Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, when it comes down to it, we really do
make a lot of choices in our everyday world. But
the question is, what's the podcast you're going to be
checking into today? Do you even have a choice? You do?
On arrow dot Net? Are dot net seventeen different podcasts
to choose from. Thank you so much for your love
and support. But it's extremely difficult to make up your mind.

(00:21):
I mean, having the power of choice can actually weaken
a person's heart. On this episode, we're going to explore judgment.
It's on the increase or is it? And why are
certain people such as preachers allowed to make a choice
to judge? Plus, what do you do if your spiritual
leader uses judgment as a tool. My name is Erro.

(00:42):
Life is a series of choices. Who decides when you're
not making the right choice? And is it a fear
out of things going wrong? The greatest lessons in life
are often lost inside hidden away attempts and concepts. Well,
it's time to reopen your heart. Having a choice is
your daily gift. On this highway, we're going to learn
how to trust mirages. What is the choice? Is judgment

(01:06):
on the increase? You know, making a choice to make known?
How you truly feel. Let's break that down. When someone
has made it known how they feel about a person
or an event, is that looked upon as making a choice.
Here's the shocker. Yeah it's a choice, but but but,
but but many experts see it as not being fully conscious.

(01:30):
The brain is actually designed to make quick observations and evaluations.
It's seeking patterns and matching that can lead to a
snap judgment. When face to face with such a place,
we should pause, question the thought, get serious, not critical,
then make the physical choice to judge or not to judge?

(01:52):
Is your next choice to not verbalize it? Or do
you walk away with a different interpretation? There truly is
a moment between react and response. That's where choice takes
up its residency. It's a habit to judge quickly. The
goal is to use awareness of self as your guide.

(02:13):
Judgment isn't always the choice, it's how you physically handle
it and handle yourself. That's where the real answer is
always going to be located. Coming up next, why does
it feel like preachers get away with judging? Hey, thanks
for coming back to the choice. Why does it feel

(02:34):
like preachers are giving a green light to make a
choice to judge. We're talking about the men and women
who guide their masses toward love, grace, and forgiveness. As
one mental health leader points out, it's not that preachers
should offer judgment. It just happens. Number One, they are
viewed as moral authorities. This is where opinion crosses over

(02:57):
into judgment. Followers assume their spiritual leaders are speaking for God,
so it's never questioned. Number Two. Many people confuse teaching
from judgment. Making the choice to call out a sin
can be done in a tone and delivery that's highly judgmental.

(03:18):
Number Three, A congregation doesn't challenge it spiritual leader's choice
to judge because who wants the conflict. There's a fear
of disrespect saying something could be disobedient. Preachers are all
given emotional powers of passion, conviction, and authority. Judgment can

(03:39):
sound like guidance. In most cases, preachers are allowed to
judge because spiritual energy protects them. It's not a right
or it's justified, but they still use it as that tool.
It is a choice. I marrow, and that's what I
was writing while the sun was waking up on a
brilliant new day.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
