Speaker 1 (00:56):
Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome to the Betty Singlestad Sue
Center and Grand Forks, North Dakota. Today, the battle for
state supremacy is back on the line as the North
Dakota State Bison bet You're behind enemy lines for the
second straight game. It's a late season rivalry matchup in

(01:16):
the Peace Garden State as NDYSU get set for game
number three hundred and eleven against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks.
Good afternoon again everybody, and welcome to another Saturday of
Bison basketball along with the former Bison dexter Water. I'm
Sam Niederman. Glad that's are with us, partner. It's the
best time of year. It's one of the best games

(01:38):
of the year when it's a rivalry in this state,
North Dakota State against North Dakota over three hundred and
eleven matchups. When we're all set and done here today
and the Bison are going to try and complete this
rivalry road here after beating SDSU and Brookings on Wednesday,
they'll have an opportunity to sweep their two biggest foes

(01:58):
in conference and boy.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Win it would be to get it done here away
from Hope tonight.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
And like you said, Sam, step one, taking care of
business down in Brookings NDSU winning, They're put together really
good forty minutes gave SDSU their only loss of the
season in the new arena. Coming up here, got to
take step two. This would be another big one. Today
set the tone heading into the final week of the
regular season. Oh, why don't we go back to Wednesday?
It was a terrific performance by the Bison.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
They went to Brookings and knocked off South Dakota State
seventy seven to sixty eight. They became the first team
this season to win on the road and SDSU's brand
new First Bank and Trust Arena. They also snapped the
Jacks nation leading sixteen game home winning streak, and it
marked the first time that the Bison have won back

(02:44):
to back road games and Brookings since two thousand and nine.
Twenty ten quite defeat for NDSU and DEX. They looked
as good as they've looked all season long.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Yeah, that really was a championship level performance from NDSU
And I think the thing that I took a from
that game the most is that that was a level
of basketball where NDSU could go down to Sioux Falls
and find a way to win this thing.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
And the thing that is good about it is that
it wasn't a perfect game.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
NDIASU didn't have to come out and play their absolute
best basketball with no mistakes, so that means it's also
a replicable performance, which is big for NDISU. That shows
that even if they're not absolutely perfect, they can beat
the top teams in this league. And that was the
type of performance that I really think they needed confidence
wise heading into this last stretch of the season.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Dave Richmond was so pleased with the forty minutes that
he got from his group on Wednesday. They went down
and knocked off the jack Gravits with barely any time trailing.
They only trailed for a grand total of forty three
seconds in the game, and they led pretty much wire
to wire Defensively, they were really good decks.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
They held the.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Jack Graviage to thirty nine percent from the floor and
they held them under seventy points. That's been a big
betch mark. We know how talented this Bison offense is.
When NDSU holds opponents to seven many points. Their lessest season,
they're twelve to one, with the only loss coming at
Southern Illinois, and that was a game in which EDDESU
had one of its worst shooting performances of all time.
So you kind of put that one aside as an outlier.

(04:12):
What did you see? I'm a defensive end of the
floor that allowed ENDSU to play so well on Wednesday.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
It was just the execution standpoint, and we saw that
the adjustments that NDSU made going from Game one in
the game two against Garden, Cloff down low, they did
more of a double team. They threw some different looks
at him, which is kind of like what we talked
about on the show on Monday, where he's a good
enough player where you can't throw the same look at
him every single time because then he's going to figure
it out. So I thought NDISU did a really good

(04:38):
job switching up the schematics. And even though I thought
South Dakota State shot pretty well from three, they hit
some tough ones, but that's kind of that live and
learned a little bit. Even the ones at STC was
knocking down. NDSU made them tough. So it's about slowing
down Cloff as much as you can. And on top
of that, you can't be given up wide open threes
when he's making passes out of it. They made him
earn all those points that they got, and that so

(04:58):
put him in a position to win that game.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
On the offensive end, the Bison were nearly flawless.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
They only turned the ball over four times, which was
a season low and twenty nine games played so far
this season. Andy Stefano, which the freshman, got in the
call to start at point guard, he'll do the same
here today. He was cool, calm, and collected in a
difficult road environment, finished with three point six rebounds to
assist and no turnovers in twenty one minutes of action.

(05:24):
We're gonna hear from coach Richmond in a moment dex
I asked him about this during our pregame conversation.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
I'll throw the same question your way.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
When you can turn the ball over four times, obviously
that does you have plenty of help on the offensive end,
But how much does that compliment the defensive end of
the floor to make sure that you're set up and
ready to make a good stop.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
Yeah, that's the biggest takeaway from that is that not
only are you getting more looks on offense because you're
not turning the ball over, but on top of that,
when you take away turnovers we always called them catastrophic
turnovers right where that means that you lose the ball
and then the team's running down the other way for
like a fast break two where you know they're scoring
within that transition off of the turnover. When you take

(06:03):
those away, that really lets you get your defense set
up and then you're ready for the offense that's coming
at you. So you're getting more looks on offense, and
you're turning around and you have better position to set
your defense up for the team that's about to come
try and score on you. That's why it's so big
taking care of the ball, because it gets you more
possessions and you're also defending there it's even better.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Well look for some of that here this after Dude
eight Grand Forks.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
There's a handful of fans that have made their way
inside the Betty eaglestat Sue Center. The Byson taking on
UND for the three hundred eleven time in program history.
UND leads the overall series one to sixty four to
one forty six. The Bison won the first meeting earlier
this season in Fargo. Eighty seven to eighty two was

(06:45):
the final score.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
That was a game.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
If you remember that, NDSU shot a record forty eight
three pointers and they made sixteen of them on the day.
Forty eight three is being the most they have ever
shot at a single game. They were able to get
a double double from Jackson Bony You had twenty four
and ten to Jamis Miller also had a season high
seventeen points off of the bench. Those are two of

(07:07):
the key contributors on Wednesday night, Jackson was terrific with
twenty eight points on eleven of nineteen, shooting four assists
in no turnovers. To Jamis had fifteen points off of
the bench as well. We'll see if they can come
in here and do the same. The Bison are twenty
and nine on the season overall. Wednesday's win at STSU
is their twentieth of the season, the eighth time that

(07:29):
DSU has hit the twenty win benchmark in the Division
One era Bison basketball, the fit time in the last
eleven seasons under Dave Richmond as the head coach. They're
now nine to five in league playdecks with this game
and one more to go against USD that'll be Senior
Day on Wednesday night in Fargo. First time that NDSU's

(07:51):
won twenty games in the season since two thousand and
twenty two. Quite the accomplishment for any mid major. Dave
Richmond definitely spoke to that after the game on Wednesday
night at Brookings. Yeah, I mean, it really just shows
the work of these guys that put in to get to.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
This point in the season.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
You know, I thought they had a pretty strong non
conference schedule heading into the season, which is big because
that's what sets the tone for you to be able
to kind of take that next step earlier in conference play,
and obviously conference play has been a grind nine to five,
but I mean the conference has been solid all the
way to the top. We go back to those last
two games at home before heading down to Brookings. You know,

(08:29):
the last two the bottom two teams in the league
come into Fargo and put up a really big fight
and NDSU finds a way to win both of those.
So don't care a ton about the rankings this year
and in the conference. Indish has been playing their best
basketball these last couple of weeks, and that's what you
want to keep going into the end of this season.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
You Indeed, Meanwhile, they're part of that group bench in
the bottom half of the conference. Right now, they're ten
and eighteen on the season. Overall, they're four and nine
at summing league play. The Fighting Hawks have been Jacko
and mister High basically all season long. Look no further
than last weekend to find an example. Last Thursday, they

(09:07):
had Denver at home, and they went scoreless for almost.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Eleven minutes in the first half.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
They ultimately lose against the Pioneers sixty eight to sixty four.
Then they come out on Saturday. Their last time out,
they beat Oral robertson eighty eight to seventy seven. They
had three different players scored twenty or more points. So
when they're on, they can really get on what they've
been off though decks they've really been off. You saw
them in the first game in Viargo. They're a little

(09:33):
different than last year's team that went ten and six,
a record for them in the Suven League in terms
of wins, and what do you see in this und
bunches as far as the challenge that they present to
the Bison here this afternoon, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
I mean, I think a really good team or a
really good name to summarize this team would just be streaky.
And that's kind of what we've seen out of them
in conference. Like you said that Denver game compared to
the Oral Roberts game. But also, I mean I've played
in a lot of these games, Sam, I've been calling
them for the last few years. Like this ndsuun D
game always has a little more juice. And if you know,
when you walk in here right now, we're seventeen minutes

(10:06):
from tip it really doesn't matter who's ranked where. This
place is going to be just as juiced as it
was when Alabama came to town to start the season.
So you know, that's just the type of rivalry game
environment that you're walking into. This could be un d's
only win of the conference season and they'd still be
coming a juice stuff court, right, So, like this is
just a really fun game. The state gets behind it,

(10:28):
it's gonna be a huge crowd, a lot of energy
in here. So and this u's got to be ready
for the top performance out of un D because I
think they're gonna.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Get it to that.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
That three hundred and eleventh edition of North Dakota State

Welcome back to Grand Forks.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
We're getting except for tip off NDSU at und this
afternoon here with Coach Richmond as we preview the matchup Coach,
the rivalry road comes to a conclusion here today, final
road game of the regular season and should be a
fantastic opportunity.

Speaker 12 (13:58):
Yeah, I mean it's crazy, Sam, like you when you
say that, and you hear that from from my perspective
that we're towards the end of the February and towards
the end of this regular season and certainly goes fast.
And I think it goes fast because you're with a
bunch of great people. You know, we have tremendous staff,
tremendous players, and but you know this is a great
way to finish it up on a road, right. It's
everything you want college basketball. I think you got a

(14:20):
North Dakota team that's playing some of its best basketball.
It's certainly a rivalry. There's a couple of shades of green.
You like one or you like the other. And you know,
we're we're excited, you know, we're we're very proud of
the shade of green that we wear and we're excited
to represent that here this afternoon.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
But before we dig into the x's and o's of
the matchup, you're from the state of North Dakota. We
have multiple players a part of the program who are
from the state as well. You've seen this rivalry. What
does it mean on a day like this where it's
NDSU and U n D square and off.

Speaker 12 (14:51):
Well, I think sometimes, you know, we take it for
granted a little bit this day and age where we
speak to the transfer portal and and maybe some of
these don't fully understand. You've got some guys that are
experiencing this. Uh, they're one and only time. But what
we stressed to our guys and the mission of our
program is to serve others around you and make yourself
better along the way. And that's the legacy piece. And

(15:13):
and this this is this game is about those that
came before us. Those This game is about those that
bleed green and gold, the right shade of green. And
so that's what we're playing for this afternoon, and it's
a tremendous opportunity to do those things. It's also a
tremendous opportunity for us to continue to build into work
to that best version of our own selves.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Wednesday night was terrific with the wind down in Brookings, Coach,
I know you're looking for the next one and not
to get complacent. What's been your message to the team
to keep it consistent moving forward?

Speaker 4 (15:45):
Oh yeah, I mean there's there's that's a terrific win.

Speaker 12 (15:47):
Absolutely, you go into an environment like that in a
new arena, they I mean, Eric Henderson's done a tremendous
job there. They've got a great squad and so we're
not just going to brush that under by any means.
There's there's a ton of confidence that needs to be
built from that. There has to be an understanding of
what it took going into that to accomplish that feat,

(16:09):
and that's going to be the same thing we need
to understand that we need to build off of that.
But we can't just sit there and say, hey, you know,
we beat South DA Coast State on Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
Night, that's going to carry over. No, no, We're gonna
have to go earn this one.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
This afternoon, we talked a little bit about Noah Federson
after the game and what he was able to contribute
beyond the box score with his toughness and grid on
the interior.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Would you like about his performance?

Speaker 13 (16:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (16:31):
I loved it, you know, I really did.

Speaker 12 (16:33):
And again, I just as much as I loved it,
I love Fetti and it's my job to continue to
challenge everybody in our program to better to uncomfortable man.
Fetti responded tremendously to those challenges like he's done in
the past, and when he gets to a level where
he can challenge himself, that's going to be that good
to great moment for him. But the impact he had

(16:54):
maybe not necessarily in the box score, you know, although
those rebounds and box do show up, but just the
extra effort, the hustle plays, and I think the other
piece is it's a spirit play.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
It's a momentum play that our team builds on.

Speaker 12 (17:06):
And so big dunk you know on one end of
the floor, but more so those rebounds, those blocks, those
extra effort plays on the defensive end.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
You know, that's what we need from Fetti.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Four turnovers on Wednesday Night the fewest in any game
for US this season.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
I'm sure you would sign up for that the rest
of the way.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
How important is it to value the basketball and how
was it able to complement the defensive end of the
floor to help set up and make stops.

Speaker 12 (17:30):
Yeah, I think that's the point, right, And what I
mean by that is, you know, Dave Richmond's this krusty
defensive guy, and what you learn is your offense can
have a direct effect on how you play defense. And
I thought we were efficient offensively obviously to only turn
it over four times, one of those being a shot
clock violation that keeps the opponent out of some early offense.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
In South Dakota State, obviously.

Speaker 12 (17:53):
They play through cluff, but they're also very good in transition,
and I thought that was a big downfall when we
played South Dakota State and Fargo, and you know that's
got to continue to be an emphasis.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
We threw a freshman and Andy Stefanowitz.

Speaker 12 (18:07):
Out there in that environment, and I don't believe he
had a turnover that's great. We need to build off
and understand how those things impacted the winning part of
the basketball game Wednesday night, and how we're going need
to carry those things over here this afternoon.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Looking at und they're calling card as the offensive glass.
They're number one in the league, sixteenth of the nation,
averaging almost fourteen offensive rebounds per game. How do you
contain that aspect of their approach?

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Yeah, I mean, that's just that's a mentality thing.

Speaker 12 (18:33):
And I again, this is one of and I quote
unquote those games last time where we won.

Speaker 4 (18:40):
I didn't like that version of us.

Speaker 12 (18:42):
I thought we settled a lot offensively, and I thought
we got our tails kicked on the defensive glass with them,
you know, I'll rebounding us in, particularly on that offensive end,
And so we stressed that, and we got to continue
to make sure that we're forcing them into the right
shots from a Bison perspective, so that we're position to
finish possessions. And then we just got to have the
right mentality. You know, at the end of the day,

(19:03):
you just got to go get the damn thing sometimes,
and that's going to be a big emphasis here for
us this afternoon.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
We'll look forward to going and getting after it here

If you can bank on us North Dakota State and
North Dakota Live from Grand Forks. Glad that you're with us,
Sam Niederman, Dex, Sir Warner, let's check our keys to
the game this afternoon, Dex, you've been in this rivalry game.
It's heated and it's intense. You've grown up in this state.
What are the Bison need to do to get the
job done and keep it a Bison state here this afternoon?

Speaker 5 (26:25):
Yeah, you know, Sam, I'm gonna go back to kind
of my keys from the game from the last time
these two teams played. Indisu's gotta continue to attack the
three and take good ones. Right you and Das still
towards the bottom of the country, I believe in defending the.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Three point line.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Obviously, forty eight shot attempts against them at home was
probably a little bit high, but they were pretty good,
So I'd imagine indiasu is gonna have some more good looks.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
But the key is you can't fall in love with
the three.

Speaker 5 (26:49):
You gotta keep attacking inside out, find your bigs down low.
I'd imagine we're gonna get Jackson Mooney some touches and
leave the decisions to him to find those open shooters
if he gets double team, which I'm going to sit
he will at some point tonight. And then defensively and
just in general, got to keep you and d off
the glass. We saw that in the game back at
our place a few weeks ago. These guys crashed the
glass one through five and Dsu's got a gang rebound.

(27:13):
I think they've been doing a better job of that.
The last few games they were struggling on the glass
against everybody. They've really cranked it up. They're cleaning up
the glass. Gotta do that, elimited as many second chance
points as you can, for you.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
Indeed go get a win.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
I love the keys of the game, partner, three point
line and keeping the und off the offensive glass. Those
will be pivotal as the Bison brace for impact here

Speaker 1 (33:39):
His forty six percent from three breaks fourth best in
the entire nation. In the front court, Jackson Money is
the four man six foot ten senior from Fargo. He
had twenty eight on Wednesday. Buys at our twelve and
two when he scores twenty or better. His season average
twenty point nine points per game. He had twenty four
against und in the first meeting.

Speaker 2 (34:01):

Speaker 1 (34:01):
The center is Noah Fenderson six foot ten brat shirt

Rivalry about be activated. North Dakota State and North Dakota
the Bison behind enemy lines here in Grand Forks, Byson
in green, you and d and white. We're reading the
jump Center Noah Pederson and Bamboo Umara ready to go.
The official puts the ball up the fans watch on
and we are underway here in Grand Forks. The Bison

(35:21):
win the opening tap of the control from right to left.
As you listen, Stefanowitz the freshman works the dribble out
top left wing. Mason Miller picks up his dribble, feeds
Jackson Money jammed on the left corner one on one
with pinob He takes him down to the left block
extended working in the lane, puts it up from six,
baked it up strong. No good volleying out by Pederson,
Buyson agreload Jakaria three, no good offensive rebound. Pederson had

(35:45):
it for a moment and then it was jarred away
by Eli King. It'll stay with the Bison. Good work
by Noah in the early going on the offensive glass.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
Yeah, and your typical first nds. You look very basic.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
Pick and roll, popper place action, get jack Simonia postfeed
and look what they're gonna do too.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Early offensive rebounds for Noah Pederson. Great start on the
glass for him. Thirty seconds still scoreless. Bison, having in
the front court left to carry White at the top
of the key, tosses to Mason Miller right wing three.
No good, but a whistle for a foul. He was
knocked down by Eagle Staff. Foul on Trason Eagle Staff.
That'll be the games first and his first, and that

(36:26):
will send Mason Miller, one of the most dangerous three
point shooters in America, to the foul line.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
Shooting three.

Speaker 1 (36:34):
Mason at the line left seventy six percent and he
clips the first one.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
No good.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
He was really good for the Bison on Wednesday against
SGSU fourteen points four to three pointers. His second is good.
First points of the game belonged to the Bison. It's
one nothing, good guys, one more coming for Mason Miller.
Players anchor in on the line, he lets it fly
and knocks it down. He goes two for three and
it's two nothing Buison. With nineteen twenty one remaining in

(37:03):
the half und Now from left to right, Bison will
match up man to man on d put home. The
point guard dribbles down to the right baseline. Now he's
met by a double, throws it out to King. They
work it around the perimeter to Koluovitch left wing, Eagle Staff,
right wing King.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
He drives in, puts it up and.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
Dumps it down with the right hand eli King with
a poster dunk and we're not enough back to a piece.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
Just over a minute gone.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
Jackson Mooney, driving down in the pane, puts it up
on the right hand and got it to go. Jackson
Mooney won a tough basket his first points. Bison back
on top four to two just over a minute gone,
and und back of the front court right King, left
of the key, left wing Eagle staff, Eagle staff switched
on to by Stefano. Witz keeps his dribble, throws it

(37:53):
to King King of the left corner, backing his way
left of the lane outside Koluovitch shut clock down to nine.
Koluvitch drives in hard scoops it up with the right
no good rebound grant by Money and here come the Bison.
Good stop by Indysu back the other way, right to left.
Jacarry on the right wing, Tom of the key money
shot fake left hand dribble attacks the lane, spins, puts
it up on the right hand and missed it off

(38:14):
the back iron rebound taken by Kaluavitch. Jackson unable to
get in the post, shot to go. Fighting hawks in
the front court right, Panobe dives in the lane, puts
it up with the left hand runner No good. Kaluovitch's
follow was rejected by Stefanowitz. On the recovery, balls out
of bounds. It'll stay with you and d the defense

(38:35):
by Andy tracking back pinob will trigger in from the
right baseline, feeds Koluovitch on the right wing. He resets
back to Eagle Staff. Eagle Staff, third leading score in
the conference, throws a hard past, deflected and scooped up
by Stefanowitz.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
Buyson have it. On the turnover.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
They're into the front court left Jakari left of the key,
working on Koluovitch, circles out to the right side of
the key, feeds the poster, Feederson underneath the basket, throws
it up. No good, rejected from behind my Mara Lukes
ball scooped up by Eagle staff. Four two Byson early
going pino men transition juggles in the lane and a
whistle for a foul on the floor. It'll go on

(39:12):
North Dakota State and they're gonna get Andy with the foul.
Andy Stefanowitz's first, Andy SU's first.

Speaker 5 (39:20):
Yeah, Sam, that's just a little bit of a balance
and aggression.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
Noah Pederson down here.

Speaker 5 (39:23):
When he makes that post move, he's got to go
up and score that right away so that the defense
doesn't have time to rotate over and the helps that
got a piece of that one down here in UCU's
gotta stay solid play.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
Defensive out Fouling eagles Ham knocks down the pull up
jumper and it's down tied at four piece, seventeen to
twenty remaining in the half. Bison working in the half
court against a Manda man defense. Jacari right foul line extended,
gives it up to Mony right of the key, right wing.
Jakari driving down to the corner back to Mony, Money

(39:53):
with twelve on the timer, clears the Stefano Witz. Stefano
Witz right of the key pulls up for a three
ball off the heel, no good taken by Koluovitch. Buyson
zero for two on their first couple of shots from
downtown und in transition right ling Maarra he teas up
a three good seven to four You and ne with

(40:14):
its first points on the ball game and the Byson
now or first lead in the ball game. I should
say the Byson now trail by three under seventeen to
play in the half. Money down on the left wing,
working against Mara, posting him up right hand dribble, shuffling
his way into the paint, kicks out Mason Miller.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Straight away three bottom.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
Mason Miller one of the most dangerous three point shooters
in America. He strikes from distance and we're tied up
by seven, and.

Speaker 2 (40:41):
A really good read from Jackson Mooney.

Speaker 5 (40:43):
There kind of caught Tracy Eagle Staff and no man's land,
wasn't doubling, wasn't guarding the shooter, got it to a
wide open Maason Miller.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
The Eagle Staff with an answer at the other end.
Hey nuts down to three.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
That's his fit point and now it's ten to seven
in favor of und Jacari cutting the block. Has it
opened for a moment, now works on King, throws it
up with the right no good rebound. Kaluovich outlet feed
to Eagle Staff. He traps into the front court, works
on Miller and bumps into Miller, drawing a whistle. It'll
be a foul on Mason. With fifteen forty nine remaining

(41:17):
in the half. First foul on Mason Miller, second on
the Bison. There's a timeout on the floor, breaking the action.
With our score und ten NDSU seven fifteen forty nine
remaining in the first This is the Bison Sports Network
from lear Field.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Fifteen forty nine, remaining in the first half ten to seven,
und over the Bison on the Coaches Choice scoreboards. Samdederman
dexter orner with you about four minutes in partner any
early takeaways that.

Speaker 5 (43:13):
Stood down the first sequence, No, I think Idiotsu's just
got to continue to settle in a couple of tiki
tag bowels, like I said down here for NDSU, So
he's got to play defense without using your hands.

Speaker 2 (43:24):
But on the offensive end, NYSU has been aggressive.

Speaker 5 (43:27):
We had two low block looks for Jackson and Jakari
that didn't go, and Mason Miller missed another wide open three.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
So those are good looks. You got to keep playing
within the offense and go get some more good ones.

Speaker 1 (43:36):
Buys it on defense to start this sequence, a couple
of rotation guys of coming off the bench. Chess team
knocks down to the third three on three attempts for you, indeed,
and that's the difference. Biser down by six thirteen to seven,
fifteen and a half remaining in the first to Jamis
Miller feeds no, of Fenderson lays it up on the
right hand. Good Noah Fenderson knocks it down, rolling to

(43:59):

it's thirteen to nine. Un d' is still on top,
binds and defend and the front court right. Zach Kraft
has checked in as as dang Mayor Mara with a
shot fake on the corner, drives the basket, jams it.

Speaker 2 (44:15):

Speaker 1 (44:20):
Another dump for the Fighting Hawks, and this time it
comes from mambou Rou Mara six foot six cent of
Guinea backdoor bounce pass to Jamis. He throws it up
off the window. No good, but a whistle for a
foul on und. Fowl on und.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
They got Mara. That'll be his first team's.

Speaker 5 (44:39):
Seconds and Sam, I almost think Indiasu is overhelping a
little bit on the defensive end. Both of these dunks
and a couple threes have been off of you, indeed,
driving and skipping to the backside, and they're attacking the
help side. They got to stay home a little bit
more because I think they're helping when they don't.

Speaker 1 (44:54):
Need to as much as they should. Javis makes the
first free throw, it's fifteen to ten. We're down by five.
A couple of dunks early on for un d first
from King and then the latest from Mara. Jamis with
one bore and he rattles it down. It's good fifteen
to eleven. Buyson back within four fourteen forty nine remaining
Bison just three of its first nine from the floor

(45:17):
thirty three percent. Meanwhile, Und perfect from three to three
for three six of eight from the floor to start.
Eagle Staff shaking and banking out top right wing, King
right corner craft back to King. King drives in and
gets Kasupke hooks it in the lane from Nobody stolen
by Kazuke.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
Here come the Bison. Untransitioned.

Speaker 1 (45:34):
Jamis on the right wing, backing his way down on
Eagle Staff, keeps the load dribble with the left hand
banging in spins to his right, kicks out Miller right
wing three No almost went down halfway and then.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
Out raybound taken by Und fourteen eleven. Remaining in the half.

Speaker 1 (45:51):
Bison down fifteen to eleven. King has it on the
volleyball line working on kasukees checked in off the bench
for the Bison, as as Brennan Watkins dang Mayor right
wing for Mara. Mara dribbled it off of his own
leg out of bounds.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
That's a turnover. It'll go the other way to the bison.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
Today's game brought to you in part by bud Light,
proud sponsor of INDESU Athletics.

Speaker 2 (46:15):
Bud Light Easy to drink, Easy to enjoy. Darius Woodson has.

Speaker 1 (46:22):
Checked in for und six foot seven from Baytown, Texas,
nine points per game. Koluovich has also re entered with
pinole backdoor, bounced past James Feller, slams it down with
the right hand post her time for jamis and how
about that one to get.

Speaker 2 (46:39):
The Bison back with it and new is fifteen to thirteen.

Speaker 1 (46:43):
He was wide open cutting the lane and now Woodson
a three no good off the heel line drive rebound
to Mayor.

Speaker 2 (46:49):
He pounds it back inside, throws it off the glass good.

Speaker 1 (46:55):
Seventeen thirteen buys him back down by four thirteen twenty,
remaining in the half casup key on the left wing,
left of the key for Mony, Money gets a screen,
pulls up deep three on the way grit glassman is
no good and the rebound of Panova bisonar one for
five from downtown. To begin this one, here's Craft, the
red shirt freshman from Red River High School, top of

(47:16):
the key, Kaluovitch back to Craft, bounces to Kaluovitch, throws
it off from Mayor. He fumbled it, and it's dug
out by Watkins. Steal again for the Bison. Here they
come rain to left. Watkins for Mony, tosses back for Brennan.
Brennan outside left wing Jamis Shot Vacon Drive jumps up
in the lane, bounce past the Kasoup Key underneath the
basket working on.

Speaker 2 (47:36):
Khluovitch puts it up and one, no, wait, they're gonna
whistle it for a.

Speaker 1 (47:40):
Travel beg your pardon a travel on Luke Kasuke he
was jammed underneath the basket, and I'll give it the
other way to you. Indeed, Kasuk Key will go to
the bench and Jakari comes back. In twelve forty three
in the half Byson Trail seventeen to thirteen. Here in

(48:05):
Grand Forks, right wing, Koluovich takes it over to the
left wing, hands it off for Crabb. Craft keeps his
dribble and throws it off of Watkins, who is in
the passing lane deflected out of bounds. It'll stay with
und Hornbocker's providing you with the highest quality meat, produce,
bakery and more. Go to Hornbockers dot com to see

(48:25):

quality since nineteen fifty one. Crab no good on a
three rebound by Javis and here come the Bison. Jamis
brings it up the floor at the big dunk moments
ago four points off the bench behind the back dribble
goes to the room. Limus Is the layup rebound batting
to Jakari and the lane kicks out money trailing three

(48:46):
is no good rebound grant by Mason Miller. He zings
it out of there on the same but they'll whistle
that he was out of mounds on the baseline and
we'll go the other.

Speaker 5 (48:54):
Way to Unde and Sam. That's okay there. I mean,
that's two really aggressive takes out of Indiasu.

Speaker 1 (49:00):
Javis Miller big time move to get downhill tips it out,
you kick out for wide open three and Mason Miller
has an opportunity for the old board ndisus gottet energy.

Speaker 2 (49:09):
They just got to stay the course and get some
of those shots to start falling.

Speaker 1 (49:12):
Under a dozen minutes remaining in the first half seventeen thirteen.
Und they have the ball on the front court right.
Pinome drives the free throw line, dumps it down. Koluobitch
fins and puts it up on the right hand. No
good rebound taken by Watkins. Here come the Bison. The
whole bench watches on after they go and transition on
the stop outside. For Mony drives downhill right in the lane,

(49:33):
puts it up Bam bakes.

Speaker 2 (49:34):
It in with the right hand.

Speaker 1 (49:35):
Tony with his fourth point of the afternoon, and the
Bison are within two. Seventeen fifteen. Here's Pinob on the
high left side. He deals to Mayor. Mayor on the
right wing, driving against Javis Spinch puts it up from
ten way short and rebound gathered in by Watkins, and
here come the Bison. Three on three the other way

(49:56):
Watkins for Mony, Mony straight away, Money drives to his right,
keeps it on the perimeter. Now posts up on Mayor
left hand dribble, banging in with the right shoulder. He
keeps it he had it poked. Now he gathers outside
Watkins left wing Miller four to three. Yeah, Mason Miller
knocks down the three. That's his second and the Bison
regained the lead eighteen to seventeen. Nicely done by INDYSU

(50:23):
five on answer and they've got the lead back. With
ten forty four remaining in the first half. Here's Kraft
on the right wig. He skips it to nobody. That's
a turnover out of bounds it. He'll go to the
Bison when we come back. Time out on the floor.
Ten thirty eight remaining of the first half. Bison eighteen
und seventeen. We're back in the moment. This is the

Here at Grand Forks, Byson lead un D eighteen to
seventeen with ten thirty eight remaining of the first half
on the Coach's choice scoreboard. Sam Niederman, Dexter Warner here
with you. This one's already got some juice to it,
as we anticipated. Decks Byzon got off to a pretty

(52:24):
slow start. Offensively, Amazon Miller has got eight points. He's
humming along just okay, knocked down to three a moment
ago to give the Byson their lead again. Yeah, a
lot of energy to start this game, which is exactly
what we expected and kind of like we were saying
we went to break. I mean, you and D came
out and started this game about as well as they
could on the offensive end.

Speaker 5 (52:43):
And yes, you stuck with it and they kept grinding.
They finally got some open looks to go down here.
Really good start out of U and D. And you're
still up one, and I think you got to take
that out of these first ten minutes.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (52:52):
The Bison have now held UND scoreless the last two
minutes and fifty seconds. UND has turned it over four
times in the last four and a half minutes. They
have five turnovers and a half overall, Bison by one
eighteen seventeen.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
Watkins at the point from right to Bison and Green,
UND and White.

Speaker 1 (53:09):
Jacari White at the point driving on Mara works his
way down to the right block, extended left hand dribble
working him into the paint stubbles it out for Watkins
in the corner. A ball faking a drive underneath the
basket jams it out for Mason Miller, but unfortunately in
the pass a little too whine. It's a turnover by
the Bison. U and D will take over, just the

(53:33):
first turnover of the game by the Bison or second,
I should say they only had four, a season low.
At South Dakota State on Wednesday. Panob on the left sideline,
attacks the baseline, meets a double team, throws up on
the right hand and finishes off the window. Nineteen eighteen.

(53:53):
Und Back in the front, Mere Panome with his first basket.
Bason Miller left the key outside to Jacari White left wing.
Mason He'll try again from three halfway down and out.
It spits off the backboard and the rebound taking by pinolb.
He's two for four from downtown to start. Here's King
right wing. He'll drive in off a ball. Bake spins, fakes,

(54:13):
fade away from thirteen off the back guy an no
good rebound by Derek descent nine twenty nine. Counting down
to the half Bison trail nineteen eighteen, Watkins on the
right wing.

Speaker 2 (54:24):
Watkins keeping the dribble right wing.

Speaker 1 (54:26):
Jakari fires a three off the rim, no good rebound
taken by Eagle Staff. Bison are just two for nine
from distance to start. Everybody not named Mason Miller without
a make so far. Here's King on the right corner
outside Eagle Staff left wing. Mara Mara down in the
corner for Panob Panob looking in the post. Nobody's home.

(54:48):
He drives lost it balls on the depth. They scrapped for.

Speaker 2 (54:51):
It in the lane. Jaikari has it for a moment.

Speaker 1 (54:53):
Now a whistle and the official will say it's a
jump ball possession Arrow will favor und great hustle by
Lebizon getting out of the deck. It'll stay with the
fighting Hawks. With eight fifty five remaining of the half, Fedderson, Stefanowitz,
and to Javis Miller all re entered the game. Bony
descent and Watkins go to the bench for the Bison.

(55:17):
Pinobo imbound left in the basket. He gets the ball
from the official and loops it in for Eagle Stam
catches in the lane, puts it up with the right
scores trace an Eagle Stam With this seventh point twenty
one to eighteen, Byson trail by three, eight forty five

(55:38):
remaining in the first half. Stefanowitz, the Frenchman outside for
Fenderson right in the key, keeps his dribble, swims over
the top of a moving defender, pivots on his left
foot left wing.

Speaker 2 (55:48):
Jacari curling three on.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
The way, rattles it home to Kari White from downtown
and the Beason thinks up at twenty one a piece
eight twenty seven remaining of the half. Here comes und
with Pinome driving down to the right block, right wing
King and it's stolen away by Stefanowitz. Andy in the
front court bounces for Jamis, goes up scoops it up

(56:11):
on the right hand. Good to James Miller in transition
off the steel from Stefanolitz and the Bison and the
lead again twenty three to twenty one. How at the
freshman makings of plays defensively under eight to play in
the half, Bason Miller with a steal, he's got it
down on the deck and a whistle called for a
jump ball possession arrow will favor the Bison. That will

(56:34):
take us to the under eight media timeout, Bison benches
fired up for good reason. NDSU back on top twenty
three twenty one, seven fifty six remaining in the first half.

of nine thousand strong the first time in the ESU
and UND event back in the end of January. We'll
see what the Biazon can do coming out of the
time out. They have possession after getting a steal. UND

(58:49):
has turned it over seven times and a half already.
Byson come from rank to left. Addy Stefano Witz matched
up against fellow freshman Zach Kraft, hands off for James
Diller in now on Fetterson clear the deck two handed,
stuff flashing to the basket and the Bison once again
get home easily. They're up twenty five to twenty one.

(59:10):
It's a seven nothing run for the good guys. Well
done by the Byson King with a quick pass of
the corner Craft corner three off the front of the rim.
No good offensive rebound Mayor. He throws up the put back,
no good, but a whistle for a foul on Ndsu.
This is the third foul on the Bison, that's on

(59:32):
Andy Stefano Witz and that's going to be his second.
With seven twenty six remaining in the half. Meanwhile, Mayor
will be at the line six ' eight out of
Salt Lake City and he makes the first three throw
twenty five twenty two. Bison still lead by three, and

(59:52):
he will go to the bench. Brendan Watkins comes back in,
Pederson will go to the bench and Bony re enters. Meanwhile,
Mayor at the line seventy seven percent. He was one
of the three seniors honored before the game for UND's
Senior Day. Stankers are right foot forward, dribbles a couple
of times and knocks down the second. He makes them
both twenty five to twenty three, buys in lead reduced

(01:00:13):
in two seven to twenty four to play in the
first half. Watkins, now at the point, gives it off
to Jakari. Back to Watkins hooks it for Bony Money
and a double team on the perimeter finds Shakari corner
three on the way no good rim Glass miss and
the rebound taken by Eaglestaff buys it or three of
eleven from three point territory is sorry this one. Here's
Eagle Staff driving to the foul line left the block

(01:00:34):
before Kaluovich banging into the post puts it up on
the right hand and missed it raybound by Mony. Good
defense by Jackson to the bason. There comes NDSU in transition.
Watkins on the left wing tosses for Miller outside for Mony,
Mony around the screen for Miller back to Miller drives
now on Eagle Staff kicks to Money.

Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
Money at the point.

Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Mony driving to the right elbow, keeps his dribble in
a double team outside of Watkins wide open three no
off the high heel and the rebound take it by
King three for twelve now from downtown set the bies
gun lock back in from distance six and a half
remaining of the half.

Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
Twenty five twenty three DSU.

Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
Eagle Staff of seven points drives into the lane left
hand floater, no good rebound saved by Money on the
baseline in the hands of Mason Miller. Bison when will
grown if they want to with James Miller with a
shot pick on the left wing, drives in the lane,
puts it up on the right hand.

Speaker 2 (01:01:24):
Makes it in. What a take by James Miller.

Speaker 1 (01:01:27):
This eighth point and the bson extended lead back to
four twenty seven twenty three.

Speaker 5 (01:01:33):
And that's just a really high level finish. I mean
tons of hang time from Javis. Miller, absorbs the contacts,
big time play to go, get to I was serched
to so lay he was hanging in the air forever.
Here's Mayor and driving in left wing.

Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
Good contest by Money straight up in the rebound taken
by Javis. Und has not scored a field goal in
the last three minutes. Here come to Bison Money open
three short rebound taken by Mayor. That one would have
been good. Thirty eight to play in the half. We're
still up by four twenty seven to twenty three. Kaluovich
at the top of the key from Mayo. We're now

(01:02:08):
on the right wing. Back to Koluovich and he'll hold
out top find it to eagle staff right wing, may
Or right corner King nowhere to go. He drives in baseline,
stomps in the lane, throws up a wild layup no good.
Rebound taken by Jakari, leads the break into the front court.
Jakari left of the key. Fans booing as Jakari holds
out top between the Lages, dribble around the screen to

(01:02:28):
the basket. Right hand layup is good. He danced through
all the traffic in the world and took that straight
to the cup. Twenty nine twenty three Bison, with five
minutes to play in the half. Great run by Ndsu
and here comes und from left to right, Koluovich left
wing three clink long rebound comes out to cramp right

(01:02:51):

taken by Javis.

Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
Here come the Bison four on three the other way.

Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
Jamis drives the Lage, kicks Watkins left wing, three white right,
no good and the rebound taken by King four thirty
two remaining of the half, and the Bison maintain a
twenty nine to twenty three lead. Und Is one for
its last nine from the floor. They haven't scored in
almost three minutes. Khalubit's straight away, khalub It's with the

(01:03:18):
right hand triple carries in right hand floater, no good rebound,
grab by money over everybody, and here come the Bison
from right to left off of but get another stop.
Jakari on the right wing. Watkins plays pitch and catch
for Jakari, who shoots the three. Swiss Jakari White knocks
down the three and there's the first time out of

the Bason. They were down seventeen to thirteen and since
then and they have gone on a nineteen to six run,
and this is a seven hing run.

Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
Over the last two minutes. They've done terrific on the defensive.
Vent you and the over. It's last day.

Speaker 1 (01:05:48):
They haven't scored in three twenty two and they just
forced the Fighting Hawks to call their first time out.
Out of this time out, Bison will go with a
full court press as you and the imbounds left right
in the he's in a tramp, finds Marra in the
middle of the floor. He drives, chugging out of the
front court, finds Mayor Ali up to Woodson, layup is good.

Speaker 2 (01:06:08):
First basket for und in almost three.

Speaker 1 (01:06:10):
And a half minutes and they're back within seventh thirty
two to twenty five, three forty seven to play in
a half Watkins outside, Mason, Miller, extra Pastor Cary. He'll
give them all day for three and he misses off
the back of the rim. No good, raymount taken by Mayor.
He slashes the lane, puts him a high runner. No
good by a whistle for a foul on the Bison

(01:06:30):
blocking pound called It'll be the fourth team pound against NDSU,
the first on Brendan Watkins, and then I'll send Dang
and Mayor to the found line to shoot two.

Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
And the thing is there, Sam Brendan Watkins was in position.

Speaker 5 (01:06:45):
He needs to plant his feet and take that charge
because he took the contact and then kind of jump
back where it's to avoid falling. But that's what turns
it into a block, is when you don't hold your
ground and take that contact that could have been a
charge going the other way.

Speaker 1 (01:06:56):
Mayor clanks the first free throw no good, whether uric
crisis or just needs someone to listen. Nine eight eight
is here? Call her Temps nine eight eight or chen
online three thirty six remaining of the half bison by
seven may Or seventy seven percent. He gets one more,
puts it up.

Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
It is good.

Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
He goes one for two thirty two to twenty six.
Byson lead it by six. Watkins at the points Tofano,
which has two fouls. Watkins high on the left side
around the screen from Money keeps the dribble. Now picks
it up, directing traffic finds Mason Miller launches a three
off the front of the rim. No good rebound snatched
out of the air by Mara. Bison are four of

(01:07:35):
seventeen from three point range, yet they lead by six.
Here in Grand Forks, with three fifteen remaining of a half,
King straight away tosses for panom Panome behind the back,
dribble angles in the lane, puts it up on the window.

Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
No good rebound.

Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
Wrestle around by Money, whistle for a tie up and
the jump ball of favor UND so Money was jousting
for the rebound. It would have been his fifth has
been active on the glass so far, but UND will
earn possession. They're out rebounding the Bison nineteen fourteen At
the moment, Pinol casts it in for King on the

(01:08:10):
left wing, outside for Mayor. Mayor with his dribble on
the left hand, short pass to King. King skips it
left side line Woodson and a listle for a travel call.
Woodson walked with it. It'll be a turnover the eighth
of the half for UND. Bison have it going the
other way with two fifty five to play before the break.

(01:08:32):
Dave Richmond pacing the sidelines, hands in pockets, great quarters,
zip black pants and the gray nikes with the reader
glasses on as well on top of his head. Bison
by a six in the front court, left Money on
the left side of the lane with four points so far,
dropstat left hand finish good nicely, Don Jackson Money his
six point buys it back up by eight thirty four

(01:08:54):
to twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Six, and Sam if U and D's not going to
double Jackson Mooney.

Speaker 1 (01:08:58):
They got to go right back the look and either
go get another posts score or force you, indeed to
start doubling and then trust Jackson Mooney to make some
plays passing out of that double King on the right
wing for und right sideline. Woodson back out for Kings,
skips it to Mayor. Mayor on the left wing, hands
off Pinoab shot clock down to eight. Pinoab lost it
on the sideline out of bounds off of Potome last.

(01:09:19):
Great defense again by Lebiason. They have been active early
and often on the defensive end and grand forks and
they'll take it off that ninth you indeed turnover of
the half.

Speaker 2 (01:09:31):
And Sam.

Speaker 5 (01:09:31):
You got to give a lot of credit to Javis Miller,
who came into this game off the bench. Ndsu had
a little bit of a slow start and he has
sparked some big energy into this team on both ends.

Speaker 1 (01:09:40):
Brandon Watkins almost lost it himself. He's in a double
team left wing Miller down on the block for mooting.
They go right back to him one on one with
a six four. King goes in the lane, solders them away,
throws it up, but it won't count. Offensive bound on
Jackson boning Eli. King was one on one with him
in the post. They went right back to it dex
with Jackson a little too much with the show.

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
And again another good post move. Jackson.

Speaker 5 (01:10:05):
Mooney's got to know though, that when you get a
postfeed like that where it's kind of out of a
scramble and then you get a smaller guy mismatching, it's
really hard to go score through somebody's chest without getting
that call because that little guy is thinking, if I
get a little bit of contact with the bill of
my body, I'm going down. Jackson's got to make a
move around him to go get an easy one up
and over.

Speaker 1 (01:10:22):
That's King special two. He leads you on d and
charges taking this year borrow to the basket. Rdy layup
is good thirty four to twenty eight buys in by
six thirty four remaining in the half, DSU in possession
from right to left. Watkins, veering over to the right side,
tosses to Javis Miller with a pass fake rank corner.

(01:10:42):
Watkins back to Javis top of the key Benderson. Benderson
holds at the knees, now headed back to Watkins. Watkins
left sign. Bason Miller, working on eagle staff attacks the
left baseline, gets to the paint, kicks it out. Watkins
drives into lane with six to shoot, tosses Jakari reverse
lamp good Tokari can finish his ten point and the
byzon on top thirty six to twenty eight, the lead

(01:11:06):
back to eight for NDSU. A minute remaining in the
first half, King out top of the McCoy logo, starts
his dribble. Here's to the left wing, hands off Mara, Mara,
back to King in front of the NDSU bench. Back
to Morrow shot. Faked shuffle looks so clear right wing.
Pino Panoma, with eight to shoot, drives the lane, puts
it up and missed it. Follow his good by Mayor
climbing the ladder for a two hand dug thirty six

(01:11:31):
to thirty. The ball rolled out to mid court. After
the dunk and the Bison over he sent thirty seven
seconds to play in the half, about a seven second difference.

Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
Between game and shot block.

Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
Bison will send Jackson Mooney back into the action and
Noah Pederson goes to the bench. Jacari Watkins, Mason Miller
to James Miller and Money the five on the floor
for NDSU.

Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
They can hold for pretty.

Speaker 1 (01:11:55):
Much the last shot of the half if they get
it down to the final seconds of the shot clock.
Twenty three seconds on the game clock, fifteen to shoot.
Money on the left side of the key, working his
way down to the left corner against Mayor shot block
down to nine Mayor with the steal, and here he
comes out of the front court. He drives scoops in
the lane, puts it up and somehow makes a circus

(01:12:17):
shot and gets fouled. I don't know how he made
that shot. He went flying in as wild as possible
the boys. It knocked him down to the process. He
threw it up without even looking. It was a prayer
and it was answered. The shot is good, and he'll
have a free throw to try and get the three
point play with ten point eight seconds remaining in the

(01:12:39):
hand mayor with his ninth point here on senior day,
a transfer from junior college here in his first year
with UND. Here comes the free throw is good, and

(01:12:59):
just like that, it's thirty six thirty three Byson by three.

Speaker 2 (01:13:02):

Speaker 1 (01:13:04):

on Craft just a third on Und ten point five
seconds to play.

Speaker 2 (01:13:21):
Jacarian bound some Watkins.

Speaker 1 (01:13:23):
Bison have it with a shot block turned off, leading
by three, and in the first half five seconds Watkins
throws it from Mason Miller, catching shoot left wing, three boom,
he knocks it.

Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
Down right at the horn.

Speaker 1 (01:13:35):
Mason Miller snipes it from the left wing and the
Bison extend the lead back to six to close out half.

Speaker 5 (01:13:57):
Yes, sim really good execution and just the toughness to
bounce back off of that turnover going down to the
end one and you and d made a big momentum
play there to finish the half, and Brendan Walkins finds
Mason Miller at the buzzer for a wide open three.
That's a big time momentum savior at the end of
the half.

Speaker 1 (01:17:01):
It is halftime and the Byson lead You indeed thirty
nine thirty three on the Coach's Choice scoreboard. Sam Niederman
here with you. Let's take a listen map to our
butt light first half highlights, button light, easy to drink,
easy to enjoy. Byson trailed early. They were just two
of their first day for the floor. Meanwhile, you would
need six of its first eight. They were up thirteen

(01:17:22):
to seven in the early going. But to Javis Miller
came off the bench and made his presence, fell back door,
bounce past James Miller slams it down with the right
hand post time for Jamis and how about that one
to get the Byson back with it aduce fifteen to thirteen.
A big dunk for Javis. Miller kind of was able

(01:17:43):
to get behind the defense. Caught nambing for a moment,
he cocked it back with the right arm, slammed it down.
Byson within two. They would score the next five unanswered.
They would grab their first lead once again, banging in
with the right shoulder. He keeps it, he had it poked.
Now he gathers outside Watkins left wing Miller four to three. Yeah,

(01:18:04):
Mason Miller knocks down the three. That's his second and
the Byson regained the lead eighteen to seventeen.

Speaker 2 (01:18:13):
Bason Miller knocks down the three.

Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
That would not be his last to the first half,
Bison back on top eighteen seventeen. They would go back
and forth, but this is where the defensive end really
was able to chime in for INDSU. Nine turnovers by
UND in the first half. The Bison had five steals
in the first half. For context, NDSU maybe one of
the worst teams in terms of getting steals on the

(01:18:35):
whole year, just averaging.

Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
Three per game.

Speaker 1 (01:18:37):
They would hold UND's scoreless and put together a big
seven nothing run, forcing the first time out of the
half of the fighting Hawks, Jacari on the right wing.
Watkins plays pitch and catch for Jacari, who shoots the three.
Swiss Jakari White knocks down the three and there's the
first time out of the game from UND. Byson on
another seven nothing run as Jacari cans the tray and

(01:19:00):
it's a thirty two to twenty three lead for the Herd.

Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
The time out taking by Paul saying their UND head coach.

Speaker 1 (01:19:07):
Bison on top by nine and DSU would maintain about
an eight point lead, but then UND would score fine
on answer. They got a layup that was counted as
good plus an hand to one from Dang Mayor. He
completed a three point play and made a three point
game with ten seconds to go before the break. That's
when the Bison inbound of the ball and we're able

(01:19:28):
to beat the halftime hoard from long range. Bison habit
with a shot clock turned off, leading by three and
in the first half five seconds, Watkins rows it for
Mason Miller catching shoot left wing three boom, he knocks.

Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
It down right at the horn.

Speaker 1 (01:19:44):
Mason Miller snipes it from the left wing and the
Byson extend the lead back to six to close out
half number one thirty nine thirty three are halftime scorer
as Mason Miller, it's his third three of the half.
I've been finished in the first twenty minutes with a
team leading eleven points. We'll take another time out as

(01:20:06):
half time continues. Here in Grant Forks, it's the Bison's

the Bason lead Yound thirty nine thirty three on the
Coaches Choice Scoreboard Samdherman Dexter Warner.

Speaker 2 (01:22:50):
Take a look at the first half.

Speaker 1 (01:22:52):
Stats in this one the bias in they shot eighteen
three decks, there were five of eighteen from three of
these still lead by six of the hamps just twenty
seven percent from beyond the ark, forty five percent from
the floor overall, and ESU tennis is compared to four turnovers.
And then meanwhile you and they were held down to

(01:23:12):
forty three percent for the floor. Three of seven from
three point range. They did not rebound on the biason
twenty one to fourteen six offensive rebounds so far for
the Fighting Hawks, But going back to the three point figures,
looks like we're gonna head some of the same type
of numbers that we got in the first matchup between
these two. Yeah, I mean, just just one of those

(01:23:33):
halves where Nysu didn't quite flow as well as he
wanted to too on the offensive end, but their defense
was great and they executed for pretty much that full
twenty minutes and that's what helped him hung on the
hang under this lead.

Speaker 5 (01:23:46):
You know, they're they're up six. They only made five
of eighteen threes and they're down seven on the glass,
I believe, So you know, you're giving up, you're giving
up more rebounds than you want to, and you're not
shooting it quite as well, but still up six. So
that's a big one for India's you obviously, that point
of emphasis coming out of halftime is good to be
continue to clean up the glass and like the that's

(01:24:09):
the thing that I struggle with watching this team is
just that they're getting good looks from three and they're
just not falling like We almost expect to go in
when Mason Miller shoots the ball from downtown and so,
I mean he got a lot of good looks. Brendan
Watkins had a couple of good open ones. Jackson Boni,
I don't believe hitting three in that first half. Keep
taking the good looks and stay the course.

Speaker 2 (01:24:28):
Keep defending.

Speaker 1 (01:24:29):
Because you're up six and he didn't shoot very well,
you're still in a position to go stretch his lead
and make it a big second half. Andy Stefano, which
started at point guard. He only played seven minutes in
the first half after picking up a couple of quick
personal bowls. Jackson Emoni also had two bowls in the
first half, and ESU thirty nine. You ind thirty three
at the half year at Grand Forks. We'll take our

(01:24:50):
final time out of this Petro serve us a halftime show,
come back with a second half tip off after This

half in the SU, twenty minutes away from knocking off
their in state rivals and keeping North Dakota on Byson State.
Not only would they do that, but they would sweep
the weekend here on the road. They beat STSU and
Brookings on Wednesday, have a chance to win here in

(01:27:55):
Grand Forks this afternoon. Partner boat teams are warming up
on the floor and the miason. Despite the three point
shooting struggles he talked about, they were able to take
a six point lead into halftime. Defensively, they did some
good things on und I mar Koluovitch, their star post player.
He doesn't have a point, he's over five, tracing eagles

(01:28:16):
stand pulling out four shots up in the first half,
seven points. And we talked about the turnovers too, They
forced nine of them in the first half.

Speaker 2 (01:28:23):
Yeah, really good defensive effort for INDIASU.

Speaker 5 (01:28:26):
Like we talked about, I think if you're in DSU,
you got to feel pretty good about that first half,
and especially you know, leading up to it, we talked
about it. That last one, the last turnover for Jackson
Money was the catastropher turnover.

Speaker 2 (01:28:37):
Coming down gets Mayor the end one.

Speaker 1 (01:28:40):
And on top of that, that's Jackson Moony picking up
his second foul right at the end of the half. Really,
you take that one out of there, you're really really
happy with that defensive performance.

Speaker 5 (01:28:48):
And like I said, you're in DSU, you keep doing
what you're doing. They played basketball. I thought pretty well
within their identity as a team. Shots didn't paul super
well in that first half.

Speaker 2 (01:28:59):
Keep doing what you're doing.

Speaker 3 (01:29:00):
You get hot.

Speaker 1 (01:29:01):
You can stretch this thing to fifteen really quick and
get this place really quiet.

Speaker 2 (01:29:04):
For the second half.

Speaker 1 (01:29:05):
Bason Miller had three threes. He led the Bison with
eleven points of the first half. Zaccary White had two threes.
He had ten points, dealing two and double figures with
the Bison bony and six. James Miller eight off of
the bench, ready to go four in the second half,
back underway final twenty minutes in grand Forest buys it
in possession in green you would defense man and man

(01:29:26):
in white Bison from left to right. Here in the
second Jackson money out top driving downhill on Mara, spins
on his pivot foot, kicks out to the final wits
extra pass to Curry right baseline drive, got a man
of the air outside Mony catching drive, banging in on
Mara nine on the shot clock hands it off for Miller.
Miller back to Jakari Jakari on the right side line
with five, with four, with three, Jakari fade away long

(01:29:49):
two off the front of the rim and the rebound
comes out to King. Bison empty on their first position
of the second half, and here's you. Indeed, no outside
King shooting left wing three got it Eli King with
his eighth point. Just like that, We've got a one
score ball game again. Thirty nine, thirty six bys and

(01:30:11):
up by three. Jacarry top of the key, right bound
line extended between the legs, dribble tosses to Fenderson, left
to the key for stefano Witz. He drives, works with
the right hash mark, circles back out and he threw
it away for a moment, scoops it up in front
of the bench, had sown away by Eagle Staff. Eagle
Staff into the front court, beering over to the left wing,
right hand floater off the windows, strong grebound stefano Witz.

Speaker 2 (01:30:33):
Bison have numbers if they wanted.

Speaker 1 (01:30:34):
With Eagle Staff trailing behind the play, now they're back
to even strengthen the front court. Stefanowitz on the left
hash mark back count to the arc. Tom of the key,
mooning money with a left hand dribble around the screen
from Miller working his way against Mara left block extended
pounding the right hand dribble gets in the lane puts
it up.

Speaker 2 (01:30:51):
No, we lost it.

Speaker 1 (01:30:52):
It's stripped away. Ball rolls loose and out the bounds
off of ad Suu. Lads turn it over. They're scoreless.
About a minute and thirty into the first half or
second half rather and Ud has the ball trailing by three. Panoma,
I'll bring it across the timeline, Tom of the key,

(01:31:13):
Kaluovich left wing, eagle staff. Eagle Staff bounces to Khaluovich
in the paint pass fake Shimmy's right hand post shot.

Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
No good, but a whistle for a foul. It's gonna
go on.

Speaker 1 (01:31:23):
Noah Penderson, he can't believe it, saying he was playing
straight up. I'll be the first and a half on
the bason and the first personal on Noah Amar Kaluovich at.

Speaker 2 (01:31:33):
The foul line left and Sam, this is life on
the road.

Speaker 5 (01:31:38):
India's us gott to bring that energy back that they
finished the second half with a little stagging on these
first two offensive possessions.

Speaker 2 (01:31:45):
Got to tighten it back up, get it going here again.

Speaker 1 (01:31:49):
Ud has the first four points of the second half.
Kaluovitch sinks the first three throw sixty six percent. The
big fellow who's one of the best rebounders in the conference,
puts it up.

Speaker 2 (01:32:00):
And clamps it off the back iron. No good or
reybound taken by Federson.

Speaker 1 (01:32:04):
Bison still up by two eighteen oh six, remaining thirty
nine thirty six Byson thirty seven. Rather, here's Jacari on
the right quarter back to Stefanowitz holds it at the
belt high post. Mody a right wing Takari around the
screen from Money works his way in the paint and
left hand layup is god. He was able to get
it around on the rolls or carry White to the basket.

(01:32:24):
His twelfth point of the ball game and the first
of the second half of the Bison his forty one
thirty seven good guys seventeen forty one remaining King holding
out top King with a right hand trouble finds eagle
staff off a screen for three swish, tracing the eagle
staff with his ten point. Und continues to stay hot
from beyond the arc. They started really hot. That didn't

(01:32:48):
put up many more. They're now five of nine. Here's
Jacari and in the paint. His shot knocked away, but
a whistle for a foul.

Speaker 2 (01:32:55):
On Moorrow.

Speaker 1 (01:32:57):
Ambouru Morrow called from the foul. That's his second, and
that will send Jacari White to the free throw line.
Jacurry at the line right eighty five percent. Bison had
been terrific at the free throw line or the last
three games, five of seven. Today he makes the first

(01:33:18):
and it's forty two to forty. Jakari with thirteen points
so far this afternoon to leave the Bison. Bison are
shooting just under eighty percent of the line and summon
league play, which is best in the conference by a
couple percentage points. Jacary but the second good forty three

(01:33:42):
to forty. Bison by three once again. And here comes
und from right to left. As you listen, Pino the
point guard. He has two points today, very quiet out
top king right in the key. Kalouovich wind mills the
ball and now we'll hand it off to Eagle staff
circling goes it back in for Khlovitch up baking the
left tail lamb good.

Speaker 2 (01:34:04):
Helos with his third point you and d back within one.
Forty three to forty two.

Speaker 1 (01:34:10):
Stefanowitz high on the left side around the screen, dribbles
to the Hashmark, gives it up for Miller and launches
a three yes.

Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
Spason Miller continues to connect his.

Speaker 1 (01:34:20):
Four to three pointer fourteen points on the day, and
Lemison are back up by four forty six forty two.
How about this kid, he is automatic eagle staff on
the left base line outside. Koluovitch picks it up low,
holds it up high, clears to King. Twelve on the timer.
King will fire a long thirty foot or no good

(01:34:42):
off the front offensive rebound by Barra and he holds
in the middle of the lane, lobs in for Khloovitch
on the block, puts it up bad, gets fouled. They're
gonna get Stefanowitz and that's gonna be Andy's third. With
sixteen eighteen to play, King decided to chuck a long
three from almost the volleyball line. Maraga the offensive board,
gave it to Koluovich, who was matched up with Andy

(01:35:04):
down low. Andy's gonna have to go to the bench here.
Brendan Watkins standing by to check in. Kaluovich cannot connect
on the first free throw, no good.

Speaker 5 (01:35:17):
And Sam, that's one of those possessions there where you
know the youth showing for Andy's deefinal. It's a little
bit you got to realize you ended up in a
mismatch there. You got two fouls. You don't want to
pick up your third. You just got a body up.
Go straight up as you can and let your other
guys try to come and get a piece of that ball.
You don't want to be the one that's swinging down
there and drawing your third foul.

Speaker 2 (01:35:35):
League, He just did no.

Speaker 1 (01:35:37):
Pederson goes the bench with Andy Safono, which as well
Jackson Bony back into the game. Brendan Watkins is in
for Andy to run the point. One more coming for
Koluovich one for three in this second half at the
foul line, deep knee bend for the Big Fella, puts
it up and breaks it. No good or rebound knocked
into the air and Koluovich gathers it on the left
side of the arc. Bias had a good look. They

(01:35:58):
couldn't catch it though. Eagle stam driving split's the lane
ducks it down.

Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
With two halfs.

Speaker 1 (01:36:06):
Forty six forty four miison by two U and D
with assistant coaches.

Speaker 2 (01:36:12):
Jumping out on the floor.

Speaker 1 (01:36:14):
Is the Lizan go left to right, Mason Filler outside
for Jacari White working against the student section chanting defense
alarm outside for Bony right wing Miller.

Speaker 2 (01:36:23):
Miller drives kicks for Javis Miller holds on the right.

Speaker 1 (01:36:26):
Side of the arc, a pass fake and a skip
opposite court docked out by the six foot six to Morrow.

Speaker 2 (01:36:32):
He was looking for Jacari. It's out of bounds and
will stay with Eliza Maniasi Mount.

Speaker 1 (01:36:37):
Fifteen forty two remaining in the game and a break

un d forty four.

Sam Niederman and Dexter Warner with you the Bison forty
six und forty four fifteen forty two remaining in the game.
The Biason with Jacari, Jamis, Mason, Miller, money and Watkins
on the floor and he's the final. It's on the
bench right now, dealing with three fouls. Jacari inbounds in

(01:38:38):
front of the bench, eight on the shot clock, gets
it in for Jamison Miller high on the left side
between the lakes. Dribble pull up deep three on the
way air ball rebound by Jacari tries to throw it out.
Mason Miller banks it up and in right at the
shot clock horn. But they'll say they're gonna review it

(01:38:58):
if this is good. That's one of the more crazy
shot clock beating buzzer beaters you'll see in a while.
It was a deep three Mike Jamis airball, so it
didn't reset the shot clock because he didn't hit the rim.
Jakari caught it underneath the basket, kind of threw a
pass shot hybrid, maybe trying to reverse it off the window,

(01:39:21):
and somehow came in the hands of Mason Miller. He
was in the middle of a lane, threw it up
in the last second and banked it in. The question
is that he get it off. I don't know if
he did.

Speaker 5 (01:39:30):
Just look at the first three play next yeah, and
either way, that's really good awareness for Mason Miller to
know that he's got to jump and shoot that thing
right away.

Speaker 1 (01:39:38):
It looks like he might have gotten off a half
second late, but he had a chance at it right Yeah,
always got a chance. He had the buzzer beater at
the end of the first half and the officials got
away for the monitor and signal they're waving this off.
No good, No basket a Bison ly hill just two

(01:40:01):
with fifteen thirty three remaining. Bison have been up by
as many as nine, but they haven't been able to
stretch into double digits. That was kind of the story
last time. Here for the Bison lost in Grand course
last season. They had to leave for the majority, but
then just could never really throw that last punch. Eagle
Staff at the three and he is nothing but net

(01:40:22):
from the outside. Fifteen points for Eagle Staff and und
as the league. Forty seven forty six Bison trail. Here's
Jacari straight away, Jacari driving right a lane, right hand
runner banks it up and end Jacari White taking it
down hill once more. Sixteenth point Bison mac on top

(01:40:42):
forty eight forty seven under fifteen remaining. And here's Pinome
on the deep left wing out top for King right wing,
Mara Barra jams windmills. The dribble goes in a lane
right and scoop no good rightbount my money bar down
behind the play. Bison have numbers five on board Can skips, Miller,
extra passer.

Speaker 2 (01:41:02):
Cai corner three bottom Jacari why.

Speaker 1 (01:41:06):
Knocks it down in a corner pocket is nineteenth part
of the game, and just like that, it's Bison by four,
fifty one forty seven, fourteen twenty eight to go, big
time hit by Jacari Pinola driving in his runner. No good,
but a whistle for a foul on Jadis that'll be

(01:41:27):
found number three on the Bison and it is the.

Speaker 5 (01:41:31):
First on to James Miller. Yeah, and to be honest,
they're santo. You can see Javis asking the ref about it.
That was pretty well defended, especially with some of the
calls that you've seen them let go leading up to
this point.

Speaker 4 (01:41:46):
This was a.

Speaker 5 (01:41:46):
Frustration for me always as a player when they let
you play a little bit in the first half. It's
an aggressive game, big rivalry, and then they tighten up
that whistle. It's really tough as players to adjust to
how refs are trying to call that game in the
second half.

Speaker 1 (01:41:57):
Compared to the first knocks down the free throw fifty
one forty eight. Now Buyson by three, he's sixty nine
percent at the bout line and he makes the second
one fifty one forty nine, two point game. Bison is
still on top fourteen eighteen counting down on the second
half clock, Watkins down top, Watkins between the legs, finds

(01:42:19):
Mason Miller on the left wing, beats the poster Jackson
Boney one on one with Mara holds at the chest,
pounds the right hand, dribble, works out of the paint,
puts it up on the right hand and no good
rebound off the back iron scrap four underneath the basket
and the rebound now secured by King under fourteen minutes
remaining Bison fifty one you nd forty nine in this

(01:42:40):
in state rivalry, Panune or Panome rather driving down to
the block, skips it from Mara corner three on the
way long, no good rebound Pinome on the back end
his followed jup.

Speaker 2 (01:42:52):
Offense.

Speaker 1 (01:42:53):
Some rebound results in the put back for Pinome and
more time and fifty one on thirteen thirty one winding
down money open three on the way, no rebound but
for and taking my keg. There comes und from right
to left, eagle staff high on the right side, eagle
staff crossover, dribble of course to the baseline.

Speaker 2 (01:43:15):
Pull up jumper good seventeen points. That's his game.

Speaker 1 (01:43:20):
He's seven of nine and from the floor and the
Bison are down by two fifty three fifty one thirteen
oh five, remating Jakari a three ring Blastman's no good
and the rebound taken by Borrow. UND has scored six
on answered after the big three by Jakari and now
the Bison trail by two depending on the front court

(01:43:41):
left Eagle staff on the big court logo around the
screen from Mayor.

Speaker 2 (01:43:45):
He pulls up for three.

Speaker 1 (01:43:47):
He check gets good, tracing Eagles staff continuing to heat up.
He's got twenty and the Bison trail by five and
the largest deficit of the after twelve thirty remaining James
Miller on the right wing, crowd channing is Javis drives
down on the right block, James pounding the left hand ribble,

(01:44:10):
rolls to his right, backs it up and in what
a nifty move by to Jamis Miller then will silence
the crowd here in Grand Forks.

Speaker 2 (01:44:17):
His ten point buys it within three.

Speaker 1 (01:44:21):
Fifty six fifty three, UND with the lead twelve oh
seven ticking down Pinob on the right wing, panome left
hand dribble spin move puts up the runner missed it
good contest by Mason Miller, rebound by Jackson Money Brennan
Waltkins in transition pulls up in the Leang kicks out
to carry White wide up at three no good and
the rebound taken by Pinome Jacury was opening transition. UND

(01:44:46):
takes over from right to left, pano out top around
the screen from Mayor, holds it on the right wing,
back to Mayor left of the key, pops in for
eagle staff twenty points. He drives, gets in the lane,
lost it out of bounds, and the official emphatically sickles
off in the Bison last time out on the floor
eleven thirty one remaining and there's a break in the

(01:45:08):
action with our score UND fifty six the Bison fifty three.

Since nineteen fifty.

Speaker 1 (01:46:56):
One, we have eleven thirty one to play in grand
ports and the bias that are down by three fifty
six to fifty three. Sam Niederman Dextra Warner with you
und has the ball and as he defends in green,
un d and white panola with the.

Speaker 2 (01:47:11):
Inbound left baseline a ball fake.

Speaker 1 (01:47:13):
He's still waiting and he zings it out for King
catches high over the top of Watkins, resets the Eagle
Staff shot clock down to six. Eagle Staff drives behind
the back pass khloo bitch at three. Rid Glass mets
no good rebound five four bat into the air. It
comes spinning out to the near corner and it's collected
by Watkins keeping his toes inbounds. Nicely done by the Bias.
And they getting stopped. And here they come, trailing by three.

(01:47:36):
Mason Miller drives, dishes Noah Fenderson goes in the lane,
jumps up pants one on the travel.

Speaker 2 (01:47:41):
He gets it out for Watkins. Extra pass to.

Speaker 1 (01:47:43):
Cary open three, no up. The mack Iron rebound comes
out loose. It's taken by Mason Miller. Jakari has it.
He drives in lay up reverse good Wow, want to
move by Jakari.

Speaker 2 (01:47:53):
White off.

Speaker 1 (01:47:54):
The scramble is twenty first point. The Bison are back
within one fifty six fifty five huge basket by Jacari
and now und in the front court left. Woodson picks
up his dribble, clears to kluovits left wing. King King

(01:48:15):
back to Koluovitch left bound line extended six on the timer,
works in the lane, backdoor bounce feed for Woodson and
he clips on the lamp of the left hands fifty
eight fifty five buys it up or down by three
ten seventeen remaining Watkins left wing top of the keef
Benderson Benderson for White on the right wing. Jacari with

(01:48:37):
twenty one beats the post for Davis Miller has passed
intercepted by Eagle Staff. The Byason turn it over. They
have been outscored twenty five to sixteen in the second half.
Ten minutes to play and it's a three point und lead.
Eagle Staff, I'm a mid logo. He gives it for Woodson,
a three grim classman is no good at the rebound

(01:48:58):
collected by Watkins ninety seven ago. Watkins mooters all the
way to the basket and he's found going to the
hoop by Eli King. Found on King the second on
und the first don King fans are not happy as Brenton.

Speaker 2 (01:49:13):
Watkins will earn two frea throws at the line. Right.

Speaker 5 (01:49:17):
Yeah, Sam, I don't really have a problem with that
push because Nysu's struggling to score right now. Probably wasn't
even a foul there, but at least Brendon Watkins is
being aggressive getting downhill and drawn a little contact. Because
when the three isn't going, you gotta find different ways
to score the ball. And that's what we've talked about
that Ndiasu has struggled with a little bit this year.
Three balls not falling, somebody's got to take the initiative

(01:49:38):
to get downhill.

Speaker 2 (01:49:39):
And go score at the rack.

Speaker 1 (01:49:40):
Watkins with a freight throw that makes it fifty eight
to fifty six. Buyson trim the lead to two. James Miller,
Jacurry White go out, Luke Kazuki and Jameson Bony check
back in Watkins eighty three percent at the freight throw line,
thirty one for thirty seven this season.

Speaker 2 (01:49:58):
That was his first point. A mo going to go.
Here comes his.

Speaker 1 (01:50:01):
Second attempt and it is good fifty eight fifty seven.
He has two points to go along with four assists
off the bench. Buyson bett within a penny fifty eight
to fifty seven, un.

Speaker 2 (01:50:12):
D nine thirty eight.

Speaker 1 (01:50:13):
Counting down in Grand Forks in State, bracking rights on
the line, King on the right corner gives it up
eagle stand picking pop three good. He's on one of
those runs. He's got twenty three and he is nine
for eleven. I'm perfect five and five from down town,
and that's the difference. Is und leads by four sixty

(01:50:37):
one fifty seven. A foul called at the other end
on Mamburu Mara, Mara's second team's third in ninety seventeen.
Remaining on the clock bis and will have a sideline
in bound. Mara will go to the bench with his
second dang Meyor comes back in Dave Richmond pointing out

(01:51:00):
on the court in stripping the inbound Mason Miller will
trigger in in front of the Bison bench, finds Watkins
out top, directs traffic between the legs, dribble, feeds Money
at the point.

Speaker 2 (01:51:11):
Money holding his dribble, spins.

Speaker 1 (01:51:12):
And starts it right now, veering back left, hands off
lu Kasuki Kasuk off the bench with ten on the timer,
bounces to Money and a whistle for a.

Speaker 2 (01:51:20):
Foul on Mayor.

Speaker 1 (01:51:22):
The crowd is not happy with it. Neither is Paul,
saying they're extending his arm, saying what did he do wrong?
Foul on Mayor? His first team's four buys an inbound
again from the sideline, it comes to Watkins. He holds
on the left wing, top to the Keymoni left wing
Kasuki Kasuki hooks it into the post for Mooni Mony

(01:51:42):
working on Mayor tennis shoe takes him down to the maseline,
shovels it for Kasuk corner three. Yes, he knocks it
down plus the foul. It's another Buyson four point special.
Luke Kasuki with a corner three, and he'll go to
the line and try and cap the four point plas
sixty one to sixty ands within one.

Speaker 4 (01:52:10):
How do they do it?

Speaker 1 (01:52:12):
No, it seems to do when they need it most too,
cent I mean Lukasuki going to the line here to
tie up the game now, Indias, he has gotta just
weather this storm. They got to tighten back up a
little bit on defense down here, and you're right back
in this game with a free start. Oh, it's not
a four point play though, as he misses the freight
throw and the rebound pot four possession arrow will go
to und after they call it tie up, So the

(01:52:35):
Bysons still trail by one. Kasupke with the three can't
complete the four point play. Eight forty seven to go
here in Grand Forks Bison seeking their fifth win in
six games. Potentially they're fourth in a row and they'll
have to do it on the road against their bitter
in state rivals. They trail by one, and they defended

(01:52:58):
the front court let high on the left side, top
of the key, Eli King and the volleyball line throws
it for Eagle Staff who ducks it down with two hands.
Trason Eagle Staff is having his way here in the
second half. Twenty five points eighteen after halftime, Bison down
by three, sixty three to sixty money right boat line extended,

(01:53:20):
gives it up to Watkins. Watkins at the top of
the key, gives it up to Betterson left wing, Mason Miller,
Miller high poster moony shot clocked down to ten hands
off to Miller, back to Mony open left wing, three
bulls eye Jackson Money with the tray and we are
tied up at sixty three eight oh seven remaining time

(01:53:41):
out taken by Dave Richmond. How about the North Dakota
kid Jackson Mooney is ninth point and the Bison have
leveled things up in Grand Forks. We'll take the timeout
as well. This is the Bison Sports Network from rear fuel.

Texter Warner with you, Hia, Tom Bhardwood, Dex. We knew

gonna be easy on the road. What are you looking
for in this last eight oh seven of regulation.

Speaker 2 (01:55:42):
Yeah, well you got it back to even here.

Speaker 5 (01:55:44):
You took a really big punch from you and D
and now you make a play there to get it
tied up. Obviously, the big thing is Tracy Eagle Staff
is getting really hot from the field right now.

Speaker 2 (01:55:53):
Hasn't missed the three Indians.

Speaker 5 (01:55:55):
Who's got to tighten up on him because this is
what he does for this team right when when they're
strug going there. They haven't been great on offense, He's
he comes out chucking in the second half and he's
been hot to start. So you got to take away
that stuff from you from tracing Eagle Staff, make somebody
else try to beat you.

Speaker 2 (01:56:11):
Keep playing solid defense.

Speaker 1 (01:56:12):
Less and eight minutes to play. Back to action UND
in the front court left Eagle Staff. A runner banks
it up, no good to rebound by pinob lost it
down low. They scrap for it on the baseline. A
whistle and the officials signal jump ball. The arrow favors
North Dakota states that will take us to another media
sime out seven fifty one remaining and there's a break

(01:56:34):
in the action with our score NDSU sixty three UND
sixty three.

fourth seven fifty one remaining, and the Bison are tied

Speaker 2 (01:58:08):
Three on the Coaches Choice scoreboard.

Speaker 1 (01:58:11):
Sam and Dix with you, I hope you've had a
great weekend so far, less than eight minutes to play,
and the story for the Mison has been.

Speaker 2 (01:58:22):
Really a couple of things.

Speaker 1 (01:58:24):
One trace an eagle staff as heated up for UND,
has twenty five points. He can't miss ten for thirteen
in the field. He's a perfect five of five three
point range and we'll see if bendy as you can
get going. They are nine of twenty seven from three
point range is thirty three percent. Been outscored by six
year in the second half after leading by six and

(01:58:44):
a half, Money and the point. As the Bison move
in the front court right to James Miller on the
right wing, shuffles back out, gives it up to Money.
Money on the right wing attacks it to the Laie
spins the block, puts it up and banks it strong.
No good rebound fought out to Eagle Staff UND in
possession seven to twenty seven to go. We're in a
deadlock at sixty three North Dakota bragging rights on the line.

(01:59:07):
Can the Bison sweep the series this season and get
the win on the road, And there's a whistle for
a travel dang Mayor dancing a little too much. It'll
turn it over back to the Bison. It is the
eleventh turnover of the afternoon on UND Bison take it
and say thank you. Mayor goes to the bench. Mara

(01:59:29):
comes back in along with Koluovich as well for UND.

Speaker 2 (01:59:34):
Watkins on the points.

Speaker 1 (01:59:35):
The final, which has three fouls seven to thirteen remaining
right wing Miller, he tees him a long three, long
on the rebounds or along on the shout as well
off the backside rebound taken by King, and here comes
und seven minutes to go, eagle Stamp driving layup is good,
colust the.

Speaker 37 (01:59:51):
Foul tracing eagle Stamp continues to get beniskets this time
and end one coming as he lays it home off
the back iron, and he'll go to the line looking
for the three point play with his team leading again.

Speaker 5 (02:00:05):
Sixty five sixty three. Yeah, and that came off of
that possession where Javis Miller takes a long three. That's
a long rebound, and then India sees out of position
on the rebound, miss free.

Speaker 1 (02:00:18):
Throw rebound, bat it out of bounds off of und
last and the Bison will take it the other way
so they don't get the three point play. And the
Bison trail by two sixty five sixty three, seven minutes remaining,
and here come the Bison from left to right. Watkins
high on the left side, hands it onf for Mason Miller.

(02:00:39):
Been a minute since Mason of three with love one
right now Money now circling down the left block, extended
money with nine points, bakes right, goes up left, kicks
it out. Watkins on the right way, driving down to
the right block layup is good. Brendan Watkins with the
layup his fourth point off the bench, and we're tying again.
Sixty five sixty five, six thirty three counting down in

(02:00:59):
grand four orts. Here's Pinom at the mid court logo
matched up with Jakari out top for King right wing,
Eagle Stam Eagle Stam with twenty seven points finds Khaluovitch.
Kaluovich hands back to Eagle Staff driving dancing right corner,
circles out to the perimeter with nine to shoot, driving
down to the right baseline outside King shot fake five

(02:01:20):
to shoot, jumps in the lane, finds Kaluovitch good on
the lane.

Speaker 2 (02:01:25):
Good passed by King and.

Speaker 1 (02:01:27):
Now the buys and trail again sixte seven sixty five,
six minutes to play. Watkins on the right way, right corner,
Davis Miller Jamis with ten points off of the bench,
circles out to the right way, keeps the dribble, clears
to Mony mony Tea's up a deep three no good
line drive miss and the raybound taking Mike Khaluovitch buy's
and trail by two. They'll have to defend five forty

(02:01:49):
one remaining. Here's Eagle Stamp driving the baseline, kicks it
out from Mara miscommunication, threw it away into the stands
and that's the turnover going the other way to.

Speaker 2 (02:02:00):
The Bison.

Speaker 5 (02:02:02):
And saying that's two possessions in a row where Indysu
did a much better job on Eagle staff the possession
before Eli King gets the kickout. They're really close. But
that's the thing is, you gotta make somebody else beat
you when a guy is that hot. So they're taking
it away. They cause one turnover and they almost had
two really good possessions in a row. Now you got
to get into their bucket here to tie this thing up.
Keep making plays on both ends.

Speaker 2 (02:02:23):
Of the floor.

Speaker 1 (02:02:24):
Jakari drives in, scoops it up at scores with the
right hand. Jacari White having himself an afternoon. That's his
twenty third point and he has tied the game up
at sixty seven with five thirteen to play. Jakari keeping
the boyson alive. Here's Kaluovich on the perimeter one dribbling
a handoff for Eagle staff. Eagle Staff hooks it back

(02:02:46):
for King DP three on the way, no good rebound
fun four tipped up, no good, and the whistle on
the floor is for a fowl against North Dakota State.
Bow will go on Jamson Mooney, and then there's a
third on more the team's fifth, and that will send
DeMar Kohaluvitch to the free throw line. He has struggled

(02:03:08):
at the line this afternoon, just one for four sixty
six percent is his average on the season.

Speaker 2 (02:03:15):
And he clanks the first off the front of the rim.
No good on Tank. Mayor comes back in mere Panom
goes out.

Speaker 1 (02:03:24):
Luke Stragi buys an assistant coach signaling out to the
Byson on the foul line. Some offensive instructions for after
this free throw by Koluovich one for five on his
senior day, takes a deep breath, squares the feet, bends
the knees, puts it up.

Speaker 2 (02:03:39):
Is good.

Speaker 1 (02:03:41):
That's now sixty eight sixty seven. Buys it trail again,
this time by one four fifty six. Remaining here in
Grand Forks, Jamis Miller on the right side of the
ark one on one with Kolubitch slashes the lane jump stop,
puts it up man gets it to go just over
the lip of the rim. Jamis Miller with another signature drive.
That's his twelve point and the Bison had the lead

(02:04:02):
sixty nine sixty eight four thirty nine to play. Eagle
stamp at the top of the key, driving down to
the left wing, hooks it outside for Mayor.

Speaker 2 (02:04:11):
His three is good.

Speaker 1 (02:04:14):
Dang Mayor, who is thirty percent from three all season long,
knocks one down and the Byson trail again. Seventy one
sixty nine money left bout line extended, hands it up
to Jacari Jacoury with twenty three high on the left side.
Jacari bounces to Money on the left block extended money

(02:04:35):
backing in against King Mony into the lane money.

Speaker 2 (02:04:38):
Outside for Jacari. Pass was wild. He sets him fire
a three.

Speaker 26 (02:04:41):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (02:04:42):
Jacari White nails.

Speaker 1 (02:04:43):
The three even after the wide pass and the Bison
have the lead back seventy two seventy one Yeah, just
big time body control from Jakari White to go get
that pass, kind of tips it to himself, get his
feet under him. Huge knockdown eagle staff three no good
Hi Rema footboard tipped up by Mara No good gun
his own and puts it back up an half seventy three,

(02:05:05):
seventy two, back and forth we go in grand force
Pisoner down by one, three point thirty three. Winding down
on the second half clock. Watkins from Mason Miller left
to the key, clear to Jacari. He's got twenty six
Jacari on the left wing, step back three on the way,
no off the front of the Rams rebound wrestled in
foot four.

Speaker 2 (02:05:25):
Buttville say it's a tie up and the arrow will
favor UND.

Speaker 1 (02:05:31):
Three twenty remaining in this rivalry matchup, and there's a
break in the action.

Speaker 2 (02:05:36):
Time out on the floor.

Petro Serve USA helping America the Old Better back in
grand force three twenty remaining and the bias that are

(02:07:18):
down by one seventy three seventy two. Sam Peterman Dexter Warner.
It's gonna come down to the wire partner and the
byas that are gonna have to find a way to
battle on the glass.

Speaker 5 (02:07:29):
Yeah, Sam out of that last possession. They actually didn't
call it jump ball. They said that Jamis Miller was
standing on the baseline as he wrapped up. So possession
is gonna stay with you indeed. But like we said,
Nysu has got to clean up the glasses. Now you
see we have Noah Fedderson back in the game with
Jackson Money. They haven't done a ton of possessions tonight
with both of them in because you and d doesn't
really play two bigs. They gotta clean up the glass

(02:07:52):
and take away a second chance points when they're forcing
them to miss from Downtown.

Speaker 1 (02:07:55):
Und by one bar on the left wing, he slashes
in La scoops it up on the left hand and go.

Speaker 2 (02:08:01):
Seventy five, seventy two.

Speaker 1 (02:08:03):
Byson trail by three, three minutes remaining, and here comes
Ndsu from left to right. Blawkins will run the point
right wing, Bason Miller, Miller with four threes, clears to
Jacari White. Jacari's got twenty six. He drives around the
screen from Mony down to the block outside Mony, fires
a three, got it Jackson Money with a big time triple,

(02:08:24):
and we're tied at seventy five with two forty togo
in Grand Forks. He sticks with it his twelfth point
just five of fourteen from the floor today two of
seven from three, but we'll take it to twenty seven
to go mayor left of the lane outside now for
Eagle Staff.

Speaker 2 (02:08:43):
Ten on the shock clock.

Speaker 1 (02:08:45):
Eagle Staff with twenty seven driving and it'll slips it
up on the left hand. No good rebound, fuck for
and wretched away by Fenderson has outlet feet to Watkins,
knocked out of bows. It'll stay with the Bison. That's
a big time stop by the Bison at the rim
against the Eagle staff. Yeah, a really good job by
Jackson Mooney getting vertical without fouling. And Noah Pederson, who

(02:09:05):
just subbed in the game, comes in and cleans up
the glass. Who's gonna clutch up for the Bison? Tine
at seventy five two oh four remaining in Grand Forks.
Money at the top of the key, drinks the dribble,
the left wing goes between the legs, backs down Pinome
eleven honn of timer money into the lane. Right hand
hook is halfway down to the good and almost spin out,
but it found its way to the bottom of the cup.

(02:09:27):
Tax and money with five straight points and lebisoner up
seventy seven seventy five, one forty remaining. In this instant
rivalry contest, put home on the right side of the key.
He brings it over to the right side of the
arc and now becks his way on Mason Miller. Helped
from Benderson, heads out to the perimeter, throws a wild
pass for King.

Speaker 2 (02:09:48):
Shot clock down to eight.

Speaker 1 (02:09:49):
King shaking and baking, becks his way to the paint
fall away from eight. No good, but a whistle for
a fowl bow called on the Bison. It'll be on
Brendan Watkins Brennan's second team six with one twenty two
remaining and Eli King jobs King at the line left

(02:10:12):
sixty eight percent free throw shooter first one, rentles it
home seventy seven to seventy six. Bison still lead by one.
King will get one more. Benderson and Money bet the
knees to box ound. King puts it up. It is
no good hard miss offense the rebound taking by Kluabus.

(02:10:34):
He gives us the eagle staff. Eagle staff back to Kluabus,
thought about in the past, and now we'll clear the
panob one thirteen to go.

Speaker 2 (02:10:41):
Bison still lead by one.

Speaker 1 (02:10:43):
Have to defend dear Pinome driving in inside the foul
line right and runner is no good rebound stats by Pinome.
He puts it up again, set up good plus the
fat Beard Puto with the offense or rebound the put

(02:11:06):
Ben Good foul on the Bison and he'll haven't chance
in the three point play. UND has the lead again
seventy eight to seventy seven, one oh four remaining. Betterson
goes to the bench with the Bison to Jamis Miller
back in Puto with a free throw sixty nine percent
and he knocks it down to complete the three point play.

(02:11:27):
The Bison now trails seventy nine seventy seven, one to
oh three to go in Grand Forks, and the crowd
is on its feet.

Speaker 2 (02:11:35):
They're roaring.

Speaker 1 (02:11:36):
Bison down by two front court right, Mason Miller on
the right wing outside for Jacari Jacari on the mid
court logo sixteen on the shot clock, forty eight on
the game clock.

Speaker 2 (02:11:47):
Jacary pulls up, hooks.

Speaker 1 (02:11:48):
It up for Mason Miller, finds Jamis four three win
over everything go good and the rebound taken by UND.
Thirty seven seconds to go in regulation, Bison are now
by two. There's an eleven second difference between game and
shot funk and UND takes a timeout.

Speaker 2 (02:12:08):
Thirty two point one seconds to.

Speaker 1 (02:12:10):
Play, and the Bison trail by adduce against their bitter
instate rivals. It's gonna come down to the final thirty
two and a defensive stop is non negotiable. Yeah, and
that was one of those possessions right there, Sam where
Koaluovitch comes in off the bench as kings at the

(02:12:30):
free throw line to shoot that second one he made
the first he misses it.

Speaker 2 (02:12:35):
You can't let Koluovich go get that offensive rebound.

Speaker 5 (02:12:37):
That's just a crippling play at a really really almost
the worst time possible. And then they go out and
that leads to the Panola mend one. It's those small
details that get you beat on the road in NDSU
made a big mistake on that one.

Speaker 2 (02:12:50):
It's been the story of the game.

Speaker 1 (02:12:52):
Undis out rebound in the Biason forty to twenty four.
That offensive rebound by Khaluovitch. They're fourteenth of the game.
We talked about the top. They are one of the
best offensive rebounding teams, not only the conference number one,
but in America sixteenth of the country, averaging thirteen offensive
boards per game, they're won over their season average, and
that one.

Speaker 2 (02:13:12):
Is the difference right now.

Speaker 1 (02:13:14):
Seventy nine seventy seven buys it down by two thirty
two point one seconds to go in regulation. UND is
in the bonus seventeen fouls on the Byson, U and
D with a foul in the game.

Speaker 2 (02:13:27):
They only have five team fouls. Both teams have two timeouts.

Speaker 1 (02:13:30):
As you mentioned, Partner, they switched the call on Jameis
Miller a few moments ago, so the arrow is still
with UND, the Buyerson are on defense, and the front
court left twenty one seconds on the Sean Fox, So
about an eleven second difference.

Speaker 2 (02:13:45):
You can play it out.

Speaker 1 (02:13:46):
You need to stop the inbounds comes to Pinobe and
the clock is running.

Speaker 2 (02:13:51):
Buys it down by two. Have to get the stop.
Twenty five seconds remaining in regulation, eleven.

Speaker 1 (02:13:57):
On the timer. Here's King working on Derek de Sett.
King was seven on the shot clock, moves over to
his right. Kate drives in with four ball away elbow jumper,
short rebound knocked around out of bounds and a shot
clock violation before it went out of bounds. Buyson make
the stop. They'll have it with eleven seconds to go
in regulation and a timeout taken by Dave Richmond.

Speaker 2 (02:14:21):
All Right, everybody, buckle up.

Speaker 1 (02:14:23):
It's gonna come down to NDSU on offense, trailing by two,
eleven seconds to go in state rivalry. They can break
their hearts with a three or tie it with a two. Yeah,
and just really well defended on that last possession there.
NDSU handled the ball screen well with Tracy Eagle Staff,

(02:14:44):
which is tough because it the point of it of
U and D running that set is they're trying to
get king coming off of there, hoping that two guys go,
and then you're kicking back to Tracy Eagle Staff, who's
looking to score.

Speaker 2 (02:14:54):
Has been hot the whole second half.

Speaker 5 (02:14:56):
NDSU defended it really well, and on top of that,
with the airball, it prevented U and D from being
able to get on the old glass. As the shot
clock buzzer went off shortly after, NDSU.

Speaker 2 (02:15:07):
Is gonna be able to get a look here and
they're down.

Speaker 5 (02:15:08):
To gotta stay aggressive and you just got to execute.
The ball went out of bounds, which is good because
you're able to get these substitutions on the dead ball
as well.

Speaker 2 (02:15:16):
They're gonna have full court eleven seconds, plenty of time
to go make a play here.

Speaker 1 (02:15:20):
Un D seventy nine, Byson seventy seven, eleven seconds remaining
in regulation. Shot fock turned off un D with one
found in the game. They have five team fouls Bison
seventeen fouls.

Speaker 2 (02:15:32):
Un D is in the bonus.

Speaker 1 (02:15:34):
One timeout remaining for the Bison Possessionario favors UND.

Speaker 2 (02:15:38):
They have two timeouts. Here we go.

Speaker 1 (02:15:41):
Everybody's standing in Grand Forks in state, bragging rights on
the line by is it down by two eleven seconds remaining.

Speaker 2 (02:15:51):
NDSU from lem to right.

Speaker 1 (02:15:53):
Jacari will inbound in the back court, finds Watkins and
gives it back to Jacari eight seconds as he breaks
the timeline five seconds Toakari straight away drive to the basket,
Spins puts it up, blocked away my kid and the
buzzer sounds. Buzzer sounds, no whistle, no fowl came over
and grand Ports.

Speaker 2 (02:16:18):
The isaon come up short.

Speaker 1 (02:16:22):
Eli King with a defensive play as Jacari drove into
the basket. An NDSU balls against UND seventy nine to
seventy seven. The final score. Isaac got the ball to Jakari.

(02:16:52):
He brought it up the floor, attacked the basket one
on one, trying to spin into the pain. King was
right there, got some of the ball. I don't know
if we got some of the r but unfortunately there
was no whistle. And that's all Zeer Road here and
und Ohole Team for und is celebrating and from the

short today against UND seventy nine to seventy seven. The
final score NDSU unable to get the job done in
the closing stages, UND got up and one basket off
an offensive rebound, took the lead by two. Bison had
the ball eleven seconds remaining and a chance to time

(02:20:14):
of the two or three, but Jacarie White drove to
the basket, a lot of contact underneath the basket and
unfortunately no call for the Bison as indy as you
had time expire after that, and that.

Speaker 12 (02:20:42):
Yeah, extremely disappointed in us, right, I mean that's no
not to take anything away from North Dakota, but I
just thought, you know, they were the more tougher team,
they executed better, and obviously it was costly for us.

Speaker 1 (02:20:54):
The final sequence there, coach, obviously a lot of contact.
Did you see anything and did the official say anything?

Speaker 12 (02:20:59):
Yeah, I mean you don't play forty minutes and have
one possession determine it?

Speaker 4 (02:21:04):
So contact, no contact? You know, the Bison got to be.

Speaker 2 (02:21:07):
Better, Coach. How can this group bounce back from this one?

Speaker 4 (02:21:10):
We'll see what our endurance and resiliency.

Speaker 12 (02:21:12):
This is a group that's got to understand, you know,
the importance and value of the things outside of the
box score, like I've stressed countless times over and over.
But then also we just got our tails kicked on

tough and together, that can't be something you write on the.

but first let's pause ten seconds for station identification. You're
listening to Buyson Basketball, all right, dex Obviously not the

(02:31:07):
way the Bison. We're looking to have this one unfold
here today. It was a tough second half. Bison were
outscored forty six to thirty eight in the second half
and obviously came down to one possession. As coach Richmond said,
no for a minute, game comes down to one thing.
But let's walk through that end there. Bison down two
eleven seconds ago. Jacari trying to drive to the basket

(02:31:28):
and gets blocked and they don't call any fouls.

Speaker 5 (02:31:31):
Yeah, you know, I do agree with coach Richmond that
to that extent. I was looking at the stats we
were talking during break. You know, you have four guys
in double digits, including Jakari at twenty three, and that
should put you in a position to win the game.
But no matter what I mean, it doesn't matter who
you're playing against. If you lose the rebound battle by seventeen,
you're gonna be in a dog fight. So Indyasu was lucky,

(02:31:52):
lucky to be in a position to try and go
tie that game up, to even have a chance at
the end. But you know, looking at it as a
former player too, so I didn't think the game was
very well officiated, just in the fact that it was
an inconsistent whistle. I'm not saying it was more lopsided
one way or the other, but they let these guys
come out and play pretty aggressive in the first half,
and I always really like that as a player.

Speaker 2 (02:32:12):
Obviously it's a physical game.

Speaker 5 (02:32:13):
They let those guys go, and then they come out
in the second half and really tighten up the whistle,
and that's really hard to adjust to when you've been
aggressive for twenty minutes and now all of a sudden,
you got to step back on your heels and make
a read. So then to go through that whole second
half and kind of see everything get called and then
not get a whistle on the last possession. You know,
I understand the basketball statement that you don't want to

(02:32:34):
have the officials decided game, but at the end of
the day, when it's been a pretty tight whistle, there
was an end one not that long ago. Down on
the other end, it's the right read to be aggressive,
get downhill, down to and try to get to the
hoop and draw some contact. And you know, obviously we're
a little biased, we're the NDIUS you guys, there probably
could have been a foul call there, but like coach
Richmond said, NDSU shouldn't have been in that position to

(02:32:55):
have to go try to get a bucket to tie
the game. You go back to the other possession where
like Kings at the free throw line, Klue of its
subs in and gets it oh board and that leads
to panoa N one and shot themselves in the foot
a little bit to end this game. And that could
have been a completely different ending if they cleaned up
the glass more.

Speaker 1 (02:33:11):
Yeah, partner, it's kind of reminiscent of what we saw
last year here again close game. Bison led for majority
of the game until later stages, never were able to
stretch the lead to double digits.

Speaker 2 (02:33:23):
And what was the factor keeping UND in the game?
The offensive glass.

Speaker 1 (02:33:27):
You said it, NDSU out rebounded by seventeen in this
game forty one to twenty four. UND had fourteen offensive rebounds.
Obviously the big one that you just walked us through.
What does the adjustment look like for this squad on
the class that's been something like coach Richmond told us
he's been preaching for weeks and weeks we've seen flashes

(02:33:48):
of it.

Speaker 2 (02:33:48):
Clearly it was the Achilles heel today.

Speaker 5 (02:33:51):
Yeah, really, it's just guys locking in and wanted to
go get it. You know, I thought that NDSU did
a decent job with you and D's bigger guys. But
then I remember thinking to myself in the second half,
there was a lot of times where NDSU defended, Well,
they're taking care of the big guys, and then you know,
Panoam's coming down one on one, who's playing point guard.
Panoa's coming in and getting some boards. Smallest guy on

(02:34:13):
the floor had I think three or four zero boards
in that second half. And that's that's the type of
stuff where you know a lot of that second half
he's lined up across from Brendon Watkins.

Speaker 2 (02:34:21):
That's just one on one.

Speaker 5 (02:34:22):
Somebody wanted him more than you, and that's what you
got to take some pride in that battle and step
up and do something. So, like coach Richmond said, it's
not like they I mean, you can't really you don't
put in a rebounding scheme or what type of execution
you're gonna have. That's just guys wanting to go get it.
And then that's a tip of the cap to you
Indie today. They wanted it more than Indiasu did.

Speaker 2 (02:34:39):
UND.

Speaker 1 (02:34:40):
With the win, they end up splitting the season series
now with the buyers in both home teams won their
respective regular season matchups. We will see if these two
cross paths and Sue falls at this rate. That probably
is unlikely because both are going to have to meet
and the championship for that to happen. UND is well

(02:35:02):
locked into the sixth seed or at least the bottom
four seed. They'll likely be the sixth seed getting their
fifth win today, It depends on what happens with Oral
Robert or with Denver Kansas City, who could still potentially
push for that six. But with the loss now the
Bison drop to nine and six in league. They only
have one more game to go, and that'll be Wednesday night,
Senior Day hosting USD. USD will play Omaha tonight in Omaha.

(02:35:28):
So you're you're looking at a four or five seed
at this rate, Dexter. It will depend on what happens
with USD. They've got a few more games to go,
but at this rate, you're probably playing USD in the
tournament no matter what happens, unless they can go on
a run to maybe squeak into the three seed. But
at this point you're going to see them again in

(02:35:49):
the regular season, and then you've got a week before
things get underway and Sue fall. So the question is
what is the mindset now for NDSU these next fourteen
days to make sure they're in the best position possible
once we get.

Speaker 5 (02:36:03):
To the You know, obviously I've known a coach ur
it's been a long time played for him, and you
know they're not going to be talking about seeding and
what's going on and who has to win what game?

Speaker 2 (02:36:13):
With this I mean, Indisu is going to be locked
into it.

Speaker 5 (02:36:15):
But at the same time, just from a mindset standpoint
and toughness in togetherness, I mean, it's all going to
be about going in the next Wednesday and finding a
way to win.

Speaker 2 (02:36:25):
Send your seniors out the right way.

Speaker 5 (02:36:27):
And to get that toughness and you know, just basketball defensive,
tough nose mindset. You got to get that back, kind
of get a little bit of momentum rolling as you
head down to Sioux Falls. Got to find a way
to win next Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (02:36:40):
We'll take a look here at the final stats now
seventy nine, seventy seven buys and fall against und Jackson.
Moni had a tough day, only fourteen points on six
of fifteen shooting two of seven from three point range,
six rebounds, four assists. Meanwhile, Jakari White led the Bison
with twenty six points, ten of twenty one from the floor.

(02:37:00):
Andy Stefanowitz only played ten minutes of the game because
he was hampered with foul trouble. We had two quick
fouls in the first half and then he got a
third one very early on in the second did not
return to the floor pretty much after that. Mason Miller
got off to a hot start but then became quiet late.
Fourteen points, four of seven from three point range. Noah
Fenderson four points and four rebounds. Lukasuki hit a three

(02:37:23):
off the bench, he was fouled on it didn't complete
the four point play.

Speaker 2 (02:37:26):
Unfortunately.

Speaker 1 (02:37:27):
Brendan Watkins played twenty nine minutes off the bench at
point guard, four points, four rebounds, four assists in just
one turnover. Derek Desett came in briefly on defense to Javis.
Miller had twelve points off the bench on five of
nine shooting. Bison shot forty eight percent eleven of thirty three,
thirty three percent from beyond the ark. They just didn't
have their sharp touch from the outside like we're normally

(02:37:50):
accustomed to. Eight of ten at the free throw line.
Out rebounded forty one to twenty four. Meanwhile, for und tracing,
Eagle Staff was a tough cover twenty seven points, eleven
of sixteen from the floor, five of six from long range.
Mamburu Mara was in double figures with eleven points, and
then Dang Mejor had thirteen points and seven rebounds on

(02:38:14):
senior day as well. Meanwhile, amark Aluovitch six points, seven rebounds,
Mere Panome nine points, eight rebounds, Eli King nine points,
eight rebounds, five assists, and the block at the end
on Jakari to win the ballgame. You and d shot
fifty one percent for the floor, nine of nineteen, forty
seven percent from three. They were just ten of seventeen

(02:38:35):
at the foul line, but they converted one of those
misses into the game winning and won basket. Next up
for und they'll be at Saint Thomas on Thursday night.
They improved to eleven and eighteen overall four and ten
on the season. Meanwhile, for the Bison, NDSU drops twenty
and ten overall, nine and six in the league. They'll
wrap up the regular season Wednesday night in Fargo, hosting

(02:38:59):
South dakotas seven pm tip off, pregame beginning for you.

Speaker 2 (02:39:03):
At six point thirty here on the Bison Sports Network.

Speaker 1 (02:39:05):
We'll have it for you and we'll get you ready
for the regular season finale as NDSU tries to send
off this senior class the right way and get ready
for the final game before the Summit League tournament. Partner,
always a pleasure, even on a tough loss like this one.
We'll see you back in Fargo on Wednesday and stick
the landing out of this thing. Yes, sir ken On wait,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
