(00:04):
we're going to Lynette to bring incoach Clifford Story, who apparently as resigned
as the football coach. Good morning, coach Story, Good Morningdee. How
you guys doing. We're good, coach, We're doing good. So tell
us a news coach. What's goingon? Buddy? Well, Uh,
it's it's it's it's been. It'sbeen a heck of of a decision that

(00:26):
I had to make, um,and you know it's it's his family based
decision. Um. You know,I'm having to do a little bit more
with my dad, Um he losthis leg about four years ago, and
also with my boys. Um,Christian, you know, he in the
spring after starting safety, and Caden'sis going to be in the rotation at
Clemson and I can't be, youknow, in two places at one time.

(00:50):
And I just made the decision becauseyou know, you don't get these
years back, especially you know,to have two kids playing at elite level
of football and so you know,it have it has really been hard on
me, you know, trying totrying to make it do um and um,
you know, leaving on Sundays andlook at their looking their eyes when

(01:10):
I say we can't go to brunchbecause I gotta get back, you know,
for film or you know, dad, can you make this? And
they know that I've always turned backand flips and make sure that Dad has
always been there no matter what movesI had to make. But you know,
it just became taxing on my bodyweekend and week out trying to do
it. And I can't be whatI have been at Lynette, you know,

(01:34):
trying to still do it that way, and so I want to be
to walk away and not cheat Lynetteprogram um and just be a dad right
now, Well, you know whatcoach good for you? And I think
I can share this now. Thisain't This is not the first time you
thought of this. I know lastyear you and I talked about it with

(01:55):
your kids being away, and youknow some concessions were made. But you've
been thinking about it a while, han't your coach? Yeah, I have,
and you know, and I Ijust felt like, you know,
it just was the time, youknow, we went through our spring evaluations
and I just sit back and Ianalyzed the staff and I analyzed the kids,

(02:15):
and my goodness, you know,it was hard because we're gonna be
good. It's gonna be really good. But you know, like I said
earlier, man, I believe inthe Neette. I know whether the Nette
still have here to be successful. And I didn't want it to be dry.
I wanted whoever come in and havean opportunity to have immediate success.

(02:35):
And you know, and they'll havea chance to do that with what they
got on the field, and youknow, and I just I just want
to be able to leave on somefridays, man, and you know,
and enjoy the function they have setup for it for parents and and and
just you know, enjoy that, man. And and it just been you
know. And I'm not saying I'mnot giving up coaching, because I still
love it. And you know, and I in my mind the way I

(02:58):
am, I know I may endup coming back later on, but right
now, I just want to stepaway and be a daddy. Hey,
coach, you can't blame me forthat. You can only do it once,
coach, have this time of yourlife, you know what I mean.

my hat to you for as wetalked a year ago about it. You
know what I mean, it's it'stough. Yeah, it's very tough.
Where do you what does Lynette do? Coach? What? What is the
turn now? What? What? What are they going to do as far
as replacing you as a head coach? Well, you know, we I

(03:45):
met with the Boston and we talkedabout you know, some guys internal it
um that that that we will feelcomfortable doing it. And we got a
few um you know, and we'llwe'll go through the process like we do
with everybody else and um. Butyou know, sometimes when you bring in
outside as it changed the whole dynamicof the of the programming, you know.
And I want somebody to be herethat that know these kids and know

(04:08):
how to treat them in you know, and know where to take to push
their buttons in and you know,so we'll see, you know. We

I would imagine the missus and yourboys are happy, am I right?
Yeah, they are, you knowit. It was an emotional weekend,
very emotional, but they they understoodand they they have always been supportable,

you know, in every move thatwe've made family wise. You know,
I've always been ahead to make thosedeciding and they've always supported me and whatever
stad we've made because the Good Lordhave always directed us where we need to
go. And so this was,you know, with his guide and this
