Speaker 1 (00:00):
So you've been there yet Arrow dot net, Arroe dot net.
There are so many podcasts to choose from, seventeen total,
all with different subjects, all with different ideas. It's time
to grow forward. Put your voice and your ears out
there are dot net Erocollins podcasting My little man Ernie.

(00:23):
He's a Blue Crown conyer. For over thirty two years,
he and I have overlooked this forest right here in
South Charlotte, North Carolina. Ernie and I sit right here
in this beautiful window, overlooking the trees, the nearby lake,
and every bit of the wildlife strolling peacefully on the
land below. Ernie and I share the same visions this forest.

(00:44):
We both look into the trees and study the earth below.
I mean, there's something very spiritual going on here. The
lyrics to Ernie's Forest. We both receive an amazing amount
of energy. I put all of my trust and skills
as a student into what he's willing to sh share
with me. These aren't my words, these are the lyrics
from Ernie's Forest, chapter number four hundred twenty four. April

(01:08):
twenty third, twenty twenty four, we were in Chesters State Park,
walking through Mother Nature's multi attitudes and altitudes, being at
lake water level, then high above, looking down from giant
doses of sunshine to hidden away gullies, dampened enough to
feed the lime green moss and the mushrooms growing nearby.

(01:30):
This early in spring means fewer insects, less of a
pesky headache waiting to sting us and leave us itching.
We've been to this collection of trees several times since
twenty eleven. No motorized boats gives this giant lake a
personality of its own. There's no war against gasoline and
engine oil, which might explain the extremely tall cattails lighting

(01:54):
the shoreline, dancing with the wind while listening to the
woodpeckers tapping away at the thickness of the pines and
the elm. I've always heard rumors of there being amazing
lily pads somewhere on the lake, but I can't seem
to figure out which cove they're actually hiding in. And
if I were to find those lilies, would my passion

(02:14):
for mystery conclude. It's almost better that I don't see
the lily pads to allow the imagination to keep seeking.
We do this in our everyday life. We imagine something
because we've heard of something, we've read of something, we've
seen different documentaries either on YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, and even

(02:35):
on TikTok. We know that something exists, but physically and
personally we have not seen it yet. Such as these
lily pads right here on Chester Lake at Chester State Park.
Do they really exist? Now some people have told me, well,
you've got to come at the end of April going
into May. That's when they come in. I've been here,

(02:56):
I've not seen them. So therefore, after all of these years,
because we first started going here in twenty eleven, it's
twenty twenty five now, so fourteen years have gone by,
and I've yet to see the loch Ness Monster, basically
of this particular lake in South Carolina. The mystery continues
to grow, and so many times we have that instinct

(03:19):
about us. For instance, I'll give you a good example
Casey Caasem from American Top forty. Absolutely one of the
greatest inspirations and influences in my life, the mystery of radio.
I didn't know what he looked like, and then I
finally saw him on The Hardy Boys, and you know what,
I lost interest because I now knew what he looked like.

(03:41):
I saw him. There he is, and for some reason,
my imagination said, well, I guess the mystery is over now.
I thought it was insane when I went through that,
And then I was introduced to the group kiss all
of that paint on their faces. You should have seen
my bedroom as a child, Kiss posters every upset my
father like you would not believe. And then they took

(04:05):
the paint off. I got to meet them without the paint.
I had absolutely no emotional connection because that teenage boy
in Billings, Montana that laid on that bed staring at
those posters trying to figure out, what do you look like?
Are you carrying the secret of the lily pads on

(04:28):
Chester Lake at Chester State Park? And the answer was, well,
here we are. We're unmasked. And it changed me. Now
did I like it? When they got back together with
Ace as well as Peter and they put the makeup on,
wasn't the same and it never will be. But we
all go through this. Are you more charged up by
the mystery of not seeing things? Or do you really

(04:50):
have to have proof that things exist? It's almost like God,
the universe, Jehovah, whatever you want to call the the
creator that put all of this together. Are you more empowered,
influenced giving as well as forgiving, filled with compassion not

(05:10):
ever seen this thing? Called God, the Great Creator Jehovah.
Because the moment that you do, will it change your
inner vision, your inner eye. These are not my words,
These are the lyrics from Ernie's Forest,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
