“Cadavere squisito” è un romanzo horror- distopico che insieme a "Di uomini e bestie", di cui ti ho parlato in una recente puntata del podcast, può essere ricondotto a una nuova ondata di letteratura sudamericana eco-horror, eco-thriller che critica un modello economico: il capitalismo.
Si tratta quindi di un romanzo che non solo denuncia in maniera molto chiara lo sfruttamento degli animali ma trova nel mattatoio e nella figura di un protagonista macellaio, la perfetta metafora per affrontare tanti altri temi come il razzismo, l’ineguaglianza sociale, lo sfruttamento sessuale, lo schiavismo.
È un romanzo in cui la carne non è solo la carne, ma simboleggia tante cose.
