Speaker 1 (00:31):
Come on, let's lift up the name of Jesus Christ.
There is none other in heaven or on earth. Welcome
to another episode of Hope in Christ with Denise here
on Kingdom Influencers Broadcast, where we place our hope in
the only hope there is Christ, our Lord.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome, Welcome back to Hoping Christ with Denise here.
I'm Kingdom Influences Broadcast. I am your host, Minister Denise,
and I welcome you all back to today's show. We
have another awesome, awesome, awesome woman of faith who is
going to be sharing about her faith, faith business today,
(01:24):
discovering purpose through serving others. And before we get started,
I am going to open us up with a word
of prayer. Father, we thank your God again for this opportunity.
We thank you, Lord, God for the purpose you placed
inside of us. Lord, we thank you for your guest today.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
God.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
We pray o, God, that you would use her mightily
to speak to those in countries all around the world. God,
we just thank you that women, men, boys and girls
would discover their purpose and begin to move in the
gifts and talents that you have given them. Give you, Lord,
We'll give you honor and we'll give you praise in
(02:02):
Jesus' name a man and man and a manner. And
so again, thank you all for tuning in to Hope
in Christ with Denise. Remember at Hope in Christ, we
are healthy, we are overcomers, we have purpose from Christ Jesus,
and we maintain an eternal perspective as we keep our
focus on Him. So, without further ado, I'm going to
(02:25):
ask my guest, doctor Angib, one of my friends that
I just love, love, love, to introduce herself and tell
us more about her.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Well, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, whatever time's on
you in Sister Denise, thank you so much for this opportunity.
I appreciate you, dear.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Thank you, thank you for joining us. So can you
tell us a little bit about you? Tell the audience
a little bit about you and what you are sure.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
I was born, I'm raised in Detroit, Michigan. Now I
reside in Jacksonville, Florida. So I like to say all
parts in between is where I will go to serve
the Lord with gladness. I'm a recent graduate of Deeper
Bible College, where I earned my master's and my doctorate
(03:19):
degrees in ministry Family and marriage relationships, and so I'm
honored to be able to speak on those topics, to
be able to teach on those topics, and to continue
to learn because school is never out for the pro
Iron has to continue to sharpen Iron. I am an
(03:45):
international Amazon best selling author and I'm grateful for the
opportunities that allow me to write what the Lord has
given me. And I am and just honored to serve
the Lord. I own an agency which is Angib Productions.
(04:09):
Through my agency, I help teach young voiceover actors so
they can produce commercials and narrate audiobooks. We create flyers,
and we have special events that will allow people to
come to an event and feel the love of the
(04:30):
Lord without feeling like they have to go to church,
because there are still some people that are not interested
in going to church. But they may come to a
fashion show or a book signing or Beauty Bizarre or
something like what we produce. And so September is Alopecia
(04:51):
Awareness Month. I am an Alopecian and we have our
annual event in September. September is also Death Awareness Month
and Sickle Cell Awareness Month, and so we always try
to do something to recognize what others may be going
(05:14):
through so that we can love on them instead. Love
on them absolutely. So I'm excited to be the owner
of JB Productions, thrilled to be an author, and I
just love what he allows me to do. And there's
so much more. But we'll be here all day if
(05:34):
I keep chatting. So thank you again.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Thank you, thank you, thank you. And so we're gonna
jump right into the questions about discovering our purpose through
servant others. And that's what we're gonna be talking about today.
And the first question is can you share a little
about your journey into entrepreneurship and how your faith influenced
that path.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
I know that I've been a serial entrepreneur for about
thirty four thirty five years, But in the early two thousands,
I was asked to do a radio shift on an
online radio station. So a shift is like Monday through
Friday four to eight pm or weekends two to six.
(06:28):
You know, a shift is multiple hours regularly, and I
really had no problem accepting the request. But I was
really really enjoying holy hip hop, Christian and gospel rap music.
(06:49):
So I asked a well, no, I told the radio
station owner. I said, I can do the shift as
long as I can play this format of music. And
he said to me, if you can get the music,
you can have the show. And that's really how my
faith influenced the radio show, the history, and even up
(07:12):
till now. I'm on the air now from six to
eight am weekdays and we have a podcast on Saturdays
at eleven. And I believe that my faith led to
that journey into entrepreneurism because I really don't think I
(07:36):
would have been as expressive with my faith if I
was not asked. And so the radio show continues, and
it is early in the morning, but it encourages me
so much each and every day. So in addition to
the books and the events and the fundraisers and the speaking,
(08:01):
I love to offer prayer and scripture and music on
our shows.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Amen. Amen, a man, thank you for sharing about the
beginning of your journey. And so the next question is
what does purpose mean to you as a Christian entrepreneur.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
As a Christian entrepreneur, the word purpose, I think also
is synonymous with integrity. I don't want people to complain
because I'm a Christian entrepreneur. I want them to always
(08:49):
see the love of the Lord through our services and products,
and I want them to feel welcomed and loved when
they work with us. And so that's my purpose. That's
my purpose to be here for people that love the
(09:12):
Lord and may not necessarily know how to express themselves,
but to be able to give them an opportunity to
be expressive through music or lyrics or or anything that
the Lord has given. And I'm grateful for that. I
(09:35):
am grateful.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Aany man. Amen, Amen. I think it's very important, Like
I said, just moving in what God has told you
to do. The next question is how do you see
serving others as central to run a faith based business?
So how is serving others like the central focus of
(10:00):
your faith based faith based business?
Speaker 3 (10:05):
Well, I'm able to serve others by providing services, affordable services,
so if I see that. For example, I believe every
author should offer their book as an audiobook. And this
is why I've met so many people who are either
(10:28):
dyslexic or English is not their first language, so their
comprehension maybe a bit off. People that are visually impaired.
I definitely believe that working with authors to present their
books as audio is very important and definitely important to
(10:56):
a faith based business. I feel like if the Bible
is translated in so many hundreds of languages, then our
books that we have labored to bring forth should also
be available to those that have ears to hear. We've
got to let them hear. And so I think that's
(11:19):
central to running my faith based business, to be able
to work with those to bring what's inside of them
out in a variety of ways. And I hope that
resonates with someone because you've got to have a purpose
(11:39):
to running your faith based business, and that is my
purpose to be sure that the Word as it is
delivered to authors and entrepreneurs through commercial production, to be
sure that it still illuminates someone's path to Christ.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Hey Man. And as an educator, I see that often recently,
I've just been certified in dyslexia and I learned a
lot about that. And so it's so important that different
areas of being able to people being able to get
(12:23):
the content that's right for them. So, yes, that's the
very good point, right right. And then my next question
is was there a defining moment when you realize your
business was more than for profit? It is it is ministry.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
I think my defining moment when I realized it was
more than business, that it truly was a ministry was
when I was deep in prayer over the radio show.
It had already garnered listeners and Australia and Africa and
(13:07):
the UK, and I knew that I was taking God's
word to the world, but locally, I wanted to be
able to do more. And so the Holy Spirit said
it's time to take the show on the road. And
(13:29):
I didn't know anything about concert promotion or touring, but
I contacted some of the artists whose music I played
on the show and asked them if they wanted to
give it a try, and they were so excited, I mean,
grown men, just thrilled to be able to go out.
(13:54):
And so we toured for years throughout Florida and Georgia,
Ohio in Michigan, and that's when I realized that the
radio show was more than something that was for profit.
It was truly a ministry. And seeing the young men
(14:20):
who brought the concerts to the masses, just watching them
minister to youth and young adults, and watching those audience
members give their lives to Christ, it just it just
was probably the most incredible experience of my life most incredible.
(14:44):
I remember specifically a six year old coming up to
me and telling me that they never understood the songs
that they sang in church, but they could understand the
Christian rappers and it made them very excited that that
(15:11):
God would create something just for them. And yeah, it
warms my heart just thinking about it. It's definitely was
a ministry.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Love it, Love it, love it because a lot of
times I've heard people saying, you know, like with Christian
rap and things like that, and the old school usually
doesn't agree with it. But then, like you said, a
young person they can relate, they can connect, they can understand,
and you know they can the beat can grab them,
(15:47):
and then the words grab them right that they can
come and draw closer to hearing those words, and and
that's important for them.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Right, you're right, You're right, it is important.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
And then the next question is how do you balance
the demands of business.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Girl, I take a nap. I take a good nap.
I'm believe in self care and so I eat regularly.
I take my vitamins and my prescription medication on time.
I take time to maybe just sit with the remote
(16:32):
control in my hand, and watch TV. I have to
take care of myself. And I understand that the demands
of business can make us workaholics, and I definitely am that.
But I love being able to train an intern and
(16:56):
not have to look over their shoulder or micro manage them.
I love to be able to work with an excited
author that's hearing their audiobook for the first time. I
love all of that. But I wake up at the
same time every day, whether I'm on the air or not,
(17:18):
and I go to bed at the same time every day.
Now I may stay up, you know, a little bit
longer on a Friday. But I think personal care, self care,
mental health care is all I have to especially when
(17:38):
you run a business. Especially.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
That is so true. I'm the same way, and I
always tell people no, It's a complete sentence. So sometimes
people will ask me to do things that doesn't align
with what you know, what God gave me to do,
or going to kind of overrastand me and I'm no,
right right. Self care is so important. You have to
(18:05):
risk you have. You cannot pour from an empty cup.
You can't help anybody when you're depleted. So it is right,
It's so true.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Mm hmmm mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
And then my next question is what challenges have you
faced overall as a faith based business and how did
you overcome them.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
I think a faith based business has the same types
of challenges that any type of business have had, and
that's a lack of revenue. And you know, years ago
I would talk to people and they say, Oh, I
(18:55):
can't wait to quit my job so I can do
ministry full time. And my response was always, well, who's gonna,
you know, pay for the ministry. I mean, sometimes we
still have to keep the job to be able to
support the ministry. And similarly, we have to keep our
(19:18):
nine to five while we're growing our business until the
business can support itself and your family. And so I
tell people, yes, we want to be business owners, we
(19:39):
want to have the faith that we can be. But
it's my understanding that Jesus chose the disciples because they
each had something to contribute to his ministry, and there
was a tax collector that kept track of the money.
(20:00):
There were people who would negotiate venues and places for
them to rest. And I truly think faith based businesses
faith without works is dead, and so we still need
to work at our business and we still need to
(20:20):
work at our nine to five. And that's how I
was able to truly overcome challenges because I did not
rely on the ministry to pay me. It paid for itself.
(20:41):
And I think that's my best piece of advice for somebody.
Don't be so quick to give up the paycheck that
may be able to help somebody else.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
Absolutely, I agree, because I mean I'm the same way
I my Uh, there are many times that I wanted
to retire early from education, but there my husband and
I have I call it solen. We've sold a lot
into the business and the ministry, and so you do
(21:19):
need money to to you know, just do whatever God
has given to you, because we have to get it done.
And so what He's given us, we do have to
get it done, and so we sometimes you do have
to continue working. And I appreciate I look at my
(21:43):
my career a lot differently since God had called me
to start a business and and do the ministry of podcasting,
because all of it costs, and so you might be
able to to pay for those things, and so right
totally agree that you can't. Just that a lot of
(22:03):
people have that vision where they want to just I
want to work in the business and not do anything else.
But sometimes you do have to wait until it can
and can stand on its own. Absolutely, absolutely, I totally agree.
And then we have a couple more questions. This question
(22:26):
is how would you encourage other Christian entrepreneurs who may
feel stuck or unsure about their God given purpose?
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Pray without ceasing. That's the best encouragement I can offer
Christian entrepreneurs, Christians that want to become entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs that
want to become Christians any any way you slice it.
We still need to pray without ceasing because God answers prayers.
(23:00):
And if you're feeling stuck or unsure about your purpose,
just know that God gave us unique gifts and talents.
I could not imagine myself going into the classroom where
you are, Denise, but I want to encourage you that
(23:22):
you're exactly where you need to be. That's your God
given purpose. And I just think if you're stuck or
unsure about your purpose, you need to continue to pray.
And when my children were little, I would say, just
(23:42):
close your eyes and think about something. Think about where
you want to go or what you want to do.
And the first thing that pops into your mind is
an answer from God. Now that might be a little
juvenile for some adults, but it's the same. It's the
same process. Pray without ceasing, and God will definitely answer
(24:06):
your prayer.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Hey man, a man, a man. So the next question
is looking ahead, how do you hope your business continues
to impact lives and porant people to Christ.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
M Well, even though I'm no longer on tour with
the Christian Rappers, I do travel with my books and
the Beauty Bizarre fashion show that illuminates alopecia awareness. I
do speaking engagements and I was just recently in Costa
(24:45):
Rica to teach authors the importance of offering an audiobook.
So I believe ahead. I pray that my business continues
to impact lives and point people to Christ. Just because
I want Christ to be illuminated through me. I want
(25:09):
to be smaller so He can be larger. I want
to share my testimonies to let people know that you
do go through the ups and downs of life, but
if you just lay still and know that He is God,
he will hold you, he will carry you, and you
(25:29):
will definitely definitely be all right. And I hope my
business and my ministry continues to impact lives. I pray
that it does.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
Amen. Amen, thank you, thank you, thank you for joining us.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Hey man, thank you, thank you, thank you. And I
usually pray us out, but the pot spirit is saying,
let you pray us out. So do you mind praying
us out?
Speaker 3 (28:12):
Oh no, I don't mind, I don't mind. Listen. If
you are in a room and there's someone else with you,
just just grab their hand, because the scripture tells us
where two or more are gathered than He will be
in the midst. So, Father God, we come to you
(28:33):
right now just to thank you. Lord. We thank you
for waking us up this morning. Some people did not
have that blessing, and so we thank you for waking
