craft that please do forget to Isubscribe. Whether it's a heart sorry,
it thumbs up, lets me knowthat I am in that you are entering
this podcast, and that helps mea lot. So thank you guys for
uh listening for last week. Iknow that it was not my regular scheduled
podcast, but they but as Isaid, I did hurt my hip and
(00:27):
yeah, uh there was no blogpost last week. The Motherhood collection is
still thirty percent off for two daysonly, which is May eighteenth, twenty
twenty Twitter for twenty twenty four, and that's when it will be ending.
I'll put the links down to that. But they are you Love Dirty Love
(00:47):
You thirty for that collection. Anythingelse you welcome ten for ten percent off
on your first order and cannot becombined when any other offers. Alrighty,
that's a mouthful. So today we'regonna be talking about some things that I
have just been the city, thingsthat have just not been making sense in
(01:08):
the city. You guys know,I love New York. I have been
a New Yorker born and raised herefor a little bit. I did love
leave for a little bit. Ithink about maybe a year or two or
maybe even more. I started myI think it was my second year of
(01:29):
high school. Here's when we cameback. So yeah, so that's that's
That's pretty much it. So Ididn't do basically, I didn't do junior
high school here and my first yearof high school. So yeah, moving
on. Basically, when I cameback, I was extremely happy to see
(01:49):
the improvements that that I was hopingfor. But as time went on,
I did see some disparacy, youknow, the same problems here and there
with UH with the city moving forward. So I'm gonna be honest with you.
My first I absolutely do not have, not, would not voted for
(02:20):
this person. Governor Hopeful is oneof the I kind of feel like she
is just I don't know, Idon't even know what to say about her.
(02:42):
But her last speech about the disparacyand technology for the Bronx was uncalled
for. The speech was deplorable, discussing racists and somebody should have double checked
(03:02):
that. Of course, everybody intheir mama knows what a computer is,
whether it is to use it accurately. Then maybe there might be just some
(03:24):
disparacy, especially with programs, becausesome of these programs are complex and it's
it's sad to to to hear ourmayor talk in that fashion. And I
(03:50):
I seriously was like, why aren'twe calling for her resignation? Why?
Hello, what's going on here?But that's just me and I'm I'm sure
you know, there are other youknow, people that may feel some more
(04:11):
strongly in that effect. But theonly thing that I can honestly say is
that maybe when it comes to technology, I don't think that the technology that
all schools have are being appropriate, you know, dispersely appropriate throughout the whole
(04:36):
borrels. And I think that theBronx unfortunately is getting the that's a good
and of the sick and maybe interms of I forgot what these programs are
called, uh, the correct terminology, coding and all that other you know,
(04:58):
good stuff that you know, kidsare nowadays, I don't think that
there are enough programs throughout the city, and possibly even worse for the Bronx
because unfortunately the Bronx, and wesay it like that, it is not
getting the love it deserves. Ithas been like this for years and it
just keeps on getting worse and worse. So I kind of feel like if
(05:26):
she said it in that term, maybe more eloquickly, I I would have
had, you know, more respectfor her. Have I had respect for
her? Not much. Do Ithink that she's a good governor. No.
I think that she is letting abig brother, big the business not
(05:49):
big brother. Basically, these developersand MCA money grabbing people get away with
murder and she is not putting offdown and say whoa, wait up.
He needs to really think about thisand this could you know, really be
(06:10):
a problem for New York if wedo it this way. We need to
figure out something else, and youknow, because it's probably making her money.
Like I don't want to accuse anybodyof anything, but you know,
I'm sure that somebody is gonna saythat, and I kind of feel that
way too, But uh yeah,no, I don't. I don't.
(06:31):
I don't. I don't agree withwith a lot of her a lot of
her policies, and I don't agreewith that speech that she recently put out.
And I think that, uh yeah, I think that her rackets and
nation should have been asked immediately. That's just me. And with that means
(06:55):
that our mayor is no good either. I don't like him. I've never
liked some I didn't like him whenhe was Gerliani's top cop. I think
that he was just like Gerliani, and I didn't like Giuliani as much either.
There were some policies that I didagree with, and I felt that
he was trying really hard. Butat the same time, I always felt
like he was trying to make himself, uh, make a name for himself,
(07:17):
and I kind of feel felt asalways that he was probably reaching for
governor and then probably you know, presidency. I've always felt that he was
always looking for bigger and better things, and the way you get bigger and
better things is by making policies thatmake a name for you, whether it
was bad or good, as longas people have me talking, you know,
(07:40):
because they're gonna be there are goingto be people that see your bad
policies, which are everybody else. But those people are gonna be like,
oh, that's great, and that'swhat we need and all tough love,
and it's like, okay, yeah, I know, that's definitely not what
we need. I kind of feellike he and in some respect has that
(08:05):
that mentality as far as you knowsome of the policies in terms of for
instance, they just bought the marinain Red Hook, and I'm thinking to
me, sof okay, why arewe buying this. They're talking about basically
possibly maybe turning it into freezers, you know, so that the what was
(08:28):
it, the groceries could send theirfood there or anything, you know,
use the waterways again for that AndI'm thinking, okay, you have to
stow up unload those packages. Soonce you do that, what happens then
you need to put the cars backinto the city and congestion pricing. How
(08:50):
are people going to you know, get away with that. I I just
don't. I don't see the logicand plans in this. He talks about,
Oh, we do need more housing, we need to work with people,
we need the rezoning, which nothingcame of that, and a lot
(09:13):
of people are saying that it can'tbe done because trying to rezone a a
building there was once used for officescan't be done. So I was thinking
maybe a school. My husband's like, oh, that's not gonna be you
know, that's not gonna make thestudy of money, which of course basically
that's what a boil is down toEverything boils down to money. MTA is
(09:35):
getting away with this because you know, hey, oh oh we need more
money, and it's like, oh, why not just text the drivers.
I don't understand. You want goodquality people. So the other girls and
the residents from Jersey come in andthen all of a sudden, you you,
(10:05):
you're like, oh no, weneed we need money. So you
know, that's more important than anythingelse. So I I know, and
I'm hoping. I'm praying that youknow, the business owners and the neighborhood
associations win despite in Long Island andJersey. You know, I hope we
we finally do win this because Idon't agree with conditional pizing. I think
(10:28):
that it's a rip off. Ithink that it's just across cash cow for
for the MT, and I'm wondering, you know, basically not really a
cash cow for the MT, becauselet's just be honest, the people who
are really gonna get the money arethe people who are operating and renting the
cameras. Those and the maintenance peoplethat are you know, gonna have to
(10:48):
if they don't use the same anyou know entity or the same you know
cause sometimes they outsource things like that, so who knows, you know,
if the same company that made them, who is monitoring them, does the
(11:09):
maintenance on these things. So that'smore money on top of that it's going
to be given away. And againI do not understand why people who already
pay for a road tax have topay condition pricing because that is in r
what is that registration when you soyeah, so that's absolutely insane, insane
(11:41):
m And it seems like less andless is going on with development in terms
of people giving, not giving, but allowing more units for low income families
(12:01):
or if they have them, whatthey do is they don't fix the items
that they need to fix, orwithin a year or two, the people
are out because they raise their minds. So yeah, so that's that's another
lovely little trick that they get awaywith so that they can move in people
that could pay more money. Soyeah. So and the city basically finally
(12:26):
crack down that, but let's seehow long that's gonna take for more and
more things like that to happen. So yeah. So those are the things
that I can honestly say without ashadow of a doubt that has been arguing
me with the city. I donot think that they are handling things that
they need to be handling. Andit's gonna be one crazy, crazy summer
(12:58):
it is. So please be safeout there, and let's hope for the
best for the city of New York. So I'm gonna end this here,
guys. I can go on andon and on about things that I don't
like about the city. And youknow, New Yorkers are New Yorkers.
(13:18):
We may be worth about the edges, but we are passionate about our city,
about our teams, about our culture, about our foods. But yeah,
we we We're in New York strong, and we're gonna get through this
somehow, one way or another. And so just keep your head up and
(13:43):
just remember who you are at theend of the day. That's you know,
That's who we are, alrighty, guys. I'm gonna end this here
and I will see you. Iwill talk to you next week. And
