Speaker 2 (00:07):

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Hello again, everybody, and welcome back inside the Shields Center
here in Fargo. It is game number two of a
back to back this week for the North Dakota State
Bison as EDDSU looks to build off of last night
it's home opening win against cal State Northridge. They welcome
in the Saints Scholastica Saints welcome court side, everyone and

(01:08):
to another Wednesday night a Bison basketball along with the
former Bison Dexter Warner. I'm Sam Biederman. I hope you've
had a nice week so far. Certainly a nice night
for the Bison last night, their first win on the season,
and they opened up the home slate with a ninety
to sixty eight victory over cal State Northridge. Bison were
down at the half thirty three to thirty, shooting a

(01:31):
Beasley just twenty one percent from the floor, but Indiasu
turned it around in the second half.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
They were amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
They scored sixty points in the second half, lockdown cal
State Northridge and next thing you know, Dexter Byson look
up they win by twenty two.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
Yeah, just a kind of like we talked about, I mean,
a tale of two halves.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
It was looking bleak.

Speaker 5 (01:55):
On the offensive end for NUSU in that first half
and then really turned it around.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Big edit to the guys.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Like we said, they came out, got comfortable, kept shooting
good shots, stepped up with confidence, and got hot from
the field.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Had certainly started in the back court for the Bison.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Tomorrow Wheeler Thomas twenty two points in his first game
at home, and over a year Andy Stefanowitz started the
engine two.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
He had seventeen points.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
Yeah, and those two are really going to be the
guys that kind of perpetuate things.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Both gonna play a ton of point guard minutes.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
They've both been there, done that a little bit now,
and they got to be the first ones to get going.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Get the rest of the guys going with them.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Got Damari with almost a career high, his career high
at thirty. He put up twenty two in the game,
and then Andy was seventeen, a new career high for
the Minnetonka, Minnesota native. So now tonight you've got the
second of a back to back. Saint Scholastica is a
Division three school outed du Luth, Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
They compete in the Mayak.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
We saw a team from the Mayak here a couple
of years ago with Saint o Waff.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
You might remember that game.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
So obviously the Bison have plenty of advantages physically skill
wise in this type of game, but you get an
opportunity to simulate what you'll see in the postseason with
playing games on back to back nights.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
Yeah, you know, this is just a learning game for
ENDSU and it's about obviously you're playing an opponent that
you should come out here and be able to beat,
but it's about, you know, how do you handle that.
Prep of these guys were here at ten pm last night,
you know, doing postgame recovery, you go home, you come
right back again in.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
The morning for shoot around.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
So it's like, how do you handle that prep in
that turnaround mentally physically you know, from getting the ice
bath to eating. What are these guys doing to get
ready to do it again? Two nights in a row
and it's a good early tester.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
We'll see if the Bison can make it back to
back victories and improved in two and two on the season.
This is the case ih pregame show. Nothing's more satisfying
than the perfect swish, except for maybe the perfect farm equipment.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Get yours with.

(06:17):
It's NDSU hosting Saint Scholastica tonight, game number two of
a back to back this week, and we're here with
Coach Richmond for our pregame chat. Coach, great to see you,
Congratulations on the victory last night. Love to see it
in the postgame recap. Our first Dave Richmond fist pump
lunge celebration in the locker room this season.

Speaker 9 (06:39):
Yeah, I mean that's fun, right, And it's certainly fun
for me. It's become a thing, hopefully more so than anything,
it's fun for the locker room and enjoy and certainly
a different field, Sam, to be right back here tonight
running it back. So many positive things, especially from an
efforts standpoint last night, especially from you know, such a

(07:00):
you know, a krusty culture guy and core values guy,
you know those things, Sam, but from an endurance standpoint,
just a way we responded and you know, hard things,
tough situations, adversity is going to get thrown at you,
and our guys just did an outstanding job in that
second half of responding from those things and and just
just really leaned on a see some team that I'm

(07:23):
not going to sit here and tell you they're gonna
win the national championship, but I think I got a
lot of respect for how any newman does it.

Speaker 10 (07:29):
And you could see that in the.

Speaker 9 (07:30):
Physicality that they played with how they beat us up
on the glass a little bit in the first half.
But you know, more so than anything, you know, our
our effort and our ability to respond for some things
that weren't going our way from the first to the
second half was it was very fun and very encouraging
to see a.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Huge second half, Coach, and a lot of it started
defense turning into offense that looked like it was a
spark early on.

Speaker 9 (07:54):
Yeah, and again, anybody that wants to listen to this
can listen to it. I think it's it's going to
continue to be an in to us too. But it's
also it's two fold. Number one, we weren't letting our
opponents score. You know, we held them to point eight
five points per possession.

Speaker 10 (08:08):
That's terrific. Anytime you're at one or under one is
a great, great mark. And we did that. But not
only did we.

Speaker 9 (08:13):
Do that, we also forced turnovers that led to us
getting out and getting some opportunities.

Speaker 10 (08:18):
And I still see some.

Speaker 9 (08:19):
Things we met as a staff here already this morning
that you know, there's some things offensively that, to our
guys's credit because of how they're playing defensively, that we
can take advantage of in some early shot clock opportunities
that we need to get better at and keep the
game simple in our transition offense as well too. But yeah, no,
I mean, it could not be more plays and proud

(08:40):
could not be more excited to continue to build on
some things that we were defensively, and then obviously then
how that parlayed into you know, who we were who
we can.

Speaker 11 (08:48):
Be offensively offensively.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
It really got going with your two returning guards, Tomorrow
Wheeler Thomas had twenty two points. Andy stefano Itz seventeen points.
How were those guys able to drive the bus?

Speaker 10 (08:59):
You know, we talked to the guys today before shoot around.

Speaker 9 (09:01):
You know, Trayson Anderson and nine rebounds in eleven minutes.
Noah Pederson, you know, is starting to get it a
little bit like his his motor and mentality and all
those things. TC had ten rebounds, you know, which was
great to see. But make no mistake that the spark,
the energy was those two and and in different ways,
you know, Tomorrow's energy and intensity defensively, to see him

(09:24):
shoot the ball like that, yeah, I can't tell you
how rewarding that is because the young man's put in
so much time and then you know, for him to
experience that after, you know, I think I heard he
hadn't been on the court at home for you know,
twenty months basically, and then Andy, I think that's I think,
and I hope and anticipate that's just a sign of
things to come. You know, Andy is very very cerebral,

(09:44):
sees the game at an elite level, but he's also
an extremely high competitor, and and and don't judge the
book by its cover. From the lack of presence physically,
isn't isn't don't measure the It doesn't measure the heart,
the the guts, the doll the toughness in him.

Speaker 10 (10:01):
And I thought he was just a great spark.

Speaker 9 (10:03):
He made some big time plays defensively to get hands
on the ball, you know, in some sideline out of
bound situations that created some offense for us. He does
a good job on the glass, like he had seventeen,
but he also had five and four and those are
big time numbers.

Speaker 11 (10:17):
How exciting is that for you coach?

Speaker 2 (10:19):
When you zoom out a little bit and and he's
only started five six games at this point in his career.

Speaker 10 (10:25):
Yeah, that's what I mean.

Speaker 9 (10:26):
That's I just think and hope and anticipate again, as
he continues to get more and more comfortable with that
many minutes and those game like situations, it's a sign
of things to come.

Speaker 10 (10:36):
I know this.

Speaker 9 (10:36):
Andy's been a winner. He won a state championship, you know,
in high school. And I still go back to like,
he wasn't supposed to be successful at the end of
the season like he was. And you don't sit there
all year as a freshman, and you know, and not
play a whole bunch, or you play and then you
don't play and all those things, and then you're thrust
into you know, major minutes in a big situation.

Speaker 10 (10:58):
You know, and to be able to go out of execute.

Speaker 9 (11:00):
And so you know, and I think the encouraging part
too is is Andy knows this, and I keep reiterating
it to Andy.

Speaker 10 (11:07):
There's more. There's more to him too, There's more that.

Speaker 9 (11:09):
He can give to our team from a verbal standpoint,
from a communications standpoint. But yeah, you know, certainly very
encouraged by Andy and and de Mauri and again all
all of our guys.

Speaker 10 (11:20):
I do feel a little bit like this.

Speaker 9 (11:22):
We were talking a lot, you know, this time last
night about markis Strickland. You know, I thought Mark I
was just okay, But then we had other guys step up.
And I do see that being an M of this
team a little bit.

Speaker 10 (11:33):
This season.

Speaker 11 (11:34):
You mentioned Noah Pederson earlier.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
He had six blocks coach, tied for the second most
in a single game by a Bizen and the most
since Dexter did it in twenty fifteen.

Speaker 9 (11:44):
Oh great, we get to hear Dexter talk about it.
Now that's that's on you. He'll have to put up
with this. As you guys are listening to this. Again,
I'm not a stats guy, as you can tell, I
didn't really realize that. I appreciate that nugget, Sam. But again,
that's that's so fun and encouraging, see and and and
sometimes as a coach, there's the guilt, like you're so hard,
you're relentless on on certain guys in particular, like just

(12:08):
because I gravitate to the big guys and have just
been really hard on tracing and really.

Speaker 10 (12:13):
Hard on Noah and and maybe not.

Speaker 9 (12:15):
Hards that we're really encouraging, that's the politically correct term.
And to see those guys respond with you know, Tracon's
rebounding and Noah protecting the rim. You know, we talk
a lot about this is our house, you know, and
especially around the rim, and we need to protect those things.
And Noah's really starting to grasp those concepts.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Looking at tonight's matchup Saint Scholastka and night number two
of a back to back, what's the key for the
approach in a back to back game like tonight, it's you.

Speaker 9 (12:40):
Know, ironic, That's what we just talked about I think
our approach has been outstanding. I talked to coach Miller.
We have a very mature group. We have a very
focused group. There's not a lot of bs before games.
They're kind of into their own rhythms and routines and habits,
which is terrific to see.

Speaker 10 (12:54):
And that's just it. You know, this, this is this
is another game.

Speaker 9 (12:57):
This is another opportunity for us to continue to row
and yeah, ultimately win the thing. But we need to
start with our approach, our focus and hammer those little details,
because shame on us if we think we've won one
game now and think we've arrived.

Speaker 10 (13:11):
And what it's going to take is.

Speaker 9 (13:14):
A mature group, a focus group that understands the opportunity
that's in front of him.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Signing day was today as well, one of your favorite
days of the year. We're bringing in five new Bison
in the twenty sixth class.

Speaker 9 (13:25):
Yeah, I mere Max, you know, calling chance and oll
of her like you can't see my smile through the
through the camera or through the microphone here, Sam, But just.

Speaker 10 (13:35):
A great day.

Speaker 9 (13:36):
Like I think there's so many wrong things about college
basketball right now, and I'm not going to hide behind
those things. But one of the purities is still to me,
the high school recruiting and the development and not just
spending time with those recruits, but spending time with those families.
And Colin Stacks, you know, committed to us late, so
they he came up with his mother and father a

(13:57):
little bit later, but the other four were already committed,
and they were able to come up together and start
to form some relationships and bonds, and you know very
you know, different backgrounds from different locations and a bunch
of differences. But yet when when the groups, when the
group was around, you could just see them already starting
to gelling because you know, I think the common common
bond is you know, we're Bison, and there there's character there,

(14:18):
there's pride already.

Speaker 10 (14:19):
In those things.

Speaker 9 (14:19):
And yeah, we don't have enough time for me to
single each one out, but there's a group of guys
that at some point, hopefully sooner than later, are going
to be pretty successful Bison.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Yeah, very excited to see all five young men get
to campus here and rep the Green and Gold coach
Fourrey ramp Up wanted to give you a moment. We're
obviously thinking of Tom Lundy and his family.

Speaker 9 (14:39):
Yeah, again, I mentioned this at the signing day. I
think it's it's life, Sam, and you go through the
highs of winning last night, and then you turn around
and you celebrate a life where Tom Lundy a former
Bison and a great friend and an unbelievable person. You know,
we buried his father, Steve or is going to bury.

(15:00):
You know, the funeral was today. And then you turn
around and you have a signing date. You turn around,
you have another you know, another game. I think it's
important for all of us just to to have perspective
in in b be president and eatch and every moment
and certainly you know Marcus.

Speaker 10 (15:14):
And Tom and John and Emily and that family.

Speaker 9 (15:17):
Where we're with them and the these these are tough
times Steve's end of life. You know, there were some
struggles there and it wasn't it wasn't pretty there as
he was battling some uh dementia and some you know,
some some memory loss and those things.

Speaker 10 (15:32):
So that's never fun.

Speaker 9 (15:34):
But there's so many great memories for Tom and his
family to hang on to, and that's why we're going
to be there to support him.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Certainly, thinking of Tom and the Lundy family, Coach really
appreciate you taking the time, Thanks very much, and good
luck tonight.

Speaker 10 (15:44):
Appreciate you, Sam, thank you very much.

and you know you're going against a lower level opponent,
it's really easy to you know, start a little bit.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
Lacks of days, gold not be as engaged.

Speaker 5 (23:52):
As you normally would be, and you know, do some
uncharacteristic things on the floor, and you can get away
with some of that stuff against you know, their opponent,
and so it's really important to still do your game,
come out and execute. And obviously I've known coach Richmond
a really long time. He you know, he really keeps
an eye on that stuff. And you know, for a
good reason, you don't want to develop bad habits or

(24:14):
kind of get away from what you've been trying to
build towards. Right, and so in this game, you still
got to do what you do. Come out, you should
get up early. But then, you know, how do you
get better in a game like this? Take those leads
from ten to fifteen to twenty, Bill, don't let teams
claw back in rotate, stave fresh, go hard when you're
out there, and then you know, just keep doing your
thing and enjoy it.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
We talked about a partner.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
The Bison went with both Tomorrow, Wheeler Thomas and Andy
Stefano Wh's in the starting lineup. It'll be the same tonight.
One injury oe for the Bison. No Max Marley tonight.
He's dealing with an ankle injury, had a boot on
during warm up. Shouldn't be anything long term, so hopefully
we'll get Max back here soon. But you had those
two point guards in the lineup, and they did really
well last night. As we talked about in the open,

(24:56):
what did you see there with both Tomorrow and Andy on
the floor same time.

Speaker 5 (25:01):
Yeah, I mean, good spacing, good job getting another guys
set up, but also it helps DYSU get their pace
going right. And I think that the beauty of that
lineup is that it kind of gives you flexibility. Where
you know, when teams have their same five every single time,
and then it's like, you know that this guy's gonna
come in, and then this guy's gonna come in, you're
kind of stuck right that, like that's.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
Your rotation and you're gonna grind through it.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
But what this gives you is some flexibility, so you
can start this game with both the guys, with both
these guys out there, you know, maybe Andy comes out
and gets a little hot, well, then Tomorrow is the
first one to take some win, and then him and
then they start rotating from.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
There, or you know, vice versa.

Speaker 5 (25:38):
Tomorrow, Wheeler Thomas has a great start. Well, then you
take Andy out first and then you kind of you know,
that's what's gonna kind of determine your rotation. You can
see how things are going early and make some adjustments
from there. So that's a really nice tool to have
as well.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Second straight ight, here come the Bison NDSU out of
the locker room, getting up some last warm up shots
before the at things off against the Saints of Saint Scholastica.
Let's pause ten seconds for station identification. You're listening to
Bison basketball. Sam Meteran and Dexter Warner with you courtside

(26:24):
as we get set for another night a Bison basketball.
It's NDYSU hosting Saint Scholastica. Does the Bison look to
make it back to back wins and improved it two
and two on the season. Let's check some other keys
to the game here, Dex, we'll go quick one offense.
On defense? What are you looking at tonight for in DSU, Sam,

(26:44):
I'm keeping it easy for you.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
On offense.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Make some shots, Okay, I've said it before, game like this,
Get them up, get comfortable shooting that three, because we've
got to start making some so and offensively get them up.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
And put him in the hole.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
Defensively, don't teams like this hang around, right, you're supposed
to win. You're supposed to go up big finished possessions.
Do a good job on the glass, do the thing.
Keep those guys low totals on the points. So that's
all offensively.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
You got to make some baskets about defensively tonight, my friend,
we saw this group force twenty one turnovers against Sea
Sun last night.

Speaker 5 (27:19):
Yeah, keep doing that and get comfortable with it. Right,
exactly like we just talked about for a key, don't
be lacks of daisical.

Speaker 4 (27:26):
Do what you do.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
These guys got to crank up the pressure. See how
many times you can turn these guys over. That's great practice.
You're gonna see some different situations. Keep getting comfortable with
applying that pressure on the defensive end, no doubt about it,
my friend.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
We just saw Dave Richmond and the coaching stam come
out of the locker room. Coach Richmond coming over to
the sideline here. President Cook is in the house, Bison
President to just announce yesterday he's accepted the position as
the president at Iowa State University and They'll be starting
there on March the first this coming spring, so a

(28:01):
bittersweet congratulations to President Cook and doctor Kats. They'll wrap
up their time here at NDSU and then go back
home to Ames.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
That's where they're from.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
A's President Cook's alma mater, so good to see him
back inside the shields Inder tonight, always here courtside watching
and supporting for Bison basketball. Bison getting their warm up
shots up. They'll be wearing the all gold uniforms tonight
at home. Gold uniforms on top of gold pants the
green warmup shirt as well. Meanwhile, Saint Scholastica wearing the

(28:36):
all blue look with some gold and lighter blue trip.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Kind of like Marquette if you will.

Speaker 2 (28:42):

the Mayac Division III Minnesota Intercalechia Athletic Conference. Jared Drake

eighty four to seventy over Minnesota Morris. The player to
watch tonight for the Saints will lead the way is

had a grand total of eight points, eleven rebounds, and
six steals last.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Night in a big time defensive effort for the Bison.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Meanwhile, the fourth guard Markuais Stricklin tell us some foul
trouble last night, still managed to put up fourteen points.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
He's averaging sixteen.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
Per game through Dyasu's verse three six foot six senior
from Miami, Florida. And the center is Noah Federson thirteen
point seven boards, six blocks, decks, so the first time
that any but he's had six blocks in the game
since you had six blocks back in twenty fifteen against
Montana State.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
So how about that for Noah.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
Six only the best get that done? Sam, Hey, great game, great?

Speaker 5 (34:11):
I mean six blocks for Noah six steals, right, I mean,
these guys have a really good defensive game last night,
so I'd love to see.

Speaker 4 (34:19):
Their feat that again tonight. Huge.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Dave Rinchman, the head coach for the Bison in his
twelfth season two hundred and twelve wins, second winning as
coach in program history. Meanwhile, for the Saints of Saint Scholastica,
they sound like this Cooy Nelson at one guard five

Speaker 2 (35:25):
Man crew as we're ready again for basketball here in Fargo.
The Bison in all gold, Saint Scholastica in blue, trimmed
in gold, ready to jump. Center Key cow up against Enderson,
balls in the air, and the Bison win the opening
tamp and they've got it, moving from right to left.
Andy Sefanowitz at the point, picked up by Nelson Manda

(35:46):
Man defense as he pitches out to Wheeler. Thomas finds
Carson left wing, drives down, puts up the right hand, lamup,
no good rebound foot four and secured by Raymond An
early missed for the Bison, and here comes Saint Scholastica.
They move from left to right as you listen Mann
Man defense by the Bison that had fourteen steels last night,
forcing twenty one turnovers against Seasun. Here's Thompson circling around

(36:09):
the arc over the left side, working on Stefanowitz over
to Nelson on the right wing. Nelson's still with it.
Top of the key for key Cow, left wing for Butler.
Shot clocked down to four. Butler inside for key Cow
drives inside of it, blocked away, punched away by Pederson.
He picks up right where he left off. He's got
his first block. Bison the other way, Strickling with the

(36:31):
right hand layup, got the role. It is good, good
for Markai, Strickling and the Bison. But hang on a second,
Markai landed funny on his ankle, and he is skipping
his way all the way from the back court to
the Bison bench in some pain. So hopefully Markai will
be all right. You hate to see that early on

(36:51):
at this what he is still hopping back behind the
bench into the tunnel. He gets the first basket, binds
it up two to nothing. Here's Raymond for three. No good.
The rebound knocked around on the rebound taken to the
corner by Wheeler Thomas for the Bison up ahead for
Carson Smith had it deflected by Thompson and out of

(37:12):
bounds on the Saint Scholastica bench. Hopefully Mark Kai was
all right. You hate to see that early on in
this game for the Bason.

Speaker 5 (37:19):
Yeah, it kind of looked like he maybe just stepped
on an ankle. Hopefully a quick tweak. Sometimes he's got
to keep moving, get back there, get some tape on it,
and honestly, the best thing you can do is, you know,
maybe get back in there and keep that thing loose.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
Right, keep some movement on it.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
Here's Carson underneath, dumps it for Carson Smith and he
knocks it home with the right hand. Layup, Trayveon Carson
to Carson Smith, Carson to Carson. The Bison lead at
four to nothing early eighteen twenty six, remaining in the
half and a steal by Wheeler Thomas. It's picked up
by Trayveon Carson. He attacks into the lane, working on

(37:53):
the left side of the block, throws it out for
Wheeler Thomas right wing Smith. Smith hooks it back to Wheeler.
Thomas attacks right baseline, puts it up from eight feet
no good off the glass rebound poked out of bounds
and off of Raymond and Saint Scholastica. Last time out
taken by Saint Scholastica with eighteen ten remaining in the

(38:17):
half and we will keep it right here thirty second

Speaker 1 (38:50):

Speaker 2 (38:51):
Marquis Strickland has emerged from the tunnel and he is
on the bench now adjusting his left sock like he
got a brace or something to protect his ankle.

Speaker 11 (39:03):
There.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
We'll keep you updated as we hear more.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Treveon Carson on the block, puts it up, banks it
in TC with the basket, and then the su off
to a quick six nothing start. Just over two minutes
gone to the opening half. Here's Nelson handing it off
on the left wing for Raymond up top for key
Cow he hands it off for Thompson left wing. Raymond
or Nelson rather had it stripped on his way up

(39:26):
stolen by Stefanowitz.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
Here come the Bison.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Stefanowitz drives in right hand, layup high off glass, no
good rebound by Key Cow bounces the outlet to Butler,
had it deflected by stefano Witz, and the Bison take
it off the turnover wheeler. Thomas trying to work up
the floor in a whistle for a foul on Davey
on Butler first on deveyon Butler first on Saint Scholastica

(39:48):
and the Bison lookie possession leaning it six nothing early.
Stefano Witz into the front court high on the right side,
top of the key wheeler, Thomas left wing, Carson top
of the key Pederson left wing wheeler. Thomas driving hands

(40:08):
off to Carson, swooping into the left block, posting up
now because he works into the lane, jumps up, puts
it up the right hand and got it to go
off the heeling end. Training on Carson with four points
of the early going, buysing her off to an eight
to nothing start just under three minutes gone in.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
The first half.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Nelson, weaving out top drives with the right hand, working
on Carson out top for Thompson left wing. He finds
Draylan Jones, who's checked in off the bench. Shot fake
by Nelson, bounces inside for Jones in the paint fakes left,
goes up Bright no good off the underside of the backboard,
and the rebound taken by the Bison wheeler Thomas had
it spurret off of his thigh fall is still loose

(40:46):
and is taken by Nelson. Frisbee's ahead for Jones, and
Jones lays it home for the first points of the
game for Saint Scholastica eight to two. After the ball
was up for grabs in the middle of the floor,
Bison Lee cut down to six.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
Here's Stefano WIT's on the right wing.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
Stefano Witz driving into the lane, drops it off for
Smith underneath the basket. Smith pounding the dribble, working for space,
puts it up on the right hand. No good rebound
batted around and at a bounce off of Travion Carson last,
it'll go the other way to Saint Scholastica and.

Speaker 5 (41:19):
They actually call the foul on Trevion there, so first
one for him.

Speaker 1 (41:23):
One first on TC.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
First on the Bison sixteen sixteen remaining in the half,
buies it off to an eight to two lead, Saint
Scholastica and a Duluth Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (41:33):
From left to right.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
As you listen up top, here's Jones spinning around working
to the right wing, hands it off and they work
it around the perimeter underneath for a key Cow. He
had it blocked by Trays and Anderson, and here come
the Bison from right to left. Carson working his way
right wing, Wheeler, Thomas tomp of the Key, Anderson left wing,

(41:57):
and Stefano Whitz stefanal Witz lops it up stars Anderson
tried to catch it, but he gets knocked on the
arm by Keykow and that's a foul as it brings
us to the under sixteen media timeout. Valon Aeron Keekel
his first and the team's second. Trayson Anderson at the
line when we come back, Bison up eight to two,
fifteen forty five remaining in the first half.

right side, Jones on the right wing, Jones working the
left hand dribble, hands it off for Brown, Brown working
between the lakes, splits defenders, tosses it out for key
Cow rejected from behind by Anderson, big block by the
Bison big man. Here comes Carson kick Smith another three

(45:50):

Carson Smith knocks it down. Is eighth point and a
half in the Bison lead at sixteen to two.

Speaker 5 (46:04):
And that's a great sign for India's USAN to see
a couple of those triples start falling early.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Yeah, I gotta love it for Carson Smith. Three for
his first four. Bison coaching staff really excited about the
six foot six Richard freshman from Bountiful, Utah. Here's teckle
Merriam left of the keys, step back three, no good
rebound batted out by Anderson in the hands of Smith.
Zips it ahead for Carson, pitches back for Smith. He
wants another, He got another. He knocks down his third. Three.

Speaker 1 (46:32):

Speaker 2 (46:35):
He's got eleven points and the Bison lead at nineteen
to two. Eleven nothing run Nelson's runner, no good rebound
by Anderson, and here come the Ison on the break.
Stefanowitz driving in lost it out of bounds. It'll be
off of Saint SCHOLASTICA last, how about Carson Smith. Byson

(46:59):
could have by at three in the first couple games
of the year. Now he's got three in a row.
As he goes to the bench, well.

Speaker 5 (47:04):
I think even after that last one coach drink for
Saints Glasgow was double checking his scout that he had
in his pocket. He was like, wait a minute, these
guys are knocking down threes like that. Good start for
NDSU from downtown.

Speaker 2 (47:16):
Yeah, Carson Smith three for three, Byson three or four
as a team, Wheeler Thomas corner three, Yes, Sir Tomorrow.
Wheeler Thomas knocks it down. He gets in on the
three point hot streak. It's now fourteen in a row
for the Bison overall on this run, and they laid
it twenty two to two, twelve thirty nine remaining in

(47:38):
the opening half. Here's Raymond driver or Butler rather, driving
in pull up jumper from the foul line. Was short
of the rebound by Federson. Wheeler Thomas into the front court,
finds Federson top of the key, drives in left hand,

and it's now sixteen nothing run for the Bison. They
lead it twenty four to two. Saint Scolastica struggling offensively,

(48:02):

on a sixteen nothing run right now, leading Saint Scholastica
twenty four to two, and Saint Scholastica comes out in
the front court right, trying to get something going offensively.

(50:31):
Here's Barney out, Tom finds Butler hands it off on
the left wing for Carols. Back to Barney. Five on
a timer. Barney picks up his dribble, swings it for
Carrols two on a timer, shuffles into a three and
he drains it. Carrol's knocks down the three and then'll
stump the bleeding of a near five minute scoring drought
for the Saints. They're back within nineteen twenty four to five.

(50:54):
Here's Strickland right sideline.

Speaker 1 (50:56):
For the Bison.

Speaker 2 (50:56):
Good to see Markai back in after tweaking his ankle
early with the key wheeler. Thomas, driving around defenders, kicks
out massy corner three short off the front of the
ram backside rebound by Strickland, though sizing up, Brown puts
it up on the right hand and scores. Mark Markui
Strickland with four points. Now a nice offensive rebound of
the second chance points. I will make it twenty six

(51:18):
to five bys in eleven minutes remaining in the half.
Top of the key, Barney, He'll launch a three and
each rains it. Connor Barney knocks down the three twenty
six to eight and NDSU with it the other way with.

Speaker 1 (51:35):
The early lead.

Speaker 2 (51:36):
Here's Massy Massy with the left hand dribble, driving in,
spinning around, working in the lane, fakes one way turn around,
fight or the.

Speaker 1 (51:43):
Other, and he knocks it down.

Speaker 2 (51:45):
Riley Massy with his first career basket as a Bison man.
That'll put the Bison back up by twenty twenty eight
to eight Brown right of the key high left sign
for Barney. Barney shaking around with a crossover dribble switched
on to by Pederson, attacks down the lane, had its
stripped away by Massy. Ball rolls out of bounds off

(52:08):
of Saint Scholastica last their fifth turnover of the early going.
The Bison will take over with ten to twelve re
milling of.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
The half.

Speaker 5 (52:18):
And again not quite as many turnovers to start, but
NDISU really active with the hands. There's been a lot
of deflections, a couple of them just bounced back to
the Saints, but overall again good activity on defense from NDSU.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
Early ten oh six remaining in the half twenty point
leaf of the Bison, heres Wheeler Thomas working his way
to the lane, back door bounce past to Carson kicks
it out for Massie right wing, three off the room
and glass no good offensive rebound Carson outside Wheeler Thomas.
He'll try it three rim Glass miss again and the
rebound controlled by Cloose. Saint Scholastica clears and they work

(52:52):
into the front court right. Bison up twenty eight to eight.
Here is Butler kicking in the corner corner. Three air
ball off the shot by Carrols and Massie comes up
with the rebound for the Bison. Massy tracking into the
front court, drives the lane, pitches the Wheeler Thomas open
three yes tomorrow Wheeler Thomas when is second three pointer

(53:13):
of the half, the fifth for the Bison overall, and
it's a good starting from downtown for the Bison. They
lead at thirty one to eight, nine to eleven remaining
in the opening half. Here's Barney working over the left
wing top of the Key, gets it down top to
close right side Butler right corner cluse entry pass for Key,

(53:36):
cow down to the post, met by a double team
bounce past for Barney and that one goes out of
bounds on the Bison bench. Another turnover by the Saints
and the Bison will take it with a fifty six
remaining in the half. Bison are heating up. Just like
the team at Brian Heating and Cooling. Brian Dealers are
committed to doing whatever it takes to keep your home

(53:58):
cozy and comfortable. The Bison heat Up brought to you
by your local Bryant Deeelers. Eight point fifty one remaining
in the half. Bison up thirty one to eight. Trayson
Anderson working his way down a left block, working on
Thompson's shouldering him in to the paint, hard jump stop,
dumps it inside for Smith, lays it home for two.
Good feed by Trayson Anderson, and the strong first half

(54:19):
continues for Carson Smith. He leaves the Bison with thirteen
points thirty three to eight NDSU.

Speaker 5 (54:24):
Yeah and that's a nice soft dropdown from a big
guy there, Sam Yeah, good fee there by Anderson abasket
at the other end for the Saints and they come
back within twenty three thirty three to ten our score
eight eighteen remaining Wheeler Thomas drops it inside, Steph Fanowitz
with a layup Wheeler Thomas with a dime and Steff
Fanowitz with his first points.

Speaker 2 (54:46):
Too easy for the Bison. Right now up thirty five
to ten. Saint Scholaska at the other end with Barney
on the left elbow, left wing close out top for
key Cow works around the right side of the now
pivots and looks for a pass. Clears to Thompson top
of the key Butler check Funck down to seven. Butler

(55:06):
with six, Butler circling in horrid jump stop kicks to
clues left corner, three line. Here, I've been short and
rebound by key Cow. He's got it in the paint,
puts it up with the right hand. Good Aaron Keekow,
who averaged twelve points a year ago for the Saints.
He puts home to put back his first points of
the ball game to make it thirty five to twelve,

(55:28):
seven twenty eight remaining.

Speaker 1 (55:29):
Of the halves.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
The final it's a lob Anderson trying to go upstairs
for the alley loop, but not before he got fouled
by geek Cow. That'll be his second and the team's third,
and that brings us to the under eight media timeout.
Trayson Anderson at the line when we returned seven to
twenty five remaining of the half, breaking the action with
our score the Bison thirty five Saint Scholastica twelve. This

His second block of the game.

Speaker 2 (59:30):
He had six of them last night against cal State Northridge,
and he just erased another one there.

Speaker 5 (59:37):
Yeah, I would imagine you're not seeing too many guys
built like Noah Federson in the MIAC. You go down
the lane, drive hard like that. Usually got a little
more space to operate.

Speaker 2 (59:46):
Yeah, usually, Now run it into six ten two forty five.
Here's Butler where the inbound bounces it for Thompson, throws
up the lay up, no good rebound. Train me on Carson,
and here come the Bison from right to left. Carson
driving in, puts it up for rejected by key Cow.
Rebound in the hands up Butler Daveyon. Butler at a

Federson tossing back to Trevion Carson deals to Wheeler Thomas
left wing, Pederson Betterson one on one.

Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
With key Cow.

Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Had it knocked away on the dribble and key Cow
with a steel drives into the lane, goes up with
a euro step, kicks out for Butler, trailing top of
the key thought about the three, but then passes up
for Thompson, lomps it inside for key Cow. He puts
it another the left hand short rebound contested and scooped
up by Smith. Here comes the Bison from right to
left with a twenty two point lead. Scoot Wheeler Thomas

(01:00:52):
behind the back dribble back to Scoota. Not thinking about
the three now he'll attack off the bounce back outside
of Wheeler Thomas. Wheeler Tom I'm working into the lane,
shovels it out for Smith, deep three on the way,
rattles it in good.

Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
Tay.

Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
Smith knocks down the six three and a half for
the bison and NDSU's got the lead up to twenty
five forty two to twenty or seventeen.

Speaker 5 (01:01:17):
And that's another one in Tay Smith where you want
to see him get a couple of those threes to go.
Had a tough shooting night the first couple of games,
and last night. Good to see him knocking them down
as well.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
Yeah, came into the preseason as the best three point
shooter that NDSU had. Off to a little bit of
a slow start. Let's see if you can keep it
up here. Five to shoot for Saint Scholaska. Thompson fires
a three off the front of the rim, No good.
Rebound by Pederson, up ahead for Wheeler. Thomas throws it
back for Smith. Wants another from the left wing, no good,
and the raybound trickles on the baseline out of the bounds,

(01:01:48):
will be off.

Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
Of the Bison.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
Last Tay trying to get another one, came up just short.
The Division two transfer from Lenore Rhyne School located in Hickory,
North Carolina, his final year of eligibility and he's using
it with the Bison. Twenty three years old, one of
the older guys in the locker room now for DSU.

(01:02:13):
Four h five remaining of the half. We're up by
twenty five. Here's Teckle Mariam on the perimeter, hands it
off around the perimeter, they go to Nelson. Nelson with
a shot clock winding down to eleven had it sought
away by Smith and he deflected it just a little
too hard. Otherwise he would have had the runway to
get cleared off for a dunk.

Speaker 4 (01:02:34):
Instead.

Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
It'll be Saint Scholastica.

Speaker 2 (01:02:36):

Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
Sam Niederman Dexter Warner with you Court signed Buyson are
up forty two to seventeen on Saint Scholastica, with three
point fifty three remaining in the opening half. Buys it
in all gold, Saint Scholastka in blue trimmed in gold.
Think Marquette and they inbounded here with nine to shoot,
but not before a whistle and an offensive foul on

(01:04:34):
Saint Scholastka.

Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
All right, I beg your pardon.

Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
They just stepped down the mounds on the sideline, so
NDSU will take it. Another turnover by the Saints. Their
turnover count continues to rack up. They're all already up
to six on the day. Anderson, working in the post,
puts it on the right hand, cut it a little
short off the glass, but he gets fouled once again.

(01:05:04):
Pal goes on Paul Harris, that's his first team's fourth
and trays and Anderson back at the line. He's off
to a solid start. Decks mentioned he had ten rebounds
last night against Sea Sun does not get the role
on his first free throw, but he matched his career
high ten points against Oregon State in the opener last Monday.

Speaker 4 (01:05:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:05:27):
I mean, just like we talked about that, that's a
young man with a lot of potential. He's got the
frame to play down low.

Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
In this league.

Speaker 5 (01:05:34):
I'd love to see him keep getting comfortable misses both
free throws.

Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
Saints Scholaska with a rebound three and a half minute
mark first half forty two seventeen buys him with the lead.
Nelson in a trap needs some help, skips it over
to Harris, and it was coming in hot, a little
too hot. It goes out of Bound's another turnover by
the Saints. I thought President Cook was about to get
a jumper up there that was coming his way buys

(01:05:59):
him by twenty three nineteen, remaining in the half, Massy
out of the left wing top of the key. Wheeler Thomas,
looking for a separation, dribbles off his foot, hustled by Nelson,
dives on the floor for the ball up ahead for Harris,
and he lays it home with the right hand good
forty two to nineteen. Saint Scholastica back within twenty three,

(01:06:21):
under three minutes remaining in the half. Here's Anderson down
on a double team lost it at a bounds and
I'll go the other way to Saint scholasticap Bisen will
submen four new players for the original starters tomorrow, Wheeler
Thomas will stay out on the floors.

Speaker 1 (01:06:36):
That means the original five.

Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
Andy Stefano, Witch, Trebon, Carsondoa, Pederson, Marquis Strickland all back
into the game for NDSU. Nelson bringing it across the floor,
he drives to the right wing, switches back left, tosses
over to Jones Jones step back long two on the way,
barely grazes the lip of the rimdo good rebound stefinal
wits up ahead for Strickland, serving in side Wheeler Thomas

(01:07:01):
scood with a layup on the right side. Good fine
by Strickland. Eighth point for Wheeler Thomas. Forty four to
nineteen in favor of the Bison. And that's the perfect
possession for the types of plays ny as he needs
to make in this game. Anybody can take somebody off
the derbbil one on one in these matchups, but you
got to keep getting looks within you, within your system

(01:07:22):
and make good plays steel Wheeler Thomas tosses back for Strickland.
Then he goes up for the layup on the left side.
Good a steal by Namari and Marcy with a layup.
He might have been thinking dunk, but nevertheless it's still
worth two forty six to nineteen. Bison one fifty six.
Winding down in the half, Bison stretching the lead of

(01:07:43):
twenty seven. A floater by Harris wiled off the glass.
No good rebound taking by Wheeler Thomas. Here come the
Bison in the front court. Carson driving kicking Stefano Witz
inside Federson, left.

Speaker 1 (01:07:55):
Hand layup, no good rebound, pulled down by Jones.

Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
Jones leading the break right down main Street, tosses off
to Harris Hard jumps up right handshot, no good rebound
taken by Carson. Here come to the Bison. Stefanowitz across
the timeline, settles up on the right elbow inside Strickland
lay up good Marcai Strickland with his eighth point on
the ballgame, Mandy Stefanowitz with his second assist, and the

(01:08:19):
Bison had their largest lead of the half so far,
forty eight nineteen up by twenty nine one twelve remaining
before the break. Here's Jones circling around on the right
wing top of the key. Bounced pass for Raymond. Raymond
hands it off for Nelson ten on the timer. Nelson
needs some help, goes it over for Jones on the
right wing. Six on the timer, right corner. Thompson by

(01:08:40):
a whistle, he stepped out of bounds and that'll send
it the other way to NDSU fans. Coming up next
the Petro Serve USA halftime Show. We'll have stats analysis
and some first half highlights. That's all coming up next
on the Petro Serve USA halftime show. Petro Serve USA,

(01:09:01):
the official convenience store buys in athletics fifty six seconds
to go before the break, buys it up forty eight
to nineteen. Stefano Witz breaks the timeline, picked up by Thompson,
hands it off to Stricklet right of the key Fenderson. Federson,
driving down hard on the baseline, puts it up in
scores No on. Fenderson with his fourth point and a

(01:09:23):
quick time out taking as the Bison at the fifty
point mark here on the first half, they're up fifteen
to nineteen with forty four point five seconds remaining in
the half.

Speaker 5 (01:09:36):
It's sam I like this timeout from coach Richmond just
because it's an opportunity to practice your two for one scenario,
right Indiesue just gets a bucket forty five seconds left,
You call the time out. Come down, You're gonna have
time to come down for one more possession. You call
the time out here, you plan to execute it. Let's
see if any as you can execute here. Got to
get this stomp and then try and get the score.

Speaker 2 (01:09:57):
The types of things that you work on here this
time game and the Bison taking on Saint Scholastica out
of Division three, coming off of a twenty two point
victory last night in DSU won ninety to sixty eight
over cal State Northridge. It was a tail of two
hams and that one Bison got off to a slow
start down by three.

Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
And a half time.

Speaker 2 (01:10:19):
They outscored cal State Northwards sixty to thirty five in
the second half, and so far it's been smooth sailing
in half number one, Let's say that the Bison can
get the two for one. Here's Brown hadn't poked away
by Strickland. Brown being pestered, still throws it over on
the left side for Thompson.

Speaker 1 (01:10:36):
Top of the key.

Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
Close spinning of the foul line, right wing now for Brown.
Shot clocked down to ten game clock at twenty three
seconds Butler on the right wing. Butler step back shuffle,
gives it up for Thompson with five to shoot inside
for clues, puts it up Man It was blocked by Fenderson.
Noah's got it and he tussles for it. Bets it's
still into the corner. Play taken by Butler, who tripped

(01:10:59):
over himself, but a whistle for a foul on the Bison.
So Noah got the block his third of the half,
but unfortunately trying to corral the ricochet dove in front
of our broadcast vantage point and then trying.

Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
To bat it back into the middle of the floor
and st. Scholaska picked it up.

Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
They've got it with nine point eight remaining of the half,
inbound to Butler seven seconds and his shot blocked by Carson.
And now a whistle as they're gonna get Trevion Carson
for a hack on the arm as Butler was trying
to elevate for the three pointer. Second on TC, fourth

(01:11:41):
on the Bison, and this is going to get Butler
three shots.

Speaker 5 (01:11:46):
That almost looked like a clean block, and then Trayvian
got grabbed on the way down. I don't really know
how that translates into a shooting foul and a late
one at that.

Speaker 1 (01:11:55):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
One of our officials talking to Dave Richmond, he might
have just said, hey, that's my bad, I messed that one.
Butler ball in live misses the first free through five
seconds remaining on the game clock. Bison up fifty to
nineteen here in half number one, Butler at the line
right three out of five on the year at the
charity stripe, make it three out of six he misses

(01:12:16):
the second one short. Is he gonna miss all three?
Bison will have time if they get the rebound. Butler
bends and knees puts it up. Got the set or
the third one and that makes it fifty to twenty
five seconds even remaining in half number one, Stefanowitz will

(01:12:38):
inbound for the Bison. Here we go the inbound deflected
by Butler out of bounds of the Bison bench. With
three point eight remaining, Stefanowitz will now inbound in front
of the bench. See if the Bison can get organized.
Another good situation to practice three point eight. It comes
to Wheeler Thomas across the timeline. With one second, heaves
a three short off the front of the rim and

(01:13:02):
the Bison going to the halftime locker room still with
a thirty point lead. All Bison here in half number
one against Saint Scholastka in ESU up fifty to twenty
at the break. Petro Serve USA halftime show coming up next.

lane Stefanowitz right wing, Tay Smith. Tay drives in kicks
for Carson Smith left corner. Three, rattles it in Smith
to Smith for the three pointer. Tay with the assist,
Carson with the knockdown, and the Byson laid it thirteen
to two early. We'd hear a few more from Smith
to Smith. Stay tuned for that, but it was Carson Smith.

Speaker 4 (01:16:51):
You would continue to get.

Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
Hot one three wasn't good enough. You would get a second.

Speaker 2 (01:16:56):
Between the lakes what's the fenders tosses it out for Key,
cold from behind by Anderson, big block by the Bison.

Speaker 4 (01:17:03):
Big man.

Speaker 2 (01:17:03):
Here comes Carson kicks Smith another three left side. Yes,
he splashes it his second in a row. Carson Smith
knocks it down his eighth point and a half and
the Byson lead at sixteen to two. Two threes in
a row for Carson Smith. It was an eight nothing
run for the Bison at that point. Third times a charm,

(01:17:27):
that's what we say. Well, Carson will continue and he
would make it a trifecta from three point land here's
Teckle Mariam left of the Keys, step back three no
good rebound batted out by Anderson in the hands of Smith,
zips it ahead for Carson, pitches back for Smith. He
wants another, He got another. He knocks down his third three.
Carson Smith heating up here in Fargo. He's got eleven

(01:17:51):
points and the Bison lead at nineteen to two. Carson
Smith coming to life, the player red shirted last year
as a freshman for the Bison. Already up to thirteen
points in the first half, Bison would camp off that
run at sixteen to nothing, up twenty four to two.
Saints Scholastica. The Saints would keep marching and they would

Speaker 2 (01:18:22):

half last yesterday, including a three pointer for Tay Smith
back outside of Wheeler Thomas. Wheeler Thomas working into the lane,
shovels it out for Smith deep three on the way,
rattles it in good Tay Smith knocks down the six
three and a half for the Bison and NDSU's got

(01:18:44):
the lead up to twenty five forty two to seventeen.
Tay Smith knocking down the three Tomorrow Wheeler Thomas one

fifty to twenty on the Coach's Choice scoreboard. Sam Niederman
Dexter Warner with you. Let's take a look at our
first half sacks. The Bison led by Carson Smith thirteen points,
three three pointers, five of six on the floor. Overall,
Marchais Strickland eight points in the game on a perfect

four of four shooting. Good to see Mark Kai getting

Speaker 1 (01:22:02):

Speaker 2 (01:22:05):
Wheeler Thomas eight points, three assists, Tremon Carson six points,
six rebounds and three assists along with a steal. Noah
Betterson four points, three rebounds and four blocks on the game,
would need three more blocks to tie the program single
game record, which is seven. Meanwhile, five points from Tay
Smith he knocked down a three point or two points,

(01:22:27):
and a couple of rebounds from Terase and Anderson. Bison
shot sixty one percent from the floor twenty one out
of thirty four fifty percent from three, six out of twelve,
two out of four at the foul line. Meanwhile, the
Bison turned over Saint Scolastka nine times, thirteen points off
of those nine turnovers five steals on the game for

(01:22:47):
the Bison, five blocks. Saint s Glaska only shooting twenty
five percent eight out of thirty two from the floor,
three out of ten from three point range thirty percent,
and one out of three at the free throw line.

Welcome back to the Shield, center of the Vision with
a halftime lead of thirty points over Saint Scholaska for
fIF beat to twenty on the Coach's Choice scoreboard. Joint
courtside now by assistant coach Luke Stragi Coach Dragie Good
half in the first twenty minutes, what you see.

Speaker 9 (01:25:31):
I saw the ball go in, which was exciting.

Speaker 29 (01:25:34):
Uh.

Speaker 34 (01:25:34):
We we just were relentless at the rim. You know,
we even missed some that we should probably have. And
then as the half goes on, you know, we we
kind of settled a little bit defensively. I thought we
were very very aggressive early, getting some steals getting out
of transition, and we just got to convert those a
little bit better. But it was exciting to see the
ball go in, especially there early in the first half.

Speaker 5 (01:25:53):
Coach, a game like this where you go up thirty
in the first half and in the halftime, you know,
what's your message for the guys offensively, defensively, intensity levels?

Speaker 4 (01:26:01):
What are you looking for?

Speaker 34 (01:26:02):
Yeah, these games aren't really about the opponent, you know,
they're about us, and we're a work in progress, as
you guys have seen and I think that's just college
basketball now. Every year is different. We're still trying to
find ourselves, especially offense, and we have no real idea
of who we are yet. So these minutes are important
for us. And then there'll be ten to fifteen minutes
great minutes here for the guys that don't play a

(01:26:23):
ton off the bench as well to kind of try
and to find their way in college basketball. Kid like
Riley Massey, who's got back from sickness as a freshman,
is going to get some minutes here. Trace and Anderson. God,
it didn't play much last year, so these minutes are
very important. It's more about us than it is about
the opponent. But we just want to continue to do
good things and then and see the ball with.

Speaker 1 (01:26:40):
Coach appreciated time, good luck second half.

Speaker 2 (01:26:43):

Speaker 1 (01:27:47):

and the Bison.

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
Trying to take down on Saint Scholastica and of Duluth Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (01:28:05):
Division three team.

Speaker 2 (01:28:07):
Before we get the second half underway, let's pause ten
seconds for station identification. You're listening to Buyson Basketball, Stefano
Witz Wheeler, Thomas Strickland, Carson and Venderson the five on

(01:28:30):
the floor for NDESU. Meanwhile, Saint Scholastica will come out
with Raymond Butler, Nelson, Thompson and Key Col their original
starting five as well Bison and Gold Saint Skolaska in blue.
And we're underway here in half number two. The Bison
up by thirty and they defend Manda Band to the
front court. Left here is Nelson the point guard, but

(01:28:53):
up before a whistle because the shot clock never started,
We're gonna put twenty two two seconds on it. Game
clock currently reads nineteen fifty two. You got twenty two
the correct number on the shot clock, and Saint Scholastka
will inbound from the sideline, Thompson to trigger in Wheeler
Thomas guarding him, extending the hands. They throw it in

(01:29:16):
and a whistle for a foul on Trevion Carson as
he is right on top of Nelson. That's gonna be
the third on TC first on NBSU here in half
number two. Bison definitely have been much more aggressive defending
the inbounds to start this year. Butler inbounding for the
right baseline, Lomson in for Key Cal right founl line

(01:29:39):
extended gives it up for Butler. Butler getting hedged down
by Feederson, throws it into traffic. It's taken by Thompson
inside for Key Caw got a man in the air,
had it swatting away by Fetterson. The block party continues
for Feederson, it's his fifth Stefanowitz now into the front court,
back door bounce for Carson outside for Strickland, hops in
the lane, puts it up on the right hand. Got

(01:29:59):
it it, count it plus the foul Markai Strickland and
one opportunity and he'll go to the line for the
potential three point play.

Speaker 1 (01:30:10):
The Bison leady at fifty two to twenty. Nice job.

Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
It all started with the block by Federson, and then
Markay knocks down the free through fifty three to twenty.
Byson lead it by twenty three with nineteen twenty seven remaining.
Here's Butler right to left, stomps on the right wing
and gives up to Nelson. Nelson driving down with the
left hand left side of the arc for Thompson. Thompson

(01:30:40):
driving in on Wheeler, Thomas underneath the basket opposite corner
Butler for three rattles halfway down and out. No good
in the rebound taking by Stefanowitz up ahead for Federson
driving in, lays.

Speaker 4 (01:30:50):
It up with the right hand.

Speaker 2 (01:30:51):
Good Noah Pederson with his sixth point. Andy Stefanowitz with
his third assist, and the Bison are up fifty six
or fifty five to twenty. Rather with eighteen fifty five
or man named Key Cal driving in and a whistle
for a foul on the Bison, they will get Andy Stefanowitz.

(01:31:12):
That's Andy's second and the team second here and half
number two Aaron kee Cal one for two at the
foul line this season. He has one for seven from
the floor in this game. The first free throw is
no good. Noe Fenderson's threatening for that single game block
record right now. It's got five of them.

Speaker 5 (01:31:34):
Yeah, let's get these reserves in here. Let's keep our
guy at six. Gotta preserve the record book. Key Cal
good on the second. That'll make it one out of two.

Speaker 2 (01:31:49):
The block shots record held by Nason or Jason Wenschlog,
who did in nineteen ninety one at South Dakota State
seven blocks of the game. Jason Wenchlog with that strickland
underneath and he hammers it down with the right hand
mar Kai. Strickland with another dunk and that's his thirteenth point.

(01:32:12):
Bison laid at fifty seven to twenty one. Raymond for three,
I miss off the rim and over the top of
the backboard.

Speaker 1 (01:32:20):
No good.

Speaker 28 (01:32:22):
Twenty four Now.

Speaker 2 (01:32:26):
Teckle Mariam comes in and Raymond goes to the bench
getting some advice from his head coach Jared Drake. Bison
with the lead by thirty six. Right now, fifty seven
to twenty one. Backdoor bounces or chess pass, I should
say for Strickland. Stefano wits with a nice fine that
is his fifth assist and Strickland quickly now with his

(01:32:50):
fifteenth point. He's got the lead for the Bison fifty
nine to twenty one. Nelson driving in at the other end,
spinning on the block, kicks it out. Nobody home, and
I think that's what driving into Noah Federson will do.
He did not know that, he didn't have anybody out
there on the perimeter, just threw it away for the turnover. Yeah,
I'd be looking to avoid that shop lock too, and

(01:33:12):
no one's got five of them right now six as
a team for NDSU fifty nine to twenty one. Stefano Witz,
driving in, throws it out for Willard Thomas sets the feet,
fires a three. He's got it, knocks it down tomorrow
willerd Thomas with his third triple of the game. Stefanowitz
starting to share all over the place with his sixth

(01:33:34):
assist and now it's sixty two to twenty one Bison.
Teckyl Marriam kicks it out Nelson driving pitching to Butler.
Butler throws it to Teckl Marriam on the left wing.
Driving in, puts it up on the right hand and
missed it. Rebound taking by Federson. Here come to Bison.
Stefanowitz driving across the timeline into the lane right hand layup,

(01:33:58):
no good rebound.

Speaker 1 (01:33:59):
Fut four and Key cal knocks it out of bounds off.

Speaker 11 (01:34:02):
Of the Bison.

Speaker 2 (01:34:03):
Last we're turning number Tason Anderson comes in and Noah
Pederson goes out with seventeen oh seven to play. Here
comes Butler driving in, scoops it up to the left hand.

(01:34:26):
Contest by Anderson. Layup was an airball. Now it's taking
by Stefanowitz brings it into the front court, stops on
the left elbow, pops it over for Strickland one handed
ketch on the right side of the arc, now posting
up on Teckyl Mariam left hand dribble outside Anderson tom
of the key. Three off the heel, No good a
rebound taken by Draylan Jones. Here he comes from right

(01:34:47):
to left, pitches back to Thompson top of the key, Butler,
Butler driving bouncing Teckyl Merriam inside for key cal and
that is out of bound. Actually a foul on the
bison and they'll get Marcus Strickland. That's Mark's first team's

(01:35:09):
third year and a half number two. That's a few
lessons this time last night. So happy to see that inbounds.
Comes to Tekel Marriam Strickland trying to hustle for it.
Tecle Mariam into the front court, gives it up for Butler.
Butler at the top of the key, tosses over to Thompson.
Shot funk down to seven. Thompson circling around, drives a

(01:35:31):
lane right hand floader off last no good rebound bat
it in the hands of Stefanowitz. Stefano Witz, waiting for options,
into the front court, zips it inside. Carson had it
knocked out of bounds by key Kew and it'll stay underneath.
With the Bison and DSU shooting sixty three percent on
eighteen assists as a team so far. Tonight, Stefano Witz

(01:35:53):
with six of them the inbounds left baseline, lobs it
in for Anderson, puts it up from four feet, missed it,
got his own mess put good trays and Anderson with
his fourth point sixty four to twenty one. Bison with
the lead. They're up by forty three with sixteen minutes remaining.

Speaker 5 (01:36:12):
And that's gonna be some of those learning moments for
a guy like Tracey Anderson too. You get you get
that inbound, you got to go and finish strong and
find a way to go through some contact.

Speaker 4 (01:36:19):
That's kind of that next step of toughness and aggression
for him.

Speaker 2 (01:36:22):
Offensive rebound key Caw put back no good, but he
does draw a whistle as he falls to the ground.
He'll go to the foul line and shoot two time
out on the floor. Fifteen thirty seven remaining in the
ball game and the break in the accent with our
score the Bison. He's sixty four Saint Scholastica twenty one.

Sam Peterman Dexter Warner with you court signed Bison with
the big lead. They're up by forty three at fifteen
thirty seven to play Saint Scholastica. At the free throw
line left Aaron Keekow, one of their better players, big
fella at six foot six, misses the first free throw.
Bison held him to three points tonight, he is one

(01:38:38):
of three at the foul line. Puts up the second
one and it's good. Sixty four to twenty two, forty
two point advantage for the Bison. And here's Stefanowitz from
left to right into the front court left found line extended,
Tom Lackey, Anderson right wing for Massy Massy in between

(01:38:59):
the between the legs dribble left wing, stefanal Witz pumps
up a three ring glass miss, no good rebound by
keykw and here come the Saints from right to left
in blue. Bison pick him up man de Manning gold
the hedge by Anderson and he knocks Butler right at
the timeline. Anderson saying, what did I do? Just the

(01:39:20):
bigger body right there with some contact, But they'll get
tracing on the fowl. That's the fifth on NDSU here
and a half number two first on Tracon.

Speaker 5 (01:39:29):
Yeah, I don't think you're seeing a hedge like that
coming off with too many ball screens in the Mayaki
either there, Sam.

Speaker 2 (01:39:34):
And bounce a Tecko, Mariam, it's stawn away by Smith
driving in, throws it back, Carson Smith, lay up good.

Speaker 1 (01:39:41):
Tay Smith's gotten the steel.

Speaker 2 (01:39:42):
Carson Smith with a layup, He's got fifteen points, and
that's sixty six twenty two. Bison Butler driving in eurostep
layup good. Nice moove by Daveyon Butler his fifth point,
sixty six to twenty four. Now Bison still have the
lead with fourteen forty remaining. Anderson left of the key,

(01:40:04):
Anderson driving down hard contact and an offensive foul on
Trayson Anderson charge taken by Draylen Jones. Second personal foul
on Trayson Anderson. Sixth on NDSU with fourteen thirty five remaining,
and now Saint Selaska will take over.

Speaker 5 (01:40:27):
And Sam, this is where you're kind of hitting like
the twilight zone on these games a little bit. I mean,
you're up forty two, still a lot of time left.
It can be difficult to stay engaged, but that's exactly
what Indiasu's gotta do.

Speaker 1 (01:40:38):
They swing it with Close hands it off to Brown.

Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
Brown driving in to a triple team lost it and
it is dug out by Stefano Witz steel for the Bison.
Stefano WIT's into the front court, beering into the lane,
throws underneath for Smith had it wrapped around, and then Brown,
who have the steel for a moment, stepped out of bounds.
The Bison will take it back. They'll inbound underneath the
basket sixty six twenty four buys in fourteen to ten

(01:41:09):
remaining Stefano, which pounces in for Massie, kicks out Smith
right wing three Carrom's out, no good rebound taken by
Close for Saint Scholastica comes into the front court top
of the key for Carol's. Carrol's hands it off for
Brown top of the key, Jones left wing. Barney Barney
with it working on Massy, kicks it out, almost got

(01:41:32):
stolen by Smith, but instead Brown with a little flowner
no good rebound into the hands of Stefano WIT's.

Speaker 1 (01:41:37):
Here come the Bison from left to right.

Speaker 2 (01:41:39):
Smith driving in and he is fouled by Draylen Jones
bow on Draylen Jones that will be his second Jones
or first second on the team for Saint Scholastic, and
now Carson Smith will go to the foul line. Fifteen
points for Smith tonight, a career high now for the

(01:42:02):
red shirt freshman, and we'll add onto it as he
knocks down the.

Speaker 1 (01:42:06):
First right throw. I'm waiting Thomas, Tamar Wheeler.

Speaker 2 (01:42:14):
Thomas noa Federson check back into the game for INDSU
thirteen forty one remaining. Here's Smith at the line right,
one of one on this trip, puts it up and
knocks it down sixty eight to twenty four. Byson Carson
Smith with seventeen points tonight, thirteen thirty seven remaining. Here's

(01:42:40):
Brown driving in, hands off to close, close, circling over
the left side of the lane, pivoting on Federson outside
for Barney. Barney picked up by Smith, crossover shaking bake three,
no good rebound, chased down by close banana bounds and
it'll be Buyson ball. With thirteen eighteen remaining in the ballgame,

(01:43:12):
Beederson out top, hands off for Wheeler, Thomas, Wheeler Thomas

Speaker 5 (01:43:35):
Clock, and again that's some of my little stuff, Sam,
you still got to execute the passing catch.

Speaker 4 (01:43:44):
Guys got to know that the Saints are going to
try to shoot passing away and try to make something happen.

Speaker 2 (01:43:49):
Tay Smith lofted a three at the shot clock buzzer,
but he got found on the play by Jaden Brown.
That'll be his first team third kick.

to see him get out here for some extended minutes.
Knocked on a couple shots. Let's see if he can
get another one. He has not missed from three point range.
He hit one last night. He's hit two for two

Speaker 1 (02:04:42):
Left wing.

Speaker 2 (02:04:43):
Lyon gives up for wisdom shot, Bacon drive scoops it
up and a whistle for a fowl on NDSU. It's
on Emile Scoota that will send Dre Wisdom to the
free throw line Wisdom shooting two, and he rattles over

(02:05:07):
the first one oh one to twenty nine. Wisdom second
is good one o one to thirty three thirty eight
remaining and the Byson habit working from Lepta. Right now

(02:05:28):
Saunders and Shoon Rock the walk On's in. Saunders has
made two three so far. Showen Rock looking for his

down on the post shown Rock with the right hand hook.
It is up and just rolls off. No good rebound

one oh three to thirty with the Bison leading it
three minutes remaining, lie On with it driving down, circling

(02:06:15):
in right of the lane and it knocked out of
bounds and the Bison it was off of them. Last
we'll stay with Saint Skolaska twenty four turnovers right now
on Saint Scholastica.

Speaker 1 (02:06:27):
Bizon with thirteen.

Speaker 2 (02:06:28):
Steals in this game, the defense continuing to clamp down
one ninety to sixty eight. Last night over count State
Northridge's gonna get another big way to get to five hundred.
Top of the key, lieon, lieon with four to shoot
behind the back dribble, two to shoot, throws it to
Harris in the corner and the buzzer sounds on the
shot clocks. Shot clock violation will turn it back over

(02:06:50):
to the Bison one oh three to thirty. The Bison
have the lead with two twenty five remaining. Saunders had
it stripped away by Harris. Harris into the front court
steps through layoff is good. Plus he got hacked out
of the arm by show Rock, and he'll go to
the line with the three point play.

Speaker 1 (02:07:15):
One three thirty two now is Harris will go to
the line.

Speaker 5 (02:07:22):
And Sam is almost too bad that and he doesn't
have one more body available because you know, based on
who's on the bench, Tase Smith is gonna have to
finish this game out. And you know that's probably one
of the that's probably the last guy that you wouldn't
want to have out there with guys that are seeing
minutes in the rotation. You want to have those guys
not playing in this type of situation.

Speaker 33 (02:07:39):
Right.

Speaker 2 (02:07:39):
Max Barley not available tonight with an ankle injury should
be fine long term to and change the play. Here's
Saunders and he gets whistled as they get Harris, who
bumped him on the perimeter.

Speaker 1 (02:07:53):
Harris's second team's fit. Two oh three remaining.

Speaker 2 (02:08:00):
Massy will inbound now for the Bison on the sideline,
looking looking, bounces in for Saunders high right side top
of the keys shown Rock Shoon Rock, the former manager
of Minnesota, gives it up to Massy. Massy driving in,
kicks it out Saunders.

Speaker 1 (02:08:15):
What's a third?

Speaker 2 (02:08:16):
Three?

Speaker 1 (02:08:17):
Got it?

Speaker 2 (02:08:19):
Riley Saunders the walk on perfect from three point range,
his third of the night and the Bison laid at
one oh six to thirty two, one thirty remaining, Harris

(02:08:41):
flings it up. No good to the rebound track down
by Saunders. One twenty three remaining up ahead from Massy.
Massy driving looking lost it able to dig it out
for Saunders and he'll bring it back around the arc.
With one thirteen to play. One oh six to thirty two,
Byson shown Rock pitches back for Smith. Smith driving in

(02:09:04):
and he got foul on the attack fowl on Saint Scholastica.
That'll send Tase Smith to the faith row Lion. It'll
go on, Jordan Lyon, Well, I think the.

Speaker 5 (02:09:14):
Real question is, sam is what is the minimum shot
at ten requirements for you know, popping up with some
of those NCAA leaderboards got because we got one hundred
percent here in Fargo.

Speaker 2 (02:09:23):
Riley Saunders four of four on the season. Now he
finds Massy in the corner. His corner three, got it,
Riley Massy. But his first three pointer as a Bison,
that is the fifteenth of the night for NDSU from
long range, and now it's one oh nine to thirty two.

Speaker 1 (02:09:43):
Here's wisdom behind the back, dribble.

Speaker 2 (02:09:47):
Inside for Lion and his drive is whistling for a
foul on NDSU. Of course, remember last year the Bison,
the bombs away Bison set the school record three pointers
made the game at Samford over Thanksgiving. You'd have these
huge three point performances every night, fifteen good enough for

(02:10:08):
the fourth most in school history. In a game, the
free throw by Lion no good, one nine to thirty two.
The score buys deleted, forty three point nine seconds remaining.
Lyon's second free throw is good, and now it's one

(02:10:29):
o nine to thirty three. Forty three point nine buysn't
get it into day Smith and I'll have one more
possession as Riley Saunders brings it up. See if the
bisn't play it out or just let the clock run
and give it right back it's Saunders bounces up to
shown rock. Here we go fifteen on the timer, shown

(02:10:49):
Rock and the lane lost it. Lyon's got it hustling
ahead in the front court, bounces ver Harris layup good,
Good to it twenty two seconds to go. That makes
it a one o nine to thirty five shot. Clock
is off as the bias and bring it across the timeline.
Riley Massey has it and he gets fouled by Harris.

(02:11:11):
I don't put Ndysu on the free throw line. Harris
with the foul, seventh one on Saint Scholastica and Riley
Massey will be at the line right to go to state.
Massy shooting free throws is first of his career and
he knocks down the first one ten to thirty five.

Speaker 5 (02:11:32):
Byson, I think you gotta talk to my guy Stripes there. Sam,
that's gotta be a no call under twenty. Here's another
one good.

Speaker 2 (02:11:43):
Massy makes them both one eleven to thirty five fourteen
seconds remaining and Wisdom brings it up the floor for
Saint Scholastica. Seven seconds lyon left of the key, he'll
hoist a three and he switches it with three point.

Speaker 1 (02:11:59):
Three ago one eleven to thirty eight.

Speaker 2 (02:12:02):
Bison inbounded. Scuda's got it and that's all she wrote
here inside the shot. Bison go two for two and
they're back to back Hope games and they dominate over
Saint Scholastica one eleven to thirty eight. To the final
as NDSU improves it two and two on the season,

(02:12:25):
back to back knights, back to back wins. Byson take
care of business one eleven to thirty eight in the
final score on the Coaches Toy scoreboard, We're back with
the Rick Electric post game show.

Speaker 1 (02:12:34):

to Massy. Massy driving in, kicks it out Saunders Once
a third three got it Riley Saunders, the walk On
perfect brook three point range, his third of the night,
and the Bison laid at one oh six.

Speaker 1 (02:15:23):
To thirty two.

Speaker 2 (02:15:25):
Riley Saunders putting the finishing touchdes on a Bison victory.

Speaker 1 (02:15:29):
The walk On nailed all three of his three pointers.

Speaker 2 (02:15:32):
He finished with nine points and NDSU handles business against
Saint Scholastica.

Speaker 1 (02:15:39):
They win it one to eleven to thirty eight.

Speaker 2 (02:15:41):
Sam Niederman and Dexter Warner with you here on the
Rick Electric postgame show. Dex, the Bison came out, they
got to work on some things, they got to get
some younger guys some more minutes, and ultimately they come
out with a big victory to wrap up this back
to back home swing with two victories.

Speaker 5 (02:16:00):
Yeah, I would say mission accomplished as far as uh,
as far as the game plan goes there and DSU
getting shots up, playing comfortable, and you know, got to
see quite a few shots go through the rim, which
I think is really good for these guys with you
know that slower first three game starts that they had,
so objectives completed, the guy's kept the intensity up, I
like the defensive intensity other than played.

Speaker 4 (02:16:21):
With and you know, got two wins at home, so that's.

Speaker 11 (02:16:24):
The big thing.

Speaker 1 (02:16:25):
Huge for the Bison.

Speaker 2 (02:16:26):
They shot fifteen out of twenty seven from three point
range tonight. That's fifty six percent from downtown. Great to
see after this team was looking for some three pointers,
they got some. Tay Smith led the way. He had
five of them and he had twenty four points tonight.

Speaker 4 (02:16:43):
Dix.

Speaker 5 (02:16:44):
Yeah, you know Obviously, Tay Smith came out really aggressive.
I think one for ten yesterday in that season game.
So again, that's a young man where you know his
role for this team is going to be to be
one of those guys that steps up in Knox doowns
on threes. So again, I think that's really good to
see him comfortable flowing into his shot. And I think
that's the best thing about these games is seeing when

(02:17:05):
guys starts shooting and you can tell they're not thinking
about it like they are when you're going through some
shooting struggles. You know, you know you got a good lead,
you can be comfortable get those shots up, and that
can kind of help some guys turn it around heading
into you know, some more du one opponents coming up.

Speaker 2 (02:17:19):
Yeah, it was Smith and Smith. Carson Smith was really
good tonight. He had seventeen. Yeah, you know Carson Smith too.

Speaker 5 (02:17:26):
I told you during one of the breaks, I like
a guy like Carson Smith because he doesn't really look
like a basketball player, but he goes out there and
plays hard. And then he got hot early, and you know,
he was kind of the first spark for that NBSU team.
The three straight threes to start and that kind of
started the barrage for NBSU to get that first half
big lead.

Speaker 2 (02:17:44):
Bisen went it one eleven to thirty eight, and they
improved to two and two on the season. A big
victory four the Bison as they will continue this home
stand here in Fargo with a big game.

Speaker 4 (02:17:59):
I'm Monday night.

Speaker 2 (02:18:00):
Against Southern Illinois seven pm tip off in that one,
as the Bison hosts the sulukis out of the Missouri
Valley Conference.

Speaker 1 (02:18:09):
It'll be a huge matchup here inside.

Speaker 2 (02:18:12):
The Shield Center, and we'll be ready for it as
we get set for Monday night, one eleven and thirty eight.

Speaker 1 (02:18:19):
The final score Bison won it.

Speaker 2 (02:18:22):
We'll hear from coach Dave Richmond and here in just
a moment, you look at the Bison the rest of
the box score here decks. You had four guys in
double figures tonight, mar Kai Strickland fifteen points and he
was perfect from the floor seven out of seven. He
has had a very high field goal percentage to start

(02:18:42):
this year. Mark Kaye came into tonight shooting him at
sixty five percent for the floor. That number is gonna
skyrocket after a perfect game for the floor tonight.

Speaker 5 (02:18:52):
Yeah, I'd say seven for seven is a pretty efficient
game out there for the young man, you know, especially
like we said that ankle t week early. Good to
see him get back out there, loosen that thing up
and stay healthy. And you know, I think that's another
big thing coming out of these games Sam too, is
you know, guys playing some extended minutes, you do some
things that you.

Speaker 4 (02:19:11):
Might not normally do.

Speaker 5 (02:19:13):
It's important to come out of these games healthy too,
because that's what that's really what you hate to see
is if you're playing a game like this, you're up
big and someone has an injury that takes off for
a couple of games. So, you know, besides the slight
ankle tweak from Marquis Strickland, staying healthy too, that's a
big thing for NDSU coming out of this.

Speaker 1 (02:19:28):
Huge for the Bison.

Speaker 2 (02:19:29):
Only injury tonight coming in was Max Marley and everybody
else stays healthy as the Bison win it one eleven
to thirty eight, the final score on the Coach's Choice
score board. Bizon getting the job done two for two
inside the shack to start out this home slate here
in Margo Now joint Court sign by Dave Richmond, Bison

(02:19:51):
head coach all smiles after this one, coach, congratulations on
the victory.

Speaker 1 (02:19:55):
What'd you like tonight.

Speaker 9 (02:19:56):
No, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna jump down on
any podium and and say, oh non Division one, this,
this and this. Now, I'm really proud of our guys.
And yeah, the score, you know, got inflated in this
and this. But it takes a ton of maturity. You
can ask Dex about a certain Crookston game, you know,
back in the day. But it takes us a ton
of maturity, you know, to come out and play the

(02:20:17):
right way in these games, especially after we just got
done playing last night. So you know, extremely proud of
these guys. They're fun to be around. You could see
that today and really proud of them and really need
to you know, reset now for a day. But we
got ann You need to do a great job this
week over the weekend. Tell your friends. Unbelievable opportunity on

(02:20:37):
Monday night against a tremendous opponent in Southern.

Speaker 4 (02:20:39):
Illinois, huge Southern coming into town.

Speaker 2 (02:20:42):
We cannot wait for some Monday night hoopes. We'll pump
it up for Shirt Coach. We gotta start pumping up
Smith at Smith to that duo tonight twenty four points
for take Carson at seventeen to just fifteen minutes.

Speaker 9 (02:20:53):
Yeah, no, I mean these games are good for a
lot of reasons too, but it's also it was great
to get some guys comfortable and the experiences and and
they both shot at Carson came out of the gates
and you know, made some early and I think it
was really important for Tay smith Is to see that
ball go in. We know Tay's a great shooter. He
knows he's a great shooter. Sometimes you need validation in
those things. So I'm really proud of those guys. And

(02:21:16):
I think, you know, excuse me, Andy and and Deamori
continue to be the head of the monster and and
get downhill and do the right things and transition and
spearhead it all. So you know, it's a total team effort.

Speaker 4 (02:21:27):
Coach, we talked a little bit about early in the season.

Speaker 9 (02:21:30):
But do you want to talk about the Crookston game.

Speaker 4 (02:21:32):
No, that's okay. We all get this focus on this team, okay.

Speaker 5 (02:21:35):
But we talked about, you know, just the opportunity to
early on where you know, back to back games kind
of get some postseason type of rep where play last night,
shut it down, recover, turn around, and do it to
get in the very next morning.

Speaker 4 (02:21:48):
You know, touch on that a little bit.

Speaker 9 (02:21:49):
Yeah, I mean it's a very and I mean this
is a compliment. I'm not a huge fan of the
work business we get to do this, but it's a
very business like, workmanlike attitude from this group, Like we
took care of business, we reset, we locked in it
shoot around today. You could see that we came out
and boom, and I just I love who we are defensively,
I really do. And there's no let off the gas.

(02:22:10):
There's an intensity to it and the best part about
it is as far from a perfect version.

Speaker 2 (02:22:16):
No Federson had five blocks. Dexter was hoping that he
would be taking out to not threaten that block record,
but he continues to defend the rain.

Speaker 9 (02:22:23):
You know, I'm gonna admit to I saw it at
halftime with four and I'm like, does it really count
when he gets hit against?

Speaker 2 (02:22:29):
You know so?

Speaker 9 (02:22:30):
But but those guys are doing a no one in
particular tonight. He's doing a good job of executing a
game plan and that's protecting the rim for us and
six last night, ten over the week, you know, ten
over the last couple days.

Speaker 1 (02:22:41):
Pretty cool to see, coach. I gotta ask you again,
same back to back nights. Riley Saunders is pitch of
the perfect game right now.

Speaker 10 (02:22:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (02:22:47):
I just walked by mom and dad over here and
you know, told him they got a shoot her in
the house. So it's good to see, you know. And
I mean these guys, you know, Caleb showing rock and
Riley Saunders and you know, those guys put in a
ton of efforts, so it's good to see them get
rewarded a little bit. I think it was big that
you know a guy like Riley Massey. We have big
hopes and aspiration should say hopes, we have big aspirations.

(02:23:09):
Riley's a tough kid that's been in the right spot.
And Riley Massey battled the sickness for a week to
ten days and so he missed some valuable time. He's
just getting his feet back under him. That young man's
going to be a good Buyson here.

Speaker 2 (02:23:20):
No doubt, Coach. Fun two nights here, two victories. We'll
be ready to go for a big one on Monday.

Speaker 9 (02:23:25):
Thanks here, gentlemen, thank you.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
