Speaker 1 (00:00):
H m.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Welcome back for this week episode. A couple of days
ago was the Pokemon Day presentation from Nintendo and the
Pokemon Company, and hey, Nyler, what's the verdict on it?
It sucked and it was so dog water, it was
black lutter. The had some of the CCD stuff that
(00:47):
was weak prior to it. Then you had their little
mobile apps that were does any what even you play those?
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Mm hmm nobody really, nobody really plays those except Pokemon
Go nowadays.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
But even then that's kind of mid.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah, that is kind of mid.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
But everything else is kind of a good care. And
then now a huge thing for them is they expanded
their offices to Latin America, so they have localization there,
put Latin American Spanish on their list of naturalized languages.
(01:27):
Mm hmm. And the reason why we're discussing them this
week is because now it was that they do their
yearly presentation in uh February. They are the most profitable
media I T ever created. They're worth over one hundred
billion dollars. They're more more than Disney.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Well, yeah, they've been doing it long. I mean, Disney
has been around longer, but they've been more successful.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
That's an unverse statement and just came from the guy
who like came out the whole idea for Pokemon. The
name escaped my brain at the moment, but his idea
is we're just gonna do a game that basically just
bug catching, and then became that and everyone else who
(02:22):
played a fell in love with it almost thirty years
later or twenty nine years later, worked well over one
hundred billion dollars. Anyways, Like, the only two things that
were not old that were in the presentation were the
Pokemon Champions thing, which is basically a foul similar or
can do Battle Revolution or Showdown if you do Showdown
(02:44):
for Smogan, real instruments and checking numbers, and then uh,
now you have to have legends.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Now, those are two things I want to talk about.
Remember the old Remember the old Battle Revolution, the one
that came out with Jen.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Four or yes, and that was good.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
That was great because I think it was the first
ever we game for Pokemon where you can port over
your Pokemon from the DS Diamond.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Pearl download the system. Yeah mm hmm, well I think
you could kind of do that if you use the
convoluted system of the GameCube for XD and Coliseum. But
it was convoluted and expensive. This was much cheaper. You
just needed we a d S, a DS game, and
a copy of Battle Revolution.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Yeah. I remember playing the hell out of Power Revolution.
It was much fun. I I unfortunately didn't have it
for the my wei, but I would always play it
at my friends and it was so much fun.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Right, and the animations looked good again and then again,
game Sorority was always very good at making the animations.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
But here's the thing. It was good animation for the
we for the time, and.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
It still looks better than a lot of the newer titles.
Oh yeah, that says something. And then you know, fourth,
you have the mod for the mod of Luminets and
Platinum that gives all those battle animations, and and and Platinum.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
I got some other wee games I would like to
talk about for the h for Pokemon, since you know
Pokemon Day was the other day. Oh ahead, do you
remember my Pokemon ring?
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Really?
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Do you remember that one? No? Oh my god? So
that one was basically you poorted your Pokemon over the
same thing for Battle or Revolution. You just poured it
over the Pokemon from the from DS and it's like
a little lake you to take care of them. You
will have them battle e other. It's it's it was fun.
(05:02):
I liked it.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Or wait, were you talking about Rumble or something else?
Speaker 1 (05:07):
No, no, no, this was my Pokemon ranch.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Oh okay, gotcha.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Oh no, but I remember Pokemon Rumble. That one was
a good one.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Yeah. Well, it's like the spinoff games were always oh yeah,
the main series one where after then five they have
all been bad.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
The one, uh, the one I really liked besides Pokemon
Revolution was Pokey Park We Pika Trio's Adventure because you
just it was an open world Pokemon game of our
open world Pokemon game sort of thing.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Ah. Yeah, I've never played that one.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Oh yeah it was. It was fun. It's basic. So
the plot is is that he Pika Tru loses all
his friends when entering the Pokemon Poka Park, and you
got to go around and find all these prison pieces
and you could just go around finding your friends, battling
and level you up.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Oh so kind.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Of like a kind of like a Mystery dungeon, but
it's not Mystery Dungeon.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Well, thankfully they did a remake for uh Red and
Blue Rescue Team, and those games are good when like
when it were transitioning from Gen three over to the
GUN four, except I had a Red Rescue team for
the GBA.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Oh yeah, I had Blue Rescue team.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
And then well it's like all right, I started, I
was playing those games. My first Pokon game was like
Leaf Green Fire Red on the GBA. My second one
is the Ruby and Sapphire okay, the other thing, and
then sometimes fire significant calcy on back hop he got
lost later on.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, so my first Pokemon game was Red. Then it
was Ruby Sapphire Emerald because I got all three. Okay,
well that was Gen three, right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
RSC was Gen three, and as we know, the best
generations were Gens two through five.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Yeah, two was Silver and Gold.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Just red to not have not right up. Gen five
just everything was great. It was just the designs that
were just kind of.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
I never played the original Silver and Golden Crystal, but
I played the remakes.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Oh yeah. The remakes just brought those like just the
original gold and Silver back on this out of the
crystal content and then upon other things. It just made
it significantly better. So if you wanted to play a
good Gen two game, you just played the Gen four
copies of it or the remakes of Gen two.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Now to everybody listening out there, if you are trying
to play Punkmon for first time, whether that be your kids,
be like anyone, start with Gen one if you can
get it on an emulator, because you can't get like
you cannot get the originals anymore.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Well, people hoard those if you or if but if
you final in a retro game stop like place, you
definitely pick it there so that we can have the
original hardware experience. But that's hard to do. Otherwise, I
would say, go game for the Gen one remix and
firoidal Meat screen so that because that's like when it's
(08:35):
easier to do and you have this sevi Asle stuff
for post game, so you won't and still get the
original Gen one experience.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Yeah, I mean you could do that it that way,
but I would say, if you really want to challenge,
then do the originals. Oh yeah, just remember the originals.
It was only one hundred and fifty one Pokemon.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
That's true. And if you want to make yourself broken,
you just again like modern day and using the Gen
one game, all you do is you just look on
what does everyone use and smogan terms for Gen One,
We'll just use a corros snor X Chancy executor, and
then's like two others that are pretty good, Beard Own Discretion,
(09:20):
and then you'll probably just steamroll the game.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
That is true.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Toros is ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Toros is ridiculously op. In those games, they nerved it.
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Oh and then in Gen two they had a buffet
store at the game just revolved around snore Land.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Oh that was that was fun treat.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
And then for Jen three, Oh, you kind of revolved
around Taranatar. Oh yeah, yeah, was well jennfore you had
like two or three months that are revolved around and
then uh.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
What word those two or three I have to just.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Go back and check it. It's been a while since
I've checked.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Oh check real quick.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
I mean you could. I was just gonna use Oh,
there's a good YouTube channel that gives you all the
good information for smogan. I'd like to say it.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Oh, oh you.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Know the channel I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, but I'm just going to say the best non
legendary Pokemon would be guards Trump in Gen four.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Yeah, for a physical attacker.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Yeah, but at the time, at the time, through that stuff,
at the time, it was the best for Gen four.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Actually, no, Salomance was better, was so good where they
had to ban it to Ubers to saying, but Ubers
is where box art legends go because they're ridiculously broken,
like the two the psychic legendaries of Gen one, those
were Ubers. So Gen one Ubers just went like it's
(11:13):
oh you, but it's adds a new mewtwo.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
And then Jen two Ubers was gen to owe you
with the addition of YouTube mew Lugia. Ho, that's that's it.
That was good to duration, so every oh you. So
every Ubers team in Gen two had a snorel Axe,
(11:40):
I think, a Lubia and a mewtwo and then anything
else that would that could play at that power level
or at least kind of survived. Oh and then of
course for Gen four we have to bring up the
Trodingers out of foe.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Come on, twegsire Oh my god, yeah, sure cat.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
It's in every tier and a no tier. It just
counters Kiogar and Ubers.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
Yeah right, every tier no tear at the same time.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yeah, it has no reason to be an Ubers, but
it's just they're just like the Hi it looks at Kyogart,
you're dead tries to buff yourself or use a water
movement because you're a choice and it's just healing and
you're poison. And then also it's like, well I just
I might as well die now.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Pretty bunch? Oh did you want to talk about Pokemon?
Speaker 2 (12:42):
I mean we could so anyone who doesn't know poke
one is a fan made Pokemon MMO that's actually pretty good.
It takes a super duper long time for them to
develop anything, and right now they only have Unova, Doodo
and Canto play in. You have to choose in Cantor
(13:03):
Dodo and then you have to donate a specific amount
right the level eighty, explore other content or get you know,
thea app like on top of spending like ten thousand
Folko dollars in Cantor Dodo. But otherwise they're I think
there are all they're in the finalization process for putting
in Sono. I got tired of the play it. Yes,
(13:26):
I would say, I'm pretty wasn't I wasn't?
Speaker 1 (13:29):
I really hesitant? At first?
Speaker 2 (13:31):
You were, and I said, bro, just do it.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Why was I hesitanted?
Speaker 2 (13:37):
I don't understand why you were hesitant because all the
maps were like for Canto and Dodo were just a
combination of the leaf green, fire red and her COLTL
silver maps.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Are they almost done with snow?
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Are they also et cetera. That's something we would have
to check the newsletter for. But that's reading and then
try to find YouTube video for their live themes of
them making the Cino maps. Mm hmm, yeah, that'll take
a long time now.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
They're The second Legends game being released later this year
is Za, which is done in pallow So therefore it's
gonna be megas. I've never been a fan of Mega Mechanic.
I just think it's a stupid gimmick that that's just
increased power levels. And then you look at the Smogan
tier list for Gen six almost let me reprace. Most
(14:31):
megas are ubers. That should tell you how I don't
like using ubers. That should say something, Oh yeah, using legendaries.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Yeah, using legendaries. It takes the fun out of Pokemon.
Honestly that I.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Look at them like you grab them for trophies. Otherwise
that's about it.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
They're not really they're just literally giant paper weights, right.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Well, it's like you can use the the ones that
are not as good for competitive like singles. In other words,
progan but that's like because again they're they're good, but
they're not like overpowered like the box art ones. The
only box art legend that's exception is Speaking, but Speaking
(15:21):
is also not like a main box art because it
was in the original Gold and Silver rather than what
it is the box art of Crystal. Right, it's just there.
The only reason why Speedcoon was on the cover of
Crystals just because the added content with you see and
the speaking quest stuff that then Crystal.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Wasn't Crystal the pan version.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
No, Crystal is the third version because that's what's right
Therystal World and Platinum.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
I'm thinking I'm thinking of you're thinking Green Green.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Yeah, yeah, you were totally thinking Green. Anything you're looking
forward to in Za because it looks interesting. I know
my brother is very excited for it, and when it
comes to the Pokemon game, he was like, I want
to play test at first before buying it because it's
probably gonna be bad. But he looks at the Legends
game and goes, accept Legends, I'll just buy that, And
(16:25):
then he looked at Champions. He's like, hey, this is
basically HD Showdown. I approve. I like saying, oh, and
then of course there's Unite, which is, hey, you do
like League of Legend, It's League, but Pokemon. I'm not
a fan. The costumes are cool, though, that is true.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
Sorry I was stretching, Oh.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Yeah, you're all good in our second week of like
we're a second time recording of doing this from home.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Yeah, that's true. Brandon doesn't come back. I think why
you said mid March.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Yeah, mid March is when I should be returning back
to the medicine area, and we have first I know
for sure one more we would be doing from home.
But outside of that.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Yeah, I think in person, I think what next week
will be the last one in person over here at home.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
It's the week after that's gonna be a from home
situation because that is D and D with a guess
we're bringing on and he said remote would be the easiest.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Solution for him, and don't forget.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Oh yeah, the week after. But the week after that, though,
I thought to I'm still trying to get that worked out.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Yeah, no, I understand that.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
But Tyler, again, do you have anything you're excited for
for Legends?
Speaker 1 (18:01):
The only thing that I'm excited for was from the
video was Legends. I mean, it looks better than what
RS was.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
It looked like a PS two game.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
No, for what it was worth, RUS was a good game.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Oh no, it was excellent. It just looked like a
PS two game. But it was all a fun and yeah,
the best these we see a spiel just rolling down
a hill. Yeah, it was the greatest thing. But no,
it's like, is there anything from Legends exclusively that you're
interested in, like their new like their updated battle system,
(18:38):
or or is it like what they'll do with There
are choices of the two other Joe starters plus a TEPI.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
I think the above, all the above, the above.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
It's it's sues for your starter for Legends, and are
you gonna go with the check reta total or tepi.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
Oh, probably the total aisle for sure.
Speaker 2 (19:04):
Because I've never been a fan of chick Aurita. Tepig
is bad.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Yeah, no, here's the thing. Trigger it is bad total
op and Teppig is.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Okay tot oh no, no, no, that thing just all
it does just munch on things and then it doesn't
really I have to double check the stats. Is this
prolligator stats em that going to preach of the stats
are just kind of eh. But Ganium is just a
(19:37):
one trick pony. Like the stats on the thing going
off of uh website, that's true. Yeah, it's like all
the stats are just are just kind of there it
going thing. It's it's physical defense. But here's the thing.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Totadyl was a good starter.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
And it was no that was that was Ennicol all day,
every day. Okay, lable starter.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Okay, okay, Sindquil was the best starter. Totadyl is the
second good best.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
And then Chickery is literally just the what trick pony.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Pickery is just garbage started in the trash game.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Yeah, it's there for support and sitting there just doing nothing.
Yeah right, I never had a I just looked like like,
why does this thing just kind of stit here? If
I wanted the Stallly tanky Mont, I would pick a Umbrion.
(20:43):
That thing just doesn't die, right, awesome?
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Is there anything else you want to add before we
end this recording?
Speaker 2 (20:54):
I don't really have anything else either. No.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
We basically covered the whole pokem on Day video in
our favorite games and everything, So yep.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Only thing I think I'll add in is to contact us.
You can contact us through x through the Facebook community group,
or you can also email us at last chat BT
at gmail dot com.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Have a.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Good rest of your week.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
And yep and oh hold on, and next week's topic
will be Canceledania.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Which was going to be last week, but we had
to do a reshuffle, which is why I put out
that whole free organization shorty. That way everyone else. Yeah,
you guys could also know the order of topics that
are coming up
Speaker 1 (21:51):
Right, So this is where we're ended, and you guys
are have a great dayt
