(02:38):
gonna it'll be fun for the kidsget out there and you know, get
the bang on somebody the side ofthemselves. You know, it's been a
pretty physical We've had a pretty physicalyou know spring. I think we've had
some kids get a lot better. You know. It's one of those things
where you got some kids to havethe team playing in some varsity games,
so you're ready to see them, you know, step up. You know,
(03:00):
I think, uh Jackson Kilvar quarterback. You know, we'll get to
see him and his first varsity start. You know, I think he's gonna
start tomorrow night. We'll get someyoung guys that have been coming in behind
them him and uh, you knowyou'll get to see in Nation and and
all those guys who had great yearslast year. Also. You know,
I think that uh Griffin, GriffinMcLean. You know, we've had We've
(03:24):
had, you know, four orfive college coaches a day come through and
you know, just you know, they these kids are getting offers left and
right. Jalen Davis, you know, picked up Arkansas State and two or
three offers in the last you know, three or four weeks, and Griffin
McLane and then Nation and you know, uh just uh Pit has picked up
(03:49):
some offers. So you know,we got a lot of guys who are
getting a lot of attention. Andyou know, I think that that's always
great man. It is good coach, There's no doubt about it. We're
talking over high school fo Baba coachKeith E Throws. The Tigers take on
Carver tomorrow night at seven o'clock atthe Duck and a spring game tickets for
five dollars for the Scrimmers game againstour spring game against Carver. Coach,
(04:09):
I meany, did you lose players? Did you lose last year? Are
about to lose when they graduate ina few weeks or week or two.
We lost? We lost forty guys. Uh, yeah, you're four.
We lost forty one, you know, so, I mean it's it's about
the same same number every year. You know, you're gonna lose forty to
forty five guys here from graduation, just because you know, we have such
(04:30):
big flat Yeah. We got onehundred and seventy four kids out this spring,
so it's some some massive numbers.Yeah. I remember when you first
got here. We were talking atlunch and you were talking about even when
the kickers went down, I meankickers you had. You've adjusted to the
numbers. You never had these typenumbers before, have you, Coach?
Oh? No, it basically nobblesthe numbers I've ever had. You know,
(04:56):
speaking of kickers, you know ourkicker Town Magoo has got a lot
of attention right now. He's Ithink he's ranked ranked the top kicker in
the nation, the number one really, yeah, durn I didn't know that.
Coach him and other kids battling outin some of these camps and you
know, um, so, youknow, I've had a lot of there's
been a lot of big schools comethrough and and talk about Towns. You
(05:19):
know, we've had a lot ofa lot of the big sec ACC guys
that he's number one on their board, and you know, he's just got
a thunderfoot. I call him Legatron. Now, what's his whole name?
Coach Towns Magoo Yeah, McGoo it'st l W and right soccer kid.
(05:41):
Yeah, came out last year wasthe first year. Uh, he's only
been kicking more about the years year. Unbelievable. You ever had one of
those coaches, That's what I was, just gonnas. So he is.
He is phenomenal. You know, his is his leg. You know,
just the ball comes off his footdifferent. You know, it's just uh
(06:03):
it's and it's fun to watch. And he's just as as good as a
kid as your want to mate, you know four point o students, you
know, Oh yeah, just likeme, coach and p I had that
four point h two. I'm dressedout every day. Coach like, like,
have you ever had one of thosebefore? Coach, Well, I've
(06:25):
had some good ones, um,but you know, he may be the
best I've ever had. Well.I mean, you know, come out
one year later he's Look I'm lookingon this. Look I put his name
in the internet. Go ahead, coach. Yeah, I had a couple
of kids that have came out anddid really well. But he's different now.
He is a great Not only ishe a great kid, he's a
(06:45):
great athlete, I mean, supercompetitive kid. You know, wants to
be the best he can be ateverything he does. You know, just
one of those kids who does thingsthe right way. We got a bunch
of those guys on this team,Ian Nation, you know, like I
said, Griffin point uh du JalenWhite. You know, We've got a
lot of those guys on this teamthat are just guys that that uh you
(07:08):
know, they just do things theright way. They bust a river hinting
and you know, uh they justyou know, over achievers. Yeah,
I'm looking at his interest. Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Mississippi
State, North Carolina State, NorthCarolina, Oh, Miss South Carolina,
Troy. There you go, Ithink he can kick, coach, So
there you go. Yeah, already, you know, like he's already got
(07:29):
you know, most kickers, theythey want you to come on campus and
they want to watch a kick andthey want to you know, nobody's going
to really offer you a full scholarshipuntil you come there and prove yourself and
you've basically been there for a year. A lot of times that goes,
well, he's already got you know, full ride offers. You know,
so that's that's pretty good for akicker, not even getting him going into
(07:53):
a senior season yet and he's alreadygot full ride offers. And it is
real good. Coach, that isno doubt. He kick off too,
he does everything. Oh yeah, you'll see him. You'll see him put
it out of the back of theend zone. Probably don't get gone.
There you go kicking to be bedead tomorrow night. Right, we'll do
the kick, but it'll be norush. We're not gonna get anybody hurt,
(08:13):
you know, flying down, don'tkickoffs and stuff like that. We
just want, you know, getget some good uh stream of time against
each other and let let's these youngkids play. Yeah, you got a
couple of you gotta your quarterbacks gone. You gotta get you You gotta get
that position sold up, don't you. Yeah, yeah, we do.
And I think that we've got somegreat young guys that are that are battling
(08:35):
it out. You know right now. You know we're gonna jack can kill
bors, like I said a start, and then you got guys like you
know, uh Hammer and Key andUpton. Um. You know, you
have some young guys come in lateron and and try to spend spend it
out there, and I think thatwe'll I think that you'll see, you
(08:56):
know, the future is really brighthere. How many players you have out
their coach, it will be dressedout tomorrow. Right now, we have
a hundred seventy four. Um,you know, we've got some guys that
are banged up that probably won't playtomorrow, and a right probably could,
but I'm not you know, we'renot gonna push it. And you know
it's just a practice game, youknow. And some of those guys that
are banged up are guys we knowwhat they can do. How do you
(09:20):
how do you see one hundred andseventy four coach? How does that work?
You got to make sure that everythingand we may not see all them.
Yeah, yeah, that's a greatcomment, coach. I'm glad you
said that. But you know,we'll get as many as we can in
if they've came in, they've donethings right, and they they busted in
spring. You know, we're we'regonna get them in there if we possibly
(09:41):
can't. I know you or youknow you always have some of them that
aren't you know, they just wantto do Yeah, I want to be
you know, they want to beon the team. You know, we've
talked about this number of times. You know, I love having eyes that
want to be a part. Yep. But you want to be a part.
(10:03):
You got to want to play. That's exactly right. Yeah, yep,
I understand that. You know,Uh, we've had coaches in the
past that that that you're you're fondof, that have said, you know,
we need that kid. You know, we need that young man.
You know, he needs us morethan we need him, and he and
we're gonna keep him, you know. Yeah, well Bill Clark told Bill
Clark told a couple of coaches atone year, you leave him along,
he needs us, I'll take careof him. And that's exactly right.
(10:26):
We wanna look, you never knowwhat a kid's gonna turn into. Well,
and this kid had a tough homelife coach and needed that and exactly,
yeah, you never know what akid's gonna turn into, and you
never know what a kid's going through. That's exactly right, yep. And
I remember that conversation was Coach Dubosand Coach Ross told us that story,
and and that's when they realized. Both of them said, hey, sometimes
you need those those kids worse thanthe you know what I mean, those
(10:48):
kids need you. You know, yeah, we have that. You know,
we have that situation, you know, in multiple kids, you know,
yeah, absolutely, Coach it doesimmature and and you know, just
just be better people, and doubtI did. How can you influence kids
(11:11):
if it's an with you? Amen, that's a great statement. That is
a great statement. Coach Washburn, just come in he now you talking about
somebody influencing somebody? How about thisone? Baby? That's yes, sir,
Hey, coach original, the original. I'm telling you you got you
(11:31):
got a kicker that could kick likethat. Now that's invaluable. I've been
listening to it coming in here.If nothing else, they kick it an
in zone. Think how important thatis to a high school coach. Now,
I got a kicker, really cankick you who I didn't have?
But two all time I coached,I knew was gonna kick it an zone
(11:52):
every time. We didn't have thatsoccer team to select from. But I
believe I had a if I wascoaching. Now I tell it, soccer
coach. Hey, I'm gonna supportyou. Coach. You'll get me one
get one kicker every year. I'lllearn the soccer game coaching. You'll get
me a kicker. Yeah, man, that's invaluable. Coach. Good luck
(12:13):
to you. You go. Iwas planning to come to a game,
but I got a bad hip.I can't get around. Man. I
wanted to say, you scrimmage onetime, but you're gonna do it tomorrow
night. Is that right? Yes, sir, we're gonna do it tomorrow
night. And if you if you, if you can't get up down the
stamps, you need to come indown loads, come on down there.
