Speaker 1 (00:06):
Welcome everybody. It's swole cinema. I'm Ryan, I'm Mark, and
we're back better than ever. Actually, as to say, oh
and we're sore, but no, that was two weeks ago
for worlds Strongest Bro. So I'm actually feeling pretty good.
I still have a bruise, Mark. Oh, I got to
I had to two really big ones. Yeah, goddamn keg
(00:26):
keg Yeah, and I wasn't. I also thought the uh
so the World's Strongest bro. One of the advents was,
you know, trying to lift the keg to your shoulder.
Uh and for the really amateur strong man, uh like
Ryan and Nash lifting three kegs to your shoulder.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
But I also feel like that aluminum sometimes catches your skin. Yeah,
and the bruises are also from it, like your skin not.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
It's just like you're sticky by that time. Yeah oh yeah, yeah.
It was a couple of sandbags if you wanted to
do that. But there was three keggs. Is one started
a regular keg waited one sixty five and two twenty,
then two fifty, and that fucking two fifty just would
not get off my chest. I could not get at
that extra couple of inches to get up there. But yeah,
I had a big mark on my leg where I
lapped it to get it to your chest, and then
(01:14):
a big, big mark on my shoulder, and it was like, yeah,
this is probably the worst year I've looked. After the
world a strong, I have a big I had a
big cut on the top of my shoulder where it
was on the where was the kegs were laying on
my on that belone and there. I was like, this
is the word. I didn't feel bad. I wasn't that sore,
but I was like, I look worse than I've ever
come out of wards stongs. Bro. I was sore, but
not like in an injured way, like I could feel
(01:37):
like everything I lifted.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah, I could feel my muscles were like yeah, we
did something. Yeah, and you ran my lap area because
you get the keg up to your lap and try
to reposition your hands and kind of give that boost
up to your shoulder. So I think that heavy keg
just landing on your lap. Because I gave it like
four or five tries full disclosure listeners, I couldn't get
(01:58):
the kegs in my shoulder the year. Last year, Ryan's
wife was going to give it to me. I still
didn't think I had it, but she thought I did.
Sometimes don't give up. He fighting in the end, no
matter what do you think, wait till the referee says
down this year, but I did try. But like you said,
I wasn't training all year to put grab a keg
(02:21):
and hoist it to my shoulder.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
But I still felt like I gave it a good run,
not even training with it. Yeah, even our buddy Dave
came out. He doesn't exercise like that at all and
still did a few things. Yes, I was proud of Dave.
He hurt his back. Well he I mean we were
pushing a pushing a pickup for like fifty yards or
however many yards twenty five I don't know, but he
(02:46):
fell Apparently I didn't realize that I was in the seat,
just making sure we you know, it wasn't gear and everything.
But uh, that one sucked because it was wet. It
was great like it was. It wasn't a tight surface.
So like props to Dave man I was. I was
impressed with Dave.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
We moved it up, yeah, first position, like there was
no footing. It was mud, so we had to move
it up a couple of feet to solid McAdam. Yeah,
Dave did great. He pushed it, fell down, got back up,
kept pushing, kept pushing it. He said he just felt
like so Dave got some weight behind him.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
He felt like once he got at a certain angle
where you know, you know, you know, like a certain
lower position whatever, then he could he felt like, oh wait,
this is it's moving, this is the right angle.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Keep pushing, keep pushing. And I was like, damn, I
got no video of you doing this.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
I'm so sorry. This was the worst nobody got anybody.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
I was just in the moment, like I was cheering
him on, ran out to you know, say stop, you know.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Keep going, Dave. You only got five feet. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
I didn't even think about it, pulling my camera out.
And then Dave got tried to do some video, but
I think he was so exhausted it was like upside
down or far away, like okay, yeah, no video, So
there'd be no video this year.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
I think I got one video of Alex l doing
the deadlift press medley. That was it. That's the only
one I got.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Well, the first event, it was like a dead lift,
then pick a whiskey barrel on your shoulder, another deadlift,
and get a bigger whiskey barrel.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
To your shoulder. I was press. You had to press
that one, yeah, press it overhead press. Yeah. The deadlift
part was easy. Yeah, it was a frame deadlift. I
don't have much was on it.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
For us non ams shron Man heavy enough, but the
barrels themselves not that heavy, but awkward.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Oh, a fifty one, was a thirty one, was a
fifty five. So then we weighed the fifty five. Is
it's one hundred and eight pounds, so it wasn't a
lot of weight. It's just awkward and if you don't
overhead press, like it is a lot of weight, like
you don't think it is, but one hundred and eight
pounds when you don't overhead press is a solid weight,
and especially at that odd, weird grip of a fifty
five gallon barrel.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah, so I got the smaller one. I'm still kind
of hard because getting the grip the small handholds. Yeah,
we're trying to figure out how to get to your
shoulder and then press it over ahead that big one.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
I tried, but it's that big one owned just about everybody.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, it's just figuring out what to do. Yeah, then
we pushed the truck and then the rain stopped. Sky's
got better. We headed back to the grass in the yard,
yeah for more overhead pressing and shit, well that.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Was the Then we did the keg to shoulder and
that truck just it took everything I had out of me.
Like I know I could have gotten that two fifty
keg on a normal day and that I was exhausted. Yeah,
I guess the truck should have been last. I know.
It's one of those things where uh like this was
the one. This was the one. And I'm not making
excusesh Nash beat my asses here and it's about fucking
(05:52):
time someone did. But like we got back over there,
it was it was me because you know, I was
trying to take you as trying to be reugh time
everything then and moving and I was stressed out about
moving anything around like the distillery and back and we
got back over to that to my house to do
the the deadlift hold in the uh and the keg
(06:12):
to shoulder. I was fucking exhausted already. That truck just
pulled everything I had out because the first event, I
couldn't believe it. I beaten Nash like over anything overhead
press and deadlift like Nash would fucking crush me. And
I beat him, and I was like, Okay, maybe I
have a chances here, because well you.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Had you had to move the truck back for you
back into the mud. Well like, well you got a couple.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Of extra feet. There's no fun, Storry. He would have
ever let that go. There's no way.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
He probably wanted made it all money's big ass digging
in there.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Oh yeah, he put ruts in it. It was, there
was nothing, it was. It was terrible. But yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
In fact, when I tried from that same spot, it
just couldn't get zero traction, so I had to move
it up.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yeah, and we see oh yeah. Then the other one
was the Bulgarian deadlf. We still two kegs.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Ukrainian dead Ukrainian dead lift. That was fun, but uh,
everybody was just picking random weights at first. Oh yeah,
trying to figure it out, which was still cool. It
was a good photo op standing on the top of kegs.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
This was one of those. Uh. It was This year
in itself was less competent, more just like me and
Nash versus each other and everybody else's have a good time,
And that was fine. It was great. It's actually more
fun that way, like not really worrying about it, just
every hey, let's go lift some heavy shit. So but uh,
that was the one that was probably the most worried
(07:31):
about event that ever happened at World Strongest Bro. Yeah,
everybody was so fucking scared to stand on top of
two kegs, even though I was I had done it.
I jumped out there.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
It was so good.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Those kids man, all worried. I was like, and I
even told him, I was like, all the stupid shit
we've done it World strong As Bro. You guys are
worried about standing on a keg with a rubber plate
on top that's not going to move, and all.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
The stupid shit I did when I was your age.
This was not one of come on relax.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Yeah, it was a good fucking time man. Now.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
So World strongs Bro also includes drinking events. I would
like to tell everybody I won it this year.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
I won it. It was like you had for time.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
You had to chuck, get a full beer poured in
two cups, chuck chuck, chug one cup and then flip
three cups over chug the other half, and then beer pong,
get two balls in.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yep, I did not win that at all. It didn't
like what thirty two seconds, Yeah, it's like a minute,
I thought.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
When one of the young young Lands did it in
thirty seven thirty seven, I was like shit, yeah, oh yeah,
I was pulled out the win. So I stopped even
trying after that.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
I was like, it's all downhill from here, bitches. Oh
and you hurt your peck. I think it was this
more cramp. It was like a strain cramp. It was fine,
like okay, yeah, oh yeah, just coming off on that
whole us, I knew I just wanted to try to
get one more win and for the events, Nash had
pretty much beat me, and but I wouldn't try to
win that one. And yeah, it just like it locked up.
(09:16):
It was it was it was one of those left
to go and it was just kind of cramp strain,
like just like I said. By the by the next
day it was fine and he's trying like we shouldn't
do anything. I was like, you think I'm gonna fucking
let this stop me? Look, fuck no, if everybody wants
to do another event, let's go. Ye twenty twenty five
World's Strongest bro in the books. I had a really
good time. It was more casual.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Yeah, but I feel like the rain kind of split
it up right and kind of made it stressful just
to figure out everybody's standing around. But we can't do
anything in the yard.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Right at this point, I'm kind of like, can someone
else hosted a year? Like I'm good? It was? Yeah,
you're not giving up?
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Is there a twenty twenty six World Strongest bro?
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Well that's what I'm saying, Like anybody else, I'm good
for someone else to host it.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
I can host it.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
It's yeah. It's just one of those like I'm if
no one else does it, I'll do it again next
year because I enjoy having everybody over and everything. But
it's a lot of work. It's just yeah, it's coming
up with everything moving everything like, it's it's a lot.
Cookout was good, right, That's the best thing we've added
was food afterward.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Well, we've got to have one because Dave said he's
gonna like work towards doing it next year.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
All right.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
This year he just thought he'd see, like what can
I do? And I did great?
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, so I encourage him and his back held up
pretty good. Right.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
That just takes a little time. His back, just was like,
what are you doing right here? I've never done this before.
Excuse me, sir, what's happening?
Speaker 1 (10:42):
All right? Anyway, that's what we did a few weeks ago,
just to see how strong we are.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
We still got it. Just in case you wondered.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Putting the swollen stn't come at us, Yeah, you can
come at me, bro, what's up? We're gonna talk about
Ryan's pick lyon Hard with Jean Claude. And I texted
you when I was watching it, going like, man, we
should have done a watch along with this, oh boy,
because there's no way I'm going to remember everything when
I was watching it, going this is absurd. It was,
(11:13):
it was everything. I was so fucking glad I picked it.
While I was watching it. It's not good. Obviously it's
not good, but it's like Gritton nineties bad good, so
bad good, Like yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
When I was watching this, I was laughing thinking the
same thing, like too, man, we're not watching it so.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
I could like look at you and like what the
fuck right? Oh yeah, there's so many things. I'm not
gonna remember that. And I like I was looking at
reviews and like people were like giving it pretty high
ratis really and I was just kind of like in
the camp of like this is really bad, right, bad? Yeah,
like plot wise, bad, acting bad, right.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
I have Some people are well, some people on IMDb
like this is one of his best movies.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
I'm like, shit, did I not get in Trip Over
that I miss? Yeah? I mean like even like some
of the choreography for the fight scenes was not good,
like so many like just like you know, like back
alley roundhouse fights are like that from guys that supposed
to knew how to fight, just like over the top
of the head, you know, so they could easily count
like it was like they'd even try sometimes to make.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Them in the dialogue how about the one guy, how
about I know what you're gonna say? The one guy
that looked at Van Dam I don't know if I
should fight you or fuck you?
Speaker 1 (12:33):
That whole scene. So the so, uh, the story is well,
the first opening scene is just fucking insane, Like what
the fuck? So would they like to do it on fire? Right? Yeah?
Sean Claude's brother is just into drugs, tries to buy
drugs with eight people around him, which is never a
good idea. Like you don't go by yourself in my head.
I don't know. I've never really done any hard drugs,
(12:56):
but I would never go by even even like some
dirt weed if there's eight people around me. Yeah, even
if it's dirt, we not gonna like try it. And
is like this sucks. I'm going to keep that to
myself and walk away. But they're like, hey, this is
like just sugar, yeah, just Dalsonman guests. There was no
real reason. It was just there were there was like
eight guys standing there selling coke.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
It's the epitome of a plot device, like how do
we get Sean Claude van Dam over to la right,
just we're over to America? Because it gets the New York.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
First, very over the top way like attention grabbing, like
a holy shit way too, not just.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Because the guy got little on fire turns out to
be uh van Dam's brother. Yeah, hence kick off the plot.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Yeah, and he's like it's some like some ten by
ten deployment for the French Foreign Legion of the Desert
doing god knows what.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Yeah, it didn't look like anything was happening at that outpost. No,
he was like station in Africa somewhere.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Oh, is that where it was. Yeah, I think I
read that. I was gonna look up, like, what is
you know, the French Foreign Legion. What is this?
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Because I at some point, uh in the movie they
mentioned about his brother was always in the drugs, but
that Leon took the blame for something and then I
that somehow ended up in the French Foreigner. He was like,
oh wait, instead in lieu of going to jail, did
you join me? That was legion?
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Because that that was like whenever he finally like is
able to get back to America, he says to his
his sister in law, I have a whole.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Bunch of things discussed about the sister in law, but yeah,
she goes, he wasn't in drugs until you made him
deliver that package.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
And he's like I told him that was my fault
and blah blah blah. And I'm like, wait a minute,
so you're a legit, saying that the main character was
a piece of shit that dealt drugs at some point, right, like.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Like, I don't I thought it was his brother had
it was the problem and Leon took the Oh okay,
he took that and then ended up in the French
Foreign Legion, right, That's why I was like, oh wait,
so it was this you had to go do this
instead of serve time in prison.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
That makes more confused, Yeah, I was. Yeah, I got
confused because I was like, yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
I think it was his brother always had a drug problem,
and this is how Leon came out of Jay.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Right. He was trying to protect him by keep him
out of trouble by saying, oh no, it's my fault.
All right, all right, yeah it was it was That's
how I interpreted. But hey, it makes way more sense movie, right,
you'll get a different idea. But he beats up Billy
Blanks to get out of this weird little outpost. Billy
he's in the movie. I'm pretty sure that was the
only one. Oh ship, Yeah, obviously the black guy him, yeah,
(15:36):
let's go. But yes, it was those couple of guys.
He just beats up and then gets a jeep goes
blaring into the desert. It must have taken to his
other guys a half an hour to find another jeep
and get guns and get in that jeep, because I
think if you're in the desert like that far you
could still kind of see some dust in there. Like
they come back like hours later to the head guy
like there was no trace of him, like just like
(16:00):
it was such a table between like there's no trace
of him.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Yeah, but he asked he wants to get to America
because his brother was in the hospital screaming his name.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Yeah. They didn't even tell him that. His sister in
law called man like the French Foreign Legions is not fun. Huh.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
They were not let him out and they.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
Were being dicks to him.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
They got like, what he had six more months?
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Yeah yeah, yeah, he's like, don't make it six more
years or something. They put so much effort into getting
him back into the foreign legion for like a deserter, right,
Like so much money was spent trying to get this
one guy back. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Oh, and uh, you know, because he was in the overseas,
because he was in the French Foreign Leagues for summer reason.
The title of the movie over Seas is a Wall
because he went he did go a wall to go
help his brother. And then it's under another name in
another country and I forget.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
It now Leon. I saw Leon in some country I
don't know. Instead of L y o N like his
name in the movie, it was L e O N
Leon yeah, his name is Leon.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
But anyway, he gets to New York.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
Again, another movie with the Twin Towers. Boom, back to back, boom.
Yeah that's how you knew was New York. They show boom,
he looks off the Twin Towers. Ye never forget, but yeah,
yeah he looked. I love that. They're like he was.
He was stoking cole on a what seems like the
(17:22):
tiniest freighter of all time. But yeah, they like don't
go above deck. And he was like, is this you
said this is going to l A And he's like,
this is New York. Maybe that I don't know, maybe
that was really blanks.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Well yeah, because then he's gonna need some money to
get from New York to la.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Plot thickens and he meets Joshua, who.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
A kind of interesting because when he meets Joshua, he
starts making some money, right oh yeah, and he uh
if people could even hear your ring tone, here.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Comes the money. Yeah, so he uh yeah, I love that.
He like that's the first thing he like. He's just
immediately like just starts walking through like the homeless section
of New York. I don't know if there's a section,
I have no idea. I've never really been to New York,
but either way, he's walking down like a very homeless
part of New York and there's an underpath or overpass,
(18:16):
so he walked down. There's like a whole big crowd
and it's the street fights. Like I was like this
bum fights or whatever, but you saw it was like
all these blue collar guys fighting each other and he
signs up to fight and against that. It was great
because it's perfect. He signed like no one wants to
fight here, steps up John Claude and then this giant
(18:37):
dude comes out of the crowd like Alph like doesn't
say anything, but you know, like, oh shit, it's that guy.
Everybody knew who he was. It's Sydney or whether his
name was Yeah, I needless to say Van dam Wins.
Of course I didn't. I don't eve think he got
hit once, did he? No? That's and which that's the
way it should be, because he's They don't really give
(18:59):
a background know why he's such a good fighter, but
he is.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Oh and it's also where he gets his name Livehart, right,
because the guy was like, what's your name Leon?
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Leon? Yeah, Joshua.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
He's like, there's lots of stupid lion, lion everybody.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
King of the jungle. He played a great role, you know, yeah,
well always like because as the movie goes, like there's
one point where Van Damn, I don't know how with
the time, how.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Much time is supposed to have passed, but he was
one more fight and he's out and he wants to
to you come live with us, your family. Now, how
long have you guys been hanging out? I mean you
met him at an underpass, but now you're calling him.
Now you're doing some Vin Diesel ship where you're like
your family.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
You met him doing bum fights and now he's family. Yeah,
oh yeah, like what that was? Like? Yeah, he wins
that fight and then they what he wants some solid
money for? Like what was that? Like? I don't know,
I forget how much it was, but there's a solid
amount of money he wanted for just beating that dude.
(20:04):
I guess maybe because he was such an underdog and
everybody was betting at the other guy. Yep, but be
solid money that they're bumming around then and and you
don't you don't really even know it. But Joshua apparently
was the same like the same guy. He was a fighter,
got in that ring. He so he knew all the fighting, right.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
His leg was messed up, as we we learned later
that's how his need or whatever.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
Was, which I'd like to know what got cut because
at that point there at one point, you know, he
goes and uh has his They get out of they
take that cab somewhere. They get out of the cab
and he's like, I don't need you, I'll get to
La whatever. Well, and he was, oh, well, there's a phone,
we'll go use the phone. I don't know what they
were going to, who they were gonna call, but they
(20:47):
walk over there and there's like ten dudes come out
of the woodwork, like you want to use our phone? Yeah,
fucking pay for it, blah blah blah. And and I
was surprised because Joshua grabs the leader like Van Dam
takes out literally every other guy but one. Yep, Joshua
grabs the but he grabs the main dude and starts
taking him to town. I was like, all right, so
he's got some chops, all right, what the fuck?
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Well, because we find out he fought in this underground
yeah thing before.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
But that's the thing. He's like you didn't know any
of that until right at the very end, yeah plot, yeah, yeah, well.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
He had now he's so yeah, so Joshua knows some people.
He gets him, uh, introduced to Cynthia, who runs an
underground fighting ring.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
And kicks off again.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
His brother's in the hospital dying, and we have time
to raise money by fighting an underground ring, right well
for a bit, mind you. So spoiler when he does
make it la, his brother's dead, like, yeah, you've been
like fighting for months.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Well it was it was what like two weeks since
she called when he first happened to get the letter,
but also didn't she yell in the hospital that he
has no other family, and then she decided like, ah,
maybe I'll find his brother that took the fall for
he moves in now serving in the French Born Leader.
But she called the Outpost. They never told him, so
(22:09):
she sent a letter and it was two weeks after
she called, So he was already two weeks behind eight
ball from his brother who was burned head to toe. Yeah,
severely burned. It smells like almonds. Like that was some
bad shit, Like he was engulfed in flames and that
was that was some hardcore makeup they had on him
for for that, like seeing whenever he's in the hospital. Yeah,
(22:32):
I was like that, dude, there's no way he's yelling Leon.
He is like he's in a medically induced coma if
he's even alive, because he was like they made him
fucked up? Yes, so, uh so then what's the next
fight with Cynthia? Is that?
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (22:51):
No, I forgot. The first fight was they went up
parking lot and that was that fucking dude and his
leather fucking vests. Right, he said, dude fighting a lother vest.
It was so good. He's the one who made the
comment about flash fight. You were a fuck you. I'm like,
I'm sure in the writing room sounded great. Yeah, sounded great.
Oh yeah, but it's.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Kind of like, was that the quippie dialogue you have
before your your barre knuncle fighting somebody?
Speaker 1 (23:18):
The guy in that writing room fucking loved Roadhouse? Oh
was that kind of similatory? Well yeah, he's like I
used to fuck guys like that person, like, you.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Need my own line like that.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Did you ever watch Uh there's a small like indie
ish or comedy with already lyon called Beer League. It
was about beer League softball. Yeah, yeah, yeah, And at
one point, like there's this big rivalry between the teams
and the old guy that's the pitcher, Like he's like
books seventy eighty years old, and they're drawing at each
other and he's like, what do you who? You eyeballing whatever?
I used to fuck guys like you in prison, and
(23:54):
already's talking. He's like, yeah, so about that, He's like, wait,
the doctors say he used to fuck guys in prison.
Like that's why I was like, I don't want to
hear cute. I don't want to fight you were fuck
You're like that, No, you fight him, like there's all
these people.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Watching, yeah, and so oh yeah, I'm sure he was
trying to intimidate. Oh yeah, but it's like I mean, vandam.
Though he might have looked handsome to you, you can
clearly see he is a big dude.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Yeah he's Yeah, because that last guy, he like, like,
props to that dude for Mickey or whatever his name was.
Props that dude for fighting back to back, Like, I mean,
he didn't really face much opposition. It was a real
warm up. We beat the crap out of some dude
before that, and then gets right back in the ring
to fight this guy that he wants to fuck. Yep,
(24:40):
oh yeah, maybe you know, but it was like can
make it happen with Vandam, which is great because then
gentle then uh then Van Dam pulls a Johnny cage
on him, just tries to tries to like throw a
midkick or whatever to kick to the mid section, and
he grabs it, ducks down and boom right in the nuts.
Game over. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
Well, you know what, now I think about it, that
line led into that punch.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
Yeah, he ain't anything after this shot to your dick,
you should have tried to fight me. Yeah, and then
that's that kicks off his I loved how at one point,
So that kicks off the like, oh, apparently this guy
was like a kind of a big deal in that circle.
Like didn't seem like it, but they vest. Yeah, he
(25:27):
was kind of a no. One punch and one punch
the nuts. Well that was weird because this fight before
that too, he was beating the crap out of that
guy and what do you say, I'll see it for
lunch or something like that, and it gets behind him
and kicks him in the nuts to finish him, like
from behind me, Like there's so much nut punching this guy. Yeah, yeah,
(25:47):
he was living died by the sword, I guess. Yeah
that was like that was then that got it started.
Then he was he was in the in the thing
to make money with Cynthia, who was who wasn't attractive
but kind of attracted.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
She just had like a straight up resting bitch face
as they say, oh yeah, like you couldn't Like he
just had the look of don't trust me at all,
that would gamly screw you over right.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Maybe that's what they liked. The little bit of attractness
she had was like I'm attracted to that power or something.
I don't know. Maybe because she was trying to fuck
him the whole movie. Oh yeah, he wouldn't. He's a
fucking oak. I'm sure when he got to.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
His bedroom, Yeah what an oak? What an oak? When
I get to the point where I'm like, does he
want to fuck his brothers?
Speaker 1 (26:39):
What? Well? Wait, so so he did. He fought the
Scottish guy before he made it to l a right,
like that was his money man.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
For a second, you said fought right, yes, came out
came out a little beard. She said he fucked that
skyskuy before he.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
Went to l A. Right, so much fighting and fucking
in this movie five stars. Yeah, like so then he
like that's like it was kind of impromptu when he
fought lother vest. But then the Scottish guy was like
his first set up fight. Yeah, which starts the string
of some of the best fight venues of all time. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
I mean that that scene was kind of cool because
they roll in all cars roll in and make this
circle of the headlights. They fight in the middle. Uh,
he's got a skirt, he's got the kilt on.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
Oh, and then they smashed each other on cars. Might
be like, see, this is the problem. You shouldn't have
had your cars as the ring.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
Right when I'm lay in the head is like there's
some Cadillacs there, and I was like, I guess they
have the money. Supposedly there's the rich focks that are
runing this but uh but yeah, Like that fight in
itself was weird because every time someone seemed to have
the upper hand, immediately they were exhausted. Yeah, like wait,
you're the one that just punched him. Now all of
a sudden, you look punched drunk. What's going on this
(27:56):
guy's guy was kicking his ass. Oh yeah, solid, Like
I guess.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
He's like, you've moved up a level. It's not easy
as the you know was was it after.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
That he was like I got to move out of
this apartment. No, that was after that. Then when he
moved to LA, he's like, you gotta, I gotta move
out of this this penthouse and like a train like
put a rocky yeah right, And it didn't really they
just showed a couple of scenes where like with a
living like a with a crappy living room. They didn't
really show much more than except he was jogging like
Little Mac and Mike Tyson's punch up. Yeah. But then
(28:29):
I guess that's Yeah. Then he moves to l A
and finds his sister brother's dead. Yeah, because Cynthia has
a thing going on in LA, so she wants she
goes over to Yea keep him going, yeah and go
ahead no no the yeah, his tell me about the
big headed child's mom.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Well, the funny thing is the big headed child is
Ashley Johnson. It does like you know, cartoon voiceover work
is in critical role. Uh the hit YouTube, D and
D Live Place and Vox making a cartoon on Amazon.
So as soon as I saw her, I'm like, oh shit,
(29:08):
I never after that. I didn't realize how big her
head was, but she grew into.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
It, into it, like I saw pictures of her, like,
you can still say she's got a big head, but
she's still an attractive lady. It works, Yeah, I saw
as soon as I saw that, girls like oh, this
little freak. She was in multiple movies like that. She
just you know, she's very recognizable from that era of
(29:34):
movies as a kid. But to please tell me your
thoughts on her mom.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
Well, here here's the thing. It all builds up to,
like an ending scene. But she hates him, get out
of here, stay away from me.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
To give him some money first to help out, and.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Then he yeah, he devises a plan where he sets
up in an account where he's putting his fight money
in as Joshua show up like, oh, you know, insurance money,
and she's like, I don't even know.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Yeah, didn't question. I mean, I mean something like I
knew know anything about it, but didn't go like I mean,
I assumed it was a fucking solid amount of money
because she was it was like oh, ship like but
still like hating on him.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
But at the end uh, before the uh, it's almost
like jump into spoiler territory.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Well that's sae, we're jumping ahead.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
But I swear to God, when he had to go away,
when the foreign legion caught him, she she wanted to
kiss him.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Oh yeah. It was a very arline.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
WHOA where did this come from?
Speaker 1 (30:37):
And then then the guys like do you love her?
Speaker 2 (30:39):
And they let him go this maybe I maybe I misunderstood. No,
she was definitely and he he doesn't even thinking about him, like,
oh yeah, this is your brother's wife and you came
over here to help he died. Someone let him one
gas and you're like get ready? Are you getting ready
to go?
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Fuck her? It was it was the last second, like no,
let's cheek. It just seemed came out of nowhere, like
where she looked really interested making out with him. Oh yeah,
for sure.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
It's like I did not see that one coming.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
She's like, it's been a month, mom, what are you
and Uncle Lionheart up to? Uncle Leon Leon? What's great?
I mean, I knew that I've watched movie years ago,
and I knew was Lionheart and everything else. But I
swear to God when they when he first started saying
his name, I thought he was saying Neil, Neil ne
(31:33):
Leon What Neil? I don't remember being Neil. That'd be
a bad name of the movie. Neil Hart, Neil, Neil Hart,
get on.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
Your knees and beg for mercy the heart of a Neil.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Who doesn't. Should we take a break, Yeah, take a break.
We'll be right back. Neil. We're back.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Talking about uh the movie about Neil, Neil, Neil, the
French Neil, French Neil seriously fighting up to now the
guy is this a swimming pool guy?
Speaker 1 (32:09):
We're up.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Okay, here's the thing, so all the fight sees uh no, yeah,
we're talking about have like like like a video game
aspect where different backgrounds for every fighter. Right, So when
that's it's been happening, you know, the alley and somewhere
on the street, the parking garage, it just keeps moving up.
(32:35):
But the one in the swimming pool with like a
foot of water, right, but just down at the they
started up on a dryer spot.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
But I love that they wore singlets. They were like
what single not bathing suit, not like not swing trunks,
but singlets all of a sudden, they're wearing like and
they both had black singlets on. It made no sense.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
And the one guy comes like Tarzan's long hair.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
I felt like it was one of those things where
everybody but but Neil had a gimmick. You know, he
had leather vest guy like, because he looked like he
was like some like Jim Dude with his like gloves
and leather vest. And then you had Scottish guy who
comes out in his kilt and everything. And then you
had this guy who was borderline acting like tarse trying
to you felt like, yeah, felt really wanted to, yes,
(33:21):
very much. So yeah, Leon, he just was like a
jeans and a T shirt guy. Yeah, well, I mean
that was his his what his prison closed, ship closed?
I don't know, because he left. He left with his
UH legion foreign legion UH uniform. Then all of a sudden,
he's on a boat with a pair of pants and
a denim shirt.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
Yeah, you know, I probably hooked him up merchant Marine
kind of outfit or something.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Well, then I forgot you, and then then uh Cynthia
Burndall's clothes and body new ones.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Yeah, she really wanted him to.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
I wonder if that's why she met against him at
the end, because he wanted be her pet.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
Great. I don't it was one of those things where
she didn't know about his injury. So yeah, I don't
know why she was convinced that this other guy is
gonna beat him. Guess because he looked so good on film.
I don't know till yeh.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Yeah, I mean she needs to watch other movies like
blood Spot. We know the biggest guy, he's not gonna
beat fan damn.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
Duh. Yeah. The Sweetpool one was pretty funny in my opinion.
Well that was it was great too because he they
fight a little bit and he kicks him, kicks the
other guy into the into the water park in the
deep end a couple of times, and then he runs
down into like fight him, and he starts to throw
a kick, and I'm like, why would if you're gonna
throw kicks like you gonna have to go through the water,
ya doing. He easily catches the kick and then he
(34:43):
puts him.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Underwater, and I was like, why don't you stay up
in the dry spot right and make him He's gonna
come up, he's gonna be wet, slippy.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
Yeah, just so dumb that it was gonna look cool,
figure it out, Neil Neil Hart.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
And then and they're setting up like the big r
that's right.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
Yeah, No.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
I do love how he doesn't like being in the
lap of luxury. He even tells, you know her that
I'm not your pet, and he really needs to move
out because he just needs it gritty. If he's trading
a fight, he needs it gritty. Can I travel to Joshua?
I need you know, we're family now, so we got
(35:23):
to get an apartment together.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
I love that he made him move out of the pehouse,
the extra pehouse, you know.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Josh was like, come on, man gets a place like
basically right around.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
The corner from his from his sister in law.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Sister in law, so I mean, you know, straight up
a little bit stalking a little bit, a little bit
and speaking of stalking also or the French foreign legionnaire
sent to come bring him back, so they're like just
stalking around the corner of him, stalking around the corner.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
They have like they have the rent. That's why I
was like, it was so funny, where like, okay, you
have a deserter, and but the head of that little
outpost just took us so personally, yeah, like he went
to the you know, the ambassador or whatever, saying like,
we need to send people here, but we need to
get it. I know he's going to LA that's where.
And he's like, okay, well maybe we will get him,
(36:14):
maybe we won't. Like who fucking cares, it's not that
big a deal. He's like six months ago, right, and
he's like, okay, well, I want to say, how about
if I send these two guys. So these two just
runt an apartment across the street from from his sister
in law, right, and just you know, they're just on
a on a stakeout for weeks.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Months and even when they do get a chance to
chase him down, they're like suits and dress shoes. Oh yeah,
like not the ideal.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
What I love is whenever he gets his Like so
they see him one day because he's you know, I like,
if anybody else would see him, they'd be like, oh,
this guy's a child predator. Because he's looking at the
big headed girl with a hoodio and from behind broken
down RV or.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
Something for Ashley Johnson being called the big headed girl.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
He he's like looking at and he turns around. They're like, oh,
there is. And so they get him and they get
in this big fight and they throw him into like
the stairwell, like the outside wooden stairs of an apartment
or something. His legs hit the four by four posts.
It breaks instantly, but his ribs hurt instantly. His ribs
(37:19):
are injured from this fight with these two guys. And
uh and that's like that's like your last like very
tense plot device for like, oh, he's not just facing
this monster, he's also got a secret injury. He couldn't
even push the kids on the merry go round like
he's that hurt.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
Yeah, So the big the final fight for all the money.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
This is it?
Speaker 2 (37:46):
Uh fandamn, like listen to Joshua to bet all the
money on him.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
They will all get a place together, Joshua, his sister
in law and big headed girl child, one big happy family. Right.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
That's just like that's his exit strategy to this fight
ring right, Uh and Cynthia setting us up, they go
like some rich mansion rich guys.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
Man. I guess they convince them to vote or you know,
get convinced them that they want to.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
Pick Van dam right in a fight because she's gonna
put all our money on Attila.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Which I don't know why that's like consequential at all,
Like who they vote, who they put their money on,
you know, right, Like I guess if they let them
vote first, maybe the odds will get bigger or what. So.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
Yeah, she had a VHS tape of Attila fighting. We
kind of doctored the end where you can't see where
he murdered guy.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
They said he bodied eight guys, Like that's a lot
of guys his body counts kind of huh, you should
see him in bed.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Yeah, all these rich guys watch the fight and when
it gets crappy at the end, so they don't see
how he murdered people, they're like they're like, lyon heart's
got this guy, no problem. And then she feels like
really you don't know. But again, like you know, looking
at their their fight stats, like why would you put
(39:14):
all your money on at tell him? Why does he
look right like he's better? Yeah, we all, especially Joshua,
because he did he would you turn heel? Yeah, or
at least with the bet right.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
I mean, I'm the first time I ever watched I missed,
missed it. Then it was nice seeing it again because
I missed the part where like Van Dam's like warming
up in that like in the study or whatever it was,
the den like whatever it was looked like some of
this personal like little library or whatever in this house.
He's what kind of warming up and shit? And uh,
Joshua walks in. He goes, I took all my money
(39:51):
and placed that bet on myself. He's like, oh, I
like that confidence. Yeah, And I missed that part the
first time because I couldn't figre out, like why would
he still try to win if all the money was
on but no, But yeah, Joshua goes and ends up
putting all his money on Attila and he's like, but no,
I put all my money on me because you know,
I was paying off He was like three to one
or something like that. And he's like, and we'll all
(40:12):
go because your family, we'll all go get a house.
And then I met you two weeks ago. You've been
really good to me. You're my new brother. Would you
like to have sex with my sister in law? No,
because I will, but yeah, yeah it was it was
but yeah, he like the utility was like he was
(40:36):
a big fucking dude. And I always ill always remember
those fucking big ass mutton chops he had.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
Oh yeah, like and if all the location is a shot,
the fight seat shot fought at like this was like
so lacklustering.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Oh my god. Yeah, Like face was like a tennis court,
right or something. Right, this is the first time the
other fighter doesn't really have a gimmick. They're just in
like yeah, even like Ittilia's even like in dress shoes.
Oh yeah, Like maybe that was it. He's all business,
He's all all. I like it. I like it. He
should have a briefcase there with him. He loved his cat.
That's we know that he loved his cat. Love his cat. Well,
(41:10):
so like Doctor Evil with his white cat. Yeah, yeah,
so that that was the best point, like a great
part to us. He I love it.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
What's what's your fighting gimmick business?
Speaker 1 (41:22):
He gets off this plane, he has this k he's
cat and no arms stroking this cat, but he has
like there's like six of the dudes that get off
the plane first. I'm like, wait, are these bodyguards? Like
this dude's supposed to be a monster, he shouldn't need
a bodyguard. But these other three, like three or four
big dudes get off in front of him, and I
kind of stand around there walking him to places or.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
You know like U f C you need you know,
on your walkout, you got all your buddies behind you. Yeah,
hype many.
Speaker 1 (41:52):
Yeah, he and he I couldn't. It was it was
a NodD last fight. I mean it's like every fight like, oh,
they're good, gets a few strikes in, looks good, and
then something happens. Bad guy gets you know, gets the
edge and of course he hits him. I did love
the part where so the fighting and he's he's kind
(42:13):
of smacking a guy, you know till around till.
Speaker 2 (42:15):
This whole thing, like he lets the other person feel
like they're doing good, you're doing it.
Speaker 1 (42:20):
You play with them, Yeah, but you got that they
kind of let a little bit known like kind of
like oh until of like almost felt it. We could.
I don't know, maybe it was me where it almost
seemed like he acknowledged like, oh, this guy's were like legit,
like he wasn't the other guys that he did play
with him, But then he hits him with that body shot.
And I love that he just stopped and just like
(42:40):
I starts pointing Susanie, and he like stops and just
like smiles and starts pointing out.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
I was like, he's like, I know a week spot
right right, because yeah, he was definitely hitting him pretty hard.
I feel like he might have started respecting Van Damn,
but he kind of weak spot.
Speaker 1 (42:54):
Yeah, and it's it kind of reminded me of a
I don't know if anybody out there listen, watches UFC
or anything, but he's a goofball character. But Nate Diaz
fought a guy like he was Leon Edwards, I think,
and he was kind of like the guy was out
pointing him for four rounds but like three corps away
through the.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
Last saying that about Nate, he might want to he'll
fight you.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
No, it's a good thing. It was a great thing
because like it was one of those things where I
saw I saw it again. Guy called you a goofball.
He's a great guy, great fighter. I don't know, I
don't know, fucking I don't know, but he like it
was great because he gave you know, I was out
pointed for four rounds in the championship round, like three
corps away almost maybe four four minutes of the five
(43:38):
minute round into at the end, he cracks Leon Edwards
with a shot and instead of like just rush him
getting to kill just like points out him, like I
fucking had you if I wanted you, like and then
if they finished out like he was wobbly, but he
didn't go after him and just like points on him. Laughs,
and like cause he didn't fucking care like he saw
this movie. Yeah, he was just so just a remind
(43:59):
me more till it was like, ah, I got you,
I got you.
Speaker 2 (44:05):
And it's again like every VANDAMN movie, it looks like,
oh yeah, the bad guy does have him.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
He's uh, he could barely stand and then Josh was like,
stay down, Yeah, I put all the money on n
till that we're going to be fine. And he's wrong bet.
That was one of the titles. It was filmed under
somewhere else. Yeah's wrong bet.
Speaker 2 (44:27):
That was another one.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
Yep, but that's that was the one thing I for
sure always remembered about this movie was I swear to
god that was in another movie too. Stupid line where
somebody put all the money on uh the opposition. Yeah,
oh yeah, I mean it's not a new concept. Yeah,
we've definitely seen it.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
He's like wrong, bet, and he gets up kicks a mask.
Oh and it even like kicks people's asses in the audience.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
Yeah. The cynthy is like bodyguard, yeah, man, yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (44:57):
And then he it was like to me, like it
was probably one of the easiest fights Van Damn had
really well, because once they got mad kick the shit out.
Speaker 1 (45:08):
Of him right well. Throughout this movie he's wearing like
work boots and he's kicking people in the head and
people are just eating them. Like, I don't know, I
don't have a you know, wealth of knowledge about fighting,
but if I take a roundhouse kick with a work boot,
I'm going down right coming back. If you eat a Timberlin, right,
(45:29):
I think ninety percent of the people out there go
down with you get a roundhouse with a timber toes. Yeah,
but there was one there was one ether coming out.
I think it might've been a Scottish guy where he
hits like two head kicks in a row and the
guy just eats him and comes forward, and I'm like,
talk about no selling. If you're like professional wrestling, they
say like, oh, he just no sold it, Like guy
just took two shots to the head and there's two
(45:51):
head kicks and walks through it. Like that's kind of ridiculous, right,
I feel like you'd be phased a little bit.
Speaker 2 (45:58):
Do you want us to see if we could take
a hit had kicked in with a word boodle, no joking.
Speaker 1 (46:03):
Do you ever watch a bully beat down? Yes? With
Mayhem Miller, there was a there was one up. I
used to love Mayhem. Oh he he kind of crashed
and burned right. He went off the deep end unfortunately,
but he was a character. And but there was one
episode where they had someone come in and they they
weren't I didn't realize until this episode that they weren't
(46:24):
allowed to headkick for this reason because they're so devastating.
But the guy was It was one of the years
where they were wearing like the big fluffy head gear
even and the guy like the actually the like the
bully quote unquote, Bully was like getting some shots in
on his m a guy, and all of a sudden,
it was like it must have been to switch to
flip because then he just like pop pop and then
headkick and the guy just met it out, just down
(46:46):
and like and then Mayhem's like, oh, that's why you're
not allowed to do that. I used to love that show.
I mean, I feel like it also was set up.
Oh yeah, it was a hundred fake like it was.
It was, but it was the good. Everything was good
about it and I love to seeing it, even like
bringing in other UFC fighters.
Speaker 2 (47:05):
It's okay, so bring in this guy to fight a bully.
I'm like, yeah, all fake right, yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
Because like and there was a couple of times like
the bullies would get like a couple of bucks and
they're like, well, no, that's not how I want this
to end. I want the nerds to get the money, right, well,
you know sometimes yeah, sometimes the bullis win. F y.
I people, you're writing a script, right, but yeah, so
see you think he's the wrong bet, Like I want
(47:34):
to say iconic but not really just a fun line
to remember.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
Yeah, and he was supposed to be like this is
one of the switch yeah change you know Van Damn Like.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
No, no, no, it's up Kurt, But yes, but I
love it was It was so funny because he gets
he knocks him into the stands and he's sitting there
with his hands on his throat ready to throw those
like that last vital blow and I guess you're supposed
to believe like one more punch and he could have
(48:06):
killed him. It felt like that's what they were getting at,
like one more. But Untila is fully conscious staring at
him wide eyed, like but also out. I mean, I
feel like holding back the punch, like couldn't killed him
or was it him showing like like you because he
looks at Cynthia's like I'm not this person your pet
(48:26):
like yeah blah blah blah. Let it Tilla know that
have way more honored than you, I guess.
Speaker 2 (48:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (48:34):
But then there's the two uh because the whole time
the two French Foreign Legion guys were in the crowd, yeah, which.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
They were like kind of you know, on his side
in the fight, which is like, oh, you mean like
the two FBI agents like in blood Sport.
Speaker 1 (48:50):
At first they weren't because you know, they beat him up.
He beat them up, so they weren't at first, but
then he was taking a licking and keeping on ticking,
just walling the crowd over. The one guy started clapping
for him. Yeah, well just like blood Sport, right, it
was like yeah, right, there's the same guy right this movie.
There's there's a reason, like you go like fan Dam
(49:13):
was great, but man with a formula movies.
Speaker 2 (49:15):
Oh yeah, and uh yeah he wins. All the rich
people are happy because they bet on. Oh yeah, so great,
like except Cynthia. She tried to high tail it out
of there.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
That was And that's one of those things you see
you've seen before movie it's always great. Like she was
in her car like just waiting, like running to her
car in the backseat already like waiting for her driver,
like not like to peel out, and the guy comes,
you know, the the pit boss or whatever you want
to say, comes like out of the car and you
hear on the It was great. I love the through
the radio thing like we were like tell that bitch
(49:49):
to get back here and pay a marker or whatever.
It's so stupid but funny, like don't let her fucking
leave the property. Whatever it was.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Yeah, So I don't know what the odds were, but
I think she probably had way more money. Oh yeah, see,
I like a followup movie like what they do to her.
She buried like in the backyard of that imagine.
Speaker 1 (50:10):
Right, Well that's what that's what got me. Was like
the last odds they saw it was like Tilla was
like three and a half to one to win, So
it wasn't like she was going to win a ton
unless she put us fucking huge amount. I put a
million dollars in the fight, right, See what when three
hundred thousand like three to one, Like you're three to
one in the wrong way, Like, well, like the favorite,
(50:32):
like you put a million, you win maybe three hundred thousands.
Oh Tilla was Yeah he was not the favorite. Yeah,
like like Lionheart was. The was the underdog. That's what
got me about that, was like, well she had to
put I don't know how betting nouns work.
Speaker 2 (50:43):
I assume she's probably oh and like several million dollars, right,
and she doesn't have it's not liquid, not liquid. She's
think she just makes enough on betting.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
Right, Well, yeah, she's uh the impress of the fighting world.
She lines up fights.
Speaker 2 (51:03):
Maybe not even that rich. Yeah, true, just as long
as she keep fighting and betting. Yeah, oh probably. I
assume she looked like a person that would rig fights
at the end. She could me rigging fights the whole time,
always like always gotta stead he flew a cash.
Speaker 1 (51:16):
Not really rich, but I oh yeah, but yeah, like
and that was the other quick development was you learned
at the end, like, oh, you didn't know Joshua was
part of a fight league. But then that's the first
time Van Dam goes down like, you know, bumbling around
on the ground. He's like, stay down, don't let her
(51:36):
do you elect she did me? And then you're like,
oh shit, he's still friends with her and she right,
she still knowing, but even brought him into the mix. Right,
and he brought his buddy into it. I thought you
were family. Family, wouldn't do that to h ship. But yeah,
then he goes and fox his sister in law.
Speaker 2 (51:54):
He definitely that was that's part two, right, So yeah.
Speaker 1 (51:57):
The French born guys put him in the car and
then like, well they let him go back to her
place to get patched up. Yeah, the fuck right, you're right. Yeah,
But then they show up to pick him up weirdly enough,
three people in the back seat of his car. Yeah,
and they drive around the corner and then let him out.
Let him out, Why get down? How about you just.
Speaker 2 (52:16):
Drive up in front of everybody like you know what, Yeah,
we're not gonna take you back.
Speaker 1 (52:22):
Good job later.
Speaker 2 (52:23):
No, they had the whole family has to go through
the trauma that they're taking him away. And they pull
around the corner.
Speaker 1 (52:28):
Like psych we just couldn't bear to see the tears
of that little, big hitted girl.
Speaker 2 (52:35):
She freaked me out.
Speaker 1 (52:35):
Man, It's got its own gravitational pool. Yeah, but yeah,
it's then he goes back and everybody's all a big
fucking happy ending. Yeah hooray.
Speaker 2 (52:45):
Yeah, but that was that moment when even the wife
and I were watching it, when yeah, his sister and
aw started leaning in. I'm like, oh, wait, she actually
wants to she wants to make out.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
Just make it obvious. Come on, yeah, let's do it,
let's do it. Oh yeah, it was. It was so
weird that vibe like it was because you know, like
like we always laugh about Vandam usually has a pointless
sex scene in his movies and this one didn't have one.
But it was like did he lobby for one? Like
come on, like, she's not married anymore? Right, bro, that's
(53:21):
your dead brother's wife, not anymore keyword dead. Yeah, she's
still living. Let's go. It's not blood relations, it's an
in law bro. Now, some people.
Speaker 2 (53:38):
Are like one of Van Dam's best more human films
or human? What are his other one?
Speaker 1 (53:46):
Human? All right? All right, I hope you're picking like Lesionira. Next,
so I saw that pop up.
Speaker 2 (53:55):
I'm assuming they're making it like that person gave it
a seven out of ten, So was he just more?
Speaker 1 (54:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (54:04):
I don't know what this review means. Yeah, I mean
I would seven out of ten. Great film. Vandamn is
at his best here, I mean maybe, okay, like, let's
let's not pret another seven out of ten. Let's not
pretend he's like an amazing actor. One of Van Dam's
best movies. It's pull into his heartstrings. Man, Yeah, seven
(54:27):
out of ten, seven out of ten.
Speaker 1 (54:29):
Huh.
Speaker 2 (54:30):
Honestly, if you add like, oh, this guy okay, a
no brain fight film with a heart van Damn's best.
Speaker 1 (54:39):
If you ask me like, hey, well, like we always do,
what's what we rate it, I'd probably go like seven
and a half just out of sheer bad like but
bad like, not like not a great, oh great film.
No for a cheesy, fun, goofy nineties action movie. It's
like a seven and a half for me. Huh, okay,
Like it's not good movie. Don't don't get me confused,
(54:59):
Like get confused with me saying like, oh, this was
such a cinematic masterpiece, that's not what it is. Okay,
good because I'm thinking more of this gentleman here. They
do five out of ten.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
Routine but acceptable, So I think I'm giving it five
out of ten. It just it felt five out of
ten followed the template followed a template, very formulaic, and
it like we're Blood Sport, same thing like fandamn, something
happens he's fighting and it's just fight scene and you
(55:32):
want to root for him. Uh, this movie didn't have
any like music necessarily that really like Sport.
Speaker 1 (55:41):
When he was fighting, there was the music really helped
the fight scenes. Uh.
Speaker 2 (55:45):
The cinematography helped the fight scenes. This movie just I mean,
I could have filmed it on an iPhone. Yeah, there
was nothing special about the fight scenes in the cinematography.
Speaker 1 (55:59):
One of Van Dam's best.
Speaker 2 (56:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
I thought his acting was kind of oh yeah, shit,
not great the fights. Like I said, the fight scenes
weren't choreographed great or like or they weren't executed well.
Speaker 2 (56:12):
I thought he I thought he was better in Kickboxer.
I thought Kickboxer was a better movie. Now, mind you
Blood Sport Kickboxer. This one it's the same fucking thing, right,
Oh yeah, something happens, he fights a bunch of people.
Speaker 1 (56:25):
Right sometime to a family member. We got to we
gotta fight for something.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
But I felt like those other two just were better,
whether it was the music, whether it was the other
actors around him, probably the execution, but also don't think
Attilla was on the level of Tong Po. Yeah, Tong
Po and also Chung Lee right, like uh number one.
(56:49):
I feel both of those characters could beat up Attila
right and a heartbeat. So where those the two bads
in those movies were way more into this and they
gave you a moment he was kicking that post like
fandamn is like, Kurt, don't fuck this fucking guy like
(57:12):
he see, Like Attila didn't seem that threatening. Tom Poe
was like fucking just breaking somebody's neck right in front
of the judges, Like right.
Speaker 1 (57:20):
That all you had was that one quick video and
he bodied eight guys. Like yeah, that's that's why he
gave it a set of ten because it was so
good for the story.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
And it's like yeah, mid or whatever the kids say,
uh for me, five out of ten, I was it
was fine because it's again, it was a what hour
and a half Back when we used to make movies
that weren't three hours, so it moved to a good clip.
Fight scenes were fine. It's just it's just his other
(57:52):
fight movies are way better. Yeah, Request, which we'll have
to bring up. But it's not free anywhere at the moment.
That well, free by to Be we'll bring that up
for a second. I thought you met Vision Quest and
I was like, no, no, it's called The Quest.
Speaker 1 (58:07):
I feel that he's very underrated. Man, damn movie. We'll
get there once we can find it. On to be Cool. So, so,
so what's next? I thought about this long and hard.
Uh that's not good this uh uh for all the
people out there, if you're new, you should never think
about anything on this podcast long enough. Yeah yeah, yeah,
(58:31):
but I was thinking about, you know, a movie popped
up like oh shit.
Speaker 2 (58:36):
With a Swarzenegger, Like, wow, what you did a Swarzenegger.
I was like, it's been a long time since we
talked about sense cegal. So I thought, what about one
where he uh, all of a sudden is the Native
American on Deadly Ground? Oh, that's the one, and it's
(58:56):
on It's on to be That's.
Speaker 1 (58:59):
The one where he was doing the h the putting
out fires and oil.
Speaker 2 (59:03):
Yeah, he's a firefighter and also environmentalist. That's what happens
when you he has that very fringy jacket. He looks
like Jim Carrey and dumb and dumber with his.
Speaker 1 (59:16):
Here you go, here you go.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
It's on to be, So everybody go and check it
out for free. So if you want to send your
thoughts on it, swol Cinema at gmail dot com.
Speaker 1 (59:30):
Yeah, Instagram, Swole cinema. That's a that's fun because I've
looked for Stevens calling there like I'm like, why are
Stevens Gong movies always for pay? They're never free? Good? Fine? Mark?
Speaker 2 (59:42):
Yeah, well I mean knowing to be They heard me,
and you have seven days.
Speaker 1 (59:48):
Right, you know? Yeah, and seven days is off to
be and it will be on Amazon for five dollars.
They also also I came across I think on Twoby
the hard to Uh, what's the one he was on
a boat. The next time he's on a train, on
the siege train.
Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
Then no, understiege. Yeah, it was about underseage train. Oh yeah,
but I almost thought about that, but I was like, no,
I think on Dead the Grounds when he starts to
get wrong, Yeah, weird, it's right, that's whatever he's in.
Speaker 1 (01:00:17):
It's like, oh, yeah, I've been Native American for you.
Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
Really wanted I was hoping to find the glimmer Man, because.
Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
That's where I think he definitely gave up. I just
my favorite thing about that movie is just the title,
because they they make a reference to it. Like, first
you see him, then there's a glimmer and it's gone.
But then you're you're wearing like a mumu. Like first
you see him and you can't unsee him, and then
(01:00:46):
you see a little more of them, and then a
little more, a little more, and then he's gone. Yeah
on deadly ground Steven Seagale, what that was like nineteen
ninety four, so uh, hell yeah. And we'll see just
how swollen he is. And watch out for those chairs
(01:01:07):
in Russia, right, he'll suck a chair up. I'll I'll
sit the funk on the chair. Hell yeah, all right,
for every Neil out there, Neil.
Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
This has been a small cinema.
Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
Keep lefting that way, bitches,
