Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction, unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's turn it into a tool. This is arrow unplugged.
Ernie is a Blue Crown conyer. For over thirty years,
he's overlooked his forest right here in South Charlotte, North Carolina.
Every day, Ernie sits in his very beautiful home, overlooking

(00:20):
the trees, the nearby lake, and every bit of the wildlife.
Strolling through such an amazing piece of land. Ernie and
I share the same vision. It's this forest. We both
look into the trees and study the earth below. There's
something very spiritual here. The lyrics to Ernie's Forest, we
both receive an amazing amount of energy. I put all

(00:40):
of that trust and all my skills into what that
student is teaching me. Ernie. Remember these aren't my words.
These are the lyrics from Ernie's Forest, Chapter number four
hundred three, December seventeenth, twenty twenty three. They call it
a nor'easter weather system, a huge wind and water maker
that starts in the rolling hills of the South and

(01:01):
pushes its strength all the way up into New York
and beyond. The trees in my forest have no leaves
to protect their limbs. The usually slow paced stream is
over the top, full and moving like more of a
mountain river, very little light beneath the huge gray cloud.
The trees almost look sad. I feel sad. The deer

(01:22):
and the other animals are nowhere to be seen. How
to use what feels like dread and doubt and turn
it into a positive while the answer is step forward
with a productive mind, get your mind on success, get
your season of living in the past completely off your path.
Be grateful of the rainstorms because as of late, every

(01:42):
shape a climate can bring changes things. All living things
need water to feed their roots. It's time to start
celebrating what nature is trying to share. Water, energy, food,
not just for the human being, but for all living things.
How many times in your day do you put your

(02:04):
mood in a place that is uncomfortable because it's not
going your way. You don't have that big ball of sunshine,
You're not getting to play the games that you want
to do. You didn't get to take this vacation, you
had to take that one instead. We let these little
things get in the way of being positive, and sometimes
we like to fake up our positive I call it
the candy coded plastic bathroom mere smile. Getting into that

(02:26):
moment has to be a shift in your heart. I
know we all can't have perfectly happy days every single day,
but we can work on having this much more happiness
when everything does feel like dread and doubt. Winning is
a choice. You can choose to lose all you want,
But we have more fun when we're winning, right, But

(02:47):
it's a choice. You make, that choice to show up
and win your game. I'm Eryl. These are not my words.
These are the lyrics from Ernie's Forest

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
