Speaker 1 (00:00):
Creativity is an addiction, unplugged because we will always say
yes to creativity, totally uncut because we all make mistakes.
So let's just turn it into a tool. This is
Arrow unplugged. I'm always asking questions, and the reason why
is because the fund begins when you start researching for
answers such as what's better wearing glasses or contact lenses? Plus?

(00:24):
Why are bowling alleys so expensive to buy? My name
is Arrow. I'm a daily writer, a silent wolf. I
stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen, study,
then activate. I call it the daily Mess, a chronological
walk through an everyday world. Yep, it's my morning pages.
As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people
tend to throw things to the side because we think

(00:46):
we're gonna deal with it later. When a subject arrives
inside of me, I know it is time to dig in.
It's still keeping that daily journal, but by doing the research,
the picture becomes clearer. This is the daily Mess. What's
better wearing a pair of contacts or glasses? Wow? Research

(01:06):
shows there's no single better option between glasses or contact lenses.
The best choice depends on the individual. Digging a little
bit deeper. Glasses do offer eye protection, are easier to use,
and can be more affordable. But let's flip things around
and focus on contact lenses. Doctors say they provide a
natural field of vision, they're more comfortable with sports and

(01:28):
other activities, and number one, they do not fog up.
Wearing glasses do mess around with your peripheral vision, mainly
because you physically have to turn your entire head to
gain access to a clearer picture. Contact lenses have negatives
as well a higher risk of getting an infection. The
maintenance is time consuming, can lead to discomfort and irritation,

(01:50):
especially during the months of spring when there is so
much fallen in the air. Ultimately, the choice is up
to you. It's all based on your lifestyle, budget, eye health,
and personal preference. Hey, coming up next, Why are bowling
alleys so expensive to buy? Hey? Thanks for coming back
to the daily mess. Why are bowling alleys so darn

(02:14):
expensive to purchase? I grew up in a bowling alley,
but until recently, I've not seen so many up for sale,
and at prices that are amazingly high. The reason why
is due to the maintenance needs for equipment operating expenses,
staff salaries, and the cost of providing amenities. If you
were to build a bowling alley, the build today would

(02:35):
run you two to six million dollars construction costs and
the space required to build a facility. We're talking eighty
thousand dollars per lane. The game has changed since my
day at Sunset Bowl and Billing's Montana. It's not about
league bowling anymore. It's turned into a disco, blinking light moment. Plus,
bowling food is unbelievably incredible. It is a total experience.

(02:59):
Well that kind of stuff, it costs money. Other high
cost to consumers include the oil on the alley. You
can't let those babies dry up. The scoring systems are computers,
Ugh enough said, computers like to break down a lot.
It's money, money, money, no wonder. I use my Metaverse
VR goggles. My bowling inside those goggles is free. I

(03:23):
marrow and that's the daily mess.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
