Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is for us to be
here in these services with you.
We really do appreciate yourpastor and his wife.
And when I was a younger pastorI've pastored a few years now
and learned a few things and Iguess I've kind of learned that
I really don't know as much as Ineed to know and would like to
(00:23):
know.
But days gone by, there weretimes that I had some situations
and I didn't know what to doand I thought the best thing was
to try to find somebody thatmight know what to do.
And so I called your pastor inconfidence and said Brother
Gabbard, and he always had timefor me and I appreciate that, I
(00:46):
really do, and he gave me somevery sound advice and I
appreciate him and he's preachedfor us before and, for whatever
reason, he's never broughtSister Ann down our way.
I don't know if he's afraidwe'd take her hostage and
wouldn't let her come back homeor what, but we appreciate her
(01:06):
and I want to say how much Iappreciate the church here.
I want to thank you for yourfaithfulness in putting on the
camp meeting year after year, fellowship meeting, whichever
you call it.
I understand that, havingpastored and having a fellowship
meeting, a smaller church and asmaller fellowship meeting,
some of the responsibilities, and there's a lot that goes into
(01:26):
it, a lot more than most peoplerealize.
And even though we have notbeen able in the last few years
to come to the meeting as wewould like to have, we have
encouraged our people to comeand there are some that have
faithfully come and we encouragethem to do so.
And I want to thank you becauseyou may or may not and I'm not
(01:51):
really thinking of anybody rightnow but there's a lot of places
that I can't encourage thechurch that I pastor to go to.
I can't do it.
I'm battling enough worldlinessas it is without having them go
there and pick up that spiritand want to bring it back.
But I feel safe saying you cango to Bond and you can go to
(02:17):
Brother Gabbard's meeting and Ifeel confident and I appreciate
that and I want you to know thatI do.
And, as I said, we have severalfolks and this is one of their
favorite places to come and Iremember the last year that I
was here and I can't rememberwhat year it was, but there's a
(02:38):
sister in the church that's kindof a bookworm.
She likes books and I do too,and most preachers do and she
had gotten a conversation withBrother Cox and of course you
know Brother Cox and if my mindserves me correctly, he gave her
a book and oh, she was so proudof that.
She came back, brother Jeff, with that book that Ralph Cox
(03:01):
gave her, and I marched in thatsame Sunday morning, had to get
somebody to help me.
Brother Gabbard gave me amulti-volume set on church
history, and so she came in withher one little book and I came
in with my multi-volume.
She said Brother Cox gave me abook.
I said Brother Gabbard gave mebooks.
(03:23):
Amen, those books are still onthe shelf.
Well, I felt a burden all dayfor the service tonight and it's
still on my heart.
I'd love for God to touchsomebody tonight.
Oh, I feel the good spirit ofthe Lord, don't you?
I felt his presence already, haven't you?
(03:43):
I felt his presence already, haven't you?
I feel his presence right now.
I believe the Lord's going tohelp tonight.
Now let me tell you this Godwill never stop the devil.
I mean, the devil will neverstop God.
The devil will never, neverstop God.
The devil will stop you, but hewon't stop God.
So how about?
(04:04):
Let's not let the devil stop ustonight.
Would you say amen, amen.
How many will raise your handand say Preacher, I'm going to
do my best to resist the deviltonight and believe that God is
going to give us victory in thealtar, amen.
We're going to sing a littlesong and it was on my heart
praying today, the second time Ithink we've sung it.
(04:26):
I don't know if we'll get theparts right.
I'm not even sure I know thewords.
You've heard it sung severaltimes, I'm sure.
Why don't you help us sing thislittle old song?
And it goes something like thisyou got that right there.
If I could but touch the hem ofHis garment, if I could but
(04:52):
touch some part of His clothes,I know I'd be healed, my sins
all forgiven, if I could buttouch him.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
I know I'd be whole.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Oh, if I could but
touch, if I could but touch the
heel of his garment.
Oh, if I could but touch.
If I could but touch, if Icould but touch Some part of
these clothes, I know I'd behealed.
I know I'd be healed, my sinsall forgiven, oh if I could but
(05:40):
touch, I know I'd be whole.
A woman.
One day she tried manyphysicians but rather grew worse
.
In the Bible, we're told Oneday, when she heard, she then
(06:04):
came to Jesus and she found whatshe needed her body and soul.
Oh, if I could but touch thehuman's garment.
Yes, if I could but touch.
If I could but touch Of somepart of His glory, I know I'd be
(06:32):
healed, my sins all forgiven.
If I could but touch Him, Iknow I'd be forgiven.
If I could but touch him, I'dknow I'd be forgiven.
Yeah, if I could but touch.
If I could but touch, oh, he'llknow I'll be forgiven.
Yeah, if I could but touch.
(06:55):
If I could but touch so far tobe disclosed, I know I'd be
healed.
I know I'd be healed If I hadsins all forgiven.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
If I could not touch
Him, I know I'd be whole.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
One day I sat by the
wayside begging, no one there to
help, no life's weary road.
But my Jesus passed by and heheard my crying and he touched
(07:40):
and he healed me On that day.
Oh, if I could but touch and hetouched and he healed me on
that day.
Oh, if I could but touch.
Oh, to hear my discarment.
If I could but touch, oh, somepart of his cloth, I'll know
(08:03):
I'll be healed, my sins allforgiven.
If I could but touch him, Iknow I'd be whole.
If you could but touch, I'dheal my miscarriage.
(08:23):
So, if you could but touch Somepart of these clothes, well, I
know you'd be healed and yoursins all forgiven.
If you could but touch him, Iknow you'd be full.
(08:45):
Sing it with me oh, if I couldbut touch.
If I could but touch, oh, thehymn of his garment.
Oh, if I could but touch.
If I could but touch, oh, somepart of his glow, I know I'd be
him.
(09:05):
I know I'd be healed, my sinsall forgiven.
Oh, if I could both touch Him,I know I'd be whole.
Could you raise your hand?
Praise God Again.
(09:41):
Thank you for everything thatyou've done to make our stay
enjoyable.
We've certainly enjoyed thefellowship, not only you, fine
people, but Sister Hudson'sfamily being with us, and
they'll be leaving tomorrow.
We certainly do appreciate them.
I have felt the burden of theLord all day for this service.
(10:03):
I have felt the burden of theLord all day for this service
and several my wife's uncleasked me earlier on, said well,
have you got it for tonight?
I said, well, I know where I'mgoing, but I'm just not sure how
(10:23):
I'm going to get there.
And I want you to pray.
I know you will, but I wouldlove to see God turn these
altars into raging fire tonight.
I feel the Lord.
I want to say this In prayinghere at the church, I felt such
a closeness of the presence ofGod and the Lord's Spirit so
(10:43):
near during the day Amen, I justcan't hardly believe he'd be
here, brother Carpenter, duringthe day and not be here tonight.
Has anybody felt the Lord heretonight?
I said, has anybody felt theLord here tonight?
Excuse me if I digress just amoment before we get into the
(11:05):
word of the Lord here tonight.
Excuse me if I digress just amoment before we get into the
word of the Lord, but I don'tknow a lot about Kentucky
politics.
I really don't.
I don't know who is yourgovernor.
Does anybody know who thegovernor of Kentucky is?
Who's that?
All right, I'm not acquaintedwith your senators from this
(11:26):
state in Washington DC.
Would somebody enlighten me onwho they are?
All right, mitch McConnell, Ithink he's the Senate Minority
Leader, is that right?
Okay, but let me ask you aquestion.
The governor of the state ofKentucky, the senators from the
(11:46):
state of Kentucky, have theyever been here?
Have they ever been to the bondhole in this church?
Never have.
You mean, you folks don't rankhigh enough for them Seem like
not.
Would anybody happen to know?
Would anybody happen to knowwho the president of the United
States is?
I got a moan and a groan out ofthat one, didn't I?
(12:09):
But has he ever been here Withrespect to the office, has he
ever been here?
You don't rank high enough, butyet already tonight, the God of
heaven is in this building.
(12:29):
The president wouldn't come.
The governor's never been here.
The senators don't even knowyour name.
But the God of heaven is hereright now, right now, right now,
right now, right now.
And yet we still just kind ofsit here.
(12:54):
Let's be attuned to the spiritof the Lord tonight, reading in
the book of Revelation.
Amen, if you'd like to turnwith us.
Oh God, would you help ustonight?
Lord Revelation, chapter 3.
Oh God, would you help ustonight?
Lord Revelation, chapter 3.
And verse number 1.
And unto the angel of thechurch in Sardis write these
(13:15):
things saith he that hath theseven spirits of God and the
seven stars.
I know thy works, that thouhast a name, that thou livest
and art dead.
Be watchful and strengthen thethings which remain, that are
ready to die, for I have notfound thy works perfect before
God.
Remember, therefore, how thouhast received and heard, and
(13:39):
hold fast and repent.
If, therefore, thou shalt notwatch, I will come on thee as a
thief, and thou shalt not knowwhat hour I will come upon thee.
Thou hast a few names, even inSardis, which have not defiled
their garments.
They shall walk with me inwhite, for they are worthy.
He that overcometh the sameshall be clothed in white
(14:02):
raiment, and I will not blot outhis name out of the book of
life, but I will confess hisname before my Father and before
his angels.
He that hath an ear, let himhear what the Spirit saith unto
the churches.
He is calling your attention toverse number two Be watchful
and strengthen the things whichremain that are ready to die,
(14:27):
that are ready to die.
Would you pray, brother Gabbard?
Ask God to help us tonight.
Oh great God, almighty in thename of the Lord.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
glory be to you Again
.
We ask the canopy of your gloryto settle around this
congregation now, as the man ofGod visits the divine.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Oh God, amen.
As I mentioned to you lastnight, I have great respect for
(15:06):
those who have studiedeschatology and last day things
and I have a few ideas andthoughts concerning the last
days.
But I don't consider myself inany way to be a scholar.
But I really don't think thatanybody has to be much of a
scholar when it comes to lastday events to realize that we
(15:28):
are living in the last day.
You really don't have to know alot of Greek and a lot of
Hebrew and have read a lot ofmaterials to know that we are
living in the last hour.
Amen.
If I were to take a polltonight and say how many of you
believe whether you're pre, midor post in your rapture doctrine
, how many of you believe thatwe're living in the last day,
(15:51):
would you raise your hand?
Amen.
There's an overwhelming majorityin this building tonight that
recognizes the fact that we areliving in the end of time.
It is of such magnitude thateven the world as I've already
said I think last night maybe itwas that even the world for all
(16:12):
they do not know, theyrecognize that something is
going on.
Men's hearts are troubled andtsunamis and earthquakes, and
nations are being shaken, andsomebody told me that in this
recent earthquake that shookJapan, that the earth was
actually shaken on its axis andjarred Amen.
(16:36):
We see.
And again, I don't know how youfeel, but we read in Revelation
where there will be a horsemanthat will go out and one of
those will take peace from theearth.
Have you ever seen a day and anhour like we are in now where
there is such animosity andhatred, where men just
(17:00):
absolutely delight in killing, and not just killing but
grotesquely killing?
We never dreamed, did webrethren, that we would see
America in the condition thatAmerica is in tonight.
With all due respect to ourleadership, it is beyond the
(17:22):
hands of the president, it isbeyond the hands of the
president, it is beyond thehands of a democratic senate and
it is beyond the hands of arepublican house.
For there is a time at whichthe Bible tells us that God will
put it in the hearts of thekings of the earth to fulfill
(17:42):
his will, and I am glad tonight, and that amen.
Everything that's going on, notone thing has taken God by
surprise.
There is not a thing that'shappened today that has taken
God by surprise.
But he declares the end fromthe beginning and from ancient
(18:03):
times, the things that are yetto be.
Amen.
But if we are living in thelast time, as we all, at least
most believe we are, then werealize.
The apostle Paul wrote to us andsaid this know also that in the
last days, perilous times shallcome, amen.
(18:24):
That word perilous meansdangerous times.
Have you ever seen a moredangerous time in your life than
what we are living in today?
Have you ever seen a moredangerous time in the church
world than what we are seeingtoday?
(18:44):
Amen, my Lord, help me rightnow.
Amen.
The Bible warns us.
Amen.
In 1 Peter, peter warns us andsaid Be sober, be vigilant,
because your adversary, thedevil, as a roaring lion,
walketh about seeking whom hemay devour.
(19:08):
We know that the devil is on arampage, amen.
The writer in Revelation 12said rejoice all ye heavens,
amen.
But woe to the inhabitants ofthe earth, for the devil is cast
down, being filled with greatwrath because he knows that he
(19:30):
has but a short time.
Amen.
Let me tell you tonight, friend, if you've got enough sense to
know it's the last days.
The devil well knows.
Amen.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
I'm feeling the Holy
Ghost right now, amen.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
The devil knows that
his time is about over with Amen
, and so the devil knows if he'sgoing to get you or get you, or
get you, or get you.
He's got a little bit of timeleft to do it.
In my Lord, amen, I'm going totell you how I feel right now,
(20:09):
brother.
Gabbert, amen.
I feel not only the Holy Ghost, amen, but I feel the stirring
of the spirit of hell.
Amen.
But I want to go on recordtonight and I want the devil to
know that this is God's house, amen, amen.
This is God's house, amen, amen.
This is the house of God, amen.
If you're in for a fighttonight, devil amen, so are we.
(20:33):
But I'm believing that God isgoing to tear down the
strongholds of the wicked oneeven in this service tonight.
Amen, amen.
The devil is coming against thechurch.
(20:56):
We can look around and we canlook at the big churches, the
big ranks, but it's not onlythere now, but it's invading our
(21:19):
own ranks.
We want to point our finger andsay the Catholic church is
filled with nothing but a bunchof homos and pedophiles.
Amen, careful, now we'refinding more of them in our own
ranks.
Woo, help me right now.
Lord, woo, help me right now.
(21:41):
Lord, amen, amen, lord.
Some of you've been in this alot longer than I've been.
Did you ever, ever dream thatyou would see, amen, the
independent holiness church inthe condition that it is in
today?
Oh Lord, amen, stand by meright now.
(22:03):
Holy Ghost, amen, I'm tellingyou now.
Holy Ghost, amen, I'm tellingyou.
We're living in perilous times,it is a perilous hour and
there's a devil.
I'm going to tell you whoeveryou are tonight, if you're in
this building, the devil has gothis sights on you and it is his
desire to destroy you and thentake you to hell and the lake of
(22:25):
fire.
When it's over with, you may bea preacher, you may be a
preacher's wife, you may be alay member.
Amen.
I won't ask you a question.
You're seated here tonight andsay no preacher, amen.
What about all of the othersthat used to be here, that are
not here now?
That's the devil Amen, seemingly, that used to be here
(22:47):
that are not here now that thedevil amen seemingly grabbed
them right out of the very houseof God.
He would be content to emptythis platform of every preacher
that is up here.
Amen, ruin your life, wreck youand then take you to hell when
it's all said and done.
Amen.
All said and done.
Come on, amen.
And Peter warned us be sober,be vigilant, because your
(23:13):
adversary the devil.
But before we get too carriedaway with the devil that hates
you, why don't you go back tothat preceding verse In 1 Peter,
chapter 5, the verse beforethat, casting all your cares
(23:37):
upon him, for he cares for you?
Peter says before you getcarried away with how bad the
devil is, I want you to rememberthere's a Savior that cares
about you.
Tonight Before, peter is anapostle.
(24:05):
What is Peter?
He is a fisherman.
Do you not detect it?
In his writing, even in histerminology that he uses, he
does not say give your cares tothe Lord.
He does not say hand them.
But, being the fisherman thathe was, who many days had sailed
(24:28):
the sea of Galilee, had takenthat fishing net, amen reared
back and threw it and let it go.
And so it is.
Peter said hey, cast all yourcares, amen, grab a hold of them
and throw them out and let themgo.
I'd like to tell somebody heretonight there's a devil after
(24:49):
you, but I'd like to also tellyou there is a Lord that is
concerned about you right nowand if you just cast your care
on him.
He really does care about you.
So what somebody needs to dotonight, and let it go to do
(25:15):
tonight, and let it go.
Let me preach here just a minute.
This is not my text, but I feellike telling somebody.
The devil's lied to you andsaid God doesn't care, he's a
lying devil.
Yes, god does care.
I said God does care, mama, that your boy's back's red.
Yeah, daddy, god does care.
I said God does care, mama, that your boy's back slid.
(25:35):
Yeah, daddy, god does care thatyour girl's away from God.
He really does care.
And not a prayer you prayed buthe didn't see it.
I'm feeling the Holy Ghost onthis platform.
I'm feeling the Holy Ghost onthis platform.
(25:56):
I'm feeling the Holy Ghost.
He cares, he cares, hallelujah.
I said he cares for you.
You're sitting here tonight.
You've got problems at home.
You don't know what to do with.
You got physical ailments andyou don't know what to do with.
(26:20):
I want to tell you he cares.
Just as much as there's a devilthat hates you, there's a God
that loves you.
I said there's a God that lovesyou.
I said there's a God that lovesyou.
He'd like to help you tonightin this service.
(26:42):
We're in troublesome times.
We're in difficult times.
It almost seems like, somewhat, that when John, you remember
John the Revelator, don't you?
As he gets this revelation, this book of Revelation.
(27:03):
I want you to recognize andunderstand something.
It is estimated by men that arereal smart and that doesn't
include me, but it's the menthat know something that the
book of Revelation is writtenabout the year 95 AD, somewhere
around the year 95.
If our Lord was born in zeroand if our Lord was crucified
(27:26):
somewhere around 33 or 34 AD anddied bearing rose and ascended
back to heaven somewhere, thebook of Revelation was written
around 95 AD, and I want you toget this Sometime.
We miss the significance of themessage when we fail to
remember the condition of theman receiving the message.
(27:49):
Now, john is no spring chicken,he is not a young man.
When he was called to be adisciple of the Lord, he would
have probably, at the earliest, been in his 20s, maybe in his
30s.
So if that follows amen, thenthat means when John is on the
Isle of Patmos, he is probably80 to 90 years old.
(28:11):
You got that, didn't you?
I said he'd been on SocialSecurity for years.
Amen, john is 80 to 90 yearsold.
He is not in good health.
The annals of church historytell us that before he is
banished to Patmos he is throwninto a vat of boiling oil.
(28:31):
Amen, that did not kill him.
So he is banished to the Isleof Patmos.
Now we got a man that is 80 or90 years old.
He is in terrible physicalcondition Hair burnt off of his
body, probably open, festeringwounds.
But that did not keep him fromgetting in the spirit on the
(28:54):
Lord's day.
I want to tell you, the devilwill tell you you're old, amen,
to get in the spirit.
He's a lying to you.
I don't care if you're 100 plus, you can get in the spirit and
God can touch you and use you inthis hour.
Well, I don't feel very good.
(29:16):
Amen, you can still get in theSpirit and God can touch.
Amen.
Blessed.
I was last night to see ourelders.
I mean, I love to see ourelders, amen.
I love to see, love to see ourelders, amen.
I'd love to see Aunt Verna, amen.
(29:39):
Brother Gene's wife oh, youknow her hobbling around with
that drawn leg and that arm, amen.
And watch the Holy Ghost get onher and her get to shouting.
Oh, I'm telling you, don't youever let the devil tell you
you're too old, amen, and you'rein too poor condition.
He'll amaze you and everybodyelse what can happen when you
(30:01):
get in the spirit.
Hallelujah, amen.
John is in the spirit on theLord's day.
He, amen, is an old manprobably.
I don't know him Might havebeen even hobbling around with a
cane, hallelujah, amen.
But I heard him there.
As he said, I was in the spiriton the Lord's day.
He's hobbling with his canejust a few years and he'll be
(30:24):
dead and in the grave.
But all of a sudden he said Iheard a voice behind me, amen.
And when he turned around, amen.
It's been 60 plus years sincehe's seen him.
But he immediately said that'shim, amen, that's him, that's my
Lord.
I know him when I see him, amen.
I'd like to tell you tonightthat same Jesus is in this
(30:44):
building.
Amen.
That same Savior is in thisbuilding tonight, amen.
And he is here with the wordfor you.
I'm telling you God wants tohelp you tonight.
I said the Lord wants to helpyou.
Oh, I feel the Holy Ghost.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
God wants to help you
, come on.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
I wouldn't have been
a bit surprised if the cane went
this way and old John got theshot and the Lord probably had
to calm him down and said calmdown now.
I got to give you a message,hallelujah.
You know, one of the biggestlies the devil uses on elder
(31:35):
folks.
I've heard it more times thanone You're good for nothing.
You're good for nothing.
There's nothing for you to do.
I'm going to tell you right now, if you can get in the spirit,
there's plenty for you to do.
Don't you let the devil for oneminute.
Tell you, you may not be ableto jump and run like you used to
, but I'll tell you, I'll throwthat hand up and say glory to
(31:58):
God, amen, and let the worldknow that it's still wonderful
to be a child of God.
Amen, lord, I'm feeling youright now.
I'm telling you don't you letthe devil keep you down because
of your age or your situation.
I'm telling you he's the God ofthe young man.
He's the God of the young man.
He's the God of the middle-agedman, he's the God of the old
man, he's God of everybody,everybody.
(32:19):
And some of you boys, remind menext time.
I hope I didn't squinch thespirit, but I failed to hold it.
(32:43):
But you boys run.
I don't want to run so bad withyou and God help me before this
week's over with.
I'm going to do it.
Run with you, I'm trying to beconsiderate of the time.
(33:07):
Church.
I know where I'm going.
With the Lord's help, I want topreach to you, amen.
So John gets a message about abunch of different churches.
You can fit them intoeschatology however you want to.
I don't know Amen.
But he gets a messageconcerning the church at Sardis
(33:28):
Amen.
It kind of reminds me of thechurch world in general today.
It said Thou hast a name thatthou livest, but thou art dead.
Brother Reg was telling us lastnight.
He heard an article I guess itwas a radio commentary on the
BBC, the British BroadcastingCorporation, and they were
running this feature on theradio.
I guess it was at the radio, right.
(33:50):
And they said by all the signs, christianity is in decline and
in a few years it has all thecharacteristics of an
organization that will beextinct and will be a product of
history and that's all.
And I look around and I see allthe signs and all the trends in
this world today and it makesme wonder.
But right in the midst of thischurch that had a name, that
(34:13):
they were alive and were dead, there were still some that were
amen.
It looked like they were aboutgone.
Amen, the Bible said.
Jesus said and strengthen thethings that remain.
They are ready to die.
Amen.
They're almost there.
They're just about ready to die.
(34:34):
Amen.
But this is what I want topreach by the word of the Lord
Amen.
I want to preach this, brotherReg.
Amen.
God said strengthen the thingsthat remain.
Amen and are ready to die.
Amen, what the Lord saidstrengthen the things that
remain and are ready to die.
But they're not dead yet.
(34:56):
Amen, I feel, by the word of theLord to preach to you tonight
you're not dead yet.
I don't care what the devil hastold you.
Amen, you're not dead yet.
You hear me, I don't care howmany lies that the devil has run
through you, you're in a dryplace.
You ain't never gonna come out.
Amen.
(35:17):
You may as well quit and giveup.
Amen.
But by the word of the Lord, there's still some life, amen,
down deep inside of you that Godis able to bring back out again
and the Holy Ghost is able torevive and the Spirit of the
Lord is able oh, I feel heaventonight.
Amen.
To quicken you and cause you tolive again.
(35:38):
Amen.
It may look like it, but you'renot dead yet.
I said you're not dead yet,amen.
You're getting mighty close, but there's still enough life
there that God can bring you out.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
Amen, amen, amen,
amen, amen Amen.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
One of the biggest
things that the devil is using
in our churches today isdiscouragement, discouragement,
discouragement.
And the devil has lied and saidyou've been there so long
you're never going to come backup and back out again, amen,
(36:31):
hallelujah.
Not only that, he has pointedout to us, all of those who have
fallen away and said if hecouldn't live it, what makes you
think you can live it?
If she couldn't make it, amen, what makes you think you can
make it?
Don't you tell me it's not hadan effect on your church, amen,
(36:54):
amen.
I'm telling you the rash ofbackslidings that we have seen,
even in our own church, how it'spulled on others, amen.
I want to tell you oh, you hearme, you making it has nothing
to do with whether she made itor whether he makes it, amen.
The reason you can make it isbecause he did and he said amen,
(37:19):
because I live, ye shall live.
Also, I want to tell you you'renot going to die, amen.
There's still life there andthe Lord is going to bring you
up.
Hallelujah there and the Lord isgoing to bring you up, I dare
(37:48):
say, sitting in thiscongregation, somebody sitting
right here.
The devil's already told youyou're gone, you're gone.
Those buzzards that can see adying animal and just circle
(38:14):
waiting, can see a dying animaland just circle waiting.
I dare say there's somebody inhere tonight.
The devil's already picked outyour funeral song, already
ordered the flowers, but I feellike telling you you're not dead
(38:35):
yet.
God's going to bring you backup.
God's going to bring you backup.
I'm not even close to where.
I don't think where I'msupposed to be tonight, but I'm
trying to get there.
The devil's done told you youmay as well quit the church.
You may as well just go on downthe road to be tonight, but I'm
(38:55):
trying to get there.
The devil's done told you youmay as well quit the church.
You may as well just go on downthe road, find somewhere else,
hallelujah.
May as well just quit, quit, quit.
And what's the use?
What's the use?
Amen, god said.
Malachi, ye have said it's avain thing to serve God.
And what profit is it that wehave kept his commandments?
The devil said to you what goodis, is it?
(39:18):
It's not done you one bit ofgood?
Oh, yes, it has?
Oh, yes, it has.
But I want to tell you tonight,by the word of the Lord,
there's still a little bit oflife in you.
You know, I watched and I saw.
It really is not probably whatit was at one time.
There's a time you'd kick that, roll that, throw that, whatever
you did that hand up and shoutglory, hallelujah, amen.
(39:39):
And right now you're just kindof feeble to get it up.
Amen.
But that's still a sign thatthere's a little bit of life in
there.
Oh, I said there's a little bitof life in there, amen.
I want to tell you I'm the onlyone that has the power to come
to the corpse or the body of onethat's ready to die and bring
them back again and cause themto live, and live in the name of
(40:02):
the Lord, amen.
We were sitting around the tablelast night and Brother Ed said
I almost interrupted yourmessage.
He was going to preach, tellingabout them buzzards, but he
said I looked up and I said butI'm not dead yet.
I feel like telling somebody Idon't care where you're at, you
ought to raise your hand, looktoward heaven and say thank God,
(40:23):
I'm not dead yet.
Amen.
You say.
But you don't understandpreacher.
Yes, I do my friend Amen.
But I want to ask you what areyou doing in church tonight,
amen, why?
Speaker 3 (40:33):
did you raise your
hand a little while?
Speaker 1 (40:35):
ago.
Why did you eke out ahallelujah?
Speaker 3 (40:38):
I'm telling you
there's a little bit of life in
there.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
And the Lord would
like to bring you back up.
I said God would like to bringyou back up and let you live
again.
In the name of the Lord, ohhallelujah, oh Lord, oh
hallelujah, woo Woo.
(41:06):
It's off-heel to tell somebodyyou're not going to die, you're
going to live, you're going tolive, you're going to live.
For he said, strengthen thethings that remain.
And that word strengthen meansto turn, to turn and focus.
(41:28):
It's one of the meanings.
And the Lord said what I wantyou to do to that dying bunch is
I want you to do to that dyingbunch is I want you to turn them
and get their attention andfocus back on me.
I'm telling you it's hard tolook down and it's hard to be
down when you're looking upseeing him.
I said it's hard to be downwhen you're looking up seeing
(41:51):
him.
You know what I'd love to seesomebody tonight, amen.
Somebody that could say oh Lord, amen.
Everything is against me, butyou're still wonderful.
Amen.
Lord, my children's lost andout, but God, I'm glad I'm saved
.
Lord, I ain't got no moneyPardon my English, but I'm from
Carolina.
Amen.
I ain't got no money in thebank, but I got a God in heaven,
(42:13):
amen.
The writer said get your eyesback on Jesus and see that he is
able, amen, to turn thingsaround.
I just feel to tell somebodytonight you're not gonna die,
you're gonna live, hallelujah.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
God bought a prophet.
Speaker 1 (42:36):
Being a preacher and
being a pastor.
I'm in and out of the hospitala lot.
You understand that, brotherGabbert and I've gotten a lot of
times at least five days a weekin the hospital and I've gotten
well acquainted with some ofthe staff there.
(42:58):
They know me.
I've got acquainted with somedoctors.
Some have been very kind andvery respectful to me and some
have kind of looked at me likeget out of the way, you moron,
what do you think you're doinghere?
But I've even a time or two,you know, I've even kind of
(43:18):
wondered sometime thought itmight be kind of nice to be a
doctor.
How are you feeling today?
That'd be $150.
Yes, sir, what's wrong with you?
That'd be another $150.
You feeling all right?
You're not feeling good today.
That'd be $200.
And you know, I mean, you seeme like big.
(43:39):
Yeah, you don't look like youfeel good at all.
Let's put you down for 500.
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
That's how it is.
Sometimes that's how it is, andthere's even a time or two I've
been mistaken for a doctor.
I've been on the elevator andthere's one time a lady said
(44:05):
excuse me, sir, are you a doctor?
I said no, ma'am, I'm apreacher.
Oh, okay, there's another time.
I was in the ER and I waswalking down the aisle and
there's this black man, elderlyblack gentleman, and I spoke to
him.
I always speak to people in thehospital and it absolutely just
blows their mind.
Have you ever smiled atsomebody and said a kind word?
(44:26):
It almost they don't know howto respond.
I mean, people are so used tobeing grumpy and grouchy to when
you say how are you doing today, it's like, oh, what's wrong
with you?
And so I spoke to this blackgentleman, elderly black
gentleman.
I said how are you doing today, sir, and how are you?
He said I was doing fine.
He said is you the doctor?
(44:46):
I said no, sir, I'm holdingthis picture.
Why thanks the Lord?
Why thanks?
Well, thanks to Lord, amen.
So that having been said, Idon't know a lot about the
medical perfection, I guess youknow I could.
I don't know anyway, but Idon't know a lot.
But amen, I do know enough toknow that, when I have been in
(45:08):
the hospital and there's some ofyou here tonight that are the
nurses, and you understand whatI'm fixing to say to you Amen, I
have noticed that there's thislittle device that the doctors
carry with them and the nursescarry with them, and from time
to time they'll pull it out.
Amen, they'll pull it out andthey'll wear it wrapped around
(45:36):
their neck like this.
It's called a stethoscope.
It can listen to what's insideof you and hear what's going on
inside of you, amen.
It can tell whether your heartinside of you and hear what's
going on inside of you.
(45:56):
It can tell whether your heartis beating properly.
It can tell if you've gotocclusions in your arteries in
your neck.
It can indicate that you've gotfluid.
I've got a friend that was inmedical school.
He said there was a man who hadcirrhosis of the liver.
(46:18):
He said we put the scope on him, amen, and we jiggled his
waistline and it was likegallons of water, whoosh, whoosh
, whoosh, whoosh.
Take that stethoscope.
(46:45):
God bless you.
God bless you.
And while I was praying today, Ifelt the Holy Ghost come on me
and I felt the stethoscope ofheaven.
(47:05):
Let me listen in on some of youand what I heard disturbed me.
I listened to Brother Gabbardand I heard somebody amen,
(47:29):
that's about to die, and if theydon't get help quick, they're
gone.
They're gone, they're gone.
Stand by me right now, lord, they're gone, they're gone.
Stand by me right now, lord, Isaid.
I heard, I heard.
(47:52):
I heard somebody in thisbuilding.
I heard inside of you, amen, but a faint little heartbeat.
And God said if that girldoesn't get help and get it
quick, she's gone.
If that boy doesn't get helpquick, he's gone.
(48:18):
Would you, if I was in a blackchurch, I'd say church, get help
quick, he's gone.
Would you?
If I was in a black church, I'dsay church, would you moan with
me right now?
Would you moan with me rightnow?
Amen, I'm looking at you, younglady, and I hear you talking to
me right now.
You say wait a minute, preacher, you don't understand.
(48:41):
John Gabbard is my pastor.
Yeah, and he's a mighty goodone, one of the best.
I hear you, boy, you're sayinghey, preacher, you don't know.
Come here, sister Ann.
Amen, sister Ann Gabbard is mypastor's wife.
Come here, amen, yes, she is,and she's a good one.
And pastor's wife.
Come here, amen, yes, she is,and she's a good one and she's
(49:03):
one of the best.
Amen, not only that, I hear yousaying to me, sir, but I go to
bond holding this church.
Yes, you do, and it's a goodone and one of the best.
But you listen to this preacher.
Not a one of those things keptthose other backsliders from
going out.
(49:23):
Amen, not a good pastor, not agood pastor's wife, not even a
good church kept them from goingout.
And there's only one thingthat's going to keep you amen
from going out of these doorsand that is that you get in
touch with the God of heaven andyou get in touch with him.
(49:46):
Amen tonight.
Oh Lord, help me right now, ohamen, amen, lord, help me right
now, oh, amen.
Do you understand?
You can sit right in the houseof God, amen, and straight line
(50:10):
and die and backslide right in aholiness church If I get out of
order or the gabbard sit medown.
(50:33):
I only know the burden of myheart.
Who are you, young lady?
Even as I preach, the life isslipping out of your experience.
(50:56):
Who are you, sir that, even asa preacher, the life is slipping
out of your experience?
Amen, pray, church, pray, praychurch, pray, pray church.
(51:26):
God, if you've ever stood by me, Stand by me.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
Oh God, I have
ordained the time.
My divine providence hasbrought all things together that
you might hear, you mightbelieve, you might turn, you
might live.
Why will you die?
(53:35):
You have said there is no hope, there is no help.
I have sent you my word tonightand I have assured you by my
Holy Ghost that there is yetblood in thy veins that pumps
through all thy arteries, warmsyour heart, heart while that
(54:01):
faint beating is there.
If you will come to me, castingall upon me, if you will turn
with all of your heart, I willlift you out, yea, snatching you
out of the very flames of hell, and restore you to that place
in my body.
(54:22):
You'll be ready again for mycoming, for I am the Lord.
Speaker 1 (54:29):
I desire that God's
prayers look unto the heavens
and say I am the Lord.
Would you raise your hand andworship God?
Would you ask God to touchsomebody's heart?
If you will bear with me one ortwo more minutes, second church
(54:56):
as the Holy Ghost moves amongstus.
Brother Gabbard, have you everwalked in a hospital room with
the machines?
Today, you walk in, themachines are saying beep, beep,
(55:18):
beep, but tomorrow, when youwalk in, it's dead, quiet and
everything is straight lined andthey're dead.
And I said who?
In that interval between thegiving of the message and the
interpretation, the silencereminded me ever so of the
(55:44):
machines going dead and straightlining when the bodies give out
the life.
Help me right now, god, help meright now, lord, help me right
now, lord.
Church, I wept, I wept, I wept,brother Gabbard, I wept today.
(56:05):

unto me and ye shall live andnot die.
(58:22):
