Speaker 1 (00:00):
Is now a time for Minnesota Golden Gophers after dark
with the Minnesota sports governor. Vince Right, what's going on, everybody?
Vince Right to sports governor, we are back right on
the edge with Gophers after dark, And well it's after dark,
it's the day after the game Minnesota twenty seven, Perdue

(00:22):
twenty in. What I think you will probably have to
agree is one of the weirdest victories in Gophers history,
especially Gopher recent history. This game was crazy stat wise.
You know, Purdue dominated, and this was a Purdue team

(00:43):
that ranks somewhere in like the hundreds for you know, rushing,
and then they come in here and throw over two
hundred yards rushing on the Gophers over two hundred yards passing.
But they did throw a couple interceptions. Ryan Brown, their quarterback,
threw a couple interceptions, one ran back by the Gopher
All American mister Coroy Perrich And that was the difference

(01:07):
in the game. And let's just talk about this Gophers
team real quick, and I'll get back to Purdue because well,
actually here, let's talk about Purdue real quick. Here on
Gophers after dark. They came in and they did what
they had to do. Early on. They came out big
score right off the bat there, and it was just like, man,

(01:28):
this is ugly already. You know, single tender he rushed
for a forty yard touchdown right up the middle on
the Gophers right off the bat, first quarter and Gophers
down seven to nothing. They go down ten nothing, and yeah,
you're getting that vibe in the crowd. Matt Geffrey bar
Belly Sports CEO, he was in the house and it

(01:49):
was great catching up with him in person and nice
to meet his new lady friend as well. But I
gotta tell you, man, Purdue, you know, they came in,
they did what they had to do. A neck crowd
all of a sudden, it's like, come on, man, this
is homecoming. What's going on here? What's going on? Well, anyway,
Drake Lindsey he hits Lemacky Breckington for a twenty four

(02:13):
yard touchdown. Gophers get it to within three, Gopher field goal,
get to tied up, but here comes Purdue again, right
back with another drive, taking time off the clock too.
That was the thing. This game went on forever with
all the TV timeouts and whatnot, but Purdue goes back
up sixteen ten or excuse me seventeen to ten. Gophers

(02:35):
get a field going. In the third quarter, you know,
Purdue goes up twenty thirteen. And then the fourth quarter,
you know, got to give the Gophers their due. Drake
Lindsay leads them down the field, they get a touchdown,
get the game tied, and then of course, right after
that touchdown, the interception deep in Purdue territory, Parents returns

(02:59):
it for a touchdown extra point. Good Gophers go up
twenty seven to twenty, which is where the game ends.
But like I said, Purdue total yards four hundred and
fifty six to the Gophers two hundred and sixty two.
Gophers only had thirty rushing yards in this game. Don't
know what is going on with this offensive line. Don't
know what mister coordinator Harball is, what his scheme is there.

(03:24):
I don't know if we just don't have the players,
well we don't as of right now. They seem to
be a little bit better in pass defense. But as
I heard on other Gopher talk shows after the game
last night and some this morning, you know, you see
the Gophers kind of doing the swinging pass a little bit,
those screen passes, and that's just to kind of get

(03:46):
it out there on the edge because they can't run
the ball up the middle. I mean, they just can't
run the ball. And this is something that as a
Gopher a fan, you know, we're used to all these
you know, big time Gopher running backs in our past
and everything else, but it is just not happening right
now for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. So with that being said,

(04:09):
they did escape again twenty seven to twenty. But this
team's gonna have to play a whole lot better if
they're gonna get a win Friday night now against the Nebraska,
an improved Nebraska team coming in. Finally, they are back
in the top twenty five, so you know they are
gonna be ready to go. Have a few big red

(04:30):
fans in the crowd obviously that you know, there's usually
a lot of Nebraska fans that make that trek up.
I don't know if the game being on a Friday
night will alter that, but we will see. But the
Gophers gotta they gotta get much better. But the thing
is is this who the Gophers are, folks. I think
this just may be the year. And you know we're

(04:52):
in nil. So it's not like you can go, oh, well, Hey,
next year, you know, we'll have this progression and get
better because the team may be totally different next year.
So Gophers again in twenty seven and a very odd,
very interesting game. They got the win. That's what matters.
But coaching's got to get better. Everything's got to get better,

(05:15):
and otherwise it's it will be a long seasons. We're
starting to get to the you know, some very meaty
teams here. I will coming up as well here soon.
So there you go. I am Vince Right to sports
governor here on the Beer Belly Sports Network. Thanks for
tuning in Gopher's After Dark Raw

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
