Speaker 1 (00:00):
Get your Vikings updates with Justin Extrom on Purple Positivity
on Beer Belly Sports Radio Network, brought to you by
The Avenue Pizza before pizza became trendy. That's right, ladies
and gentlemen, this is purple positivity and I am Justin
Exter and we're going to try to keep it as
positive as possible when talking about our Minnesota Vikings brought

(00:23):
to you by Seventh Avenue Pizza on the Beer Belly
Sports Network. Okay, say it with me, everybody, just just
repeat after me. It is early yet. Okay, one more time,
it is early yet. However, that being said, the Vikings

(00:44):
looked like absolute garbage a week ago against the Chargers,
and I to be honest with you, I saw a
team that quit, that quit on their coach. Again, the
mantra is it is early yet, it's still early season.
In my humble estimation, you win out, you still get

(01:07):
a top half of the seeds like you you could
even get the two. Probably again, if you win out,
are they winning out? Probably not. I know this is
purple positivity, but just say it again. It is still
early or it is early yet, something like that. Just
just keep barreling that into your brain and we get

(01:29):
JJ McCarthy back. We obviously don't know what he is yet,
but I mean it's got to be better than what
we saw it up. Carson Wentz his go go has
Wentz wins it is. It is gone is not what
it Wentz was so and we don't even know. I
still don't think you can throw left. Thanks Arrifasan for

(01:50):
that one. That will always be in my brain. Anyway,
Vikings looked like trash. I saw a team that basically
quit on coach that third and one situation where it's
a everyone else in the NFL is going on it
going forward on fourth and one. Every other team I
watched that Sunday, they're in that part of the field,

(02:12):
maybe a little bit closer to midfield. But it looked
like Kevin O'Connell wanted to go for it on fourth
down and his team was already off the field, like
he was just staring at him, like what what do
you guys? Do it? Most teams are like, let's go
for it. We can get it. Well, absolutely, you can't
get it. If you're drying up two choice routes just

(02:36):
take forever to develop, and you have a guy in
your lap immediately, So vent just a little bit. That
was just me venting, just barely, you know, a little
bit of the what the fuck did I just see?
What the fuck did I just watch? Like the first
time I watched the second version of Old Boy for

(02:56):
the first time, felt like I had a brain tumor
or something going on in my brain. Apologize anybody that
actually has a brain tumor. My dad did have a
brain tumor, So I mean, don't get mad at me
for that. I don't want anybody get mad at me
for anything, because I don't write this shit down. I
just talk and I'm hoping that people enjoy it. I
know two people do, so that's cool. Thanks Bruce, Thanks Mom,

(03:18):
both of you that listen. Thanks a lot. You know,
actually my mom, I don't think my mom even knows
what I do for a living, let alone on the side.
So anyway, I think I have some other listener. Any
whoso vikes have an opportunity here going into Detroit. I

(03:38):
say the word opportunity loosely, as they are currently currently
I say nine and a half point underdogs going into Detroit.
I can't remember the last time the Vikings have been
nine and a half point underdogs, and I can definitely
like I don't have any staff that's in front of me,

(04:01):
but I can't believe they've ever been nine and a
half point underdogs to the Detroit Lions. Detroit Lions are
probably one of the better teams in the NFL, for
sure in the NFC, they're finally looking like it again.
Because it's early yet we right now is the meat
potatoes of this season. You gotta win a couple of

(04:24):
these games now, a couple of games that you're gonna
be underdogs. Do I think the Vikings win this game? No,
but I do think they take it a little closer
to the wire than nine and a half points away.
I got I hope because they got to show you something.
Because let's let's just go through like weird worst case scenarios.
You got blown out on Thursday night football, you have
an extra couple of days to prepare for the Detroit Lions.

(04:47):
You get to watch their game in real time while
you're sitting on here butts mini bye week, and you
look at stuff and you have have an opportunity here
where you can kind of shock the world. The Vikings
are a much better team when they're underdogs. I can't

(05:07):
I still can't believe nine and a half points, nine
and a half, eight and a half, whatever it is,
they can't lose that game by more than that. If
they do, then we start questioning a few things because
I know people say players want to play for Kevin O'Connell. Yeah,

(05:31):
so it seems like they really love playing for him
when they win. Say they lose a third straight game
here and it's against Detroit and they get embarrassed, embarrassed
at at noon game in Detroit. Say it's like a
thirty five to ten game, and I say that score,

(05:54):
like that seems possible, and that sucks when doing a
Purple Positivity podcast talking about Vikings, like, it really sucks
when you say the score or losing thirty five to
ten and you kind of can envision that. Let's just
hope I'm wrong, because I'm wrong a lot. You guys,
both of you that listen to this, know that I
am wrong a lot. I think if Van Gink comes back,

(06:20):
that's a big upgrade because Dallas Turner, sorry, man, I
was your biggest cheerleader. I thought it was like one
of the best draft scenarios possible you falling and then
us going up and getting you using a first round
pick from just this past year on you. I thought
that was a steal. I thought it was a steal

(06:41):
of the draft, my good man. And you just have
not showed that you can be in the position that
they put you in and deserve playing time. That sucks,
because man, I put all my eggs into that basket,
and I was like, Yep, Dallas Turner's going to be
a Sooner star. We're gonna have him for five solid years.

(07:03):
He's gonna be well on a trajectory. That man's gonna
get paid. Now doesn't even look like he belongs on
an NFL roster, let alone in the starting rotation, so
Van Ginkle. Those neck injuries, those suck, man, They take forever.
A few guys like Daniel Hunter and a couple other
guys where we didn't know what was happening with them
for a while. Like with their neck injuries, you just

(07:27):
just when you see neck, you go, oh crap. I mean,
first off, good for them for having one, since I
don't mind I lost my neck back in like eighth
and a half grade. But I think getting a few
of the guys on the offensive line. Healthy would be nice.
Having both tackles would be nice, but all the pressure

(07:47):
has been coming from the middle. So young mister Jackson,
get better cause you don't exactly have a shitty defense
going against you. I have the Detroit Lions on my
fantasy football team. I have them as my defense. They're
projected to get like nine points, so I mean that's

(08:10):
that's pretty high for the defense, just a projection anyway.
I mean, they're probably not gonna get If they get
nine or ten, I'm happy with it. I just don't
want them to get like twenty. I don't want them
scoring twenty points for me because that means they house
called a few things. JJ McCarthy comes back. He's the guy.

(08:31):
This is his time. You got two tough, tough games
coming up here. The schedule gets a little better, but
right now you're going against Detroit Lions. I see them
top three in the NFL most places. I think they're
probably the second, maybe the third best team in all
of football. It just depends on what Kansas City Chiefs

(08:54):
team is there. Because they're they're good, and Eagles are good,
they're I think Detroit right now, man, they are playing
at a very very nice clip. It's gonna be tough
going into Detroit taking them on in a newing game.
I just want to see the team show up right away.
You know. Awesome it would be if a Kevin O'Connell

(09:14):
led team comes out in the first quarter and just
give me twenty one points. Just all of a sudden,
everything clicks. Everything that you're trying to do clicks, twenty
one points, boom up, twenty one nothing. Give me that.
Then I'll come out here and spit nothing but positive purveyorism.
That's not a word, but I will be the purple

(09:36):
purveyor of positivity to the tenth degree. If you give
me twenty one points, twenty one answered points in the
first quarter, that would be awesome. Problem is a might
not be enough. That's a that's a sarcastic h that's
a laugh, like I made myself laugh because I just

(09:58):
don't see it this week. I hope I'm wrong. I
think the Bikes lose. I don't think it's gonna be
by nine and a half or eight and a half.
I think they lose by one full score though, for sure,
one full touchdown. I think I'm gonna go Prediction of
Vikings lose. Man, let's go thirty twenty three. Vikings lose

(10:25):
thirty to twenty three. They lose by seven. They have
a chance late in the fourth quarter to potentially tie
it up and steal it, may possibly steal one on
the road, and they do not do it. So give
me thirty to twenty three Vikes lose. I think they
cover that eight and a half as I predicted. On

(10:48):
beer Billy Sports. I think we do the pick 'ems
each week. They only let me do the Vikings one
because they know I'm absolute trash up picking everything else,
or they just don't want me. They don't want my
face up there all the time, like all those beautiful guys.
That beautiful for some. That's a beautiful for some for sure.
If you're gonna barrel into four dudes, those are the
four dudes you want to barrel into, because man, there's

(11:09):
a bunch of hunky honky man meet. Those guys are
beer Belly Sports I'm talking about. And something else you
want to barrel into. Seventh Avenue pizza. It's getting a
little colder right now. Still smoke that pizza. That's the
only way I try to do them. On Sundays. Now,
Smoke a breakfast pizza. You won't go wrong. Throw some
hot honey on top of it. My god, it's like

(11:31):
a it's just it's a party in my mouth and
everybody's coming. You know that kind of thing. But I'm
telling you right now, if the bikes find a way
to witness game, I will be much more positive next week,
I promise. But until then, skull bitches

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
