Speaker 1 (00:17):
Welcome back to good Mom's Bad Choices. I'm Erica and
I'm Nila.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
And it's motherfucking Wednesday in the jungle beach.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
What's up, beaches? Do you hear the birds.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Chirping?

Speaker 1 (00:31):
We're back in the jungle and it feels so good.
I feel home, like I'm at home.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Can we just take a moment of silence to possibly?
I mean, we do have some nice micros. Yeah, I
don't know who's gonna pick it, might not pick up
the chirps, but just humor me. Give me like ten
seconds of silence ready. We all need a we need
a clearing If you're watching YouTube right now anyway, I
think we all just need to take a breath together.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Let's too bad.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
I think we always need to do that. I think
so too. How are you? I'm wonderful? What's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I'm in a beautiful home in Costa Rica. My titties
are out, I'm not wearing a bra, my skin is clear,
my stomach doesn't hurt from toxic as American food.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Amen. Life is good.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I made seventeen twenty new friends in the past five days.
Learned so much from all of them. Sitting with my
best friend recording a podcast and the jungle or Tribe
husband just showed up. It's mother fucking birthday in a
few days. I mean, what life is. Life is fucking great.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Life is great. I really can't complain. Every time I
get stressed about some shit, I'm like, bitch, bitchhut the
fuck up, bitch, you stressed about the wrong shit. And
I'm so grateful. I mean, just waking up here, I'm
constantly pinching myself, like, what the fuck is this my life?
Did I make twenty new friends in Costa Rica? Do

(02:21):
they all listen to me and come here? Every time
I get a new group, I'm like, you bitches must
really trust us because it's a long journey to paradise
and they become open and ready and happy. And this
is also our one year Good Vibe Retreat anniversary. My love,
I know, I know.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
And for those of you who are like, what the
fuck are we talking about, maybe you just chopped in
right now here the first time. Hi, welcome. We're talking
about our retreat in Costa Rica. We lead retreats in
Costa Rica. This is our fifth retreat since last year,
and we just wrapped it up today, like literally hours ago.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Girls left this morning, and yes, if you haven't heard,
go follow the Good Vibe Retreat on Instagram. Go check
us out, go look at the website, because we're doing
some magical shit in the jungle. We are.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
I mean, it's it's almost like we don't have to
do much like the jungle kind of does it for
us in ways. Like and that's what I realized even
in this retreat because we had more support, and I
was like, wow, even with the support we have, like
the girls get exactly what they need. I mean, we've
created like a I mean, obviously there's like a foundation

(03:36):
and a manual that we follow, but literally, because everybody
comes open and with the same intention. Women with intention
is some powerful motherfucking shit as student as we make
our mind up about some shit, like the universe conspires
in your favor. So like we always tell our people,
like once.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
You get here, hold on tight, bitch, because mother Nature's
gonna take it away like open hearts, releasing, manifesting, laughing hard,
crying hard, like you literally for real. I know we've
said this like fifty times, but you really leave with
twenty new friends. It's impossible for you not to connect
with each person, Like everybody comes just so just so

(04:16):
open and ready to like connect and love on each
other and nurture each other and be nurtured. And it's
so beautiful. This was a really beautiful group. It was
like really was It was like a perfect one year anniversary.
I mean, every group is bomb. Honestly, we all have
like we always have good vibe tribes. We always get
exactly what we need.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
And this is exactly I think what we needed for
this this fifth group, and in celebration of this one
year baby that we've created. And you know, as you
said intent, like talking about intention, I started to think about,
you know, what today's affirmation could be. And I think
it should be I lead with intention and I claim

(04:56):
my power.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
I lead with tension, and I claim my power. It
should be like, I lead with intention and I claim
my motherfucking power. I claim my mother fucking power.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Because I think something that came up a lot in
this week's retreat was women really realizing that they already
have the power within them. There's a liberally a lot
of powerful women that came on this retreat that are
already deepen within their journey of like really claiming their
power and really understanding how important intention is in the

(05:31):
process of claiming it. And I think about like Ricky,
and I think about Christina, and I think about just
all all these women that are really their big personalities,
and even at home they've.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Questioned like is am I too much? Is this too much?

Speaker 2 (05:47):
They've been in different type of positions, different type of jobs,
and coming here is like a reclaiming of that and
a deep understanding of like yes, yes, yes, yes I can,
I will and I and I'm going to you know.
And so it was really beautiful to watch people really
step into their power and trust themselves.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I know it's true. It's like and even you know
what I realized too, as women like I'm just thinking
of like Shatara and you know how she was having
a hard time being nurtured and like accepting just the
nurturing and always like when you're so conditioned to be
giving and giving and you're giving to your kids and
you're giving to this person, you're giving to that person,
you given to work, like you forget that a part

(06:27):
of our superpower is to give to ourselves and to
accept when people are nurturing us, Like it's so hard,
and I think society has conditioned women and mothers so
much to feel like they have to be everything to everybody,
but we oftentimes forget that we also have to be
for ourselves, and we also have to be provided for,
and we also deserve friendships and relationships that provide for

(06:48):
us and nurture us, and like that it has to
flow equally or else you'll be depleted. And I just
I'm really proud that we've created like an environment where
every just willing to give to each other and so
there's no shortage of love, there's no shortage of nurturing,
there's no shortage of like the jungle. If it is
like not example of enough that there's abundance of everything,

(07:13):
it reminds like we have so much love to give
and receive. And I was thinking that, like I just realized,
like letting down your guard is really like you can't
you're unable to get to know someone, You can't you
can't even get to know yourself unless you're willing to
be vulnerable, and that includes being loved on, you know,
And sometimes we build our walls up so high because

(07:35):
I mean, life be life, and people fuck you up
and get you fucked up and then you put up
walls and you can't trust people. You don't fuck with
bitches because bitches be doing this and like all these
other things. But like our true essence is when we
like when we can be vulnerable, when we can let
down our guard, Like that's where the power comes in.
Where we can cry, or we can when we can
stop worrying about like if this bitch is gonna judge

(07:56):
me because I'm screaming or because I'm crying, But like
that's where the real like you know, like getting to
know yourself comes in, because how do you even know
yourself if you don't even know what yourself looks like
when you're surrounded with love and support Because I see
that every time, Like women have a hard time accepting it,
you know, like it's so hard to be like these
bitches just want to nurture us, or like everybody's so nice,

(08:16):
there has to be something to it, but no, you
know what I mean. But no, like we just love
each other and like we're everyone who comes is really
seeking connection and freely seeking like self, And I think
I don't know, we've created some pretty powerful, harmonious, magical
shit in this jungle over here.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
We have, and we had our first mom and daughter come,
which I thought was really really special, and uh it
was so it was so cool to watch their dynamic
and how they take care of each other in ways,
and how the dynamic flips at times, and and also
just how free mama was.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Saucy shared in Saucy shared it is free as fun,
free as fuck, and and I will be at that
Christmas party Saucy shirt. Don't you forget our invite? Yeah,
you know what someone said on the trip, Ricky was like,
I'm working through, you know, some things with my mom.
And I was like, me too, and she was like,
but it comes up all the time, like even right now,

(09:16):
you know, like there's a mom and daughter here and
I hadn't realized that like even having that energy is
in ways healing, you know, even if you're going through
shit with your mom, because I'd be going through sit
with my mom and like it's back and forth and
it's a struggle sometimes, but like being in the presence
of a mom and daughter who have decided to be
vulnerable together and say fuck it, we're going to do

(09:38):
this like deep ass, I mean, you know, deep experience together.
Like even when I was in our ceremony, got close
to Sheridan, like, you know, day two, I was like,
I should let my mom come to the retreat, she
asked me, and I was like, m welcome back to you.
But like seeing them like that experience, it made me like, Okay,

(10:00):
I can do that, you know. And it's crazy because
I know we talk about this, like we provide a
lot of like softness and vulnerability to people that were
meeting for the first time on this trip, but sometimes
it's hard to give that to like the people close
to us, our friends we've known Hella long, our moms,
our grandmother's like that same grace. So like being in
this environment does like fill my cup to remind me

(10:23):
that like we're all just women, We're all just human,
you know, we're all just like going through shit. And
it allows me to go home and like renew that
compassion for like the people that you know sometimes get
on your nerves because you know them a long time. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
No, I mean definitely a lot of the women were
mirrors to me. For me and like really having to
like look at myself, and that's what I love about
these retreats. It's like a retreat leader is such a
funny word because it implies that like you, I don't know,
like are leading the group because you know more, And
it's so not the case. I find whenever we, you know,

(10:59):
get to meet these different groups, is that not only
does the jungle, not only does our story, not only
does you know the things that we facilitate for them
have messages for each and every one of them, but
they also have messages for me. You know, I was
sitting there speaking with Emily about, you know, our children,
and she has a ten year old son and you know,

(11:21):
their journey. She was talking about their journey, and I
was just telling her about mine with my daughter and
just some of the insecurities I have as a parent,
and and just hearing her story like gave me peace,
gave me, I guess, some sort of I don't know,
like some sort of solace and understanding that it's going
to be okay, and that like every mother goes through

(11:43):
this and every child is different. And then even seeing
Sheridan and Robin's relationship and how close they are, they
came close, like they.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Came here close like the besties.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
They are besties and she shares everything with her mom,
And I was like, damn, imagine like that level of
transparency with your parent, like and being feeling safe to
do that, Like that's really inspiring to me.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
I know. Yeah, So please God, let Lena and May
be best friends forever, Like I please invite me on
a retreat. Please let me go to your twenty first
birthday in Vegas. Please let me go. That was the
most epic story. They're gonna invite us, right, I feel
like they will. I feel like I read Leonard for
sure are going to include us in their twenty first

(12:27):
birthday plane Like our moms are coming. Don't worry, They're cool.
I won my tube top. Girl, Hey, your else, I
want my tube top.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
She's like, mom, please just keep the y. My god,
my mom got new tits and you can't keep them in.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
David, can you bleep this out? Like I don't know
if David knows how to censor our titties out yet.
Oh my god, I know. It's really this has been
a profound journey with you, my friend. We are approaching
our fifth year in podcasting. It sounds fucking crazy. It

(13:06):
actually feels longer. It does.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
It feels longer.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
It feels like five long. Fucking I mean it.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Is five years, but almost. I don't know, It's like
five is not that long.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Actually, this is episode two hundred and fifty two. You
know how many hours that two hundred and fifty six.
Oh my god, that's a lot of hours, bitch. We
probably like five hundred hours of talking. We should have
some kind of like we should be like, you know,
if I did six hundred hours at esthetition school for
my license. I am master in podcasting. I'm masters in podcasting.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
I just decided I'm a master in talking podcasting, talking audio,
all things audio, all things.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
I'm an oral tradition leader. No, you don't like that.
It seems ancient, it seems vintage. I am an oil tradition.
I'm a leader of the oil tradition. I passed out
oral dialect of English. Hello, I am Mila the oil tradition.
Pass it down, pass her down, fables and stories of

(14:05):
trueness for me. In my tribe, they call me. You
guys were in Costa Rica. Everybody renames themselves. Don't worry.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Everything is translated in i G reels.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
If you don't understand my language, go to ww dot
Instagram dot. Mila the Tribe of Oil tradition. It's true,
it's true.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Anything I'm not laughing because anything can go on an
Instagram profile or LinkedIn at this point.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
So I need to redefine. That's what I need to
do tonight. I need I need change.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
I feel like now that we've really stepped into this space,
we need we need a better titles. We really need
to stop shaming the ones that have the like the
doulas of everything on their.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Yeah, I'm a podcast a doula. Think like that. I'm
a mushroom doula, mushroom doula podcasting doula. Woman might be
just a regular dude. I'm in doula. That's good. I
am a human dola. I hope you be more human.
I'm an energy I'm an energetic oral tradition expert, and

(15:12):
I lead retreats. But for real, No, but for real.
I think sometimes for real though, I when people ask
me what I do, I always like, like, I'm a podcaster,
and then I laugh and they're like what I'm like.
I know that that sounds stupid, but it's true. I
am a podcaster. But I get kind of embarrassed because
it seems like like I'm an Instagram model. That's what

(15:35):
it feels like me. I'm an influencer and bookings at
gmail dot com. So I never feel like I never
felt confident about saying it because there's like four hundred
million podcasts. But I just want to take this moment
to say no, for real, I'm a motherfucking podcaster, and
so are you your expert, your oral tradition expert. Just
even if you don't want to take on that title. No,

(15:56):
I'm taking it on. Okay, don't don't try to take
away from you. We can make it up. I think
that sounds pretty damn good. I don't know, Okay, but
it's going to take a moment to celebrate us because
us got us here and we have something special to
share with each other in the world today we do.

(16:17):
I feel like so nervous. Which thing are we sharing first?

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (16:22):
I was thinking about the thing behind me. Okay, okay,
let's do that. You wanna share something? No, okay, I'm nervous.
I know my hands are sweating.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
So you guys, you know that we've talked about writing
a book for like the past two years, and it
has been an amazing journey and it's so insane that
we're here, actually in Costa Rica when we finally are
about to do what we're about to do, because we
actually came to Costa Rica to write this book. And
you might have heard the story, but we came to

(16:51):
Costa Rica to write this book, but really we came
to Costa Rica because we needed a motherfucking break and
we needed an excuse, and the book was the excuse.
And actually we can and we didn't write any book.
We don't write a single shit. Maybe I read a
lot of journal entries that was that was good. We
made progress there so that I could write the book.
But we came and something amazing happened, and we tapped

(17:13):
into this community here and we met this amazing woman
that well few amazing women actually that helped just spiral
us into this accidental retreat treat business. And we couldn't
have written the book without doing these retreats first. And
I had no idea that we were going to do
retreats when we came to Costa Rica. I had no

(17:34):
clue that that's where this was going to lead me.
And it was like God Spirit said, no, bitch, if
you don't stop pointing at that, it's seeing that animals.
But every time I see it freaks me out.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
You know. It's like a big hamster rat with a
big booty. There's these weird hamster rats in our back.
Looks like it has a BBL it does. It's like
a BBL hamster. It's a BBL hamster. You should look
it up anyway. Sorry, sorry, go ahead. We couldn't have
done that.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
We couldn't have completed this book without experiencing these retreats
and meeting all these women and really being in the
field essentially, like being in the field with all these
different types of women from all the different walks of life,
so that we could receive the message and the commonality,
like the true commonality that connects all of us.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
And I think that we really nailed it in this book.
I am at a loss for words because we came
here with a mission. The series of events that let
us write here to right now is very interesting but
also divine and also in like I never have to
question what we're doing and if it will work, because bitch,
it's pretty clear, because God has literally just been like

(18:44):
here you go, here you go, here you go, and
we did. We came here to write a book. Which
is already a huge jail that someone was like giving
us a book deal. And then we didn't come write
a book, but we did discover that we need to
have a retreat. And then we made a retreat, and
now here we are one year later, after five retreats.
We'll have our next week, and now we actually have
our tangible book that we didn't write here, but we

(19:05):
did write because we got here. We read a little
bit of it here. Are you ready to retreats? But
ready to look at it? You guys, this is our
first time seeing our book cover. My hands were sweating.
And we've gone through two long years of cultivating and
conjuring up this bait love child called A Good Mom's
Guide to Making Bad Choices, and it's finally here and

(19:27):
I'm going to go get it. Here we go reporting live.
It's the unboxing of my life. Are you ready? Are
you okay? Okay? You ready?

Speaker 2 (19:48):
Oh it's so cute.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Oh my god, it's real, bitch, Oh my goodness. We're
fucking authors. You're not just a podcaster. You are official.
I think that's the word we're looking for. We're not
an oral tradition leader. It's an author. I'm also written.
I'm a written tradition, oral tradition leader. Yes, we've done

(20:15):
We've dabbled in all the traditions. Oh my fucking god, Mama,
I'm it.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
First, i'd like to thank the Academy.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
I don't think the Academy does literature.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
But I'd also like to thank God. Without you, none
of this would have been possible. Oh my goodness, it's
so cute.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
I'm good at that. And look at that, right, and
look at that. I just want to say, we designed
this ourselves, just like we designed basically every part of
our business because we're designers.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
We styled ourselves. We designed the book cover basically. And wow,
it's real.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
It's real. It's real.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
I can't believe it. I think we should just put
it here. Finally we have our own book. Finally have
our own book to put on our on our set.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Look at that. That's crazy, Oh my god. And it's
so cute. I feel like if I was in the bookstore,
I would be like, who are these bitches? I want
to be their friend.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Oh my god, it's the coffee table dream book of
my dream. I know this is it's cute enough to
be on coffee table.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
This is. I think we're saying that because we think
we're cute. We are cute. What the fuck? Yeah, we're Oprah.
We're gonna be on all of our own shit just
like Oprah. Bitch. Wow, this is my This is like
my childhood dream. Come to tangibilads. Should we read the Bag? Okay?

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Okay? A Good Mom's Guide to making Bad Choices? Warning,
this is not your typical mommy. How to gud? I
know the fuck it ain't. In the pages that follow,
you will hear both of our voices and the stories
that led us to being good moms who embrace their
bad choices. What defines a good mom? What defines a
bad choice? A mom who goes to every PTA meeting

(22:02):
but pops a pill in the car ride home. A
mom who smokes weed but show shows up ready to
play barbiees like a motherfucking pro. A working mom whose
career is flourishing, but who sometimes struggles to find balance
with her children. This book is for all these women,
because the moment we stop judging one another is the
moment we stop judging ourselves and can begin making better choices.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Written by Jamila Mapp and Erica Dickerson. That's us, Orlando. Shoot,
everybody gets your role on. Everybody gets your mother fucking
roll on what everybody gets the roll on everybody. Everybody
gets your role on Congratulations fucking relations. You're that bitch.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
You are the bitch, that bitch, the one, the only
Jamila Asada map y'all.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
And I just want to be clear that we wrote
a book the same year we started a new business
that hit six figures the first time ever in our businesses.
And yeah, that's in twelve months. So tell me other
bitch that wrote a book and started a business in
the same year. I'm sure there's a lot, but I'm
just at us to the list, Okay, at us there.

(23:12):
Wherever that list is, we're on it.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Forbes first forty Listen, we didn't make thirty under thirty.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
But thirty five under. There has to be a list somewhere.
I've been I'm gonna write it.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Well, look, if they do have a thirty six hunder,
I will be on that one.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
You're still thirty five, you have time, Okay, you're right.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Wow, Wow, I'm glad that we got we finally get
to We've been talking about this for so long.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
I'm like, do people think we're lying. For sure, they
think we're lying. These bitches are lying. I know, motherfucking book.
But actually it's available right now on pre sale, So
you can get this book wherever. Get you get your books.
I know books are a thing of the past, but no, no,
not anymore. We're bringing books back, baby, We're bringing books back. Oh,

(24:01):
motherfuckers don't know how to act? Who reading this is
so cool and it doesn't hurt your back. No, you
can buy on Amazon, but that shit is whack Bones

(31:03):

I'm just really excited.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
I am also very excited. This has been a magical
twelve months, five years, and I really am looking forward
to like the magic that Mexico brings because our retreats
are so fucking special. And speaking of magic, you know
what time it is my love trot, Timely Jungle. I

(31:33):
picked a three of Swords and I think I picked
it up reversed, So going to our lovely baby. The
Three of Swords Reversed encourages you to pay attention to
your inner thoughts and self talk. Your words are powerful,
especially those you repeat to yourself day after day. You
may be prone to self criticism, limiting beliefs, and negative

(31:54):
self talk. You may identify with an inner mean girl
or boy who is constantly telling you why you're not
good enough. When you hear these negative thoughts come up.
Ask yourself whether you would ever utter these words to
a friend or loved one. And if the answer is hell, no, okay, bitty,
then why are you speaking these words to yourself? Look
at how you can shift your thoughts towards the positive

(32:17):
to reinforce your confidence you have what it takes to
be the person you deserve to be. You may also
be hyper sensitive to other to other's words, and need
to develop a thick skin. Oh my god, are they
talking to me? Fuck you? Okay, I am very I
can see you shaking your head. You chill, I am
very tough, very tough, skin thick, so thick, and that

(32:37):
thing it's to me let go of the hurt and
these words are that the hurt that these words are
causing you. It would only hold you back and do
some self reflection. What has triggered your feelings and why
and how might you address the underlying issues. This seems
very accurate. I think that we all have a lot
of inner self negative self chatter, even me, Like we've

(32:59):
come so far, we're doing a lot of big shit.
I mean, you know, and like on paper it's like
check check check, And I'm still like am I supposed
to be here, like I feel like an imposters sometimes,
but no, I'm that bitch, So you should remember that
you're that bitch too, or that king. I don't know
who's listening.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
I'm just exclusive, whatever the fuck you want to be
that makes you feel big and great powerful.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Remember our last episode, we're like talking really like powerfully
to each other. We need to keep that up because
you are such a bad bitch with nice titties. And
that shirt is flowing. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Oh my god, your skin is fucking popping, and I
just love your beautiful smile.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Your laugh is infectious. It sounds like a jungle princess.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
You are a jungle princess. You don't look like one.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Well anyway, guys, I don't say something nice to somebody you.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
Love or yourself. We're gonna bring this to a close
because we're losing light. It's getting dark, and we gotta

got a book. Oh okay, So I'm like, we're popping bubbles,
popping something, popping bottles, popping ass, I don't know, I'm
