Speaker 1 (01:06):
Ladies and gentlemen, May I have your attention please? The
show starts in.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Like eight.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Seven, six, five four three two fun go.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Well, Welcome, Welcome.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Want to welcome you guys back to another episode of
Up Close and Personal with the Queen on behalf of
Aspiring Authors magazine. I tell you, it's always an honor
and a privilege to be able to be in the mist,
to be able to be in the house. I have
truly enjoyed getting to know these amazing authors and to

(02:00):
share their brand and to share what they are doing
in twenty twenty five. I tell you the authors that
I have come in contact with so far, they are
definitely some authors to watch in twenty twenty five. And
I'm not expecting anything shy of tonight. So I want
you guys to grab your pins, your notebooks and get
ready to take some notes because I know she's dropping

(02:21):
some nuggets on tonight. So I want you guys to
brace yourself as I bring my amazing guests in the studio. Y'all,
come on, come on, come on. As we bring her
in the studio, let's welcome her to the studio. Hello, Hello,

(02:48):
how are you today? Absolutely not hello, everyone, ask you

(03:09):
alluded to. I am Rachel L.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Gary.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
I am an inspirational coach and author looking too and
have an opportunity to share some great things that are
going on in twenty twenty five. So I know a
lot of people they hear that word author and they
get scared because a lot of people want to publish,

(03:34):
they want to become an author.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
So I want.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
To dive into your journey. How did you come up
with your individual writing niche? How did you come up
with that thing that allowed you to be able to
express great question? I would say, don't be afraid, don't

(04:00):
be afraid of your story. That's in you, the creativity,
and that's in you will come out differently than the
creativity came out in me. So I'll tell a little
bit about what made me decide to be an author
and a little backstory about why I decided to write
my book. And at this point now was books wouldn't
ask so being an author, I would just say, is

(04:24):
it's really about finding your creativity. I write about self
growth through story, through life long stories.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
So that's how I have.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
I deliver my message to the world, and that message
is received has been received wildly in a in a
very positive way. But everyone takes opportunity and takes opportunity
to develop those things differently. So for me, I've been
writing poetry since I was a kid. So my nickname,

(04:59):
so you guys a gonna hear first hear my nickname
is Legend. So and that comes from the poetry that
I used to recite on stage. And at twelve years old,
I won a couple of contests and my cousin's named
me Legend. So my creativity sparked at that point.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
How So, how I.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Took my creativity for writing poetry and to writing a
book totally different genre, And the easiest way I would
say is that I'm very disciplined. I sat down and
took time and put together a plan of what I
wanted to accomplish by when and I began to write.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
So that's how I.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Started writing Fourth and Fire from Ashes to Empowerment, which
is a book that's out currently.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
So when you started doing portry, what was your inspiration
behind poetry in that avenue? Because here recently that has
been something that I've really been passionate about. I just
did a three book series. It's like everything for the

(06:11):
last two or three years has been around poetry.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
I actually have.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Six books, three series of poetry, not just myself but collaborations.
I think the last one there was forty poets that
shared inside of that book.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
So what has been.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Okay as far as poetry. I was inspired by my
environment and things on an everyday basis. So what I
I ain't want these people who I'm very impacted. So
life experiences, people and what they're doing affect me, very
affect me deeply. For me to get all of that
emotion from inside of me, I started writing poetry and

(06:53):
my ability to read. I read probably one hundred books
a year, and I've been reading that way since I
was a kid, So I felt that the easiest way
was for me to get those words out on paper.
And a little known factor about me is when I
was a kid, I stuttered really badly. However, when I

(07:14):
was doing poetry, I didn't have those those same issues.
So for poetry, I could I could express myself and
I and I embodied a different person. I was a
different person for poetry. So so for me, that was
my way of getting those emotions from within me and
bringing them to the world.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
And believe it that I stuttered too.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Oh wow, Wow.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Yes, And since I've been doing it's not been as bad.
Since I've been doing podcasts and I've been doing it
now for almost five years.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
It's gotten it's gotten better. But wow. So I see
that you have several books out, yes.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
And I also see that you have been a empowerment
and inspirational person. You've been doing this now for twenty
five years. You've been pouring into people and just leading away.
So I'm excited to have your part of this one
hundred author movement. What encouraged you to join this and

(08:25):
be a part of this. I'm big on celebration and
inclusion and working with great people, and I will say
that I definitely appreciate you guys, oh welcoming me with
open arms and sharing tigniques of nuggets of information.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
And I wull saying this. I was I was more
inspired by.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
The fact that I was nominated and I was nominated
to be all be part of the one hundred authors.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
That that was that was very to me.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Was it was I won't say a validation, It was
actually like a moment of clarity.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
That I am on my path, I am moving on
my mission and my.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Purpose is to inspire other people to find success in
their lives and grow to be the CEO of your life.
So that's what my mission is. So, as you alluded
to for the twenty five years, so I've been in
leadership for twenty five years in different facets. I started
my career at seven dollars an hour, and when I

(09:30):
left my corporate job a couple a year ago, I
was making multiple six figures and I felt that that
was an achievement of self. But how do I give
that back to other individuals? So throughout my whole career,
I build leaders. I built individuals, and I won't say

(09:51):
I built I collaborated with people who are ready to grow,
and with that collaboration, we were able to find them
on put them on a path of their success. So
that's what inspired me decide to be an inspirational leader
because I'll tell people I have a road map. Now
all of us will walk that path differently, but the

(10:13):
end result is that we're looking for success, empowerment and
guidance along the journey, and someone to help you when
you're tripping over your things in your life.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Someone who's been.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
There before is a lot easier to have a conversation
than trying to figure it all out by yourself. It's
always good to have that support system, I tell you
absolutely in that support system. What are a couple of
things that you would like to take away from being
a part of this movement? I know we expect certain things,
but what do you specifically want to take away? Just

(10:49):
one thing that you would like to leave saying? Because
I'm gonna telling you me like you, I am an encourager,
I'm an expirer.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
I live by these well their several to me.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Once that I did by but three that was dropped
in my spirit a couple of years ago, and that
was the E three experience.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Educate, empower, and encourage, and.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Everybody that come in my presence, I want them to
leave feeling that they have experienced the ultimate E three experience.
And that's anything, if it's being on the podcast, if
it's coming to one of our live events, if it's
a virtual man, whatever it is. I feel like there's
always an opportunity to educate somebody, there's always an opportunity
to empower them, and it's always an opportunity to encourage

(11:30):
them to.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Stay on that journey. And I say that you are
doing that.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Absolutely, and I would say that that is probably the
main purpose of me wanting to be with like minded individuals.
I have a big thing about pouring into you and
surrounding yourself with positive energy, positive people and positive things.
And very soon to what you said, like as I
said of what I may mentioned about being a c

(11:58):
EO of your life, that's being clear and your actions
empowered by your choices and owning your direction.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
So every single.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
One of us are a CEO as soon as we
take on the ownership and stop allowing things external of
us to stop us, hold us, hold us back.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
Because those are just obstacles.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Those are just self self things that we've we've thought
about that are stopping us. And very similar to what
you said, I have acronyms all over the place, So
I have a thing about fear. Fear is just fake
evidence of pearor real and and and as far as
I'm concerned, we have every tool in our tool kit

(12:38):
right now to be successful because we've survived something in
our lives, which is what force the fire from askers
to empowerment is about. It's about surviving your fight, being
understanding that once you're on the other side of it.
You're a survivor. Now let's figure out the tools that
are necessary for you to thrive. And and that's what

(12:59):
is all about at the end of the day, us
empowering each other, us supporting each other, and us saying
because there are so many authors just as you said,
not only are there authors who are who are apprehensive
about pouring into their pages on me put more in
their information on the pages. You have authors who are

(13:20):
once they published the once they got the book ready
and got it published, the next steps are where they
have the hardest time. How do you get that, get
those words to resonate with another individual, to get them
to pick up your book and start reading. You can
have the best story within that book, but if no
one read it, no one knows.

Speaker 4 (13:40):
So that is what I think that you guys bring
to the table.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
You bring a platform, not only a platform, and encouragement
behind the scenes, because I mean, I'm gonna tell you guys,
if you asn't haven't seen their chats. Man, the chats
are awesome because you hear who is encouragement in the chats.
So like as it was sick, everybody had words of encouragement.
Everyone everyone was ready to support the fact that you

(14:07):
were sick. Like when you told me that you were
ready to do the interview, I said, are you sure?

Speaker 4 (14:11):
Are you well?

Speaker 2 (14:12):
I can do it another day because and that is
the feeld that I got from every single person that
was on the chat.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
That's what you want.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
You want those people that are behind you, around you,
and with you, that are pour into you with positivity.
And that's what I'm looking for from the group, positivity
and us all working together toward a common goal success
for everyone, because I want everyone to know one thing,
money is abundant. Just because one person sold their book,

(14:41):
you can sell your book and everyone can sell their books.
These are money is energy. It's a current. It's a
current you which change energy to get the current. So
at the end of the day, your limitations on money
are limited to the energy in which you will provide.

(15:03):
So providing that positive energy brings up positive currents your way.
So that's that's what I'm looking for, that positivity, plus
to encourage each other to find and grow success. Sorry
I got I got on my soul box.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
I know how I am I.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
Mean, but those are nuggets that authors need to hear,
especially those authors that are having a hard time because,
like you say, we publish those books, we get those
books out there, but how do you get them in
in those hands of those readers, Like how do you
get them and how do you get them overseas? Like
I know individuals I know. I love opening up my

(15:40):
royalty thing and it got another symbol on the other sides,
the US dollars.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
I love seeing those symbols. When when I can.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
See those symbols on there, then I feel like I've
done something that I'm supposed to do on this journey.
So that's what we're trying to do over here, is
to show people. And I'm one of those those people.
You know, a lot of people say you always people
always wanting something for free. It's not that people always
wanting something for free. You if that you can put

(16:10):
value what may be, what may be low class or
free to somebody, if you can take that because they're free.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Features out there that I know get.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Seen by thousands and thousands of thousands of people because
I've seen people. I've heard people tell me I saw
you in shot out Atlanta. Who would have thought I
just did it? Because but who would you know? So
I take those opportunities, and every time somebody give them
to me, guess what they coming right over there to

(16:40):
that chat that you say, be jumping. That's so everyone.
I'm telling you, and anybody that truly know me, they
know that there's nothing that come to me that I
don't share. You know, if somebody want me to be
on their show, they better believe that I got to
bring somebody with me, You got to invite somebody else

(17:00):
or something like that.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
That's just how I am. So I truly.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Embraced you were nominated, and the individual that nominate you
was an amazing individual. She is amazing. I love her
with all my heart. She's like a big sister to me.
And the other three that she nominated, y'all come from
an amazing y'all come from an amazing program.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
So I didnt know that y'all are a part of
the DAG Awards. I've heard so much.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
I have not had the opportunity to be a part
of it, but I've heard so much about it from
some of the authors that I'm connected to that have
been a part of it. So I'm grateful for you
guys being a part of this amazing movie. And I
just look forward to working with you. I want you
to tell those that are tune in and listening, how

(17:54):
can they get those books, how can they follow you?
How can they support you?

Speaker 4 (17:59):
I appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
So how you can support me is making sure at
the end of the day you're ready for success, because
over here, anything that I work with work on is
about success.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
If you're ready, this is how you do it. Rachel L. Gary.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
On any social media platform, you can go there for
Rachel L. Gary, and my books are all located on
my website, sayiampossible dot com. So because at the end
of the day, there is nothing impossible. The word impossible
does not exist. It says I'm possible. Wow, that's amazing.

(18:39):
That is an amazing message and I like that. Definitely
appreciate you coming by and sharing with us on tonight.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
I definitely don't want to keep you loan.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Is there anything that you would like to leave with
those that are tuned in? Okay, I do want to
share something else I have on the horizon, So on
the horizon in the next couple of weeks, I will
be I have been asked to be a radio DJ
on my radio Chicago, So be on the lookout I
will be asking for amazing guests like the person who

(19:12):
has me here today, to join me on a platform
that I have. I have the privilege that I was
asked to join and bring inspiration.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
So currently, if you.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Guys are listening, drive down there, what the name of
my show should be? It's gonna be seven to nine
am on Wednesday mornings.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
That's what we talked about Wednesday or Monday mornings. And
what I'm I tell.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
You guys a couple of my thoughts. I want to say,
What's Up CEO or Wake Up CEO Morning show? But
drop in the comments what should.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
I name that show?

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Because right now I am on the horizon to help
other people find success, one person, one step at a time.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
It's not about It's not about one. It is about
day one.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Or just something you just said about the horizon that
would be good because that is rising in the morning.
That would be good. Took about the horizon? Or I
like wake Up CEO because that's your brand. Yep, So
say as I said, I appreciate that. That's one vote
for wake Up CEO. Drop me in a check guy
so I can see it and please pass on that deparation.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
Because I tell you. You'll see on my.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Page where I'll talk about all, I'll say which one
I picked, and then you'll see my logo where we
were creating a new logo brand just for the radio station.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
So I'm gonna be on my radio.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Chicago from seven to nine am starting in two weeks.
Be on the lookout for either What's Up CEO or
Wake Up CEO Morning Show.

Speaker 4 (20:50):

and their they have been pouring out, and I want you, guys.

Speaker 3 (21:41):

to hear the bad because they want to grow. They
want to be able to put out things that they
know you guys are going to enjoy and that you
guys are gonna grow from.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
So leave the.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Reviews, give them your thoughts, give them your honest thought.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
We won't it. We don't. We're not scared.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
We're not scared.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
We we we pour when I poured my heart out.
I sent my book to twelve people for my beta readers.
So I do have a second book coming out in
the next forty five days, so I'm still looking for
beta readers.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
So that's the second thing.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
If you guys want to be a beta reader, drop
it down there.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
Let me know. I'm looking for six more people to
be a beta reader.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
