160 years ago today, February 12th, 1865, Major General D. H. Hill, in Augusta,

made final preparations for sending Cheatham's command into South Carolina; a
refitting remained. To Cheatham, Hill wrote, "I have ordered Alfred Iverson to
send up his enfields by two o'clock train. If you have an ordinance officer here
