(00:00):
Welcome to the Roy West Show.I'm your host, Zach Styles. We
always have the best guests and thisshow is just like all the others and
that we always aim to impress. And we're just gonna kick it right off
with the one and only drumroll please, Travis Walker, Summer three sixty,
(00:21):
All Saints, Welcome to the show, Travis. Thanks Zach, I appreciate
you having me back, man,you know, we love having you on
the show. I'm folks, ifyou're listening by radio, I have mustache
envy of this man, so Ijust want to go ahead and get that
out there before we get started,so it's not awkward for everybody, but
this man's mustache, I'm telling you, it's it's legendary. So thank you,
(00:46):
oh man, All Saints. Talkingabout Summer three sixty, man,
I mean it's already here again. It's crazy. Yeah, it really has
flown by, and we're you know, we open registration more first, and
you know, we we've really beenchrugging along and now we're here and we've
got some some more camps available andwe're hoping that a lot of different people
(01:08):
in the Beaumont community get to takeadvantage of summer through sixty that's the goal.
Yeah, absolutely. I mean y'allhave so many camps for like all
the different age groups, which issuper cool. Travis, what's the website
where people can check this out?Yeah, so you should definitely go to
Summer three sixty BMT dot com.You can find all of our information there,
(01:32):
but specifically a lot of people areinterested in our specialty camps. We
rolled out thirty two camps and lastweek I actually added two more, so
we're we're rolling out thirty four campsthis summer. H Those run Monday through
Thursday from June fifth to the lastweek of June. But we're actually all
summer long camp nine weeks. Wehave something available for all age troops,
(01:57):
so we've got all going on.We're busy during the summer. Yeah.
I love it, and like Iknow, like my son he signed up
for one of the camps, likeLego Mania. I mean, heck,
I want to take that, Likethat just sounds fun, you know.
Yeah. I don't know what y'allare gonna do, but it involves legos
and hanging out with friends. Imean, who wouldn't want to do that?
Yeah, Yeah, we've got ourspecial camps are super diverse, Like
(02:22):
it's pretty typical to have sports camps, which we definitely have a lot of
sports camps, specifically for middle school. We've got a lot of coaches coming
on that want to work with ourmiddle schoolers on their sports skills. But
we also have a lot of justcool, interesting camps, like Summer Abroad
is actually a host of our Spanishteacher in kindergarten teacher here at All Saints,
and they go from Lebanon to Spain. I mean, they go all
(02:45):
over the world in that camp, the Summer Abroad Camp. So, and
then we have all of our MakerSpaces camps really focusing on science and stem
which is something really important. Wegot a cooking camp. I mean,
we got a ton of different campsthat really piqued the interests of a lot
of different age groups. And Ithink a lot of people kind of think
(03:06):
of Summer three sixty as just foryounger kids, But like I said,
we do have camps for middle schoolersthat that people should really check out as
well. Keep your camper, keepyour middle school or really engaged throughout the
summer. It's really easy for themto dive into a screen. But this
is a really good opportunity to getaround some people that are their age and
(03:27):
hop into a camp and have somefun. Well yeah, and you bring
up a great point. I mean, because you know, when kids aren't
active or they're not involved, they'renot doing something, that's usually when kids
start, you know, getting introuble on this, that, and the
other. So keep your your middleschool or engaged over the summer. Don't
let them just go play video games, as much fun as that can be,
(03:47):
you know. I mean I'm lookingat some of these. Y'all got
basketball camps for six to eighth graders. You got baseball and softball skills camps.
So I mean you're even you know, catering to maybe even one of
the sports that you're kid plays orthe kid plays to keep them kind of
fresh. Y're in the off seasonand things like that, So give it
a look. I mean, they'vestill got some availability, but they're filling
(04:10):
up pretty quick. Count Travis.Yeah, it's it's been kind of overwhelming
the amount of uh, you know, praise and welcoming that the Beaumont community
has given us. We do havea lot of camps that are full,
that are wait list only. Istill do encourage people to join the wait
list because even now we have peoplethat change their plans and I you know,
fix their registration for them and wemake it work for them. But
(04:34):
you never know when that's going tohappen. So definitely still jump on a
wait list if your heart is seton a specific camp. But uh,
yeah, we do have some fullcamps. We've got some low availability camps.
All of that is on the websiteas well, but we also still
have quite a few camps that areyou know, have some space available.
So depending on the age group, you should definitely dive in and take a
(04:55):
look. Yeah. Absolutely, Andone of the things that I really like
about y'all's program is know we've kindof hit it, but I mean there
is something for everybody, So it'snot just you know, your typical sports
and things like that. I meanyou'll have kind of gotten like gone out
of maybe your comfort zones and allthat kind of stuff to really pull in
some cool camps that I mean movingand makeing. I Mean, I'm getting
(05:15):
excited about reading some of these Christmasin June. I mean who doesn't want
that? You know, I'm reallycreative, creative ideas here and then one
other thing. You know, there'swebsites super easy to navigate and kind of
look at, but they've got allthe things on what to wear, what
to bring, you know, registeringand frequently ask questions and things like that.
So really it's a one stop shop. And so once, when did
(05:41):
these kickoff again? Travis? Yeah, so are We're running from June fifth
to August fourth. And another thingthat I haven't really spoken much about is
we do have the camp side ofSummer three sixty, but we also have
the Summer club side, which Ilike to say is our premium day camp
experience. And so let's say thatyou're camper can't get into one of the
specialty camps, or they just wantto have general summer fun. Summer Club
(06:05):
is that that premium day camp experience. We have morning Rally to start off
the day, which is essentially aPEP rally. Every morning, we raise
the camp flag, We do allthe fun group games and whatnot, and
then we go into a schedule thatis tailored to each age group, and
so we have crafts, we haveoutside time, we have inside play.
(06:28):
We have counselors that are going tobe leading games and getting people to interact
with each other and whatnot. Andthen in July and that last week of
August that we're open, we havea bunch of what I like to call
special fun days. And so ifyou go over to the Summer Club page
on the website, you can seethe Special Experience or the Special Fun days.
(06:50):
And so these are the days wherewe've got inflatables in the gym.
We've got Gator Country coming out todo a show. We're gonna have water
Day, We're gonna have a lasertag, We're gonna have a foam party,
an archery tag, we have anannual summer dance that we like to
put on. We have we're gonnahave a video game truck come out.
And then we've got ice cream comingout as well. And something I added
(07:13):
today, we're gonna have a PinataFiesta. So we're gonna bust open some
piatas a couple of days throughout thesummer. So we've got some of the
special experience days that really excite thecampers and keep them looking forward to the
next thing. It's not the sameold thing every single day. We've always
got something to look forward to withinthe week, and then within the summer
(07:33):
as well. Yeah, that's awesome. So as far as that goes the
summer club, you can find anotherwebsite that's still gonna be pre K three
through sixth grade. Yeah, sothe day camp is pKa three through sixth
grade with the specialty camps do haveseventh and eighth grade camps. The summer
(07:56):
club side doesn't. Some serve seventhand eighth grade. We found that it's
not much of a need, buteveryone else really needs that you know,
experience and that care. Uh andso we we do serve all of those
groups. It's really important for pKathree in pKa four, we do require
that all of those uh, thosecampers are fully potty trained. That that's
(08:18):
an essential piece to not only toSummer three sixty but all Saints in general.
So fully potty trained is the keyand then uh pKa three p K
four eligible. So yeah, goodman, So I gotta ask. I
mean, I know that All Saintshas had these programs or something kind of
like this, but talk to mejust we have a little bit of time
(08:39):
about like yours, the concept ofSummer three sixty and kind of how you
came up with that, because Iknow you've kind of done a lot with
your team there to kind of bringthis to a little bit more expanded offerings
and also a little bit more kindof fine tuned. Yeah. Absolutely,
there is quite a bit of historyin the summer programming at All Saints.
(09:01):
It when I came on in Januaryof twenty twenty two, previously All Saints
was hosting really two separate summer programs, and so there was one summer program
that was kind of just like aday camp, so like comparable to Summer
Club, but that was closed toAll Saints students. And then there it
(09:24):
was also what was called Summer Explorers, which is more comparable to the specialty
camps, and that was open tothe community. So that that's been kind
of a community thing for for awhile, and so when I came on,
I felt like that was fragmented, and so I unified those programs,
opened it up to the Beaumont communitybecause I felt like it was an incredible
(09:45):
Beaumont, incredible resource that Beaumont couldreally utilize in a special way, and
so unified the program opened it upto the Beaumont community, and uh and
then just expanded and really hailored theprogram to fit Beaumont's needs and fit All
Saints needs and give people on AllSaints campus to really see how beautiful it
(10:07):
is. And also some people don'tknow we're here, and this tuck tucked
behind little corner if you've ever beento All Saints and so get him on
campus and say, hey, youknow, this is a this is a
pretty fabulous school. We run afabulous school, but we also run a
fabulous summer program if that's all thatyou're interested in as well. Yeah,
and you know, my kids havebeen through it before. It It really
(10:31):
is a great experience. My kidsliterally every day whenever they've done in the
past, come home and they're like, today was the best day ever.
And then you the next day theycome home, I was like, well
how is today? You know,Buffalo, Today was the best day ever.
I mean so much to the pointof like they know where All Saints
is and they will literally will wedrive by it. It's like that's where
(10:52):
the summer camps are, you know. So I mean, y'all do whatever
y'all do there between the teachers andthe staff in your program, y'all just
do a fantastic job. Travis,we got about a minute left Where can
people go to find out more information? Where can they reach you know,
somebody to talk to a human onthe phone, give me all the uns.
(11:13):
Yeah, absolutely, if you wantto, just if you're a reader
and want to go read the information, you can go to Sumber three sixty
bmt dot com. You will findall the information there. The faq s
page is a really good page andthere's some videos throughout the website as well.
If you'd like to talk to me, you can call the school at
four zero nine eight nine two oneseven five five you. I might not
(11:37):
be at my desk because I doa lot of different things, but I
will return your phone call. Andif you definitely want a quick response,
email, I'm really quick at email, which is t Walker at All Saints
Dash Beaumont dot org. You willget a quick response there as well.
Awesome, Travis, Thank you somuch for being on the Showmman. Folks,
stay tuned. We got more onthe Royal West Show. Thanks again,
(11:58):
Travis, thank you. Welcome tothe Royal West Show. I'm your
host, Zach Styles. We alwayshave the best guests and today is no
different. We've had a great showso far. We're gonna keep it going
with the one and only Jesse Leewith for the Love of Foods. Jesse,
(12:18):
how are you today? I'm great? How about you? Good?
Good? It's a great day inwonderful Southeast Texas and Jesse. You know,
my days are often the best partof my day is going too.
For Love of Foods, I mean, I love what y'all do there.
So for those people that don't knowwhat for the love of Foods is,
(12:41):
talk to me a little bit aboutwhat that is and once y'all offer here
in Southeast Texas well, for theLove of Foods is a one stop shop
healthy food restaurant. We have threelocations. We have one in Beaumont,
one in Mid County and now wehave a new location which is of Lumberton.
It is pre may healthy meals.I mean we have we do all
(13:03):
the work for you. We havebreakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks.
I mean I'm talking about We haveyou know, vacuum sill, healthy cauliflower
crusted pizzas. We have everything fromsnacks and sandwiches, fruit, you name
it. We have its movies.Just like I said, a one stop
(13:24):
shop healthy food restaurant. Yeah, and you know what I love about it?
Is not only is it healthy okay, but it's delicious all right.
I mean I'm talking And the menuchanges all the time. But one of
my favorite things like you're stuffed likepeppers, or you'll do your you know,
casidias and you've got great breakfast options, but then you've got the snacks
(13:46):
with like the hummus and just allthe things. Jesse, where do people
like? Where would people go tosee this menu that's kind of always changing
every week. We have a Facebook. We also have a website face books
for the Love of Foods place book, and we also have dow dot for
(14:07):
the Love of foodstx dot com.You can go there and see our menu.
We do change our menu up twicea week. I am my fond
believe I am very passionate about whatI do from eating, fitness and everything
else. But eating healthy is veryhard. But you don't eat the same
thing over and over again, sowe change our In Europe twice a week.
(14:31):
We offer about twenty to twenty twodifferent options a week on meals alone.
Of options like we have vegan options, we have vegetarian, we have
meat lovers, we have chicken,we have low car high cop I mean
and you name it, we haveit. It's not just a diet for
the love of foods. We highlybelieve it's skipped the diet Jesse eat healthy.
(14:52):
But we want to be able togive you a little bit of everything,
something for everybody. It's even kidfriendly. We have snacks for children.
I mean, my daughter eats thefood every single day. It's great.
Yeah. Yeah. And one thingthat a lot of people may or
(15:13):
may not know, but the smoothiesare just absolutely out of this world and
they're fresh. And what I reallylike about it is you have the smoothies,
but then you also have a listof like, okay, if you're
trying to like, I don't know, trim fat, or if you're trying
to skip a meal, or you'retrying to do whatever. You know,
y'all kind of like got a smoothiefor that. Yes, he damn.
(15:35):
I mean it's and it's all naturaland it's organic. It's great for you.
I mean instead of using you know, medicine or things like that to
say if you're bloating. I mean, we have a smoothie for that.
But what's great is not just wehave a new product now that we call
the Bild the shots, so it'slittle shots. It's about three point five
(15:58):
ounces of juice that there's some that'sfor inflammation. We have some for like
your blood pressure. We have stufffor like water, weight and bloating,
a lot of options if you goin, we actually have a list.
A'sh just grab and go, soit's very convenient. We also have fresh
pressure juices that's grab and go,so it's you know, it's not just
(16:21):
people always believe that healthy food isn'tconvenient, you know. I mean healthy
food can beef like fast food people, Oh fast food, it's easy and
convenient. Well, healthy can betoo as well. For the love foods,
that's what we offer. I mean, you can walk in if you're
in a hurry, because I knowI am. I'm a busy mom,
so I'm working and everything else,so I don't really have time to you
(16:45):
know, to honestly sit and ordermy food and whatnot. But you can
walk in any vocations love of food, grab anything. We have the mile
snacks and every thing, and wehave a microway, but you can heat
up there or you can actually bringit home and there's no limit. You
can walk in and grab ten mealsif you want or even twenty but and
(17:10):
then it's for the whole family.Yeah, And that's one thing that's really
cool too, is you can ifthe way that it works is so convenient
to where you just literally walk in, like you grab whatever you want,
you pay to go wherever your destinationis, heat it up, or like
if you even want to do apicnic with the kids, you know,
grab a couple of different things, heat it up there and then go to
(17:33):
Rogers Park or wherever and have anice healthy food, right, I mean,
and then kids love it too,you know. And the pizzas are
you know, next level, andyou can get a qualifier crust if you
want. I mean, so there'sjust so many different options and it can
literally be like you could go inand stock up for five days worth the
lunches if you wanted to, andyou're like good to go. So,
(17:55):
I mean, that's one easy thingfor listeners if you want to go in
and try that, and then talka little bit about maybe some of your
cleanses that you do. Jesse,we do a great cleanse. It's a
we do a three day and afive day cleanse. It helps you kind
of jump start your body kind ofreboot it and Hay cleanse everything out.
I know you've done one, right, and I think Roy has done one
(18:18):
as well. And yeah, okay, so we it's just juices. So
it's basically juices. It's a threeor five days worth of juices, a
snack, and a meal, andwe provide everything for you. So we
do do the detoxes once a monthor sometimes twice a month. We'll put
(18:41):
on our Facebook and our website lettingyou know you can sign up for the
detox. It's incredible. I meanI've worked on this recipe for years.
I used to order it from othercompanies and trying to and then I've kind
of tweaked to made it work andthings like that. But it's it's great.
I mean the results are phenomenon.I mean people are losing weight,
(19:03):
losing I mean you lose weight inches, feeling less bloated. And I do
at least once a month. Imean that's just I feel incredible after I
do it. Yeah, I knowRoy has done it, and he's had
nothing but wonderful things to say aboutit. I keep saying I'm gonna do
it. I haven't done it,but I'm gonna do one. One of
these days and it's gonna be amazing, So then I can do Maybe I'll
(19:23):
do them before and after. We'llget together after I do it, and
I'll tell everybody how amazing it was. Roy does it and he loves them.
And really, folks, if you'relooking for an option that's going to
be delicious and healthy, you reallycan't go wrong for the local foods Jesse.
Where are your locations? We havethree. We have the Mid County.
(19:44):
One is twenty five zero five nearLynn Avenue. We have one on
Called Avenue which is ninety five. Our newest location is Lummerton which is seven
zero one North Main Street. Perfect. So really, anywhere that y'all want
to go to have delicious for thelove of food, you can go.
Um. And like I said earlierand she said, okay, talk to
(20:10):
me a little bit about that. You can go on our website and click
on whatever location. We also becausealso delivered the food to your house,
which is awesome. Um. Ithink it's like a five mile radius from
each location, which is great.Um. So there's no excuse and we
have a drive through curvesize service,so there's no excuse to not eat healthy.
(20:33):
That's right. So quit making excuses, folks. There's no healthy.
It's delicious. It tastes wonderful.I can attest to it because I have
it on a weekly basis because it'sway too close to my office. But
it's so good. Um, Jesse, thank you so much for being on
the show. We have about aminute left. Um. If people want
to learn a little bit more.If they had questions, where's the best
(20:55):
place for them to go? Youcan't go on our Facebook and leave it
a message. Facebook is for thelove of foods and then y'a also gets
our website, which is for thelove of food tx dot com perfect.
So if you have questions or ifyou want to look at their menu and
see what they have to offer, definitely check them out. Shoot. You
(21:17):
can have them deliver to your officetoo, which is a great idea.
So well cool, Jesse. Well, thank you again for being on the
show. We always appreciate having youon and all the amazing things you're doing
to keep us healthy in Southeast Texas. Thank you so much, Jesse.
Thank you more coming on the RoyalWest Show. Stay tuned, Welcome back
(21:41):
to the Royal West Show. I'myour host, Zach Styles We've had a
great show so far and we're gonnakeep it going. We got the amazing
Bart Foster with us. He's withBill Clark, Bug Spurts and welcome to
the show. Bart, Thank you, thanks for having me on. Well,
you know, it's just great tohave you. We're super excited to
(22:02):
learn a little bit about a littlebit more, I should say, because
I think everybody knows who Book Barkis in the area, but for those
that live under a rock, Bart, why don't you tell us a little
bit about what y'all do and howy'all service the Golden Drigal. Absolutely so.
We are Bill Clark Pest Control. We were started by mister Clark in
Beaumont in nineteen fifty seven. Weserve us roughly about a two hour radius
(22:25):
to the Louisiana state line over notquite to the Baytown area, but getting
almost two hours that direction up tothe lakes. And we provide almost everything
you would need for a home termitepest control. We do animal trapping,
just a wide variety of services forpest control needs. Fantastic. Can y'all
(22:45):
do not only I mean you dohousehold, residential, you do industrial,
you do some commercial, So y'allreally cover the whole gamut we do.
That's one of the really nice thingsabout this area is just the variety,
and for us, it's a greatplace to be. There's so many opportunities.
We service a lot of the majorindustry in the area, and then
of course residential homes and local businesses. Yeah, it's always good to see
(23:11):
around our office making sure that y'allare keeping us nice and safe from all
the critters and all those fun thingsthat like to go up in the night.
Talking about the fun things. Sowe're coming out of winter, right,
which we don't really have a hugewinter here, but let's call it
winter. Okay. So we're comingout of winter, we're moving into spring,
(23:33):
kind of into summer ish, whichkind of all starts becoming the same
thing here in Southeast Texas. Doyou have any recommendations pointers to, you
know, get people prepared for thisnew season. I think the main thing
is just, you know, goodmaintenance around your yard, keep the grass
mode, be cautious of what youstack up against the house. If we
create a good environment in our yard, we're gonna invite things to come up
(23:56):
and be near the house, whichleads to them getting in. So that's
probably one of the best things. And just watch. One advance about doing
your own yard work is you canlook for issues around your home and just
be aware of what's going on.Okay, yeah, that's true. You're
actually able to keep put your eyeson things that could be potentially be an
issue. Bart I gotta ask you, and I'm gonna put you on the
(24:18):
spot here and if you don't,if you don't know or have the answer,
it's all good. But this issomething that not being from Beaumont originally,
and I've been here for a longtime, but not originally, these
termite swarms that happen, you know, like in the summers and things like
that. What is the deal withthat? And I mean, is there
things that we can do differently? Is there's things we should do when they
(24:38):
are swarming? Oh, it's agreat question. So swarming is just a
natural thing that happens once a year. The main two types of termites we
have locally or down in the soil. But once a year they develop winged
individuals which fly out. They tryto pair up the whole ideas to start
a new colony. So it's anatural things. We can't do anything about
(24:59):
that at So what we need todo, though, is to be concerned
about the calming and the ground thatcan cause a lot of damage, and
with termites, because of the economicrisk to the home, you really do
want to be proactive. You don'twant to wait. You want to treat
your house preventative to keep from havingan issue, not wait till you get
damage, right, yeah, becauseonce you already have damage within, you're
(25:21):
pulling out the sheet rock, andyou're pulling out the wood and just all
the things that we all know thatthat can damage. So back to the
swarms, just real quick, justbecause if I have the question, maybe
one other person does. So whenthey are swarming, I mean, is
it good to turn out lights?I mean that they come to the lights?
Does that even matter? Yeah, you can. I mean having less
(25:42):
termites fly to your home is it'sa good thing. It's it's kind of
a misunderstanding. It's almost gotten theother way. Instead of be imparanid about
paranoid about the swarmers, people ofalmost said, well, don't worry about
them, and that's not really true. I mean, they don't themselves eat
wood, they don't know themselves fightor sting. Obviously they came from a
colony near your home, So yeah, turn off the lights is a good
(26:03):
thing. But the main thing isjust thinking about what can I do to
protect my home By doing a treatment, the swarmer should just as sign of
the termites that are already very abuddedin our area. Okay, got you,
got you? And I guess kindof leading to that for people that
may not know about the preventative things, what are some of the preventative things
(26:26):
that people can do. I don'tknow that there's the candidate through you put
around the house in that way,and there's some other preventative measures. Can
you kind of shed some light onthat. Absolutely. There's two main methods.
One is what's called a liquid treatment. In that case, a shallow
trench is made around the home andthe termitic side is placed in the trench.
And the idea is that as termitesare foraging, and they always are
(26:48):
foraging looking for food, that theyencounter that barrier and that it kills the
termites that are close to the home. And the option, the other option
is a termite baiting system. It'sa small plastic station that's put in around
the house. House. When thetermites feed on that bait, they share
that food among the whole colony andit will actually take out that colony.
But you want to keep the baitsin place because eventually new colonies are going
(27:08):
to try to move into the sameareas. So both are very very good
options, and you know, it'seither kind of your choice. The baits
have some advantages near water and sensitiveareas like that versus the liquids that they're
both very good products. Got youcool. So enough about termites. If
you all want more information, callBill Carr. They'll hook you up.
(27:30):
What about mosquitoes, because that's comingnext. So there's some things that y'all
do are able to do to treatmosquitos. What are your recommendations on that?
Yeah, probably, let's start withthe homeowner. One of the main
things you can do is try todump out any containers or any areas that
would hold water in and around thehome. A lot of the species that
we have get our yards or whatare called floodwater mosquitos, which means they
(27:52):
basically raise in puddles are small temporarybodies of water. So tarp on,
a mower in the back, orfirewood or plant pot anything that can hold
water for about five to seven dayscould raise mosquitos. So a lot of
our mosquitoes our own problem or fromour yard or right around us. Now,
as far as treatment, there aresome yard options. One of the
(28:15):
things we can do is come inand apply material to the underside of the
leaves, which is the resting areafor the adult mosquitos. And there's no
zero elimination with mosquitoes. But whatyou're trying to do is push that population
down. What you can get outto enjoy your yard and do the things
you want to do. Gotcha?I mean, could you imagine if there
was a zero option, it wouldbe wonderful. We tried that. We
(28:36):
just want to be straightforward with people. There's no elimination on mosquitoes, at
least not yet, that's right.Yeah, and we deal with them when
they're going to happen. But youknow, if folks, if you want
some more information again, called BillClark. They'll be able to come and
look at your property, kind ofgive you an idea. Now bart for
people to call, what's the bestnumber form to call? And then also
(28:57):
when you all do consultate things likethere is there a cost to that put
me in on that. Yeah.So the number to call us four h
nine eight nine eight three two twofour, and that will get you connected
to a real live person who willtalk to you and get things and inspection
set up. Now that inspection, that consultation is free. We just can't
(29:18):
get a job. We don't knowwhat's needed until we get out there and
look at it, and so we'dlike to see it. We'll let you
know what can be done and talkto you about the specifics of your home
with that inspection. So if youhave a question, you really there's no
obligation. No, you're not outof anything for having some someone come to
look at it and tell you whatmight need to be done. Yeah,
(29:40):
I mean, there's nothing, nothing, nothing wrong with that. Right,
you can call them up, youget them out to your property, they
take a look and they give yousome recommendations and if you want to go
with them, which I mean obviouslyyou should, but if you don't,
you know, you go on yourmerry way. So that's awesome, bart
so um as we kind of cometo a close and wrapping things up,
go ahead and give us a websiteand are y'all on Facebook social media that
(30:03):
kind of thing. Yeah, letme give you the website. It is
Bill Clark bugspurts dot com. Andagain the phone number was four h nine
eight nine eight three to two twofour. Yes, we do have some
active social media stuff if you'd liketo follow us. Another's Facebook post and
other things that were put out periodically. Okay, well good, And last
kind of a little tidbit, justcurious if there's a road or something in
(30:27):
somebody's you know, yard or whatever, and you know they don't want to
call animal control things like that,is that something that y'all are able to
come take a look at or isit mostly going to be prevent preventative stuff.
Yeah, in that situation, wemay not be able to come capture
the road and it's probably going tohave moved on before we get there,
but we can come look at thehome and try to see maybe how they
would enter, what could be donethat problem from moving from the yard to
(30:48):
inside the home. Gotcha perfect?Well, Bart, you've been outstanding a
wealth of knowledge, folks. BillClark pest Control right here on the Royal
West Show. Bart, give usthat phone number one more time so people
know goo call absolutely four O nineeight nine eight three two two four,
and we'd love to help you protectyour property and those that live there at
(31:11):
your home great and real as plugso industrial folks that may have a question,
or commercial folks, they can reachyou there too. Absolutely, we
service almost all the major industry inthe area. We can help you out
with that perfect Bart, thanks againfor being on the show. We'll have
you on again real soon, andfolks stay tuned for more on the Royal
West Radio Show. Thanks Bart,Welcome back to the Royal West Show.
(31:37):
I'm your host, Zach Styles. We've had an amazing show so far and
we're gonna keep it going with theone and only Georgia Vasilakis with the Mediterranean
Festival Chairman, and then John Rollinswith United Way. We see his face
all the time, he's everywhere. He's man about town. United Ways used
(32:00):
to such an amazing organization. Hey, folks, welcome to the show.
Georgia, how you doing today,I'm doing great? How are you?
I'm super duper John, how youdoing doing great? Glad to be here.
Good. I'm so excited about thisshow. So Georgia, let's just
dive right off into it. Talkto me about the Saint Michael's Mediterranean Festival
(32:21):
and all the amazing things that aregoing to be going on on May six.
All right, So, our SaintMichael's Mediterranean Festival is actually a spin
off of the Saint Michael's Mediterranean Dinnerthat's been offered in Southeast Texas over one
hundred years. About fifteen years ago, we decided to change it up a
bit and then bring a one day, fun family event to Southeast Texas.
(32:43):
So we do. We like toshare our heritage, we like to share
our dancing, and most importantly,we like to share our food. So
this is Saturday, May six,It's from eleven to seven, rain or
shine. Our food has been We'vestarted preparing as early as February, and
we are ready to share it withSoutheast Texas. Fantastic. I mean,
(33:06):
so I've been in the past andfolks just don't even eat breakfast that morning.
I'm telling you. I know that'snot what the workout people say.
But we're not worried about those peopleon a day like May six. We're
worried about the amazing food that you'regonna you're gonna have and it's great for
the kids. And then hey, look I gotta throw this out there,
but I mean May six, there'sa lot of stuff going on. You
(33:27):
can go vote beforehand and then youcan go just eat all the amazing food
and Mediterranean festival m Georgia. Talkto me where is it at? Okay?
And people will do they buy ticketsahead of time? They get tickets
there, just a little bit onthat, Okay. So we are located
at six ninety North fifteenth Street. We're actually in between the Wellness Center in
(33:51):
the Saint Elizabeth Parking Garage. Thereis free parking, so you can park
of right in front of the churchgrounds or you can park at uh Saint
Elizabeth Parking Garage. We do havewhat was the other question? You say,
they don't need tickets to get innow, maybe not free to get
in, so it's free admission. You don't purchase your tickets ahead of time,
(34:14):
you show up to the festival.Uh, you do. You buy
what you need for the food itemsthat you want, So we do not
do any cash exchange at the foodbooths. And um there is beer and
wine UM that will be with ourlog On Cafe, another local vendor here
in the area, so you canenjoy some Mediterranean drinks and spirits as well.
(34:37):
I love it. And it's gonnabe eleven to seven pm, so
I mean a full afternoon all theway into evening. So come for lunch,
come for dinner, come for thedrinks and the fun. There's gonna
be children's activities, books, gifts, a bizarre a Mediterranean bazaar. Talk
to me a little bit about that. So we have different items. Some
we have food items, we haveclothing items, and there's actually a religious
(35:00):
store inside of the church hall aswell. So I want to mention on
that. We have a Middle Easternplate and that's where the traditional dinner started.
So you can get cabbadrolls, youget kidby, you get some peanut
bread, and then as you're goingthrough the line, there is a traditional
pastry shop, so there are pastriesthat are made by our ladies offered inside.
(35:21):
And then the religious so we haveicons, we have other religious books
and all kinds of trinkets. Sothere is a shopping area inside and then
outside you can find really pretty plates, jewelry, all kinds of things from
the Mediterranean. Awesome. So ifyou've got a hankering for some Mediterranean weares,
make sure you get over there andcheck that out, all right.
(35:44):
So John, he's got such abeautiful, amazing, handsome face. But
I know he's on the show fora very specific reason. So John,
talk to me a little bit abouthow United Way is kind of plugged in
here with the Saint Michael's Mediterranean Festival. Yes, of course, we're so
excited to be a part of thisevent. So me and my friends go
(36:05):
every year first Saturday in May.It's already on the calendar for next year
that we just planned. You've gotyour falafels, you've got your euros,
you've got the kiddie and the grapeleaves and all these things, and they're
amazing and it's so worth it.If you have kids, you'll have an
amazing time. But Unite a Wayso grateful to be the beneficiary recipient of
(36:25):
this year's a portion of this year'sproceeds. The genesis of this kind of
happened about a year ago. Lastyear was United way seventieth anniversary year,
and I had seen through the MediterraneanFestival that they support a charity every year.
So I'd seen many of our partners, the Ark of Great Beaumont,
I think the Food Bank agyat House, the women and Children's Shelter, they
(36:50):
had all benefited before. So Ireached out to Barbara Otto, who's been
highly involved with the festival for years, and said, could unite away ever
be the beneficiary, you know, and then all of those agencies still receive
a support and especially with it beingour seventieth year, but a week prior
to me reaching out, they hadalready chosen Indian Springs as the recipient,
(37:14):
a very worthy organization, so sojust keep us in mind for next year.
And so it just came full circleand we're just so happy to be
involved this year. Awesome. Ilove it. So not only are you
going to be able as a asa as a guest to this amazing Metator
festival, You're not only going tobe able to help Saint Michael's, but
you're going to be able to literallyhelp what is it twenty plus other United
(37:38):
Way uh, you know, beneficiariesbecause they are given to so many different
nonprofits. So your your ticket, your your food, you enjoying yourself on
May six, all of a sudden, probably seven times moving forward in the
community. So folks, you gottabe there. May six, twenty twenty
three, eleven am to seven pm. It's going to be a beautiful day.
(38:01):
I already know it. John toldme that they'd called in great whether
Georgia also promised me. So I'mtelling you folks, you gotta get there.
So Georgia. If people want tolearn a little bit more about what's
gonna be going on on this specialday, where would they go to learn
more? I highly recommend everyone goto our Facebook page. It's Saint Michael
Medfest. You'll see the same littledancer icon, you'll see our flyer.
(38:24):
And then as we finalize our entertainmentschedule, keep in mind we will have
a bird show for the children,so it's a live bird show at one
and three pm, and then wehave some dancers that come in from Houston
that do some ethnic dancing and thenlive music throughout the day. One more
thing, we have a cruise.Well it's a five thousand dollar cruise Vulture.
(38:49):
We're selling one hundred tickets at onehundred dollars. So that is another
opportunity for you to win and thentake the Mediterranean and extend your vacation.
Love it. Look at that,So a chance to win a cruise in
the Mediterranean. I mean, itdoesn't get much better than that, folks.
So go to their Facebook. LiterallyFacebook, you just search Mediterranean Festival.
(39:09):
That's how I found it. You'regonna find it immediately. If you
have any questions, If they havequestions, Georgia, who would they call
together? You can reach out.You can reach out to the you can
send a message to us directly onthe Facebook page. We're very responsive.
We'll try to get back. Ican't always guarantee the phone, but Facebook
is the best way to reach us. Perfect, John, Georgia, thank
