🎙️**“Laughter, Liberty & Legalization: Mike Boris (R-NV) on Free Speech, Censorship, and the Cannabis Economy”**
🎙️Hosted by Garland Brinkey, Ph.D. & Patricia Brinkey, Esq.

Open Conversation with Intelligent Explanation🧨

This episode flips the script and lights up the phone lines as Mike Boris, (R-NV) Las Vegas-based comedian, cannabis advocate, Congressional candidate, and free speech firestarter, brings his high-voltage wit and insight to the mic. Known for pushing boundaries in both comedy and policy, Boris dives deep into the hypocrisy of modern politics, cancel culture, and the complicated fight for cannabis normalization in America.

🔴 Is comedy still a safe space for free speech — or has the Left hijacked the mic?
🔴 What’s the truth about Nevada’s cannabis industry — regulation, representation, or revenue grab?
🔴 How do libertarians and conservatives find common ground in defending personal freedom?

A master storyteller with roots in stand-up and reform activism, Mike Boris doesn’t hold back. He shares what it’s like navigating both red and blue audiences, why political satire matters more than ever, and how Nevada’s cannabis laws still fail the very people they claimed to liberate.

With a perfect mix of humor, heat, and hard facts, this episode is a must-listen — especially for those tired of the safe, scripted, and silenced status quo!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Las Vegas, Nevada. It's time for straight talk and real solution.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
We're breaking down the issues that matter to you with
no spin, just the truth.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
From the strip to mainstream.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
We're keeping it real for hard working Americans.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
This is Talk with a Conservative, Open conversation, with intelligent explanation.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Las Vegas and Nevada, let's talk. Welcome to talk with
a Conservative. I'm doctor Garland Brinkley. I ran for a
SIMPI District one in twenty twenty two and again in
twenty twenty four. I am a slow learner. I'm also

(00:43):
a retired university professor.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
And I'm Patricia Brinkley. I ran for Senate District one
in North Las Vegas, and I am an attorney at law,
and welcome to talk with a conservative.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Tonight. We're actually joined two guests, Jeff Compton, who's the
owner of the Trump Store, and Michael Boris, a candidate
for Senate District twenty one.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
So let's get started.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Hello Jeff, Hello Patricia Harlan.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Great to be with you guys tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Yeah, Jeff, we know you're the owner of the Trump
Store and it's here in Las Vegas at two to
two zero Paradise Road, and Patricia and I were both
at the grand opening you had and the stuff you
had and there was just tremendous. It's like all Trump
all the time. Thank you for joining us tonight, Jeff.

(01:46):
You know, we're amazed at everything you have at your store.
Can you tell us what inspired you to open here
in Las Vegas?

Speaker 5 (01:55):
Sure?

Speaker 4 (01:56):
You know, there's a eighty independent Trump store across the
nation that celebrate the patriotic spirit, the conservative movement and
of course President Trump, and uh, there's really nothing like
it in Las Vegas. And I thought that, you know,

(02:19):
with the with the visiting crowds that come in both
domestic and international, it would be a unique opportunity, uh
to provide you know, the products and the spirit and
you know, show people what we have. And you know,

(02:43):
it has just been remarkable the the reception that we've
gotten from from people when they come into the store.
That's that's probably one of the things that have surprised
me the most is when people come in and they
see the store, it seems like an uplifting experience for them,

(03:08):
and how they are amazed, you know it. I believe
that with Nevada and you know, Las Vegas being a
purple state, if you will, maybe the conservative folks feel
a little bit underappreciated or a little bit you know,

(03:31):
they don't have something like this. And when people walk in,
almost one of the first things they tell us is
thank you for being here, thank you for doing this.
And that was kind of a surprise for me to
get that sort of reception and those sorts of comments.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
So you told us when when we were visiting with
you that you have a lot of people from outside
of America, foreigners coming in. So do you have any
story about someone from abroad that came into your.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Store, Yes, for sure. You know, one of the first
people that walked in, even before we were open, was
from Thailand, and you know, we're just setting up the store,
just getting ready, you know, to open in a couple
of days, and the door was unlocked, and this gentleman

(04:28):
walked in and started talking to me about when he
was a kid in Thailand and his dad was fascinated
with Ronald Reagan, and so through that he learned about

(04:49):
the United States and our political process. And when he
went to school and to university in Thailand, he studied
the United States and political science in the United States.
And about after about five or ten minutes of him

(05:11):
following me around the store telling me the story, I
stopped for a minute and I just focused on him
and started really absorbing what he was saying. And then
he went through the story that he eventually graduated, and
then he made a point of telling me that he
legally migrated here to the United States and he became

(05:36):
a Republican and the first person that he voted for
was Trump in you know, November of twenty fifteen for
the first term.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Yeah, wonderful.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
And it was through that conversation that I started to
understand that the people that come in to the store,
they have a personal connection to the products that we sell.
It's not just a commodity. It's just not a shirt,

(06:11):
or it's just not you know, a coffee cup or
some sort of novelty. There's a connection about their life
and the reason it's important to them. And for me,
I've been involved in a lot of different industries and
a lot of different companies in my life, and this
is unique. This is something that I've never seen before.

(06:33):
It's just been fascinating for me.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
What's really interesting is that a friend of ours his
last name is also Reagan, although I don't think there's
any relation there, But he travels a lot, and I
mean a lot throughout the US, and he always goes
to the Trump store whenever you can find him. What
was interesting, the last time I talked to him, like
earlier this week, he hadn't heard about you yet, so

(06:57):
I made sure that he had one of your percent
off discount coupons, and he plans on going in there,
like if he's not already gone in there. So yeah,
it's like people make pilgrimages to the different Trump stores.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Yes, because these different stores have different means. Yeah, so
just learn that. Can you tell us what type of
merchandise that you have in your stores so we can
get our listeners to come down and check your store out.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Sure, you know, we have at least fifty different shirts
with all sorts of different slogans or pictures, and you know,
shirts are probably one of our number one sellers. Right
after that is hat. You know, of course, the red
hat make America Great again. Everyone knows that. But there's

(07:54):
all sorts of different hats, probably a selection of at
least forty different types of hat. We have glasses, mugs, tumblers,
little knickknacks, curios, mementoes, watches.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
You have it all there, yeah, so oh yeah, and
now we are listening to talk with a conservative and
we'll be right back.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
It's time to cut through the noise and get back
to what really matters. Let's talk.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
And this is Patricia Brinkley and we're here this evening
with our second guest. His name is Michael Boris. Mike
is a Las Vegas native stand up comedian, small business owner,
published author, veteran advocate, candidate Nevada State Senate District twenty one,

(10:25):
and a father of six. Did I miss anything, Mike?

Speaker 8 (10:28):
Si?

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Okay, I'll put that down. And so, Jeff, I want
you to be Mike and we're going to have a
little convo right now. Our telephone number is seven zero
two two two one seven two eight three, or you
can email us at TWAC Radio Show at gmail dot com.
And we're also on x SO.

Speaker 9 (10:54):
And don't forget to lower your personal stereo when you're
calling in.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Uh, yes, please call us, it's just while you're waiting police,
mute or turn down your volume. Okay. So, Mike, we
met you during the twenty twenty four election cycle when
you were running against Dina Titus. Yes, was that your
first time running for a political office.

Speaker 8 (11:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (11:14):
I've been involved in politics my whole life, especially with
veterans and healthcare with children, but it was my first
time stepping up and actually running an office. So I
was a little green when I started, and it was
definitely a learning experience the entire time. I'm no regrets.
I'm glad I started.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
So your bile states that you were in Las Vegas
a native. Have you seen Las Vegas change during your
lifetime here?

Speaker 9 (11:42):
Well, you find and I moved out here when I
was maybe three years old, so nineteen eighty nineteen eighty one.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
And.

Speaker 9 (11:51):
The east side of Vegas you don't see any change
at all. It almost looks the same except for the
businesses or closed down. Now there's you know, over the windows,
and as fast as it was promised to be glorious,
it was shot right down. But everywhere else is looking great,
it's getting upgraded, Summerlin's looking wonderful. But you don't get

(12:12):
memories out here because as soon as you establish a
nostalgic place, they tear it down and then rebuild on
top of it.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
So now you're running for Senate District twenty one. Did
you read or hear that this morning? You have a
primary opponent?

Speaker 9 (12:29):
Yes, yes, a good friend, absolutely, Al Rojas. I think
he's a great guy. I've worked with him before and
he ran for a D twelve and lost in his primary,
and he's expanding himself. So I think I was a
great guy and I wish him the best of luck.

Speaker 8 (12:50):
And you know, we're running his friends. I was like,
smear me, bro I'm a comic. I could take it.
I'm an open book. Get it out there.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
So Mike, why Senate district twenty one read than the
congressional seat.

Speaker 9 (13:02):
So when I ran in the congressional seat, you have
to raise a lot of money, and I mean in
the millions, and.

Speaker 8 (13:10):
I did good.

Speaker 9 (13:11):
I financed myself. I didn't like the phone call styles
of calling seniors and putting in fear tactics and trying
to just get as much as you can from somebody
that's never looked you in the eye.

Speaker 8 (13:23):
So I worked hard.

Speaker 9 (13:24):
I have my own small business with a couple of employees,
and I saved up, just like I'm doing with this race.
And I had raised forty thousand last time, but it
did not compete well with the two gentlemen that had
a million at their access. So in this one, I don't,
you know, I know a lot of the people running.
Bobby Kahn is a friend. He's running for CD one,

(13:45):
and I want to make sure not to you know,
if I don't feel like it's a solid lock for me,
I feel like, you know, I don't want to take
away from somebody who has that chance and they lose
because of you know, the fourteen hundred vot I got,
or so you know, it's like, uh, you know, go
where I fit in and CD one is the east

(14:08):
side Henderson, Boulder City. Uh. And I grew up on
the east side of Las Vegas. I've done forty years
hard time in this town. Uh. And so now it's
like it's you know, I'm just scooting over and concentrating
my focus on the smaller area.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
You know.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Okay, our callers, our number is seven zero two two
two one seven, two eight three. So my what was
the impetus for your decision to run again? Uh?

Speaker 9 (14:38):
I didn't win last times, and I had I won
last time, I would not be running this election.

Speaker 8 (14:45):
Uh, you know specifically, And I've spent a lot.

Speaker 9 (14:49):
Of my career in cannabis education, not cannabis sales, but
cannabis education. I had the number one educational show syndicated
on FM radio in the country. I was the first
person hit FM uh and indicate as well with doctor
Wayne and my partner John Allen, and we used education
in comedy to kind of help that message stick so.

Speaker 8 (15:08):
You would learn from it.

Speaker 9 (15:10):
And we worked primarily in helping families that we're dealing
with cancer issues and helping them get their meds, nonviolent
offenders and the veterans, which I've worked with for years
and years and years, amongst other groups. But when I
found out that we collected out here nine hundred million
in tax dollars off of our cannabis tax that was

(15:31):
supposed to be for our kids, and we are rated
number like fifty, we stay at the bottom in the
education here. Now, when you collect nine hundred million, you're
only allowed to have in your general fund twenty percent
of what's in your state fund, which is two point
two billions. So now we have five hundred and sixty
million too much and our fund and they're just trying
to rewrite the laws to keep the money. It's a

(15:51):
non transparent fund. They've given nothing to our schools and
we still rank at the bottom when we're getting this
much funding. We should not have children with this low
education level.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
So Mike, you're running again. This isn't just a ploy
for your wife to get you out of the house.

Speaker 8 (16:12):
Yes, it absolutely is. As you heard, I have six children.

Speaker 9 (16:15):
I am happy to be anywhere that is not a home.

Speaker 8 (16:18):
I have six beautiful step kids.

Speaker 9 (16:20):
And three that are mine. They don't all live with
me at the same time. It's a revolving door. But yeah,
it's absolutely a ploy, Absolutely a ploy. I'd rather be
here than anywhere outside this building right now.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
You mentioned that you had a small business, but you
didn't tell us what it was the name.

Speaker 9 (16:38):
I own an appliance repair company warranty with contracts with
g in all state and I have a few employees
between here in California. And if you get an appliance
and it breaks in the first year, I'm the guy
that comes out and finds out whose fault it is
and we fix it, and you know, you're a happy camper.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Okay, we have a caller.

Speaker 10 (16:58):
Hello, caller, how are you doing, miss Brinkley?

Speaker 1 (17:02):
I'm Will and your name please Frank friends, Oh, good evening, Frank.
What's your question?

Speaker 11 (17:10):
So, actually we are forty seventh in education and we
ran dead last fiftieth and safety?

Speaker 10 (17:17):
What would this candidate do if he was able to
get his hands on some of those marijuana funds to
help benefit the student and benefit safely.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
Okay, thank you Frank for your.

Speaker 8 (17:28):
Question to say that one? What did he say there?

Speaker 9 (17:31):
He said, how are we helping with?

Speaker 8 (17:34):
To say, yeah, we are forty seven, so we're moving
on up.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
I want to know what are you going to do
to utilize those funds?

Speaker 9 (17:40):
If I had those funds to use in the school one,
I would I would get the best teachers that money
can buy. I would bring back skill classes like autoshop,
home economics, welding. You know, government is gone now out
of our schools. I would pay any dollar amount to
raise the security level of the schools to keep the
kids safer, especially in the harsher neighbor areas, and I

(18:07):
had a good one too.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Would you make it a one point of entry for
the schools.

Speaker 9 (18:13):
No, if there's a fire, I want to be able
to get out two or three different places. But if
you have secure exits and entries. One thing I always
propose is using veterans. There's a lot of veterans who
are still not active duty, but still very active, and
letting them patrol our schools and our parks.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
I noticed there was an article I read the other
day and they said that I believe it was in
New Orleans, that they had issues with the school. And
so what they did was they invited the fathers to
come in to the school, and with the presence of
all these males in the school, the incidents of fights

(18:55):
and other things dropped significantly because there was a presence
of men in the school and they were not there
to discipline anyone but just their alpha. Yeah, and so
they solve the difference. So I think there's something that
we should consider here.

Speaker 9 (19:12):
Anybody from Gen X really is a soldier, whether they've
been in the military or not, for the most part,
So you just need to to you know. I'll tell
you one thing too, I was going for a joke there,
but I was distracted. But the cursive writing they've taken
out of school, which is a big thing to me
because our constitution is written in cursive. So if you

(19:33):
go ten more years and these children that are just
getting into let's say, kindergarten, who are having no part
of cursive but the time they hit that high school age,
they don't know how to read the constitution. And that's
that's a big problem.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
They can't even write their own.

Speaker 9 (19:47):
Signature, and with no government, they don't know there is
a constitution.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
So, Jeff, what do you have to say about the
cursive writing?

Speaker 4 (19:58):
Jeff, Now, yeah, I think it's important. It's surprising to
me that that is falling off the map, and you
know that our schools aren't covering some of the basic
stuff that they did when we were growing up, you know, government,
as you mentioned, cursive writing, you know, just getting Yeah,

(20:22):
it's just surprising to me for sure.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Okay, well, let's just put the blame where the blame
should be. Parents should be involved in their children's education.
And if the parents know cursive writing, how come they're
not teaching it to their children?

Speaker 9 (20:37):
Because the parents have to work two and a half
jobs to make the ends meet. Both parents have to
work those two and a half jobs and any kind
of free time is sleep time. And the children are
now using video games and Roadblocks and Fortnite to raise themselves.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
But you know, there are different like little books that
kids can have that the children should have once before
they even start kindergarten. They're teaching them about the ABC's,
the Nash guards, Yeah, flash cards. I mean, there's little
workbooks that teach cursive writing.

Speaker 9 (21:11):
So I mean see, and that's a generational thing. So
our generation and above the ex the baby boomers, we're
more or more depending on how much kids are now
more interactive with your children as opposed to you can't
get the parents off the phone to get the kid
off the phone to you know, as soon as you
hit an age that you could hold the phone, here's
your iPad, kid, you know, and you.

Speaker 8 (21:32):
Hit door, the explore whatever it is.

Speaker 9 (21:34):
And you're finding that this next Y and Z generation
are just lazy parents. They're used to everything handed to them,
so they want their kids to be everything handed to them.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Yeah, with education, would you reduce the number of administrative staff?

Speaker 9 (21:51):
I would reduce. I would reduce the whole school board.
I mean, if I had a choice to it, you know,
and each school I know defers. But if you don't
have school choice, you don't have schools that are competing
to be the best they can be. They're all just
eating off the funds that they're getting shipped in, and

(22:12):
they're misusing them inappropriately. And the administrators each have to
be a like you have to go over one by
one because you've got some that are making four hundred
thousand a year and they shouldn't be because of misappropriation.
And then you have a select few that are probably
really good and dedicate their lives to doing that job,
and you shouldn't get rid of them, but you got
to drain the swamp there as well.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Okay, So, Mike, your bile states that you speak truth
with humor. Please share some truthful humor.

Speaker 12 (22:39):
Truth, be more funny, and we'll be right back with

years in my grandfather and it was like a real
big family. Thing AND i keep a chess board right
there in my den and just about everybody that comes,
over a.

Speaker 8 (26:42):
Lot of, lawyers a lot of lawyers.

Speaker 9 (26:43):
Are really good at, chess and they all want my.
Butt you, KNOW i get beat a, lot BUT i
love the. GAME i think it makes you smarter and
helps your focus.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
Tremendously you, know chess is offered as a subject matter
and a lot of school throughout the, world AND i
don't know why we don't do that. Here we still
have chess, clubs but we. Do it does help you
with your. Focus being creative, Strategy, yes being. PATIENT i

(27:15):
mean there's a lot of traits that an individual can
learn from playing, chess and SO i would like to
see it in the. Schools AND i was just Telling
garland that the other. Day there was a grant THAT
i could have applied, for But i'm not a five
oh ONE c, three SO i can't do. That BUT
i would really like to see chess in the School.

Speaker 8 (27:37):
Oh, yeah, yeah it used to be everywhere for video.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Games, okay, well thank YOU jc for that. Question it
was people are doing their.

Speaker 14 (27:46):
Research, yeah do you play do have you ever played
A japanese chess it's called, no.

Speaker 8 (27:54):
Not like The Star trek with the three. Boards, no it's.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
Not it's just what it. Is it's it's one more
square larger on both, sides so it's a little bit
of a larger. Board but it is very IT'S i find.
IT i think it's more difficult just because of the,
rules and it's very.

Speaker 9 (28:14):
Challenging that's, like you know WHEN i brag about a
three hundred bowling, score BUT i do it in fifteen
frames because everything we do and do.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
Harder, yeah, well thank YOU jac for your. Call we
APPRECIATE i need.

Speaker 8 (28:28):

you been a stand up comedian and how did you
get into?

Speaker 8 (28:55):
It fifteen? YEARS i think Now i've been doing.

Speaker 9 (28:58):
It i've been to six other COUNTRIES i Consider alasko.

Speaker 8 (29:01):
Country.

Speaker 9 (29:02):
Uh you, KNOW i performed all Over vegas and, UH
i used.

Speaker 8 (29:07):
To SO i started. OUT i WAS.

Speaker 9 (29:12):
I was a psychic In, vegas, Right SO i started.
OUT i ran all the psyche type. Bookstores it's like
forevery years. Ago AND i did shows At Manelee Bay Caesar's,
palace AND i did them on stage and would bring
people up and make them.

Speaker 8 (29:24):
Cry. Uh and the.

Speaker 9 (29:26):
Crying part And i'm a fifth generation. Reader, uh but
the crying part was, depressing you, know and SO i
would start to kind of crack. Jokes my, grandfather uh
step grandpa Was JOE. B harr and he had a
community drama workshop At Sam's town's Where Drew carey got
started and did. Improvs AND i took that, Class Joe
charles Uh Comedy San diego improv and all these classes

(29:48):
to perfect my craft BEST i. Can and Then i've
been working a lot with Like Lex Las vegas out,
here so shout out to. Him produces you, know, one
hundreds and thousands of shows and he's a nice place
to stretch your legs if you're into the comedy scene
out here In Las.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Vegas your bio states that you're published, Author, yes so
can you tell us more about. That any books you've.

Speaker 9 (30:10):
Written, Yeah i've got two published out right, now And i've,
done you, know short. Films i've been a fan of
making short films for many. Years AND i wrote A
trail Of, tears which is SOMETHING i tried to prove
to myself THAT i could do outside of the cannabis
industry THAT i, was you, know involved. In and it's
a nice story about it's fiction based on real evant

(30:33):
and it's a nice story of The trail Of tears
where they walk The cherokees through and the son and
daughter of the chief there and their. Experiences it's a
really cool, book really cool. Book and THEN i Wrote
we To kit The guide To Cannabis, etiquette which is
the rules and courtesies and etiquette of smoking marijuana.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Legally but you had a radio show CALLED X life.

Speaker 9 (30:58):
Nug, Life, WELL i had Ex life was more of
a more kind of what we're doing now to just
be more encompassing and not so. Demographic but we were
the cannabis counter culture community, show and we had a
lot of. Support we were on five. Stations it was
called Nug Life, radio worked With High times And Weed,
maps and we were with Nug, magazine and there was Nug,

(31:21):
radio and then there was Nug life On Nug, radio
and then we took off and, syndicated and we're very
Like Howard. Stern but with cannabis, education we'd always have
somebody who was a super educator and helping the, community
and then we would have a celebrity come on at
the end of the. Show and there's a lot of
celebrities who supported cannabis use in that.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Day still DO i assumed this was when cannabis was.

Speaker 8 (31:44):
Legal, yeah it's more legal.

Speaker 9 (31:46):
Now it was more accessible when it was in the gray.
Area so when it was just, medical we were having
events and they were.

Speaker 8 (31:54):
Legal we did The Las.

Speaker 9 (31:55):
Vegas henfest here at The craig Ranch amphitheater With Mike
coolahan and that Was larry And bob who on The
planet Thirteen dispensary and they funded that whole, thing and
he was the mayor Of henderson and the legislature and
it was amazing AT. Icp and you, Know Tommy chong
was out, there AND i stood up there all day
and just threw free stuff off.

Speaker 8 (32:15):
Stage and made.

Speaker 9 (32:16):
Jokes and The Boston Freedom rally one hundred and eighty
thousand PEOPLE i. Did that Was Arilla, bacon who does
the most expensive cook with two.

Speaker 8 (32:24):
Chains she's.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Fame our number is seven zero two two two one
seven two eight. Three you can reach us At Tuak Radio,
show At gmail or on X please follow us on X. So,
mike out of all your, careers which one would you
say it was the most defining for you so far

(32:46):
in your? LIFE i know you're a young, man still.

Speaker 8 (32:48):
Be, Well i'm forty seven years.

Speaker 9 (32:49):
Old it'll be forty eight and like two weeks and
my Most i've Always i've done the same thing since the,
beginning And i've gotten in front of, people i make
them smile AND i, educate be it through, comedy be
it through comic, books stage. Events but they get the
highly ghost show with the ghosts floating and the, wrestling
and it's all got the same. Message it's just different

(33:10):
avenues of getting.

Speaker 8 (33:11):
There so if.

Speaker 9 (33:12):
You're not educated on, cannabis maybe you're not dealing with
cancer or epilepsy. Disorders but you might someone know someone who,
does or you might meet someone who, does and you'll
be happy you accidentally learned. Something listening to, me.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
SO i see that you're also a veteran. Advocate did
you serve in the? Military, ah kind, of.

Speaker 8 (33:34):
There's a picture of me. SOMEWHERE i was in The Marine.

Speaker 9 (33:37):
CORPS i did three years of OUR otc At Eldorado
High school down here on The east Side naval and
THEN i went into The Marine corps seventeen years old
AND i exited out on a general. Discharge turns, out
stand up comics in The Marine corps not a fun,
thing not a fun thing at.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
All they don't support.

Speaker 9 (33:55):
That, No, no my job was to make sure the
building didn't burn. Down every night they give me a
sign and they, said everyone comes to the. Door you
read it and you make sure this building doesn't burn.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Down.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
Building so how did you get involved with advocacy for.

Speaker 9 (34:08):
Veterans Because i've you, Know i've in the cannabis industry
that you, KNOW i helped to educate. In you work
with a lot of high suicide, rate especially with the,
veterans and after the work that they've done for this.
Country you, know not like, myself but the real veterans
who went out there and saw action and, stuff they
didn't have a. Voice so and WHAT i specialized in

(34:30):
was giving a voice to the voiceless and getting thanks
for the people who do thankless. Jobs so the more
you got, involved the less, comedy the more education would come.
Out you, Know but they're the suicide rate there is absolutely.
Atrocious the medical care they're receiving is. Atrocious and these
are things that people just don't really. Understand they don't

(34:51):
want to invest into. It they got their own, problems
and a lot of our veterans are an older, generation
so they're not tech savty'd get those words.

Speaker 8 (34:59):
Out Uh so it's just about.

Speaker 9 (35:01):
Getting out, there being present and getting him as much
noticed AS i can to help.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Them, sure we have a, caller, hello, collar.

Speaker 9 (35:12):
What's, happening.

Speaker 11 (35:13):
Y'all this Is brown And Terio.

Speaker 10 (35:15):
Brown hello are?

Speaker 1 (35:19):
You how are? You?

Speaker 7 (35:25):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Man?

Speaker 11 (35:26):
Look you KNOW i support my Brother Michael bores. There
she's doing an awesome job supporting the veterans doing the.
THINGS i know he has a huge cannabis, background and you,
KNOW i try not to get choked up in the
clouds with. HIM i do like to SAY i support
my brother fellow's. Brother so tell me what are we

(35:48):
gonna do about the veterans in our districts on the state,
level because obviously we have the federal level and Dinner titles,
sucks and we know she sucks because he's supported THE va,
hospital but they nothing at THE v. Eight so what
can we do on the state level to get better
support for all of our veterans in our auditions that

(36:08):
we want to, represent as well as across the. State
BECAUSE i went across the state this past week AND
i see a lot of poor veterans. Suffering what can we, Do, Mike.

Speaker 9 (36:17):
WELL i would tell you right off the bat the
first thing on the, priorities get them off the. Streets
there's too many veterans sitting on the streets dealing with
mental health. Issues and their resources to help. Them and
THEN i would be focusing, funding especially some of this
this extra general fund money that they don't seem to
want to give out to the, people and that should
be going to bettering the, healthcare hiring more. Doctors they

(36:39):
don't have enough doctors to take care of the veterans out.
Here their equipment is Like tijuana. EIGHTIES i have friends
that would rather go To tijuana than deal with THE
va hostile out. Here and then mental, health and you,
know not just for, veterans but for any men right
now in this, GENERATION i think men's mental health is
on such a serious decline that that's why we're all

(36:59):
in the city, situation and that's why a lot of
us are motivated to step up and get involved a
little more because we see that our country is deteriorating
and turning into tight, pants.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
So we want to Bring. Jeff, jeff what do you
have to say about veterans issues In. Nevada i'm.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
Here you, know my my main experience with. Veterans you,
know my oldest son was in the. Army he is
one hundred and first airborne you, know recon, sniper and
he came out of the art he was in desert storm,
too and he came out of the army physically fine

(37:37):
and for you, know the most, part doing. Well but
there is some baggage from the stuff that he saw
and did you, know in the. Army AND i know
that it's been tough for him to get, counseling for
him to you, know get the help that he needed

(38:00):
and you, know and still needs from time to. Time you,
know he's he's well. Adjusted he's a police officer up
In Washington state. Now but you, KNOW i didn't realize
that the gap that there was, there that the non
support that you guys talked, about you, know, earlier and

(38:21):
until our family dealt with. It you, know, FIRSTHAND i
don't know what the solution. Is but you, know there's
much smarter people than me that that THAT i can
help with.

Speaker 14 (38:34):
That and you, know just with.

Speaker 11 (38:37):
You, KNOW i realized what.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
A serious this who it, is and and just you,
know we we owe them all such a great debt
of gratitude and and and and support and AND i
just hope that they can continue to you, know build
that support for.

Speaker 1 (38:55):
Them, okay we have another caller on the. Line, hello, Caller.

Speaker 3 (39:01):

day suicide and it's just a tragic. Number AND i
do go to The Veterans center out here on two
Fifteen Pekos, road And I'M i go to mental health.

(39:37):
There it's been a great help to. ME i Think
