È l’alba del 21 aprile 1945. A Bologna il cielo è ancora grigio, ma nell’aria si sente qualcosa. Un sussurro di libertà, un’attesa che dura da anni. Tra le vie ancora piene di macerie, il sergente maggiore Lorenzo Lodi dell’87° reggimento fanteria del Gruppo di combattimento Friuli cammina con passo deciso insieme ai suoi commilitoni. È stanco, coperto di polvere, ma ha negli occhi la luce di chi sa che qualcosa sta per cambiare per sempre.
