Lívia e suas parceiras de pesquisa coletaram as métricas de publicação de todos os professores e professoras da USP para avaliar os efeitos da desigualdade de gênero na carreira científica. Os resultados revelam que os homens vem apresentando métricas melhores que as mulheres em todas as etapas da carreira nos últimos 70 anos e se nada for feito para alterar a situação, a tendência é de que a desigualdade não será superada. Dessa maneira, seu trabalho nos oferece dados empíricos de qualidade que escancaram o sexismo na ciência brasileira.
