(00:13):
Happy Saturday, normalizers. I amso happy to be with you here today,
and today is National ice Cream forBreakfast Day. Some of y'all might
have seen it on our social mediapages, and I had the pleasure this
morning of heading out with my roommateand her boyfriend to grab some ice cream

(00:34):
from Jenny's at like nine am becausethey opened early, and I had some
tasty breakfast flavors from them, includingbanana French toast, coffee ice cream with
sugar and cream, and Oohy gueybuttercake, and it was phenomenal. So
if you did not get in onthat ice cream for breakfast today, I
definitely recommend you go out and treatyourself with something today because I definitely had

(00:59):
a lot of fun with that andI will use any excuse to eat ice
cream. For those of you thatare just joining us. Episode one,
The Weight We Carry, was releasedabout a week and a half ago now,
and we're almost to sixty downloads,So thank you to everybody who's listening.
And that's why I wanted to releasetoday's episode, because I got some

(01:21):
really great feedback that I wanted toshare with everybody and kind of give a
sneak peek at what's to come.Firstly, I did get feedback that the
volume in episode one was really softand y'all had to turn it up real
loud to hear it, and thenyour ears would be blown out if there
was a commercial, and you probablyjust heard the cat, you know,

(01:42):
land on the floor like he's atiger. Anyway, continuing, so I
definitely heard you guys when you saidthat, and I'll make sure going forward
that our episode volume is a littlebit more balanced, and I definitely have
a friend who knows just the rightthing to fix that. The other thing
is I had some data nerds reachout and they were asking about the data

(02:02):
in regards to the bariatric surgery, which if you listened to episode run,
Cass talked about that she knew somebodywho died of post bariatric surgery. When
we were talking about the risks ofweight loss medications or weight loss surgeries,
because that's a very popular thing rightnow, and in relation to the bariatric

(02:24):
surgery, I did find an articlein the National Library of Medicine. I'll
post the link in the episode details. It's a thirty day mortality after bariatric
assessment, and I found it veryinteresting because out of the six and eighteen
patients that underwent primary bariatric surgery, eighteen deaths occurred, which is zero point

(02:50):
three percent, which is still quitelow, but it was quite a bit
higher than I anticipated, So Ifound it interesting looking at these statistics.
The primary cause of death out ofthose eighteen folks were thirty three percent of
the deaths, or one third ofthem, was due to sepsis, which

(03:12):
is bacteria infection in the blood, followed by cardiac issues at twenty eight percent,
and then a pulmonary embolism which isa blood caught in the lungs at
seventeen percent. So I think thoseare risks that could happen probably with most
surgeries, but I did find itinteresting that those complications occurred, you know,

(03:36):
specifically with these bariatric surgery deaths. So I wanted to share a little
bit nerdy statistics with you all sincesome of you were asking, and definitely
want to fact checks to ourselves. So if you ever hear us say something
inaccurate, feel free to reach outto us and we will more than be
happy to correct ourselves. So,speaking of reaching out, we want I

(04:00):
need to give everybody some ways toreach out to us, because I love
getting feedback and I love hearing everybody'sideas for future content. So the easiest
way that probably everybody has access tois email, and we have an email
it's It's Sensitive at outlook dot com. It's I T S S E N

(04:23):
S I T I V E outlookdot com, so it's sensitive with a
plural s on the it. Andwe also have a Facebook page It's Sensitive.
It's just called it's Sensitive, butyou'll see our podcast logo, and
then we also have Instagram, whichis its underscore Sensitive Underscore podcast. We're

(04:45):
also on Twitter at It's Sensitive.I know I'm old school calling Twitter Twitter
and not x and we're on threadsas well, So come check us out
on one of our social media platforms. Feel free to reach out, provide
feedback ideas for future content. Iam going to be the first person to
say that I am not perfect, and I am more than willing to hear

(05:06):
everybody's thoughts and opinions. Doesn't meanthat I'll always, you know, implement
everything, but I love hearing howeverybody's feeling about the podcast and what we're
putting out there. So today's episodelike I said, is many. In
short, we're at write a roundfive minutes, but I definitely wanted to
check in with everybody. And Iam super excited about what we have coming

(05:28):
up in the next couple episodes,so I haven't recorded them yet, but
we have the speakers lined up.Episode two, if I'm counting this as
one point five, is going tobe about addiction and we're going to kind
of stay with that theme on mentalhealth. So I have a gentleman coming
in that I'm really close to andit's going to get real and raw,

(05:49):
real fast. So definitely tune intothat one and it will be very insightful
and real. It's the best Ican say for that. And then we're
also pooling in some uh more women'shealth topics, especially in regards to pelvic

(06:10):
health, and that applies to bothmen and women, but I will have
a primary focus on women, andI have some very exciting guests lined up
that might be a multi part episode. So I can't wait to get this
new content out to you guys.So again, head us up at It's
sent It's sensitive at outlook dot comor on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter,

(06:39):
and I will talk to you allsoon I hope you all have a
happy Saturday. Go get your icecream.
