Il tasso di abbandono scolastico in Italia è del 12,7%. Inoltre, la percentuale di NEET nel nostro Paese (ossia dei 15-29enni che non studiano e non lavorano), raggiunge il 23,1% (con una media UE del 13,1%). Sono molti i fattori di rischio che possono portare un giovane studente ad abbandonare il proprio percorso scolastico prima del tempo: la dimensione psicologica e soggettiva, ma anche la situazione socioeconomica del contesto familiare e territoriale, oltre che fattori legati alla scuola, come la carenza di spazi e servizi educativi.
