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
Way or exactly driving erradically. We don't want anyone's lives
or or safety to be in jeopardy.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Are this guy's on the shoulder.
Speaker 5 (04:44):
It's a good reminder for people.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Got a full can of fresco, feel free to just
kind of whip it right there at the window.
Speaker 5 (04:49):
Or or sometime some type of want as we're following
right here, but clearly it could be well we all.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Have wants and needs, traall love that and hes want
for an open carpool later to.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
The public out there, because they could be armed.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
They could have been involved in some kind of a
situation where they have a weapon. It's possible to jeopardize
your safety.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Well, the weapon they have right now is that carm
these situations.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
But that was that big ass pickout that was trying
to squeeze them out. That led to her sayings.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
One of the most bizarre when wealthy.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Here a big truck with the monster truck guy.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
I mean, it's hard to steal in Sherman, oh plowing
through the four oh five North.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
That's what we see. They were initial units involved, but somehow.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
They green there from the catering truck.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
All right, we're trying to get Yeah, what what Optricia
went from LA.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
We've got one shut off to the freeway, so you
would have one day by the Worthies, lap Need, Beverly
Hills or Hpree.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
We don't have anyone, that's right.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
It is what is meeting will be like with the
program correctly episode the delivery a little tired and it
sounded like you wanted to get the.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
Hell out of being stolen stolen car.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
We knew that.
Speaker 5 (05:58):
Thank you Dennis for.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Bearing Bisnis has a late lunch.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
This But clearly there is a reason why this vehicle
is opposing a threat right now because of the erratic
driving that we saw earlier, and thank you chasing you
want in this case being a stolen vehicle.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Again with the want right, So I don't know what
to say except we could follow it forever and not
know what's going on.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Thanks Dennis, and I'm not going to do that.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Really unusual to see something like this normally.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Are you talking about We see chases all the time.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
The capture. There's no chase, there's just a car driving
and it's no law enforcement behind.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
So, well, there's a helicopter.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
I've never seen one to this degree, but obviously something's
going on. We haven't been informed of what's going on.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Yeah, we do know. I can tell you this, Dennis,
that there is an LAPD helicopter overhead.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
So that's pursuit. Thank you, Dennis.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
Driver. For some reason, again, the initial information that we
have is a stolen vehicle. However information they have we
don't know at this point. But right now getting officers
are following and keeping eyes on this vehicle. So there
is a certain reason why they continue to.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Very cute out of Dennis Zion and showing the American
politician La City.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Council five Burbank bullet.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
LAPD years looks like it getting off on Burbank Boulevard.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
Yeah, see what happens boulevard right here? Getting off the freeway.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
And burbank is kind of your power move if you
don't want to get off vehicle on the one O one.
What happens if it's too backed up and you can't
cheat your way into there, you end up getting off
at Burbank Burbank Bullet taking that windy ass road.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
A lot of traffic.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
There's a lot of traffic on Bank Boulevard. A lot
of traffic here a ton as we right there almost
getting bullowed over by the mult truck for most of.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
That time, no rue Multi following the silver color Sedan.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Burbank was one of those great shortcuts prior to ways
ruined it.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
There was some reason for the people that.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Didn't know that. Yeah, the one O one exit.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
It looks like abusing X commercial right now, streaming all
the cop almost trying to bollow him and straight out.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Okay, see right there, see Dennis, But see why you
stick with.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
It in terms of nour on the wrong side of
the road, the cops on the wrong side of the road.
Comp is in pursuit?
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Mind, you know what it was. I've got pissed at Dennis.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
Let's see if they I'm there.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
You say I'm not in pursuit, Dennis, Yeah, I was
just lagging a little bit.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Now that now we're up to seventy on Sepulveta we
saw earlier.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
I think that I think it's pronouncedata Pulvita.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Correct, Sorry it is.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
I think that's highway patrol Okay, Dennis, Okay, so how
patrols engage?
Speaker 5 (08:49):
Thanks Dennis.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Yeah, the guy's going sixty down the center divider on Sepulveta.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
Right there, picking up speed and then now stuck in traffic. Wow,
it was head to headwalk vehicle thankfully not to share.
But yeah, now trying to get away from all.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
That dazily delivery.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
Off the freeway, as I recall, they seemed off the freeway.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Now we're in.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
Man, it's the trill unit.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yeah, I mean, who are we to step design? But
come on, sign get it together.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
Man, like we were saying, right, I mean, I think
we can both agree that no two pursuits are ever
the same, whether we want to call this a pursuit,
a following an interest, a following interest in the lap,
but clearly we don't following.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
I guess following.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
We saw a black and white behind this carjuring it
is not so ChB.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Maybe what happened to the highlight patrol guy for whatever reason, dude,
what's going on?
Speaker 5 (09:57):
We just see it going along its way horse the
laws as they're.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Rick right there in a CHP unit made a U turn.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
He's coming up on Chef Medita.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Starting to follow the car. And now, I mean, I've
never seen it like this before.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Dennis, What do you mean you've never seen it like
this before? We watched this all the time, twenty eight
years on the Force. I've never seen it.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
It is.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Oh, there's a good Sweet James commercial.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
There terminates the pursuit that it's by the billboard suit
stopped initially.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Never know which one is going to get all one
of his face right through this happens street.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
This is kind of like it's see they're going to happen,
and it's it's in between.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
It's in between what Dennis, in between in.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Between the pursuit and no pursuit, and that there's no
other units around in the area that you mentioned, So
there's got to be something very unusual, whatever the case
may be. Maybe there's a you know, someone's life in
danger and this is just part of the equation.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
But what whatever, what someone's life in danger not engaged,
they're going to freak knock him out.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
And let's be clear here, the media doesn't make up
these follows or pursuits either. It's not a media pursuit.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Yeah, Dennis is acting like an idiot. You're having to
correct them all over the place when it comes to
now we're in a parking lot, Matt, clearly you're gonna
shoot through this lot and go loop back around just
in this.
Speaker 5 (11:19):
There's a reason why our choppers are overhead as well.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Listen, he may know mad St Lapd, he may know
Beverly Hills.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
You don't know what's going on out there.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
You don't know what the hell is going on in
the eight one eight.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
He's lost on Van Ohen and a patrol vehicle.
Speaker 5 (11:32):
Oh, there's a couple three three black and whites now
behind this car trying to figure out a way to
stop this person. Oh, driving on the wrong side of
the street.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Is this her first chase?
Speaker 2 (11:46):
You know when he got into the parking lot, you
could have boxed them in.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
It started in Koreatown. Yep, here we go, full on pursuit.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Now they're coming into Yeah, thanks, a lot on pursuit.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
It's what we like to call a.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
FIP, A lot of them.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
I'm sure you have two and this is the most
unusual I've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Oh, come on, ever, we saw a freaking semi do
a three point turn in the middle of a desert road, which.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
Is a good thing because you say you want to
work as a team, you want to work with you
know what the situation is when you you follow a
suspect like this, right, whether the person's armed, whether someone
else isn't that?
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Do you want to do the number of the day
and we'll do the song and then come back. We
got to talk to Don McClain.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
No, I'm not going to get in the way. I
know what the people want and they're going to get
pissed off if they hear my number of the day.
I see I seed my number. It comes to something
like that to Tanaka.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Another two minutes.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
I'm good with that.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
But Ronnie's got to do his song.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
That's fine. Ronnie will not see his song to the chase,
which is perfectly understandable.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
At this time. It's like back and forth because you
don't buy the evasive right.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
I recognize the limitations of my number that I put
together today. It is evergreen. I can deliver it tomorrow.
There's no question on the road, but I'll deliver it
to somebody in the.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Absolutely maybe Monday.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
Take a look at this vehicle from one end, damage
on the right front bumper as well as.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Right front bumper. We got it. Stolen car, we get it.
We saw it in mid city, yes, and now they're
in Van. Eyes.
Speaker 5 (13:13):
But we've been watching the silver color sedan for quite
some time with the hazard lights on.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Well you appreciate that. Thanks for putting on the houses.
So I know you're a.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
Hauser here, so you just never just it's the blanker,
not the hazard.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
The person behind the wheel and what they're doing and
why left turn signal wipers a person is going because
this vehicle did go on to the fural fot.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
We don't know where they're going either.
Speaker 5 (13:39):
Into the San Fernando.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
I guess they don't know where they're going.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
From Burbank to now Van.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
They're just driving.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Man. So LAPD is now broadcast units on their frequency. Okay,
Dennis pursue, there's now being broadcasts on the police.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Oh yeah, I guess what. So it's freaking the scanner
LA Stanner.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
So they are broadcasting to the units.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Okay, ven I D Yah LAPD LAPD Melley Division.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
That's right, and so we just saw head. We know
that their units involved pursuing the silver colored sedan right
here in the Van Nuys area. Make it.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Can you turn down that scanner a little bit now
in and out?
Speaker 5 (14:18):
And we've seen erratic driving at times.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
She's got to talk over Dennis's at night. Hey, turn
down your scanner, dude.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
Pie traffic and patrol vehicles. So let's see what happens.
We don't know in terms of it.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
He's just trying to get it. You remember like when
we would interview people and the handler would want the
interview to end and they would just start pushing phone buttons.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
Oh you think that's what he's doing.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
That's what he's doing. He's like, Hey, they clearly did
not get the hint that I want to get out
of here. So I'm just going to crank the scanner vehicle.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
So the reason for the pursuit is a stolen vehicle
reported stolen.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Yeah, we had that like twenty minutes ago, Dennis.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
This guy is terrible to get away from someone.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Channel E love it sucks or KTLA is way better?
Speaker 5 (14:59):
All right? Stolen vehicle pursuit water sucks an hour at
this point we've been following this driver make its way.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
All right, we got it. We gotta break Jim. All right, Ronnie,
you want to do it? All right, let's do it.
Dub this song of the day.
Speaker 6 (15:21):
Yeah, I mean, with something like this going on, it's
a tough call, but I think we made the right one.
The late surrealist film director, artist, singer and musician David
Lynch recites our song of the day called football Game
a real crunchy groove for a Thursday afternoon flex alert
(15:43):
right here on the Petros and Money Show for a
quick three hour detour into the lush aro matic budding
fields of great sports talk is underway Great sports Talk
as we target the NFL and a fancy Thursday night
foosball matchup featuring the New York Jets and New England
Patriots in Foxborough. Handing it off to Westwood one is
(16:05):
what we'll do with their coverage. They are excellent coverage
that begins at the top of the five o'clock hour.
Thank you for being here.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
They got stuck on the side there, Matt Yeah, Van Owen,
like we said, anything can happen, man, Well Zigne said that,
and we.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Just just parroted it.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Anything could happen. You're right side, stolen vehicle, right side,
right side, I stuck, can't opener? Oh now hauling ass
right down Van.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Owen from wedged In to hauling ass.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
We'll be right back with Don McClain. We'll stay on
the chase.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Balboa.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Anything can happen in Lake Blow. We've made it even
(17:19):
easier to take LA Sports with you this summer.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Make AM five seventy or your favorite AM five seventy
LA Sports podcast, a preset on the iHeartRadio ap using
Apple Car Play or Android Auto road Trip all summer
with LA Sports.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
I bet trust somebody going until five o'clock. We have
got Thursday at football tonight Jets by Patriots. If you
were listening, and you should be listening, because you never
know when we're gonna bust a break the p During
your Toyota commercial, our pursuit came to its end.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Yeah, footbail in that Van Eys neighborhood and they got
they got run up on the cops, got a much
to Dennis Zein's chagrin, and now it's over. We're back
to the coverage of whatever, so it's time to move on.
Shoel Tony's gonna win the MVP in a little while.
(18:14):
But what about some hoops with the one and only
Don McClain our b f AF. The next ass he
kisses would be the first. If that pursuit went all
the way up to four oh five and over to
the one eighteen, could have got off and seen Don
McClain's statue at Lemon Park, the leading scorer in the
(18:34):
history of UCLA hoops. And the fact twelve works at
c AA works with a Big ten network joining us
live right now, I believe from Spokane, Washington. I'm so
ready getting ready for some coops basketball tomorrow. Coops joining
(18:56):
us on your Southern California Toyota to do the celebrity online.
It is the Baron of Box Canyon, Don McLain. Let's
crack a dot.
Speaker 7 (19:04):
What's going on?
Speaker 5 (19:05):
Guy?
Speaker 7 (19:05):
Yes, I am in fact up in Spokane. But it's interesting.
It's not a Big ten networking tomorrow. It is a
PAC twelve, not network. PAC twelve produced Washington State game,
but they are playing Washington on the Big ten. Is
kind of interesting.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
That very interesting and big news today that came out
about the new PAC twelve and the games that will
be on next year. Let's talk a little bit of
you saw UCLA just the other night. Don What were
your impressions of Mick Cronin's team this year and what
kind of potential do they have to be a big
story as the year goes on and turns to twenty
(19:44):
twenty six.
Speaker 7 (19:46):
Well, I think they're going to be in the mix
for the Big ten. I think they're going to be
in the mix to go deep into the NCAA tournament.
They didn't play well. They didn't play great the first
couple of games, especially the first game defensively, just kind
of felt like they were going through the motions A
little bit spoke to that after that game. The second
game they were better. But I just think this is
a team with so many new faces and get used
(20:08):
to playing with a guy like Donovan Den he didn't
play in their third game, but just role definition and
guys understanding what's expected of them. But I think once
they get rolling, they're going to be really difficult to
deal with.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Last year, just because obviously of how good he was
in high school, five star that whole thing. We didn't
see a lot of Trent Perry, but had a pretty
great game in that contest. Don just kind of as
this season gets rolling, what do you think we're going
to see in terms of how much of this is him?
We know how good Donovan Dent is, but how much
(20:42):
of this UCLA success is going to be on his
sophomore season.
Speaker 7 (20:47):
Well, here's what happens, Matt, And this isn't just Crent Perry.
This is across the board unless you're Cooper flag did
a lot of these McDonald's all Americans think they're going
to come in play twenty five to thirty minutes a
game and beyond to the NBA, And yes, it does
happen for some of those guys. But Trent Perry has
played behind good guards and he's still playing behind one
(21:09):
of the best in the country and Dent. But you
can see that that you saw flashes last year. It
just wasn't consistent enough. And that's why I said what
I just said. A lot of freshmen are inconsistent.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
They just are.
Speaker 7 (21:23):
And I think when you play for Mick Cronin, as
you guys know, there's a lot demanded on that position
because turnovers are a big deal at UCLA or lack thereof,
and so I think that was new for Trent, but
he got better, he stuck with it, he didn't leave,
and now he's getting an opportunity and you can just
tell how much more confident he is with a year
under his belt. And so I'm not saying I'm not
(21:46):
saying he's going to leave the team in scoring every night,
but he definitely looks like there's going to be a
lot of three guard depend depending on the matchup, And
Trent Perry's going to play a lot more than he
played last year because of his jump that he's made
from last year this year.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
Don you're doing Big Ten even though it's a PAC
twelve produced production tonight with Washington State. Just in terms
of this year, we knew it was going to be
a jump in competition for UCLA and USC. How good
is UCLA in the big picture? Is it produce conference again?
Is it one of the other blue bloods, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Michigan.
(22:25):
What's it look like at the top of that Big
ten this year?
Speaker 7 (22:28):
Well, we're going to find out tonight about Purdue. They
got Alabama. I watched Michigan the other night, Matt and
I cannot believe the lineup they are trotting out with Mara, Morez, Johnson,
and Lendeboord are all starting. That's seventy three six ten,
six ten, and so who's going to be able to
(22:50):
deal with that? I think Purdue has the personnel, and
I'm not saying a UCLA or USC can't beat him,
but like, that's shocking. When I saw that, I thought
they bring mar off the bench just because he really
can't play big chunks of minutes. But he's starting, and
he played really well the other night. So I think
for now, because it's so early, I would say Purdue
(23:11):
and Michigan are probably the two favorites. But you never know.
A lot of things happened during the season. Teams get better.
Hopefully there's no injuries, but those happen too, and so
I think top to bottom, Matt and you know the
league well from doing the tournament every year. I think
they're going to get ten or eleven teams in this
year if things go the way they're supposed to.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
Is that a lot of teams? I guess it is
the one and only. Don McClain is our guest, switching
to the Pro World. Don, were you surprised that the
Lakers got so bludgeoned by Okac and it's okay see
that much better than everybody else right now.
Speaker 7 (23:45):
It seems like it doesn't it. And what I like is,
you know, their young core and they kept it together
and just it seemed to how together they are as
a group, and that they're not satisfied with last year.
That's the thing that's shocking to be most teams, especially young,
younger teams that win a championship the next year, they're
really slow out of the gate just because they're still
(24:08):
celebrating winning the previous year. And that ain't happen in OKC.
I think they're on a mission to dominate the league,
and it kind of looks like they're going to you know,
I think the Lakers still, you know, we still can't
really you know, judge the Lakers wholly yet because Lebron's
not back. But you know, they got kind of exposed
defensively by okay See the other night. But like you said, Pete,
(24:29):
they're they're clearly the best team in the league, so
you know, it's unfortunately they got blown out, but I'm
not sure on their best day the Lakers are going
to beat Okay See.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
Yeah, don you know, you watch that game and know
they had that weird loss to Portland and that's their
only loss of the season, and they are throttling teams
and last night, you know, we talked about it. They
don't even have Jalen Williams in that game, Thenel lou
Dort in that game, and it was still an easy task.
So do you think that is Are we still in
(25:01):
an era, in the load management era where if they
can chase down Golden State seventy three wins, they will?
Speaker 5 (25:10):
It?
Speaker 7 (25:10):
Sure seems like they're interested in that. I mean, you
never know as the season goes on, and like I
mentioned earlier about injuries, hopefully they don't have any. But
I think if they're there, I get the sense the
culture they have, the competitive spirit that that team has,
that they're going to want to get it. And I'm
not sure the coach or Sam Presty, anybody in the
(25:31):
front office is going to keep them from trying to
get it because they're so young. You know, it's not
like they're older guys that need to be ready for
the playoffs. These guys can play every night if you
ask them to because of their age. And so it'll
be interesting though, if we get down to it, and
it looks like they can get it if they go
forward or not.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
A lot of folks taking a victory lap after a
lot of other folks were saying, yeah, look, the Lakers
might be better without Lebron, and then they get the
snopkake out of them by OKAC and it's like, well,
obviously they need Lebron. How much of a difference do
you think he'll make. I know, it's kind of a
dumb question. He was All NBA Second Team last year,
(26:10):
but just in terms of what he could add, and
I'm just talking about in the context of Oklahoma City,
you know, because that they just look like a juggernaut.
Speaker 7 (26:19):
Yeah, I'm not sure, Matt. That's a good question, because
you know, we need to see it, you know, him
and Luca with a bigger chunk of games together. I
think to see how that plays out with who has
the ball in their hands, who doesn't. But I just
think Lebron's presence is something. You know, when he's on
the court, you know, the level comes up. I know
that for a fact, and so I think that will
(26:41):
bring the Lakers level up whenever he gets back. Now,
there'll be some you know, a time where guys have
to adjust to him being on the court again. But
long term, obviously you want Lebron back in the lineup.
Do I think adding Lebron that Oka or the Lakers
could beat Okay see in a seven game series. I'd
have to see it to believe it.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
I think, are the Clippers really that bad?
Speaker 7 (27:04):
Don I don't know, man, It just you know, it
seems like the same old thing again. There's always something
as to why they don't get to where people have
expectations for them to go. And look, it's early in
the season, but what are they three and eight or
something like that, and so Cali's not playing again, and
(27:28):
it just it feels like the same old thing all
over again that you know, there's well, Kawhi's not playing,
that's why we're not winning. And then Kawi comes back,
and then they went a little bit, and then he's
out again or somebody else is out. They stop winning.
It just always seems like there's something with them. And
so if you're a Clipper fan, and you have been
(27:48):
for a long time, because I even said this before
the season started, like I really like their roster. I
really thought that this would be a team if healthy.
I guess they could be one of the better teams
in the West. I don't know if they could be
okay see in a series, but they'd be one of
the better teams in the West, and it certainly isn't
looking like that right now.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
Is the Bradley Beal thing a huge deal? Kind of
big deal or you know, like what obviously it's early
enough you can adjust, But seems like that was a
big deal when they got him, Like, oh wow, this
is this is kind of they won the Bradley Beal
sweet Steakes and now he's gone for them.
Speaker 7 (28:27):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. There's always something and it's
not Bradley Beal's fault that he got hurt, but it's
just so is it a big deal? I think I
think it would have been a big help obviously in
the regular season, but maybe in the playoffs. But yeah,
it's it's unfortunate that he's hurt. But we'll see, We'll
(28:47):
see if they can adjust and who steps up in
his absence.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Do you have any question for us, don anything that
might stump us and cause us to look stupid.
Speaker 7 (28:58):
What do you know about Spokane?
Speaker 3 (29:00):
Well? A division quest that fringe I usually yeah, I'm
usually there on my way to Pullman, much like you
sell Waterfall gondola thing going.
Speaker 7 (29:13):
The one nice thing about doing games in Pullman is
if you get the opportunity to stay and spoken, you
get to stay at the Davenport. That's always that's always
been a thing.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
That's not the one with the with the steakhouse in
it though, the Spencers.
Speaker 7 (29:29):
No, that's the Marriott. But the Davinport's a really nice hotel.
And for those of us that usually stay at you know,
Marriott courtyards and whatnot, it's kind of a nice treat
to stay at the Davenport.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Yeah, but you don't get those pancakes for breakfast for free.
Speaker 7 (29:46):
I do have to pay for breakfast tomorrow morning, which
I'm not happy about.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
Now.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
That can't be good. Well, it's going to be a
heck of a game. If Don McClain is on the call,
there's nobody better than our bff, the one and only
Don McLain. Thank you, Don. We'll talk to you next week.
All right, boys, There you go, Don, Don McClain, we
had a chase. It's over.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
He's over.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
Less than an hour. Otani's going to be another MVP winner.
Fourth and five years.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Very exciting.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
We'll have some reaction to everything that's happened up to
this point. Don't forget to come out and see us.
We're going to be live at the BJ's Restaurant in

not basketball. We are going to Jets v. Patriots in
about an hour Tomorrow we will go to Clipper basketball
and that'll be nearly a super flex as it'll be
a two to four thirty show. Going into a five
thirty tip in Dallas Monday will be a super flex though,
(31:50):
p And we want the people to come see us.
Speaker 3 (31:53):
It's gonna be sweet, Matt. I'd hope people come and
see us.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Our first ever Petrosen Money live remote save like a
Dodger thing or something, you know, during the playoffs or
opening day or whatever, but our first ever super Flex
live remote one to three pm at the BJ's Restaurant
in brew House in Irvine Marketplace.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
Now, we thought it was an unmarked cop car or
something that swooped into that pursuit, and Van eyes it
was a civilian and they cuffed the civilian too.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
No way. Yeah, the civilians. The one that chased that
dude down.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
Yep, the one that really sent him Twitter painted in
the white car.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Yeah, that sent him onto the sidewalk before he bolted.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
That was a civilian.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
Yeah, No, good deed goes unpunished.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
That's right, Matt. We got to have good Samaritan laws
for these civilians.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
No beekeeper goes unstung.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
Del Taco with box wine throwing some boomshocka lockun on there.
Speaker 8 (33:01):
Brought to you by your so cal Toyota dealers. We
make it easy.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Oh that was way back on the first hour. And
Matt is trying to get Joey Buss to give Wyoming
football so much money. And then Joey Buss because his
dad went to my own Wyoming. And then Joey Buss
is going to be so happy that we connected him
to the Wyoming that he's going to give Matt and Iyah.
Deltaco sold.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Yeah, Deltaco sold all five hundred and fifty of their
stores to this food like conglomerate for one hundred million dollars.
So each of them, if you were too pro rated,
would be worth like two hundred and fifty grand. So
we want a petros in money Del Taco to save
the brand before this this company just you know, guts
(33:46):
them all for the real estate. Okay, our idea, Let's
save Del Taco. And then Joey gets to save his
sporting livelihood by investing in a D one college football
program that becomes a powerhouse. It's his father's alma mater.
He becomes super good friends with Josh Allen and his
wife with Hailey Steinfeld that they I mean there's a
lot of elite circles.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Yeah, I mean there's a lot of things that we
are expecting to happen, like a.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
Lot of speculation here of how this can work out.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
All right?
Speaker 2 (34:14):
You know, hey, why make a plan if you don't
make a best case scenario.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
Well that's two days in a row trying to save
Wyoming football. I don't even think I mean I talked
to him today. I don't even think they think they
need saving. So interesting.
Speaker 8 (34:28):
Trut to you by your so called Toyota dealers.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
We make it.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Easy you too, and your business ideas are all cocaine,
just cocaine lines in a handicapped stall at one forty
four in the morning. Quote, Hey, I have this magnificent idea.
We're gonna save random obscure college football program. Yeah, man,
I'm in let's do it. Nine to thirty am. What happened, man?
(34:52):
Two days neither of you bitches. Two days later, neither
of you bitches. Remember s y'all are just blow tarts.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
That's very true.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
What do you mean, Matt? You actually tried to say
this was a real thing yesterday, Like you really tried
to sell it. You tried to say, like everything else.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
I think that Joey wants to figure out what his
next sports venture is. He's got a billion dollars he got,
you know, surreptitiously booted from the Lakers by his half sister. Well,
I don't know, I about from under him.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
I don't know if that's what happened. I don't know.
You know, I'm not that close with him. He's an acquaintance.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
I mean, you know, I'm just following the paper trail.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
I understand.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
Sounded like, you know, there was really only one person
that came out. Now, it's hard to feel bad for
any of them. They're each throwing a billion dollars in
their pocket.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
Everybody gets a lot of money out.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Yeah, but they all wanted to stay with the Lakers.
They didn't want to sell. That's tough. They wanted to
keep doing the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
I got to be tough on your identity. But now
you want their identity to be Wyoming. I mean, it's
kind of hard to go from the Lakers. Yeah, one
of the most that on a basketball brands and or
just sports brands ever, right, right, and now you jump
to the Wyoming Cowboys one of the teams left in
the Mountain West.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
I see, but so and now you put it that way.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
I mean, I know the Cowboys. Well, that's why you
brought me into this, man, I'm your Cowboy connection.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
I just don't feel like USC is going to respond
to Joey being like, you know.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
No, he's not rich enough, puppet master, he's not rich enough. Yeah,
he's not gonna be able to control them like he
could control Wyoming.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
When he can control Wyoming, it can be his. And
there's no they're pretty tough people though, Matt. I mean,
they're coach me. But I do think there's enough rich
Californians that and for that matter, billionaires that call Wyoming
their second home. A lot of it is tax you know, driven,
but you're still kind of rubbing. It's not like you're
rubbing elbows with folks that aren't refined and have means.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
I mean in Laramie you are.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 8 (37:00):
The secret text, I don't know, really brought to you
by your so called Toyota dealers.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
We make it easy, hey, Pete, podcasting the show on
the iHeart Blowtorch and listening into your Wyoming discourse, let
me just say that Tim Kates would not last a
day in Wyoming. They would kick him out there as
soon as they saw his truck at. Well, all right, but.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
But corrections and retraction.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
I am now in a truck at that's true, and
the iron a very ironic situation that as an unfolded
Kates is in a bigger truck and I am in
a truck at now. But I'm not trying to move
to Wyoming. So yeah, yeah, until we get our Del
Taco is.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
That well, yeah, we're going to go to Deltaco here.
That's going to take off because we saved Del Taco.
And then when Wyoming football finds out that we're the
ones that got this ball rolling, we're going to open
another Del Taco in Laramie and then it's going to
spread throughout all of Wyoming. Remember, Taco time was born
in New Mexico. You know, these things don't have to
(38:06):
start in California or New York or Illinois or something. No,
they can start in New Mexico. They can start pla
right Virginia like we can. We can. We can not
only save Wyoming football, we can save Del Taco. But
we might have to do it. In a circuitous route
that begins in southern California. But the second step, Yeah,
(38:30):
so I got you like to quote a lot of
strands in the duds.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
A lot of strands, a lot of it's and what
have you, A lot of strands in the old Dud's head,
Spencer Steakhouse and Spokane is in the Double Tree.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
Sorry, I'm sorry, Well I think Don said you know
it's in like the Courtyard Marriott or so you know
it was one with the Double Tree. Is a Double
Tree by Marriott, So easy there oday it is a
Marriotte branded hotel.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
Is that civilian that broke up the chase? A Petroson
money listener? That's how he blew up the chase? Great
sports talk, It's possible. It's possible, because wouldn't be the
first time. No, I mean we were on that chase
and Eric Sondheimer from the La Times I retweeted it,
tweeted out, there's nothing like listening to a chase on
(39:25):
Petroson's money. So we are in La Staple when it
comes to that. All right, Matt, we still got a
lot of dishes to wash. Will Yeah, we'll acknowledge when
he wins. I don't really feel like second wait to
acknowledge it. I can't wait to be I can't wait
to acknowledge your acknowledgment. I'm acknowledging this iledge.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
This is incredible.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
I'm acknowledging it. And we'll have a little bit of
a dodger's logistics story, and then we'll the dead and
alive guy burnt there the day, and.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
Then and then.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Football. Stay with us on m FI seventy l A
