Speaker 1 (00:11):
Starting lineup for the Bison will be different tonight. No
Jackson Money, no Jakari White, both done for the season
with hand injuries. The point guard Andy Stefanowitz six foot
two freshman from Minnetonka, Minnesota. Just Andy's fourth start on
the season, his third and Summit League play. He has
been fantastic in the action that he's had this season

(00:33):
as a rookie, fifty six assists compared to twelve turnovers
for the steady handed Bison legacy. Both of his parents
played at NDSU. The two guard is Mason Miller six
foot two, fifth year senior who transferred in from Indiana
State nine months ago. It's Miller's one hundred and thirty
seventh career game. He averages ten points per game, and

(00:55):
he's the best three point shooter in the Summit League
at forty five point seven percent.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
That mark ranks fifth in the entire country.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
The third guard is Luke Kasuke, who will come off
of the bench for his fourth started Summate League action.
Six foot five, a senior captain from Saint Louis, Missouri
who transferred in from Illinois State. Three points and two
rebounds per game for Kasub keep the fourth guard is
Derek Descett, six foot four sophomore from minor North Dakota.

(01:24):
He had eight total points in his previous fifteen Summit
League games this season before putting up a career high
sixteen points at thirteen rebounds against the Coyotes last Wednesday
in Fargo. Noah Federson is the one big man for
the Bison six foot ten sophomore captain from the Nominee,
Wisconsin ten points and seven rebounds against USD last Wednesday

(01:47):
in Fargo. Once again for the Bison, Stefano, Witz, Miller,
kasub Key and Descet in the backcourt, Fetterson in the
front court. Head coaches Dave Richmond two hundred and eleven
wins compared to one hundred and forty one losses in
his eleventh season at NDSU.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Starting lineup for the South.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Dakota Coyotes the five seed eighteen and thirteen on the season,
nine to seven in the Summon league. It will sound
like this. Their point guard is Chase fourteen. He's their
best player, six foot four senior from Brawley, North Carolina
transfer from Northwestern State, seventeen points per game. He also
leads a Summit League with just under two steals per game,

(02:29):
the Summon League Defensive Player of the Year and first
team All Conference. The two guard is Dre Bullock six
foot six, a senior from Franklinton, North Carolina, fourtes high
school teammate, twelve points per game. The three guard is
Isaac Bruns six foot four sophomore from North Sioux City,
South Dakota, fourteen points per game. He's their second leading scorer.

(02:51):
He was honorable mentioned in the All Summon League teams.
The fourth guard is Max Bertschild six foot four senior
from two Falls four points per game, three rebounds per game,
and their center is Mayum Boom six foot ten, a
senior from Lincoln, Nebraska. He did not play in the

(03:12):
last meeting of the regular season between these two teams
with an injury. He is healthy now four points and
two rebounds per game. Coyotes are coached by Eric Peterson
forty two wins and fifty two losses in his third
season as the USD head coach, a former assistant there

(03:32):
under Craig Smith for a number of years, and he's
looking to get the Coyotes back into the semi finals
of the Summit League Tournament. Last season, they went one
and done in the eight to nine game with a
loss against Oral Roberts. The lights are off, the spotlights
are circling the winner to take on Omaha in tomorrow's

(03:52):
semi finals. It's three games and three days if the
Bison want to get this thing done. Decks, you've been
in this event before or what's going through your mind
here before this first one as lineups are being introduced.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Yeah, just get comfortable.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
It's a big you know, it's a big arena, big atmosphere,
and you know, something that we always talk about as
players too. If you look at this arena, the backdrop
behind the hoop is huge, Like there's there's not really
a backdrop to help you get your depth lined up
for shooting. And so that's something that can take a
couple of adjustments because you've only been out here warming

(04:26):
up for you know, the last half hour.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
These guys haven't shot in this arena yet.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
So if you're a guy who has never played in
this arena before, it can take a little bit of
time to get comfortable with how much distance is behind
the hoops. That's something that I always noticed as a player,
and I've talked about it with other former players as well.
Get comfortable, find a way to get going, and don't
make the moment bigger than it is, right, don't stretch
yourself out too much. Get ready to go and go

(04:50):
out there and have some fun. It's a really big
time atmosphere and you got to enjoy it a little bit.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
The Summer League Tournament its sue falls South Dakota one
of the best mid major comp French tournaments in America.
We're about set for this quarter final bout between the
Bison and South Dakota. Our officials Brian McNutt, Luke Schumer,
Tim Stewart, and Mark Riggs. Byson in white, South Dakota
in black. Doah Pederson will jump center against Miyu Boom.

(05:17):
The official comes in between them, puts up the ball
and we are underway here at suit balls. South Dakota
wins the opening town and they move from right to
left as you listen, Bison d up Man de Man
in the front court. Here's fort A right and the
key left of the key Isaac Bruns back to fort A.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
They played pitching catch early in the shot clock.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Forte left foul and extended clears to dra Bullock. Bullock
drives down the lane, puts up a runner and banks
it up.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
No good.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
Rebound knocked around the perimeter and it's gathered in by
Isaac Bruns. A reload for the Coyotes. Bruns out top
left wing Bullock. Bullock picks up his dribblet clears to
Berchull one dribble in a pass for forty A timer
down to eight, forte left of the key, fourteen at
the elbow, bounces in for boom his post shot no good,
and the raybound taken by Fenderson for the Bison.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Noah's got it.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
He'll bring it up the floor himself at six foot ten,
used to be a ball handler, primarily in high school
at Menomine, Wisconsin. Bison in the front court of their
first possession, Mason Miller launches a three bottom. Mason Miller
knocks down the tray. There's a good start for INDISU.
Three nothing good, guys.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
It's sam.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
If you're in DSU, that's a really good sign early.
If Mason Miller can get going from three, that'd be
huge for NDSU.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Fort's runner good at the other end, and South Dakota
is on the board.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
It's three to two admitted and change into.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
The quarterfinals full court press deployed by South Dakota. They
back off as the final, which brings it up the floor.
They're one of the fastest teams in America, top five
of the country in tempo, averaging seventy four possessions per game.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Miller right wing three over everything in airball.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Rebound was in the hands of Descent, but then torn
away by Bullock, and here come the Coyotes from right
to left, Bison by one. Bullock slashes to the block,
left wing for fourte caught out by Boom and now
back for fourteen fourteen, directing traffic, holding out his left
hip matched up with Descent around the screen from Boom
driving to the block, stops, skips Bullock right sideline three clank,

(07:15):
no good rebound taking buys to Fanowitz and the Buyson
clear and he has you left right Stefanowitz drives down
right block, puts up the layup band, scars off the window,
and he's the fooling's with the masket in transition, finding
the two.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
North Dakota state.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Just over two minutes gone in the opening sequence, bies
it up by three, and here's Bruns curling up to
the foul line. He had it stripped away by Kasuki,
and here come the Bison.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Off the turnover.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Mason Miller into the front court, settles up on the
right wing, left hand, dribble around the screen, bounces in.
Petterson goes in. Miss Is the one handed dunk got
his own. Miss puts it up again and gets the
roll off the window. Noah Pederson with the follow and
it's seventy two, buys it in the early going.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
And Sam even there on. Then this there you see.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Noah Fenderson's got some tape on his hand too, and
decided he was gonna go with one hand, which he
typically doesn't do.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Just didn't quay a look comfortable going for that?

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Done Boick airballs are three. The ball goes out of
bounds and the Bison will have it. After our first
sequence of subs. In the game, hockey line chains for
South Dakota. They put in four new players, Caleb Stewart,
Ashton Smith, Shay Everwinde, and Paul Bruns, the older brother
of Isaac who stays on the floor. Meanwhile, the Bison

(08:30):
keep their starting five in the game. Stefanowitz, against pressure
from Stewart, brings it up the floor from left to
right seventeen to oh five remaining first half seven to
two Byson Derek descent on the right wing inside, Fenderson
pops out to the Fanalwitz corner three, bring it up
and the stuff Finalwitz knocks down the triple and the
Bison have grabbed a ten to two lead in the

(08:51):
first three ten here in the quarters.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
And Sam for a freshman like Andy Stefanowitz hasn't played
in this tournament, to get a couple of early ones
to go is huge to kind of settle down those jitters.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Big confidence going into this first game for him.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Isaac Bruns knocks down a ten foot jump shot and
that breaks a little seven nothing run by the Bison,
ten to four South Dakota within six. Here comes Indysu
against the pressure from Stuart Stefano. It's across the halfway stripe,
picked up by Stewart at the top of the key,
driving left, fallon extended, keeps his dribble, now kicks out.

(09:24):
Fenderson slashes over the foulne Spinns in the lane, puts
it up, falling away sure off the front of the
rand remound front four. The set scraps for it and
Bruns was able to leak it out as well off
of Indysu last it'll go the other way to the Coyotes.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Ten to four Bison.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
They may not have Jackson Bony or Jacari White, but
they can still knock down some shots from the outside.
Two for their first three from downtown to Javis. Miller
has checked in off of the bench. Here's Stuart out
top for you lsd left sideline everwind post feed for
Smith one on one with Benderson, pounds it in with
the right hand, rolls underneath the backboard, throws it up,

(10:07):
no good rebound by Isaac Bruns. Crammed in a double
team loops it out forever Wine. He tees up a
three and is halfway down and down no good offensive
rebound Bruns has put back good. Isaac Bruns finishes off
the right side of the window and it's ten to
six Bison lead.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Cut down the four.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Fifteen and a half minutes remaining here in this first
half binds it off to a ten six lead. Benderson
wide open straight away three, grim Glass miss no good
and the rebound taken by Isaac Bruns. Here come the
Coyotes runs out of the front court, throws it over
for his brother. Paul lost his dribble trying to dig
it out. Wrestle away by Derek. Decent men whistle for

(10:47):
a jump ball possession arrow will favor the Bison when
we come back time out on the floor. There's a
break in the action with our score. The Bison ten
South Dakota six fifteen fifteen remain any of the first half,
which is the Bison Sports Network.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Probably a feel.

Speaker 4 (11:04):

League Quarterfinals tonight. The Bison up ten to six in

(12:34):
the early going on USD fifteen fifteen remaining in the
first half on the coaches Choice scoreboard, Sam Niederman, Dixter
Warner here with you courtside Dix, no Jackson money, no
Jacari White. Bison got off to a ten to two lead.
South Dakota scored the last four points. But a good
first sequence by the Bison.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Yeah, and yes, he is getting good looks and they've
got to continue to take them. You know, even that
old Pederson three wide over at the top of the key,
I always got to look to take those over.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Watch.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
Andy Stefanowitz is gonna aggressive early. Keep taking what the
defense gives you. With this USD defense, the beauty of
it is Indies. You still shouldn't have to force. They're
gonna get some good looks. It's gonna be some different
guys shooting them that isn't used to doing it as much.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Keep stepping up and being confident. Take what you can get.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Bison from left to right as you listen up ten
to six fifteen minutes remaining in the first half, high
post to Jamis Miller, tosses out Mason Miller for three.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Halfway down and out in rebound taking by.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Smith, and South Dakota clears almost at a low early
Miller time here in soth Sioux falls, but instead usd
in the front court left. Here's Bullock at the top
of the key left wing fort a fort with two
points early drives left base line met by a double
team opposite corner Stewart for three. No good freemount taking

(13:54):
by Jamis Miller, and here come the Bison the other
way into the front court right two minutes scoring draft
for the herd. Let's see what they have to say
about it. To James Miller straight away holds it the
right thigh right wing. Derek Descett slashes to the lane,
spins off his defender, puts it up on the right hand.
No good rebound underneath, controlled by Forte to set miss
the bunny and here come the Coyos. Forte pulls up.

(14:17):
He'll hesitate, now drive right hand, float or short off
the lip of the rim. His own mess puts it up.
No good, but he's hacked. A whistle for a foul
called on to Javis Miller. Foul on Javis. That is
his first and the games first on either team. Chase
Forte will go to the line and shoot two for
South Dakota. He is one of the best in the

(14:40):
country at getting the free throw line. He knocks down
his two hundred and thirty fifth free throw attempt of
the season, which ranks fourth best in America. Only seventy
one percent at the foul line this season. Here comes
his second spintins at the waist. Dribbles puts it up.
It is good.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Got the front roll after a couple.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
Of bounces on the back iron and now usd within two.
It's ten to eight. The Coyotes have scored six in
a row. Bison imbound against the full court pressure. Lukasuki
bounces to Javis Miller and now over to Stefano which
Stefano Witz got clipped by Bullock and that's a foul
on Bullock. In usdval Andre Bullock is first teams first

(15:23):
Bison will imbound in the back court once again. No
Brennan Watkins tonight for the Bison either with a back injury,
so that means Andy Stefano Witz will get pretty much
all the minutes at point guard. The true freshman used
the behind the back dribble to break the timeline against
Bullock's defense. Now into the front court, entry fee at

(15:44):
the high post for Derek de Said, driving in right
in the lane, puts it up. Man banked it up strong,
no good rebound, bawling around and controlled by Burchill. Here
comes USD with Burchill into the front court. Burchill to
the free throw line outside for Bullock a shot faking
pass Paul Bruns for three off the back. I are
no good rebound, knockdown of bounds on the baseline. Whistle

(16:04):
for a foul on Burchill. It'll go the other way
to NDSU.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
And Sam.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
That's actually a really good call because Burchill actually pushed Kasuke,
who then knocked Javis Miller out of bounds, taking away
that rebound, so it kind of looked like it was
just you know, friendly fire with nduc running into each other.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
But that's a really good call and that was a foul.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Thirteen thirty six remaining first half, buys it up ten
to eight, although India, as you hasn't scored in almost
three and a half minutes to final what's behind the
back Dribble bounces the post for Fenderson, works on the block,
puts it up on the right hand, blocked by Bill Burchill.
Lost the ball scooped up by Bullock. Bullock into the
front court, changing direction, puts it up, blocked away by Jamis.
Miller buys an half transition if they wanted five on four.

(16:48):
Kasoup Key pitches back Jamis deep three half right down
and out rebound knocked away and Fenderson able to save
it on the baseline to kasup Key bounces back for
Jamis right in the keys to Fanowitz and the Bison
will slow it up. Approaching thirteen minutes remaining first half
or up by two. Here's Fenderson with eight on the timer,
holds out top Noah hands it off. Mason Miller with

(17:09):
five to shoot, lost it and they'll whistle him for
a travel as he went up and down turnover by
the Bison, unable to get anything on the sick of chance,
so the Bison have not scored in four minutes and
four seconds. This was after they built down a ten

(17:30):
to two lead in the early going South Dakota with
a three from Forte off the front of the rem
noo good rebound ripped away by Kasuke Byson control. The
Coyotes haven't made a shot for the field in the
last three minutes twelve thirty five or many of the
first Bison by two, ten to eight. It's the final.
It's underneath the basket. Loops it out for Javis. Rotation
for Fenderson, left side three by Kasuke. Yes, look, kasup

(17:54):
Ke knocks down the three Byzon breaking a scoreless drove
theer up thirteen to eight. Harris Forte driving baseline, skips
it forever. Wine drives the left corner, goes up and
miss it off the window. No good, right abound, tipping
it the hands up, casop kep up ahead for Jamis
into the front court. Jamis drives layup is no good,

(18:14):
but he's fouled hard from behind by USD. Foul on USD.
It'll go on miyung boom that's his first team's third.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
And to Javis Miller will be on the free throw
line shooting two. Yeah, and Sam, that's one of the
things that Javis Miller does really well. Is you get
a transition like that, if you're going to go attack
the hoop, you gotta go into your defender and draw
that contact because A it's gonna take away their shop
blocking ability.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
If you can get into their chest and be worst
case scenario, you're probably getting a foul call. Is he
just did on that attemper right there?

Speaker 1 (18:43):
To Jameis Miller knocks down the first Bison by six,
fourteen to eight. Jamis with his first point up the night,
seventy two percent at the foul line this season, the
Summit League sixth Man of the Year, fourth Bison to
do so. As he knocks down the back end, goes
two for two fifteen eight, Buison up by seven.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
You want a six Man of the Year couple of
times in your time, A couple of them. Sam, come on,
not too shabby, my man.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Eleven fifty five remaining in the first half, Bison lead
at fifteen to eight. Forte A rudder, no good, but
a whistle. As he was attacking the lane. It'll be
a foul on the Bison. Second team foul on the Bison,
and we'll go to our under twelve media timeout. Break
in the action. Eleven fifty three remaining in the half.

(19:35):

Basketball and banking have a lot more in common than
you might think, like experience coaching at Trust we are
your friends and neighbors, people you can count on First
Western Bank and Trust Bank on us. The Bison fifteen,
South Dakota eight, with eleven fifteen to three y remaining
of the first half on the coaches Joy scoreboard. Sam
Niederman Dexter Warner Bison by seven. They endured a four

(21:12):
minute scoring drought during the last sequence, dex and the
reason being they've been playing pretty good defense the game's
first eight minutes. They mount South Dakota to three of
fifteen from the floor, zero of six.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
From beyond the arc. Yeah, I mean, and yes, he
was playing good d Sam. Like we just talked about,
they went on a scoring DROE, but they also caused
one for USD of their own. So keep battling, stay
with it, and USU's moving the ball really well in
their offense, and now they're playing together. They got that
thing slinging a little bit. Like we said earlier, just

(21:45):
keep taking those good looks and hope that some of
them start to fall.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Forte misses a free throw for South Dakota to begin
this sequence. He'll get one more after he was found
by Derek Decett going into the commercial break. The second
one is good and he goes one for two. Fifteen
to nine are score Bison by six eleven to fifty three.
Remaining of the half and dsu from left to right
against the full court press, Mason Miller flings it a head

(22:09):
for Javis. Miller pumps a pass on the left wing,
drives down to the left block outsigned for Eddy Stefanowitz.
They whipping around the perimeter right sideline Mason Miller back
of the poster Federson Federson on Stewart pounding the left
hand ribble backdoor bounce pass for de.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Set hanging in the air.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
He finishes the layoff Derek descent with his first points
off of the the ball game so far, Bison re
extended lead to eight seventeen to nine. Here's forte left
of the key, right in the key for Isaac Bruns
between the legs, dribble spins backs in fall away from
ten good. Isaac Bruns with his fourth point and south
Dakota and in the double figures.

Speaker 2 (22:44):

it up against Bruns eleven zero five.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Ticking down on the first half clock.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Stefanal Witz into the front court to set on the
right wing, throws a pass looking for Federson, but had
it knocked away by Bruns. The Bison will maintain possession
with eighteen on the shot clock. OLAF Anderson General Contractors

posting up left of the line, working on Bruns, banging
in with a right hand dribble, zips it out for Fenderson,
top of the key for Mason Miller inside. Fenderson puts
it up and missed it. Short hookback is good and
Noah is able to finish on the second chance his
fourth point. Bison nineteen South Dakota eleven good john by

(23:38):
Noah Fedderson. Sticking with it ten and a half remaining
in the opening half. Paul Bruns on the high left
side brings it out to the perimeter right sideline. Everwind
Everwind jamming and now sweeping down to the right block extended,
picks up his dribble, cleares to Isaac Gruns, shot clock
down to nine. Gruns post feed for Boom one on
one with Fenderson Boom with five. Boom put it number

(24:00):
the left hand and scores by you Boom, the former
D two transfer from Imporia stateon Kansas. He cuts into
a six point game nineteen to thirteen Bison toss it
in for Stefano. Witz races across the timeline high on
the left side of the front court. Andy with the
handles between the legs picked up by Stewart, around a
screen hedged out by Boom, driving Downhill, lowers his head

(24:23):
zips it in a no man's land, a rare turnover
by the freshman miscommunication looking for to jamis Miller, it'll
go the other way to the coyotes and Sam with
his USD press something else.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
The NBASU has to adjust to a little bit is
as you're breaking the press. A lot of times you're
coming across the timeline with you know, twenty two seconds.
It gets down to eighteen before you even into your action.
NDSU's gotta stay aggressive, right away in their offense. As
they're coming out of this press ground.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Isaac Crunch knocks down a seventeen footer. It's spun around
the rim a whole entire rotation and almost spit off
the lip, but instead it stays down. Brunch has eight
to lead you deep, and the Boyson lead has shrunk
down to four nineteen to fifteen ninety twenty four remaining
first half. Noah Fenderson top of the key, starts his dribble,
hands it off Mason Miller on the left wing back

(25:11):
of the post for Noah pumps the pass, starts to dribble,
posting up on boom into the lane, spins let puts

taken by Isaac Bruns nine in chains remaining of the half,
buys it up by four Bruns top of the key.
Bruns outside for his brother Paul right corner Stewart. Stewart
dancing with a dribble, hands it off for Paul Bruns
buried in the corner, back out for Stuart. Stuart skips

(25:33):
it over for Isaac Bruns high on the left side.
Isaac driving in pulls up foul line jumper halfway down
and out rebound spits down to Stefanowitz, and here come
to Bison leading it by four.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
A throw ahead for descent layup is good.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
At the other end, Derek descent off the feed from
Stefanowitz buys it up twenty one to fifteen, eight thirty
six remaining of the half. Here's ever Wide pulls up
inside the key, bounces into the post or Boom faces
up on Federson.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Reverse layup and the left. Good.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
My you Boom with the basket, and it's twenty one
to seventeen. South Dakota within four. Bison bring it up
as stefano Witch handles against ember Wind working the dribble
and now gets them to back off. He breaks the
front court high on the right side. Andy keeps the
dribble alive, circling down to the right baseline. A whistle,

(26:23):
he stepped down a bounds and it's a turnover on
Andy and the Bison.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
A rare pair of turnovers.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
My Andy Stefanowitz, who only had twelve on the entire
season coming into the game, but he just stepped down
a bounds and South Dakota will have it trailing by board.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Yeah, and I think you got to give a little
bit of credit to Andy's deeponos. He's trying to be
aggressive and you know, look to maybe attack downhill and
find some scoring opportunities for himself. I'm sure that's been
a point of emphasis telling him, you know, hey, you're
gonna have to look to score a little bit more tonight.
Take it with the growing pains. He's doing a really
good job breaking this press and getting into their action.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Emverwind in the pain outside for Bullock rotation, Paul Bruns
back to Everwind left sideline, Bullock. Bullock keeps the hit
dribble alive, kicks it out for Paul Bruns, Paul driving
down back out signed for Bullock rotation to Everwind open
three no good wine drive missed the Bullock back to
Everwind cunning baseline and it's slapped away by James now

(27:18):
Bullock of three off the front of the rim and
the rebound secured by Kasoup Key Bison habit. With seven
and a half remaining in the first leading twenty one seventeen,
the freshman trac And Anderson has checked in for NDSU
as well as Mason Miller spins in the lane. This
is out for Stefano Whitz. He catches over the shoulder,
clears for Anderson top of the key left sideline, Javis

(27:39):
Miller high on that left sideline. Jamis now sizing up
Paul Bruns, dangling the dribble down to the left block.
With five to shoot, Jamis in the post, Jamis getting separation,
banks it up in ann to Jamis Miller with his
fourth point and the Bison leading by six again twenty
three seventeen.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
San, There's gonna be a lot of opportunities for Javis
Miller to do that tonight, late into the shot clock.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Give them the ball, let them play one on one
and go find a way to score full. It's three,
do good.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
A collision on the rebound and a foul on USD
time out on the floor, a break in the action.
Six fifty remaining of the half. Bison twenty three South
Dakota seventeen. This is the Bison Sports Network Crumblayer Field.

proud sponsor of NDSU Athletics.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Bud Light Easy to drink, Easy to enjoy.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
Welcome back, to suit Ball South Dakota Sam Naterman along
with Dexter Warner. The Bison leads South Dakota twenty three
to seventeen on the coaching choice scoreboard, six.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Fifteen remaining in the opening half.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
The winner moves on to take on the top seed
to Omaha in the semi finals tomorrow. That game will
tip off at seven o'clock. So the Bison went out
of Jackson Mooney and Jacari White both are done for
the year with injury. It is a makeshift lineup and
so far, so good Damnson particularly, like we talked about

(30:13):
the last break. Defensively, they've helped them to go to
just thirty percent from the floor and the Coyotes haven't
made a three either.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
Still, they're ozer of nine from beyond the arc. Yeah,
and this is just what I love about Indians, seeing
these guys playing hard and playing together.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
You know. Coach Richmond has said that throughout the year
that these guys have a tight knit group and they've
won a lot of games together even without their two
best players.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
Ndius, you can find a way to battle, ay ya.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
We just got a whistle for a travel call to
Jamis Miller chomped his feet a little bit with the ball,
didn't come to a clean stop, and so it's a turnover.
The Bison give it back to USD the fourth turnover
of the half by NDSU. They only averaged ten per game,
which is top three in the summit. Stuart right elbow,
left wing for fourteen fourteen down on the baseline, dancing

(31:01):
into a double team, bounces off to Smith headed pinball
up on the backside of the backboard, but off of
NDSU last it'll stay with South Dakota. Nine seconds to shoot.
This has not been the prettiest first half offensively by
any means. Only twenty three to seventeen our score. Six
point thirty eight remaining in the half. Inbounds comes to Bullock.

(31:24):
He's got seven to shoot, drives baseline, kicks to fourteenth,
eyeing the timer as he backs it out with three
shake and Bank leads into kasoup key or excuse me,
Mason Miller and draws a foul as he hoists it up.
A desperate jumper, and the only purpose of that three
point jumper was to try and draw contact.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
He did so successfully. He'll get three free throws.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Yeah, and Sam, that's kind of Something that I'm curious
about with how they talk about that rule is that,
you know, Mason Miller went for the shot attempt, but
he's in a pretty good guarding position, and then when
the shooter steps into a very unnatural motion jumping four
forward to draw that contact.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
That's what coach Richmond is trying to talk to the
referee about.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
But I don't think that they're going to change that
call obviously, But I do disagree with it because Mason
Miller had plenty of space jumping three feet forward to
draw contact. I can't call that one a basketball type
of shot. Forte makes the first free throw twenty three eighteen.
It's the first foul on Mason, the third on the Bison.
They actually just called it only a two because he

(32:25):
stepped inside the arc.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
I beg your pardon. They did call it at three.
So it makes the second and you'll get one more.
Twenty three to nineteen. That is fourteen's game. As we
told you, he is top five of the country and
free throw attempts this season, and here comes as third.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
It's good.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
Twenty three to twenty. The Bison lead tripped down to three.
Stewart goes out Isaac Bruns comes in for the Coyotes.
Bison keep in kasoup Ke's the final which James Miller,
Mason Miller and trays and Anderson the freshman to turnover
on the back court steal by Isaac Brunt spins into
the paint backs his way down, looking spinning lost it

(33:03):
rebound is loose or the ball is loose and a
whistle it'll go the other way to the Bison and
Esu looking for entry as Mason Miller finds James Miller
and the backcourt has swatting away my bullet ball is loosing.
A foul called on the Bison as they were unable

(33:26):
to recover on the loose. Change outtown live ball fourteen
foul on ind Su and the foul on Andy Stefano,
which that is his first and making sure they have

(33:49):
the shot clock right, they take off a second twenty
nine to shoot for the Coyotes. Six eighteen remaining in
the half binds it up by three twenty three to
twenty d SU with a few turnovers here in the
last three minutes. Forte spinning in the lane right hand
runner off the back iron, no good rebound by some
final which he wants to lead the break three on
two the other way, Andy lot for Jamis flying in

(34:10):
the air, lay up, no good, but a whistle for
a foul on USD foul on Isaac Brun's retreating back
on defense. That's his first team's fit and to Jamis
will have free throws at the other end. Jamis with

(34:32):
four points tonight, two of two at the foul line.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Ben Jones puts it up and gets the front roll.
It is good.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Twenty four to twenty. Tonight's game brought to you in
part by Petro Serve USA. Petro Serve USA is a
proud Circle of Champions supporter of Bison basketball and your
official convenience store of Bison Athletics. Jamis knocks down the
second twenty five twenty Buyson lee by five again. Trayson

(35:01):
Anderson comes out and Noah Fenderson comes in six d
chains remaining in the half fourteen into the front court.
At the top of the key, pumps a pass rotation
from Berchild skips to Bullock. Bullock driving baseline goes up
looking for a crazy dunk with the right hand lost
it on the way up, ball goes out of bounds.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
It'll stay with NDSU on a turnover. He wanted all
of that thing.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Dave Richmond barking out for the Bison to make sure
they're ready for the press break. USD setting up the
press in the back court binds in. Leaded by five,
twenty five to twenty under six to play in the
first half. Bason Miller bounces in for Andy Stefanowitz, and
Stefanowitz brings it up the floor against Bruns. Andy Hi

(35:52):
on the left side around the screen keeps his jamal alive,
clears to Davis Miller left wing, bounces into the post
for Noah. Fenderson faces up, jabs a shot, bag works
on boom, keeps the right Andrewbles circles in. Lost it
now stumbles out for Mason Miller a three.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
Got it.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Mason Miller knocks down his second three of the game,
and the Bison have builtown at eight point lead, twenty
eight to twenty five, twenty two remaining of a half.
Here's Paul Bruns a three and he switches it. That's
the first made one by the Coyotes. They're one for
ten from downtown. Now it's twenty eight twenty three, Bison

(36:29):
lead trimmed down to five, and he is you trying
to break the press out of the back court ahead
for Jamis Miller. He drives in circles back to the
left wing, top of the key. At his pass picked
off by Paul Bruns, goes up, lays it up in scores.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
Twenty eight to twenty five.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
Bison having some trouble with turnovers, and here come the
Coyote fans. Here in sue pauls Bison from left to right,
breaking the press. Mason Miller into the front court, tosses
off to Javis. Millery holds at the right. Jameis working
on Paul Bruns. Javiis with the dribble down to the
left block. James keeping it alive as he posts up,

(37:08):
curls in the lane right hand post shot.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
No good, but a whistle for.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
A foul on usd It'll go on Paul Bruns.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
That's his first and the team six.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
With four to twenty nine remaining of the half, Javis
back to the free throw line.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
Yeah, Sam, that's what Javis Miller has got to keep doing.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
Even going back to that last possession with the turnover,
Javis Miller should have been more aware that he had
my own boom switched on to him, he's got to
just back that thing out and go take a one
on one. Look, I know that's not in your offense,
but you get a mismatch like that with the guy
who's at a good start to this game, he's got
to keep looking to attack.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
For NDSU, Jamis knocks down the free throw.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
He now has seven points from the Bison, twenty nine
to twenty five.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
Good guys, Fowl was on Paul Bruns. That is his second.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
As Jamis benz Knees puts up another and gets the
front roll.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
He has eight.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
With six of them come the free throw line thirty
to twenty five in DSU for twenty nine remaining of
the half Isaac Bruns ever Wind, Boom, Burchill and Stewart
the five on the floor for USD, Stefanowitz, Kasub Key Descent,
Mason Miller and Pederson for the Bison. Boom in the post,
shaking the shoulders, dribbling with the right hand, works into

(38:19):
the Payton right hand hook is good. My you Boom
with his six point thirty to twenty seven. USD been
within three. Mason Miller with a hand bound for the
Bison finds Luke Kasuke Casub Key clears to any Stefanowitz
bringing the dribble up the floor as three seconds to
break the timeline, does so and speeds to the right
wing top of the key, Fedderson left wing. Cassub keep

(38:41):
Kasuke into the poster Federson, Federson on the left base line,
hands off Mason Miller back to Federson right of the
key for Stefano which Stefano Witz with eight on the timer,
driving down left, hash Mark pulls up follow a jumper
off the rim. No good raybound taking by Isaac Brudds

Speaker 2 (41:05):
State against und and the nightcap.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
USD has made four shots in a row deck, so
they've tied it up. The Bison have led from the jump,
they haven't trailed so far, but they ran into a
little bit of a turnover issue and the Coyotes are
starting to even out their shooting percentage.

Speaker 3 (41:23):
Yeah, and you know what, sam USD has a high
powered offense for how for how low powered their defenses.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
At times they played really hard in the press.

Speaker 3 (41:32):
USD was gonna go on a run and Indians us
just got to keep their wits about them. You're still
in the tie game. He's got to settle back in
and try to find a way to get back into.

Speaker 1 (41:40):
The Stefano Witch out of a trap in the full
court press finals. Casue Keep breaks the timeline three to
nineteen remaining of the half. We're tied at thirty and
the Bison have it from left to right. As you listen,
Indesu and White Kyutes are in black. Here's Descent on
the left baseline working his way into the lane, spins
around followay jumper baked it short rebound taken by Burchill.

(42:00):
There come to Coyotes looking for their first lead on
the ballgame. Emmer Wine inside the top of the key.
Now back out working on Stefanowitz, handling with the left hand,
and now he'll cross over, whips a past the steward
on the right side, line in on the post for

Fella knocks down the front end.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
South Dakota with its first lead of the contest thirty
one to thirty.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
Bison were up ten to two in the early going
South Dakota Cota to ten to eighth. Then the Bison
created separation. They led seventeen to nine, and now USD
with the lead booms seconds is good thirty two to thirty.
Byson trail by Adduce two forty six remaining in the half.
Mason Miller almost slipped as the inbound and he's the

(43:07):

for Anderson puts it up. Man misses with the right hand,
got his own miss put back by Boom. Rebound caroms
out of the lane. It's kicked out to Jamis. A
three on the way god is Davis Miller Berry's the
right wing three on the feed from Anderson, and the

(43:28):
Bison regained the lead thirty three thirty.

Speaker 2 (43:30):
Two, two twenty one to go in the half. Stuart's
running no good at the other end.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
Rebound taken by Jameis, and here come the Bison from
left to right. Jamis brings it across the halfway stripe,
settles up on the right wing he's got eleven to
lead the herd. James posting up on every wine with
the left hand ribble spinning jump shot is good. Davis
Miller falling away on the right base line. He's got
thirteen and the Bson lead by three. Thirty five thirty two.

(44:00):
How about to Jamis Miller a familiar foe, he was
the hero two years ago.

Speaker 2 (44:05):
On his tournament against USD.

Speaker 1 (44:07):
He puts it up on the right hand or Boom
does and it's tipped in good Boom with the uh
follow from his teammate, and it's a one point game again.
Thirty five thirty four minute, thirty five to go in
the first half in bounds, come to kasum Key gives
it off to Mason Miller and Miller brings it a
cross working on Stewart.

Speaker 2 (44:26):
Miller to the left wing, keeping the dribble.

Speaker 1 (44:29):
Alive around the screen from Anderson driving down and he's
bumped by Stewart who was flailing his arms on the perimeter.
That'll be a foul and the seventh on the coyoteset
then that means one in one for Mason Miller. Derek

(44:50):
de Said checks back in for to Jamis Miller with
a game high thirteen points for the Bison off of
the bench. Meanwhile, Mason Miller will be on the free
throw line right, playing at his one hundred and thirty
seventh career game seventy six percent, and he knocks down
the front end of the one and one thirty six

(45:19):
it's good, and it's thirty seven thirty four. Bison with
one twenty to go in the first half. South Dakota
back and the front corn left with Isaac Bruns kicking
out Caleb Stewart for three. Karen's off no good, raybound
Miami Stefano Witz. Here come the Bison, with a minute
and change to play in the half. Andy speeds across

(45:40):
the timeline driving left, Fatlan extended, had poked by Emberwine
Ree gathers under a minute to play in the half,
Trayson Anderson for three off the backboard, no good, and
the rebound taken by ever Wide. There comes South Dakota
with Isaac Bruns in the mid post outside for Virtuell
driving in whips it in the post. Too hot to
handle the stealing turnover taken by the Mison. It will

(46:01):
slow it up as Luke Stragis signals out of play
to the offense thirty eight seconds to go in the
first half, buys it by three in the summing legue quarterfinal,
Derek descent on the block, he picks up his dribble.
He kicks it out to Andy back insigne for Derek
with eleven on the timer, descend with the right hand dribble,
counting it end of the post, spins with six to shoot,

(46:23):
working down low, puts it up and missed it. Bring
out by Anderson three and a shuit puts it up
block by Boom and he does not get the follow
A buzzer sounds, but not before a whistle and a
foul calling on South Dakota foul on the Coyotes, light in.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
The shot clock. That'll give the Bison free throws.

Speaker 3 (46:44):
And Sam there will be a couple of things that
they could look at here. First of all, did any
of those shot attempts raize the rim? And then second,
what they're mainly gonna check is did the foul occur
before the shot clock violation happen. That's what they're gonna
take a look at right now. So the souls go
over to the monitor Brian McNutt, Luke Schumer, and Tim Stewarts.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
Trason Anderson was battling underneath, missed it at first and
then got blocked by boom and by the time he
was trying to put up a follow the buzzer sound
up for the shot clock, butt the whistle for the fowl.

Speaker 2 (47:25):
On USD.

Speaker 1 (47:31):
The Bison are shooting forty one percent from the floor
and they're five of ten from downtown. One more three
pointer and they will tie the record of seventh League
or most threes made by a Sven League team, which

(47:53):
was set by Oral Roberts in twenty twenty three when
they made three hundred and seventy five.

Speaker 2 (47:56):
By at three hundred and sixty nine coming into.

Speaker 1 (47:58):
Tonight, so faring unforeseen drought, Bison will send a new record.
They just announced on the PA that Noah Fenderson is
now wearing number twenty two. He is wearing that numbered uniform. Indeed,
he normally wears thirty four, but there must have been

(48:19):
an issue with his jersey and so he'll wear twenty
two for the rest of the game. Noah playing bank up.
He's got heavy tape on his left hand and it
looks like he had a cut on his right elbow
because he now has tape on that elbow and forearm
as well.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
Meanwhile, they put fifteen point one on the game clock.

Speaker 1 (48:41):
Shot clock is dark and Trayson Anderson is at the
freight throw line to our right. Trayson Anderson nine of
seven have a free throw line this season. The freshman

(49:03):
misses the first off the front of the rim. This
is the first time Tracing has played since the first
meeting against USD, all the way back on January the eighteenth.
He did not play in February and Summing League play.
As he knocks down the back end and goes one
for two thirty eight to thirty four thirteen seconds, swinding

(49:23):
down in the half, South Dakota holding for the last shot.
Bullock downhill around the corner and it's stolen by Kasuki
six seconds. Kasuke in the front court drives in left
hand laft gun flute. Kasuke in transition off the steel
and the buzzer sounds on the first half won the
first twenty minutes of fight by the North Dakota State
buys it.

Speaker 2 (49:43):
Kasuk with the Steel at score and.

Speaker 1 (49:46):
Andysu leads it by six going into halftime.

Speaker 2 (49:50):
Forty to thirty four on the Coach's choice scoreboard.

Speaker 3 (49:54):
Yeah, and a really good finish to the half there
for Endysu. You've got the replay off with the Barn here.
I thought that sh have been a foul. That's a
lot of contact of the body. Great steel and a
really good job you saw Lukasuki got that ball. Fifth
year senior, right, one of the oldest guys on the team,
team captain. One of the first things he did when
he got that steel Sam because he looks up and

(50:15):
sees the clock, realizes, okay, we got seven seconds. He
took off like he was thinking he was gonna have
to shoot a half quarter, had the awareness to look
up see that he had a little bit more time.
Really good strong finish downhill. That's a big momentum swing
for INDIUSU to finish that.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
Half right there.

Speaker 3 (50:30):
The Bison by six at a half time, forty to thirty.

It is halftime and the Bison leads South Dakota in
the seven League quarterfinals forty to thirty four on the
Coaches Choice scoreboard. I'm Sam Niederman, glad that you're with us.
Denster Warner will join us again momentarily, but first let's
listen back to our bud Light first half highlights bud Light,
easy to drink, easy to enjoy. Bison got a three

(53:37):
from Mason Miller to take a three to nothings start.
They would not look back as they got another triple
from Andy Steffanowitz to build out an early eight point advantage.
Derek Descett on the right wing inside Fenderson pomps it
out to the Funalwitz corner.

Speaker 2 (53:53):
Three. Bring it up, Andy stuff.

Speaker 1 (53:55):
Funitz knocks down the triple and the Bison have grabbed
a ten to two lead.

Speaker 2 (54:00):
The left first three ten here in the quarters and
he's the final. It's within a three.

Speaker 1 (54:05):
Bison led by eight, but South Dakota would cut it
to two ten to eight. NDSU with a three from
Lukasuki to make it thirteen to eight.

Speaker 2 (54:13):
They'd eventually lead nineteen to eleven.

Speaker 1 (54:16):
But then the Coyotes, who started off thirty percent from
the floor zero of nine from downtown, they started to
get their groove a little bit. They cut it down
to a twenty three to twenty game. They would get
within eight, but the Bison had an answer at the
other end from distance, bounces into the post for Noah.
Penderson faces up, jabs a shot, bag works on boom,

(54:37):
keeps all right. Andrewbos circles in. Lost it now stumbles
out for Mason Miller at three.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
Got it.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
Mason Miller knocks down his second three of the game
and the Bison have built down at eight point lead.

Speaker 2 (54:48):
Mason Miller with his second triple.

Speaker 1 (54:50):
The Bison made five overall in the first half, tying
Oral Roberts Summit League record back in twenty twenty three
for most triples in a season with three one hundred
and seventy five. After that, the Bison had the game
tied thirty to thirty after USD hit a three from
Caleb Stewart, but that was went to James Miller, the

(55:11):
sixth Man of the Year of the Summit League, hit
two back to back buckets into the post for Anderson
puts it up man misses with the right hand, got
his own miss put back back by Boom rebound caarms
after the lane.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
It's kicked out to Jamis of three on.

Speaker 1 (55:25):
The way god Is Davis Miller Berry's the right wing
three on the feed from Anderson, and the Bison regained
the lead thirty three thirty.

Speaker 2 (55:34):
Two, two twenty one to go in the half.

Speaker 1 (55:37):
Jamis posting up on every wine with the left hand,
ribble spinning jump shot is good.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
Davis Miller falling away on the right base line.

Speaker 1 (55:44):
He's got thirteen and the Bison lead by three, thirty
five thirty two to Jamis Miller leading all scorers in
the first half thirteen points, six for six at the
free throw line, Bison got a free throw from Trase
and Anderson to lead thirty eight thirty four.

Speaker 2 (56:00):
They were priming themselves to play.

Speaker 1 (56:02):
Defense as South Dakota had the ball with a shot
clock dark in the final seconds, but then senior Luke
Kasuki with a steal and score right before the halftime
hoard thirteen seconds. Swinding down in the half, South Dakota
holding for the last shot Bullock downhill around the corner,
stolen by Kasuki six seconds. Kasuke in the front court,
drives in left hand, laft gun Luke Kasuke, and transmission

(56:25):
off the steel and the buzzer sounds on the first
half forty to thirty four. The score after Kasumke's steal
in basket at the other end. He had five points
for the Bison and the Bison leaded by six at
the break against South Dakota. Those are first half fighlines

Details Welcome back to the Premier Center here in Sioux Falls.
Coming out of a halftime locker room, the Bison on
top of South Dakota on the coach's choice scoreboard forty
to thirty four. Sam Niederman Dexter Warner partner first twenty

(01:02:21):
minutes in the books, the Biason a little short handed,
the lead by six. Defensively really solid only held South
Dakota to thirty six percent from beyond the r now
joined by buyas an assistant coach, Luke Stragi Coach Dragie,
appreciate you taking the time, different lineup, No Jackson in
Tacari up by six at the break.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
What'd you see so a group that really competed, Holly fought.

Speaker 25 (01:02:48):
You know, we're somewhat limited with depth, but we've been
able to stay on a foul trouble and that's a
key against them is not to follow, so you know,
just to fund a way to score forty there in
the first half.

Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
That's that's the big number for us with this group.

Speaker 25 (01:03:00):
We've got to continue to attack those first eight seconds
in transition for us have been really, really good. We've
got to continue to get out, but we've got to
get him off the glass too.

Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
They're beating us on the offensive. Class. Welcome next to
a road game. Hey, good to be here. Sweet, you
got to.

Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
Be here, coach, tell us a little bit about you know,
you look at Jackson at Jakari. That's roughly twenty thirty
seven points a game that you're missing. How do you
like the guys stepping up.

Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
Taking some shots and maybe they might not typically take.
How do you kind of fill that gap? You're the
king of positive energy.

Speaker 24 (01:03:28):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
Listen.

Speaker 25 (01:03:33):
What helps us is that we're playing South Dakota and
they press, and because they press, we could play in
the full court and we don't have to score us
much in the half court situation, which, to be honest,
we would struggle with right now with this lineup without
Jakari and Jackson being able to find things for other people.
But a guy like Mason Miller, who doesn't can't do
his own off to dribble, but he's really good off
someone else. In the full court situation, you can find

(01:03:55):
some overlooks. Derek Dessett, who will struggle in the half
court to find his in a full court situation, you
can find ways to score ay the same way. So
it's really helping us. The fact that they're pressing us
is actually really good for us. As long as we
take care of the basketball, we're able to get possessions
and shots that we probably wondn't be able to get
in the half court.

Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
We get in the full court because they're pressing. Coach,
Thank you very much for thank you to the game.
Coach trage here with us. As the Bison come out
of the halftime locker room of a forty to thirty
four lead against South Dakota, it's a really big point
right there. Bison able to kind of get some of
those transition leak outs and it certainly led to some opportunities.

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
Yeah, it probably opened up some more scoring opportunities, just
like coach said.

Speaker 3 (01:04:34):
And also you just kind of look at the adjustment
for the NDSU was paid, Like we saw a lot
more postfeats th Noah Fenderson than we've seen in the
last you know, ten games for sure, just throwing it
down there, looking to a guy like him to make
some of those decisions. Go try to score a little
bit more in the blocker, make the right pass to
the open guy. Basically, what you can do is in

(01:04:55):
those half court sets, it might not go as well,
might not be as efficient, but you can essentially, you know,
plug a Noah Pederson into where you would have had
Jackson Money getting the post deed, replacing Jakari White out
of some action with a guy like James Miller coming
off of it looking to get him.

Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
A bucking Luke.

Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
Pasuki's been much more aggressive in the half court than
we've seen him without those guys out there, Dys, you
keep getting good looks, and I like, I agree with
what Quoch Stregi said that when you know that you
got guys that you don't have a bunch of half
course set scores NDSU, if they break this press, they
got to stay aggressive and just.

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
Look down hill. They try to go get one early
because they're getting good looks out of this press.

Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
Screak twenty minutes to decide who goes to the semi
finals to take on the regular season champion to Omaha
Bison forty South Dakota thirty four. Back underway here in
the second half of Sue falls South Dakota from left
to right. As you listen, Isaac Bruns right and the
key leaves it for Chase fourte forte between the legs,
Dribble makes it to the left.

Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
Task Mark kick out the Bruns for three.

Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
Rym Glassman's no good rebound jumped in four by Derek
Descett and here come to Bison.

Speaker 2 (01:05:59):
From right to left.

Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
Andy Stefano witch into the front court, chops the feet
around the screen from Pederson inside for Fetti. He swivels
it outside for Mason Miller and it got picked away
by Isaac Bruns.

Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
He drives in right hand layup is.

Speaker 1 (01:06:12):
Good, just able to lean in off the right side
of the rim, and that's twelve points for Isaac Bruns.
A four point game now and Sue falls forty to
thirty six in favor of the Bison.

Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
Full court press.

Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
Bizon trying to get it out of their own backyard,
and they had it knocked away by Isaac Bruns, who's
had active hands all game.

Speaker 2 (01:06:30):
Log it'll stay with NDSU.

Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
They have seven seconds to break the timeline inbounding from
underneath the basket. Miller looking in finds Kasuke and Kasuke
will bring it up the floor. Working on bruns zips
it across from Miller. He breaks a timeline, settles up
on the right wing, brings it back out, keeps the
dribble alive, finds Pederson left sideline, Kasuk inside Pederson midair

(01:06:52):
pass not in time. He knocked down Burchill inside the block.
And that's an offensive fallI charge on Noah. That'll send
it the other way to usd first on Noah first
on the bison here in half number two.

Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
To Jamis. Miller checks in, Pederson goes down.

Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
He is wearing twenty two right now after an issue
with his normal number thirty four uniform. One minute change
into the second half, Boom underneath lay up good two
point game, just like that forty to thirty eight bison
on top of steel by a noose.

Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
And now Jamis will try and inbound from right to left.
He finds Derek des set.

Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
He'll dribble it up the floor on Boom, picks up
his dribble and now clears to Jamis across the timeline
left wing. Andy Stefanowitz stefano WIT's working on fourte splits
the lane, leaves it for a de set and one
dribble and a lamp good. Derek just set working underneath
on the paint. Six point of the ball game. Bison
lead it by four forty two thirty eight. Here's Forte
on the left. Hash Mark drives in, puts up a

(01:07:55):
runner and bakes it in good Chase Forte with ten
points now back to two point game forty two forty.

Speaker 3 (01:08:02):
Still in favor of the Bison and Sam. This will
be an interesting lineup with Derek de sett In at
the five. NDSU's got a really really small lineup out
here right now. They're gonna have to be extra tight
on the glass, and I think they gotta stay aggressive
and try to get downhill against the bigger defenders.

Speaker 1 (01:08:16):
Jameis Miller drives in on the block, spinning fall away good.
Jamis Miller knocks down his fifteenth point of the game.
Is first of the second half, and the Bison insteentiaid
back to four forty four to forty seventeen forty two
remaining Forte Shark bounced feet in for boom, but a
whistle for a foul on the floor against North Dakota State,

(01:08:38):
it will go on to James Miller.

Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
That is his second in the team. Second here in
the second half.

Speaker 1 (01:08:47):
Burchill will gain entry to Boom in the right short
corner and had it poked away by Derek. Derek trying
to save it right in front of the press row
here on our near side, wasn't able to.

Speaker 3 (01:08:58):
It'll stay with South Dakota. Gotta love the hustle at
number thirteen though, huh the mine not North Dakota. Kid.

Speaker 1 (01:09:07):
Here's the entry to Forte in the right short quarter
driving baseline working on Mason Miller puts it up, banks
it off, no good rebound knocked out of bounds off
of USD last. That means Bison ball with seventeen and
a half remaining in the ballgame. Hey, Bison fans, score

Speaker 1 (01:09:38):
Other way to set on the block pumps a pass
out to any Stefanolitz. Stefanolitz on the right side of
the key clears to Javis Miller.

Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
Javis has it on the right sideline.

Speaker 1 (01:09:48):
Javis with fifteen points facing up on Paul Bruns takes
him down to the block, left hand dribble, pounding it in,
spins to the baseline seven to shoot, kick out to set,
de set, driving to the paint, hard jump stop up, fake,
puts it up, falling away, miss it off the back
iron and the rebound taken by Paul Bruns. Three minutes
into the second half, Bison by four forty four to forty.

(01:10:09):
Isaac runs in the lane, left hand layup good, tough
runner good for Isaac runs. He has fourteen, and the
Coyotes are back within two forty four to forty two.
Everybody watching on in Sue falls is. The Bison bench
parks out the offense. Assistant coach Luke Stragi sits back
down as he watches the funnel which feed the high

(01:10:31):
post of Jamis Miller tosses to Mason Miller four to three.

Speaker 24 (01:10:34):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
Mason Miller knocks down the three, the sixth of the
night for the Bison, the three hundred and seventy fifth
on the season, and it's forty seven to forty two.
Good guys, as forty scoops it in on the other
side with that three by Mason Miller, the Bison f
f tie in the all time Summit League single season
record for most three pointers three hundred and seventy five.

(01:10:55):
They need one more to break the mark set by
Oral robertson twenty twenty three. It's forty seven to forty four,
Bison by three after the basket by fourteen four minutes
into the second half, Jameis Miller top of the key,
Jamis around the screen from lu Kasuki.

Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
Jamis for three off the backside.

Speaker 1 (01:11:14):
No good rebound by Paul Bruns and a whistle for
a foul on Derek de set foul on Derek. That's
his second team's third of this second half, and there's
a timeout on the floor break in the action.

Speaker 2 (01:11:26):
Fifteen fifty remaining.

Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
In the game.

Speaker 1 (01:11:29):

South Dakota forty seven forty four on the Coach's Choice scoreboard,
fifteen to fifty.

Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
Remaining in the game.

Speaker 1 (01:13:09):
Sam Niederman, Dexter Warner Gleatnetz are with US Bison without
their two best players Jackson Money Is a Cardi White,
both done for the season with hand injuries. NDSU playing
short handed. They also don't have Brendon Watkins. They basically
have played just seven guys tonight decks and they have.

Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
So far soldiered out to a three point lead with
about fifteen minutes to play for a birth of the semis. Yeah,
and the big thing going forward, same as ndisu's gonna
have to stay aggressive. They haven't drawn a foul on
USD yet in this half. I know that they're low
on numbers and they've played a lot of guys a
lot of minutes. Guys got to continue getting downhill and
trying to draw some contact.

Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
Yeah, yeah, three pointer or may by Paul Bruns and
a whistle for a foul after the fact on the
box out for the rebound.

Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
The basket will count.

Speaker 1 (01:13:56):
So we are tied at forty seven, while foul on NDSU,
which will keep the ball with USD.

Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
Foal called on Noah Fenerson and that is Noah's.

Speaker 1 (01:14:11):
Second fourteen driving in no good on the lay up,
put back my Ashton Smith no good rebound front four
and grabbed by to Jamis Miller buys and have it
and here they come from right to left. Andy Stefano,
whit's high on the right side, knot it up at
forty seven winner to the semis to take on Omaha.
Noah with it out top with a bandaged left hand,

(01:14:33):
right wing for Stefano, which lops the post for Jamis,
catches deep scores off the.

Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
Right side of the window.

Speaker 1 (01:14:38):
Seventeen from to Jamis, Miller buys it back on top
forty nine forty seven, fifteen minutes to play. Paul Brunn
slashing baseline, kicks to Bullock. Bullock in the left short quarter,
angles into the paint kick, kicks it out to Paul
Bruns right in the key, pitches back for Bullock right
wing shot fake up fake once again. Now dribbles between
the legs, down on the block, spinning away, passes in

(01:14:59):
bitter Smith. Smith rowing in the post. But's it not
no good? But a foul called on Noah Pederson and
the Bison. That'll be the third personal on Noah and
quickly now the fifth team foul on the Bison. Fourteen
forty three remaining. That was the emphasis from coach Stragi
at the half. Have to find a way to keep
the Kayutes off the foul line.

Speaker 2 (01:15:23):
Yeah, and unfortunately that's two quick ones for Noah.

Speaker 1 (01:15:25):
Federson and Bison don't have much signs behind Noah's Aston Smith,
the big fellow for USD, sixty seven percent of the

It'll go on Caleb Stewart. That is his second and
that is the team's first here of the second half.
Man Sen, that's a good take from Derek to set
what he's got to do.

Speaker 3 (01:16:53):
If Derek de sets looking to get downhill, he's got
to be straight line drive, thinking score right away. He's
getting into trouble when he's trying to pivot six seven
times and get a shot.

Speaker 1 (01:17:01):
Derek just sat pounding it in the paint, and a
whistle for an offensive foul on Derek. He extended the
forearm shiver on Burchill, clapping his hands. He draws the
offensive foul and the Bison have turned it over for
the eleventh time tonight. It'll go the other way to
the Coyotes. So the foul on Derek and that is
his third, the team's sixth. With fourteen thirteen remaining, Stewart

Everwhine everwind slashing to the block, puts it up and

under twelve remaining in the ballgame. Andy Stefano Witz brings
it up the floor and he's picked up by Paul

Bison fifty seven South Dakota fifty four eleven seventeen to
play on the Coaches Choice Scoreboard. Sam Niederman and Dexter
Warner partner. What are you seeing right now? Bison led
by seven USD is gonna have an and one free
throw when we come back out of the time out. Yeah,
I mean it's just another run. And that's exactly what
this whole game has been. Team goes against a six

(01:25:17):
point lead, come back and get it NDIAC. He's done
it a couple of times.

Speaker 3 (01:25:20):
They just got to stay solid and with a team
like USD, like we've talked about, they scored at a
high clip, so they're gonna score some points. But you
gotta stay aggressive when you're India suit. You can't try
to let off the gas and try to just hang
onto this lead here. You gotta keep playing this style
of the game and lean into it, keep fighting for
another eleven minutes.

Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
Forte with a free throw and one free throw is
no good off the front of the rim, rebound by
it to Javish Miller and the Bison have the ball
still leading by three eleven eleven to play, make a wish.
Bison looking to advance to the semis to take on Omaha,
and he's the final witch on the left wing, circling
down to the corner, keeps it, pitches to Mason Miller.
He drives into the block men by fourteen, lunching on

(01:26:01):
his pivot foot outside, Stefano whits shot clock down to eight.
Stefano wits across the paint, keeps the dribble, spins inside,
scoops it up with.

Speaker 2 (01:26:08):
The right hand scares wow.

Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
Andy Stefanowitz with ten points a career high, able to
work down low and the Bison leading by five fifty
nine fifty four the freshman with ten points, four boards,
five assists. Here's Isaac Brunns on the right baseline, driving
and blocked away by the to Jamis Miller, and here
come the Bison. Off the loose ball. Andy distributes Miller

(01:26:32):
a right wing three. Yes, Mason Miller knocks down the
tray the knife of the knife for the Bison. Sixty
two fifty four good guys, ten to fifteen remaining.

Speaker 2 (01:26:45):
Paul Bruns clanks up a brick three.

Speaker 1 (01:26:48):
They're three of fifteen from beyond the arc and the
Bison have it with ten oh five remaining. Andy's speeding
in down the lay layup is no good, but he
got fouled crashing into the cameraman underdeath the basket. Looks
like he'll be all right and he'll go to the
line for a couple of shots. So Andy working on

(01:27:10):
a career best ten points. His previous career high was
six ten points on four of six from the floor.
His free throws come from the line left four of
five this season, now four of six as he misses
the first. It's also got six assists tonight after that
triple from Mason Miller, and.

Speaker 3 (01:27:31):
I think he's got at least five rebounds as well.
So Andyfonoitz is playing a really well balanced game.

Speaker 2 (01:27:37):
Four or five.

Speaker 3 (01:27:37):
Excuse me, I could be off on that, but doing
a little bit of everything, stepping up when his team
needs it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:43):
A night down, a couple guys, one more for Andy Good,
eleven points now for the freshman from minute Tanka, Minnesota
Bison lead it by nine with ten minutes remaining, matching
their largest lead of the game so far. Under ten remaining,
here's South Dakota pull up three points. Stewart off the
front of the rem no good, the three of sixteen

(01:28:03):
from beyond the arc. Bert shield down on the baseline
offensive rebound wrap around feed for Smith. His layup is
good count and plus the foul foul on the Bison
and Ashton Smith will have the hoop in the arm.

Speaker 2 (01:28:17):
He'll go to the line for potential old fashioned three
point play. Yeah, and that's Derek. This sets forth yup
sam Iss. He's gonna check out of the game.

Speaker 3 (01:28:28):
Those are two mistakes on those back to back possessions
or those back to back fouls for NDSU. If you're
gonna follow somebody, you can't give a soft foul where
they're still going up and easily able to make the layup.

Speaker 2 (01:28:39):
Two mistakes for NDISU. You gotta eliminate those.

Speaker 1 (01:28:41):
Smith's freight throw good three point play complete sixty three
fifty seven back to a six point game buys him
with the lead ninety five remaining. Here in the Summit
League tournament quarters and he's the final which the Frenchman
brings it up the floor behind the back dribble, working
on Caleb Stewart keeps it with his right hand and
a whistle for a reaching foul odds Stewart's guilty as charged.

(01:29:03):
That'll be his third team's fourth and the bias wanted
the sideline inbound Mason Miller will trigger it in, but
not before Caleb Stewart goes to the bench with his
third Isaac Bruns rhanners for the Coyotes, Mason Miller with

(01:29:24):
seventeen points. He's made five three pointers, matching his career
best and a Bison uniform buys a nine to nines.
He throws it into the corner, Mason looking for number
six off the front of the rim. No good and
the rebound taken by Smith. Here come the Coyotes from
left to right. Nine to twenty remaining in the ballgame.
Here's Bullock now top bullet, keeping the dribble with his

(01:29:46):
right hand, right foul and extended out signed for forte
forte top of the key. Wants a screen from Smith
fortee between the legs. Dribble attacks the lane, drops it
off for Smith, lost it balla is loose. Ball is
taken by the Bison. James Miller with the steel and
here comes Indysu right to left under nine to play
Bison by six, Mason Miller high on the right side,

(01:30:07):
Mason holding out top. He clears the Jamis Miller high
on the left. Now as Jamis keeps the dribble leading
NDSU with seventeen, he comes down to the left wing.
He posts up on Isaac Bruns with eight on the timer.
Bruns falls down and'll whistle for an offensive foul onto Javiis.
That'll be foul numbers two onto Jamison. We'll turn it

(01:30:29):
over the other way to USD. Man Sam.

Speaker 3 (01:30:34):
That one's a bad call because he started falling backwards
to try and take the charge before the contact was
even there from Javis Miller, that's a big time miss call.

Speaker 1 (01:30:42):
Ninth team foul on the Bison two with eight forty
one to go. USD is going to get in the
double bonus on the next foul against the Bison. Eight
forty one remaining of the Summit League Tournament quarterfinals, the
winner to take on Omaha tomorrow. On the Semis Bison
by six, and here's Forte time for usd Forte driving
in euro step, pitches off to Boom, Boom, right hand hook.

(01:31:05):
No good rebound by Jamis Miller, and here come the
Bison off the six rebound of the game for Jamis
Andy Stefanowitz into the front court. Andy driving in right
hand runner, no good rebound, clamp down by Boom, and
here come the Coyotes. Forte tracking into the front court.
Forte down in the mid post, posting up, wants to
clear out. He dribbles with the right hand, gets underneath

(01:31:26):
the basket and lays it home for two. Fourte with
eighteen points to lead all scorers. We've got a four
point game. It's sixty three fifty nine, still in favor
of the Bison. Under eight remaining cool court presses on
Jameis Miller in a trap.

Speaker 2 (01:31:38):
He pounces off of Isaac Brunns to take us to
the under.

Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
Eight media timeout seven fifty five to play, and there's
a break in the action. With our score the Bison

Speaker 2 (01:33:34):
They don't have Brendan Watkins.

Speaker 1 (01:33:36):
Andy Stefanowitz though he has stepped out by the point
guard spot. Eleven points, six assists and four rebounds decks.

Speaker 3 (01:33:43):
Yeah, Annie Stefanowitz has made big plays when NDSU needed him,
handling the press really well, playing a ton of minutes
and he's sprinting around. NDSU's flying back to up four
on the glass for NBCU, which is huge.

Speaker 2 (01:33:57):
Twelve turnovers, but they're settling in a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:34:01):
You gotta keep grinding and attacking this press, and like
you said, keep getting some transition looks because those those
are going really well for NDSU.

Speaker 2 (01:34:07):
Andy Su from right to left. As you listen, they're
into the front court.

Speaker 1 (01:34:10):
Javis Miller early three cameras, a round it out volleyball
tip by Fenderson out to Stefanowitz, buys him with a
reload and they whip it over to Javis back outside
for Stefanowitz. Shot clocked down to twelve, hand off to
Javis inside for Fenderson.

Speaker 2 (01:34:25):
He's in a double team and now I whistle for
a foul.

Speaker 1 (01:34:27):
I'm Bertuell called for the block. Max Bertuell called for
the foul that will be his third and the team's fourth.
Here in the second half, its seven thirty four to go.
Buys an inbound right baseline. Stefano Witz bounces in Javis
Miller on the right block, extended working on Forte left

(01:34:50):
hand dribble, lost a defender and a whistall for a
blocking foul on Forte. Javis was working down on the block.
The Coyote fans don't like by the Bison will take
it and say thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:35:02):
That is the second on Forte and the fifth on
the Coyotes.

Speaker 3 (01:35:07):
Yeah, and Sam I like that call because he's basically saying, hey,
you guys got to quit flopping on these post entries
give it a block that usually puts an end to
the charge.

Speaker 1 (01:35:14):
Calls Jamis one on one with Forte once again, same
spot as Jamis regathers a dribble, now faces up, attacks
the angle, spins, puts it up, scars off the right
side of the glass to Jameis Miller and one back
at it again. Here in Sue falls his nineteenth point
in the game and the Bison re extended lead to
six sixty five fifty nine. Tough take by Javis, the

points for javiis sixty six to fifty nine.

Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
Good guys.

Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
Seven eighteen remaining Coyotes bring it up the floor from
left to right with forty After controls Forte between the legs,
driving down right in the lane, he kicks it down
for Isaac Bruns pulls up three pointer his brick and
the rebound is taken by Andy Stefano, which they cannot
hit from the outside. They're three of seventeen. Here come
the Bison from right to left, leading it by seven.

(01:36:13):
Kasuki corner three bulls eye. He knocks it down jack
pot for the Bison, a potent so four point play
as Pops.

Speaker 2 (01:36:23):
Knocks down the corner.

Speaker 1 (01:36:24):
Three sixty nine fifty nine good guys, six fifty six
remaining at Sioux Falls.

Speaker 2 (01:36:33):
Oh, I love it.

Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
Look at Kasuki with a smile at the free throw line.
He's got a chance for another Bison special. It could
be a four point play if he makes the free throw.

Speaker 2 (01:36:45):
It's sam. We've talked about this all year with Adsu.

Speaker 3 (01:36:49):
The way these guys shoot a ton of threes, it
seems like they always have a four point play at
some time. That is just a huge momentum swing for him.
Luke Kasuki gets another one in the corner. That's kind
of I think he's made like five or six of
them there this year in that right corner.

Speaker 1 (01:37:04):
He cannot complete the four point play, but we'll take
the ten point lead. Sixty nine fifty nine buys it
up by double digits, six forty eight to go. Entry
feed for Boom down the block and he misses, but
he gets fouled with some help coming across buy kasuop
Ke casup Ke called for the foul.

Speaker 2 (01:37:21):
That's gonna be Luke's first or second I beg your pardon.

Speaker 1 (01:37:27):
Team foul number ten, so that means double bonus the
rest of the way for South Dakota. Here's Boom twelve
points on the day two of two at the foul line.
Puts it up good sixty nine to sixty boom around

(01:37:47):

got fourteen buys a lead down to eight six forty
six to get the job done. Mason Miller gets it
in for kasoup Ke finds Mason back on the baseline
and he'll have to bring it up with five seconds
pitches just to Fanowitz Andy able to break into the

(01:38:08):
front court. Nicely done, six thirty five winding down on
this second half clock winner to take on Omaha and
Jamis driving in layup is good. Twenty two points for
Jamis Miller. Seventy one sixty one at fair on the Bison.
Here's Caleb Stewart's driving in dishes in the corner. A
three by Paul Bruns is good and a timeout quickly
taken by Eric Peterson and South Dakota seventy one sixty

(01:38:31):

got fouled by USD. So they'll go to the freight
throw line and have one and one. Mason Miller at
the line left. He's got seventeen points tonight and he
has one in one seventy six percent. Gets the front

(01:40:05):
roll to make it seventy two to sixty four. Bison
lead it by eight. No Jacari White, no Jackson Mooney,
both done for the year. Short handed Bison squad leads
by nine. As Mace knocks down the second free throw,
he has nineteen points and the Bison lead at seventy
nine or seventy three sixty four. Stewart hanging in the air,

(01:40:27):
had his shot blocked by the Bison, and Andy su
has it in the back court. They loop it ahead
for Stefano Witz and Andy will bring it across the
time straight with six minutes to go, Jameis Miller right

He goes in and slams it down with two hands
seventy five sixty four. Now with a big time flush
and Bullock leaves a layout by the lip of the rim,
rebound jungled around by Boom, stearing a three no good
rebound fut four and a foul called on USD.

Speaker 2 (01:41:10):
Good defense bying the Bison.

Speaker 1 (01:41:12):
Boom called for the over the back and that means
no one and the Bison are gonna have one and
one at the other end.

Speaker 2 (01:41:17):
Five point thirty to play. We're up by eleven. Same.
I think Andy Stefanowitz is actually cramping. I don't think he.

Speaker 3 (01:41:35):
I thought maybe he rolled his ankle, but I think
he might be cramping up a little bit. Yeah, he's
off on the bench. Good eye, I didn't see that
for a second. He's drinking some water, trying to walk
it off. If the Bison weren't already injured enough.

Speaker 1 (01:41:48):
Fedderson won and one free throw short off the front
of the rim, and here comes USD. Bison up by eleven.
Pull up three by Bruns knocks it down seventy five
to sixty. Bison lead cut down to eight, five point
fifteen to go. It's gonna feel like an eternity against
the Coyotes. Press and here it is at it's past

(01:42:09):
with Bullet getting the steal, time out taken by Eric Peterson.

Speaker 2 (01:42:14):
Time out on the floor, and we'll keep it right here.

Speaker 1 (01:42:18):
With five h nine remaining, USD will have the ball
seventy five sixty seven Bison five oh nine remaining in
the quarters. Basketball and banking have a lot more in

(01:43:24):
five O nine?

Speaker 2 (01:43:26):
Yeah, Like I was saying in that last break. Sam.

Speaker 3 (01:43:28):
What INDIASU has to do here is even though you're
up by eight right now with five minutes left in
this game, you can't let off the gas and just
try to hang on and win, because that's exactly how
USD goes on a run and they start turning you
over because you're not attacking their pressure with pressure.

Speaker 2 (01:43:44):
You gotta stay aggressive even if you have a lead.

Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
You can't try to hang on here. And I think
you gotta look at guys that are playing really well.
By know, a guy like Javis Miller has got to
go get a few more buckets to steal this thing up.
And Andy Stefanowitz has got to handle that press and
bounce comes to Forte.

Speaker 1 (01:43:58):
He drives in, had his shot swam by Feedersen, but
not before a foul against the Bison.

Speaker 2 (01:44:05):
It'll go on Mason Miller. That is Miller's third and
do you see you well over the limit.

Speaker 1 (01:44:12):
Forte will have two shots eighteen points for him six
of eight at the free throw line. The first one
is good, seventy five to sixty eight. Bison lead trimmed
down to seven, one more coming for fourty First team
All Seven League in the league's defensive Player of the Year.

(01:44:34):
He knocks it down, makes it both seventy five sixty nine.
The lead is six for NDSU with five zero five
to play on the Coach's choice scoreboard. Mason Miller, with
the inbound from right to left, fights Stefanowitz in the
corner back for Miller and he dribbles across out of
the front court gives it back to Stefanowitz high on

(01:44:54):
the left side, working on Isaac Bruns now for kasouo
Key left Wayne Kasubke on the baseline for Javis, and
he had his pass knocked out by Bruns. It'll stay
with the Bison. Fifteen on the shot clock. Miller will
win bound shaded by Forte, finds James Miller out, Tom

(01:45:15):
Hans back for Mason, whips it a Kasuke inside for Federson,
pass deflected by Bert Shoe into the hands of Miller.
Seven on the timers stefanal WIT's left wing straight away.
Jamis with five driving down a lane and he left
it for Federson, but draws a whistle at the last
moment against USD foul on Paul Bruns. That is his

(01:45:38):
fourth and the team's tenth, So Bison now in the
double bonus for the last.

Speaker 2 (01:45:44):
Four thirty eight.

Speaker 1 (01:45:46):
To Jamis will get two shots at the line left
seven of seven at the line so far Tonight puts
it up and knocks it down, make it eight for eight.

Speaker 2 (01:45:55):
He has twenty three all free throws.

Speaker 3 (01:45:59):
Tonight of the Bison presented by First Western Bank and
Trust you can bank on us.

Speaker 2 (01:46:03):
Here's the second short off the front of the rim
and the.

Speaker 1 (01:46:07):
Rebound to USD four p Thirty four to play winner
to the semis to face Omaha Bison by seven. And
here's USD in the front court right Forte posting up.
Miller down on the block, puts it up and missed it.
Rebound taking by Mason Miller, Bison Heavin with four to
twenty remaining lading at seventy six sixty nine. Crowd is quiet,

(01:46:27):
and that's a good thing with the majority of the
fans and as far as their rooting interests being USD
in his first game, that's code for there's a lot
of bluid here right now. Here's James Miller on the
right wing, Jamis slashing in the lane. He puts it
up and scars right at the ten. Jamis Miller a
new career high. He has twenty five and the Bison

(01:46:49):
leads seventy eight sixty nine, three point fifty two to go.
Here's Burchhill on the right wig right corner for Paul.
Bruns runs behind the back right corner. Burchill drives the
base line, whips it outside steward rotation for forty.

Speaker 2 (01:47:02):
His three is good and it's seventy eight to seventy two.

Speaker 1 (01:47:06):
Unsd with hit six three thirty five to go, pies
it with the inbound against the pressure. It comes to
the cool, calm and collected freshman and He'stefanowitz brings us
across the halfway line in the front court, working on Bruns.
Andy with the right hand dribble. Andy at the top
of the key clears to Kasubke. Kasuke down to the

(01:47:27):
left wing outside for Andy right wing Mason Miller, Miller
back for Jamis. Miller thought about the three, sizing up
forty eight to Sue, whips it Kasuke left side three
rim glass miss rebound tapped out by Pederson.

Speaker 2 (01:47:41):
Jamis has it three to zero one to go.

Speaker 1 (01:47:43):
Bison with a relow they can bleed more clock, leading
it seventy eight seventy two Jamis on the right wing.
He attacks right baseline and his shot is knocked out
of bounds off of forourt a lass. It will stay
with NDSU time out on the floor. Two fifty two
remaining and we'll keep it right here. Nine seconds to

(01:48:05):
shoot for the Bison to lead by six. It's the
final four minutes presented by Petro Serve USA. You're a
locally owned official convenience store of Biason Athletics makes everyone

Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
Petro Serve USA helping America fuel better.

Speaker 3 (01:48:32):
Yeah, and Sam, I love what NBS is doing right
now because essentially they're just saying, all right, our guy,
Javis is having a game. We're gonna try to run
our action, and then if we get down to the
end of it, we're gonna give them the ball and
get out of the way.

Speaker 2 (01:48:44):
One. It's working for him right now.

Speaker 3 (01:48:46):
Javis Miller's making really good decisions getting downhill trying to score.
But secondly, when they're doing this, the clock is on
your side here. Noah Fedderson had another huge tip out
and that takes you down every single time that you
can bleed clock on these possessions, which is exactly what
coach Dreggi was telling us about at halftime, is that
they don't necessarily a few of these guys can't go

(01:49:07):
get their own look in the half court.

Speaker 26 (01:49:10):
So what do you do?

Speaker 3 (01:49:11):
Find somebody that can go get you look in the
half court. That's what Javis Miller has been doing this
entire second half for NDSU. Gonna need a couple more
out of them. Like I told you coming out of
that last dead ball, if you can just go get
if you can go get a bucket right here, this
puts you under three minutes, you get a stop, you're
up eight.

Speaker 2 (01:49:30):
You're in a really good spot to just.

Speaker 3 (01:49:33):
Not have to do anything crazy to hang onto the lead,
and then USD is going to have to get into
desperation modes, start chucking, and that's when you just got
to be really, really smart, make your free throws, and
keep making good decisions down the stretch to.

Speaker 1 (01:49:43):
Jamis with a new career high twenty five points. His
previous mark was twenty three against Eastern Washington last January.
He's a eight of thirteenth on the field eight of
nine of the freight throw line buys it out, shooting
USD forty nine percent to forty NDSU ten to twenty
one from beyond the arc compared to USD six of
twenty one. And now we re regather with the Bison

(01:50:05):
up seventy eight seventy two two fifty two remaining both
teams in the double bonus nine to shoot for the Bison.
They inbound on the baseline outside to Jamis. Here he
goes with six on the timer, driving in down to
the block against forte follow a jumper baked it up
strong greybound taking my bullock, and here comes USD Bison
by six bullocks speeding into the front court. Is shot

(01:50:26):
smothered by Javis, but a lot of body in addition
to the ball, and that means a foul on the Bison.
Bullock will go to the free throw line and shoot
two foul on to jabis Is his third and hears
you has been well over the penalty for a minute,
and Dre Bullock will have two shots at the line

(01:50:46):
right seventy six percent. He hasn't shot a free throw tonight.
He hasn't made a basket tonight. He's zero of nine
from the floor. The senior from North Carolina puts it
up and he knocks it down his first point. With
two thirty nine to play in the second half, seventy
eight to seventy three, Bison by five, and Yesu puts

(01:51:07):
in Derek to set again as Noah Pederson will go
to the bench. Derek to box sound against Isaac Browns
on the lane left. Javis will be responsible for forty.
On the lane right, Bullock with his second free throat
is no good. Three bounds secured by to set good
box out and now he tries to dribble off the
far sideline. He does into the front court. Derek, speeding

(01:51:29):
all the way to the basket, lost it off of
his shoe out of bounds underneath the basket, a critical
turnover by the Bison.

Speaker 2 (01:51:36):
With two thirty one to play, Derek had the rebound.

Speaker 3 (01:51:42):
Drove all the way to the other basket and lost
it out of bounds and now USD with the ball
trailing by five, two thirty one remaining, Bison trying to
find a way into the semi finals to take on
Omaha Kayot's on the front court right with forty circling
down the lane, puts up a tough runner and banks it.

Speaker 1 (01:52:03):
In his twenty bit point has made it a one
score game. It's seventy eight to seventy five. As the
crowd comes to life inside the Premier Center. Buyson by three,
two eleven remaining, and he trained to bring it up
the back court. He's across the logo in another front court,
settles up and now where hesets to Javis Miller two

(01:52:23):
oh three. Counting down in regulation, Buyson by three, Javis
with twenty five, keeping the dribble in the right corner,
he kicks it out to Mason.

Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
Miller shut clock down to ten.

Speaker 1 (01:52:33):
Kasuki on the left wing straightaway Stefinalitz shut clock got six,
a deep three on the way Karen's out, no good
rebound gathered by Forte. Here comes South Dakota Forte into
the front court. Forte driving in runner, no good, put
back good and one. Forte hung in the air, missed
the first but got his second. He scores and he

(01:52:55):
got fouled by Lebyason. Basket counts. You'll have a chance
at tie the ball game at the free throw line
at seventy eight, seventy seven, nine remaining, and now Dave
Richmond wants to take a time out before the free throw.
Bison have three timeouts remaining. Meanwhile, USD none and now

(01:53:23):
in DSU will be granted the full time out and
they'll look things over. NDSU zero for its last four,
it's an eight nothing run by the Coyotes forte with
the and one, it will have a chance to tie
coming out.

Speaker 2 (01:53:37):
Of the break.

Speaker 3 (01:53:40):
Well, obviously, we just had this conversation a couple of
minutes ago, Samon that didn't go how we wanted.

Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
To see it be executed. But you're NDSU.

Speaker 3 (01:53:48):
You're still going to be in a tie game here
if the free throw goes down or you're going to
be up one. Same thing, you still got to attack
the press and go get a good look.

Speaker 2 (01:53:57):
I think that.

Speaker 3 (01:53:57):
Ndia's got to look for one a little bit more
out of their action here, because now USD on that
last possession we saw they had everybody sold out on
the help side trying to stop Javis Miller from getting
a bucket. I'll be interested to see what coach Sdragi
draws up here out of this timeout, because you could
do something like that, but then you got to get
the right guys on the on the spots where if

(01:54:18):
you put someone like Mason Miller here over on the
help side, then his defender can't be in the help
side on the other side of the paint, which is
where Luke Kasuki's defender was last possession. You gotta go
get a good look here in Indiasu's gonna need a
big bucket after this free throw attempt.

Speaker 1 (01:54:33):
Bison seventy eight, South Dakota seventy seven, with one thirty
nine remaining in the second half, both teams in the
double bonus possession arrow favors the Bison.

Speaker 2 (01:54:43):
Two timeouts for the Bison, none for South Dakota.

Speaker 1 (01:54:47):
Foul trouble Derek Descent has fouled out of the game
for INDYSU to Javis Miller. Noah Fenderson and Mason Miller
each have three USD has two guys.

Speaker 2 (01:54:58):
With four that would be Burchill and Paul Brudd's four.

Speaker 1 (01:55:01):
To eight at the line right with a chance to tie,
he spins the ball, puts it up and missed it rebound,
taking my eyes at Bruns and then dug out by Javis.

Speaker 2 (01:55:11):
Bison have it, but.

Speaker 1 (01:55:12):
He threw it away stowing my bullock layup is good
count it another whistle and another foul on ind su
Dre Bullock with the steel and score South Dakota a
ten to nothing run.

Speaker 2 (01:55:26):
The Coyotes with the leads seventy nine seventy eight.

Speaker 1 (01:55:34):
All the Coyote fans in reds standing on their feet
in the Premiere Center. The Bison initially on the rebound
but to Javis threw it away and Bullock with the
free throw here it is no good off the front
of the ram rebound taking my Fenderson. One thirty remaining
in regulation. Bison need to stop the run. They trailed

(01:55:55):
by one. Stefanowitz hands it off to a soup keep
top of the Keith Fedderson person at the high post,
picks it up, kicks it out Stefanowitz and Andy is
fouled with one seventeen to go. Bow on Bullock that
is his third and that means free throws for the Bison.

(01:56:15):
Two coming up for Stefanowitz at a one point deficit.
Andy at the line, left one up, two at the line.
Tonight puts up the first. It's good and we're tied
once again, seventy nine to seventy nine. One more coming

(01:56:37):
for the rookie from Minnetonka, Minnesota, making just his fourth
career start tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:56:43):
He bends anees, puts it up. It's good, and the Bison.

Speaker 1 (01:56:47):
Are back on top, eighty to seventy nine, one seventeen
remaining at Sioux Falls. Bison d up, everybody on their
feet forte at the top of the key forte right
wing for Brun slashes in lay up is blocked, but
then a whistle for a fowl on Fenderson and indysu
bow goes against Noah. That's his fourth and Bruns will

(01:57:10):
be at the line shooting two. With one oh six
to play and the Bison leading it eighty to seventy nine.
Bruns at the line right eighty four percent. He bends
at ease, puts it up. Good, tie game once again,

(01:57:30):
eighty apiece.

Speaker 2 (01:57:32):
How's a heart rate doing?

Speaker 3 (01:57:35):
Calm steady, baby, it's march. Come on, that's right, been
here before. Let's see what Bruns does here on the
second it is up.

Speaker 2 (01:57:42):
It is good.

Speaker 1 (01:57:43):
He makes them both and the Bison trail eighty one
to eighty one oh six remaining. Bison down by one
and they'll go up against the full court press. Mason
Miller gets it in for Jamis Miller. Jamis has it
and he drives up in the backboard, picked up by Brons.

Speaker 2 (01:58:03):
One minute ago in.

Speaker 3 (01:58:04):
Regulation, Byson trail it by one.

Speaker 1 (01:58:07):
Jamis on the right wing, driving in spins, puts it
up and miss it off the backboard. Bot a whistle
for a foul on South Dakota. Foul on Caleb Stewart.
That's his fourth and to Jamis Miller will have two
free throws and a chance to get the Bison back
on top. To Jamis Miller, who was the hero two

(01:58:30):
years ago when the Bison beat USD in the Summit
League Tournament.

Speaker 2 (01:58:35):
His first free throw is no good.

Speaker 1 (01:58:39):
It hit the front of the rim, bounced one more time,
and then spilled off the left side.

Speaker 2 (01:58:45):
No good. Still a one point deficit, USD on top.
Jamis will get.

Speaker 1 (01:58:52):
One more, gets the ball from the official staggers the
right foot forward puts it up good. Tied up at
eighty one, fifty four seconds to go. USD with the
ball from left to right, Bison d up in the
half court winner to the Semis tomorrow to take on Omaha.
Here's Forte with nineteen on the timer, steadily dribbling it

(01:59:13):
with the right hand now around the screen.

Speaker 2 (01:59:15):
Gets to the basket.

Speaker 1 (01:59:16):
Layup is no good, and I'll whistle for another foul
against the Bison.

Speaker 2 (01:59:22):
They'll call it on Noah Fenderson and that will be
it for Noah.

Speaker 1 (01:59:25):
He has found out with his fifth personal and the
Bison are gonna have to go with Trason Anderson to
replace Noah, the true freshman from Lincoln, Nebraska. Instead, they'll

(01:59:45):
go with Jeremiah Burke, actually the senior from Milwaukee, for
his first action of the Knights.

Speaker 2 (01:59:52):
So JB comes into the game.

Speaker 1 (01:59:58):
And Chase Forte is back at the low where he
is eight for eleven tonight twenty seven points for forty
to lead all scores.

Speaker 2 (02:00:09):
In a tie game.

Speaker 1 (02:00:10):
At eighty one, his first is no good off the
front of the rim and then the back iron. We're
still tied. Thirty nine seconds to go. Forte will get
one more Burke and to Jameis Miller responsible for bouncing
out on the low block, forty dribbles puts it up.

Speaker 2 (02:00:29):
It is good.

Speaker 1 (02:00:30):
He makes the back end and USD has the lead again.
Eighty two eighty one, thirty nine seconds remaining. Bison will
inbound against the full court press. Mason Miller looking for
entry guarded by forty bounces into Stefanowitz and he's got
it picked up by Bullock. Everybody's standing in the Premier
Center as Jameis Miller holds out top.

Speaker 2 (02:00:52):
Nine second difference between game and shot clock.

Speaker 1 (02:00:55):
Bison down by one, seventeen to shoot, jamis behind the
back in the lane, lost it, ball is loose, a
tie up, a whistle, and a signal for a jump
ball possession arrow favors NDSU.

Speaker 2 (02:01:09):
They'll keep it.

Speaker 1 (02:01:10):
With thirteen seconds on the shot clock, twenty one point
nine on the game clock, and a timeout taken by
Dave Richmond.

Speaker 2 (02:01:18):
One more timeout remaining for the Bison.

Speaker 1 (02:01:20):
They'll have the ball down by one. Let's pause ten
seconds for station identification. You're listening to Bison basketball back

(02:01:42):
here in Sioux Falls. Bison trail eighty two, eighty one
on the Coaching Choice scoreboard. With twenty one point nine
seconds to go in the Summing League quarters, the winner
to the Semis to take on Omaha Bison down by one,
they have the ball to shoot twenty one on the

(02:02:02):
game one time out remaining for in DSU, as well
none for USD. Both teams in the double bonus possession
narrow down favors USD and the Bison will inbound from
underneath the baskets. Stefano Witz to trigger in with Burke,
both Millers and Kasuk his options and he bounces for

(02:02:23):
Javis on the right block shot clock at ten. Javis
down in the paint, puts it up. Man baked it up,
no good rebound, taking my forte and he gets it
to Paul Brun's clock is down at eleven. Bison need
to foul and they finally do what ten seconds to
go to James Miller called for the foul and that
is his fifth. Jamis has fouled out and USD will

(02:02:46):
have free throws at the other end.

Speaker 2 (02:02:52):
Jamis was in a lot of traffic, put up a
tough shot in the lane. It did not go.

Speaker 1 (02:02:57):
USD got the rebound and the Buyson had no choice
but the foul maybe a few seconds late to it.

Speaker 2 (02:03:04):
Dex.

Speaker 1 (02:03:04):
They'll have to hope that the Kyote smiths a free
thrower two here with ten point one to go, still
down by one.

Speaker 3 (02:03:12):
And the important thing for Ndasu too, remember here is
that even with these fruit throws, they're still going to
have a shot at tying up this game or taking
the lead. You gotta keep your wits about you a
little bit. Real question is who's going to take the
shot with right No Davis.

Speaker 1 (02:03:30):
Paul Bruns knocks down the first one two point lead
for South Dakota eighty three eighty one.

Speaker 2 (02:03:40):
Brunze will get one more. He dribbles, he puts it up.
It is no good.

Speaker 1 (02:03:46):
Rebound pinballs into the hands of Jeremiah Burke, a whistle,
a jump ball and possessing fabers South Dakota.

Speaker 2 (02:03:55):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (02:03:57):
Jeremiah Burke had the rebound on the block, but then
USD reached in to tie it up and they have
the arrow, so that means they'll have the ball with
seven point eight remaining.

Speaker 2 (02:04:08):
Meanwhile, Drey Bullock is down on the floor. He is hurt.
Dave Richmond signaling to his team, we have to foul.

Speaker 1 (02:04:21):
If we don't get the steal right away on the
ensuing inbound eighty three eighty one South Dakota seven point
eight seconds to go in regulation. Both teams in the
double Bonus Bison have the arrow now, but USD with
a crucial tie up and they'll have it underneath the basket.

(02:04:42):
JB will guard the inbound from Bruns. Paul Bruns inbounds
to his brother Isaac in the corner. He's immediately tagged
by Stefanowitz. That is Andy's second and he'll put Isaac
Bruns on the foul line, shooting two with seven point
two remaining, Gonna need him to miss one to keep

(02:05:05):
this within a three point range.

Speaker 2 (02:05:07):
Here comes the first for Isaac Bruns. It's up.

Speaker 1 (02:05:12):
It's good, eighty four eighty one and now a crucial
second free throw coming. Bison trail by three, seven point
two seconds remaining, need him to miss this one runs
with a second on the way, It is good and
the Kyotes lead it by war eighty one to eighty five,

(02:05:32):
seven seconds remaining. Chase Forte is saying don't fallom Bison
have to inbound from right to left. Kasoup Key will
inbound unguarded and he gets it to stefano Witz. Clock
is running Andy right across the timeline three seconds deep,
three on the way good, one point two seconds to go,

(02:05:53):
time out Bison, Andy. Stefanal Witz knocks down the deep
three and NDSU is not done yet.

Speaker 2 (02:06:01):
Bison within one eighty five eighty four, one.

Speaker 1 (02:06:06):
Point two seconds remaining, sixteenth point of the night for Stefanowitz,
who has set his new career high by a long way.
That is his third May three, the eleventh for the
Bison overall. And now they'll have a chance. What's the

(02:06:29):
conversation as they put two tenths of a second more
on the game plot one point four to go, have
a chance to guard the inbound here?

Speaker 2 (02:06:37):
And are you fouling immediately?

Speaker 3 (02:06:39):
Just not enough time yet? No, there's not enough time
where if they get a catch, you have to foul.
The biggest thing is that you're saying you want to
deny like crazy because USD doesn't have any time else
left either, So you want to see just any way
that you can contest and take this thing away.

Speaker 1 (02:06:54):
Bies him down by one one point four seconds remaining.
USD will inbound from left to right. Paul Bruns, shuffling
the baseline looking to get it in, finds Isaac Bruns.

Speaker 2 (02:07:05):
He triddles out the rest of the clock. The buzzer
sounds on this ball game, and the buzzer sounds on
the Bison season.

Speaker 1 (02:07:15):
NDSU heartbroken here in the Summit League tournament and eliminated
in the quarterfinals via South Dakota eighty five eighty four
of the final score, and despite the best efforts from
this bang dump Bison team that showed a whole heck
of a lot of heart, their season comes to a

(02:07:36):
close as they lose it by one and the closing
stages against USD. No Jacari White, no Jackson, no Brennan Watkins,

(02:08:01):
all injured between the regular season finale and this game in.

Speaker 2 (02:08:05):
The tournament, and a lot of foul trouble on top
of it.

Speaker 1 (02:08:09):
In the game, the Bison played every last second, just
not enough enough gas of the tank to move this
thing into the semifinals. USD wins it eighty five eighty
four of the final score here in suit falls. We'll
wrap it up in the recollectric postgame show next. This
is the Bison Sports Network from her for you from.

Speaker 1 (02:11:00):
The Bison falls short against USD in the Sunni League
Tournament quarterfinals eighty five to eighty four of the final score.
Sam Viederman, Dexter Warner with You and NDSU came into
tonight without Jackson Boney, without Jakari White, Brandon Watkins also
out Buyson very shorthanded decks. They put up a lot
of fight tonight, but they led for the majority of

(02:11:22):
the game to thirty six minutes to be exact, they
had the lead, but USD was able to grab in
the final moments and that ended up being the difference.

Speaker 3 (02:11:33):
Yeah, I mean, obviously not the result that you want
to see for NBSU tonight, Sam, But really I think
the thing that's frustrating about is that it was just
a few too many mistakes down the stretch, a couple turnovers,
and then you even look at the last possession where
NBSU gets a rebound that means they're going to be
down two with ten seconds left, you're gonna have an
opportunity to come get downhill.

Speaker 2 (02:11:53):
You're in the double bonus.

Speaker 3 (02:11:54):
And then Jeremiah Birch just didn't really have the rebound secured,
kind of holding it off to his side, didn't really
someone's behind him. USD basically just touches the ball for
a very easy jump ball, and that's what puts you
in that position. For how that last ten seconds played out,
you gotta give NDISU a lot of credit. I mean,
Andy Stefan Stefano Witz was cramping up. He had one

(02:12:14):
of his He had his best game of the season.
Davis Miller had a career high. Those guys had the
decks stacked against him the night, and they played really hard. Obviously,
would have loved to see NYSU win that one, but
that's gonna be a hard one to swallow no matter
how you look at it.

Speaker 1 (02:12:27):
To Javis, twenty six points a new career high, like
you said, decks, eight rebounds of the game, nine to
eleven at the foul line, eight of fifteen from the floor.
Ultimately fouled out after his final attempt, which could have
potentially put the Bison up by one. Mason Miller and
his final collegiate game as well, nineteen points, five of
nine from downtown Andy Stefano, which, like Deck said, sixteen

(02:12:50):
points a new career high, six to six, five rebounds
as well.

Speaker 2 (02:12:55):
You knew it was gonna be an uphill battle.

Speaker 1 (02:12:57):
The Bison led for the majority of the they hit
enough threes in the game, but as we talked about
with Coach Stragy halftime parter, it looked like there in
those moments where it became a little bit of a
half court game, and if to Javis didn't quite get
a shot at the rim. NDSU didn't have too many
answers offensively. We'd just see how that progressed the last

(02:13:18):
eight minutes or so.

Speaker 3 (02:13:19):
Yeah, I mean, really that's just kind of shows how
shorthanded NDSU was because, like coach Shraki said, they don't
they didn't have a lot of great looks in the
half court. Javis Miller was having a great game, so
you kind of just had deliver or die by that,
and he did just about everything he could have and
even you go back to that last shot attempt, he
would have gotten that final post move to go NDC

(02:13:41):
would have been up one instead of down one, and
that would have changed the whole landscape. So it really
did come down to that last shot attempt when NDS
was down one, and then it instantly turned into you
gotta foul and in your scrambling a little bit, and
you know, that really was the only option for NDSU
out of that timeout was to try and get Javis
Miller one more bucket to get the lead back, and

(02:14:02):
they just came up a little short on it.

Speaker 1 (02:14:03):

Speaker 2 (02:23:23):
Let's take a look at the final numbers from this game.

Speaker 1 (02:23:26):
Bison shot forty seven percent from the floor, USD forty
two percent Bison eleven to twenty three from downtown. That's
forty eight percent USD just six of twenty one to
twenty nine percent. Free throws are a ton of fouls
called in the game. NDSU seventeen of twenty three seventy
four percent, USD seventy two percent at twenty one out
of twenty nine. Buyson turned over fifteen times in the

(02:23:49):
game that ended up being a huge factor against the
USD press. Those fifteen turnovers tied for the second most
all season long. The only time they had more was
seventeen against SAM for its full court press back in November.
Points off turnovers eighteen eight advantage four or USD remounting
advantage in favor of the Bison forty to thirty six,

(02:24:10):
second chance points fifteen fourteen in favor of USD, bench
points twenty nine to nineteen in favor of NDSU, paid
points forty two to twenty eight in favor of USD.
The Byson led for thirty six minutes compared to one
minute and twenty four seconds for USD.

Speaker 2 (02:24:27):
They led by as many as eleven, but unfortunately.

Speaker 3 (02:24:29):
USD closed the game on a twenty one to nine
run after the Bison led seventy five sixty four.

Speaker 1 (02:24:36):
Obviously, this is not the way you want to end
the season. It's not the way that NDASU wanted to
come into this game. With Jackson Money and Jacari White
going down, Brendan Watkins as well. Your heart really goes
out for Jackson and Jacari, two seniors who did not
anticipate their Bison careers.

Speaker 2 (02:24:52):
Ending like this.

Speaker 1 (02:24:54):
This is a special team that won twenty one games.
Unfortunately it just came to a screeching halt here this
opening round game.

Speaker 3 (02:25:02):
Yeah, I mean, I think you said it really well, Sam,
There's not really any other way to put it right.

Speaker 2 (02:25:07):
It's stinks.

Speaker 3 (02:25:08):
Those guys obviously were really excited to come down to
Sioux Falls and try to go on a run here
with just the magic that we've seen out of that
team this year, a lot of capability and like coach said,
a lot of great guys too that I think this
team did a great job playing together all year.

Speaker 2 (02:25:22):
They really had no issues with you know, locker room.

Speaker 3 (02:25:26):
The culture was good and the guys really liked playing
with each other and it was fun to watch, and
that was, like, I think, a big thing take away.
You know, I know Coach Richmond, he's a coach, right,
He's like, well, I don't care about how fun it
is to watch, I care about winning, But watching these
guys score the ball at a crazy clip even that
game was incredible to call. Really good product that NDSU
had out there this year. And you know, it's always

(02:25:48):
sad to see it come to an end, but what do.

Speaker 2 (02:25:51):
You do right? Twenty one wins for the Bison.

Speaker 1 (02:25:54):
They finished year twenty one and eleven and USD will
advance will take on at seven o'clock tomorrow night in
the semi finals.

Speaker 2 (02:26:04):
What are you gonna remember this team for? The most.
They set a single season record in threes.

Speaker 1 (02:26:09):
We gave him the nickname bombs Away Bison, and I
think there will be a lot of other things beyond that,
though for this group.

Speaker 3 (02:26:17):
I'd say I'd say the fun memory to take away
is probably probably the four point plays. I think we
joked about it all season, but there was a lot
of them, like more than I can ever remember calling,
and you know, always seeing the guys get excited and
they rally around each other, and that's kind of what
I was saying, is seeing it seems like a pretty
tight knit group. Obviously we don't see a ton of stuff,

(02:26:37):
but there's a fun team to watch, a lot of energy,
and a lot of wins. Twenty one wins is a
lot of wins in the season, So you gotta tip
your cap to usd Tonight, Indiasu came in shorthanded and
put up a big fight, but came up a couple
of baskets short and on the next.

Speaker 2 (02:26:54):
Year, on the next year, indeed, future will be bright
for the Bison.

Speaker 1 (02:26:57):
They will graduate the five seniors Jackson Lukasuki, Jeremiah Burg,
Mason Millard and.

Speaker 2 (02:27:05):
Why am I forgetting what? Jacari White of course, who
can forget Jakari a bigger pardon all of them wrapping
up their careers in the creating gold for the Bison.

Speaker 3 (02:27:14):
Congratulations to them on great years here at North Dakota State.

Speaker 2 (02:27:18):
We'll look forward to next year.

Speaker 1 (02:27:20):
It's going to be a lot of fun with the
likes of Andy Stefano, Witz back, Trason Anderson. Derek de said,
Noah Federson to Jamis Miller, I'm sure a lot to
look forward to, especially from what we saw from him
during the conference season in these last couple of weeks
as well. Partner, It's always a pleasure my friend. Thanks

(02:27:41):
