I’m always asking questions.  The fun begins when you start researching for answers. Such as…   Gracie Allen is said to be one of the funniest entertainers in American broadcast history.  Did she have writers or was it all out Gracie Allen?  Plus…why has being burned out become the accepted behavior at home and the workplace?    I’m Arroe…  I am a daily writer.  A silent wolf.  I stand on the sidelines and do nothing but watch, listen study then activate.  I call it The Daily Mess.  A chronological walk through an everyday world.  Yes, it’s my morning writing.  As a receiver of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw it to the side and deal with it later.  When a subject arrives, I dig in.  It’s still keeping a journal!  By doing the research the picture becomes clearer.  This is the Daily Mess…

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Listening to a podcast to me is like listening to music.
You don't stay in the same genre. You're all over
the place, which is the reason why at Arrow dot
net Arroe dot net seventeen different podcasts to choose from,
Because we know that you're everywhere, why not be there
with you? I like asking questions, and the reason why
is because the fun begins when you start researching for answers,

(00:21):
such as Gracie Allen. She's said to be one of
the funniest entertainers in American broadcast history. Did she have writers?
Or was it all about Gracie Allen? Plus? Why has
been burned out? Become the accepted behavior at home as
well as the workplace. My name is Arrow. I'm a
daily writer, a silent wolf. I stand on the sidelines

(00:44):
and do nothing but watch, listen, study, then activate. I
call it the daily Mess, a chronological walk through an
everyday world. Yeah, it's my morning writing. As a receiver
of thoughts and ideas, we as people tend to throw
things to the side because we think we're gonna deal
with it later on. Well, when a subject arrives inside
of me, I know it's time to dig in. It's

(01:05):
still keeping that daily journal. But by doing the research
the picture becomes clearer. This is the daily mess. My
wife and I watch ancient shows of television because it
seems the writing and production were really onto something that
feels completely lost today. Who were the writers of such

(01:26):
shows as George Burns and Gracey Allen? I mean, all
of these years later, and the jokes still have an impact.
Believe it or not. There were four people who came
together as one to make not only the TV show
unforgettably in touch, but even the radio show still carries
a powerful punch today. The writers were Paul Hinning, who

(01:46):
went on to create The Beverly Hillbillies, Sidney Joseph Pearlman,
Nat Perrin, and George Burns himself. But but but but
but but something to keep in mind. Although Gracie Allen
had writers, it was her unique delivery and character that
brought her legions of fans and followers. She's described as

(02:08):
being illogical, logic and charmingly confused, and let it be known,
she depended on improvising to generate the perfect timing of
landing that joke. This has led multiple generations to believe
that she was her own writer. It's all about the delivery. Hey,

(02:29):
coming up next. Why does it feel like everybody is
burned out? Hey, welcome back to the daily Mess. Why
does it feel like we are surrounded by a bunch
of burnouts? And I'm not talking about potheads or drug abusers,
all burned out on chemicals and wants living plants. It's
not a hidden fact, the social burnout or the feeling

(02:52):
of being very disconnected. Why is it happening because we
have made it acceptable? Burnout used to be that hidden thing.
People push themselves through their mental storms, not advertising them
on TikTok or Instagram. In the past, showing stress made
you look weak. The workplace rewarded overworking. Today they demand

(03:16):
it and it's causing burnout. Saying that you're exhausted today
isn't a confession, It's a common experience. Burnout has a
new name today, such as mental load and I like
this one. Compassion fatigue. What's the deal today, dude? What's
going on? Well? I got compassion fatigue just sounds cool.
Research clearly shows once people have a name to what

(03:39):
they're feeling, they're going to start talking about it and
they're going to live it out openly. No boundaries, an
innocent passerby. They are now the new receiver because it's acceptable. No,
this generation is not burned out more than any other generation.
We just can't stop talking about it, and we've allowed
it to become our next big excuse to stay home

(04:02):
from work. M m m m m m m m
m mmmmm. I'm Marin and that's the daily mess.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
