Recovery is a marathon, not a sprint.
There will be good days, and there will be bad days. There will be times when you feel like you're making progress, and there will be times when you feel like you're sliding backwards.
It's important to remember that setbacks are a normal part of the process. They don't mean that you've failed, or that you're not capable of achieving sobriety. They simply mean that you're human.
It’s normal to backslide
It’s normal to want more
Be patient with yourself, It will get better.
The key is to be patient with yourself, to treat yourself with kindness and understanding, and to keep moving forward, one step at a time.
Don't get discouraged by setbacks. Learn from your mistakes, forgive yourself, and keep going.
The most important thing is to never give up on yourself.
You are stronger than you think. You are more resilient than you realize. And you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to.
So let's solidify this intention with these affirmations...

I am patient... with myself.

I understand that recovery... is a process... not an event.
I will have good days... and bad days.
And I trust... that I will get through them all.

I treat myself... with kindness... and understanding.
I forgive myself... for my mistakes... and I learn from them.
I am gentle... with myself.

I celebrate my progress... no matter how small.
I am proud of how far I have come.
