Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's still.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Welcome.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Everybody, Welcome to this week's edition is Still Real Does
Show Episode number seven seventy two for November twenty eight,
twenty twenty four. This is your aw full gear recap
and we Survivor Series, Wargames Weekly and Predictions Edition Up
ass our team you.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
I am one alf of the show. I am Jeff Pack,
joined every single week by my co host, the one
only doctor Trey Franklin. Doctor Trey. Happy Thanksgiving, my friend
Happy Thanksgiving.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
This is got what are twelve Thanksgiving together? So we're
at this point. We are family. So I I'm always
as always thankful for you than for everybody. But I'm
excited because this is my favorite, one of my favorite,
not favorite, but top two, top three holidays because just
the gluttonous nature of humanity now kind of caters to this.

(01:14):
And I've already checked with the family to make sure
that it's not just turkey. We got to, like, I
have to have ham on Thanksgiving, So grandma and mother
in law are making sure that there is a ham
in the oven for me while everybody else engulfs the turkey.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
So it's funny, and we've probably had this discussion every
year we talk about this show and talk about the
holiday on this show. I feel like it switches at
some point, maybe like in my early twenties for me,
and I am still to this day a big Christmas guy.
Literally behind me as I record the show. We put
our Christmas tree up this week. But at some point,

(01:54):
as you get older, you switch from Christmas to Thanksgiving,
or at least I did. Were you the same way
because Thanksgiving? Like I'm super hyped for Thanksgiving right now
because I love Thursday. I love the food. We typically
play a football game, not sure if we're going to
be able to do that yet because of the weather
forecast it's going to be hitting us in the area.

(02:16):
And then I just watch football all day. My packers
are playing on Sunday or Thursday night, which I'm excited about.
But this at some point, Doctor Trey, unless you always
were a Thanksgiving guy, I feel like for most people,
like the older you get, this becomes the holiday.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
For most of us, it shifts back and forth, especially when.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
You have kids. Because good point.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Like when I was younger, when I was you know,
a kid, and even to my early teens, I love Christmas.
And then you know, once you get a certain age,
your parents have no idea what to get you anymore.
It kind of loses that luster a little bit, so
you kind of drift over to Thanksgiving because as a teenager,
dear God, I can just eat a ton of food
and not really gain any weight from it. And it

(03:02):
kind of stayed that way until the kids came along,
and then you kind of get that joy of Christmas
back with the kids. But like right now, like it's
funny as you bring that up, Like my nephew looked
at his grandma yesterday and goes, Grandma, I don't like
Thanksgiving because it's all about adults eating and talking and

(03:23):
that's it. And I was like, no, that's literally what
Thanksgiving is. Just hang out with some people that you
that you moderately to actually like tell stories, eat a
bunch of food, and hopefully pass out at home and
not at somebody else's house, which actually does harken back
to your teenage years.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yes, very very true. This is the holiday that has
it's like you have a day for the holiday itself
and then you have a day to recover and just
it's an immediate four day weekend. Every other holiday unless
it falls like the day before a weekend. On a weekend, you,
I think Christmas is a Wednesday this year, So Christmas

(04:04):
is on a Wednesday, then I think, I think Thursday.
I mean, I'm working, it's it's a slow day. But
it's like you only get one day in the middle
of the week. Like it's always that the super Bowl debate.
They've always said where on super Bowl Sunday should be
a national holiday and the day after the super Bowl

(04:26):
should be a day off for most people. So I
guess it's like you got the main event and then
you got a day to recover. It's I don't think
that there is a better holiday, and I agree with you.
It probably will change for me when like my son
gets older, But right now, I'm I'm still I'm still

(04:46):
all about Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
My issue is with the business I'm in and being
involved in retail.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I don't get the Friday off because of.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Black Friday boom I have I have folks Now, Luckily,
you don't have to be in store when the store
is open, because look, nobody's gonna want to stop and
talk to us about gutters first thing in the morning.
We got to wait till that ten o'clock eleven o'clock.
We got wait for the people that have already hit
like three or four stores and they're just like, oh, yeah,

(05:14):
we gotta get.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Some stuff to fix some stuff at the house.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Yeah, they got the Furbie the Cabbage Patch kid in
their hand and they come to you.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Yeah, they've already done that stuff. So for us, it's
kind of like I still gotta be out there. Luckily
right now, like you and I were talking about here,
I'm having to rebuild the division, so I only have
a couple of people that are gonna be on the
field on that day. So I just have to be
the good manager and make sure they know I am
out there too and not sitting at home relaxing.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
But you know, for for most folks, like you know.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
My uh, the guy who took over for me in
my old district, he's taken a four day I mean,
we built that team up, he's taking the whole four
days off. He's taken off from Wednesday until Sunday, well one, two, three, four,
five days off, So he's going away for the entire
time and going out of town. I'm like, yeah, yeah,
if the other thing is I don't really have anywhere
else to go. I could go to North Carolina, but

(06:04):
really for me is like this is.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Kind of my home.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
But look, I gotta get back to work and get
on the grind and kind of rebuild this thing. But
for those folks to get to take the four days,
the five days, the six days, whatever it is. Man,
God bless you, and good luck dealing with airports and travel.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Right now, so you mentioned the ham before you've already
asked your mother in law to make a ham. Is
there any other like food traditions or just overall traditions
on Thanksgiving that that you it's a must have to
either eat or do on Thanksgiving each year.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
My three favorite dishes and it's ham.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
I need stuffing, slash dressing, whatever you want to call it,
depending on what part of the country you're in. And
I love devil diggs so and if I have to
make the devil eggs out, that's fine because I'll make
a bunch for everybody who's coming to the thing, and
then I'll make another plate just to keep it home.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
But those are my three goes go tos.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
It's funny that back when I was traveling and I
would go to the Northeast, my friend Jordan. I would
sometimes be stuck in Massachusetts Rhode Island on Thanksgiving and
he would always invite me over to his family's house
and his mother made this like sausage onion stuffing and

(07:20):
it was the best thing I was having, and I
used to this day. I'll text him like, I know
your mom's still alive, So I'm not going to ask
for the family recipe yet, but just just reminder I
need that recipe at some point to make it down here.
I don't know if it's their family is Ukrainian, I believe,
so I don't know if it's something that came over

(07:41):
from from that part of the world. But oh my god,
like I don't know if it maybe just the way
she made it, don't. I mean, it's just crazy. It's
just how crazy, how good it was. That was the
first time.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Okay, I'm sorry, it's crazy good. I'm mean.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
By the way, this is another great thing about having
a five year old. If you say certain words, they
will tell you not to say those certain words anymore.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Fair enough, Hey, listen, somebody, it's the holdest accountable right yeah.
So yeah, so yep, Thanksgiving this Thursday, we're obviously releasing
the show a little bit early. We're hoping it will
be dropped by Wednesday. At this point, we're recording earlier
this week to settle up and joy some time with
friends and family and get away for a little bit

(08:25):
recap what's been going on the world professional rest in
the last couple of days. Look forward to this Saturday,
Survivor Series war Games. There's some other stuff that we'll
talk about here as well as part of our regular
Thanksgiving special that we do each and every year. This
is the fourteenth year we've been doing Thanksgiving Special twelve
with Doctor Trey. Let's get into it. Doctor Trey AW
full gear recap review this Saturday from this past Saturday

(08:46):
from the Potential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The first
pre show match was and A j defeating Diana Parrazzo.
We did not predict this one. Just a couple of
notes from this one. And A Jay's really came into
our own as an entering worker, and Dianna's AW run
has been surprisingly disappointing. Your thoughts on this one, Doctor.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Trey sounds just about like every other person they brought
it from outside the company that their run has been
slightly disappointing. I like, I like Anna j I like
how far she's come, But for one, she should have
never won. This match just matches in Deanna Pross's backyard,
So let Deanna win by some screwjob. Don't like you're
having the person the new babyface from Georgia come in

(09:28):
and when I get it, she just lost to Mariah
May so you're trying to build her back up. But
Deanna's the better wrestler right now, so it's okay to
let the better wrestler win the match in her backyard
on a pay per view when she has another person
at ringside backing Euroupe, which, by the way, that spot

(09:48):
where Ti of speared aa Jay and the referee saw
it and they're like they had to cover up by
saying it's the referees discretion to disqualify people. That that
was such a out. Uh but yeah, just it was.
It was an okay match, but it just it doesn't
make sense in the grand scheme of things.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
There's gonna be I feel like a lot of that
when it comes to this edition of aw Full Gear.
Next match year was Buddy Matthews defeating Dante Martin Commander
and the Beast Mortals in a fatal four way match.
We did not predict this one. This is a fast paced,
smooth and fun four way match that made a case
of being on the main card in my opinion, Doctor
Trey and I kind of if you look back at it,

(10:31):
this entire card, I feel like this was one of
at least the top five matches from full gear.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Yeah, this was just I mean, this was It was
just a fun match.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
And sometimes these little four ways when there's no real rivalry,
there's no real stories, Like all right, I just got
to watch this for the action. It had all the
action you needed, and you had, you know, contrasting styles there.
You had two high flyers. You had to you know,
Buddy Murphy's just like I think they said it a
few times on the commentary team of the best pure
athletes in aw and then Mortos in himself is an anomaly.

(11:06):
By the way, when you ddt a guy, I don't
think we heard this. He took the DDT on his horns.
I don't think I've ever heard that phrase mentioned before.
But yeah, it was a really really fun match and
probably should have been on the main show. But at
least I'll tell them this much. At least, the matches
on the main show all had a little bit a
story leading into it for the most part, this one didn't,

(11:27):
so I kind of get why it was on the
pre show.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Next match here is Big boom Aj defe thing q
T Marshall. We both had Big boom Aj game and
victory here. I never thought I would see the day
where AW would have this type of match, let alone
on a pre show of a pay per view, as
it doesn't really fit the vision I think most restling
fans have Slash had for the AW product, where it's
a TikTok star getting ample time in the ring. Granted

(11:53):
he had professional wrestling background to get a little publicity
for all Lee wrestling. With that said, the crowd seemed
into it and it was a fun presentation. I truly
cannot hate on it. And then days later come to
find out Big boom Aj broke his foot earlier in
the day. I don't know what he was doing, maybe
running the ropes, and then still did the match. He

(12:14):
didn't want to dissid discipline anybody. All the reports back
on these guys have been very, very positive. I do
know them from being a fan of Barstool Sports. I
know doctor Trey was not accustomed to the Costco Guy universe,
whatever you want to call it, Doctor Trey, your thoughts
on this one is big Boom AJ against the victory.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
I didn't hate it.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
I like, to me, I was sitting there going I
had no idea who these people were.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
I didn't know what a rizzler was. I didn't know
what a big Justice was. I didn't know what a
big Boom AJ was.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
QT Marshall had the worst spray tand I have seen
since Donald Trump comes out of Florida, like nothing about it,
like appearance wise, I'm like, this is going to be
got off. And then the crowd when AJ came out,
that crowd pop was huge and I was just like
kind of blown away, And I'm like, if the crowd's
popping like this for these guys and you're trying to

(13:14):
build an audience for AW, why's on the pre show.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
It should be on the main show.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
If these guys have millions and millions of followers on TikTok,
put them on the main show, get people to buy
the pay per view. And then the match itself was good.
It was some good storytelling. These guys have a history.
I could have done with less cuts to the Rizzler
doing the same face over and over again.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Yeah, what what did you think of the wristler face?
Is it something you forget you can do?

Speaker 1 (13:44):
I mean I can touch my beard. I mean that's
what I do that all the time.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Like, but I just I'm just not a cute That kid,
which I will say, is the Wrizzler actually the son
of I know Justice is the son of AJ is
the Rizzler.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
The son of AJ is the Rizal midget. I don't
know the thing.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
He is not the son of AJ, nor is he?

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Uh they stole a kid.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
I don't know. I don't know the full background. I
believe he's like seven years old, like legitimately seven years old.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Like, how do you find a kid in Costco who's
seven to put on your TikTok to?

Speaker 1 (14:17):
I mean that's usually how you end up in jail
most likely.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
I don't know the background. Have everybody, how everybody met?
I would assume that in like two years, when Big Justice,
who is probably like in his early teens, develops a
drug habit and ends up in like celebrity rehab on
VH one, maybe we hear about all this because they
seem to be very level headed and grounded. But it

(14:41):
just like anything, like at some point something happens, right
like you and.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
I talked about it.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
It's the Andy Milanakas syndrome coming into play here.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
I guess who was older than he looked on television.
He had he had a medical condition.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
But correct me if I'm wrong, if if, if you would,
I are running a promotion and we get a I'm
air quoting here, you can't.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
See it a celebrity.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Yeah, yeah, that has millions of followers and the crowd
gets a reaction like that because they're in the guys's backyard.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Why are you not putting that on the main show?

Speaker 2 (15:16):
I understand. I don't think they want to. I mean typically,
I would have thought wrestling fans would have shot on
this typically. And then they had taped Rampage after Dynamite
last week in Albany and the videos I saw that
they did that way in on Rampage they got booed
when they came out, and in New Jersey it was

(15:39):
the complete opposite. I mean, they got a heroes welcome,
they got some of the biggest pops of the night,
and it shocked me. I would have thought the aw
audience would have crapped all over this.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
I literally I think I was kind of I was
kind of keeping track, like, once I heard that pop
for those guys.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
You thought Steve Austin was coming out, Well, I.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Was like, let me just see the rest of the show.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Is that an lod pop for Big boom Age.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
I was kind of like, I just want to see
if anybody else got a louder pop than that. And
I think they had the second or third Lattice pop
on their entrance, and then in the way I think
maybe Garcia's popp might it jumped up over theirs when
Garcia won later on, but just off initial entrance, I
was like, Okay, these guys are are already kind of
over with the crowd.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
So it was just I didn't hate the match. I mean,
it's nice when you get a guy. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
Does he look like every single overweight indie guy I've
met out there?

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Oh, this is a mid to late two thousand's Italian
guido from New Jersey being like put into a wrestling
ring like he And again, all things considered, from everything
I'm reading and everything that i'm hearing, and you know
how the wrestling world is. These guys were very humble,
They were very nice, cordial, and everybody liked them. And

(16:56):
I think it does come off the screen and that
it is an infectious personality. They seem genuine.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
That's one of the things that you and I talk about,
we've been talking about for fourteen years, is that when
guys are having fun, we feel it and kind of response.
And those guys were having fun. I mean, that was
Aja's dream right there. I mean, obviously being an independent
wrestler back in the early two thousands, never getting the
big break.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Dude, he did the Brett Hart walk down slapping everybody's hands.
An ex caliber was like, this is quite the introduction.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Here he went behind the announced table.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
He was soaking it off. You could see it in
his eyes legitimately.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
Like he was appreciative for the environment he was in,
like he knew if he never gets another job, this.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Is his thing.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
And by the way, that song does get kind of catchy.
Oh yeah, back this after a while, like I hated
it when you play for me last week, And then
by the five minute mark of their entrance, I was like, Okay,
too bad.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
It's kind of catchy. At least it's a good wrestling
theme as well.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Oh it's crazy. My hope is is that you after
the show, you sit young Sammy Franklin down and you
introduce him to the Costco metaverse.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
I actually think I might because he's a big There's
a lot of other shows out there on between YouTube
and stuff like that he'll watch that have way worse
theme songs and more annoying people than that, So I
will definitely introduce them to this.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
I can't. We have spent more time talking about this
match than I would ever think, but it's it was
a very noteworthy item, and yeah, check the shit out
of me. Main car here, Doctor Trey, let's get into
a private party defeat the outrunners Kings of the Black
Throne and the Acclaim in a four way tag team
match to retain the aw World Tag Team Championship. We
both had private party in this one. My notes from

(18:49):
this I thought it was a sloppy match. I had
questionable spots in it, like the Acclaim pinning one another
and commentary not leading up to the fact that they
were both the legal men prior to that. I don't
remember anybody on commentary saying that Bowen's and Caster are
illegal right now. By the way, for those wrestling historians
out there, that is an old spot from the New
Age Outlaws back in the day, like on an old

(19:11):
episode of Raw, like ninety seven ninety eight, And it
would have been nice if it was mentioned like, oh,
this is a playbook out of Billy Gunn or out
of the page out of Billy Gunn's playbook, but they
didn't even do that either. It was not a match
that accomplished spotlighting this new era of tag team wrestling
aw and that was disappointing to see. The biggest takeaway
was the issues between the acclaimed in this match. Max

(19:32):
Caster is a guy that is going to be a
very good natural heel, and it certainly seems like he's
laying into that right now, and I thought that was
the biggest story from the entire match. Your thoughts on
this one, Doctor Trey, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
I figured out by watching this show that outside of
the Outrunners, if you have a shitty mustache, that means
you're a heel, because remember Roderick had one, and then
for this match he shaved his off later on, so
didn't he didn't have it?

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Later on.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
Sometimes it's like, why are the tag belts not on
the Kings of the Black Throne, Like they're super everybody.
The fans love Brody King, they love Malachi Black.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Look.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
I like Private Party. They are deserving. They've been there
since day one. They deserve it. But the fact that
Kings of the Black Throat have not had the tag
belts yet it baffles me. And it's always weird to
me at the AW that a team gets hot and
then they don't make the move for the tag belts,
and then when the team cools off, that's when they
give them the tag belts.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
We'll look at the Outrunners right now.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying, Like the Outrunner is the
most over tag team in AAW. They're not getting the belts.
Private Party that which was super over five years ago,
four years ago and then cooled off, and then it
took this last little storyline with Moxley and the Bucks
to get him back up there. You know, it's like
they they should pull the trigger on Private Party four
years ago.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
It's just they they're.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
They're timing on, you know, putting guys over is weird,
and then the acclaimed it is weird when you have
a tag team like Private Party, which is kind of
the Street Profits, then you have the Acclaimed, which is
kind of the New Day, and both those tag teams
are having problems at the same time.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
It's just kind of weird that.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
They'll say, oh ww copies AW and AW copies WWE,
and then you see it play out on your TV.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
It is kind of funny to actually watch it in
real life.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Next Mett year is MJF defeating roder Strong both at
MGF and this one. I can't seem to put my
finger on the direction of this MJF Adam Cole, roder Strong,
Kyle o' riley's stuff yet and if I like it
or if I'm confused by it. The fans seem to
be more into MGF wrestling again rather than supporting roder Strong,
which makes sense because why should I all of a

(21:38):
sudden be supporting the Undisputed Kingdom after what they initially
did to MGF at the Closer World's End last year.
It was nice to see MGF back in the ring
after Strong twenty twenty twenty three, and I wonder if
he'll be back as a regular contributor on AW television
each week. That's sure your thoughts on this one.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
Yeah, I hated the booking eating in this matchup because
it was two months ago. You know, the unspeaker Kingdom
was trying to take out Taz, I mean trying to
take out Hook and they had that rivalry.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
And then they hugged him, remember.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
And then it was like a handshake and hug it.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
And I remember on the show going I hate that
stuff because that now because you show the respect, now
we have to like you like I don't get it.
And then I don't know. I love MGF being back
in the ring. I thought the promo he put out,
I think it was it was a dynamite on rampay
or on collision with the Roddy's mom. Anyway, he's in
the parking lot sitting on the hood of a of

(22:34):
a transamin from a trailer. I camera what it was.
I thought that was not one of his better promos.
So I really don't know if I like this because
we're trying to get to Adam calling MJF again, but
it just feels so disjointed right now and kind of
out of place. I'm just I'm happy to see all
of these guys in the ring because they're all my favorites.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
But right now it just kind of feels like I
have a puzzle.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
I'm looking at and none of the piece is fit.

Speaker 1 (23:02):
To make the picture to come into site.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Yeah, I don't know what to make of it yet.
It's it's all very, very strange. The MGF booking in
twenty twenty four has been confusing in all honesty. Next
match here is Mercedes Monet defeating Chris Statlander to retain
the AWTBS Championship. We both had Mercedes Monee in this one.
I thought this was a great match, Doctor Trey. Some

(23:25):
of the near falls were a bit much, but it
got the crowd involved and helped the match reach its
climax to reach the end there. I think Mercedes being
the AWTBS Champion Champion has been a detriment to the
aw Women's World Championship, and I think this could have
been a good spot to drop the title to the
Statlander some Mercedes and get involved in the world Tider
picture at some point. I really really enjoyed this match,

(23:46):
Doctor Trey. I know you're a Mercedes not the biggest
Mercedes fan in the world, and I trashed her on
last week's show, but you got to give credit where
credit is due, and Monette and stat Lander brought it
on Saturday night.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
You don't hear me say this very often, but I
love this match. This was a great match and they
told stories, they played into injuries they like. Not only
were the workers on point, but commentary was really good
in this match too, that some of the near falls
were great. It was also and maybe listen, I'm an

(24:19):
old guy. Some people knocking for this. It was a
WWE tempo match. They'd hit big moves, they sold it.
It gave it time to digest before they went to
the next thing like it was.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
The pacing was really good.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
So for somebody who has criticized the entire Mercedes Monet
run in aw and I've been saying since she got
the title, like this, it makes the Women's world title
feel inferior because everybody she's fighting is a bigger star
than what's in the world title picture. Like, I don't know,
and we will probably cover I don't know half the

(24:53):
people that are challenging Mariah May, but I know everybody
that's challenging Mercedes Mone So it does kind of feel
like it's convoluting the tie the women's picture, but that aside,
this was a fantastic match, So I give those girls
a ton of credits for pulling together something that maybe
didn't have a great storyline and didn't have a lot
of great bill to it as far as the technicalities

(25:15):
and stuff, but they pulled it off at this match.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Next match is j White defeating Hagman Adam Page. We
both had Adam Paige and this one the finish was
really good. After a match that I felt dragged down
a little bit, I really enjoyed their Wrestl Dream matches
was my match of the night last month. This seemed
to focus on Hangman Page really dominating Jay White and
focusing on White's injured ankle, only to be caught by
the Blade Runner for the one two three. The loss
makes sense for Hangman's character since he's been off his

(25:40):
hinges for most twenty twenty four, and this helps him
continue to spiral. Moving along in aw Dot to tray
your thoughts on this one, as Jy got the victory.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Yeah, I like the match, not as much as Wressel Dream,
but I liked it. I love that they both sold
leg leg injuries, which you don't very see very often.
Is like it's two one legged man in an ass
kicking contest. So it's the but the finish that boot
caught it into the blade Runner was really cleverly done.
I liked it because, you know, with the with the
knee injury, he can't really go for the buck shot,

(26:11):
so he's having to used dead eye and it you know,
three dead eyes can't put away Jay White, but one
blade Runner can put away Hangman Page, So I didn't.
You know, it wasn't as good as Wrestle Dream, but
it was still a pretty solid match. I didn't think
it drugged too much because of they were once again
selling injury. They were actually selling in this match, which
I'll criticize a match later on for not doing it.

(26:32):
But overall I liked it. I just didn't like the
postmatch stuff. I know, Hangman's unhinged, but are you are
you by hitting Jay White momentarily and then Chris ra
Daniel's breaking it up and then hitting Christopher Daniels. Are
we selling this for match seven in their series or
they're going their separate ways?

Speaker 1 (26:50):
I was.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
I was kind of confused by the postmatch stuff, but
overall like the match itself I thought was was pretty good,
but not as good as wrestled Dream.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
And then of course we got all this stuff that
closed out the show in regards to hanging man out
a page and j White, which we will get too
later on here. Next match is Kyle Fletcher defeating will Ospray.
We both had will Ospray in this one. The result
was surprising, the match was great. The sky is officially
the limit for Kyle Fletcher after a huge win over
will Ospray on pay per view. Clearly AW sees a

(27:21):
lot of promise in Fletcher, and rightfully so. This felt
like a case where Osprey wanted to be the guy
to help elevate Fletcher to the next level. I think
AW should really hype up that Fletcher is the next
guy in the lineage of Don Kallis managing wrestlers from
Kenny Omega to will Ospray and now Kyle Fletcher. On
the Will Osprey side of things, I'm disappointing this result
as I want to see Osprey vie for the AW

(27:42):
World Championship, but that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon,
at least in the short term. The only thing I
didn't like was the jumping pile driver onto steel step
spot because that should have ended the match with Osprey
being carried out rather than continuing to wrestle. Either don't
do that spot during the match, and wait until after
the match is over to really capitalize the things and

(28:03):
execute that spot and have Osprey get taken out via ambulance,
or don't do that spot at all, because it made
no sense to me, douch Trey. Osprey should not have
been walking after the tombstone pile driver jumping tombstone pile
driver onto the steel steps on the outside. Your thoughts
on this one is Kyle Fletcher defeats Will Ospray.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
So I liked this match if it was a video
game good.

Speaker 4 (28:29):
There was just too much stuff and I don't know
none of because you got me like everybody's ready to
talk about the tombstone spot on the stairs. Ospray hit
a tombstone on the floor to Kyle Fletcher, and Kyle
Fletcher is not selling any kind of neck injury the
entire match after that, So I hated that because that's

(28:51):
just what restling is supposed to be. I didn't mind
the jumping tombstone onto the steps.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
If you go for the fit right after it.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
The fact that the finish came four or five minutes
after that spot didn't make sense. I'm also a little
confused about Kyle Fletcher getting a clean, decisive victory over
will Ospray, Like there was no chack henery, there was
no tricks, there was no Don Challis involvement, there's no screwdriver,
there's no Don Kallis family, nothing like that. It's Kyle

(29:22):
Fletcher beating Will Ospray straight up.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
So what do you do with Ospray now?

Speaker 4 (29:27):
Like you have to book Kyle Fletcher like he's the
second coming, you know, of the greatest wrestler of all
time in order to re elevate Ospray.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
So I'm kind of confused by that.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
I don't mind Fletcher getting the win, is just so
clean and so decisive. And then postmatch, you know, once again,
like you said, he's selling this traumatic neck injury from
not only the Tombstone but the top brainbuster, and the
docs aren't in the ring checking his neck to make
sure you can move them. Like if you got a

(29:58):
neck injury, Mark Davis, you're not supposed to pick up
your buddy and try to carry him out. So I mean,
that's literally what we've learned from wrestling commentary for the
last twenty years is you can't move the neck.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
You got to stabilize it. You got put the.

Speaker 4 (30:12):
Back borderneath there, otherwise you could paralyze your friends. So
maybe Mark Davis is kind of an asshole and he
does have the crappy mustache.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Who knows.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Yeah, it was just that was a very disappointing spot,
and I know a lot of people were kind of trash,
and especially after what w WE did recently where Kevin
Owens used a ban move the pile driver on Randy Orton.
So I don't know if it overshadowed the match per se,
but it was definitely a big talking point. Nonetheless, Kyle

(30:40):
Fletcher gets a massive, massive victory over will Ospray and
like you, Doctor Trey, I want to see will Ospray
Viy for the AW World Championship and I don't understand
the delay right now. Again, this goes back to your
point about the tag team wrestlers. It just feels like
w or AW has a wasted opportunity here having will
ost Bran. The roster people were behind them and they

(31:01):
did not put the championship on them, which is something
that they typically did. They would usually immediately strap the
rocket ship to somebody if there's a lot of buzz,
and they got away for that for some reason. Next segment,
here was Maria May and Mina Sherkaga having a champagne
toast for Mariah. Turned on Mina, but Mina walked away,
leaving Mariah. Lane got try any thoughts on that segment

(31:22):
for Mena and Mariah.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
Mina is really pretty, but this was just a god
awful segment.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
Like, it was so bad.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
I mean, it was, Jeff, I've never used this in
the history of doing this show.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
It was porno acting bad. That's how bad it was.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
I mean, I get it Mina doesn't speak the language
very well, but like, nothing about that said these are
top stars and these are the two women you now
have going for your women's heavyweight championship, like or women's title.
It it was just bad across the board. The only
thing that I thought was kind of cool was Mina

(32:03):
licking Mariah, like after the table spot.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
And the blood on there.

Speaker 4 (32:08):
Outside of that, everything else was just atrocious.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Yeah, it was not a good segment at all, not
at all. Next match, here is Daniy Garcia defeating Jack
Perry to win the AWT and T Championship. With both
at Jack Perry and this one, Daniel Garcia winning a
single title and aw is longer for due. I've been
very happy for him. This match had a really good build,
despite me not being the biggest fan of the character
Jack Perry's portraying on television. My only issue here was

(32:34):
they really didn't let Dany Garcia celebrate the title victory
like I thought he should have doctory point out early
in the show, he got one of the biggest pops
of the night. Maybe they were short on time and
need to get through the rest of the card. It
felt like a big celebration should have been taking place,
especially with his mom, and that was a miss moment.
I felt like Daniel Garcia is the new AWT and

(32:55):
T Champion. Doctor Trey.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
They were more piled ves on this show than a
Jerry Lawler Memphis event. Like there was like two pile
drivers in this match. We had all the tombstones in
the other matches. I're like, dear guys, like we got
one tombstone in ten years or we got one pile
driver in WWE in like fifteen years and eight was like,
oh my beer, we'll do like five tonight.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
So it's just crazy.

Speaker 4 (33:20):
But like the postmatch stuff and I'm getting little Jack
Perry stuff here, and just say the postmatch stuff was
weird to because it's like he won the belt and
then I don't know if they told him, hey, we're
short on time, so keep your celebrated short or if
he just did that, because it looked like the ref
kept trying to get him to turn around on the
ramp and he just didn't want to do it. He
just got the belt, did the little stand on the

(33:41):
on the security railing, and then just like left and nothing.
Jack Perry's entrance is fantastic for a guy who doesn't
look like a malnourished raven like, it's just he comes
out like he's Kane and he looks like mini Kane.
It's just I just I don't know. I don't get

(34:04):
the goat head is too big for his body. He
looks like a bobblehead coming down the ramp. And he's
got all this cool music, the cool graphics, the cool fire,
and I'm just like, you're expecting a huge star and
you get a guy who looks like he should be
on the playground, but beating up kids for lunch money.
Like he's just not a big enough guy for that entrance,

(34:28):
Like the Hollywood Jack was a much better fit for
him than this gimmick. And it's just it's so it's
just so bad. It's distracting at times. And you know,
everybody told me what a great restler was. I watched
this match and Garcia's wrestling circles around him in this match,
and I'm like, I don't get it.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
Does does heat?

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Did he get leverage on Tony Kahan to get back
in the good graces ors? I don't know what it is,
but uh, Jack Perry is now my new Sosher Banks.
That's just how I look at it right now.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Yeah, if they did the NEPO baby like rich kid
Jack Perry like that, would people be eating that help
as a heel not. I don't like this malnourished raven
as you said, just.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Just I mean, and he's even doing the arms out thing,
like I guess.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
I've always been against it. I mean, I mentioned it
a couple months ago. I think we were covering all
out and I'm like this this character just does not
fit him. I don't believe it at all. No.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
I mean, you could be the rich kid and play
like a Menendez brother gimmick and you know, tap into
your Hollywood like your upbringing. But because of that, now
you're being black ball and that. I think you could
combine the two and get a good character out of it.
But this whole like twisted metal type gimmick he's doing

(35:46):
with the bus and the mask and everything else, I'm like,
oh my god, Samoa Joe sign off on this.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
I don't I don't get it at all.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
And I know he's the scapegoat for cmpunk like leaving
Awn b suspend it, all that shit, But he's not.
He's not a scapegoat like the kid is. Would he
be in this position if his name wasn't last name
wasn't Perry.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
Yeah, I mean he would have, because I mean he
got over on the indies with people only kind of
knowing that he was the son of Luke Perry because
he didn't really advertise it was.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
I blame JR.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
For all the Jack Perry stuff because JR hyped it
up because JR knows, Hey, we can get this kid
over by his lineage, because hell he did in WWE
for years and just give him a decent gimmick and
then like, just right now, this gimmick doesn't It's almost
as bad as Chavo Guer being Kerwin White.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Yeah, I would almost say it's as bad as Nicholas
and Matthew Jackson's. Well, I'm not a big fan of
that Young Bucks gimmick. As the EVPs, it's almost like
they've they've gone too far up to eleven and cranked
it up there. But this, this, to me, the Jack
Perry character is the out of all the professional wrestling

(36:58):
This one does not fit person at all.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
This is the ultimate indie gimmick because on the indies,
little guys always want to act like they're big, tough guys,
and the big guys want to do lucha moves. This
is like, I remember when I first broke into the business,
I saw a guy, Jack Perry size telling me his
finisher was an attitude adjustment at an F five, and
I was like, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
And I lived at the time. I live in Alabama,

(37:23):
so I've heard a lot of dumb stuff. But this
is what indie guys do. They try to act like
there's somebody completely different from what the fans see them as,
and it's like, yeah, is Jack Perry and ahole and
give be escapegoat for stuff?

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Absolutely, but he is not like was the what was
the bludgeon brother?

Speaker 4 (37:42):
He's not a bludgeon brother for crying out out stop it.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
It's just just bad.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Next mon years, can I also hit Takashka defeating Ricochet
to retain the AW International Championship. We did not predict
this one, as was announced after we recorded last week's show.
A lot of near falls in this one. I like
seeming takash could get some wins under his belt and
continue to grow as a star in AW, but I
also don't like seeing it at the expense of Ricochet,
who has had an underwhelming start in AW thus far.

(38:10):
Has anything really changed for Ricochet since leaving w WE
other than a really bad catchphrase like Ricochet is out
of this world? Doctor Trey, what say you?

Speaker 1 (38:21):
That's so bad?

Speaker 2 (38:22):
It's terrible.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
It's so bad. I mean your name's by the way.

Speaker 4 (38:27):
I was listening to a couple of podcasts in the
last couple weeks, and I love when people call it
it was otis I heard Otis on the Chris Van
Ballet Show and he kept calling Ricochet Ricky.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Yeah, he loves it. He calls him pretty Ricky.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
Pretty Ricky. I love it, And that was always the joke.
Have you ever went irish?

Speaker 4 (38:41):
He used to be rick Okay, But to me, it's
one of the things like you have a pay per
view and your two biggest signings of two or your
three biggest signings in twenty twenty five probably are Osprey,
Gocatta and Ricochet once not on the show and touring losses,
and you really haven't elevated anybody any higher than they

(39:04):
were when they came into the company.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
Like we literally say, this is a.

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Chance for Ricochet to get a big breakout, aw to
show the world we can do. He's showing the world
exactly what he did in WWE for six years, seven years,
Like nothing's changed, And yeah, you're probably getting a better
payday and you're getting more time off than you were previously,
but really, at the end of the day, you're not
any higher on the food chain. But I love Takeshka
and I love that they're trying to create some of

(39:29):
their own stars. But at the same time, like you
got fifteen titles on your show, and right now you
don't have.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
Ospreaders to have a title.

Speaker 4 (39:37):
Ricochet doesn't have the title, like the Malachi Black and
Brodie King don't have Like there's a lot of guys
that should be champions in this company who are suffering
for the sake of trying to build up guys like
Jack Perry.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
Yeah, it's not been a good run so far for
Rickochet in AW.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
That's good. I like the match, by the way, I
just want to say, ID enjoy the match. I love Takeshka,
I love don Kallis. I like Ricochet a lot. This
is a really fun match. It's just the booking of
some of these guys makes zero sense.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
Yeah, that's the thing. It's just I don't know. Ricochet
comes over to AW and it's like nothing's changed other
than a shitty catchphrase, Like it's like, how's that happen? Meanwhile,
other people, like the next match here are booked extremely well,
which is Bobby Lashley defeating Swerve Strickland, and we both
had Bobby Lashley this one. I think letting Bobby Lashley
MVP and Shelton Bedmin walk from w and not reforming

(40:31):
the hert business slash syndicate at some point maybe one
of Triple H's biggest mistakes after taking over Creative. So far,
Lashley is super over with the fans despite being a heel,
and I hope his career continues to send an AW.
I'm a fan of big Bobby defeating the top established
awstr likes swerve of Strickland in your AW pay per
view debut is the way you introduce a big name
into your promotion, Doctor stre We just talked about Ricochet

(40:54):
and his underwhelming start. Bobby Lashley starting out of the
gate with a huge victory over one of the biggest
names aw in s Strickland. Your thoughts on.

Speaker 4 (41:02):
This one, Yeah, and you know, like this was a
really good match. I really enjoyed it. It's both these
guys are favorites of mine. It is good, Like I
I wish there was The short builds are fine, but
like I'm really trying to establish Bobby Lashley. I want

(41:25):
some I want some swerve hangman animosity leading into this
first match. I want to make it feel like a
big fight. And it felt like a good fight. It
just didn't feel like it didn't feel like a main
event caliber.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
Match, which is what this should be.

Speaker 4 (41:39):
So that was on this point, but the match itself
was good, and you're right, I mean, right now, could
you imagine Hurt Business going up against the Wyat six
once they're done with you know, Final Testament, and and
the fact that Bobby was scheduled to be Bray White's
next opponent when bray got sick, and like how good
that would be. Like they're so much storytelling involved in

(42:01):
that that just almost rites hisself.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
But yeah, it sucks, We're not gonna get that.

Speaker 4 (42:06):
But look, this is a chance for Bobby Lashley Shell
and Benjamin MVP and whoever else they bring in to
show the world what they're capable of, because WWW did
drop the ball with these guys, you know, at the
end of their run, and that's Bobby that should be
a multi time champion. Still does not feel like he
got the credit or the respect he deserved from his

(42:27):
time in WWE.

Speaker 2 (42:28):
I totally agree. I can't believe they let him walk.
I really thought he was one of the top guys
in the company. He was one of the top guys
in the company, and he may have been somebody that
Vince liked a little bit more than triple h But
it's like people loved Bobby Lashley when they tried to
make the Pride in w WE heel it did not work.
People were chairing him in the street profits on, and

(42:50):
then here he is an AW when he's getting the
same reaction. People love Bobby Lashley, and I can't believe
they let them walk The main event here doctor Trey
John Moxley defeating Orange Cassidy'd retain the AW World Championship.
We've both had mox in this one. I thought the
build up for this match was good until I watched
the countdown of Full Gear Special where they mentioned basically

(43:11):
all the top stars are tied up with other stuff
rather than defending AW from the death Riders, so Orange
cast seed it is. I could not believe that was
the reason why why they put that in there in
that show. I was like shocked with it. They were
like Osprey, Swerve and Hanging Manner. They're all j white,
They're involved with other stuff. So I guess Orange Cassidy works.

(43:33):
The death Rider's angle has been kind of boring and
need some more to it, which we may be getting
from the ending of Full Gear. As Hangman page Christian Cage,
Jay White, and Darby Allen all got involved to close
the show, which once again I thought was a disservice
to Orange Cassidy. He was basically an afterthought. Shortly after
the match, Doctor Trey, I did not love the match.

(43:55):
I did not love what they did to Orange Cassidy.
Your thoughts here is mox retains.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
Their match a year ago is better.

Speaker 4 (44:03):
This match was lackluster at best, especially on the heels
of Lashley and Swerve, Like that match was better than
this one. And this is your main event. And this
is also why I figure out Tony why Tony Kahn
has not blocked me on Twitter or on Hex or
anything like that, because listen is the freaking show, Jeff,
because some of the stuff that we say.

Speaker 1 (44:24):
I literally said that verbatim a couple.

Speaker 4 (44:26):
Of weeks ago, which was I'm a little I'm a
little bummed that's Orange, because I mean, you got all
these other guys who are probably bigger stars, but these
guys are trying to take over your company, and it's
Orange to the rescue. And Darby, Now, mind you, Darby,
who three months ago lost a casket match to Jack Perry,
is your next saving grace, Like I get it, you're

(44:47):
trying to build some guys out of this, but I mean,
I mean Jack, I mean Darby Allen crashed a car
into nothing. You have a guy who's crashing a car
and apparently no stunt double in this. He's crashing a
car for the sake of your company. But it's like
it just doesn't feel right. And then you got Christian Cage,

(45:07):
who's the most despicable character in all of AW and
he's out there like maybe trying to cash in, maybe not.
And I don't understand the contract because apparently there has
to be a signature is involved in this thing. Like
I'm completely confused by how that contract works, how this
whole thing plays out. Why Hangman's out there because Hangman

(45:31):
is kind of friend with with the Bucks.

Speaker 1 (45:32):
And they left.

Speaker 4 (45:33):
I don't really It's it's all over the place and
nothing is sticking. And that's what worries me about this
whole angle is because this could be and should be
the biggest thing going on in AW, which is why
is the main event. And I was more into Swerving Lashly,
I mean I was more into hate say, I was

(45:54):
more into Mercedes and Statlander than I was this match
it just did not have I never felt like mox
was in danger of losing his title on this show,
and that is a disservice to Orange Cassidy in your
main event.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Yeah, it was the clothes was fine, the Darby stuff
we talked about in the last week's show too. He
gets his ass kicked by Claudio Casa and Noli headed
into the pay per view, So like, why would I
think he can defend aw's honor to John Moxley. It's
I don't know. The booking is so freaking bad at times,
and this is a case of it. It's just the

(46:30):
death writer's angle. I'm watching the match, I'm watching the
end of the show into the show kind of like
got me interested, but I'm like, man.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
This angle is bad.

Speaker 2 (46:38):
It's boring. The death Writers are coming off is very
boring on television right now. There's nothing about them or
the Moxley character presently that I'm like interested in. And
I'm a huge fan of mox I'm a huge fan
of Pak and Wheeler, Juda and Claudio Marina Shafirra all
of a sudden, randomly speaking Russian, not a big fan
of but writers like these are guys that I like,

(47:02):
and they have found a way to make them incredibly
boring for me and just it's not enjoyable. They got
to do something here to make this very interesting soon,
doctor try.

Speaker 4 (47:13):
The way to make this work is I hate to
say this because both the wrestling fans will get mad
at me, is literally go watch nineteen ninety four ninety
five WCW. With the nWo, the fact that they need
to be attacking everybody. You need your attacks need to
form allegiances against you, you know, And honestly, once they

(47:34):
start doing that, they need to add a couple of
people into the mix. They need to add a couple
more people onto the Death Writers because right now, like
you should feel like with a name for one with
a name like the Death Writers and you have the
world title in your hands, you need to have your
group feel like oncoming doom. Like if you remember back
when the nWo launched and you start seeing those attacks

(47:55):
and then Hogan joined, and then you just kind of
felt like this wave and who's going to stay end
up against this way that's about to come crashing down
on the entire company.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
That's how you need to set this up.

Speaker 4 (48:06):
You need to set it up to make it feel
like the death writers are the biggest risk to the
sanctity of AEW and right now they feel like the
biggest threat.

Speaker 1 (48:14):
To the mid cart of AAW.

Speaker 4 (48:16):
And that's a disservice to everybody involved because this should
be your biggest storyline in your biggest bills. So you
need to start getting your bigger stars involved. Like you remember,
early on the NBO it was like, who's going to
stand up against them? And you know, and in to
being sting and Luger, and even then at times you
felt like that it doesn't match up. But it also
goes back that you don't want two guys holding off

(48:37):
your entire roster like halla Ashton on one episode. But
you need this group to feel like they're coming in
to take out everybody, and it doesn't feel like that yet.

Speaker 1 (48:48):
And that's kind of what's lacking in this angle.

Speaker 4 (48:50):
They need to feel like they're a threat to ae
W and right now they just don't feel like that.

Speaker 2 (48:57):
Yeah, and the other stuff too, is you know, it's
like this is their vision of AW. Then Big Boom
a JSON the pre show, it's like, okay, so this
is your vision for AW. Yeah, you know, it makes
sense in.

Speaker 1 (49:14):
Yeah, John Moxy has a death rider on the Wrizzler.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
Yeah yeah. He just says some random, weird promo that's
hard to follow, and the Wrizzler just does the Wrizzler
face in his face. So and then and then the
Wrizzler and Poker eyed Eye and battle in and out
all in one shot. It's it's it was weird, very
very weird. Nonetheless, let's match the night vent rating. I'll

(49:38):
start here, doctor Trey. I gave aw Full Gear a
three point four out of five, and my match the
night was Mercedes Money and Chris Statlander.

Speaker 1 (49:47):
What say you okay?

Speaker 2 (49:49):
This?

Speaker 1 (49:49):
By the way, guys, this was not rahears.

Speaker 4 (49:50):
I had a three point four also, uh and my imagine,
I just purely out of the fact that I could
never give Mercedes Money. The match of the night was
lastly in so last year's Serve match night, Mercedes in
stat later on and Aussie was basically an equal match
to me those two, so I just I gave it
to Swerve. And lastly, just because I still Mercedes Money

(50:13):
hasn't won me over yet to actually say that ever
about her.

Speaker 2 (50:16):
All right, doctor Trey. So there you go, A w
full gears in the books and let's start to prepredict
w Survivor Series war games. It comes to us this
Saturday from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The first match on the card here is La Night.
Oh I'm sorry, I didn't even do the pay per
view prediction record, so both of us were six and
three coming out of this pay per view. I'm one

(50:37):
thirty nine and thirty nine. Doctor Trey's one twenty six
to fifty two. Now to Survivor Series. La Night versus
Shinsk for the w W United States Championship. The returning
Chitinsk happy to see him back, but I'm gonna take
La Night in this one, Doctor Trey.

Speaker 4 (50:51):
Man, I really want to keep I really want to
take shins K, but I don't think they've built this
up enough, and plus he keeps getting the upper hands,
so I'm gonna take La Knights to retain as well.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
X match is bron Breaker defending the Intercontinental Championship in
a triple threat match against Seamus and Ludwig Kaiser. I
actually there's gonna be a title change here, and I'm
going to go with Seamus. Finally completing the Grand Slam
of becoming an Intercontinental champion.

Speaker 4 (51:15):
Yeah, it kind of feels like Bron's the guy they're
going to kind of hot shot the title on and
off for a little bit, like he'll lose it, get
it back, lose it, get it back. He might get
five reigns within a year with this interconnent title. But
I was doing the same thing, like, if you're gonna
ever pull the trigger on Seamus getting the Grand Slam,
it's gonna be now.

Speaker 1 (51:33):
And he's lost the way, he looks way better than
he did when he came back.

Speaker 4 (51:36):
So I'm gonna give Seamus getting the win by taking
out Kaiser and then setting up breaker seamous rematch.

Speaker 2 (51:43):
At Royal Rumble, Gunner defends the World have Aweight Championship
against Damian Priest. I am going to take guntherro in
this one, Doctor Trey.

Speaker 1 (51:51):
You know it's funny.

Speaker 4 (51:52):
I was on another podcast earlier this week and there's
four people in the show and two of them took
Damian Priest and the other two to Gunther. So I
still feel like they have Goldberg in the can for
Gunther and I still say Johnsena and Gunther at WrestleMania
is a great match to go to if you want
to get that Ivan Drago Rocky kind of feel. So

(52:13):
I'm taking Gunther to Retain to possibly set those two
matches up.

Speaker 2 (52:17):
Do Trent, do you want to promote this show that
people go out can go out and listen to them.

Speaker 1 (52:20):
I'll save it for the close also spots at the end.

Speaker 2 (52:24):
Next match year is Ria Ripley, Bianca Bella, are Naomi Eo,
Sky and Bailey replacing the injured the real really injured,
uh Jade Cargill against liv Morgan, rock Cal Rodriguez, Nijack,
Tiffany Stratton, cannicel Right. In a women's wargame match, I'm
gonna go with Ria, Bianca, Naomi Eo and Bailey Doctor
Trey Oh good.

Speaker 4 (52:43):
We get to disagree on one, so I'm taking Live,
Nya Tiffany because uh, it just feels like I said
their show like, it feels like NYA and Live are
placeholders for their titles, so they need a big win.
So I'm gonna take them getting the win in Survivor series.

Speaker 2 (52:58):
And then the men's wargame actually got Roman Range, ja Uso,
Jimmy Usso, Sammy Zain and the Fifth Man Ce m
Punk taking on Solo so CoA, Jacob Fatou, Tomatung Ktungalow,
and Broughton Red in a men's wargame match. Doc Trey,
I'm going to take the OG bloodline and see him Punk.

Speaker 4 (53:15):
Yeah, that's with another match that we talked about on
that show, and I'm taking the OG bloodline as well.
I think you can't put rains in Punk on the
same team and have them lose. But I do think
that there will be a post match beat down and
possibly the reveal of some New Bloodline new members and
possibly do you think we see the final Boss at
Survivor series.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
I think he may be there. I think he may
be there, So I kind of.

Speaker 4 (53:39):
Feel like this is where the reveal comes that he's
in charge of the New Bloodline to start setting up
Solo and Roman and then eventually Rock and Roman. So
that's I kind of feel like we're gonna get that reveal.
Suit It may not happen at this show, but it
might happen right after Unraw. I just feel like it's
coming soon to start setting up for Rumble.

Speaker 2 (53:57):
Not sure one we're gonna be able to talk about this,
but the CM Punk I loved the booking on this
Doctor Trey because it makes so much sense. Because Seth
Ronds wants Bronson Reid Punk. He is going to enter
this match and supersede Seth Ronalds, who could have potentially
taken the spot. He said he wanted to take the
spot even though he wants Bronson. Reid Punk will be
in the cage with Bronson and then the other members

(54:18):
of the Bloodline. He is defending Paul Hayman's honor in this,
which makes a ton of sense. I thought this was
really good, creative, smart booking.

Speaker 4 (54:27):
Oh, it was fantastic because this is that long term
storytelling we talked about in WDB where they do stuff
four or five months ago and it doesn't make sense
to us, like why'd that happen? And then it makes
sense later on if you go back to that CM
Punk in Chicago, Solo comes out to make him acknowledge him,
but Paul's in the ring and he's like, Paul, what
do you want?

Speaker 1 (54:47):
He's like, take me with you. Oh, that was so good.

Speaker 4 (54:49):
And then Paul Hayman wearing almost the exact same outfits
Solo was wearing when they put him through the table,
like such good little intricacies in the storytelling and all this.
I I'm actually this, this actually got me e cyper
Survivors because I wasn't. I mean, I was kind of
feeling it, but I need to see the fifth member
was this has got me kind of feeling the Survivor series.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
Yeah, that was really really good booking. Talking of cmpunk,
Doctor Trey, it is now one year later of cm
punk and w w WW has released a very very
fun less than ten minutes documentary on YouTube that I
highly recommend everybody checking out with the return of cmpunk
behind the scenes in w WI Whinning Returns Survivers series

(55:30):
last year. Here we are one year later. What do
you think so far of Cmpunk's first year back in
World Wrestling Entertainment.

Speaker 1 (55:39):
I think it's been good. It's not great, but it's
been a good. Part of that was the injury.

Speaker 4 (55:44):
The injury kept them out for a little while, but
they were able to keep some storytelling going and keep
them to keep the fans engaged in this whole thing.
He's been on his best behavior. We haven't heard of
anybody any complaints. We haven't heard of any you know,
backstage rifts. He seems like he's having fun. They're using
him in good spots. And here's the crazy thing, Jeff,

(56:04):
it's been a year and Cody, I mean we see him.
Punk has not faced Seth or Cody in this entire time,
and those are two people that we thought he was
definitely gonna face when he came back. He hasn't fought
Cody or Seth, and he's teaming with Roman Reigns. So
it's crazy how this year's played out. It's basically him
and Drew McIntyre and that's it. But don't forget he

(56:27):
had the interaction with with Gunther, so that's still in
the pipeline. The face to face with the Roman coming
up this Friday on Smackdowns on the pipeline. So the
year one's been good, but man, year two can be fantastic.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
Punk was injured for about seven months this year and
it never felt like it, Doctor Try. That's what's crazy.
He may have one of the best feuds of this
year with Drew McIntyre. Like you said, you would have
figured by this point he would have a match with Seth,
Rahm's Cody Rhodes, Roman Rains, Damien Pray's Gunther, whomever. He

(57:02):
hasn't basically his only matches with Drew McIntyre and now
he's seen him with the LG Bloodline to defend Paul
Hayman's honor. He looks revitalized, he looks refreshed, he looks
like he's having fun. I think everybody went into this
with optimism and pessimism as well, potentially of him returning
to w WII and working with Triple H again. So far,

(57:25):
so good, Doc Tray, and I hope it continues that
way because the people that are benefiting from it are us. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (57:31):
I mean, he spent all that time and Drew McIntyre
over a bracelet, and now he's jumping into the bloodline
feed over a necklace. So apparently every kiss begins with
CM punk Yeah.

Speaker 2 (57:41):
No, it is the Christmas season, so maybe he has
some Black Friday deals that he has a zion and
he needs to get that stuff back for a j Lee.
Let's wrap up the show here, Doctor Trey with of
course it is Thanksgiving. What is the one thing we
are thankful for in professional wrestling?

Speaker 1 (57:59):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (58:00):
Now? I start with you, Doctor Trey.

Speaker 4 (58:01):
Oh, what am I thankful in professional wrestling? That we
have two shows that combined or We have two brands
that combined give you everything in the world of wrestling
you can possibly want. You have one show that has
really good matches and some great storytelling. You have another
show that has storytelling but some fantastic matches. There really

(58:24):
isn't a whole lot if you look at the grand
scheme of wrestling where we're at in.

Speaker 1 (58:29):
Twenty twenty four heading into twenty.

Speaker 4 (58:30):
Twenty five, that you can really complain about, especially compared
to some of the years past that we've been covering
the show. Wrestling's in a really, really good spot. It's
getting notoriety, it's getting public buzz. This has been the
most fun in wrestling I have had in probably ten
years at least. So I'm just happy for the health

(58:52):
of professional wrestling right now.

Speaker 2 (58:54):
Doctor Trey mentioned early on, we did not plan these things.
Doctor Trey did not know I was going to ask
this question until I literally asked it. And my one
thing is very similar to yours, and it's just the
overall it's the health of profession wrestler right now. It's
in a very very good spot. It's a lot of
things that you just said. We've been doing this podcast
in February We'll have been doing this podcast now for

(59:16):
fifteen years, doctor Trey full time for thirteen, but he
has been part of it since like the first I
think he was in the first ten episodes of SRTU.
So for fifteen years we've been covering wrestling here in
SRTU nearly and this has been one of the most
fun times I've ever had. I mean, WWE is really

(59:37):
good right now. Aw has a lot to work on,
but we know it can be good based on things
that they've done in the past. People are entertained by wrestling.
People are having fun watching wrestling, people are going out
to shows for wrestling, people are talking about wrestling. You
see wrestling back out there. I always refer back to

(59:57):
the golden era of my time in my lifetime wrestling
fan was the late nineties. It's very similar to that.
I don't think it's fully there yet, but it's a
time where people are paying attention to what's going on.
And twenty twenty four, when I look back at it,
for professional wrestling, maybe one of the most fun years
we've ever had covering it because a lot of twists

(01:00:18):
and turns, a lot of things they could have crashed
and burned and they didn't. And you know, in the
instance Seth, the Seth Rollins, Cody Roads, Robin Rains Rock
storyline heading in the Wrestlemaning could have kept crash and
burned severely, and WA did a complete one eighty reverse course,
salvaged it and probably made it better than what was
originally planned and made it extremely entertaining and fun to

(01:00:40):
watch as if you were at home. It's just fun
right now. It's a fun time to be a wrestling fan.
And that is what I'm most thankful for. And I'm
thankful that we still get to do this stuff and
still have fun talking wrestling each and every week, and
thankful that we get an opportunity for fourteen years to
sit here on Thanksgiving and top professional wrestling and have

(01:01:00):
folks around the world download the show on a holiday
to get away from people for a little bit, some
family for a little bit. Let me pop in Doctor
Train and Jeff Peck for over an hour talk of
professional wrestling. Listen to these guys just kind of shoot
the breeze about everything that they like dislike about professional wrestling.
So thanks for everybody who has supported the show over
the years, and thank you for downloading as always, and

(01:01:22):
feel free to feel free to chime in for what
you were most thankful for in regards to professional wrestling
at SRTU podcast on xoor, Facebook dot com slash the
Still Real to Us Show. The last thing I'll bring
up here is our holiday programming schedule has been released.
It all begins on episode number seven hundred and seventy
five on December nineteenth, twenty twenty four, so it's about

(01:01:45):
three episodes from now, folks, and that will be our
twenty twenty four wrestling recap special. On episode number seven
hundred and seventy six on December twenty six, twenty twenty four,
will be our twenty twenty four SRTU Award Show Special,
and then we kick off the new year on jan
Nuary second, twenty twenty five, with episode number seven hundred
and seventy seven with our twenty twenty five wrestling Preview special.

(01:02:07):
We'll probably sprinkle in some stuff for aw World's end
and potentially we Saturday Night's main event. But this is
the time to hear that Doctor Trey and I usually
like to check out for a little bit and regroup
and get you ready for the new year, because the
road to WrestleMania forty two is upon us, which is
just wild to think. Excuse me, WrestleMania forty one is

(01:02:30):

anniversary show for Rocket ste Championship Wrestling, and then shortly
after that is the Rocket City Rumble, which is my
favorite event that we do. The building gets packed out.
We have like four people for that show. It's my
favorite time of the year. So I'm excited for that.

(01:03:28):
And if you want more Doctor Trey, like I mentioned earlier,
you can catch me on the Rejects podcast. So just
go to Facebook dot com slash the Rejects podcast or
search them mat you can find me there. Jeff, it

He runs it.

Speaker 4 (01:03:45):
They do a great job. And not to mention it's
on it's a livestream podcast. It's like you literally see
my face for an hour and a half, which we
don't do because I love you guys and I don't
want to burden with you at that site.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
So where people where can people check that out?

Speaker 4 (01:04:02):
It's the REGI if you go to Facebook dot com
slash the Rejects podcast, I believe and if that, if
that's not the actual link, you can just search on
Facebook the regis Rejects Podcasts. It's the first thing that
comes up and you'll see my my happy face for
like an hour and a half.

Speaker 1 (01:04:17):
It's crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:04:19):
It's just it was a good time we got to
It's it's a They do a similar type thing to us.
They do a lot of talk about the wrestling world
and recapping some stuff, but uh, they do a lot
more deep dives into certain areas that we do. Uh,
and more fancy booking than we do, because, as you
can tell by our predictions, my fancy booking skills are atrocious.

Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
So off the I just got the Rejects. It was
like a movie podcast, the Rejects podcast.

Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
I will find it and post it on our Facebook page.

Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
Yeah, please do. Let's give them some love so that way.

Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
It's easier to find because I don't know there you
are l.

Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
Fair enough, fair enough? Yeah, Doctor Trap will post it
up on our sr to you page for everybody to
check out. Maybe up there by the time you download
and listen to the show doc tre before we close
up shop here. Any thoughts on the upcoming holiday programming schedule.

Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
No, I'm super excited for it.

Speaker 4 (01:05:12):
It's amazing that it just so happens that the first
episode of the year is seven seven seven, which was
who you Were in Atlantic City. That'd be a really
good number to have. I'm excited because twenty twenty four
has been so good. I am stoked to see what
twenty twenty five brings us, and I can't there are
years in the past you and I know this that

(01:05:32):
we couldn't say that heading into the new year, about
how real like we had to be optimistic and cautiously
optimistic and hopeful. Dude, I am downright giddy about how
good twenty twenty five might. I mean we're gonna I mean,
not only is wrestling coming to Netflix, wrestling is also
coming to Max. So I mean the fact that you're

(01:05:53):
gonna have two different streaming services showing wrestling, that you
can literally cut the cord and watch wrestling on this
your streaming stuff like, and that gives it a little
more openness to what content thinking show.

Speaker 1 (01:06:05):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (01:06:06):
I am just so excited for twenty twenty five that
I have said dude so many times the last five minutes.

Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
Yeah, no, I'm with you, dude. So it's a good
time for professional wrestling. More importantly, to those who celebrate
enjoy Thanksgiving, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Thank you
for making us part of your Thanksgiving week. Thank you
for making us part of your week each and every week.
Thank you for supporting the Still Realta Show and until
