Nel secondo dopoguerra l’Isolotto divenne simbolo di un’urbanizzazione non intensiva che oggi chiameremmo rigenerazione urbana. La biblioteca di quartiere fu uno dei punti cardine della rinascita del rione, ma in pochi - nel quartiere e in città - ricordano che venne costruita sulle ceneri di un incendio: quello del lazzaretto della febbre spagnola del 1918.
La storia della febbre spagnola e del lazzaretto di Firenze è stata al centro di una serie di incontri e laboratori curati dall’Associazione Archivio Movimento di Quartiere che hanno visto dialogare gli studenti del liceo Rodolico di Firenze insieme a Gabriella Bellucci e Franco Quercioli.
