Speaker 1 (00:16):
Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello, what up? What up? Good morning,
good evening, wherever you are in the world. Forty something
Gamers podcast myself and Sharon co host. We've been best
friends since back in the day. We like to talk
about you know, gen X, pop culture, and then you know,
just being forty something gamers. Searon, how you doing, man?
How's everything going?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
What's going on? My dude, everything is doing good. How
about you?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
I'm doing pretty good, man, Just these allergies of kicking
my butt right now. But ladies and gentlemen, we have
a very special topic we're going to talk about today.
Something my boy Charon is very heavily into. He is
a I mean he Disney everything, man. So we're just
gonna talk about the Disney franchise, as you know, our experiences,
(01:01):
you know, theme parks, video games, and just Disney in general.
So Searon, I'll let you go ahead and kick it off, man.
So let's talk about your Disney experiences, man.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
My Disney experience.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
You know, my first I mean, as much as I
meant to, my very first experience was back in twenty eleven. Okay,
my first time ever going to Disney World was back
in twenty eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Me and my son.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
It was about the second grade, and we drove down
to Florida.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
And we were going, yeah it was wild. Man.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
We I drove up and it was like, man, Disney
is huge.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah. So you got yeah, all right, I'll go ahead
to kick it off there. So brought up a military brat,
spent time in San Diego. So I actually went to
elementary school. Shout out to Will and your elementary school
(02:08):
in San Diego. So as a kid, we went to
Disneyland quite a few times. Later on, later on in life,
I actually was stationed in San Diego. Shout out to
the USS bonharm Shard and Naval Station San Diego. So
I got to live in San Diego actually twice. My
first experience with Disney was, let's say, so we moved
(02:32):
from Guam to San Diego. So second and third grade,
one of the actually I'm I'm ana share this, manna
be a little petty sober? Whats up? So? San Diego
is about an hour away from Anaheim, California. So I
remember we drove all the way to San Diego, from
San Diego to Anaheim and it was actually raining. So
(02:56):
I was like, dang, you know what I'm saying, like
it's raining in the back of my mind. The younger
me was like, you know what, Disney might not be open,
but I'm hopeful that it will be open. And unfortunately
it wasn't open. So we went out there and we
drove all the way. We had to drive all the
(03:18):
way back to San Diego, and I remember crying like
I was very upset. But you know another memorable moment
I want to say in Sharon correct me if I'm wrong.
Nineteen eighty six, two great sci fi rides debuted, so
(03:40):
I got to go there to experience Captain Ego shortly
after it debuted, and then also Star Tours, and I
will tell you that it was epic. Then fast forward
to twenty I want to say twenty four or a
(04:00):
shout out to my friend Chelsea Harlow. We actually went
out to Californiayear's California Adventure, and the memory moment there
is was the Tower of Terror. We did the Tower
of Terror twice, and I thought the California Adventure was
pretty cool. But I've never I've never done the Epcot
Center experience, so that has been my experience with Disney.
(04:22):
So I'm gonna ask you what are your favorite rides
when you go to Disney.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
You know, the funny thing about Disney is, like my
son was, he was small back then, so believe it
or not, we didn't do a lot of rides. I
don't know, been to Disney work one time, and that
was in twenty eleven, so I went a lot later
in life than you did. I do remember I did
get I got to see kappaanilloh, you know, and Epcott. Oh,
(04:53):
and I did ride inside the dome Epcot Dome.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
I thought that was really cool. Yeah, you know, and
it's like it's like you kind of it's like a time.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Traveling experience, like they take you all way back to
dauring the time and like it takes you like you know,
I remember like going backward and like you can see
the earth and all the stars and everything. And I
thought that that was like really cool. Oh you know,
I remember walking through the what's the one in the
Animal Kingdom? You know, we we got the the big
(05:25):
there's like a giant tree it's in there. It's like
it's really cool. It's called like a Tree of Life.
It's not a real tree, you know, that's actually an
attraction in there, you know, with a Bugs Life and
oh I he hears a story.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
We actually went to that attraction, A Bug's Life.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
And the seats are like wooden, so you know, the
whole thing is street eat out and everything, and that
this site is just totally decked out and you get
to watch like the Bugs Life show and Yo, at
the end of that show, they tell you the.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Police remain seated, so all the bugs and egs of the.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Building, and I swear you felt like bugs were crawling
up your back, under your feet. You know, people were jumping, screaming,
and you know that that was that was one of
the craziest experiences that I remember up in there.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yeah, But we didn't do a lot of rides because
another instance was they had the on Tomorrowland. I wanted
to ride it, and you know, Kobe didn't want to,
which is the son. So there was this other family
that was there and it was like, hey, if you want,
he can, we can, we can watch your son for you.
(06:32):
You can go back, you can go on a ride
with like my husband and sons about to go on
it again. And I was like, yeah, Na, that's not
gonna happen. You know, because Grants like one of the
happiest places on Mary.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
I'm sure. I'm sure people can disappear that easily.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, but I mean but other than that, you know,
we did like Carousel Progress, which I thought was really cool,
and you know, it was a lot of cool.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
We did a lot of walking. It was it was
really cool. You know.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
I really enjoyed that time that although there was a
place called Disney Quest that was like it was like
a giant, five story ArKade that I wanted to go in,
but we didn't. You know, I don't think they're just
there anymore. But there, you know, I'm actually I want
to go back. Yeah, but right now everything is just
that it's so expensive, you know, paying for a house.
(07:21):
And I'll get back out there, but how about you.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yeah, So I'm gonna say as a kid going to Disney,
I liked I liked this a Small World that was
pretty cool. I liked the Peter Pan ride. But I've
been fascinated with flight since I was a kid, so
I liked that one. I remember. So they would have
like a parade it was like on Main Street, like
(07:47):
electric parade with lights and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Star Tours was very cool. And then like like you,
I haven't been. I haven't been to Disney in a while.
Like I said, two thousand, two thousand and two thousand
and four or probably been two thousand and three was
when I went to California Adventure. I thought was cool,
and I've always there's one this's the nerd in me
right here. I always wanted to go to the one
(08:13):
thing where they had like the Presidents. I think it's
like the President Hall or something like that. Yeah, with animatronics.
I would love to see that if I ever went.
And then I definitely want to see the Epcot going
to the Epcot Ball or Epcot Center. Then also I
would love to see the new Star Wars attraction. I
(08:35):
think that would be cool. But as a kid, I
always because I was in the robots and stuff like that,
always really liked Tomorrowland, and yeah, I think it was
Space Mountain was pretty cool. So yeah, maybe one day
I'll go back. I just you know, I haven't really
got besides seeing the Star Wars situation. Just yeah, like
(08:58):
the older me, I'm not a fan of like long lines,
and I think right when we had like an express
past or there was some method of the madness to it.
And then also, man, I'm not a fan of like humidity,
so Orlando, Orlando, that would have to be a situation,
like it would have to be a winter situation. I
wouldn't go out there spend all that money in the
(09:19):
summertime sweating and stuff like that. So that's just me
being forty seven, forty seven year old Marquises, you know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Yeah, when I went out there were it was like
late winter, early spring. It was in fact, it was
late winter, and so it was still pretty cool. And oh,
here's a fun fact. Back in eighty five, we were
talking about Cappanillo.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Believe it or not.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
You have a cousin who was who went to disney
World at that same timeframe, and Michael Jackson was filming
that movie. And you know, she told me, she told
me she saw him. Oh really, yeah, she told me
she saw him. I was like, you didn't run up
to him? She was like nah, I was like, are
you serious? It was Michael Jackson in the nineteen eighties
is like the biggest thing.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
On hers Yeah. Yeah, yeah, And I mean nothing even now, man,
this I mean, this is yeah my gen x opinion. Man,
Michael will always be the King of pop. And speaking
of which, man, I remember we had the Disney Channel
and there was like, so let's talk about I mean,
you're talking about the Disney the new Mickey Mouse Club
(10:25):
that had justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and all that. And
then one of the specials that they did have was
the making of Captain Neo, which was hosted by over Yeah,
and it was like our special kind of like the
making of a thriller. So one thing that was Mike
and like I remember that. I mean, if she got
(10:48):
to see him, because I know it was like kind
of he did it. He was on uh he was
working on Bad and this was like months before Bad
came out. But nah, that's cool, man, And I'm glad
that after his past and they brought it back because
it was kind of like four D. I mean, they
had smoke, they had lasers, and it was it was
it was real cool. It was a real cool experience.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
It was when I went, it was a little bit
more toned down, and they did mention that, but it
didn't have like all the smoke and uh, it didn't
have like old laser lights. However, the theater that you were,
and it did move around like a spaceship slightly. But yeah,
so they had the they couldn't toll. They didn't totally
rebuild like the way it originally was, but they had
(11:30):
gotten they had gotten a pretty close second. But yet,
you know you're talking about like the Disney Channel back
in the eighties. Man, that was like, oh, rage. I
remember we didn't actually have the Disney Channel, but some
people may remember this. Oh sometimes you have like a
Disney Channel week Disney Channel weekend, and all of a
sudden you come home and uh, that channel will be
(11:51):
de scrambled. And man, we watched we would watch ship
out of that, the downd Duck Present. Excuse my French,
but we watched like the Downald Duck Present. That was
the first time I saw the original parent trap. Oh
but I always loved Mickey Mouse, you know. I remember
used to like when I was the second grade, I
used to get these books They're called hot Dog.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yeah, yeah, do you did you ever know about those?
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Nah? So I'm gonna say that. Also, the one cool
thing that they had at California Disney Adventure was they
had a movie theater and they had a face on
on the movie theater in the movie theater above the
screen or whatever, and to me, I was like, man,
(12:36):
the face looks like Whoopy Goldberg. Yeah, so then the
film is talking about the history of California, so the
face that looks like Woopy Goldberg ends up being whoop Be.
When the film comes on, is wood Be actually talking
about California and she's breaking down the history of California.
(12:59):
And then the crazy thing about it was that Whoopi
Goldberg is playing Khalifia. Khalifia is the Queen of California,
so there's a as history tells it, California was named
after a black goddess, so she's playing Khalifia, so it's
a fictational queen of the island of California. So yeah,
(13:24):
I thought that was pretty cool that they, you know,
pay homage to Queen Khalifia and she's talking about the
history of California. So that was a standout moment for
me at California Disney Adventure because I've never I never
knew that. And then like you said, too, man, the
Disney channel was definitely. Yeah. Back in the day, it
was like a cable channel that you literally had to buy,
(13:45):
and they had like so many like Dumbos Adventure Circus
I remember as a kid, and just like all the
classic Disney cartoons. So, Charon, man, you got a whole
bunch of Disney stuff in your collection. Man, So how
do you want to I eventually want to talk about
the video games, man, But like, what do you have from?
Because I know you got all the movies and I mean,
(14:08):
I think, yeah, son, what are you gonna talk about
that Disney collection?
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Man? Look? I have all the Oh what do I
what do I start with that collection?
Speaker 3 (14:18):
You know, believe it or not. The first Disney tape
and I lost to the Hurricanetrinum, so I don't have
these anymore. I've transferred them to DVD. But the first
tape that I ever bought that was Disney was I
Want to See a Latin And that was back in
about ninety three, ninety four. I started working and I
(14:38):
was like, hey, it's like I bought that movie, and
I decided I wanted to just go ahead and start collecting,
you know, and I wound up with a Latin and
Beauty and Beast and Oliver run Company, Little Mermaid Mulan
towards it as they would come out and I was
watching them in a theater.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Then I were going out by them, and as they would.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
Released one, it seemed like they were like releasing a
movie every year, and I would just grab it up.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
And then all of a sudden, you know, with the.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
With the DVD technology, I started to switch over to
that in Blu Ray.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
And I still collect them as they come out.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
You know, they've kind of slowed a little bit on
doing that, but I mean, I mean I have like
returned to os.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
I know that's probably one that a lot of people
may or may not know about. Actually I have two
of those.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
But yeah, I said, the Lion King, Atlantis, the Emperor's
New Groove, Oh yeah, the Fox and the Hound, snow White, Pinocchio,
one of my favorites.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Peter Pan He said, you like flight.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Yeah, Oh, I got a funny story, man. I just
thought about it. Bro So, me and Sharon used to
work at uh we used to work at Berry King together,
and I remember when them Disney movies come out. Man,
do you remember when Ocahonas came out and Berry King
they played the hell out of that soundtrack.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
I was, you know, it's so funny that you mentioned
that I was talking my dad worked today, and I
was telling them if they played that so much that
the whole the entire staff knew.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
All the songs. And I know sometimes we break out
into a sing along.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Yeah the color.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Yeah, look said, I actually had that soundtrack. That's another
thing that I do also is not only do I
collect the movies, but I collect soundtracks as well.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
And then I just remember, like they used to have
the Disney cups and you know, I have.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Them, still have them. I think I'm missing too.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
But yeah, yeah, and then I just remember, man, I'm
trying to think, was that Goofy movie? Did that come
out when we was in high school?
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Yes, nineteen ninety five.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Yeah, Oh that was another That was another cool thing,
a Goofy movie, because remember we had goof too, and
Max was relatively young, and then all of a sudden,
a Goofy movie came out.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
And he was like much older.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Yeah, and I mean I thought that that was like
I thought it was really that they did that. And
they also had like you know, Timmy Campbell who you know,
did a lot of soundtrack, well not a lot, but
like two or three songs on it.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Yeah, and like memorable movies of our era. Remember the
Lion King? Speaking of which, man, have you seen the
new the move Foster?
Speaker 2 (17:25):
No, not yet, I'm not yet.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Oh I'm waiting on to drop on Disney Plus and
I'm gonna give it a watch. Yeah, but I remember
the first one. I remember when it came out yep,
and it looks like it looks like they it looked.
I mean, it looks like they just made the movie yesterday.
That's how good the technology is in it, because you
know they made all that using the computer.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
So yeah, visual animation.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
So then I wanted to transition this to Disney. One
thing that I will applaud about Disney is, uh, they've
always made for the most part, they've always made quality
video games. I remember Nintendo was that Mickey's Mouska Paid.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Yeah, that was one of the first. That was the
first Disney game I ever played, now as you mentioned.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
It, Yeah, yeah. And then transition to my favorite, I
think our favorite sixteen bit area era when Genesis came out.
Castle of Illusion was very man that was the joint
and then also a quack Shot.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Quackshot was my jam. I could still play that game.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Yeah, And I want to say I think I may
have played on the Nintendo Chippindale Rescue Rangers, but I
will say, oh, go ahead.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
I played that one. I also played The Little Mermaid.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
I don't know if I played duck Tails, but I
will say, Man, Nintendo, the Disney franchise, I will say,
for the most part, they do like outstanding video games. MANO,
have you played the World of Illusion?
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (19:11):
I think it's World Yeah, yeah, Mickey Mouse Man and
the Guy narrates and then uh yeah, and then I
think this game may had got low ratings. I'm pretty
sure you played it. Fantasia. Did they make a Fantasia?
Speaker 2 (19:27):
I think I played. I played it once. Yeah, I
played it once, like a long time ago. Okay, but yeah,
I remember I remember Quackshot being faster.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Yeah yeah, but I played Which one was?
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Where? Where was Mickey and Donald dug playing at the
same time?
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Oh yeah, I had that one for the Saga Genesis.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Was that the World of Illusion? Or was that?
Speaker 1 (19:55):
You know what? Man? That might be the World of Illusion?
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Man Castle, Illusion is gonna make it was myself because
they remade it for they made it for the Xbox,
remade it for the Xbox three, sixty and I want
to say current gen systems.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yeah, yeah, and then they had Mickey Mania. I thought
that was pretty dope.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
They had that for yes, yeah, I had I had
that on The Superintendent and I also have it on
the Sega Genesis.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
I'm sorry, sad.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
Yeah, yeah, which was a pretty cool game.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
So have you played, uh, because I know, for Aladdin
for Sega Genesis and also there were two different games, man, yes,
have you got to play both of them? In my mind,
I think the Sega Genesis one was a lot better.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
But so let's see, the Sega Genesis was more. I
don't know, because I played the.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Super Nintendo more.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
I did play the Sega Genesis, but I think I
enjoyed the Super Nintendo version of more. I know, the
SACA he had a sword and he control of apples,
and on the Super Nintendo he throws apples and kind
of bounces on the head like Mario.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
But I think the Super Nintendo version looked a bit
more colorful to me.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
And at the time I played it, I didn't have
a Saga Genesis, so you know, I'm I'm about biased
to it. But I did play it a little bit,
and the Saga gen version to me was was way harder.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
It's more difficult.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
I think it was like more true to the cartoon.
And then we have Epic Mickey Now I think like
that epic to me, out of all the Mickey Mouse
video games, I'll say the reboot of Castle of Illusion
and Epic Mickey Wanted two are the ones the best
ones that I like. As far as Disney games, I
(21:49):
will say, though, I like Epic Mickey on the Xbox
more than the we because the Wei you got to
use it, like I said, the nunchuck and do all man,
come on, man, I just want to won't play it
the controller man?
Speaker 3 (22:01):
But that but that that was the point of it,
you know, it was It was really designed for the week.
That's why the first version of it only came out
on the week, whereas the second version came out on
both because the first one you had to you had
to aim and you had to use the paint in
the finner, you know. So that's why I was a
design like that on the week. And you know, of
course she controlled Mickey Mouse with the nunchuck. But however,
(22:25):
like I don't know, follow the like the listeners out there,
they sense re released it on a Nintendo Switch and
also currenting systems, and you don't have to point at
the screen anymore that you want to, you know, use
that gyroscoop.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
I think it does that. I just like, I don't.
I don't point in the screen anymore. I just like
use the control and just like Control Mickey.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
But Epic Mickey is like a really cool game, and
I did finish it years ago. In fact, that was
that was actually one of the games that I was
playing right around the time I went to went to
Disney World, you know, because I bought the Strategy Guide
and I bought the collectors that I bought the Collector's
(23:03):
edition of it, and it came like with a little
Mickey Mouse figurine and also came with a skin for
my control and the side of my Nintendo's we and
it's really nice box and it came with a DVD
also talked about the game, and I mean I still
have all that stuff.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Yeah, so it was World of Illusion with Donald Duck
and Mickey Mouse. And actually I didn't realize this. It's
also on the Sega Genesis Mini. Okay, yeah, so what's
on there as well?
Speaker 3 (23:36):
So cool it is, It's sure I remember now because
I have I have a Sega manning and I know
I've seen that.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Up there, So we'll talk about like other So they have,
of course, we said Aladdin. We also said, then they
have the Jungle Book, then they have the Lion King.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
Miaking was extremely difficult anybody to finish.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
I've never played it, man, but it looks pretty because
I know you you gotta like I remember vividly in
my mind that there is a scene where like the
the animals are running towards you, right, like a stampede
or something, and you gotta dodge.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Yeah, okay, yeah that was like there was a level
like that that was also a Mickey Mania where you
had to run from a moose and you were running
water screen. Yeah, yeah, Mickey Manie was was extremely cool.
In fact, one day I'll maybe hook up my Saga
CD and give it another run. But hopefully if Disney
(24:32):
is listening, maybe they'll take that game as well as
well as the rest of their games and bring them out,
you know, for like the Dower generation, because those were
some cool games back then.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Yeah, they should do like a you know best U
you know, like the guy yeah got the teenage muting
Turtles collection. They should have like a Disney thing. So
I actually I actually played Mickey Mania for the Sega
CD and then I also played it for the Sega Genesis,
I think, also from the Nintendo and I think out
(25:03):
of all of those, Segacy is the best version.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Oh yeah, yeah, Segacy the hands down. Yeah, it's best soundtrack,
best scrolling. Oh it was like the game could be
a bit janky, a little bit, you know sometimes like
the response was a little weird. But you know, this
is one of those things you just kind of got
used to, I know, sometimes like with that particular with
(25:28):
those ghosts that the lonesome man of the Haunted Mansion
stage whatever it was called, and you have like the
you have like the little spooky ghost of trying to
catch you in the house.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
And I would bump into them a lot accidentally.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
And sometimes you have to wait on the water to
rise or something like that and you have to jump
on the boat and they were all like, you know,
they were just a getch you.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
And I almost beat that game.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
I was, I was at the very end and I
made a super move and I lost and I never
played it again.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Man, you just made me think of something that we
didn't talk about. And unfortunately when we when we talk
about so many things, man, time we got four minutes left,
but I forgot to talk about Disney movies that were
actually ride you know, you got the Hunted Mansion.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
So my quick question, which movie do you think translated
well from a ride or you know, Betty, what is
your overall overall best Disney movie? What is your favorite
Disney movie?
Speaker 2 (26:31):
Man, my favorite Disney movie. That's difficult. You know what
I thought.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
That I used to think about one of my favorite
Disney movies actually, and I know my guy was a
Little Mermaid, but I think that's what really kind of
reeled me in. But it's somewhere between the Little Mermaid
and Beauty and Beasts animated wise, but what I think
one of my favorite movies is actually tomorrow A.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
Oh yeah, Tomorrowland. I just recently saw that.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Okay, Yeah, It's just it's just something it's something about
that that just that really that really gets my attention.
You know, It's like Tomorrowland.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
It kind of takes me back to that period of
about nineteen ninety one when I so often think about
the future and what it would what it would be like,
and that movie kind of strikes that nostalgia, and I
think that's why I like it so much. Yeah, particularly
when she goes to that retro store and she's trying
to find out about that pen and they have all
(27:29):
the retro stuff in there. And then also you know
when she touches the pin and she sees the future. Yeah,
and well she thinks she sees the future, but you know,
it's really just like a I don't want to say,
like an Austin reality, but it's like a gateway to
another reality.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
Yeah, I think of re Mindsman, I'm gonna take it
back the Sword and the Stone with Mr.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
Yeah, that was. That was a good one, man. And
then now, man, it's like so many, so much the
Disney movies. Man, that yeah, just so many Disney movies.
And then I'm interested to see Actually one of my
colleagues actually saw Mufassa and he said it was pretty good.
Because I was trying to think man Rest in Peace
(28:14):
to James L. Jones, So I asked him, I'm like, hey,
is his voice used? And he's like yeah, because I
don't I don't necessarily remember if the movie came before
or after this passing, but he said that James L.
James L. Joined Jones voice is in the in the movie.
And then my my question is, like did they did that?
(28:35):
You know how they do like they bring people back
and they use their voice or they'll use you know,
AI or anything like that.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
So well, you know, they probably have so many outtakes
from you know what, like things that he's made the past,
you know, with the original Lion King to you know,
they re released The Lion King a few years ago.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
It's no telling.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
In fact, I haven't even really watched that, but you know,
shout out also not to change the subject, but you know,
we had posted dragons Layer. We talked about dragons Layer
and dragons Layer too on space As a few weeks back.
And the artists that actually worked on those games used
to work for Disney in the seventies. His name was
(29:19):
Don Bluth, and he I know, he worked on the
Fox and Hound. He may have worked maybe on The
Sword and the Stone too. He might have been in
that era. I'm not quite sure. But yeah, I just
wanted to bring that up. And you're lucky because I
never got to go to California Adventure. I always wanted
to go there.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
It was it was cool.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Man.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
I don't know if it's still.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
This there.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Okay, googleize it, man, but.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Yeah, no, it's still that. It's not going anywhere cool.
