So I lift her up, put her back in the car,
get it myself next to her, and I start the
car up.

I remember the stream much mistreaming, deep enough for a
thin girl the lion, and that's where I go. It
don't take long get back to the stream, the bridge over,
which is where I stop. Over here around only the

darkness and the water flowing underneath Wherean is going to
lie before I let her go s. I dig out
my tools and tire, iron wrenches, the jack, heavy stuff,
tie 'em to her so she'll lie quiet under the water,
and I get done. Shoot heavy now, but heavy and
chair was before. But I lift the room, the rail

of oh no for a second in my arms.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
Then I litter it all.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
Drops quickly, not off aloud, into the water, drops to
the bottom of the stream where maybe maybe it'll be
soft and cool for her. And I gotta get away
from the hair faster back.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Every time the wheel turns around, every time the valves
open and closed, every time the sparks fire, getting further away.
This time, she isn't gonna follow me this time, she's.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Deep under the water with irons.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Tied or her head bashed there. Never turn around again
and find her sitting next to me. I never hear
her calling Johnny again. I never see her eyes or
a thin body again. While I was the pressing down
town no more moon, thunders purring closer like a big cat.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
I don't care. I'm through here forever now. I'm so
happy I could sing, huh well, no, this guy throw
the light turning off on on like God, neon sign.

The thunder's pounding in my head. I go to get it, curtain,
take it at sixty, planding there, look for the light
and it's gash down to the floor. The motor's roaring
like a hundred horses screaming.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
We're pulling up the hill with it, with the rain
slanting against the window plane like a million fingers tapping
on my brain, the top of the hill swept by
the window, red dress plastered against their bodies.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
I can't take it much more.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Of the car sliding down the wet road like beth
On Butter. And she's there all the time now, running
with a car face plastered against the closed window next
to my seat.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Johnny and you're dead, am I, Johnny, You're dead. I
killed you, don't you remember, Oh.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Johnny, back there, I hit you, I dropped you the water.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
