Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yes, Coachella Valley's best bet. All right.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
I'm not saying for the rest of his life. I'm
not saying for the entirety of his career, but I'm
saying right here, right now, for this season that could
be making a break in time and the decision as
to whether to include him at least in the first
version of the postseason roster. So I think next week
is very important for Bobby Miller. So we don't know
(00:24):
about Bobby Miller. We thought we knew about Clayton Kershaw.
Now we don't know about Clayton Kershaw. Here comes yam Momoto.
He's back at it next week. Dave Roberts estimates you
will have four starts before the playoffs, and each time
they'll let him go a little longer and stretch him out.
Is he going to be effective? Is he going to
(00:44):
be ready to go? You keep your fingers crossed, But
if we're to be honest, we don't know. And then
Tyler glassnow when will he be ready to go? Will
he be ready to go? So those are really the
questions now because if you look at the pitching staff,
(01:06):
you have Flairty and Gavin Stone and uh pray for rain,
so pray for right, that's kind of where you're at,
I think, Ridney, those are the questions right now.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Yeah, and and but but we also got to look
at this as we're not privy to all the information
either because we don't know and and Vassa was the
one that shared this, is that Yamamoto has been healthy
enough to probably start, you know, a couple of weeks ago,
but it just held them back and we'll see what
(01:43):
that happened, what happens there and glass now we don't know,
you know, how healthy he really is. And at this
point in the season, are they holding guys back to
make sure that they all are ready for October and
geared up and rested and all those things. So, you know,
we just see guys that are out, Oh they're not
they're out, they're on the I L or they're not
(02:05):
pitching in their normal rotation. So obviously we can speculate say, oh, oh,
they're not gonna be ready to have you. Well, internally,
the Dodgers know what they have and who's going to
be ready and who's not going to be ready, and
who they're going to use. So we can do this
all we want, but at the end of the day,
they know if Tyler Glasnas gonna be ready, Yamamoo's gonna
(02:27):
be in the rotation. I think the things that they're
trying to evaluate is whether or not we utilize Bobby.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Miller or Walker Buehler going forward.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Yeah, because at this point, if somebody's not ready to go,
it's got to be one of them. And I'd say
Walker Buehler, who started slowly, is now ahead. He's the
leader in the clubhouse, and we know how inconsistent he
has been, so pitching really is something that should be
a concern. But the pitching has been a concern for
(02:59):
a good period of time, and the Dodgers had a
sizzling August find themselves where they are, so somehow, some
way they have been able to cobble together a staff.
They've overused the bullpen, although in this series against Cleveland,
everybody should be ready to go and maybe the bullpen
will have to carry them. It's a lot to ask,
(03:23):
but when you look at where they're at right now,
just take pause and understand that they probably shouldn't be
where they're at right now, but they are. And now
it's the pitching and that will be determined in the
next couple of weeks. Let's talk about Jack Harris wrote
about this and I really found it interesting. Let's talk
(03:45):
about the guys that are no longer here, Guys that
they moved on, Guys that they either traded or dfa'ed.
Let's talk about those. Oh and what other thing can
I mention?
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Yeah? I don't.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
I don't want to pound my chest, but I'm going
to do it because how right am I?
Speaker 1 (04:06):
How right am I?
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Most of the time? So I'm going to take this opportunity.
Chris Taylor is sitting two eighty one since July twentieth,
Thank you, thank you. He's hitting two eighty one. The
guy you wanted, run out of town, traded DF eight,
sent to the Japanese League, Have him go play winter ball.
He can't play for us anymore. He's hitting to eighty
(04:29):
one since July twentieth. So when I told you they
need to see what they have, they need to see
what they have and what is it they have? The
guy who's hitting two eighty one and Rodney that's a
guy in a big league roster and probably an everyday player.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah, I mean, what do we saying? What are we saying?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
People people jumped on the fact that he was in
a certain situation against Baltimore and he didn't hit the
ball and he should have been pinched it for and
why is he playing? Why did they let Jason Hayward go,
and why in the world they keep him? And it
made no sense. And he's not helping us, he's hurting us,
So why would you do that kind of thing?
Speaker 3 (05:13):
The fact that he was under contract and there was nothing,
like you know, they had bought into Chris Taylor a
couple of years ago, and and he's one of the
guys they bought into. So sometimes you got to live
with the good and the bad. But like you mentioned,
since the All Star Breaking, since he's come back off
of injury, he's steadily gotten better. And and then sometimes
(05:36):
you know, your mind remembers those moments and those big
moments that he came through for you, and you think
and you believe that those are gonna happen again.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Like I said, they have to see what they have. Yeah,
Bobby Miller's going back out the pitch next week. They
have to see what they have. I understand they're in
a pennant race, but if you look at it from
a fan perspective and the way we have looked at
it all year, they're making the playoffs when one hundred
and fifty games, when eighty two games, it doesn't matter.
(06:09):
Just get in the playoffs because we've wined in the
past years that that's all that matters.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Get in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
And just because you won the most games during the
regular season doesn't mean you're going to win it. And
we have seen that movie and the ending twice, so
it's better to battle a little bit, have a little adversity. Yeah,
it's tight, it's fine, and the other side of it
is again when you get to October, which is all
that anybody really cares about. Now, I have someone out
(06:35):
here I work with. He's the greatest guy in the world.
He's the biggest Dodger fan in the world. Every day
he walks in and he is either on top of
the world or he is miserable every single day. And
if they lost the night before, he wants to lament
about it and talk about it for hours. And if
they won, he is celebrating and the happiest guy you'll
ever see. And I say to him every time. His
(06:56):
name is Jose Cuban. Jose it's all okay, it's all okay, Jose.
Just wait till they get to the playoffs. That's all
that matters. You cannot live and die every second. Just
wait till the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Easy there at Darwinham, thank you.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
He made that same point talking to Lakers fans. You
didn't like that, Fred, You can't die with every game.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
But it's a little different story with the Dodgers because
we know they're going to be there, and we know
how good they are, and we know how good they've been,
and they haven't been able to close the deal. That's
why Bobby Miller is going to pitch next week. All right,
let's talk about the guys that are gone. Chris Taylor,
there's no way you should have got rid of Jason Hayward.
That's what the fan said. Why is Chris Taylor staying?
(07:48):
That's what the fan said. Jason Hayward two for eleven
a double and two RBIs since he's been in Houston.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Not bad.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Two for eleven, a double and two RBIs. I think
we all remember Cavin Bigio. They brought him in earlier
Max mnths.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
He was hurt. Uh.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
They needed somebody who could play he is in the
miners with San Francisco Miguel Vargus. When Miguel Vargas first
came up, the projection was he was going to be
a star. And I do believe that the Dodgers, better
than any organization, understands someone's ceiling, and for whatever reason,
they see that ceiling far earlier than most people. Miguel
(08:29):
Vargus had an opportunity and he couldn't he couldn't convert it,
and a lot was expected of him, perhaps unfairly so,
so they sent him to the miners. All right, he
came back up, he was, Okay, what are you laughing about?
Speaker 1 (08:44):
No, I'm just I'm just saying it. Just it's not
as simple as that.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
And I know we're going through this and you know
as oh, he's sitting this and this is the paper
on paper is this and that Everything has a situation
to it, right, and everybody has an environment too it.
So if you take and look at a certain player
at a certain time, they could be either up or
down when when they were released or gotten rid of
(09:11):
or traded for DFAD or whatever it may be. I mean,
if we really want to go into it, they should
have gotten really Gavin Lux ten times if you really
want to, if you really want to analyze this, because
it's it's really a skew in a way that however
you want to make it. It's like polls and politics.
You can skew it and make it any way you
(09:32):
want it to, you know, to show in your favor.
There are other people, you know, they could have got
rid of Max Muncie over time, given his performance and
what he did, what he did over a period of
time since he came back or since he came back
from injury, or what he did, you know, starting off
a season. I mean, you could do that with everyone,
(09:55):
and so I just think it's a little bit it's
a little bit unfair. You know, Jack does a great job,
but it's a little bit unfair to kind of look
at these guys now and go, oh, that's why they
got rid of them, Oh you should have kept them
or not. Alvarez, I mean, did everybody If everybody knew
Alvarez gonna be Alvarez from Houston, then why did.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
The Dodger get rid of him? Well, they screwed up.
They sent the wrong Alvarez. That was on them. But
my point here, Rodney is this, And I think what
you're saying is is well taken. But my point is
that I don't understand the system they use, but somehow
they have a pretty good feeling about a player's ceiling.
(10:36):
So Munsey, for example, Yeah, they could have moved him.
Perhaps they should have moved him in the minds of
some back then, but they thought he had a higher ceiling.
Gavin Lux, Yeah, David Vassy said earlier in the year,
around the trade deadline or earlier prior to that, what
would you include Gavin Lux in the trade?
Speaker 1 (10:56):
You know what? He said? Nobody would take him.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Yeah, nobody would take them, okay, but the Dodgers, for whatever,
in their own way, he thought he had a higher ceiling. Now,
on the topic of Miguel Vargas, he' said in one
twenty two with the White Sox, and he wasn't killing
the ball here. He was a guy projected by most
(11:18):
people to be very, very good, and he still could be.
But the Dodgers thought he hit that ceiling. They went
and got Nick Ahmed as a placeholder. He's in the
miners with San Diego. Ahmed Rozario was here for a
cup of coffee. I don't even know if he unpacked
before he left, they signed him and gone, he's a Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
My point is that it's a crap shoot. Yes, you
can look at the analytics. Oh they have a ceiling.
Did Corey Seger hit his ceiling?
Speaker 1 (11:44):
What? Now? There there?
Speaker 2 (11:46):
That's that's just a little different. That's a little different.
Here's why Corey Seeger everybody knew did not hit his ceiling.
But what they did with Corey Seeger was make a
business decision. They didn't he didn't hit a ceiling. Oh
my god, we know that, but they made a business decision.
Was it the wrong decision? I think if we talked
(12:09):
to a number of Dodger fans, they would say absolutely
that was the wrong call. But look at the roster now,
Freddie Freeman's here, Mookie Batts is here. I mean, Jaskar
Hernande is having a hell of a year. Nobody expected that,
not this kind of year, but he's having it. So yeah,
(12:30):
Corey Seeger was not a guy that hit his ceiling.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
He had injury concerns, right, Fred, I mean that.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Was absolutely true. And if you're signing a guy to
a long term deal for that much money, I'm sure
that played into it Cody Bellinger, Let's use that one. Yeah,
do they think he hit his ceiling because they didn't
sign him to the big deal. They didn't sign him
to the big deal. And I would ask you, as
we watch Cody in Chicago and he's had some injury
(12:55):
problems there as well, is he the super star player
that people initially thought he would be here? I would say, no,
he's not. I would say he's a very good player
when healthy. Yeah, but I would not say he is
a superstar player. So they felt in their mind that
(13:17):
was his ceiling. Look at poor James Paxton. What did
he do wrong here?
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Nothing? He did nothing wrong here. He was good.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
He was an arm that gave them length. He was
a guy that kept them in it early. Yeah, right, yeah,
he was they asked him to do. He did nothing wrong, nothing,
that was it. They probably felt he couldn't help them
(13:47):
in the way they needed to be helped anymore. They
really have a fascinating way of assessing someone's ceiling, getting
everything they can out of him.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Let me ask you this, Yeah, let me have you Yeah, No,
I get it, just giving within the last put it
this way going into this postseason, right right going into
this postseason because you never know, I mean, every nobody
has a crystal ball. I'm just clarifying with that, Yep,
(14:23):
a pinch hit situation because I'm I'm because the word
you know. Obviously, Jason Hayward was let go because Chris
Taylor was coming back. Pretty much, he was DFA because
Chris Taylor's coming back, and we love, we love Chris Taylor.
CT three has come through and big moments for the
Dodgers over the years and their World Series run even
(14:45):
years before that. To get to the World Series, he
made big plays not only with his bat but also
with his glove. So he's got a history with the Dodgers.
But this year, going into you know, this year, going
into the playoffs and a critical situation in the bottom
of the eighth, the bottom of the ninth, you gotta
pinch hit someone. Are you pinch hitting Chris Taylor? You
(15:07):
pinch it in Jason Hayward.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Have I got to put somebody in? Yeah, Well give
him what he did. The last time I about to hit.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Jason had but that was the last time he was up.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Now, Chris Taylor's in eighty I know.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
I know, I know.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
I'm just saying this year, this year, well, right now,
it's gonna be Chris Taylor because that's.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
What we got.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
You know though, just like with the Dodgers season, Fred,
everything's judged in the playoffs, right If Hayward comes through
in a big spot for the Astros and cet three
does it for the Dodgers, that's what people are.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Gonna remember, all right, They're gonna remember, and they're gonna
remember that last time Jay Hey was in the the
last few times he was put in that situation where
he came through, and and that is is going to
be And first of all, it is all going to
be blamed on Dave Roberts. We know that that he
(16:07):
let Jay hag but that's.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
His fault.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
No, but but we know that's what the fans are
going to say if.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Dave Roberts fire Dave Roberts.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Yes, yes, that's what the fans are going to say, Dave.
It was Dave roberts decision to let Jay a go.
That's what people are going to say. They said it
right after he left when they when they d fad him,
it was like, oh, what is what is Dave Roberts doing?
Speaker 1 (16:34):
He just hit a home run to put him ahead
or to win the game?
Speaker 3 (16:38):
What are we doing? So yeah, it is going to
be in the mind of the fans. It's like they
screwed up. So you you you can't First of all,
you can't win if you're Andrew Freeman and Dave Roberts.
But also giving where these two players are, yes, and
and Chris Taylor is starting to come on, and thank
god he is. But in that in the moment, in
(17:03):
the moment, right now, would you have up, well, right now,
I'd have Chris Taylor. Okay, I don't have any choice.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
You have a choice. I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
If you have a choice, I'm going with Chris Taylor. Okay, Okay, you.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
Just said Jason Hayward like a minute ago.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
I can't.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Yeah, I know, listen, I'm going all right, my decision
is made. Jason Taylor. I'll have a little of each
of them.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Jason, who you want to talk about? A switch hitter here?
I thought he played defensive end for the Miami Dolphins.
That Jason Taylor?
Speaker 2 (17:43):

(19:02):
for being with us every single day. All right, I
told you we have Dodger tickets to give away. Right,
but Adam has just reached out to me and indicated,
now we have Raiders Chargers tickets for Sunday to giveaway.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
Is that right, Adam? What we do?
Speaker 4 (19:16):
We are your Chargers' station of records, So give them away, Fred,
what caller?
Speaker 1 (19:21):
We're gonna give them away right now?
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Right now.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
We got Dodger tickets every hour. We gotta start giving
away some stuff now earlier in the show.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Let me call a number three right now, Adam, let's go, well,
that's that all right?
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Eight six, six, nine, eighty seven, two five seventy. You're
going to see the Chargers and Raiders on Sunday of SOFI.
Caller three, Adam, let us know who won? Because that
was quick. Maybe we should have had a production.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Meeting on that. Just's do it right now, ducts and smuduction.
We don't need no mo nuction reading all right, good
good luck? Holde you in that.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
We're still giving away Dodger tickets. You know what with
us Rodney and this show, it's feast or famine. That's
saying Friday, Fred, do you forget what Fridays are? Yeah,
we don't care. Anything goes. That's why Adam jumped in
and say, hey, we got tickets, Raiders, Chargers, Come on, y'all,
we got tickets. Anything goes on a Friday. You never
know what's gonna happen. Right, Well, good luck so Chiefs
(20:16):
and Ravens last night. Pretty exciting game. Here's one of
my takeaways. And I don't know if we'll see this
throughout the rest of the league. My god, Kansas City
is fast.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
They are lightning quick, and it seems it doesn't matter
who's playing with Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
They look pretty good.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
Rodney, Yeah, you'll make him make a lot of folks
look good. In fact, they end up getting you know,
the fastest guy ever at the combine. Who you know
recorded the fastest time. I don't know if you remember.
It went viral. The guy ran a second time and
he ran the fastest ever and he's playing for his
first touch for Kansas City was a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Speed kills. I mean, you put quality first of all.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
They got a you know, Hall of Coach might be
you know, go down at the end when it's all
said and done, might be the best ever. And you know,
puts a lot of guys in situations to succeed. And
you got a quarterback that can uh do a lot
of different things extremely well, and you give you give
(21:19):
him a guy and give him some weapons. You getta
get guys with speed. It's like they forgot about Tyreek
Hill when he was there, Like yeah, it's like it
doesn't really matter.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
No, it's like he never existed. They got guys as fast.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
Yeah, we get we'll get another guy that can run,
and it'll he'll do the same thing. And they put
him in positions to to succeed, and and they did,
and and he is I mean just a confidence level
for that first game for them to do what they did,
It's like, Okay, the question was the receiving Corps did
(21:56):
they have experience? And they lost so many guys and
it's just like enterchain every single year. But they keep
rolling different guys in and they're all successful because they
got number fifteen pulling the trigger and he'll he'll make
a lot of guys look good.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
I don't know how much experience you need. If you're
that fast, you just run by everybody.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Yeah, but you got to be a little bit tough
and you gotta be a little bit crafty. There have
been fast guys in the past, but you've got to
have a little sense. And I think in that system
with Andy Reid, they learn how to actually play football
and and and learn how to get open. And if
you get open, Patrick Mahomes gonna find you. Who's the
fastest guy you ever played with? It couldn't catch?
Speaker 1 (22:39):
Who is it? You play with? James Jet?
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Rodney, Oh I'm not even Adam, stop it, stop it.
I did play with James Jet and at the Raiders.
He could run faster than anybody. He was but he
actually could catch. Believe it or not, you could catch,
So I was not gonna put him in that category
of guys that can catch. There was another guy in
Philadelphia play with. He was actually his nickname was the Jet.
(23:03):
I can't even remember his name. Actually his name was.
The nickname was the Jet self imposed nickname by the
way that he was called.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Himself the Jet. You get run. But yeah, no, he
really couldn't couldn't catch all.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
Right, Were there guys, let me just ask this. Were
there guys when you played you dropped back, you'd look
and that guy was so open it wasn't even funny.
I mean, you knew this guy. This guy had a
clear path and just for a split second, because you
don't have a lot of time back there, you thought,
oh God, is he gonna catch it?
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Were there guys like that? Yeah, there were a number
of guys like that, and God bless them. I love
you know the look. I had great relationships with all
the guys I played with. And there are guys that
couldn't get on the field because they couldn't catch. They
were fast, but they couldn't catch. One of one of
the guys that you thought, Okay, he's gonna be a superstar,
(23:59):
but he can only do one thing, and that's return kicks.
And we had a guy in Detroit named mel Gray.
Mel Gray was fantastic. I remember mel Gray. Mel Gray, Yeah,
mel Gray, Oh my god. Mel Gray could run with anybody.
And mel Gray was such a weapon. From from a
(24:20):
special team standpoint, we would often get the ball starting
at the forty fifty yard line because mel Gray would
return the kickoff to the fifty yard line if he
wasn't going all the way to the house. But mel
Gray was also our fifth or sixth receiver at some point,
and mel Gray would sometimes get in the game and
(24:41):
mel Gray couldn't necessarily catch as good as other receivers,
so he didn't get the full playing time because he
couldn't necessarily run the great routes, and then his catching
ability wasn't there. But returning kicks, mel Gray was as
good as anybody.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Yeah he was. He was all right.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
So let's go back to the game. So Kansas City
lightning quick and of course the game comes down to
the very end, because that's how those games do. Great
games in the NFL makes it so exciting. Baltimore's got
a chance to win. Lamar Jackson drops back, and a
problem was the Ravens used some timeouts early, so they
didn't have a lot of timeouts, but they were on
(25:25):
a timeouts basically. But they're moving down the field and
now they got a shot. Lamar Jackson drops back. You
can see on the television angle the receivers wide open
in the end zone. I mean wide open, and Lamar
Jackson just happened to throw it the wrong way and
I don't know if he thought the guy was going
(25:46):
to turn in and he turned out looking like a fan.
Because if you talk to any quarterback, Gunny, this is
what we need. Any quarterback. It's like, you don't run
through his own. It was zone coverage. You don't run
through the zone good from a quarterback standpoint, when you're open, stop, sit,
(26:08):
don't keep moving. And I guarantee you Lamar thought he
was going to sit in that open area, and he
kept running through it, as if Lamar because Lamar is
Lamar is looking at the entire defense. He's looking ahead
of the receiver to see who's out in front of him.
(26:29):
That's gonna knock his head off.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
So I don't want to lead him into a safety
that is really ready to put him in concussion protocol.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
So I want to stop him with the ball. I
want to keep him in that open area.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
And oftentimes, especially with young receivers, they see open area,
they just gonna keep running through it. Not saying it
was because I don't know the player, I don't know
what the situation. All I looked at is going. I've
been there before where I thought the receiver was going
to just stop up and stay right there in the
open area, and he kept running. And I know every
(27:06):
morning morning quarterback out there it was like Lamar missed
a wide open guy. But I tell you, every quarterback
looking at that play is going, God, he should have stopped.
Why didn't he just stop in the open area and
just give Lamar an open target, show his numbers, give
him a target to throw at.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
All right, that's why it's good you're here because you
can explain those things, because most people don't know that.
But then they get another crack at it. They go again,
and he passes and the receiver makes a fantastic catch
near the back of the end zone.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
I mean, it was a great catch at athletic and
a great throw.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
It came down with what appeared to be both feet
in official signals, touchdown, and we're gonna go for it,
and Baltimore was going to go for a two point
conversion to win the game, which.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
I respect. There was no hesitation, hardball and they were
all two points. Let's go for two, go for two,
let's go go for two.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
All right.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
So that's it. Everybody's excited. The Ravens are going to
run on into the field and attempt a two point conversion.
But wait a minute, we're gonna review this. We're going
to review this. So here's the review. Here's the review.
They look at it and you can clearly see whether
(28:38):
you want to acknowledge it or not. If you don't
have any skin in the game, you acknowledge it. If
you're from Kansas City, you certainly acknowledge it. If you
are rooting for the Ravens, you should acknowledge it, but
you don't. And the reality is his toe was on
the line. He was out of bounds, clear right, Yeah, okay,
(29:02):
he's out of bounds. Yeah, the toll was out right,
and it was. You could tell in the replay after
the game. The raven said he wasn't out of bounds?
What he wasn't out of bounds. We don't understand this.
We don't even understand. First somebody said, I don't even
know why they looked at it. Okay, well they're gonna.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
Look at it. And then well, wait, who said they?
They one the somebody. I don't even why they did.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
They look at They look at every scoring of course
they do. They've been doing that for ten years now.
Every scoring player has looked at and reviewed. Right, So
of course there was that, and then there was this.
I don't really care what it said he was in bounds.
I don't even care that it showed he was out
of bounds.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
He was in bounds. I thought, guys, wow, Wow. Yeah,
I don't care what it showed. He was in bounds. No,
nobody said. Nobody said that from the Raven spread. Nobody
said that from the dam.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
They really say that he did battles right after the
game ended.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Okay, so he didn't see the replay when he said.
Speaker 4 (30:15):
That, or its denying video evidence.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Stadium saw the replay. Yeah, everybody saw the replay. Yeah,
even if you're a Raven fan, you're a Raven loyalist.
His doe was on the white.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
Here's the exact quote, Lamar Jackson. I thought it was
a touchdown. I still think it's a touchdown. That's what
he said immediately postgame unquote.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Okay, well it wasn't and that was and that and
that wraps up the opener for the NFL.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
UH.
Speaker 2 (30:51):
Coming up next hour of Vinnie bon Signior will be along.
We'll talk about the Raiders and Chargers, and we'll talk
about the matchup between the Lions and the Rams, which
on Sunday Number one gets the NBC primetime spot that

both of those teams. And that's coming up. Also, Lewis
and Pomona, Way to go. You are going to the
(31:12):
game Sunday. Yes, yeah, uh, you know, it is really hot.
We're gonna do this later in the show, but it
is really really hot. So sunstroke, What does that mean?
Speaker 1 (31:32):
And what should you do?
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Because people are gonna be out this weekend, let's just
talk about that.

(32:44):

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Come on? Why not? Fred? Why not? What caller number?
I like? Five? May call five. You've been in the funk.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
House, Fred five, eight six six nine eight seven two
five seventy caller five. Right now you're going to see
the Dodgers all right up. The weather and the temperatures
have been stifling, stifling, and being back in La yesterday,
the problem there is that it's hot and humid. It
(33:13):
sort of suffocates you. Ooh, and it's not getting any cooler.
I mean, if you're out in the desert, you know it's,
honest to God, it's one hundred and seventeen degrees at least.
But when you're in La, I don't say it. Don't say, oh,
but it's a dry heat. It's weird, Rodney. I never
really realized it, because when you're in La and it's
(33:33):
one hundred, it seems like it's one hundred and twenty.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
It is hot. So why do I bring all of
this up?
Speaker 2 (33:38):
With the weekend coming and people want it to be
outside and it's still going to be hot.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
There is a.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Difference between heat stroke and heat exhaustion, and honestly, more
people die because of heat stroke than you imagine. So
what are the things you need to know? Number one,
you've got to stay hydrated if you're going to be outside.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
It's not a joke. You can't think, well, I've had
enough water.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
If you're going to walk around in heat that's one
hundred and seven degrees and seventy percent humidity for a
couple of hours, you need fluid. Make sure you're hydrated.
And I'm sure every one of our drivers, that our listeners,
I'm sure jumping in and out of their trucks right now, Rodney,
they've got a lot of water with them, because it
can really get you. If you feel a throbbing headache
(34:32):
and a strong rapid pulse and you're thinking this will
never happen to me, okay, well you can think that.
You could experience confusion, slurred speech, and nausea. You've got
a problem that is heat stroke. And if you've got
heat stroke, you need to get to a hospital or
(34:53):
an urgent care immediately, immediately. Do not fool around with
it's going to be hot this weekend. If you have
heat exhaustion, It'll make you feel faint and dizzy. You'll sweat,
your pulse will be pretty weak. If you have that,
(35:15):
get somewhere cool and drink water and take a cold
shower if you can. So you know, it's not often
we have to give these kinds of warnings or talk
about this, roddeney. But if you walk around to that heat,
you can't start feeling dizzy and you don't realize it.
And that's the other thing. When you are in the
sun too long and the end the sun is bearing
(35:38):
down on you and it's hot, oftentimes you don't know
there's a problem until it's too late.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Have you known people like that?
Speaker 3 (35:46):
Yeah, yeah, you don't know until someone passes out or
you know, you've got to rush somebody to the hospital,
and you think you can fight it. Oh, the heat's
no big deal. I can handle it, I don't you know.
I don't need to be you know, wearing a hat
or anything like that, and all of a sudden, you
(36:06):
start to feel faint, you start to start to feel dizzy,
and next thing you know, that person passes out.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
So yeah, it can hit you immediately.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
So you've got to take precautions for that, so it's
a good public service announcement.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
Fred, for sure.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
You just know the difference between sunstroke or heat stroke
and exhaustion. There is a difference. But if you are
suffering any of the symptoms I gave you off the top,
then you need to take care of that right now.
It's nothing to fool around with. If you feel that way,
it's not well. I'll just get out of the sun
a few minutes and feel better.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
You won't.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
You will actually get worse. So please please make sure
you take care of yourself this weekend because we watch
you back here with us on Monday. And James and Anaheim,
way to go. You're going to the Dodger game. You
