(00:00):
Welcome back to yet another edition, once again of the Kane County Props Basketball
(00:03):
Podcast. We are knee deep inplayoff coverage here, Josh, especially on
the girls side. We're getting therefor for the guys, but a lot
of high profile matchups still the camp. But how are you doing so far?
Doing good? You know, avery exciting week of basketball, really
exciting week of a lot of differentsports. You were in Champagne over the
(00:25):
weekend for state wrestling. Um,of course we had state gymnastics going on
as well sectional swimming. I waspool side there on Saturday. It's a
little warm and it was a littlelittle little warm and human there that and
that that pool there on on Saturday. But a lot of great stuff and
exciting stuff going on. Um.You know you mentioned girls basketball or is
(00:48):
in the heat of the playoffs alreadyand and we should probably start there.
Um, Geneva, We'll start withthem, and uh, no surprise really,
um that they were able to getthrough regional week Uh, pretty easily.
That they won going away against Batavia. They won their twelfth straight regional
title, which is wow, that'sthat's pretty impressive. I mean that speak
(01:08):
a lot. I know they've wonit definitely does. I know they've won
a couple of state titles and stufflike that. But you know, she
doesn't take uh, she doesn't takeit for grantedge you know, she's done
such a great job taking over forGina Nolan Uh who as the coach.
Uh and Sarah came in and justas really had it rolling. So so
(01:30):
they move on and they beat Bataviaagain pretty handily. And it's kind of
similar to what I hear a lotof times when those teams play, is
Geneva's pressure defense just gets after youand and they get in transition and in
a big win for them, sothey roll on. They have tremendous athletes.
I mean, I think it justshows an athleticism on the court.
Kate Palmer at point guard. Yougot Katie Mountgunnery who you know as a
(01:53):
goalie and soccer and you know thatyou know, just some of those skills
are pretty evident, you know asGrace Hinchman um Libero Uh. You know
obviously Lindsay as well. So greatathletes. Yeah, Geneva hummed right along.
I saw them against uh glen BardNorth in that regional semifinal. Um.
Yeah, they they they just didvery very well. Um, you
(02:14):
know, in the case of Batavia, obviously you know I didn't get to
watch that game. Um, youknow, they're coming off of a pretty
they were coming off of a prettyemotional, nice win against Willowbrook, and
you know over time, you know, to get there. Um, you
know, I I would probably bewe messed without just acknowledging Aaron Goldman and
just the career that she had,um going at mckenry State next year or
(02:35):
whatever, but um tremendous senior umfor them. Just they probably didn't have
enough shooting, you know, tokeep up with it with a team like
you Neiva. I know, youknow, Testa Towers is great in the
middle of Claire on the outside forthrees, but you know, beyond that
in some cases offensively, you know, if you gotta find other sources to
Yeah, Aaron Golden a fantastic career. I mean, I'm just kind of
pulling up an email I got fromKevin Jensen that he did probably as well
(02:59):
yes um end of the season withtwelve one thousand, two hundred twenty eight
career point points, top five atBatavia two hundred eighty eight assists. You
know, behind only Eliza Frown andBethy Orman seven hundred thirty four career rebounds
as a guard behind all Hannah phrases. So just just a great career and
just a great well rounded player, not only a scorer, but assists and
(03:22):
rebound and she just does everything. So hats off to Aaron. Really enjoyed
watching her play over the years anda really great career. But but Geneva
rolls on and they roll right intoSectionals. Another game on Thursday night that
you had to see Saint Charles Northand York. I thought it was going
to be a close game. Ithought maybe Saint Charles North could pull off
(03:44):
the upset. Didn't. Wasn't ableto quite get it done. York is
a really good team and a seniordominant team. They want a relatively close
game. Yeah you know, forthat one, my stomach growling, so
sorry for everybody on the recording,But um, you know, that was
a game it was winnable for forSaint Charles Nor. They just needed an
offensive spark and they couldn't get it. Um. York was a tremendous rebounding
(04:05):
team that I don't know if theytypically are every single night, but they
certainly did it on Thursday, andthat proved to be a big difference down
the stretch, especially with North notable to hit their shots. UM,
and they were able to to uhyou know handle you know, a pretty
potent scorer like Lonnie you know, relatively in check. I think she only
had like thirteen points off the offthe cuff, but not um. But
(04:29):
it was it was a pretty coolthing for York. You know though a
little bit of history. I thinkit was the first regional since the two
thousand and nine season, not theeight um, you know, but uh,
you know, hats off to Northfor a great season. Um.
You know, they were on thedoorstep of a regional final or you know,
title thing for the first time sincelike two thousand and eight or two
thousand and seven for them. UM. So we talked a lot about it,
you know, that group a lotin previous weeks too. So UM,
(04:53):
nothing to hanger hat on that one. Yeah, No, In York
is A is A is a seniordominant team. Sarah christ and your their
point guard. She's a really goodplayers under the engine that makes them go.
And they came close last year.I think they lost in the regional
final. Um came close last yearand they've maybe kind of building building towards
this they don't. They have somea lot of injuries last year that they
(05:15):
were able to overcome and they're healthynow and they've they've really had a great
year. I think they started likenine or ten and oh early in the
year they won the West Suburban SilverConference or division in that conference. So
uh. Um, certainly no shamefor Saint Charles North to lose to York.
York is a really good team thatis going to be tough to beat
this week. Um Burlington Central.Uh they got over the hump. Uh
(05:38):
this this past week. They hadlost in the regional final the last couple
of years. They get it done. When the first regional championship since twenty
sixteen. I believe Cat Schmidt,Um, you know, good game for
her. Atlanta wells As always hadanother big game with twenty two points,
so so they kind of rolled bySaint Francis and uh so, great achievement
for that group. Yeah yeah,I mean they're playing great while we which
(06:00):
we talk about him every single week. It's it's it's a really likable team
just and from watching them play, like they just know how to play they
they're really in sync. Um,the job that Colin does as head coach.
You know, I'm kind of steppingin, you know because the name
is escaping me right now. Butum, you know this is really yeah
smart. You know, this ishis first year, you know, stepping
in since he retired and that wasum, you know, um, he
(06:21):
was there for a really long time. So uh to you know, to
step right in with the pretty seniorgroup and it's it's hardly a lot of
the late junior Yeah, you know, I mean she plays like a senior
axe composes herself like a seniorself.Um. Really looking forward to seeing what
Burlington does this week, especially inthe postseason. Um, and anytime you
get to see Catchment play, it'sa treat, no doubt about it.
(06:42):
Burlington And I guess we'll go rightinto to this week and in girls basketball,
Burnington now moves on to Hampshire. They're gonna play Sycamore tomorrow night in
the first game. Tuesday night,we're taking us on Monday. They're playing
Sycamore in the first game of adoubleheader on Tuesday night at Hampshire. The
second game is Montini at Rockford Boylan. I'm gonna be covering that second game,
but I'm gonna be there for bothgames. And Jake, I told
you about a month ago. I'mreally looking forward to seeing burrowd In Central
(07:05):
play because I haven't had a chance. And I'll be there tomorrow night,
you know, weather permitting with asnow and everything. But really looking forward
to seeing that game. Burlington Central. Obviously, they have the kind of
dynamic duo with Catch Schmidt and alint of Wells and a lot of great
players around them. Um, Sycamorehas a fantastic player in their own right
(07:26):
in Kylie Fearbak. It's going toIowa State, and they have some good
players around her. I mean, face Fierbacher's sister is a really good player,
a good shooter. Um, theyhave a six foot four freshman whose
name escapes me, but six fourfreshman actually doesn't escape. I mean,
that's a lot of size for afreshman. But so it should be a
(07:46):
good game, and I'm a gamethat I'm really looking forward to. I
think that one's maybe a toss up. I think that one could go either
way. But a Fearbak is justI mean everything kind of revolves around her.
If if Burlington sent can slow herdown and limit her, then I
think Brunton Center has an excellent chanceto win that game, because, um
when when fearbuck has been limited, then Sycamore struggles a little bit more.
(08:09):
I know when they played Geneva,Geneva really got him pretty good when they
played her older this year, umso, and Burlington played a really close
game against Geneva. So that kindof tells me Burlington has a good chance
to win that game. But certainlygame that I could see going either way.
Obviously, Montini is sort of theelephant in the room in that in
(08:33):
that sectional, the rank second inthe state. Um they were in four
A last year, they dropped downto three A, and I know last
week somebody texts me, wow,it's just totally unfair that Montini's in three
A. Now, well, that'sjust the way the mass I mean,
I had to say, is acertain math that if you reach a certain
point, you know, reach acertain point and you move up or you
(08:56):
move down, and they and theymoved down this year, which is unfortunate
for three A, but it's justthere. There was a realistic thing of
the situation. So, um butmy team's gonna obviously be tough to beat.
The wea they have. They're avery talented team they have, they're
young. They start three or maybefour sophomores. UM. Taylor Charles has
(09:16):
offers from a lot of schools.I mean Michigan offer when she was in
eighth grade. Let's put it thatway. Tatiana Thomas is a really good
rebounder for a sophomore. Sophie Sullivanis a very good shooter, and then
they just kind of foul around them. Taras Storton as a junior, that's
that's really good. UM, SydneyProchaska as a senior, it's going to
(09:37):
Southern Illinois. UM. So alot of talent there. UM. And
the thing about them is they're justa very tough team to score against.
I mean people probably look at themthink, wow, all that talent,
they must score so many points, and they can. But where their bread
is buttered is they just they don'tlet team score. I mean, to
score thirty or thirty five points.Again, it can be is it feat
(10:00):
and could be difficult to do.So now that being said, they can
be kind of off and on withthey're shooting. I mean, they shoot
a lot of threes. Jason Nichols. He's the time of coach that he
doesn't mind if you shoot. Hedoesn't like him when you don't shoot.
I mean, he wants you tonot be and step into it. But
you know, they have had nightswhere they struggle to shoot the ball.
(10:20):
But they play such great defense, and they're so talented and they're so deep.
They're gonna be tough to beat thisweek. I mean, I give
Burlington Center or Sycamore, you know, kind of that fighter's chance because they're
both talented teams. I don't reallyknow anything about Rock for Boiling, to
be honest with you, but Mantini'scertainly the tina be there. But but
it's a sectional and looking forward tobeing a Geneva, they're going to see
(10:43):
a very familiar team tonight as wetape us on Monday. They're gonna be
playing Wheat and North, a teamthat they played it was either maybe it
was two years and they go inthe playoffs. They played in the sectional
and they beat them. Obviously they'renow conference rivals, and I know there's
that oh it's tough to be theteam three times type thing, but Geneva
beat him pretty good at both timesthey beat him by thirteen and then by
(11:05):
like twenty seven or twenty eight orsomething like that. So, um,
Wheat North is is a good team. Claire Hyde is a really good sophomore
guard, and they play good defense. But Geneva they're the team to be
tonight. There's no doubt. IfI'm not mistaken, I saw Wheat and
North against Batavia. This goes backprobably January. The thing is like everybody
asks, like, where where areyou going this week? Yeah, the
doll metals together after a while, but yeah, no they Claire Hyde for
(11:28):
sure. Um, I know thenthat was a game too where in the
fourth quarter they got some big threesagainst Batavia. So um, you know,
you never want to pencil anybody out. Um, you know, but
Geneva's pretty well equipped to handle, you know, a team like that with
their athletes their shootings. Yeah, you know, I experience no doubt.
And if and Wheat North is notthe biggest team in the world, so
(11:50):
I had to think Lindsay Blackmore isgonna have a big advantage in that game.
And and uh and like I said, I Wheat North is a is
a really good team, and Daveis a great guy and a great coach,
so I give him a chance. But Jennie was definitely the favorite at
game. Um the second game Wow, Lake Park and York. Wow.
I'm looking forward to seeing what comesout of there. Uh, Lake Park
(12:11):
boy, we've talked about this youngwady a lot and deserving it. So
uh Darian Rodgers h from from LakePark going to De Paul. She's over
two thousand points in three years. Then York they just have a lot of
good players. I mean, yousaw him last week that they don't have
a star. Now they have alot of they have a lot of depth,
and they're they're really experience. Soum, I'm not really sure,
(12:35):
you know, do you have anythoughts on that You've seen both of them
now, Um, I don't reallyfeel I mean, honestly not to say
that. You know, Lake basicallyand runs, Sir Darian right, if
they're I mean, she's she's gonnaget the shot more times than not.
So, um, you know,at the end of the scoreboard, you
know, usually she has thirty pointsand everybody else kind of has like six
or seven, So obviously she's gonnabe the focal point. Um. And
(12:56):
you know, Geneva's Um, I'minterested to see if if you are does
this. Geneva did a really goodjob with trapping her and that pressure defense,
especially in that second half of theof the of the game right before
you know that that conference one.So if York chooses to kind of take
that blueprint a little bit, thatcould force others to stop up and whatnot,
(13:16):
and well, and we'll see whathappens. But Dari, I mean,
she's pretty unguardable along the three pointline. Um, she she's got
that signature step back three. Butshe's been doing probably her entire life,
and that's awesome. So yeah,I mean, and we'll say, we'll
point out those two teams actually didplay in January, January twenty fourth.
Yeah, York beat them pretty good, m fifty seven to thirty four.
(13:37):
And I remember when I saw thatscore at the time, thinking wow,
I did not expect that game tobe that one sided. And I don't
expect a night's game to be thatone set. To me, I've we've
both seen both of those teams, and I don't think that that's a twenty
three point spread between those I wouldn'tsay, you know, I wouldn't say
play. You know. York andGeneva they played earlier this year at the
Montini Tournament and that was a gamethat went down to the y Obviously,
(14:01):
Geneva Lake Park has had two reallygood games this year, so um,
not to take anything away from WheatonNorth, but I could see any one
of those maybe three teams coming outthis week out of that sectional well to
see how it shakes down. Yeah, it should be a lot of fun.
I'm hungry to see it, asis my stomach. I'm sorry again
for just all like the noises overhere. It's just like a commedy that
(14:24):
being sited real quickly. Suburban life, Kendall area stuff. Yeah. Yeah,
Before we move over to the guysside, Oswego got a their second
straight regional title on on last Thursday, and they will be playing Bennett tonight.
I'll be there. That's the rematchof last year supersectional. Bennett beat
him pretty good last year and asupersectional they did play earlier this year.
(14:46):
They played in late January. Itmight have been that same weekend as at
York Lake Park game and as wealmost beat him. It was a one
point game with a minute left, and it was at Bennett and Bennett ended
up winning by four. That'd besaid, boy, Bennett. Did they
just have so much talent, youknow, up and down, They're so
deep, And I think the questionfor me with Oswego is can they make
(15:07):
shots because they need to? Andcan Janelle Rodgers stay out of foul trouble
because I've seen Oswego a lot thisyear and she gets into foul trouble a
lot. When she doesn't get intofoul trouble, she is she can be
a dominant player. I mean,she's six foot, she's a Division one
high jumper. I think with alittle bit more kind of training, she
(15:28):
could be a Division one basketbayer becauseshe's so athletic and she's so long.
She means, she had eighteen pointsin twelve rebounds against Niquel last week and
just dominated that game. So they'regonna need a big game out of her
and make shots, and then they'reprobably gonna need Bennett to maybe not be
at Bennett's best in that game.So so that's the game that that's going
(15:48):
on tonight. And then another gametonight is Nazareth against Downers Grove North Nazareth,
Boy, they hadn't I don't knowif did you see the results,
Just really exciting game that they hadagainst Lions in a regional final. UM.
The game went to went to overtime. UH Nazarus senior guard Kay when
(16:10):
Evans is going to Loyola, shefouls out and then her replacement Mari Marissa,
I think it is Melissa heads up, She's a sophomore, basically had
not played the whole game, orat least played sparingly. She hits the
game winning shot, buzzer beater,a sophomore, a three point at the
end, and the video. Wow, that video went viral. I think
there was like ten thousand views ofthat video. It was kind of it
(16:32):
was kind of crazy, but justa really exciting moment for Nazareth. They
played down as girls North tonight.UM. So that's what's going on on
the girls side, very exciting andthe guy's side, you know, we
kind of switch over. Saint CharlesNorth at least got his share of the
Duke King Conference title with a winover Batavia UM last week. I think
they got wheatened South on Wednesday totighten that up UM, and then they
(16:56):
got that at on Friday, UM, which will be which will be a
nice way to to end the regularseason for them. Um, real quick,
any thoughts on just North third,Yeah, you know their marching towards
playoffs. Yeah, the boy. They they had a huge game last Friday
from Connor. Winky had twenty twopoints and eighteen rebounds. Um and there
win and now they play Wheat andSouth on Wednesday. Wheat and South and
(17:17):
get off mistaken is the only teamthat's beating them And he came hand on
them that lost. It was likesix and ol confidence and needless to say,
I think the North Stars are couldbe kind of ready for that one
after losing to Wheat and North.Connor was out for that one. I
think he was sick. He was, you know, so I mean,
you know, well that's right.I think he did play. We've talked
about this before where like obviously, like you know, he's not their sole
(17:38):
star of you know, all thatteam is great. But they got you
know, Luke, they got Christian. I mean they you want them to
play absolutely FO nine going to Bradley. I mean it's yeah, anything for
Wheat and South more than they do. And they'll have him this week and
you know, we'll see what happens. Uh Saint Charles East. Um,
(17:59):
of course they lost previous Friday SaintCharles North and across town. Um,
they bounced back. They gotta winover Wheaton North on Friday, then they
went again on Saturday. So obviouslythey bounced back and they're gonna be a
team to watch this weekend. Thenonto the playoffs. Yeah, and as
we talked about, UM, youknow we started at King County Preaps newsletter
real quickly, just a sidebar, you know. UM, it's an email
(18:19):
sign up, it's free, it'sgonna be in your inbox every single Monday.
Exclusive content that I mostly right UMfeatures Q and a uh look ahead
the playoffs and do power rankings allthat stuff. I talked about this um
in the power rankings side. Butyou know that could be a pretty interesting
regional um for them. You knowbetween between Saint Charles, they're at Saint
(18:44):
Charles Z, so they can getthrough that semi. Uh, they could
see each other I think in thatregional final. Yep, so that's gonna
be at that's gonna be at Elginstarting next week. Uh, Saint Charles
North will play the winner at SouthElgin Elgin Saint Charles East will play Streamwood
and in the semifinal and then thatthey both get through. Then Friday,
March sixth at Elgin will be athird meeting this year. And I know
somebody asked me it was a fewdays ago, they said, wow,
(19:07):
you know Saint Charles East really theygot it, kind of got screwed being
in the Saint regional. Its SaintCharles North. But that being said,
you know that particular sectional, andthere's a few of them like them,
where there's Rockford involved, where there'slike a distances. Then it's kind of
grouped differently with a subsectional where there'sa subsectional on one side and a subsection
(19:29):
on the other side. So theone side of the subsect they're the one
subsectional. There's two regions. There'sCarry Grove Regional and there's an Elgin Regional
that they're in, and it's seatedaccordingly by that right, Carrie Grove has
a number one seed, Saint CharlesNorth does a number two seed, Saint
Charles East has a number three seed. So that's just a way it makes
sense. And and the people arenot a way of Terry Grove is a
(19:51):
really good team. I mean theyhave two big time players, so they
got the number one seed and thenthose two in the regionals. So yes,
it is it a tough break forEast and North for both of them.
Really is it? Thanks you they'rein the same regional. Yes,
you did they get quote unquote screwed. No, I don't think they did.
It's just the way things break down. Yeah, I mean not to
mention too. I mean, you'regonna have to beat the good teams in
(20:12):
order to move on, right atthe end of the day, you know
what I mean. So I justplay who you're gonna play, and and
and and move forward who you're gonnaplay and and For people like you and
me, it's it's pretty exciting. No, because you know Saint Charles Ceas
too. You know, the theAchilles heel has has really been that regional
I mean the last three years,I think they've fallen either in the regional
semi or in that regional final. It gets you know, I saw it.
(20:33):
It gets humbly on their floor.Um, they are gonna want to
get over that hump. I thinkthis is the group that could do it.
Yeah. The problem is is thatSaint Charles North is very likely on
the other side of that. Yeah, but you know, they they can
still they can still steal that one. Yeah, it should should make four
and four. Really fascinating to seehow that develops. I guess we'll kind
of just suck a little bit aboutsome of the other playoffs stuff. Geneva
(20:57):
hosts a regional. They're a six. They'll be playing Mattia Valley on March
fourth, Middall, he's the twelfthseed, and then the winner of that
game will get either Wheed Warrenville Southor down his Rowe South. Wheed Warrenville
South would be the favorite. So, I mean, I know Geneva's they've
they've been up and down this year. They're different team, they're younger,
(21:18):
rebuilding around Josh Preston, but theydo have that regional on their home floor,
probably against the familiar opponent. Theyget to the regional finals. So
um, you know, they haveto they have to like their chances and
then we'll see what happens. Yeah, they could still it. I mean
I saw them against Lake Park andthey you know, they that's a good
team and they handle them, youknow, both times, and that especially
in that one where Scarbosa really wasn'tas a fact of especially this past one.
(21:41):
So, um, I talked aboutthis in the story. I think
you're gonna start seeing a little bitmore talk about him as Dylan Fuzak.
He's a sixth state junior. Um, he's gonna he's gonna pretty having a
good senior year, you know, next year. So with this experience,
Nate Valentine is a good guard.I feel bad for Quinn mcneave. I
feel like he gets two or threefouls a game that aren't fouls, but
(22:02):
uh whatever, So um yeah, and then Batavia I think you mentioned too.
I think they have a fifth seedin that in that sectional, actually
right, they have the seventh seasand um, they in my opinion,
they got kind of a tough draw. I mean they they're the seventh seed.
They're going to Woollabrook and they're playingthe ten seed Glenbard West in their
in their first regional game. GlenbardWest. Um is a team that got
(22:26):
off to a great start this year. Um, but they're really young and
they had kind of a tough break. Um. They're best player, Braden
Huff, he's a six foot eightish sophomore. Um, he heard his
knee probably a few weeks ago andhe's out for the year. So uh
um, they're still a good they'restill a good team, but they are
going to be without their best player. Um. So Batavia I certainly give
(22:48):
them a chance in that game, and then the winner that would play likely
Glen Bardist Well or Willowbrook. GleenBardist has had a great year. They
have two really talented guards, Darrenhall On Dan Cook the football player is
the other one, and then willowBrook Everett the other fantastic guards. Um
and it's fun and certainly guy towatch. So so that's where Batavia is
(23:08):
at. Um. I guess maybewe'll drop into three three eight briefly.
U Kaneln is going to be playingPlano for the third time this year,
and it's at Plano for a regional. Uh so, uh you know,
kind of a a maybe a littlebit of a tough draw for Kanelin plane
Planol at Plano's regional, but obviouslythere's a lot of familiarity there. So
(23:30):
yeah, yeah, yeah, thatgoes yeah exactly, and I you know,
I don't know exact stats, youknow, for the second time they
played, but you know, Griffinclass we talked about him before, just
a really athletic talent and uh forward, Uh, you know Canlon has got
you know, solid guard play youknow from from Brett David and and whatnot.
They can rebound Porter Conrod gets inthere. But you know that play
has a tough draw. Yeah,Plano is a tough draw. And so
(23:52):
I'll the kind of transition that overto talk about teams outside of the Cane
County area planol. Uh. They'vewon eight of their last ten and now
they are tied for the lead withSycamore top to Interstate conference and they're gonna
be playing Sycamore Friday night at Planeand I'll be there for that game and
really looking forward to that game.Sycamore beat them pretty good about a month
ago at Sycamore, but Plane boy, I mean you've seen them to Griffin
(24:17):
Cross is just what a athlette forsix six foot eight Robbie Taylor a really
six foot six solid post players,Mason Accidentality a sophomore shooter. So they
have a really big game this Fridayagainst Sycamore that will decide the interstate Conference
Osweego East. They wrapped up theSouthwest Prairie West last Friday. It was
(24:40):
a game between them and Plainfield Norththat both teams came in still had a
chance to win the conference. Thegame was at Plainfield. I thought it
was going to be a game thatcould go either way, and Sweego last
said no, Sweego least really laidit on a pretty good I think they
were up twenty or so at halftime. Sam Schultz, we've talked about the
four year game twenty six points infifteen rebounds, um, and he's started
(25:03):
kind of rounding fully in to formand playing the way that he's capable of.
So uh, Sueega East a teamto watch going forward in the playoffs,
and um, you know, beforewe wrap up, a team that
I'm kind of watching with an eyeto see what's going to happen. York
is one of the better teams inthe area. But they got some news
in the last week or so.Nate Shockey, their senior guards going to
(25:26):
North Sakota. He's got mono, which I heard that he was sick,
but then I heard he had mono. So that's a little bit different than
the seven year common flude. Soum, they are hoping that he returns
for the playoffs. A little bitunfamiliar. Are uncertain if he's going to
be back. Um, they arein a regional. Uh, they play
Himsel South in the West Suburban ConferenceChampionship Crossover on Wednesday night. Then they're
(25:51):
at a regional at Morton and thatis a very um difficult regional because Morton
is a very talented team. Um, it's a four or five type situation.
So so kind of that's something I'mwatching, just see what happens because
shock, he's a great player andI certainly hope he returns. Yeah,
he's a senior and everything. Ihaven't seen him, but I got to
know Jeff Grace through the most faliableappea SLM so, and he's he's another
(26:15):
standout from him as well. Realquickly, did you see Sam Schultz committed
this morning? No? I didn't. I guess a little breaking news.
He's headed to Northern Michigan. NorthernMichigan, ex so think it's interesting.
I believe Oswego's big guy, ConnorMcCants is also going to the Michigan.
Okay, so uh six foot eight, six foot six, pretty good.
(26:36):
Yeah, I was kind of wonderingabout Sam, what would happen, especially
considering how that meniscus and everything. So that probably kind of kind of altered
his recruiting process a little bit becausepeople are wondering, how do you know
how he's gonna covering everything? Butboy, he's playing great right now.
So um and six foot seven andcan shoot. Yeah, he's he's a
really good player, so good forhim. Awesome. All right, that
