It’s not just in your head.
It’s not just “all psychological.”
Chronic stress is physically changing your brain — and dismantling your body’s defenses.
In this powerful episode, mindfulness and emotional wellness expert Dr. Soha reveals the shocking truth about stress: it’s not just making you anxious — it’s reshaping your mind and silently weakening your immune system, leaving you more vulnerable to illness, fatigue, and long-term disease.
When your body is stuck in survival mode, real biological changes occur:
  • The amygdala (your brain’s fear center) grows more reactive — making you feel constantly on edge
  • The prefrontal cortex (responsible for calm thinking and decision-making) begins to shrink
  • Cortisol floods your system, suppressing immune function and increasing inflammation
  • Sleep, digestion, and healing all suffer — no matter how “healthy” your habits seem

Dr. Soha breaks down:
  • How just weeks of unresolved stress can alter brain structure and function
  • Why you keep getting sick when you’re overwhelmed
  • The hidden connection between anxiety, depression, and a weakened immune response
  • What your body is trying to tell you through fatigue, brain fog, and recurring infections
  • Science-backed ways to rewire your brain back to calm and restore immune resilience — without medication or extreme measures

This isn’t about “thinking positive.”
It’s about resetting your nervous system, healing from within, and reclaiming your body’s natural balance.
🎧 If you’re tired of feeling run down, anxious, or like your body is betraying you — this episode is your wake-up call.
Because stress doesn’t just affect you —
it transforms you. And the good news? You can transform back.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
Hello, and a very warm welcome to all of you
and relaxive podcasts and I'm your friend, your whole stock
coats not. Today's topic is irrelevant for all of us.
And this is about how stress can affect our gut,
not our gut, feeling our gut. If you're wondering that

(00:27):
is there a link between our gut and our brain? Yes,
which is why we say that God is mainly our
second brain, right and body. And it's the relation between
our brain and God is pretty powerful. That's why we
feel this very portion of our valley before a difficult conversation,

(00:51):
or butterflies and our stomach before our first date, or
when we fall in love with someone or feel a
crush on someone or see something interesting, and emotions from
excitement to anxiety can have a big impact on our
gut health. You know how, because this is a system

(01:16):
in which nerve cells lining our digestive tract and all
of these small nerve cells they send these signals back
and forth to our brain. So there is no surprise
that we feel stress when we are feeling stress in
both our mind and our values. Stress actually and crowning

(01:42):
stress can lead to depression. Depression can lead to anxiety
and many other health problems and mental health issues. It
can contribute to GI. This is like God and worsen
symptoms of conditions like IBD and IBS. So how to

(02:05):
treat this stress which is affecting our gut? Number one?
Try to manage your stress level in a better way.
Number two, adopt those kind of techniques which are helpful
for you in managing your stress, whether it's like talking

(02:31):
with a brand or doing a little bit of exercise
or trying any therapy, meditation, yoga, whatever, okay, And then
adopter number three adopt healthy lifestyle. It always process food
and salt and sugar. If not completely, then at least

(02:54):
consume it very less, you know, and try to consume
more green leafy veggies alongside with the proteins you require.
And I guess what, Even then, it will be impossible
for any of us to eliminate stress in our lives,

(03:18):
and especially in these one times where everyone is running
after what money and monetary value of ours is more
important than any other thing to us and to other people.
This is how people nowadays value others, right how much
money they got, no matter what their morals are, no

(03:41):
matter how broken they are as a person, you know,
value wise or empty wise. But people if they got money,
they are it seems to be a privileged and they
are valued in our societies. And this is a dark

(04:05):
truth of today's what we so called modern life. Now
we have learned this thing, my dear ones, that how
we can deal with the stress which is affecting our God.

(04:25):
But what happens when stress is actually affecting our God?
Number one, it slows down the digestion process in our dummies,
when the body is on a fight more than actually

(04:45):
it is on a flight mode, meaning everything stops and
the body is not responding as we wanted to respond.

(05:11):
The digestion process it slows down and it tries to
conserve the resources, which is why you can feel loted
at times and feel as your chummy is more fo
But it also slows down for your body to digest

(05:37):
and absorb foods properly, which may trigger to indigestion or
diarrhea or even further complications. Number two, No, sometimes when
we want to alter the gut bacteria, when we know

(05:58):
that there are trillions of micro organisms like bacteria living
in our gi tract, stress harmones and responses like inflammation,
they can lead to an imbalance of good and bad bacteria.
And when this happens, then what comes next is conditions

(06:19):
like IBD and CIBO. Stress can naturally decrease the diversity
of gut bacteria and it is the cause of an
unhealthy gut. So this is how stress is affecting us all. Now.

(06:41):
Number three is a very important point, which is that
we feel sometimes increasing pain or discomfort in our stomach
or more gas production in our stommerch. Yeah, and it
feels like a not is there in our stomach and
same is in our head. And if you're feeling the same,

(07:04):
then you're not alone. It is a real feeling and
you should know about this. One reason is stress, and
then the hormonal imbalance would be got to know, which
can bring about stomach pin and nausea and daria. So
if you are going through IBS, stress can also lead

(07:25):
to more pain and it could get more reversion. As
I've told you that you can experience gas diarrhea and
constipation often and what to do about that. I have
already told you that. And if you are feeling too
much pressure in your tummy and you are not able

(07:47):
to pass soul properly time to time, then you should
consulting doctor. And this is an indicator of your health.
So don't pass it on just like that or ignore
it and catch whatever issues you may have and you
are feeling that, you should consult those issues with your

(08:11):
health practitioner. Don't shy away from your gut feeling and
from that gut feeling inside us. I know that at
times we feel embarrassed talking to our doctor about our poop.
But if there is a greasy texture in your poop,

(08:31):
or blood is coming in your poop, or there is
an unusual color of your poop, or it's the tool
is not of a normal shape, it's very flat, then
you should, you know, consult your health practitioners a being,
and remember you are precious and you have to take

(08:54):
care of yourself, because if you're not going to take
your care of yourself, then who well? Right? And self
love is all about taking care of yourself. And this
is not embarrassing and this is not being selfish. This
is just being more aware, organized discipline and living a

(09:18):
healthy life, adopting a healthy lifestyle and keeping the precaution
first rather than receiving the cure afterwards. After we already
suffered from the disease, and now we want an outlet
and we want some relief, and here we go. Then

(09:41):
we see our doctors. It's not the right approach. You've
been listening to relaxive podcasts and your friends, your hosts
Dot and Coach. So my for now, my lovelace,
