(00:00):
All right, damp struggling with theaudio here, but I luckily have Shannon
Scott alongside Syre as a bear withme. Chay, what's going on over
there? I forget what that computeris called? Is that? What room?
Is that? Well, we've beenstruggling with this one that much,
(00:22):
I know. And uh, Ithink Kelly was saying, this is on
his last legs over here? Kelly, can you give me an update on
that? Is she over there orshe has walked out on her last legs?
Well, I'm having here's let mejust give you a real time kind
of update. X what please tryyour computer? No, it's not that.
(00:48):
Here's here's what's happening. And Ihate that this is happening at the
beginning of the show. But there'sa couple of things that go on here.
Where's the waving? What's the wavingabout? Give me a lieutenant Dan,
Hi, No, it's only lettingme open this audio folder one cut
at a time. Here's the problem. I've got forty one cuts and the
(01:08):
first cut is the deepest you canplay that coming back, I think that
would be appropriate. That's some KatStevens over there, right, or some
use of Islam is that what hegoes by now? Right? First cut
is the deepest. Isn't that somehairband deal? Kel Well? I mean
it depinds in the air topretation.I know that Cheryl Crow did a cover
of that, but I believe itwas Kat Stevens who had the original version
(01:32):
and then she admired him and wantedto cover four. That is Kelly over
there now or what's going on?I'm here, hi, I need you
to do well, I just needyou to fill in. Let me get
your thoughts on what you saw atthe Republican Convention last night. What did
you think? I thought Trump camein like a wrecking ball and he's just
(01:57):
going to completely dominate the selection season. I don't know how I feel about
JD Vance yet, that'll come out. I'm sure. I think overall it's
a pretty good pick. I knowin listening to like our Little Bumpers and
the News had cuts of KBB.She's really really happy with the pick,
(02:19):
and so I think he's gonna beokay. Well, I think one of
the reasons KBB might like it,and I'll need to talk to her myself
in an effort to have her onthe show. We're gonna have Jimmy Sangenberger
coming up up to the bottom ofthe hour. And you know what those
two sharing common other than they're bothRepublicans, they're both millennials. Yeah,
and so is jd Vance. That'scorrect. And Jimmy and I were kind
(02:40):
of joking back and forth last nighton a Facebook message. This is why
I want to have him on thatit's the millennials, not the gen xers.
They get left out. And I'mlike, again, you know,
we gen xers get overlooked. Wewere the last key kids, right,
wouldn't it just make sense, Iguess, and be poetic that gen x
like Ronda SAMs a great future presidentperhaps like that, we'll just get bypassed
(03:05):
and a millennial would take over fora boomer. How about that, kel,
I don't think so. I don'tsee it as that. I think
Jena x is fine. Do youreally think that it was bad to pick
a millennial? No, I'm notsaying that at all. I like jd
Vance. I like a lot ofthings about jd Vance. I don't have
a real problem with the pick.I'm just saying that it's the funny kind
(03:27):
of banter that Jimmy and I wehave now Shannon, you're still technically gen
X, right, you're post boomer, right, that would be considered you're
gen X in your earliest early genX, early gen X. That's right,
og gen X, as we wouldsay. And JD. Vance may
be interested as a millennial in producingmore gasoline in America, but as a
gen X, I'm interested in puttingsugar in your gas tank. Well,
(03:53):
let me ask you, Shannon, since you know you don't really opening a
lot on these matters except behind closeddoors, what did you think of the
VP pick by Trump? How didyou feel about that? I didn't know
enough about him, and when Iheard where he was, where he was
from, in the influence he hadin that area, I realized that going
for a bread basket a rust beltMidwest one of US anchor seemed a smart
(04:17):
move, one of US. Kelly, turning back to you, what did
you think of Teamster's president Sean O'Briengiving one of the I guess, the
keynote address of Monday Night. Hewas right in that primetime slot. I
thought he was great. Some peoplehad commented that maybe he droned on a
little bit too long, but Ithought it was the perfect amount of speech,
(04:42):
and he really hit the notes veryvery well. And although he didn't
really go so far as to endorse, but he definitely is excited and moving
forward. And so I think thatwas a really, really good idea that
the Republicans did in putting him upon the stage. You know, let's
get a couple of quick highlights herefrom Sean O'Brien. This is the guy
(05:04):
if you remember too, it wasa Senate hearing and he and Senator Mark
Wayne Mullen almost came to blows. And I'm not so sure how that would
have turned out. Now, ShanO'Brien, he's a tough guy from Boston.
I'm not underestimating him. But MarkWayne Mullen wasn't he like a mixed
martial arts guy. That might nothave been a good idea, but those
(05:24):
two almost came to blows. Hereare the highlights of what Sean O'Brien said
last night. I'll explain why they'reimportant. President Trump had the backbone to
open the doors to this Republican convention, and that's unprecedented. No other nominee
(05:44):
in the race would have invited theteam says into this arena. Now,
You can have whatever opinion you want, but one thing is clear. President
Trump is a candidate who was notafraid of hearing from new, loud and
often critical voices like his own,and he was right. A teamster's president
(06:05):
has never spoken at the Republican NationalConvention. He went in on the Chamber
of Commerce, which dive. They'vefallen out of favor with me. Chamber
of Commerce has turned into kind ofthis quasi unit party. I think they
endorsed Biden the last time around. If I'm not mistaken, I could be
wrong there, but I don't thinkthat I am Trump. The reason he
(06:27):
won in twenty sixteen was he awakeneda lot of these Reagan Democrats who might
be members of a union, specificallya private sector union like the UAW private
sector unions like the railroads. KeySean O'Brien complimented Senator Josh Holly from Missouri
for standing up for those workers' rights. He praised jd Vance, the vice
(06:50):
presidential nominee. Because the Republican Partyhas done a turn here. There has
been an evolution of the Republican Partyand in the Upper Midwest, if that
means you tap into labor like theIBW, like the UAW, like the
Teamsters. I'm telling you this, the Democratic coalition falls apart. The Democrats
(07:11):
have taken organized labor for granted formany years. And in fact, the
UAW president came right out and said, yeah, we're endorsing Biden, but
the rank and file, we know, the autoworkers, they're going to vote
for Trump. The fact that SeanO'Brien was there, that the fact that
Sean O'Brien said what he said aboutDonald Trump, about jd Vance, about
(07:31):
Josh Hawley, this eroads that kindof understood and assumed coalition of organized labor
with the Democrats. This is abrilliant move by Donald Trump to extend this
invitation. It is political savviness onthe highest level. And then one of
the highlights of the night Sean O'Brientalking about the failed assassination attempt against Donald
(07:57):
Trump over the weekend. And Ithink we all agree why the people like
him, well, they don't likehim in light of what happened to him
on Saturday. He has proven tobe one tough sob Now, I wanted
(08:41):
you to hear that entire reaction, because that was organic, that was real,
That was electric. That was thatwas on another level, and the
only thing I think that exceeded itthe whole night was, to Kelly's point,
the Trump entrance, which let's goback to that for a moment,
Kelly, and the chills that Igot and the that America got. I
(09:01):
mean, we're talking about people evenlike Gail King CBS, Jake Tapper CNN
going, I've never seen anything likeit, that entrance by Donald Trump and
what it meant, what it meantto America, what it meant to the
Republican Party last night. Yes,I teared up a little bit. I
was really really happy. And thenI watched it and thought to myself,
(09:24):
Wow, this might be a littleeasier than I thought it was going to
be because he just has all themomentum and uh, there's nowhere left to
go but up from here. Right. Well, I want to work backwards
a little bit based on what youjust said and Scott Jennings he went off
last night and CNN's coverage, andthere's a lot of detail here that I
(09:48):
want to get to. Maybe I'lldo it in part in this hour and
then to start the next hour,Jimmy Sangenberg will be joining me at the
bottom of the hour. But VanJones basically posed that question based on all
of this momentum. Kelly, yourexact actly right as to where this stands,
this race stands right now, andwhere it could go from here.
And I want to build off ofwhat Scott Jennings told Van Jones. I
(10:09):
feel your passion and you are restrainedcompared to the feelings of a lot of
people in your party who are veryhurt and very mad. I think on
our side, though, the passionshould also go to Donald Trump. If
you want to go through all themean, terrible stuff. He said,
there's not the day to go throughit. It's a big it's a pretty
big pile tip. I'd like torespond to that, okay, But because
(10:30):
you're right, and this week isthe greatest opportunity for a modern presidential candidate
since nine to eleven, for ourpresident or a presental candidate to unite this
country and put us in a betterplace. What Donald Trump that's going to
happen? I don't know. Ihope good. But Donald Trump has the
leverage, he has the capital,he has our attention, and he has
(10:54):
the moment. He has the momenthe does and Donald Trump exceeded the moment
on Saturday, after taking a bulletto the ear to have the instincts,
the gall the audacity, the wherewithalto rise up, blood streaming down his
face, fist in the air, shouting fight to the audience. I just
(11:15):
ordered a T shirt, by theway, with an iconic photo on it
that was a moment in history, and he nailed it. He seized it.
And then in the wake of thisnear assassination, think about this,
these moronic a holes at CNN.Well Trump, he's to blame for his
owns. No, he's not.Anything Trump has said. Show me the
(11:37):
violent incident that has happened in thewake of anything Donald Trump has said that
anybody on our side has perpetrated againstanybody on their side. It hasn't happened.
Plus, I'm going to bring thereceipts to break down the lies by
the left that they continue to tell, including Joe Biden. But Scott Jennings
(12:00):
is absolutely right. Thursday Night representsa moment, and Donald Trump knows that
he's the ultimate showman. He's p. T. Barnum of this century,
and he knows what he has todo. I think it's clearer to him
than ever before. This is achanged man. That's the other thing I
want to talk to you two about, Shannon and Kelly. The demeanor of
(12:20):
Donald Trump, the look on hisface, the look in his eyes,
the smile, but it was wounded. I mean, there's a lot of
layers and texture to what we sawfrom Donald Trump last night. Kelly.
Did you see it? I did? And did you also hear that he
had a completely different speech prepared onThursday, he ripped it up and he
(12:43):
instead wrote a different one. Nowthat tells you, right then and there
that this person has pivoted and heknows exactly what he needs to do in
order to win over the hearts andminds of people out there who may have
just been wanting the mainstream media anddon't really get Trump. So this is
his opportunity to really really reach outto those people, and I think he's
(13:07):
going to do phenomenal. We'll seewhat happens Thursday night. That's when he
will speak. Republican Convention continues today. Mandy Connell is scheduled to join us
for a bit. It's the MandyConnell Postgame Show. At the top of
the hour three o'clock. I thinkshe's got to be out by three point
fifteen if form holds from yesterday.I want to go back to this exchange.
(13:30):
There's so much I need to getto. I really would need a
four hour show with everything I've gotloaded here. But here's Scott Jennings once
again with Kate Bettingfield, the formercomms director communications director for Joe Biden,
without using language that incites people. And I think if we don't hang on,
and I think if we can't havean honest conversation about that for the
(13:52):
next three and a half months, then we're going to wake up in November
in a country we don't ret tellyou. One way we can have an
honest conversation about it by having anhonest conversation about it. Because the bloodbath,
the dictator, so much of whatthe Biden campaign says about Donald Trump
is just these are cheap fakes. It's not real. He's right, Kate
(14:15):
Bettingfield, you also heard Van Jones. They're wrong. I think they're intentionally
wrong, or they're stupid, orthey're manipulative. They could be all three
of those things. But here's JoeBiden last night with Lester Holt along these
lines. Just perpetuating the lies. This is what Scott Jennings was criticizing about
Joe Biden. But have you takena step back and done a little soul
searching on things that you may havesaid that could incite people who are not
(14:41):
balanced? Well, I don't think. Look, how do you talk about
the threat to democracy which is real? No, when the president says things
like he says, he's just notsaying him he's a man, says somebody.
Look, I'm not engaged in thatrhetoric. Oh now, my opponents
(15:05):
engaged that rhetoric. He talks abouta bloodbath if he loses, talking about
how he's gonna forgive all the actuallyfor I guess suspend the sentences of all
those who were arrested and sentenced togo to jail because of what happened is
in the Capitol. I'm going tostop that right there. Okay, First
of all, the bloodbath hoax. You know how I debunked the whole Charlottesville
(15:28):
crap point by point, piece bypiece, word by word that Donald Trump
never said there were good people onboth sides, including neo Nazis and white
supremacists. He separated them. Hesaid they should be denounced and condemned completely,
and we played that sound for youon these airwaves. Here is the
total context of the bloodbath comment thatthe left keeps going to. The entire
(15:52):
thing. Mexico has taken over aperiod of thirty years, thirty four percent
of the automobile menu factoring business inour country. Think of it went to
Mexico. China now is building acouple of massive plants where they're going to
build the cars in Mexico, andthink they think that they're going to sell
those cars into the United States withno tax at the border. Let me
(16:15):
tell you something to China. Ifyou're listening, Presidency and you and I
are friends, but he understands theway ideal those big monster car manufacturing plants
that you're building in Mexico right now, and you think you're going to get
that, you're going to not hireAmericans and you're going to sell the cars
as now, we're going to puta one hundred percent twer for in every
(16:37):
single car that comes across the line, and you're not going to be able
to sell those cars if I getelected. Now, if I don't get
elected, it's going to be ablood bath for the whole that's going to
be the least of it. It'sgoing to be a blood bath for the
country. That'll be the least ofit. But they're not going to sell
those cars. They're building massive factories. What Scott Jennings should do next is
(16:59):
go to the producers CNN and demandthat they play the clip that I just
played and insist that Kate Benningfield andVan Jones sit their asses down and listen
to the whole thing, and thentell us that Donald Trump said there'd be
a blood bath like in the streets, which is what they mean if he
wins b to the s now.As for the dictator hoax, here is
(17:23):
the comment that that stemmed from Itwas a joke with Sean Hannity. Under
no circumstances you are promising America tonight. You would never abuse power as retribution
against anybody except the day one, except that he's going crazy, except the
day one. Meaning I want toclose the border and I want to drill.
(17:45):
That's not all that's real, that'snot that's not retribution. I'm gonna
be. I'm gonna be. Youknow, he keeps I love this guy.
He says, you're not going tobe a dictator, are you.
I said no, no, noother than day one on the border and
with drilling, drilling, billing, after that, I'm not a DA.
Part of the problem there was SeanHannity wouldn't shut the f up. He
(18:11):
kept interrupting Donald Trump, and atthat very end, that's a very key
part of the quote, Sean Hannity, an idiot interrupted Trump, and with
drilling, drilling, brilling, afterthat, I'm not a d After that,
I'm not a dictator. I'll bea dictator on day one, one
day only to Clarence say, Okay, we're gonna drill, baby, drill,
(18:32):
am I gonna close the border. That's it. Kennedy, shut up.
If you would have gotten out ofthe way, let that quote breathe,
then none of this maybe would havebeen perpetuated to the degree that it
was, but they probably would haverun with it anyway. Chermie Sangenberger joins
me. Next, it's kind anarticle in that Denver Gazette about a millennial
(18:52):
jd vance on the ticket with Trumpon six thirty k hounds air conditioning.
You need it now, summer heatingup one hundred degree temperatures this weekend.
You've got storms, you got everythingelse. Spot let's turn to Master Services.
You give them a call seven totwo oh four to thirty four thirty
four ohs six, and the odysseybegins there and they take you through it
(19:18):
every step of the way. Sevento two oh four thirty four thirty four
oh six. Finally, a plumbingand HVAC company focused on service. They'll
come on out. They'll give youa free estimate. If you've got a
first estimate, they'll come on out. They'll give you a second opinion and
a better price. The guaranteed lowestprice in a residential unit you can get
under three thousand dollars fully installed. That's the starting point. They'll have to
(19:41):
come on out and tell you whatit's going to cost. But they're going
to be honest brokers about it.They're gonna shoot you straight. They're going
to be very direct, and youcan find out more online Master Router dot
Plumbing. That's Master Router dot Plumbingfor Master Services, and tell them Ryan
sent you. Because on Saturday, the devil came to Pennsylvania holding a rifle,
(20:04):
but an American lion got back upon his feet and her he yeah,
yes he did. Senator Tim Scottlast night at the RNC. I
(20:30):
thought he was phenomenal. He gota really robust reaction from the crowd,
mostly on that line, but throughouthis entire speech, and I kind of
got why he was in the runningto be Trump's running mate. All the
way up until about there was apoint where the finalists were kind of released,
and they were Doug Bergham, theywere Jdvans, they were Marco Rubio.
There was Glen Youngkin making a latecharge. I like Glen Youngkin,
(20:53):
and his speech was okay last night, but he just seemed like he was
artificially yelling or trying to project, whereas Senator Scott. I mean he was
like a Baptist Holy Roller preacher lastnight. I mean that in the best
way, and I mean that asa compliment. He had a congregation.
He was, I think feeling thespirit. And Shannon said something during the
(21:14):
break that I think applies is absolutelytrue. And you saw it on Donald
Trump's face when he entered the arenalast night, and he literally has become
the Man in the Arena. Andif you haven't read The Man in the
Arena by Theodore Roosevelt, I encourageyou to do so. But Donald Trump
(21:37):
summoned and channeled the best of himwithin him in a moment where his life
was on the line, and hebecame Teddy Roosevelt, who was shot himself
and continued to deliver a speech.Teddy Roosevelt became an iconic part of American
history in the early twentieth century. The Teddy Bear is named after him,
(22:02):
but the rough riders the whole imageof Theodore Roosevelt. I don't know that
Trump can quite ascend to that level. But he became an American folk hero
on Saturday. That's the simple factof the matter. I'm not sure if
it affected his choice for vice president, but the choice, what it reflects
(22:22):
is a confident candidate who believes he'sahead, who believes he's going to win,
and wanted somebody in the foxhole withhim who he knew he could trust,
somebody that would carry the banner forAmerica first, for that agenda,
for make America great again. Andon that note, I don't know that
Donald Trump could have made a betterpick. This was a supplemental pick.
(22:45):
This was not a complimentary pick.Complimentary pick would have been like Nicky Hayley,
like a Reagan Bush back in nineteeneighty complimentary pick might have been like
a Marco Rubio, might have evenbeen described as a compromise pick. But
this was not compromise, and thisreally reflected all that which we admire.
I think in the best ways aboutDonald Trump, that he is resolute,
(23:07):
that he is undeterred and unwavering. And I think that's what led to the
VP pick of JD Vance the firstmillennial on a ticket and joining us another
millennial. It's our favorite segment, jen X versus the millennials. Jimmy Sangenberger
joins us. You can follow himon X at Saying Center. That's Seng
Center. Jimmy, welcome back,Hey brother, how are you? I'm
(23:30):
doing all right? And for me, the more I think about the JD
fans pick, the more I understandit, and maybe the more that I
like it. How did you feelabout the pick? You know, I
can see some positives to it inthe sense that it brings some sort of
sense of youthful energy to the ticket, especially in this time where you've got
(23:52):
Biden. Of course, need Isay more about Joe Biden, But then
you've got Trump, who is upthere in age. Although he didn't really
show it on Saturday after being shotat like that was absolutely remarkable. But
when you add somebody who's on theyounger side onto your ticket like this,
that certainly gives a breath of freshair in a sense. And he's got
a very young family, three kidsaged six and under, and so that
(24:17):
I think adds some appeal. Andhe's got a powerful story, so the
politics from that side makes some sense. I agree with you, JD.
Vance doesn't add too much to theticket in the sense that there's not some
constituency he's bringing that's unique that Trumpdoesn't already tap into. He amplifies some
existing traits to Trump. Where I'mconcerned about is on some policy issues,
(24:41):
such as a lot of issues ofregulation, like on banking and other areas
where he's aligned with Elizabeth Warren. In fact, a lot of conservatives and
libertarians have been saying he's sort ofa right wing Elizabeth Warren, and I
don't know how accurate that is,but there are some there's some cause for
that. And then I'm a bigfree trade guy. Yeah, I think
he goes even further on the tradeissues than Trump in some respects. So
(25:03):
I've got some concerns on policy thereand on some foreign it fairs issues,
but certainly shows confidence in Trump inhimself. As you were just saying,
I agree with you there, right, Jimmy and Jade Vance already said in
a very detailed interview with Sean Hannitylast night that he understands as the vice
president on the ticket, he's notthe one setting policy or dictating the terms.
(25:26):
That's Donald Trump, and he's thereto be a good soldier and to
carry forward what Donald Trump's agenda is. And I liked hearing that from him.
It kind of leads into the articlethat you've written. Of course.
Jimmy is a columnist for the DenverGazette and it's entitled lower the temp in
Our Country and our Communities. Jimmy, no doubt the assassination attempt against Donald
Trump helped motivate you to write thispiece. But what were you thinking about
(25:48):
as you went into this, andwhat are your observations about the temperature politically
in our country right now? Yeah, and our country and in our own
state. I mean, I thinka lot of this was a pit of
my by the reaction of the nowinfamous state representative Steven Woodrow of Denver,
who of course said, last thingwe need is sympathy for the devil.
(26:10):
But here we are less than halfan hour after the assassination attempt took place,
which is just absolutely abominable. Andthere's a reason why he ended up
taking down his account on x becauseit was beyond the paaloe. I mean,
we're seeing that same kind of thingnow. Jack Black, one of
his bandmates in Tenacious D, yesterdaytalked about how sad he was or bad
(26:33):
it was, and this is outa performance that the shooter missed, don't
miss next time. And then nowJack Black saying We're canceling all of our
shows. I'm going on a creativehiatus. This is intolerable. It's something
quite extraordinary to see that in thismoment. But then I juxtaposed it here
in my piece Ryan's with something.Last week, former Denver school board member
(26:57):
Tay Anderson, who used to beknown for showing up at protests or counter
protests with a bullhorn. The bullhornis back, and he did so last
week along with the group of protestersthat shut down a town hall held by
two Aurora City council members, StephanieHancocky and Dustin Zavonik, and it was
(27:19):
all over the shooting death of aunarmed black man. Long story there we
could get into if we need to. Kylin Lewis back in May, and
they wanted this apology, all thesethings, and they literally shut down this
meeting that had a lot of elderlypeople who Stephanie Hancock told me how concerned
she was for the audience there withthis group coming and just shutting things down
(27:45):
with a bullfor on these chants andtotally unexpectedly. So there's a lot going
on with this temperature issue, especiallyI would say on the left, contrary
to the media narrative, that needsto be brought down and locally. Final
question, Jimmy, and that's aboutThursday night. Talking about temperature. It
seems like Donald Trump has had anepiphany, maybe an awakening. Shannon has
(28:10):
put it that he might be bornagain, that he feels he was spared
that but for maybe an act ofGod he turned his head that he's still
alive, that he should be dead. I mean, this could be a
very different Donald Trump that we seeon Thursday Night. Are you hopeful for
that? I am a little bit. I think there are some basic instincts
that he has. But the factthat he said I cost out my original
(28:33):
speech. I'm going with unity,a much more unifying message I think does
send a big signal. So that'ssomething close that we should be closely watching.
The other thing Ryan, I haveto say is we need to watch
if this means, with the pickof jd Vance, that you gen xers
are never going to catch your shotsthe presidency because imagine Advance comes the president
(28:57):
after Trump for eight years. Wow, key, you got some gen xers
who can still be around kicking andgoing to run for office. But I
don't know, I mean, thinkabout it. For decades, it was
all about the boomers. Then nextthing you knew, the millennials were creeping
in coming of age. Now it'sabout gen Z. Will you guys ever
get a shot? Ryan Well leftout and overlooked. Let me tell you
(29:21):
that is the very definition of genX. So it wouldn't surprise me.
But we'll see how it unfolds. You can read his article lower the Temp
in our country and our communities JimmySangenberger for the Denver Gazette. Jimmy always
appreciate your time. Thank you somuch and enjoy the rest of the convention.
Thanks brother, you too. Allright, we'll take this time out
now. He mentioned the Tenacious Dfallout. I want to get into the
(29:42):
details of that when we come back, because I'm a very big fan of
that band and of Jack Black inparticular. But I was devastated and disappointed
beyond words with what happened on astage in Australia after the Trump assassination.
A temp will have that we comeback rounding out our number one after this.
On six point thirty k howls camedoun this Trump next time? Okay.
(30:26):
That was from a concert in Australiaby Tenacious D. The two members
of that band are Jack Black andKyle Gass, and I have been a
fan of theirs going back about twentyfive years. They had a limited edition
series on HBO that was hilarious. They had a CD that was incredible that
(30:48):
came out a little over twenty yearsago. I bought it. They had
a movie called The Pick of Destinywhich I saw, and Shannon just sent
me a photo of him with thesetwo. I mean, they're hilarious,
they're irreverent. They make fun ofthe whole notion of songwriting and being in
a band and breaking up and gettingback together, and where does the inspirato
(31:10):
for songwriting come from. I lovethese guys, and I don't know that
they realized. Like we talked aboutBilly Joel yesterday when Kelly and I were
there and Mandy was there with Chuck, Billy Joel understands, I hope,
and I think that a lot ofhis fan base are Trump's supporters a lot,

fan base are I am, andI don't think I'm alone. So when
you say something like that, theyhave a celebration for Kyle on stage.
It's his birthday. They present himwith the cake. Jack Black tells him
to make a wish, and Kyle'swish is don't miss Trump next time.
And this was after the assassination attempton Saturday, And of course it's in
(31:53):
bad taste and it's horrible. Butfurther that point, I don't think it's
funny. I don't think it's funnyat all. And as somebody, again
a big fan of them, Iam. I expressed my disappointment in a
tweet. I called out Jack BlackI'm not saying he read my tweet and
reacted to it, but he didreact, and he didn't react on the

stage that night. He might havebeen surprised, and that's what he says.
In this statement from his Instagram account, Jack Black says, quote,
I was blindsided by what was saidat the show on Sunday. I would
never condone hate speech or encourage politicalviolence in any form. After much reflection,
I no longer feel it is appropriateto continue the Tenacious dtour and all
(32:37):
future creative plans are on hold.I am grateful to the fans for their
support and understanding. Sounds to melike not only is he distancing himself from
Kyle's comment, he's distancing himself fromKyle period that this may have broken up
the two of them and the band, And I would understand if I'm Jack
Black just thinking left brain, youdon't want to be any part of this.
(33:00):
It's toxic, it's horrible, it'spoison and Kyle put himself in that
position, him and him alone. And this is from Kyle Gas in his
Instagram account, quote, the lineI improvised on stage Sunday night in Sydney
was highly inappropriate, dangerous, anda terrible mistake. I don't condone violence
(33:22):
of any kind in any form againstanyone. What happened was a tragedy,
and I'm incredibly sorry for my severelack of judgment. I profoundly apologize to
those I've let down and truly regretany pain I've caused. I question to
you in the listening audience. Youmight not be as big a fans of
the d as Shannon and I are, But should we accept these apologies,
(33:47):
explanations, clarifications or is it justmopping up after the fact and they're only
doing it because of the backlash.I struggle with this. I'm really in
the middle. I want to bea forgiving person. I want to extend
grace to people that ask for it. If it's a true and sincere apology,
then yeah, I want to acceptit. But is he really sorry
(34:08):
or is he sorry that he saidsomething that got himself in hot water and
broke up the band and ended theirtour. Think about all the money they're
losing because he said such a stupidthing at the worst possible moment. And
this is going to go into ourtwo about liberals just spouting things off they
don't even think anymore. They justthink this is funny, and this is
(34:30):
the little bubble they live in,and the people that like them, they're
gonna go ha ha ha, andthey'll go to all the same parties and
they walk amongst the muppety MUCKs inHollywood, which coincidentally, in that song
you just heard WonderBoy by Tenacious D, one of the original lyrics and the
initial lyrics, and it is Iabove the mucky muck castle made of clouds.
(34:52):
This its one de boy sit thing, you know, so proudly say
I love these guys. I wantto love these guys. Guys, let
me love you. Why do youmake it impossible to love you when you
say crap like this? Mandy ConnellLie from the Republican National Convention of Milwaukee.
