(00:01):
And we continue on Fred Rogan,Rodney Pete a Sports. Later this hour,
Vick will be along with the alwaysexciting Haig Coup. It's something we
look forward to each and every day. It is a short week for us
because we have the fourth So eachhikup this week, Rodney means a little
more. Yes, it's got tocarry us, Fred, Yeah, means

(00:25):
a little more. Didn't gotta carryus? Yeah? Yeah, he's got
to carry us through the weekend.I know. Do you hear the story
about this guy who was in NewJersey and he was competing in an online
video game and got mad at theguy who was playing. Got that'd beef

(00:49):
Rodney. They got into it.They had beef. Okay, So the
guy in New Jersey got on aplane and flew to Florida, showed up
at the guy's house to fight him. He flew from New Jersey to Florida.
He was in Jersey, yeah, and playing a guy on a video

(01:11):
game and they got into a beef. Yeah, and he decided to fly
to Florida. Okay, now gouh flew to Florida and then fought the
guy. Do you think anything, anything is worth that? I mean,

(01:32):
what would you my god. Allright, we'll get more into it.
We'll get more into it, askedDavid. What did he do with that?
Let's bring David Vansay on right now. Hey, Dave, Hey guys,
all right, here's the story. There's a guy, he lives in
New Jersey. He's playing online videogames against the guy in Florida. Whatever

(01:57):
transpires, they have a beef. The guy in Jersey drives down or flies
down to Florida to fight the guy. Do you find that odd? Hey?
That gaming world is, uh,it is trying to become very personal.
So no, I'm not surprised atall. I mean, this world
there's a lot of you know, unhinged people over things that really don't matter.

(02:23):
That's true, That's absolutely true.I Mean we see it outside.
But yeah, but you know,it's one thing to get in your car,
I'm going to meet you at yourhouse. But the guy actually had
to spend money get on a planeand go down to see a guy in
Florida. I'm wondering if there wasthere is money on it? Yeah?
Was it, Tommy Fam? Surecould have been. Could have been some

(02:44):
fantasy fantasy football or something. Yeah, was it Tommy Fam? All Right?
Dave guys are back home and reportstoday that the Dodgers had some interest
in the preseason, in the offseasonand Gavin Stone. They told everybody,
apparently you and the Dodgers saw somethingthat the fan base did not see here

(03:05):
because you have been on Stone's cornerall week long. Could this guy be
a dominant ace in this league?Do you think? Yeah? I think
so. I think he showed it. He has the lowest era on a
Dodger staff that all anybody talked aboutwas Tyler glassnow Yoshi Yamamoto and Bobby Miller,
and Gavin Stone has just kept hishead down, worked hard and be

(03:28):
who he is, be himself asa pitcher. He's not trying to chase
strikeouts or spin rates of other pictures. He's just trying to be the best
version of himself. And what Isaw on what the Dodgers saw a was
a pitcher that took the off seasonseriously. He got bigger, he got
stronger, and also he took whathe learned at the end of the year

(03:50):
as far as new pitches with thetwo seamer a cutter, and perfected his
slider a little bit more and broughtthat to spring training. So he no
longer was a two pitch pitcher. He was a four or five pitch pitcher,
and then you saw the results. If there was I said this since
the end of spring training, ifthere was an award for the Pitcher of

(04:12):
the Spring, it would have beengiven to Gavin Stone. And Uh,
he's been able to stick to everythingand not get ahead of himself and pitch
to contact, bad contact, softcontact, whatever you want to call it,
and get strikeouts whenever necessary. Yeah, he's been amazing, Dave,
and that now going forward between heand Glass now they're invaluable to to the

(04:36):
Dodgers and their success. But youthink about this, and I think we
talked about this last week, ishow do you manage both he and Glass?
Now? Know you know Glass nowyou know, approaching more innings than
he's ever pitched, and and andGavin Stone, you know, not being
in this position you know before, but right now there are your two go

(04:57):
tos, there are your two aces. Do you how how do you dial
them back? If you do itall well, I feel like he the
reason why he's been so successful ishe's kept his pitch count down so there
really hasn't been any necessary adjustments tomanage his workload. Even that complete game
shutout in Chicago, you know, was he was cruising that entire game.

(05:18):
His pitch count was so low hehad a six pitch eighth inning which reinforced
six or nine pitch eighth inning, where Dave Roberts said, you know what,
you just made my decision a loteasier. But really, that's the
biggest challenge for Dave Roberts is tokeep Tyler Glass Noow healthy because he's been
in this league a lot longer thanGavin Stone, and he's had trouble staying

(05:43):
healthy. And they want to doeverything they can with the uncertainty of Yamamoto
now to make sure Glass now doesn'tgo down. And so far, so
good, Dave. Everybody loves GarrettCrochet. Why wouldn't they He's club controlled
for a couple of more years.I said it the other day, I'm
stunned. The White Sox as badas they are, they need to build
something. Having a picture of hiscaliber at his age would be fantastic,

(06:06):
But apparently they're willing to move themjust to get pieces and get better.
Right, right, Garrett Crochet isnot taking the White Sox to the promised
Land on his own. The WhiteSox organization as a whole is desperate for
talent, and not just one ortwo guys, but they need several.

(06:27):
And that's why they can't miss thatthis trade deadline about trading Garrett Crochet,
Luis Robert, even you know,a fringe player like Tommy fam to a
contender. They need to hit onall of these to replenish their organization with
talent. If they miss on thistrade deadline, you're not going to hear

(06:47):
from the White Sox in quite sometimes. So that's why they're willing to
trade Crochet, and they have toget it right, and that's why they're
not taking anything less than what theyconsider to be the best offer. Yeah,
speaking about the trade deadline, Davids, as far as the Dodgers are
concerned, are they leaning more let'sget a starting pitching or are we looking

(07:12):
for outfielder? We talked about ChrisTaylor kind of starting to heat up a
little bit. What if you wereto guess what would be the first priority
for the Dodgers. Is it pitchingor is it outfield? Yeah? I'm
not guessing, Rodney, it's startingpitching. They have their eyes set on
Garrett Crochet, and if they can'tget Crochet, they have their eyes on

(07:32):
other starting pitchers that would start aplayoff game. They're not just looking for
any guy, They're looking for aguy that could start a playoff game,
and Crochet obviously fits that bill. There's not too many of them, especially
at this point in time where alot of teams are teetering whether or not
they're a wildcard team or they're aseller. So we'll know more more teams

(07:56):
as we get closer, and Ireally firmly believe this, we may see
new sellers, maybe even just twentyfour hours before July thirtieth. So right
now it's very thin, but certainlybetween now and then it can have a
little bit more supply than demand isright now, Dave, if Chris Taylor

(08:18):
continues to progress, let's just putit like that. If he continues and
all of a sudden, so you'reon the Chris Taylor train. Now,
can we get the receipts on this, Rodney? No, no, no,
no, I'm asking I'm asking aquestion. If he continues to progress,
is that sort of like the Dodgersdid make a deal at the deadline
because they've acquired a guy that canplay again. I mean to me,

(08:41):
that would be a bonus, likeget traded for somebody. I want to
go that far, but it wouldbe a bonus because they haven't gotten much
out of him all year long.I wouldn't say that. I feel like
you could say you're getting a pieceof Max Munsey, who you haven't had
since May fifteenth. If they do, indeed, ever get Joe Kelly and
Ryan Brazier back, I would saythe same thing. But not with a

(09:03):
player that's been active on the roster. Yeah, it's been active on the
roster, and and you know everybodywas ready to write him off, but
hopefully he can continue with that,David, Is that wrong on that?
Right? Rodney Fird wanted to runChris Taylor out of town, right,
He sure did. He sure did. He was ready to get him out
of there. Pa has is hereally solidified his situation, Dave? And

(09:30):
and then you know, you lookback last year and James Outman was the
shiny new toy, and now he'sdown and and pat it seems like he's
like taking over that spot and notgoing anywhere. Well, going back to
your question about starting pitcher or outfielder. If the Dodgers can do both,
they would be able to find aneveryday outfielder and then platoon Pa Haz with

(09:56):
Jason Hayward in right field. Andthat means them finding a center fielder,
whether that's Kevin Kiermeier, Luis RobertPajez is hitting close to three sixty against
lefties. We know Hayward's really goodagainst righty's, but that would be the
ideal situation. And also, don'tforget about ten Or Scott in Miami,

(10:18):
left handed heart throwing reliever. He'sanother guy that's on the radar. All
right, So Dave, as weopen this home stand, any update at
all on Mookie or the timeline isstill undetermined. Well, it's still six
weeks from when he got hit onFather's Day, so you're looking at first

(10:41):
or second week of August. Andyou know, I warn people like Fred
Rogan not to expect Mookie Betts toall of a sudden hit four hundred the
first week he's back. It's goingto take some time to get that feal
from players I've talked to that I'vehad a broken finger, a broken hand.
It's not as easy as just comingback showing up and being Mookie bets

(11:03):
again, and you're you're of theopinion without question that he'll go back into
the leadoff spot eventually. I mean, if Otani is continuing to tear the
cover off the ball the way heis, I could see the Dodgers giving
Muki a soft landing and maybe nothitting him leadoff, but eventually, within
two or three weeks of his return, he would go back there because he

(11:26):
can't get wally pipped after being hiton the hand and being an MVP candidate,
leading MVP candidate. I just don'tsee how that conversation would go over.
Well, hey, Mookie, you'renot only not going to play shortstop
anymore, you're not our leadoff hitteranymore. Thanks see out there. Well
that's all right, Dave, thanksfor jumping on. Appreciate it. Okay,

(11:52):
guys, Thanks buddy, David Vaseout at the stadium, Dodgers getting
ready to go tonight. You'll hearit here on the radio station. All
right, Have you ever been soupset Rodney talking about the story at the
top of the hour the video gameguy, I've been angry, Fred,
Yes, have you ever gone tothose lanes? Get on a plane,
fly from New Jersey to Florida.Go down meet the guy you're playing video

(12:16):
games with and try to kick thecrap out of him. Never never,
have never will never unless somebody messwith my family. Well, of course
that would be a different story. But video games, Come on, Fred,
come on, But I mean tofly from New Jersey to Florida.

(12:37):
That takes effort. It takes alot effort. And I'm sure when you're
on that plane, when you decideyou're so hot, you're like, I'm
going down there. You're like, give me in my reservation, let me
get online, give me a fight, give me a flight right now,
give me a fight, let mego to that. I'm close. I'm
still mad at I'm driving to theairport. I'm in there. Security is
making me mad too, because he'sgot to wait thirty five minutes to get

(12:58):
through security. I get through security, I'm sitting there waiting my plane.
My plane is it may be delayed, and then there's a two hour flight
to get down there, and you'resitting on that plane going, why the
hell am I getting on this planegoing down here? I think that's when
it hits you, like, whythe hell am I flying down here to
fight this guy, and you're alreadyon the plane. I mean, look

(13:22):
at it like this, Matt Barnesgot to Derek Fisher quicker than this.
That was what so la to SantaBarbara. That's a long that's a long
ass drive to like reconsider whatever, get pissed off, cool down, get
pissed off again. Exactly. Imagineflying from Jersey to Florida. Yeah,
not to mention it's a two hourflight, but then two and a half
hour flight. Then but on topof that, you gotta go to the

(13:43):
airport, you gotta check in,you gotta do all those things. You
gotta land, you gotta find anuber, or you get a car and
you gotta drive and find a guygetting through TSA. Would you like,
are you gonna sit on that planefor two and a half hours, still
steaming and mad? Or you're gonnareflect going what am I doing? Or

(14:05):
Rodnie maybe there's an element of Atthat point in time, I was like,
well, I've already committed to it, right, so I might as
well follow three. It's like maybeor you went down there with somebody else,
and that other person is your hypeman egging you on. Well that
could be the case. It keepsyou going, it keeps a little bad.
That's good man. I can't believewhat he did to you. We

(14:26):
don't get him. We don't gethim. We don't get him. Next
thing, you know, you getthere, show up. Oh yeah,
meet me over here, you meethim. He's at the UFC, GYM
MMA Trade Fighter. My mistake,my mistake. Well, yeah, you're

(14:50):
not who I was looking for.I just wanted to talk. Oh God,
I listen to Dodger Talk tonight forthe chance to win one hundred dollars
gift card to Superior Grocers. Listento the games and the top of the
sixth for the Andre Ethiercuter called youcould win a one hundred dollars gift card
to Superior Grocers. Stream all gamesand HD and the iHeartRadio w app.
The keyword is aimed five to seventyLA sports. Okay, US men's soccer.

(15:18):
Well that's that? Why does thatkeep happening? Let's get into it.
Come come on, come on fullshow, short week, Rodney Pete,
Fred Rogan, what you doing forthe fourth? Fred? You got

(15:39):
any big plans? This is interestingthat the fourth, you know, lands
on a Thursday. It rarely doesyou know, people plan for a big
time weekend now with the fourth landingthat way, people take advantage of that.
You see all the fireworks sees andall that kind of stuff crazy.
I was in are Rizona last weekendand there must have been ten to twelve

(16:03):
seizures of crazy firework that people had. It doesn't surprise me, and we
know because we talk about it everyyear. So we'll talk about it on
Monday. You know, there arethe legal firework shows in southern California and
then there's everybody else. So theystart going off about one fifteen am,
because they do. And your animalsare terrified because they are. We talk

(16:29):
about it every year, right, yep, yep, every single year,
and this year I would say outthere, as you do what you're not
supposed to do, but we'll doit anyway because we know who you are.
And even though it's a good ideathat you don't do that, you
will just be mindful of the factthat this is an exceptionally hot summer and

(16:56):
that means things could go up inflames a lot quicker because the brush is
very dry, So just be mindfulof that as you start shooting these things
off all over the place because it'swhen it's hot. It's not good doing
that if you don't know what you'redoing. Just face it. Most people
that are that are doing this athome or whatever don't know what they're doing.

(17:19):
That's correct. You try to takeit to the next level, and
that's when you run into problems.Oh we get a little bigger when let's
add this with this and see whathappens. It really is a recipe for
a prescription for disaster. Yeah, you'll be doing a PSA with Jason Pierre
Paul. Yes, I'm not thinkingthat with no ants, Look, mom,

(17:41):
no ants literally. Today's California CommunityCollege is Spotlight features former NFL All
Pro running back Jamal Anderson. Theal Camino Real High School native played for
the Atlanta Falcons for eight seasons, including a first team All Pro campaign in
ninety eight, when he helped leadthe team to the berth in Super Bowl

(18:03):
thirty three. Prior to his NFLcareer, Anderson played for two seasons at
Moore Park Community College, rush fortwenty eight hundred yards, named first team
All Western State Conference prior to transferringto the University of Utah. Start your
future at a California community college.Financial aid is available to help with tuition,
books, and sometimes even the rent. It's time to take the next

(18:26):
big step. You deserve it.Classes can fill quickly. Enrolled today at
I can go to college dot comagain. No one will speak more highly
of the community college program, oras we used to call them, jc's
me tucos. Right. Of course, I didn't graduate from a JC,

(18:48):
No, but I went. Itprovided me all of my higher education.
Oh, the JC, Yeah,I mean, look, you had a
college scholarship. I know you graduatedfrom USC. I know you're a big
man. I know you played inthe NFL. I know you had a
great college career. I know you'reaccomplished and successful. And you would tell

(19:11):
anyone walking around that the foundation forthat came from your your college education.
Is that fair to say? Yes? Yes, certainly fair? Okay,
Well, my foundation came from mycollege education. Six months at Phoenix Junior
College. Six months that was it, Phoenix JC. Right when I went

(19:34):
to work for Willard Shoecraft, theman with no legs. Yes, teres
sing name Cheecraft thing we talked aboutbefore. But yeah, it shaped you
though, fright, it shaped you? You know, but you had enough.
You got what, you got whatyou needed from Phoenix Junior College,
and you got out. Some peoplestay too long, you know what I
mean? Not you. Some peoplestay too long. Some people feels now,

(20:02):
do you stay those two years? That's you reready, that's you.
You got it in and got outbecause time is valuable. That's right.
Time is valuable. Why am Iwasting another year and a half at this
juco? And as I made thedecision to leave the Juco and go to

(20:26):
work in Globe, Arizona after sixmonths after turning down a four year college
scholarship because I just had had enough. As I was pulling away my little
Nissan B two ten honey Bee.Oh yes, Coolidge Avenue, Phoenix,
Arizona, driving away from home.Runs. Was it a Nissan? Was
it a Dotson? Dotson? Rememberthe dots and dots And that's right,

(20:49):
honey Bee, and I would bedriving down the street. I'd never been
away from home like this, goingthe eighty miles east to Globe to be
on my own. And I lookedin the rear view mirror and there was
my mother standing in the middle ofthe street looking at me, tears in

(21:11):
her eyes. Announcing this, you'rethrowing your life away. You're throwing your
life away, and off I droveto Globe. That was her last that

(21:32):
was her last ditch effort, rightto keep you on the straight and arrow.
But I'll say street yelling at youas you drove off, you're throwing
your life away. Freddie Rogan, that's right. But let me say this,
and I think it applies to today'sCommunity College Spotlight. Because of the
training that I received in my sixmonths at Phoenix Junior College, I was
able to make a decision and realizethat my mom would come around. If

(21:56):
I had not attended Phoenix Junior Collegefor six months, I don't think I
could have made that decision. That'swhy community college is so important for everyone,
and that's why we do the CommunityCollege Spotlight. It was so important,
right, so important to the fabricand what made you who you are

(22:17):
today six months that you lasted sixmonths and decided that you had to leave
and explore on your own. Andbecause that junior college experience gave you the
confidence, yes to go to Globeand defy your mother and go to Globe,
Arizona and throw your life away. And that's why you two should go

(22:38):
to a community college. And I'llalso say this and Rodney and I obviously
both have kids and they've been incollege. College is very expensive, I
mean really expensive. And if youcan go two years to a community college,
which is far more affordable, thenyou transfer into the school you want
to go to. And by theway, as a freshman, it's difficult

(23:02):
to get into many universities. Butif you go to a community college and
you're ready to transfer, you're in. You're in. It really is a
very smart move. Financially it is, and emotionally I'd agree with that one
hundred percent. Okay, USA Soccer, the men thinks you're out COPA America.

(23:25):
They're done. They're just done.More calls for the coaches head.
Uh, it's been a cycle ofmediocrity for the national team. Is that
a reason why soccer in this countrymight not be as popular as it could
be, because our men's national teamjust doesn't do it? Rodney, I

(23:47):
think so. We were trying tochop this up last week, Freddie and
because they had they had lost toI believe it was Panama, and trying
to figure out why because there wasa lot of hype with this US team
this year a lot of height. You know. Copa America played in the
United States, the whole tournament allover the United States, so people got

(24:07):
to see it in Kansas City andMiami, and we talked about how beautiful
SOFI looked, and people coming fromall over South America, Central America and
Canada to see our beautiful stadiums, and that the US team finally kind of
got to a level of respect,I think from their soccer program and then

(24:30):
to do this. I don't understandwhy we we as a program soccer program
can't be better, can't compete onthe world stage at all. I mean,
I don't understand the women do thewomen compete and they've won World Cups
and and they're they're always at theforefront and the tops of when when they're

(24:53):
due seating and around the globe, whether it's Olympics a World Cup, the
women are right there. But themen, Why can't the men get it
right? I don't understand. Itcan't be for just you know, lack
of athletes. We have best athletesin the world. Why can't soccer get
it right and attract the right playersor athletes to play soccer? Because I

(25:15):
believe now, I'll say this moreso now than ever before. Of course
they said that, you know, when I was in grade school, but
more so now than ever before.People consider playing soccer more so now than
ever before. It was not partof the fabric of the sports that we
competed in here in the United Statesseventies, in the eighties. Yeah,

(25:37):
Frett, But I'm saying, likeyou said, kids. You know,
kids nowadays play soccer, soccer asthey do big in the States. But
I would suggest to you that theydo play soccer, but the best athletes
do not. They play the moretraditional sports in this country. I mean,
obviously, you would not take asix foot eight, two hundred fie

(26:00):
fifty pound linebacker in the NFL makehim play soccer, although that would be
a pretty tough guy to stop.I just think we're more conditioned here to
compete in the what seemed to beregular American sports. So I'm not sure
soccer gets the best of the bestathletes. I mean, you look at
guys on the Dodgers, the Lakers, hockey guys. They be pretty good

(26:22):
athletes. They're they're very good athletes, and they probably be good at soccer.
But you just don't grow up withit. I think that's what it
is. It Also, it stilldoesn't happen you grow up with it.
Yeah, but it's so popular, but it doesn't what I'm saying. So,
whatever it is, the soccer is, you grow up playing it,
but you're not really engaged watching it. I mean you can watch the MLS.

(26:47):
I love the Premier League. Youknow that. We talk about it
all the time. You love thesport as well, But I don't think
here it's top of mind. Ithink it's more of a recreational game for
kids until they get to a certainpoint. I'm not saying it's right,
and I'm saying people could have magnificentcareers playing soccer, and you hope more

(27:08):
and more Americans play in the mLLASS. But you go watch soccer and
we discussed it overseas. Yeah, that's real. That is some real stuff
that the speed, the techniques aredifferent. I mean the athleticism when you
look at like you said, wegot some of the the best. But

(27:30):
I guess when you look at it, you're right the best athletes. Like
if you're growing up and you're atremendous athlete, you know soccer is probably
last on the list of the sportyou play, right. You know,
you're playing baseball, you're playing basketball, you're playing football, you're running track.
But soccer is like an afterthought, you know, like, Okay,

(27:53):
I play soccer. Maybe it's juststay in shape, but I'm not going
to really hone in on my skills, right, But I just I just
still find it fascinating that we can'tcatch up in soccer. All right,
Well, I know Amanda did didcompete on the pitch, oh, the
cement pitch, Yes, and I'msure he'll have tails. Victor Brick comes

(28:18):
on with the Daily high Coup attwo and Victid afternoon. Fred. I
love football. That was the firstteam that I made in junior high school.
I was a goalie. I madetwo saves the entire season, one
of which came from a Romanian strikerabout fifteen yards away. He unleashed this

(28:44):
incredible kick. I didn't see it, but they tell me it hit my
head and I made the save andwe actually won the game one nothing against
the rival junior high school and Iwas hit your head, my head.
I didn't even see it. Itwas a laser wow. Wow. Vic

(29:04):
fell in love with soccer. Atthat point love soccer. Yeah. Did
you ever play on the concrete? No soccer, no football? Yes,
which made sense because you would muchrather get tackled on concrete than run on
it. We were mad men.Mad men make you ever, uh ever

(29:32):
straight arm anybody while running on theconcrete and not com into a curb or
something. You did what you haveto do, Fred, You got you
a physical in New York. Youhad to be physical and on any field
of play. You ever lose aknee on a fire hydrant? No?
No, I lost my teeth? Are these all things that happened to you,
Fred, No, I'm just thinkingof obstacles on the street. Yeah.

(29:56):
I lost my front teeth playing tafootball in the in a park cement.
That was. That was a verytough moment. But luckily my my
sister's husband was an orthodontist in Jersey, over in Pearl River and they rushed
me over and I got some fallsfront teeth, So that was that was

(30:18):
a That was a tough moment. But you know, Roger, you know
football, it's a violent sports.I don't care what what turf you play
on. Tough, crazy sport.Yeah, and those moms, you know,
not of those moms were like, not playing football, don't do it.
Get out there and play soccer, which again leads me to be baffled

(30:41):
by why we can't be better.I'm gonna make my copa America take in
a bit. But first off, well everybody's waiting for that. Vic,
you're gonna give us your copa Americapick. How call it? Tease?
Fred? Come on now? Wow, gee, he's you're telling me he's

(31:03):
leading the elephant walk in Burbank, head of the Herald of twenty five,
Fred Rogan, what elephants? There'san elephant walk in Burbanks. I don't
even think Fred's in Burbank, VicWhite, real elephants are walking around in
Burbank. No, these are artisticrenditions of elephants honoring the elephants. Fred,

(31:25):
it's an exhibit of elephants. Yes, we're at VIC. I've seen
nothing in Burbank. In Burbank.I drive through Burbank every single day.
Vic, I've seen no elephants downtownBurbank. Yes, that's where we are.
No runn he's talking about like MainStreet down there. You mean San

(31:47):
Fernando Road, there by the AMCtheaters and all the restaurants. Yeah,
exactly. We'll be more specific,Vic. Well, it has a pretty
narrow streets to fit elephants down, but I'll check it out. Hey,
Vic, Hey, breaking news. The elephant bar is no longer in Burbank.
It's now Wood Ranch. Had thatelephant bar that used to be fun.

(32:07):
I had a hell of a barthere, Fred, didn't he?
Yeah, nicely the bar. I'llbe sure to warn the people had foot
Ruckers out to watch out for theelephant walk. Hey, another breaking news
clip for you here, Kevin footRuckers is no longer No, it's now
Colavetta, another Mexican restaurant in thevalley. O. They have good margarita,

(32:28):
a color that's pretty good. He'sa champion to all animals Rodney Pete
fake TV, and he is allking of the beasts. He has the
heart of a lion, the heartof a champion, Kevin figures right,
come on, nah, and he'sour king of the beats. He loves

(32:52):
elephants, y'all, oh ding flavor. Yeah, I honor the elephants.
I've always loved the elephants. Aswe continue, Vic will have tails from
the trunk. His love of theelephant and the haikup. Come on,

(33:24):
let's get it back. We needit, we need it, Rodney,
Pete bred Rogan Vic the brick Jacobs, come on, now, let's do
it. Vic, you were talkingabout your love of the elephant. I
want to wrap up the beautiful elephants. They were a sacred beast and again
being honored in Burbank with artist renditionsof elephants. So check it out,

(33:47):
Vick. Do you find it interestingif you stood next to an elephant and
you race the elephant, Seemingly theelephant wouldn't be faster than you, But
isn't the truth The elephant is farfaster than you. Vic, Absolutely,
absolutely, And and the mother elephant, by the way, used to on
a sidebar. They are so amazingwith their children and anyone who's been to

(34:13):
Africa on the on the nature.Yes, then how do you know the
mother elephant is really good to herchildren? Vic? Well, I've seen
a lot of the documentaries on elephants, Fred, Vic watched Dumbo over the
weekend. Who doesn't love the elephant? Fred? They were a beautiful,
beautiful animal and the mother is justwhat he got against the elephants. I've

(34:38):
got nothing against the elephants. I'mlearning, okay, Honor the elephant,
Fred please h o ee Honor,oh h e. I'll see what friend
the beat beat. Meanwhile, theLakers introduced their first didactics today. Duco.

(35:07):
Yeah, six months six months ofPhoenix Junior College. Man, that's
all you needed. Had the epiphany. Then you had the epiphany, this
tracking moment of personal realization, andand then site, Get the hell out
of here, you damn grammar class. I'm right. Get get me the
globe, Look me to globe, you know what. Get me on that

(35:29):
road to Claypool, and then theglobe. There we go. Well,
Dalton connecting, Bronnie James are onthe road. The kids were solid this
morning in the In the introduction,Plaski asked the question on everyone's minds.
When Bill asked, Bronnie added, pressure from all the heat from the outside

(35:52):
sources from playing with your dad,and Brownie was very cool, saying there's
always been haters and I'm used toit, but it was very very cool
under pressure. But it still bothersme that Clay Thompson is not a Laker,
even as dad Michael Thompson, theBohemian Behaman Bohemian was saying, he's

(36:15):
not in a congratulatory moved that hisson signed a three year, fifty million
dollars deal with Dallas. It stillflummoxes me that Clay, who of course
grew up idolizing Cobe was you know, it was that Staples Center for you
know, for his his his youth. You know, Michael would drag him
there every night. He'd shoot onthe courts. It's just amazing he didn't,

(36:39):
you know, he didn't finalize hiscareer in Los Angeles. I'm still
I'm still flummoxed by Clay going toDallas. Are you with me on that?
What does that tell you? Vic? Well, the Lakers better target
Buddy Healed and the Gary Trent Juniornow, well, Buddy Heels always available.
Buddy Heal's the guy every year.Buddy Healed Well, Gary Trent Junior

(37:06):
also on the radar. You know, Trent a client of Clutch Sports,
and Buddy a former client of RobPolinka when Rob was an agent. You
know what I find interesting, VicRodney remembered Trey Young, Trey Young gonna
be Trey Young. Trey Young changesagencies. He's not with Clutch anymore.
The reports where it's not gonna happenwith Trey Young, no more tra Young

(37:29):
because he went to a different agency. That that just that in itself.
So the rich Paul is deciding whogoes where. The Lakers don't want Trey
Young if he's not with Clutch Sports. They only want him if he is,
because if he's with CEA, forexample, he's not any good anymore.
We don't want him. That's thecase. Fred Kyrie Irving would be

(37:52):
a Laker, there were other guyswould be in Lakers. They's nothing to
do it. The Lakers and RobPolinka are making that decision. Come on,
there's many machinations for it, manymachinations in the in the art of
the deal, the art of thedeal. Yeah, we got that Copa

(38:15):
America. A disaster for team. You will say the men again, I'm
watching the entire game last night.Your Dodgers were off. I'm on you
know FS one the Great Election. You know, Alexi Lawless is giving sensational
commentary. You know at halftime postgame. They don't score. I mean,

(38:37):
this team does not score when theyget within twenty yards. We have no
clue. You know, Pulla Chicksare stud Uraguaya was all over them.
The guy's a mount of a day. Oh, they were all over them.
He couldn't even get a shot off. You know, we got one
shot off of the last fifteen minutessome week bounce shots. I mean,

(38:59):
you got you got to set up, you got to get plays. I
mean, and this group was good. I understand. Uruguays are a very
good team. Panama not so much. Bolivia not so much. But they
lost to Panama, destroyed us.And Burholter the coach is done. He's
gone done. I mean they're saying, oh he may, he may coach

(39:22):
them again in the World Cup comingup in twenty six. Are you kidding
me? Burholt is gone. Butcoaches, you know, coaches in Europe
who are ready to, you know, come to Manhattan Beach and hang out
and and you know, and trainthis team. We have a lot of
talent, well men, we havea we have a very talented men's team.

(39:43):
But they have no clue. Offensively, they have no clue. Yeah,
they looked over a match Vic andI was saying, why can't we
get our team like to that level? I don't understand. You have to
get past the Olivia with the restof the world lutely this is there's a
decent team we should compete. Yes, it was in Kansas City. I

(40:07):
mean if it was in Mexico,I don't care where they play. They're
not gonna you don't score, youdon't win. And you know, going
blank by Uruguay. You know,Panama had on number. You know,
you know we got over in Boliviaand that was it. Very disappointing.
Bum But the coach Greg Beerholt isdone well. We wish him well.

(40:38):
And Fred, Chris Taylor is notjust rediscovering his groove. He's hitting over
four hundred the last couple of weeks. Okay, so you give love to
CT three. Yeah, Fred,it's not just like he's really been barreling
it up. I mean he's hittingover four hundred the last couple of weeks.

(40:59):
That's since she was so happy forChris. He's you know, one
of you know, all time Dodgeyour favorite. So I am I am
blissed out at CT three is rediscoveringthe way. No, it's terrific,
It's a bonus. I was tremendous. Don't forget Japanese Heritage night tonight the
stadium celebration of all things Japanese culture, Tycho Teriyaki and Takai. George Takai,

(41:28):
legendary actor, played the iconic LieutenantSulu on the original Star Trek with
Captain Kirk, first Officer, MisterSpock, Communications Officer Hua, and of
course Bowl is the chief medical officer. I love this show. I love
Sulu, I love George. I'mtrecked out. Yeah, you know that

(41:53):
leads to the source thread. Yes, vi So and Dodgers tonight, welcome
back to Boys and Blue. BobbyMiller on the Hill. First pitch seven
is right here. I am fiveto seven of the La Sports Murra and
Dodgers on Tech Tim kats at six. I'm pumped for the return of the
Blue. I think we all are. Vic I'm pumped for the high coup.

(42:19):
Right, it's from poor Holmes. It's a summer high coup, Paul
Holmes, Poor Holmes. As theseason inspires, everybody, right, go
something like this. There's high coupfor you on this Tuesday, July second
calm as a river, tranquility inmy heart, blue summer skies rain.

(42:46):
Give it up for the Azul allright, there? Not necessary? You
set it up nicely, had agood flow going and then you had to
give it up. Yeah, you'reworking off the blue summer scars. Now
that that was good, Vic.I don't think you needed to embellish it

(43:07):
though. That's all I'm saying.Dodge is a home tonight. Yeah,
we know, Vick Big six game, Homestead. I'm psyched, all right,
