Speaker 1 (00:00):
I've always believed in one mantra, share your story or
someone will write it for you. And as we continue
to grow inside this podcast world, there's a lot of
stories we haven't dug into yet. Arro dot net, A
R R O E dot Net. Thank you so much
for supporting the vision as well as the path.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Hey, good morning, Rob.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
We need to talk here in Carolina. I'm in Carolina.
You do local, man, I'll tell you what you're doing
local music. And I have been waiting and I've been
telling people at Harris Teeter all week? Are you doing
that Harris Teeter tour at all? Since they feature live
music now in all of their stores.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
No, no, I haven't. I actually haven't heard about that.
But uh yeah, that sounds like a cool, cool deal.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Yeah, because dude, you don't miss a stage. If someone
says I'm throwing a party, it seems like you're showing up, Rob.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah, man, I'm all over the place for sure. Wow.
So nically on the road now, headed towards Moresville for
Veterans Day events.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Are Yeah, ral Race City, USA.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
That's right, that's right.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Where are you going to be at in Morrisville.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
We'll be at Liberty Park right there in the heart
of Morrisville. They're having a big Veterans there event and
building homes for heroes.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
You totally understand that that the music and the people
that come from this state. There is something in our
soil and I have never figured out what it is.
But if you look at the history of those who
have come from the Carolinas, dude, and you're now part
of it.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Rob, Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's pretty wild. Man. I love
I mean, you think of the Randy Travis, the the
Charlie Daniels, the just awesome, awesome, awesome voices, and I'm
just grateful, man, just grateful to represent this beautiful and man.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
So if you thought about what the sign is going
to look like just outside of Maxton that says home
of Rob Cole.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah, that's true. That's true. You got the big image
of Randy Travis in this home time, that would be
That would be pretty cool, honestly. I mean, right there
in the heart of Pembroke is where I really represent.
But yeah, man, that would be super cool. Mom My
mom actually has a day named after her in Pembroke,
So I'm hoping to follow those same footsteps. Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Oh my god, performing one hundred shows a year, because
because I know that stage, how do you mentally and
physically get prepared for the next night's performance knowing that
your body hurts like hell?
Speaker 2 (02:33):
It's not as totally with th honest. I mean I
have I have some some nights where my voice is
just like not there, but man, it's it's you know.
I I love what I do. I'm grateful for every
opportunity I get. I try to give everything I got
each show. But there also comes with wisdom with that,
you know, knowing if I've got four in a row
(02:54):
or anything like that. You know, I try to try
to pace myself as best I can. I said, I
love what I do, and I can get into it
really quickly and overdo it, but I try to pace
myself as much as I can. I'm just grateful again
for just every open door that's given to me. And
you know, it was a time a couple of years
ago I had to say yes to every single open
(03:15):
door just to try to provide. But now I'm in
a place where I can sit back and kind of
pick and choose, and that's a good feeling to have,
you know. I want to play everywhere, but I can't
do that, but grateful for the ones that I do
get it.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
So, if you're going to play the House of Blues
down there in Myrtle Beach, have you done anything up
here at Kyote Jows?
Speaker 2 (03:34):
I haven't. I haven't. I need to get that way,
please please. Yeah. I play most of my most of
my shoes down in North Myrtle Beach. That's kind of
the music scene I've been a part of now for
going on three years or so, and so I've built
a great, great following down there. But my goal for
going into next year is to definitely expand, especially after
(03:56):
this whole opportunity with the boys kind of opening up
a lot of ors for me, and that's my hopes
is to expand that that that audience, you.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
Know, please do not move. There's more with Rob Cole
coming up next from NBC's The Voice. We're checking back
in with Rob Cole. We've got something in common and
it's a couple of dudes by the name of Dan
and Shaye. They came into my studio as total nobody's.
I mean they were nobody's and we sat there and
had a conversation one day because we were just killing time.
(04:27):
And then now look at them and look at how
they're sharing the experience with you, and it's like, when
I heard that you had a connection with him, I'm going, oh,
he's on his way because Dan and Shae with their way,
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, they're incredible. Man. I was grateful to
get to perform for him. They let him hear my voice,
and you know, they had nothing better to say about it,
you know when when I auditioned there in season twenty five,
and you know, they even made the comment, you know,
my hope is that we meet again somewhere down the road. Yeah,
So remind them that they said, Hey, maybe we should
(05:02):
play a show together down in Myrtle Beach. You know,
I'd love to. I'd love to bring that back up
and just see what they think. You know. But uh yeah, man,
this to be in the same conversation as pretty wild.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Well with all the festivals that are taking place, especially
here in the Carolinas. I mean, Charlotte has that big
three day festival where the entire day the world comes
here and it's like, well, why is it rob part
of this? Let's knock on that damn door.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yeah, come on, come, on. Let's uh, let's make it
happen for sure. Like I said, I'm I'm looking to
venture out. This Moorees opportunity I've gotten today is is
a is a great opportunity to get out in that area.
And so yeah, man, I really want to venture out.
And I'm representing the Carolinas, you know, I want to
get my feet in those areas so that I can
(05:44):
really see what all I'm representing, not just my community
but statewide.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
You know, are you going to get over there to
the Lake Norman area, Because I know that downtown Mooresville
is a little bit away from the lake, but at
least are you going to at least go over there
for a little bit.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
I do have some actions in that area. I've got
some friends that just fill a home right on Lake
Norman and a really nice home, and uh I played
for them a couple months back, and uh hoping, hoping
to get some more doors open over that way. For sure.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
What do you think that is the acoustics for Lake Norman?
Because I love performing at Lake normany it can't be
just that body of water. There's something in that area
that really embraces because when I go in there, with
that base s beaed to me, it is more genuine
than if I'm sitting in the studio, but it's at
Lake Norman.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yeah, yeah, Yeah, I don't know, I don't know, Like
you said, there might be something in the water. Man.
I think there's something unique about that every every every
part of North Carolina. You know, you you come to
my area and we've got artists, men that are un discovered,
that are that are just unreal voices that you are
so unique. And yeah, man, maybe maybe that's Lake Norman
(06:54):
sort of sort of what they give to the Carolinas.
You know, it's a beautiful thing.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Do they have festivals on boats out there? They go
out there to those islands that are out there on
the water and then and they'll it's like they'll they'll
set up on the pontoons and each each one of
those pontoons will have a different band. And you're going,
you've got to be kidding me.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Only on Lake Norman, Yeah, for sure, for sure.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
So now, what is it like for your kids to
see Dad on TV?
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Oh? Goodness, are it's hit? It's hit and miss. I
mean they're kids, they well some days it's like, oh
Dad's on TV. And other days it's like, oh, Dad's
on TV. OK, so it's hit or miss. You know,
they're nine, seven and six, and you know, I don't
think it's necessarily settled in for them yet. That's kind
(07:39):
of where I was when I was young. Everybody would
talk about my mom and this and that and how
amazing she was. I was like, Yeah, that's my mom. Yep. Cool.
But nowadays I see it in a different light, and
I think that's that's ultimately my goal for them is,
you know, I want them to experience this whole thing
as I'm experiencing it. But I know time will come
(08:01):
and they'll be able to see it in a different light.
And you know, know that that did something really cool
and maybe I can do the same thing, you know,
cause them to dream and everything. So they've been cool there.
They're the big shots at school right now. So that's fun.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
That's good. Did you get to see any of that
snow last night, because that's the first time that it's
snows in the Carolina the first time since nineteen sixty
It wasn't that beautiful last night?
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Yes? Yes, yes, it was really cool. I was. It
happened right as the episode was coming on. Yeah, yeah
it was, and I thought that was pretty cool. I
text Michael on my coach Blue Blay and let him
know we appreciate him sending that Canadian love all way
early for us because we don't ever see that here
in November.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
So true, so true. Where can people go to find
out more about you, Rob, because I want them to
jump on your party train and really give you lots
of love and support that extends beyond the Carolinas.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Absolutely go check me out on social media. That's a
huge thing, especially in the days we're living in TikTok. Facebook,
on Instagram, it's all Rob Cole music and from there
you'll be able to find everything you need to know
about me, where my shows, where I'm playing, I'm booking,
all that stuff.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
Yeah wow, Well, please come back to this show anytime
in the future, because the door is always going to
be open for you.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Rob. Thank you so much for having me.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Will you'd be brilliant today and enjoy your day in
Morrisville today
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yes, sir, thank you so much.
