On Remembrance Day, the King, William and Kate lead solemn tributes at the Cenotaph and the National Memorial Arboretum while social media lights up over Harry and Meghan arriving at Kris Jenner’s Bond themed bash. Harry turns up in a tux with a poppy on his lapel, Meghan skips the poppy and gets roasted for it, then Harry pops up in a video message to veterans from Montecito. Commentators say the Sussexes are perfecting a half in, half out royal routine as Kate fronts the official ceremonies and fan favourite Lieutenant Colonel Jonny "Major Eye Candy" Thompson quietly steals the show in uniform.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Calorogus Shark Media Hellong, Welcome to Pallace Intrigue Game, your host,
Mark Francis. Today is Remembrance Day, and across the United Kingdom,
the nation will pause to honor those who have served
and sacrificed in conflict. It's a big day and a
predictable one on the Royal calendar, but as tends to happen,

(00:26):
we will have to talk about Harry and Meghan, who
have once again gotten the headlines. Meghan and Harry got
all dressed up for a very Hollywood night out celebrating
Chris Janner's seventieth birthday in proper double O seven style
that you can. Duchess of Sussex were photographed arriving hand
in hand at Jeff Bezos and Laurence Sanchez Beverly Hills

(00:46):
mansion where the lavish James Bond theme bash took place.
Meghan opted for a sleek black, long sleeved top paired
with matching floor length skirt, black Hills and a velvet clutch.
Harry looked the part of Bond himself and black tuxedo
and bow tie, complete with a red poppy pinned to
his jacket in recognition of Remembrance Day. The guest list

(01:08):
was as glittering as the diamond cufflinks. Oprah Winfrey, Justin Bieber,
Mariah Carey, Taylor Perry, Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg, Gail King,
Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and Kathy Hilton all turned up
to toast the Kardashian Jenna matriarch. The evening was hosted
by Chris's six children, Kim Courtney, Chloe, Rob Kendall and Kaylee.

(01:29):
The Sussex's present wasn't entirely out of the blue. Megan
has built a friendly rapport with the Kardashians, having sent
Chris bottles of rose from her as Ever lifestyle brand
earlier this year. Chris posted a thank you on Instagram,
while Chloe showed off a wicker basket filled with as
Ever goodies, prompting Meghan to repost with the caption, hey, hey, all,
my goals were a k. Once considered the toast of Tinseltown,

(01:53):
Meghan and Harry have reportedly seen some of their star
connections fade. Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's former butler, told The
Post last year that many in Hollywood would rather be
associated with Prince William and Kate Middleton. The true alist
has realized that Harry and Meghan's brand isn't as popular
or as valuable as the real royal brand, and I
can see people dropping like flies around them still for

(02:16):
one glamorous night under bezos roof the Sussexss were very
much back in the Hollywood spotlight, and by the looks
of it, license to chill Royal biographer Tom Dowet or
The Daily Mail, the party invitation was a big plus
for Meghan, who has been eager to re establish herself
among the celebrity elite. But he noted that Harry looked
fed up being paraded one day at a sports match

(02:38):
and another day at a celeb party, adding that the
Prince is unable to stage the Richter smile which actress
Meghan always displays for the camera. Bauer went further, suggesting
the Duke's unease runs deeper than just Hollywood fatigue. Clearly,
he's now worried what revenge his brother might one day
carry out against himself and his ambitious wife. Meghan was

(03:01):
criticized for not wearing a poppy. The contrast didn't go unnoticed.
Megan didn't even pay respect with her husband and wear
a poppy, one commenter wrote on social media, while another asked,
where is Meghan's Remembrance Day poppy? Why doesn't she wear it?
Supporters quickly jumped to her defense, pointing out that Megan
is American. Americans wear poppies on Memorial Day in May,

(03:22):
not in November, one user noted. Another added, She's American,
doesn't live in England and it would spoil her beautiful top.
Prince Harry made a surprise appearance via video at the
Heroic Hearts Project gala in California on Sunday, delivering a
heartfelt message to veterans while wearing his military medals and
a red poppy. The pre recorded video, filmed outside his

(03:44):
Montecito home, showed the Duke speaking directly to the audience
at the fundraising event, which supports war veterans dealing with
post traumatic stress disorder through psychedelic therapy, coaching, and peer
support programs. Harry said, as a combat veteran and someone
who cares deeply about mental fitness, I've seen how important
genuine veteran led support is. You guys have created a

(04:07):
safe space where courage isn't defined by silence, but by
showing up where strength isn't the absence of struggle, but
the willingness to face it more palace. In just a
moment in the Telegraph Victoria Ward, it points out the
Sussexes appear to have figured out how to be a
half in half out a royal, pointing to Harry's visit

(04:30):
to Canada last week, Ward rights Prince Harry was in
Canada meeting veterans, members of the armed forces community, and
military charities to mark remembrance Sunday. Megan, meanwhile, was back
home in California, busily flogging jam spice kids and candles
with a little help from her most influential celebrity friend,
Oprah Winfrey. You do not have to squint too hard

(04:50):
to see what's going on. As Meghan pursues her dream
of becoming a billionaire, her husband is reverting to a
rather more familiar way of life. All he wants to
do those close to him and sisters to support his
pet causes. He may have been banned from pursuing his
charitable endeavors on behalf of the royal family, but Harry
has seemingly decided that he will plow on regardless. Would

(05:12):
the King ever bring Harry off the subs bench. Not
a chance, and King William even less so. In The Royalist,
Tom Sykes compares Harry's actions to those of his father,
Sykes Rants and not, suggesting for one moment that Harry
going to a party on Saturday night is disrespectful of
war veterans. I am saying that his teen should have
been aware that the resulting pictures in the Daily Mail

(05:34):
would contrast very unfavorably with what his brother, father and
sister in law were doing. Why did they allow Harry,
who wore a poppy, to be photographed as he arrived
at the party. He had a face like thunder that
Megan was smiling broadly. King Charles of the Nation in
Solemn Remembrance on Sunday, presiding over the annual service at
the Cenotaph in London to honor Britain's war dead. Thousands

(05:57):
of veterans, service members and spectators field Whitehall for the ceremony,
which marked one of the most significant moments in the
Royal and national calendar. The seventy six year old Monarch,
trusted in his Field marshal uniform, laid the first wreath
of the memorial before stepping back to lead the traditional
two minute silence. The Prince of Wales followed, saluting after
placing his own wreath as the sound of the last

seven years in the Armed Forces War Royal Air Force
uniform for the occasion. From a balcony of the Foreign
Commonwealth and Development Office, Queen Camilla and the Princess of
Wales looked on in black coats and hats, standing together
alongside other senior royals, including the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester,
the Duke of Kent, and the Duchess of Edinburgh. The

(06:41):
King departed two cheers after the national anthem as London
and the country beyond paused to remember the fallen at
the heart of today's remembrance commemorations. The Princess of Wales
will lead tributes at the National Memorial Arboreta in Staffordshire.
Catherine will attend a service of Remembrance at the Armed
Forces Oriel, where she will lay a wreath and observe

(07:02):
the national two minute silence at eleven a m. The
service will include a newly commissioned poem by a poet
in residence r GI Manila Palais and performances by talent
in the Ranks and Black voices, celebrating the bonds formed
through military service, a theme close to the Princess's heart.
Following the ceremony, Catherine will meet veterans and view the

(07:22):
newly dedicated names etched onto the memorial. She will also
spend time with students from military families whose parents are
currently deployed, and visit letters from the front line words
War and Victory, a special exhibition sharing moving correspondence from
the final months of the Second World War Elsewhere. King
Charles will lead the nation in remembrance from London, where
he will lay a wreath at the Senataph, a design

(07:44):
inspired by those once placed by his grandfather, King George
the sixth and his mother, Queen Elizabeth I. Queen Camilla's
wreath will be laid on her behalf by her equerry,
in a tradition echoing that of the late Queen Mother.
Other members of the royal family will join services around
the country and abroad. The Princess Royal will represent the
Crown in Australia, attending a remembrance service in langua wreath

at the Anzac Memorial in Sydney. Lieutenant Colonel Johnny Thompson,
better known to Royal Watches as Major Eye Candy prior
to his promotion, made a return to the public eye
at Sunday's Remembrance ceremony, instantly reigniting his devoted fan base.
The King's equerry, long admired for his striking looks and
military bearing, was seen carrying King Charles wreath at the

(08:28):
senataph Thompson, now serving with the fifth Battalion of the
Royal Regiment of Scotland, accompanied the King along Whitehall. His
presence not lost on royal fans, who flooded social media
with admiration. I could look at photos of Johnny all
day every day. That's a man, wrote one user on
x Another added, is that the sexy Scotsman, to which
some replied, yep, it's Johnny Thompson, the Scottish God. Lieutenant

(08:52):
Colonel Eye Candy was also spotted at the Festival of
Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall the previous evening, standing
discreetly near the monarch. Once one of the most recognizable
members of the royal entourage, Thompson reportedly shifted to a
less public facing role last year after growing uncomfortable with
the attention his popularity attracted, but his reappearance uniform, pressed metals,

(09:14):
gleaming expression stoic was warmly received by royal watchers. As
one fan put it, Johnny back in uniform, where he
belongs and doing what comes naturally. Have seen a lot
of him lately, and long may it continue. There and
there you have it. If you'd like to email us,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
