In this episode, I share the concept that it’s not better over there than it is right here. What does that mean? When we’re focused on achieving our goals and we think that once we achieve them, our life will be better, we may be in for a surprise. Things will be different, not necessarily better. Life will still be 50/50 - yes, certain things may be “better” and other problems may arise that haven’t been there before achieving the goal. When we familiarize ourselves with this concept, we can find out that being right here, right now is just as important as getting “over there” is. When we can do this, we stay present in our lives with what is, rather than trying to escape what is because it’s not the “ideal version” we have in our minds. It doesn't get better than this!   “Being aware of the present moment simply means you never believe the illusion that the future is going to be better than what is going on right now.” - Mateo Tabatabai, The Mind-Made Prison   “If you can’t learn to be happy now, with the life you’ve got, what makes you think you’ll understand how to be happy with the life you think you want?” - Hal Elrod, The Miracle Morning
