Speaker 1 (00:04):
You're listening to the Minute Sound Growth podcast the show
that brings you mindfully curated insights into relationships, spirituality, personal
development and everything in between with your hosts tenas the
same Poor Hi sol friends at Tanasa the same port,
and welcome back to another solo episode of the Minute
Sound Growth Podcasts. So we are currently in airy season, which,

(00:29):
astrologically speaking, is all about bold action, initiation and this
fire energy.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
And I don't know about you, but I've really been
feeling it. I've also been seeing it come up in
conversations with clients and friends, the idea of doing, of starting,
of taking inspired action, and how much resistance can come
up around it. So here's the truth. You do not

(00:58):
need to know everything before you begin. And I see
this often. Someone wants to start a business, a new
project and new habit and the first thing they say
is I just don't know enough yet. I need to
take one more course. I need to feel more ready.
But what if I told you that confidence doesn't come

(01:20):
before action, It comes from it. Let me say that again.
Confidence is built by doing, by showing up even when
you don't have all the answers, by failing, by adjusting
and trying again. That's where real confidence lives, and the
repetition and the showing up and the experience. I want

(01:44):
to share an example from one of my clients who
is working through a certification program that she has desired
for so long. But we had a little bit of
an issue the first couple of months because she kept
starting and stopping. Every time she got this burst of motivation,

(02:08):
she'd start, she'd get the momentum going, and then she'd
let it go again. And so the stories, the narrative
that came up for her as a result of that
was maybe I'm not made for this, or I'm not
a good student, and a wide range of other excuses
that she would tell herself every time that motivation subsided.

(02:33):
And I get it. I've been there too when I
depended solely on motivation, and I can understand also how
emotionally hard it is when you've promised herself something and
then you don't follow through. But here's something that someone
told me many years ago that changed my life that

(02:54):
I shared with her that I'd love to share with
you too, and that is motivation is great, but it's fleeting.
It's based on how we feel now. Discipline on the
other hand, discipline trump's motivation because it is an act
of self love. Discipline is based on what we value

(03:15):
it self integrity. It's saying I matter and my word matters.
Because every time we make a promise to ourselves and
we don't follow through, we chip away at our self
trust and we chip away at our self confidence. But
every time we do show up for ourselves, even in
the smallest way possible, we build that trust again. We

(03:40):
are telling our nervous system, hey, you can count on me.
So eventually my client committed to making a schedule that
felt safe to our nervous system, that wasn't overwhelming, that
felt realistic, and we broke it down. We broke down
the work into small pieces O my module, and I

(04:02):
held her accountable through a system that we created together,
and she did it. And then after a few weeks
I got a message from her saying, wait a second,
I'm loving this. I feel so good about myself. I'm
showing up differently. I'm actually enjoying studying and it seems
like I'm good at it. And that's it right there.

(04:25):
What changed was in the program. It wasn't the content,
it was the action. She chose to take that consistency,
that discipline, and it helped her build her self efficacy,
which in psychology is just a fancy word for the
belief that you can handle whatever is in front of you,

(04:48):
and self efficacy matters. Studies have shown that the more
self efficacy you have, the more likely you are to
keep going, to try new things, to handle stress, and
even to succeed in your career. Now here's where I
want to make a quick distinction. Self worth is innate.
You are born with it. Nothing you do or don't

(05:12):
do can take it away. Self worth is not earned,
it's remembered. I'm going to repeat that. Self worth is
not earned, it's remembered. Self esteem, on the other hand,
which is made up of self confidence and self efficacy,
those are things you can build. We can work on it.

(05:35):
It is in your hands. And when you start taking action,
even small, imperfect action, you are showing the universe I'm in,
I'm ready. I'm not just talking about it, i am
doing it. And that's when things begin to shift because
the universe responds to energy, and your energy changes when

(05:55):
you take inspired action. So this is the energy of
airy season. It is time for you to stop over
preparing and start doing. You don't need to fake confidence
because you're going to create it. You will embody it
once you start taking action. So if you've been putting

(06:17):
something off because you're waiting to feel ready, this is
your gentle nudge from me to take one small step today,
just one. So start the thing, speak the truth, sign up, press, publish,
whatever it is. You don't need to have it all

(06:37):
figured out, but you do need to move because that's
how we grow, that's how we evolve, that's how we
become the version of ourselves that we're dreaming about, by
being her, by being him, not waiting for her or him.
So once again I want to say that when you

(06:59):
start to take inspired action, even small, imperfect action, you
are starting to build self confidence. You're starting to enhance
self efficacy, which that increases and enhances your self esteem.

(07:20):
And it's a domino effect. Suddenly that thing that was
so big and scary in your mind that you didn't
feel ready for you start to shift the way you
feel about it. Not only do you start to see
the fruits of your labor, which will actually motivate you
to continue going, but you start to tap into this

(07:43):
truth that I can do difficult things, I can start
projects that are outside of my comfort zone, and that
itself again enhances your self confidence. It's a beautiful cycle,

(08:03):
beautiful loop to be in. So I hope you take
this as a sign to take inspired action towards your dreams,
desires and visions today. Thank you so so much for
tuning in today. If this episode resonated with you, please
