I want to straighten something out first, if I can

Uh, I thought brother jack wasabout 82 but he's only about 80,
so I missed it a couple ofyears.
And uh, we just appreciate somuch him and sister corley and
jackie coming up here all theway from down home to be with us

Brother brought him up here.
He and his wife brought him uphere.
We appreciate very much BrotherSE Watts and his wife taking
Brother Jack and bringing him uphere.
And then there's Brother JimmyLloyd, another good preacher and
pastor in our community, andhis wife.
But Jimmy Lord was in thehospital last week and I visited

him and looked like he wasn'tgoing to get to come.
And he's got out and he had tohave had a funeral.
And then he's come on up hereand we're glad they're up here
with us.
And I told Sister Mavis lastnight I didn't see him.
I wish they'd have stuck up anorange flag.
I could have knew that theywere back there.
Then it would have helped me alittle bit.
But the devil knew they wasback there Because he knows

they're prayer warriors.
And, brother Jimmy Lord, don'tyou think you could get your old
pastor to come up here and helpyou sing a song.
I believe you could, he couldhelp you.
And sister Lord and sisterMavis sang one.
I'll tell you what I appreciateour elders, those that have held

the lamplight, those that havestayed true and held the gospel
down through the years.
I just appreciate them so much.

I was really hoping andtrusting that tonight that the

Lord would move in such a waythat I wouldn't have to preach
the message that I feel like theLord had had me to preach.
In fact, I've wrestled all daylong to try to get away from it.
I've tried my best to findsomething else that I feel like
God would approve of for such atime as this.

I even come into church tonightand I begin to toss other
scriptures and look at otherthings because I'd rather preach
them as far as the natural manthan preach what is on my heart.
If I had my way about it rightnow, I'd rather pull off my

glasses and let somebody slap meon both cheeks just as hard as
they possibly could.
Maybe hard enough that theblood would run out my lips.
Maybe hard enough, the bloodwould run out my nose.
I'd rather tonight somebody totake their belt off and me pull

off my coat and off my shirtdown to my undershirt and turn
my back and say put stripes uponmy back than to preach what
God's laid on my heart.
Tonight there's a heavinesshanging over this congregation.

This word let alone means donot bother anymore, do not
disturb, do not go on to or to,do not request or speak or

We're living in a day when whenpeople want to just simply be
left alone.
There was a time when you knewyour neighbor next door.

There was a time there was nosuch thing as a privacy fence
and everybody on the block kneweverybody.
Everybody in the community kneweverybody, and in the little
towns, everybody in town kneweverybody.

And everybody knew everybodyelse's children in the town and
they knew the occupation of thenext feller and they knew about
their life.
They knew about their life.
But we've come to a day in oursociety when we cherish our

privacy more than we cherishfriendship with some people.
Now I'm not against youbuilding a fence.
Let me get that straight rightnow.

There's a lot of folks that gotfenced up, that hadn't ever dug
a hole and put up a post.
But this day that we're living,we want to just simply be, let

alone left alone.
Don't bother me.
Let me do what I want to do.
Let me do it like I want to doand I'm sorry to say but it's
come that way to the churchworld and to the Christian
spirits of today.
A lot of people don't want youto preach nothing but love to

them.
It's a love gospel all the way.
Now, Love everything, Amen.
Love everything, Hate nothing,I mean, just love it all.
And I know you got to love andI know the Bible teaches love.
And one camp meeting that I waspreaching one of the board
members come to me.
And I know the Bible teacheslove.

members come to me and of courseI was kind of whittling a
little bit.
You know, I was kind of shakinga few bushes and, believe it or
not, I sometimes get a burdenfor something besides lost folks

And I was preaching a littleholiness, you know, that's words

in the Bible.
And one of the committeemencome to me and he said he said
I'll tell you, brother, I thinkwe ought to just preach love.
I said well, it all depends nowhere.
And he said what do you mean?
I said well, the Bible saidJohn, said he that loveth the
world, the love of the Father isnot in him.

So it all depends on what kindof love you're preaching.
What a sad statement made bythe Son of God to the disciples
concerning the Pharisees, whowere offended at what he had
said.

They were ready to let go and take a rise and look
and smile and get their handsstraightened up here, jesus said
let them alone, Leave themalone.

I'm afraid that attitude might be in the midst
of us tonight, among some.
I'm afraid there are sometonight and there are some in
this surrounding area that theydon't want to be disturbed.
They don't want you to knock ontheir door and say, look, we'd
like to have you over at thetabernacle, we'd like for you to

visit us and come to theservice and come to the camp
meeting.
They don't want that, they wantto be left alone.
And then I'm afraid there aresome possibly that come to this
camp meeting.
Though you come, you don't wantanybody to talk to you, you
don't want anybody to disturbyou, you don't want anybody to

come to you and live with you.
Let me say you better, thankGod that somebody's got enough
burden and the Lord has beensure enough about you that he
would send somebody to you andbeg you not to go to hell, and
that he's going to do it.

Oh hallelujah.
I know there's been burdensupon the hearts of some of the
saints.
There's been people that havebeen praying and weeping and
crying and seeking God.

Some years ago my wife's uncleand I used to coon hunt quite a
bit together and he had broughta man down from Cordele to hunt

with us and he had some dogs.
And I had brought a man downfrom Cordele to hunt with us and
he had some dogs and I had somedogs.
And we went over in a big trackof land, possibly somewhere as
800 acres track of land.
There's just a few little woodroads running through it and our
dog got after that.
My dogs that night got after abobcat and I don't know if you

know anything about bobcats somuch, but they jump.
They jump out quite often,especially if you go to flashing
a light and a human being go inthe car.
And that night they jumped thiscat and they run him and we
tried to get the dogs.
I told my wife I said you stayover here, you and this man with

the vehicles.
I'll take mine and go around toanother little road where I
knew that they were comingacross back in those woods and I
said I'll be there and I'llcatch them when they cross the
road.
I run over there and jumped outof the car.
And, sure enough, that bobcatwent up the tree, just a few
yards out there in my sight, andI forgot about my flashlight

and I dashed out into thosewoods without a moonlight,
without a star.
It was an overcast night and Irun toward those dogs where they
were barking to catch up, totry to get a hope to the dogs,
and the bobcat jumped out andaway, he went and the dogs ran.
There I was in those woods,alone, alone, some three or four

(19:56):
miles across.
John was my wise uncle, but hecould not hear my cry.
I began to break twigs to makesure I didn't make circles.
But you'd see, it was so dark Icouldn't tell when I'd broke
one and where I broke one I'dstumble around alone, alone, oh,

for sometimes I fought thosebriars and bushes and I
staggered in the things that Ididn't realize was there.
I'd hunted in here at times andtimes before, but that night I
was alone, without a light, leftalone.
How glad I was to see thatstarlight coming down those wood

roads, though I was only a fewyards away from the road.

I'd staggered around alone.

The husband went for the figtree to be, let alone for one
more year, and he got hispetition and so it was let alone

for one more year.

And he said look, I was livingalone for one more year.
I tell you who's there to help.

And he said look he's joined to his idols.
He wants to go to the bar room.
He wants to stay on news.

A few years ago, when I firststarted preaching, I could

they'd jump up and run to thealtar and go to scream and cry.
I want to ask you preacherssomething how long has it been
since you've seen it on thiswide?
Oh, I'm beginning to wonder ifGod isn't about us alone.
Oh, I told some of them Ifirmly believe it that God was

ready to shut this meeting down.
As far as for his part, butafter Tuesday night, oh, but at
4.39, a Wednesday morning, whileI'm laying in the floor in my
room crying and blabbering, Iheard the Lord say I'll call.
Heard of one say I'll call onemore time or visit one more time

Jesus, there was a time when you could be having a
meeting like this and peoplewould go home and lay in their
beds and cry Some of you thatare sitting on the sound of my
voice.
There was a time that you wereso disturbed and so convicted
and so at unrest because youknew of your condition that

you'd lay awake most of thenight rolling in tummies.
God was going to call you tothe judgment, but you wore it
all so much and spurned it awayso many times.
Until when the Lord deals withyou and calls you, it doesn't
bother you anymore.

I know of a story of a certainyoung girl down in South Georgia

who, back in the years whenthey had the old square dances.
She was an outstanding pianoplayer for that day, but she
could really make the music withthe.
She was an outstanding pianoplayer for that day.
Ah, she could really make themusic with the old piano and
they could dance those squaredances.

She knew all the tunes, she knew how to do it,
and she knew how to make themusic.

They could drown, that everybody wanted to dance
at the square dance, ah.
But the Lord dealt with theheart.
God convicted her by the HolyGhost and she went to the altar
and prayed and the Lord that oldcrowd come back after a while
and they said to her said, look,the dance is not the same

without you.
The music just is not the righttune or the right rhythm
without you playing.
And won't you come?
No, no, I've been saved.
The Lord saved me.
I'm not going back.
I'm saved.
I'm going to church and playingsongs for Jesus.
But they kept coming back.

Solomon said my son, if sinnersentice thee, consent thou not at
the piano and begin to play.

And as she played, conviction,the grip of the heart, the Holy
Ghost convicted her, said youknow you don't need to be here.
You know this is no place for aChristian.
You know this is not right.
She could not get enoughplaying.
Her piano playing was not likeit ought to be.

Finally, she dismissed herselffrom the room and from the piano
and went into a room up, thatempty room where there was
nobody, and she went in and sheclosed the door and she said my
god, please be alone.

Look, the door is wide for me.

So I can enjoy this music in this day.
And the story goes on to saythat it left her and she walked
out and closed the door.
She sat down at the piano andbegan to play.
Then she was happy, she was gay, she laughed, she became the

limelight of the whole dancethat night.
The next is to come, but nobodyliked her for some few years
nobody like her.
For some few years she could notplay and have so much fun as
she did, but she was shaken witha dreaded disease and coming

nigh unto death.
Her mother began to cry and begher oh, mother, pray, daughter,
won't you pray, daughter, won'tyou pray, daughter, won't you
pray?
She was nigh unto death and shelooked at her mother and told
her the sad story and said I'mon a certain night at a certain
place.

I walked into a empty room andshut the door and I said Spirit
of God, leave me alone.

And said he took me along and I zoomed in down, but
it was one time, stayed.
He left me alone.
He'll never deal with me again.
He died.
I didn't check him out yourcare.
I don't want him without yourlove.
I don't want him without youraction.

There's been saints of God.
That's been a prayer and Ibelieve that's why God let you
alone You're the one that's whatyou have to have that.

seen somebody come to a mountainand it had telling up rise to
it and it dropped straight offand this person come and I
hollered as I listened and Ihollered and I singled them as

they done this and they took thespirit fully that they could
never return that nothing neverreturns, oh God.

to the church where I'm passingfor a while they've done good

church and both of them doinggood for God and they left us
after a week of prayer and talk,and prayer and talk, and one
day.
I was praying for them and itseemed like that a boy said to

folks in the house and said lethim alone, let him go.

I'd be glad to help him, but I just tell you the
cold facts I got no burden forhim.
I don't know how the rescuepreachers operate, but I kind of

Some folks think you know apreacher just walks around in
the Spirit and he just rattlesoff revelations every time he
bunts his eyes.
If you know one of those fellaslike that, you better leave him
