Speaker 1 (00:01):
Week three of the NFL preseason is here. How do
you get on the right side of some line moves? Well,
that's what you're here to find out. Opening Line Report,
August eighteenth. A beautiful Monday morning, and no I am
not the beautiful Kelly Stewart, Dan Alexander here and the
driver's Seed joined by the incomparable Teddy Covers and Teddy Man.
(00:23):
We'll get into it because we got a Monday night
football game to night standalone preseason action, right The announcers
need their preseason fine tuning as well. That's why I
understand why there's probably a Monday night football game so
much to get into from what we saw in Week two,
and of course every single game broken down right here
getting you on the right side of the line moves
for Week three NFL preseason. Teddy, how are we doing
(00:46):
on a Monday morning?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Brother? Well, good morning Dan, Good morning audience. How's everybody today?
Looking forward to breaking down the world in the NFL?
What just happened, what's meaningful, what isn't? What we can
expect in week three? What we know already? What lines
on the move as we speak, loaded Monday edition, just
like every week right here, I'm the way to talk
opening a line report. So let's start with little Monday
(01:09):
night football talk, shall we.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Yeah, let's please, and guys, you definitely want to like
and subscribe, make sure you're here subscribe to the channel, because,
like Teddy said, every Monday morning, this is the way
to start your week. Handicap in the NFL. And Teddy,
let's be real with a standalone game. There's many people
who have clicked on this video simply because they want
to know how do we bet Monday night football? Anything
(01:30):
to be gleaned on this one. I know there's a
video up here on the page on YouTube Teddy breaking
this one down, so I know you have some thoughts here.
Cincinnati Bengals Washington Commanders Monday Night Football Action.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah, I do have a standalone video on this game.
You can see it on YouTube. You can see it
on my homepage WTT Buzzbackslash TC as I talk about
why the money has come for Cincinnati and we saw
the line. This line move off of three last night
was about ten o'clock at night and pretty much all
the sharp books went from three to three and a
half at that moment. The recreational books have also made
(02:05):
that move since the sharp money came in on, since
the last night, and it's twofold here, all right. I
would not be surprised if we see a little bit
more Cincinnati money. There's four starting to pop, and we
could see fours between now and kickoff because we got
a little bit of bet on and a little bit
of bet against, bet against four the commanders. It's all
(02:26):
about Dan Quinn. You know, Washington lost by thirty last
week at New England, and you look at Quinn's track
record again, the bet on coaches in the NFL preseason.
I'm tapping my brakes on that in theory, and we'll
talk about that as the show goes on. The bet
against coaches, there's no tap in the brakes. Dan Quinn
in Atlanta twenty seventeen oh and four straight up and
(02:47):
against the spread, twenty eighteen oh and four straight up
and against the spread, twenty nineteen, one and four straight
up and against the spread. The only one game they
won was a garbage week four matchup no preseason in
twenty twenty. He was fired by twenty twenty one. Last
year in Washington one and two straight up and against
the spread. The one win garbage time Week three matchup,
and this may be that, But that being said, we're
(03:08):
talking about a head coach who has a grand total
of two straight up wins two point spread covers in
his last five preseasons. So that's a bet against track record.
And of course they scored twenty or less fifteen times
in those seventeen games. So it's been a guy who
doesn't want to show a whole lot on offense. Hence
(03:30):
the anti Washington money and then the pro Cincinnati money. Well,
it gives me some urgency for the Bengals. You know,
Zach Taylor was not amused by some of the things
he's seen. Quote those are things as a team we
can't tolerate. We got to play better football than that.
Joe Burrow. Actually last week today was average overall. I'm
happy with the brat. Next week I'd like to be
a little bit better. So there's urgency for Cincy. There's
(03:52):
anti Washington center in the markets, and we've seen already
this line move off of three. It could go higher.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Man, whether you want to cash some tickets or just
sound smart talking to your buddies, nobody breaks it down
better if than my man Teddy covers Teddy. If Week
one of the NFL preseason was all about.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Overs, overs, overs.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
That was clearly the takeaway there and everybody thought, oh,
easy money, let's just keep riding the overs. I'm wondering
did that come back down to earth here in preseason
week two? And what was your big takeaway here for
the second week of the preseason as we had into
week three.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
So if you watched the opening line report last week,
after the bevy of overs in week one, I said
I would expect week two to be much closer to
fifty to fifty. What we see in week two, Well,
it's either eight and seven to the over or seven
and eight to the over going into Monday night, depending
on how your great San fran Vegas. That game was
as high as forty one and a half under money
came in before kickoff. It closed thirty nine thirty nine
(04:49):
and a half, so against the closing total it counts
as an over. That being said, for much of the
week it was an under, so that one landed in
the middle, but eight and seven or seven and eight
to the over, so it wasn't from a macro betting perspective,
there's nothing to talk about that's what you expect to see,
you know, closer to fifty to fifty. We had a
(05:10):
flip of favorites Miami Detroit. So when you're worried about
the favorite, and really, you know, there's so many of
these preseason games that are lined less than a field goal,
I really try to pay attention to the teams that,
you know, the big favorites, the teams that get this team.
And you see in the markets this morning, all right,
most of the games lined one and a half, one,
two and a half, a couple of threes. We don't
see a lot of games that are lined in the
(05:32):
preseason higher than a field goal. And when they when
we do see those games, it's because that's where the
money's poured in. The sharp money's poured in on one
side or the other. And the sharp money did very
poorly in week one. They didn't do that great in
Week two either. The cash the middals, which is Nicce, Tennessee,
Atlanta bouncing between two and a half and three and
a half. You know, that was good for savvy betters,
(05:52):
But there were four favorites that closed minus three in
a high three and a half or higher, and all
four of those favorites that took some steam. Throughout the week.
Every other game was lined into three or less those
four favorites. One in three straight up. San Fran beat Vegas,
Green Bay beat Indy, The Rams beat the Chargers, the
only win with Seattle beating Kansas City. So it was
(06:12):
again a week for the bigger underdogs. It was again
a week where if you faded the line moves, the
big line moves towards chalk, you did fairly well from
a total standpoint, exactly what we expected, much closer to
fifty to fifty. And there was a tight win. I
mean it was really most of the games fell between
like thirty one and forty five. The overs didn't go
over by very much, the unders didn't go under by
(06:33):
very much. So you know, that's what you often expect
in August. You don't see offenses clicking on. Also, you
don't see a lot of forty eight point outings like
the Patriots at week one, for example against the Commanders.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah, Teddy, maybe the sharp money was was partially distracted.
They were the half of them were at bet Bash, right,
So maybe maybe week three they'll finally be able to
focus up a little bit I'm messing with you, Teddy,
come on, come on yet?
Speaker 2 (07:00):
So I heard Better's talking. Oh yeah, there's not as
much money moving in the markets this week because all
these guys are here at bet Bash. I mean, yes,
bet Bash is. There's a lot of people there, but
I'm not convinced that it's affecting the global betting marketplace enough.
And it's not like they're not they're walking away from everything.
Then there's other guys but that they leave behind that
are they're doing what they normally do. Yeah, they have
(07:22):
had any packs I would encounter as a big impact.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Spot behay, you know gambling.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Twitter is always level headed, Teddy and always always having
the best takes out of the gate there. Man, if
I'm this jacked up talking about preseason football, I cannot
wait for what a week from now, we're going to
be back here on the opening line report talking week
one NFL numbers.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Teddy. So after Week three of the preseason, there's actually
kind of an off week before. So next week's show,
we're not going to talk week one. Next week's show,
we're going to talk a proper NFL preview. We're going
to go through all my divisions. I'm going to give you, guys,
you know, my take on all thirty two teams, teams,
what upside is there, what downside is there? We'll go
(08:03):
rapid fire fashion, you know. And also next week we
will have time for questions yep, at the end of
the show. So whatever you guys want to know prop wise,
you know, that's something you can absolutely ask me because
I'm not going to break it to you. But if
there's player props you want. And then the following week
Labor Day, we'll talk a week one of the NFL season.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
So that's all I know is we got an opening
line report every single Monday through the end of the
Super Bowl. After the Super Bowl you even get the
opening line report. So we're locked and loaded, folks, more
reasons than ever to hit that light button. Make sure
you're subscribed. The little bell will let you know when
we go live Teddy. Nothing to it but to do it.
So let's get into it. Preseason Week three, Pittsburgh, Carolina
(08:47):
is where we're gonna start. Guys, if you've never been
on the show, Before we start, we go rotation order
down the odds board so you can check out oddslogic
dot com. Go to the wager talk free odds, play
along with us and check out the games Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Carolina, Teddy.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
And these lines are pretty fresh because as of Sunday night,
last night, there was nothing. So this is a great
addition here. I turned the mic on over to you.
Let's talk some Steelers and Panthers and let's get into it.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Yeah, and you nailed it. There were no lines Sunday night,
and I can't tell you that doesn't happen very often.
Week three of the preseason and not a single book.
I mean, there wasn't anything. And then this morning I
was at my computer about a quarter after six and
there were already a handful of books that popped. I
wrote the openers from about a quarter after six, specific
time nine to fifteen and using my Odds Logic Live
(09:33):
odd screen. And by the way, get a free trial
the ods Logic Live Oddscreens. Go to oslogic dot com
back slash Teddy check it out. It really is a
kind of a cool product. If you've never had a
live odd service, play around with it. It's fun. But
I wrote the openers there again from about six fifteen
this morning. And let's start right here, right now, because
this game has an emergency betting alert written all over it.
(09:59):
Sure that's an interesting sound. This line opened Pittsburgh minus
one and a half. There were a couple of pick
coms out there, total sitting at thirty six. I'm seeing
right now the Steelers early up to two at a
handful of books. There is a prominent three out there.
They're also still one and a half out there as well.
I'm expecting more Steelers' money. Why well, Dave Canalis has
(10:22):
already told us he's not playing starters this week, all right,
even though the starters were rough, and that means a
lot of Jake Plumber or Jack Plummer, I should say.
And of course Carolina was not good. You know, they
weren't good in week one, they weren't good in week two.
Canalis now one and sorry one in four straight up,
oh and five against the spread. And as a head
(10:43):
coach in August and of course you know, as quote
after they got done, you know, they were one to
ten on third downs, three point six yards for play,
one hundred and sixty four total yards. Bryce Young couldn't
get anything going. Andy Talton couldn't get anything going. Uh,
and he basically said, I ain't playing starters. Quote. You know,
he said you wouldn't play starters in his final preseason
(11:04):
game quote. A lot of good work out there. To me,
to sum it up, it was the day of almost
I just kind of challenged a group, Blake, are we
going to be almost good? Are we gonna make the
plays when they're there to be made? So Canals is
always upbeat, doesn't look like he's playing starters. Mean well,
the Steelers they lost to Tampa Bay. You know, the
offense looked really sluggish. The defense didn't have starters. With
(11:25):
Mason Rudolphin, Skyler Thompson, then Logan Woodside, all three quarterbacks
had an interception. Thompson took three sacks. But Pittsburgh's defense
control the flow of that game. Let me give up
one point seven yards per carry. And Tomlin's a head
coach who seems to care about these games more than
most Steelers went seventeen and four straight up between twenty
seventeen and twenty twenty three in the preseason, oh and
(11:48):
three last year, one and one this year. After the
loss to Tampa it feels like there's a little bit
more interes circu at Pittsburgh. I think we'll see some
Steelers starters, and Tomlin cares about winning in August more
than Canalis does. Hence my encouragement. If you'll like Pittsburgh
bet I'm sooner rather than later. Right now you can
find minus one and a half for the dealers. I
(12:10):
do not think that will be available by later today,
and certainly not by later this week.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
EBA emergency betting alert right out the gate. You love
to see it. That's how we start a Monday morning
primetime Thursday, August twenty. First, you got the New England
Patriots taken on the New York Giants and Teddy if
it's over reaction season in the preseason, Travon Henderson is
gonna be Rookie of the Year from the Patriots.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Is everything that I'm seeing on Twitter.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
And the New York Giants will lead the league in sacks,
That's what I'm hearing from all again, the easy, even headed.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Folks over on X. How do we break this one down?
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Though?
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Teddy Giants and the Patriots? Looking about what two and
a half point favorites here for the Giants and on
the move?
Speaker 2 (12:55):
No, no, I'm seeing three and a hand. There was
two and a half at the open. Wow. Thirty seven
and a half and I'm seeing pretty much across the
board now for the g Man minus three and a half,
so it's already moved through the key number of three.
I'm not seeing any further indication that this line's going up.
It could, but this isn't a game where if you
if you wanted New England at the Giants are the
best the number, you already missed it, and I'm not
(13:16):
convinced it's gonna go higher. There is a little bit
of a betting bandwagon behind New England already. You know
Rabels two and oh straight up and against the spread
so far this year in the preseason. His last three
years in Tennessee, the three years with three game preseasons,
he went six and three straight up, five two and
two against the spread. So Vrabel's been making his backers
money both in Tennessee and here in New England. We
(13:39):
saw Drake May, then Josh Dobbs, then Woolridge went most
of the second half and what was pretty good? What
is the guy who I wanted to bet against week one?
And he was pretty good? He was pretty good again
this past week. May played a couple of series against
Minnesota's backups. Packers went twelve of twenty on third downs
note to twenty. That's a lot of third down oportunities.
(14:00):
It means the offense was to make a big plays
and the uh that a lot of that had to
do with the defense that were facing and Florius's blitz
packets were giving them trouble. But it's it's certainly a
Patriots team that you know, again, preseasons easy to love everyone.
But the New England's looked solid and the markets are
certainly favorite this team. But the Giants have preseason juggernaut
(14:22):
written all over them. All right, you have Jackson Dart
playing really well, You have Russell Wilson as the starter,
and then you have behind them Jamis Winston and Tommy DeVito.
You know, three of those four quarterbacks average ten yards
per play past tempt are better in the win over
the Jets. You know, Dart, I thought, guys are making
great plays for me. I was just trying to distribute
the ball of the playmakers. You know that being said Brian,
(14:45):
the ball has been it very clear. Russ is our starter.
We're gonna keep developing Jackson. But you know, the ball
entered twenty twenty five one to eight against his spread.
In nine previous preseason games, you know, four and five
straight up, but three of the four wins came by
a field goal or less. This year, the Giants with
that QB rotation, they scored thirty one and thirty four
(15:05):
in two preseason games, obviously two and zero straight up,
two and oh against the spread, and both those wins
coming by more than a touchdown. The g Men have
taken the very early money, but now that it's already
moved to three and a half, it could go higher.
But I'm not convinced that it's will that urgency. You
gotta bet this right now, isn't I'm not seeing it
there for the g Men right now?
Speaker 1 (15:26):
All right, Eddie, let's flip the page to Friday, August
twenty second. My Philadelphia Eagles were looking at one five,
one six, and outside of a Macuba pick six, Eagles
fans didn't have much to cheer for in their final
home preseason game. Now they'll go on the highway taking
on the Jets here and Teddy, you kind of have
your pick. I'm seeing on the odds screen here you
(15:48):
got half for the New York Jets all the way
up to what I see two and a half at CIRCA,
So it looks like Jets are the favorites here. How
are you looking to bet the final week here for
for both of these teams here?
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Well, so I'm gonna call it Jets open minus one
slash one and a half total thirty seven and a
half for this. We haven't seen a whole lot of
movement on the total yet, we haven't seen a whole
lot of moon on the side yet, and I'm again
still one one and a half just about everywhere. So Philly, well, gee,
(16:25):
Tanner McKey matters. Huh. You know McKee lit up in
lit up who they played week one? The Bengals, the Bengal. Yeah,
they absolutely lit up the Bengals in Week one through
for two hundred and fifty yards. Guy to the team
a touchdown after touchdown rallied from you know when Burrow
and company came in and scored two touchdowns and Philly
(16:46):
didn't matter. McKee just was was clicking on all cylinders
this past week against Cleveland, Tanner McKee rested. It was
during Thompson Robinson followed by followed by Kyle McCord, and
between that duo, Philly had eight first downs and eighty
eight total yards. And we love their depth on the
offensive defensive lines, so dtr and McCord, you know, and
(17:11):
again it may have been some of the dms. The
Browns defense might be pretty good, you know, better than
people are giving them credit for. But Philly's offense didn't
do anything this past week. And there may be a
little bit more urgenty here, but the defending champs, there's
no urgency and real the markets will move based on
McKee status. I'll tell you that right now. There's there
(17:31):
there's interest in Tanner McKee for a for a marketplace
that that looks for anything they can find that's that's reasonable.
In the preseason for the Jets, they got annihilated by
the Giants. You know, once again the passing game didn't work,
justin fields one to five for four yards. Adrian Martinez
was pretty good in that game, and Brady Cook closed
it out. Aaron Glenn quote, we were sloppy, and the
(17:54):
guys know that overall in general, it wasn't good enough.
I don't care what the starting offense, I don't here
was the second team offense, third team offense, So there
was certainly you know, Glenn was not abused by that performance.
We could see more urgents from the Jets. That's why
they're favored here. But the markets will move when we
find out if m Key's playing or not. I can
tell you that I would expect that. I haven't heard
(18:15):
anything yet. And again, for the purpose of this, you
know Monday morning video, when I have info coaches playing starters,
coaches not playing starters, carters are going to get a
cup of coffee. Stor is going to get two series.
When I have that info, I will share it. If
I'm not sharing it, it means it's not out yet
and the market's likely to move once that information becomes
available later in the week.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
Yeah, and for what it's where Teddy. I mean, McKee
is solely locked in at that two spot. And you know, Sirianni,
he's not a guy who really cares. He saw what
he needed to see probably in week one. I would
be surprised if you did see McKee again. That's just
my opinion, but we'll see if Sirianni agrees with me
there and ahead Teddy.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
So one of the things that I founded I was
reading a bunch of beat writers last night. They all
have their opinion you know the Carolina Fighters, Oh, the
Canala should play his starters this week, and this guy should.
Oh if I'm the coach, none of us are the coach.
So whatever, in the regular season, we can talk all
the time about what opinions we have. In the preseason,
(19:16):
my opinion doesn't mean nothing. Your opinion doesn't mean nothing.
And sometimes what the coach says before the game is
not what actually happens in the game because circumstances change.
And you know, we saw some bizarre stuff that I'll
talk about, you know, with guys being shuttled in and
out of the lineup, or guys who are sitting and oh,
let's get Jackson Dart in for a play right now.
(19:37):
You know, It's like I didn't even tell the covering staff.
I just thought it might be a good opportunity. And
then jacks and Dark comes in and throws a thirty
yard was a screen pass? Was a thirty yard completion,
and then he throws back to the bench. That kind
of shit happens in August. So what I try to
do on this show for the purpose of the preseason
is I'll give you my take, but the information is
(19:59):
what moves the markets and information is what helps you
win bet So my goal here is all about info
and we'll see if the key plays are not this week.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Yeah, and so the big takeaway folks, preseason opinions are
like Atlanta Falcons. We'll talk Atlanta Falcons here, Atlanta's taking
on Dallas. Teddy and graphic here of course, saying two
and a half. I'm seeing three and a half in
the marketplace. This is this is my struggle with the
opening line report is having the graphics updated because the
(20:28):
lines are moving when Teddy's doing the damn show. So
we got Dallas around three and a half point favorite,
you're looking at a total around thirty six and a
half thirty seven, Teddy, how are you breaking this one down?
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Yeah, big market move this morning on this game. They's
taking a third bit of money. It's been all Dallas money.
Opened one and a half. There were thirty six and
a halfs and thirty seven and a half on the total,
and that really someone took out the thirty seven and
a half down to thirty six and a half in
thirty seven and we've seen heavy money for Dallas. Three
and a halfs out there. There's four and a half
out there, right now for the Cowboys. So there hasn't
(21:01):
been a whole lot of bets on Atlanta, and we
can perhaps understand why would we look at Rhee Morris
who is now zero and five straight up, one and
four against the spread the last two preseasons in hot Atlanta,
so no wins, only one cover and of course the
quarterback rotation for Atlanta here in August. We're not seeing
Kirk Cousins. We're not seeing Michael Penix has been easton
(21:21):
Stick and Emery Jones east and sick through a pick
six in the first quarter and finished with just five
point one yards per past attempt. Emery Jones played in
the fourth he got stuffed on fourth down and then
he got hurt in that game. I did not see
an update as to how hurt Emery Jones actually is,
but it could be a lot of Eastern Stick this game,
because Jones got stuffed on a fourth down late in
(21:43):
the game and that was the end of himsel Stick
had to come back in for the final drive. The
running game didn't work for the Falcons over the weekend.
They had ten penalties. It wasn't a clean game, so
the market's not enamored with Atlanta right now. That being said,
I don't get to say this very often, but as
the Cowboys man, I had a big play on Dallas
(22:04):
over the weekend. I was not. I mean, boy, I
read it wrong. I couldn't have read it. You know,
Cooper Rush. I thought Dallas would have an answer for
Cooper Rush defensively. Cooper Rush lit him up. I thought
that Joe Milton was gonna take advantage of the opportunity
that he had and they were gonna call play to
try to make him work. And Joe Milton was god awful.
(22:24):
Dallas was pretty got awful in that game. I mean,
first Dallas Baltimore twenty six Dallas seven yard three nine
ninety one seventy six Baltimore more than forty minutes of
possession in that game. Brian Schottenheimer, who put a lot
of answers on, we got to get off to a
better start this week. We need you know, we can't
get pushed off the ball after they got lit up
by the Rams the previous week and they resulted the
(22:46):
first half possessions, two punts, a pick, turnover on downs
in a safety. You know, Shottenheimer, We're not pushing the
panic button. We're pushing the work button. Schottenheimer quote. It
wasn't just Joe Milton. We didn't get in a rhythm.
I thought we're gonna get some Will Greer on on Saturday,
and Will Grew did get in there. One to five
(23:07):
for thirty three yards. Shottenheimer's now oh and two straight
up and against the spread. This August Dallas as a team,
Jerry Jones isn't really you know. And Jerry Jones hangs
over the Cowboys franchise. He doesn't care about August wins
four and eleven straight up against the spreads in twenty
twenty one. The money coming on Dallas. Yes, I'm frustrated
with the Cowboys. No, I'm not taking Atlanta. But I
had my fun with Joe Milton this last week. I
(23:29):
do not expect to be betting on Joe Milton again
anytime soon. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
Four games down, twelve to go.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Here on the opening line report folks hop below in
the comments after the video goes live, and let us
know what games you're looking at. Eye Teddy will be
in the comments answering your questions. So keep them coming,
and the ones that are even good enough, we'll throw
them on next week's show as well, since we have
some open time four questions, So keep them coming, folks,
and make sure you're subscribed. Don't miss out on a show.
Like I said, Teddy, four down and a dozen to
(23:59):
go here, let's go one O nine one ten Titan
CT says, you want to talk about being wrong. I
had a huge play on the Vikings. Well let's see
if the Vikings can bounce back as well. They're taking
on at ten See. And again, line's kind of all
over the place on this one, Teddy, at least on
my Odds logic screen.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
How are you seeing this one?
Speaker 2 (24:20):
So I'm seeing I'm gonna call it Minnesota open one
and a half, thirty seven and a half Minnesota. I'm
seeing there's still one and a half at some books.
I'm seeing Tennessee as a favorite in other books. And
where's it gonna go? Good question. I'll say this all right.
(24:44):
I would not be shocked to see Tennessee money. I
feel like I almost should, even though I haven't seen
signs of it yet. Let me just look around and
see if there's anything bigger. I haven't seen any signs
of it yet, so I'm not convinced I would not
be surprised that I feel like I part of me
I'm ten did to give EVA on Tennessee, even though
I haven't say. And what I'm trying to do with
the EBA's early betting alerts emergency betting alerts is all right,
(25:07):
I'm seeing signs this is moving, therefore bet it now.
This isn't that yet, but boy, you know, cam Ward
finished two to seven, all right. He had three drives.
He had one first down Brandon Allen. Next he led
a couple of touchdown drives. And Trevor Simmons, who just
got signed off the waiver wire, but he's a veteran.
(25:27):
He led the drive there for the go ahead field goal.
In the game they won against Atlanta, they fumbled a
kickoff return that led to a cheap score for the
Falcon So the game wasn't perhaps as close as the
final score might indicate, you know, and cam Ward after
the game more reps for me, I'm probably seen. The
biggest thing I emphasize is making it hard of myself
(25:48):
in practice when I have a real rush coming at me.
I think I'll continue to get better every week. Looking
forward to next week playing a good defense in Minnesota,
so Ward sounds like he's expecting a play for the Vikings.
You know, they got slapped around by New England. But
it really was sloppy game. Ten penalties minus two turnovers,
(26:10):
four in the red zone. Minnesota set all of their starters,
they set most of their backups. They prioritize the joint
practices with the Patriots over the game time. Number two
QB Sam Howell had a rough game, you know, one
to five for thirteen, win a pick. The rookie Max
Brosmer played the entire second half and he was fine.
But again the rookie qbs, you know, Brett Rippon got
(26:34):
some action. I don't know that we're going to see
JJ McCarthy in this ball game. I wouldn't count on it.
And again, I'm Minnesota's defense has been really good this
August really has. I would not be shocked to see
Titans money. I'll just leave with that we have. I
haven't seen signs of it, but I'm kind of expecting
it at least a little. So if you like Tennessee,
(26:55):
take the one and a half. Now that's my not
emergency betting alert advice, but I think it's going to happen. Advice.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
So a soft emergency Bettylert doesn't warn the graphic or
the sounder, but a soft EBA for Teddy after we
just started talking about Hey, watch out opinions here. That's
why Teddy doesn't want to go full in on the
EBA because he hasn't seen the line move.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
Man a man of integrity, for sure. Teddy covers.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
All right, let's finish off Friday, August twenty second here,
and you know, talk about our takeaways from week two.
Chicago beat the breaks off of Buffalo last night. You're
looking here at total around thirty eight and a half,
thirty nine. Well, Chicago scored thirty eight by themselves against
the Buffalo Bills. Sean McDermott was not happy. We'll get
into that when we talked the Bills game. But Bears
(27:44):
and Chiefs, Teddy, how are you seeing any moves on
this one?
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Nothing yet open pretty much? Thirty thirty eight and a
half is a total three and a half for Kansas
City hasn't moved a whole lot yet. There is a
three out there. There's a three and a half minus
a nickel out there. I mean, this line could drop
down to three for Kansas City, But right now they're
pretty much three and a half across the world. And
(28:11):
I mean, obviously the Bears looked pretty good last night. Yeah,
it was what a three hundred and seventy one to
forty seven yard of advantage at one point in the game.
It was you know, twenty eight nothing at halftime, So
it was throughout three forty three to twenty two was
the yard advantage with an eighteen to one first down
(28:33):
edge for Chicago. Uh. And you know the other reports
that of Bears camp were the watchout for Tyler Badge,
you know, the backup QB. And boy he was good
uh yesterday after not being as good in the opener
thirteen to twenty two for one ninety seven last night
against the Bill's defense, and Caleb Williams look good. The
(28:56):
question is was that for chicagoing off and now we'll
see nothing in the finale. That is certainly a possibility
that Williams and Patient may both sit here now. Kansas City,
you know, they got bombed by Seattle and nobody played.
I mean there were no no nobody, nobody that could
(29:17):
smell a start this year got in there, you know,
is Minshew and then Zappie and then Chris Aladuken No Mahomes,
the trio of Minschew Zappi and all the Duken with
eighty eight passing yards on twenty attempts. They had nine
first downs for the twenty nine for Seattle. You know,
it was a blowout. It wasn't a game that the
Chiefs were really into it. Oh by the way, they
(29:37):
had a punt return touchdown in the fourth quarter late
in the fourth quarter sky More had a really nice return,
But otherwise they had lost that game thirty three to nine.
The offense didn't work in the Andy Reid era. We
seen casey you know to twenty twenty one, twenty twenty three,
seven and two straight up and against the spread in
August since it started the twenty twenty four preseason oh
(29:59):
and five straight up, zero and five against the spread.
They're laying points here to a team that has played
some pretty good football so far this August. Again, I
wouldn't be shocked if I see Bears money. But I
also wouldn't be shocked if the Bears don't play anybody
this week and Kansas City does it from this and
I didn't see Reid say I'm definitely playing the starters
this week. But this is a yeah, Reid said, I'm
(30:21):
gonna make sure that Mahomes gets a cup of coffee
this week. It matters, you know, because usually when the
starters come on to start the game, the coach will
leave them out there till they score. You know, you
have situations like you know, Bryce Young being out there
or cam Or being out there and they leave him
out there for a couple of tribes they ain't scoring
and the coach is like, all right, I'm gonna pull
these guys before they do. But in general, if Mahomes
(30:44):
is out there and the chiefs Affense is out that,
you expect them get a driver to and score something,
you know, at least three. And that's why you see
the markets react so much to the starters being announced
they're going to play. I haven't heard that from Kansas City,
but this line is telling me that the markets expect
that damp. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
And I mean when it was four preseason games, the
third one was always thought of as the dress rehearsal game, right,
And that was always Andy Reid's moniker. That's what he's
always kind of done, was third game. That's where we
see starters and like Teddy said, the line's kind of
already telling you that is going to be the case,
is it. That's what we're here to find out, Teddy.
We got ten games left here Saturday, August twenty third.
(31:23):
But first before we talk Baltimore and Washington. Hell of
a deal over at your page, WT Dot buzz slash TC.
It's called the seven seven seven deal, And Teddy tell
folks why they should hop on now, sooner rather than later.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Sure, you know you're gonna live in Vegas, you need
a seven seven seven deal. This is really simple. You
get every play every day. I'm always telling people, don't
buy a play, buy a package, and I firmly believe
that we put up packages for sale and understand there's
a market out there for people that want a daily package.
But if you're serious about sports betting and you're serious
about investing in a capper, this is gonna get you
every play every day in every sport. They'll get the
(32:01):
rest of baseball season, they'll get NFL, you get college football,
and oh you'll also get NBA, where I'm the number
one caper since twenty twenty two at Wader Talk and
college hoops when it starts for me in December. So
every play, every day, every sport, all five percent, big
tickets included, et cetera, et cetera. And at seven seven seven,
seven hundred seventy seven bucks, it's nearly like half off
(32:23):
the usual price for a deal like that. If you're interested,
if you want to partner up this football season, check
out my page WT dot buzz backslash TC. Let's see
if we can make some money together. So again, seven
every play every day at w TT WT dot buzz
backslash TC.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Nailed it.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
And if you've never bought before, if you've never you know,
tried any handicappers out from wader talk, I couldn't agree
more with Teddy as far as he's talking, you know,
taking a long term approach. If you want to dip
your water, If you want to dip your toes in
the water, come and join us on Tuesdays. You can
try a play for five dollars. Check out handicapping styles,
see what you want to do. So if you want
to buy a play short, go do it. What is
(33:03):
it like twenty five thirty bucks? If you if you're talking,
you know, five percent plays. If you want to dip
your toes in folks, join us on Tuesdays. If you
want to take this long term approach, these packages are
the time to do it because the specials, you know
a lot of people buy them at full price. This
is this is the time you're going to go long term.
To go long term, Teddy, and.
Speaker 2 (33:20):
We really encourage Look, if you're a first time if
you've never bought before, or you encourage you, you know.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Check it out, save the money.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
You know, it's that fin all, two days a great
time for newbies to get on board. And of course
if you want to partner up, like I said seven
seven and seven, it's August, it's like the third week August.
You get every play through December thirty first in every sport,
So try it up. Appreciate your new bees, Thanks for watching,
Guys Cheers, and if you like the show, tell your friends.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
Absolutely tell your friends and hop below in the comments
and let us know what you think of the show.
What you'd like to see more of, but you'd like
to see less of? Probably less Dan, Alexander Moore, Ellie
in Vegas. I understand that, but Teddy, let's do Baltimore, Ravens,
Washington Commanders here it seeing about what two and a
half for the preseason darlings that in recent history haven't
(34:11):
been so much. That's the Baltimore Ravens. And we're looking
at about thirty five and a half. Painted what are
you seeing in this game, Teddy?
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Yeah, two and a half. Thirty five and a half
hasn't moved from the open and it's not gonna move
until we see the Commanders play tonight. But at the
open of the show, I talked about dan Quinn's track
record twenty seventeen in the preseason oh and four straight
up and against the spread twenty eighteen, oh and for
shit up and against spread twenty nineteen one, and for
sit up and against the spread in August. No preseason
(34:38):
in twenty twenty was gone by twenty twenty one last
year in Washington one and two straight up and against
the spread in August this year, oh to one. So
far so again. Five last five preseasons for dan quinn
Is teams have won twice and covered twice. So there's
if we see Washington no show again tonight, Baltimore will
(35:00):
be a bigger favorite than this before kickoff this next week.
You know. As for the Ravens and o'harball went twenty
three and oh from twenty sixteen to twenty twenty two,
and then two and four straight up slash h and
six against the spread in twenty three twenty four. Both
of those straight up wins came by a single point
(35:20):
after their opponents missed two point conversions to win the game.
That being said, the Ravens are two and oh straight
up this year. They beat the Coltsweek one and got
my money against Dallas last week. Now, every single mainstream
site out there is Colin Harbow quote the best active
coach in preseason against the spread. I'm not convinced that
(35:43):
there's that urgency for Baltimore this preseason. And of course,
coming off an annihilation of Dallas first downs Baltimore twenty
six Dallas seven yards three ninety nine to one seventy
six Baltimore more than forty minutes of possession they played well,
I'm not convinced there's that level of urgency this week.
But again Washing gets bombed tonight, it will only be
Ravens money.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Yeah, trends are great until they're not case in points.
The Baltimore Ravens Teddy one fifteen one sixteen another one
o'clock game here on Saturday. It is the Colts taking
on the Bengals, and you mentioned Taylor not too happy
with his locker room what they've seen here in the
(36:25):
in the preseason.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
They're taking on the Colts here, and what are we seeing? Colts?
What a one point favorite? What are you seeing in
this one?
Speaker 2 (36:35):
Teddy? Yeah, I'll call them one slash one and a
half for in the total thirty eight and a half
in this game. We're seeing some overpressure on this contest.
I think an off over pressure, perhaps Fernberg betting over.
Speaker 4 (36:51):
You love to see it, Teddy.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
I'm expecting over money here. We're seeing stuff as diys
thirty nine and a half right now, and again since
he plays tonight, so fro an emergency betting alert standpoint.
I don't think we're going to see this line go
crazy today. We could, but I doubt it because the
Bengals haven't played yet. But we've certainly seen enough indicators
from Cincy that they're a interesting scoring points be that
(37:25):
the offense works. And as for Andy, again, we're expecting
to see a resolution of the quarterback situation this week,
whether it's Anthony Richardson, whether it's Danny Jones. And look,
the insiders are saying they expect Richardson to win the
job because Jones hasn't won it. You know, obviously they
(37:46):
brought in Jones for competition, but Richardson's there guy. Richard's
the guy they expected. Then from an upside standpoint, he
probably got a little bit more than Daniel Jones. So
I would not I would be surprised if Jones wins
this job. That couldn't mean that Jones sees the entirety
or much of the game this week against Indy. But again,
there are thirty eight and a half's out there right now.
(38:10):
Several of them are juiced to the over. I would
not be shocked at all to see over money for
since the Indy in a matchup where you're talking about
quarterback rotations, that that makes sense. And of course, you
know Stiking played a lot of his starters into the
second quarter this past week. I'm not convinced we're gonna
see I don't know what and He's gonna do this
(38:31):
time around. But Riley Leonard Jason Bean are a couple
of guys that could end up getting a lot of
playing time. And if it is that duo my emergency
betting alert is garbage and we're not going to see
the move towards the over like I expect.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Yeah, and again just to clarify, as far as the
emergency betting alerts work, this is get on the right
side of the market. This is the way that Teddy
sees the market going. Doesn't mean hey, pull the robber
band off and this is the sign that you should bet.
That's something that you'll kind of learn that Teddy will
talk about as we go through the year.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Yeah, So this is not These are not my official bets.
These are not the stuff I'm giving out to my clients.
This this stuff where I see the markets moving, are
likely to move and if you want it, and it's
not in the mercy Betty, I don't even like the over.
If you know you don't want to bet the over,
don't worry about it. If you want the under, you wait.
You know, from a side standpoint, I talked to earlier,
earlier in the show with an EBA about Pittsburgh, who,
(39:26):
by the way, I'm seeing threes now popping up the
whole Bunchel book. Come on, that's what we try to do.
You know, I want to get you guys ahead of it.
It's not like you have to bet the Steelers. But
it's not like I've loaded up on Pittsburgh as an opinion.
When I see that, you know, again, I've been in
Vegas since nineteen ninety eight. When I see the signs
(39:47):
that the market's gonna move, I try to share that
with you before the market's move. I'm not right one
hundred percent of the time. Sometimes i'm wrong, sometimes nothing happens,
but I'm right more than i'm wrong, and I'm certainly right.
And that's why we do the emergency betting alerts because
you know, for this Pittsburgh game, we expect the Steelers money.
We already seen Steelers money.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
So yeah, And that's and that's the business that you're in, folks.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
Like if you're watching this show, whether you're a rec
better or pro better, you want to bet games and
sides that you like at the best number you can
bet them. And that's the idea behind the emergency betting alert.
That's Teddy Covers. You can follow him on Twitter at
Teddy Underscore Covers. Teddy, let's talk the next one o'clock game.
So what it's the second out of the four one
o'clock games that they have, and it's Denver taking on
(40:32):
New Orleans, a team that has a lot of hopes
for this year in the Denver Broncos, and a team
who many folks think will be the worst team in
the league. Here, But how does that translate to preseason football?
Probably not too much, Teddy. How are you looking to
break this one down?
Speaker 2 (40:47):
Broncos minus three and a half thirty seven and a
half of the open We haven't seen any movement on
this whatsoever. Sean Payton three and oh straight up and
against the spread in the preseason last year, two and
oh straight up and against the spread in the preseason
this year. The last four wins for the Broncos under
Peyton in the preseason all by twenty or more points,
(41:08):
zero losing preseason straight up his last four years in
New Orleans dating back to twenty twenties twenty seventeen. We
have Jared Stidham, who's been great thirty of thirty eight
passing three and or seventy six seras in four touchdowns
this preseason. Then Sam Allinger, you know, I don't know
if we're gonna see bon Nicks or not. Denver's defensive
depth had been phenomenal, and the Broncos are showing science
(41:31):
right now in August, and the wise guys love this
team already. So there's already been Denver money you talked about.
In New Orleans. They got the seventeen to seventeen ty
with Jacksonville Joe for the touchdown and the two point
conversion late, and I'm seeing I was reading stuff Spencer
Ratler had the edge over Tyler. Shuck. No, Spencer Ratler
(41:52):
played against the backups. He played in the second half.
I was playing in the first half, and when you
play in the first half, you've seeing tougher competition. So yeah,
I rather had, you know, rather had one field goal
and one touchdown for the entirety of the second half. Shuck.
I felt really comfortable. But listen to this quote. It's
all new for us, a new offense, new system, new
(42:15):
guys were thrown to, so there's going to be growth moments.
You know, killing Moore sooners always better. But the guys
are competing, they're given everything is all we can ask.
Will continue to evaluate. They have no idea what they're
doing at the quarterbacks station right now. And you talked
about New Orleans might be the worst team in the NFL,
and my powering is going to the season. I've got
them worse than the Browns, worse than the Giants, the
(42:37):
thirty second ranked team in the league, and a team
that has QB issues which may create some urgency for August.
But the markets are on step in front of Peyton
and Denver have been bet on all the way.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
Yeah, well, you can call it the Shadur Sanders effect.
When you get to play against the second and third
stringers and then you light the world on fire. That'll
that'll be the the new coin term for moving forward
here through the preseason. Teddy, let's keep it Roland one
nineteen one twenty on the on the odds board. Here
we're looking at the rams taken on the aforementioned Browns.
(43:11):
Perfect segue there, Teddy, how are you looking to break
this one down? Because I'm seeing what is it over
at fan Duel four and a half is what the
odds logic screen is showing here on Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
Yeah, let's emergency betting alert this one as well. I
don't know we're gonna have any more than not one,
but this could be open. This opened three and thirty
seven and a half we've already seen Brown's money three
and a half, three and a half minus twenty. There
are fours out there, there are four and a half
(43:43):
popping out there. We're going. I expect we'll see more
Cleveland money than what we just saw, than what we've
already seen. It's very much a circumstance. Four. Now I've
lost my notes? Where am I at Cleveland Browns? There
we go? All right? So, first of all, the Rams
(44:04):
don't give a crap. All right, McVeigh does not care.
Last week plus two and a half to plus eight
and a half money poorting against him. No head coach
the NFL cares less about August wins than Sean McVay.
That being said, the Rams are now four and one,
straight up, five and zer against his bread in August.
The last two years, it was all stetson Bennett. Last week,
I'm expecting to see lots of set and penned again.
(44:24):
This week we're gonna get an update on Matthew Stafford today.
I would not expect Stafford to move. The offense was
just fine for the third stree quarterback twenty six first downs,
four to fifty eight total yards, six point zero yards
per play they did allow a punt return touchdown. That said,
it was kind of a lucky win against the Churcher's
Bennett through a red zone pick, then a three and
out and then he hit a forty yard completion in
(44:44):
the final seconds did of set up the game winning
field goal. The market's not enamored with the rams for
the Browns, you know, and again we're hearing the quotes
from Tofansy that he wants to name a starter. They're
not there yet, you know, whether Tyler Huntley or Dylan
Gabriel or whether we're gonna see Standards or Flacco, we
don't know yet. Nonetheless, there's quarterback competition, and there's a
(45:09):
decent quarterback rotation, and there's urgency. And two straight weeks
for Cleveland, that defense hasrilly been the best unit on
the field. You know. They shut down Carolina last week
and shut down Philly over the weekend. So the Browns, again,
we've already seen them take some money. Would not be
surprised that they take more money between now and kickoff?
Speaker 1 (45:31):
All right, Teddy, we'll keep it moving here. Final one
o'clock kick. You got Houston taking on Detroit. What are
you seeing in this one ted.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
Yeah, Detroit open one and a half, thirty six and
a half. We've seen a little bit of under money
at a couple of books. I'm seeing thirty sixes and
thirty five and a halfs out there, basically sitting still
at one and a half at most locations right now.
The Texans beat Carolina, that's likely the last to what
we've see in for the starters for the Texas in
the Preseasony only give up one first down in three
(46:02):
series when O actually the defense again. Stroud got to
start six of eight of forty four, then Davis Mills,
then Keton Slovas, then Graham Mertz, Slovas and Mertz. That's
a rough quarterback combination. I don't know how much Mills
we're gonna see here either, and I would not expect
to see a whole lot of Stroud, although I haven't
heard that officially yet from the Texans. The Lions got
(46:23):
beat by Miami. Kyle Allen was pretty good in that game,
fourteen to seventeen, bucks, twenty four two touchdowns, no pick.
Hendon Hooker, who said it was a big preseason for him.
He's been pretty awful, and Dan Campbell said it quote
right now. I would trust Kyle Moore, but we're still
gonna coach Hooker up. I'm going to try to get
him more reps against this week. You know, Allen, we
(46:44):
got a really good, really complete offense. I know I
have optioned on every play. I'm confiding to know where
to go on every call. That's a nice feeling. Detroit
against Miami one to twelve on third downs, thirteen penalties.
They go three to three on four downs. Damn Campbell
football already. I expect to see a lot of Hooker
this week. He's the guy who needs to work and
it's a meaningful game for him. But Campbell doesn't care
(47:06):
about winning at this time of year, and I don't
see a ton of money coming to the Lions.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
It's Teddy Covers WT Buzz slash TC is where you
can find them. We talked about earlier. Check out that
seven seven seven deal Teddy. We got five games left
to go here, four o'clock kick.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
We got Seattle taking on.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
The Green Bay Ackers, looking like another road favorite. That's
kind of a customary thing. You see a lot here
in the preseason. Thirty eight and a half, we'll call
the total. How are you looking to break down this one, Teddy, Yeah,
I'm calling Seattle.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
That was ones at the open and one and a
half thirty eight and a half the total. Haven't seen
a whole lot of movement at all. Still one and
a half out there, thirty eight and a half For
most of these games on Saturday, I'm not expecting to
see a whole lot of movement on Monday morning. The
action is more likely to come in on the Thursday's
last Friday games. This coming right at the open, then
we'll see for the Saturday games. More time and less
(48:00):
info available for most of these contests. But Seattle's a
little bit of road shock. Sam Donald was good against
Kansas City. The Seahawks have really met put in all
the emphasis on running the football this August. Well I
had another big running gay against Kansas City. Forty eight carries,
two hund and sixty eight rushing yard. It's five different
players rushed for at least thirty yard. Mike MacDonald. The
(48:23):
backs ran really hard every back today. I thought rand
the ball hard going forward, how we finished plays. I
can't wait to watch it and again that game thirty
three to sixteen. It was thirty to nine before they
give up the punt return touchdown. Seattle going bet on
signs this August, and the ability to run the football
in August is a positive sign for a team, that is,
if he has had had ifiostav line play of late.
(48:46):
There's a joint practice between these two teams on Thursday
that will probably affect how the player rotations are in
this game. We're not gonna see obviously, Jordan Love, who's
still recovering from surgery. Malik Willis is not a bet
on QB at the NFL level. Taylor AIGERSMA had a
better game this week. Sean Clifford just one of four
for eleven yards on the final drive, But Clifford the
(49:08):
type of backup I don't mind having my money on
in August. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised at
all if it's AIGERSMA and Willis for the majority of
this contest. No player rotation announced just yet.
Speaker 1 (49:21):
Over two thousand of you watching us live here, we
greatly appreciate it. This is the opening line report wage
to Talk TV. And if you're just joining us now, folks,
you already missed three emergency betting alerts, so make sure
you get notified when we go live. But if you're
joining us now, just watch there. Watch It'll be on
Teddy's Twitter, Kelly's Twitter, or head on over to YouTube.
Speaker 3 (49:40):
That's where we would appreciate you watching.
Speaker 1 (49:42):
Get those views up, get those likes coming, and hit
that little bell and you'll never miss when we go
live here, Teddy, what we got four games left here
on the slate Jacksonville and Miami is the next one
up here? And what are we seeing again? This was
one that when I was making up graphics, the line
was one thing, and I'm looking at something different here, Teddy.
Speaker 3 (50:03):
So what are you seeing? Jags and Dolphins?
Speaker 2 (50:06):
Yeah, me and you both. We've seen a whole lot
of money for Miami over the course of the last
couple of hours. Jacksonville was a favorite at the open,
and that one got popped early and significantly with the
Jaggs opened one and a half thirty eight and a half.
And now I'm seeing Miami minus three with Juice even
at some place, three minus a quarter at a handful
(50:28):
of books for the Dolphins. Yeah, three minus fifteen, three
minus twenty. So we've seen a lot of Miami money
so far for this one. The Dolphins with you know,
we saw Zach Wilson look pretty good this past week
and quinn Ewers, who I wanted to bet against week one,
(50:50):
and he was pretty bet against week one. It didn't matter.
Yours was much better this past week. McDaniel did not
say if the starters were going to play after the
Perhaps there's been an announcement there already this morning. Perhaps they're
just getting in front of a Jacksonville team that is
not likely to play starters. And again we've seen Trevor
(51:13):
Lawrence look good in a couple of preseason performances. They
were sloppy in the scrimmage on Thursday, and the starters
played much better both sides of the football on Saturday.
Now it's in theory of bet on QB rotation for
the Jags Trevor Lawrence, Nick Mullins, John Wolford, Steth Hannigan late,
but I don't think Lawrence is gonna play here. We
(51:33):
may not see Mullins this week. It could be a
lot of Wolford and Hannigan, and Hannigan hasn't shown any
bet on thus far coming out of Memphis.
Speaker 1 (51:44):
Daddy next game up here, we got Buffalo and Tampa
Bay and after last night's shacking that the Bears had
at the at the against the Buffalo Bills. Here I
saw quotes from Sean McDermott and I said, well, I know, Teddy,
you'll have.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
Something to talk about with the Buffalo bill.
Speaker 1 (52:00):
Here they're taking on the Bucks and no surprise seeing
Tampa Bay as a favorite. But that favorite number seems
to be shrinking, at least on my screen, ted are
you seeing the same.
Speaker 2 (52:10):
Let's get our final emergency betting alert of the show
on right here, right now, four of them Tampa opened
one and a half, thirty seven and a half. I'm
seeing one and a half is out there still. I'm
also seeing pick'ems right now. We've seen some of the
leading indicator books move towards Buffalo after that dismal showing
(52:35):
against Chicago yesterday. If you liked the Bills, I would not.
I would tet find a one and a half right
now and grab it because I'm not convinces going to
be there all that much longer. Both DKY and fandall
have that number available as we speak. But it's pretty
clear we're going to see some Buffalo money now. Trubisky
wasn't good yesterday. Mark White wasn't good yesterday. Josh Allen
(52:58):
hasn't played in either of the preseason game. It's worth
nony Allen's thrown at least three passes in every preseason
since he came in the league in twenty eighteen. The
market saying we could see a little bit of Josh Allen,
at least a cup of coffee with him this week.
So with the Bills off a complete no show, the
Bills off a disbel game, the Bills with a veteran
QB rotation, the Bills potentially playing Allen this week, that's
(53:20):
why we're seeing money for Buffalo right now. As for Tampa,
they got to win against Pittsburgh. Kyle Trask wasn't good
as a second stringer, only three compass completions of four
first half drive zero points. Connor Basilax not necessarily a
bet on QB in the second half, had a muff
punt set up the Steelers tying touchdown. But they couldn't
(53:41):
run at all against Pittsburgh's defense, and that's certainly concern here.
Against the Buffalo defense, that's far better than what we
saw yesterday against Chicago.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Man four emergency betting alerts. I cannot wait for the
regular season to be here. But this is scratching the itch, Teddy,
I will tell you, and it's a fun time.
Speaker 3 (54:01):
Go ahead.
Speaker 2 (54:01):
Well, I expect fewer emergency bettlers than regular season. You know,
we see early on, but you might see a couple
of Week two, Week three, we'll see a handle. Week one.
We're not gonna see any I'll tell you that right now,
because the market.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
I mean they've been out, they've been out for our
damn long borring anything crazy. Yeah, we would be shocked
to see an emergency betting alert. All right, two games
left here on our final preseason audition and then it's
all regular season, folks, exciting stuff. So to make sure
you're subscribed here, let's talk the Battle of California Los
(54:33):
Angeles Chargers, even though they just had the Battle of
Los Angeles at least last weekend. They're taking on the
San Francisco forty nine ers, this one taking place in
the Bay Area. Teddy, what are you seeing in this one?
I'm seeing pretty much painted three and thirty sevens and
a half.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
Yeah, the early money's come for San France. There were
two and a half's out there this morning. I call
it a split line two and a half three thirty
seven and a half. We've seen the two and a
halfs get eaten up and the Chargers don't care. You know,
the QB rote we had justin Herbert this past week,
I would not expect to see Herbert playing this week.
They got steamed to High Heaven minus two and a
half minus eight and a half against the Rams Tyler
(55:09):
Heineke then Trey Lance. That's certainly a bet on QB duo.
They had a punt return touchdown and still lost to
the Rams. Carball quote. I was happy with the action
that both our first team defense and first team offense
got in this game. We needed it. It helped us.
So I'm not expecting first stringers for the Chargers this game,
(55:30):
hence the San Fran money. That being said, the forty
nine Ers were missing twenty players due to injury going
into the game and they still beat Vegas, but they
lost three more offensive players injuries and the first half
starting guard got hurt. The defense didn't even have enough.
The first dring defense had too many injured guys to
(55:51):
play the first ring unit on was it Saturday. I'm
not laying that we all go with the forty nine Ers.
They're banged up team right now, and the week three
preseason game isn't making a difference, but isn't. I don't
think Shanahan's gonna worry about making getting guys ready as
(56:12):
much as he's worry about keeping this veterans healthy. The
Ford nine or after the last year's injury real disaster
cannot be an injury reddal disaster going into the season,
So Jenny has not playing anyone. I'm surprised this line
is still at three, but the Chargers are not a
team that the betters want this week.
Speaker 3 (56:28):
Yeah, spot on there, Teddy.
Speaker 1 (56:29):
All right, final game, this one going at ten o'clock
Eastern late night special for you to end the NFL preseason,
and that's the aforementioned Las Vegas Raiders taking on the
Arizona Cardinals. Ashton gent finally showed a little bit of flashes,
so something to be excited about for Raiders fans outside
(56:50):
of not much last week. Teddy, how are you looking
to break down this final one?
Speaker 2 (56:54):
Yeah, Arizona opened one and a half, thirty seven and
a half. The still people we're looking at right now.
The markets haven't done anything on this game just yet.
I mean the Raiders. Their run defense was really good
against the Niners. The pass defense wasn't good, and that's
been the reports coming out of camps. You got to
worry about this secondary. It's not necessarily a bet on
QB rotation depend how much Cam Miller plays. Miller's been
(57:15):
rough in both preseason games. He was rough again this
past week, two of six, stopped in the red zone,
down six, they settled for three and then through a
pick l eight to allow the game field goal against them. Yeah,
Aston Gent was really good, but you know, wow, a
running back got a couple of carries in August. Yay.
From a points spread standpoint, asking Gent, he's much more
(57:37):
interesting from a fantasy standpoint or a problem stamp in
any of that than he is from a points spread standpoint.
He's just a guy in that regard. Colonel's got bombed
by the Broncos. No kind of merrage Kobe Brissette than
Clayton Tune. Clayton Toon was rough. Twenty pass temps for
only fifty six net yards out first down to twenty
seven to eight total yards Denver five sixty two to
(57:58):
one thirty five. It could have been much worse. In
a game they lost twenty seven to seven. The Broncos
were only two to six in the red zone. Jonathan
gannon quote. We got out play tonight. That was obvious
by the score. You know, there's certainly issues in that
regard and urgency in that regard for Arizona. But week
three of the preseason, I'm not convinced either coach cares
(58:20):
too much. The markets have no idea what to do
with this game. That's why they haven't done anything just yet.
Speaker 1 (58:25):
Final week of the NFL preseason, folks. There it is
Opening Line Report in the books. Figures to see a
lot of backups this weekend, Teddy, just like we saw
on today's show with me as the backup to Kelly Stewart.
Speaker 3 (58:37):
She will be back next Monday.
Speaker 1 (58:39):
But Teddy, after producing this show for about four years,
it was a pleasure riding shotgun here with you, buddy,
