(00:02):
Hello everyone, and welcome to theLadies Tell Podcast. It's yet again another
Ladies Tell podcast. I am veryexcited about this, and I am over
here doing things I ought not tobe doing on my phone. I don't
know why. I just all ofa sudden was like, I'm doing it,
y'all. I'm gonna do this livestream when I look horrible with a
cap on my head and I didn'teven do my hair. But nope,
(00:26):
live stream for me. Boom,Yeah, because I'm smart like that.
Anyway. I think that's it.I think that's all I want to say
about myself. The narcissist has runout of words about herself. And you
know I'm a true narcissist because Ijust talked about me and the third person,
(00:47):
so you're not here to hear aboutme. Nope, I lie.
There is stuff I want to sayabout me. I knew that there was
things, I just was missing it. These are the things I want to
say about me. I wrote booksgo figure. Yes. This entire show
started because I wrote book Yes,and they are. And I thought divorces
(01:08):
right, and I thought being grownup was easy. If only our mere
verse form coffee Whidow's Web and Whiddowsdebt. And in case you're wondering why
I'm doing this, this is thesign and ASL sign for number six.
So that is six books that arewritten actually their audiobooks, so you can
get those wherever your audiobooks are found. They're as written. I mean,
I would really prefer if you boughtthe book and then bought the audiobook because
(01:32):
it would be twice the amount ofroyalty checked for me, and then I
could do more things like I don'tknow, go see a production from Purple
Productions and yes, I randomly pullthat out of the air for a reason,
y'all. But you can see thethe rest of the hour eleven books
because we have seventeen books in totalat www dot and I thought ladies dot
com and yeah, because I don'tfeel like I was funny and I ran
(01:53):
out of things to say about myselfas a narcissist, and that's just wrong.
That is my job as a narcissistto talk about me. I'm gonna
do it in car salesman style,so you can find out more about the
books than what the ladies are upto at www. Lowercaps w And I
thought, lady, oh, thatfeels funny every time I do it.
(02:15):
I probably wore that bit out.Yep, probably so bad. But it's
not important because you're not here tohear about me. You're here to hear
about I. Wonderful gas, wonderfulgas. Would you like to introduce yourself?
Hello, everybody. My name isElicia Marie and I am the CEO
and executive producer of Purple Hair Productions, which is a very small local film
production company in northwest Florida. Ihave kind of written a book called did
(02:40):
That Just Happen? Which is acollection of random things that have happened to
me in my life, which youcan find on Amazon. I used to
be a mermaid, and I cannotdrink water out of a cup if it's
not clear. Yes, yeah Iwant to, But the last one I'm
(03:04):
not sure how to do it.And y'all don't know this. But like
before we got on here, Imade a joke that went so bad about
bears and coffee. Well, I'mgonna stand away. I'm just I'm gonna
go back up from that. Ihave a joke, back up, back
up from the joke, the stickwith professionalism, the random book. So
(03:27):
you just like, did you justrandomly write things with no connection. Is
this is random? So like Iused to like write just like these posts
on Facebook, which is like stuffthat happened to me or crazy stuff that
people said, and someone was like, you should put it together in a
little book like those Chicken Soup forthe Souls where it's just like random stories
from different people. But it's justlike the random things that happened to me.
(03:52):
And so I just like took likerandom Facebook posts and I put them
in a book and I put iton Amazon. So yeah, it's all
great. I'm glad that you didit. Thank you, thank you so
much for that. And no,I haven't read it yet. I just
knew you did productions and they're hereto talk about. So now I have
to go to Amazon and get thisrandom book. Tell us the title one
(04:15):
more time so we know where towhat we're buying. It's called did that
just happen? Stories to make youlaugh? Cry roll your eyes inside.
Yeah, I don't know that justhappened. I told you I'm bad at
jokes today. No, let's talkabout what we came here to talk about.
(04:35):
All right, I'm behind you. What's in post production? Oh,
zombies, it's my my film,my first feature film, which is in
post production. Yeah, what doesit take to get a film into production
and then now into post a lotum and money U. So it's it's
(05:00):
really weird because it's the first timeI've ever done something like this. I
am an actress and during COVID Iwrote the script here and then I didn't
know if I was going to doanything with it. And then I was
talking to a producer here in thearea that I've done some short films with
and he was like, I loveit, Let's do it. And I
was like, you mean like inthree years once we get money, and
(05:23):
he was like, I can doit now, and we did. It
was like the weirdest like and Iknow that's not normally how it goes.
Usually there's a lot of preparation, and there was a lot of preparation leading
up to filming, but yeah,it was just like one of those things
(05:45):
where he's like, I like it, let's do it. And I was
like, okay, let's I haveno idea what I'm doing because I've never
done it before. Like I said, all I've done is being in front
of the camera, never behind,So I had no idea of any of
that stuff. So it's been aright question for follow Well, are you
going to do it again? AmI gonna do it again? Yes?
(06:08):
Yes, I'm actually in pre productionfor my next feature film, which is
called an Emerald Coast Christmas, whichis a Christmas movie. So right now
we're in the fundraising and casting stageof that film. So right now for
Zombies, we just got done withCGI, which took a very long time,
(06:29):
and so now we'll be doing soundand color and we're hoping it will
release this fall. And we're hopingto be able to shoot my Christmas movie
sometime in the next few months. But we'll see. It just depends on
how quickly we can raise the moneyfor it. I just want to say
I know a non actress and looksabsolutely adorable and a baseball tt yeah,
(06:57):
and she recently found out that shecan deliver one line. Well, hey,
that's the start. You have tostart somewhere, you know. I
don't desire to be an actress,Okay, but like I'm not gonna lie.
If there is a part and itis shooting sometime I don't know,
in the fall or something in Florida, I will happily be down there because
(07:19):
I mean, it's freaking cold uphere. Oh where are you. I'm
in Maryland. Oh oh yeah,it is pretty cold out there in that
Yeah. I mean it was thefirst time I was an actress in front
of a camera. That was likea I don't know. My friends said,
now, you were actress long beforethat, and I was like,
(07:40):
hmm, I was just acting.Oh yeah, I got to actually be
in front of a camera like ina real movie production. I was like
experience at least once. I think, yes, it was, um not
(08:01):
as much fun anyway, let's goon to do that. I found time
to talk about myself, like I'mthinning, but I got it in what
Okay? So what is that? What's the new? Can you tell us
a bit about like the old movieor the new movie or something like that.
(08:22):
Um So, the old movie iscalled of Zombies, which is like
about undead mutant bees. Um So, it's basically it's like, you know,
one of those cheesy sci fi moviesyou would see on the Sci Fi
channel back in the day, likeShark Nato and Pirana Conda and all that
kind of stuff. I love thosemovies, like the cheesier the better,
(08:45):
you know, what I'm saying. So, um, this one is about
a small town in Florida. Um, and they have this bee problem and
so obviously they have to try tofigure out how to get rid of the
zombie bees without eliminating all of thehives that happn't mutated. And it is
kind of like it won't say it'slike environmental, but it is because like,
(09:07):
I don't think people realize how importanthoneybees are to the not the environment
and all that kind of stuff, and how much of our crops actually come
from honeybees, and there is like, you know, they're disappearing and things
like that. So we do kindof touch on that in the film.
We're not trying to get preachy oranything like that. Um, but you
(09:30):
know, we figured we throw sometidbits of information in there for people.
And so my my new film isif you've seen a Hallmark movie, I
think you kind of already know theformula. Girl lives in big city,
goes back to small town. There'san old flame, there's a boyfriend in
the big city, and and chaosand ensues or whatever. So that's that's
(09:56):
basically the gist of like I said, if you've seen any Christmas movie on
the Hallmark Channel or Lifetime, thereis a formula. I did throw in
some things there that would change itup a little bit, just because you
know, I always say there's alwaysfour formulas for a Hallmark Channel movie,
So you know, I try toswitch it up a little bit without strength
(10:18):
too far away. Our goal is, you know, maybe to have it
picked up by one of those streamingplatforms or something like that. So I'm
just over here just like, oh, I want to talk craft No,
no, I'm not talking crafts. So I have to ask you my important
question. Okay, was their craftservices? Absolutely? Absolutely? Look,
(10:46):
I have to eat every two hours, okay, So there was no way
it was going to be my movieand there was not going to be food
on that set. So there wascrafts there. I mean I was craft
services because in an indie film youare like everything that's not the crew.
So yes, there every day Istopped and got donuts, coffee for everybody
(11:07):
that was lunch. There was snacks. It was I made sure people were
not hungry, and by people Imeet me, you're when you're in charge
of things, you can definitely makesure that you're not hungry. Support to
me that I am fed. Um, yes, absolutely so, because I
(11:28):
have to cut the short because Ihave to get back to actually doing things
for friends. No problem. Thisis testing my friendship. I'm sure she
appreciates it. Or question, wherecan people find out more information about you?
And where can we see this movieand or tend the movie premiere by
(11:52):
tickets for the movie premiere maybe laterand later when it's done. Yeah,
So my website is a purpoolehair productiondot com. So there's all the information
about my all my films and productionand pre production post production. My Facebook
page is I have one at PurpleHair Productions and then at Zombies the Movie.
(12:16):
So everything that will be putting uptheir information about tickets, updates,
all that kind of stuff will beon all of my Facebook pages on my
Instagram and so yeah, that's whereyou can pretty much mind everything anything you
want to know, or you cansend me a message and ask me too.
I'm happy to answer any questions. But all that information a Purple Hair
(12:39):
Production dot com awesome news. Ihave questions to ask after this because I
want to know. I want toknow can you show me? And I
can? And I will normally ourour our audience would looks you have me
all messed up. I'm thinking aboutcasting guests crafty, I'm like craft so
(13:03):
thing, I'm still thinking about crafty. My bad. Hey, that's how
I am too, So don't don'tfeel bad about it. Find together and
get off of the idea of crafty, all right, or three two one,
I'm off of donuts. Okay.Thank you so much for telling us
where we can find out more informationabout you. And I would say all
(13:24):
those questions I was gonna ask afterwe fit quit filming is because normally our
audience would know the answers too.But m boo hoo, when she comes
back again for her Christmas movie, then you'll know answers I'll ask. So
I'm gonna go ahead and wrap itup for me. Over here, you
can find out everything that your ladiesare up to at www. Dot And
I thought ladies dot Com recognized there'sno car salesman pitch after that one while
