Speaker 1 (00:00):
Clydelee Dennis. Here and today in our seven Good Minutes
Extra segment, we're exploring this beautiful truth. The first thought
of your morning is the first brushstroke on the canvas
of your day. This quote captures something profound about the
creative power we hold in those initial moments of consciousness.
Just as an artist's first brushstroke sets the tone and

(00:20):
direction for an entire painting, your first thought establishes the
energy and trajectory for everything that follows. Think about how
a painter approaches a blank canvas. They don't just randomly
splash paint and hope for the best. They consider what
they want to create. They choose their colors intentionally, and
they make that first mark with purpose. Your morning consciousness

(00:42):
is your blank canvas, and your first thought is that
crucial opening brushstroke. When you wake up thinking about problems,
you're essentially starting your painting with dark, heavy colors. When
you wake up with gratitude or possibility, you're beginning with light,
vibrant hues. The entire composition and flows from that initial choice.

(01:02):
What's beautiful about this metaphor is that it reminds us
we are artists of our own experience. We're not passive
recipients of whatever thoughts happen to drift through our minds.
We're active creators who can choose how to begin painting
each new day. This doesn't mean every day will be
a masterpiece. Even great artists have days when their work
doesn't turn out as planned, but they still approach each

(01:24):
canvas with intention, and they understand that how they begin
influences everything that follows. Here's a question for reflection. If
your morning thoughts were brushstrokes on a canvas, what kind
of painting would you be creating? Are you starting with
colors that reflect the life you want to live? And
here's your affirmation. I am the artist of my daily experience,

(01:47):
and I choose to begin each morning with thoughts that
create beauty, possibility, and growth. Remember, you hold the brush,
you choose the colors, and every morning you get a
fresh canvas to work with. Make that first brushstroke count
until next time. I'm Clyde Lee Dennis and this has
been seven good minutes extra
