People talking about that block, Witherspoon's hustle that blocked Caleb mccatt,

and after the game, Mike McDonald and again on this
morning show This Morning is his Coaches Show This Morning
said that that was an exquisite effort played by Witherspoon

(01:51):
to help spring haul for the touchdown. DK Metcalf left
the game in the back of a motorized cart. You
may have noticed early in the fourth quarter he banged
his knee landing on it catching a pass out of
bounds getting undercut by a Falcons dB Mike McDonald said
that Metcalf is They're optimistic. It's not a major injury,
but he said. McDonald said this morning on his radio

They're going to do that today, so the Seahawks won't
really know fully where they're at with Metcalf still later
this afternoon. Elsewhere in the NFL, Lions beat the Vikings,

Back in Atlanta, Chris Francis joined us on the Beacon
Plumbing Hotline.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Chris, are you still here in Atlanta?

Speaker 3 (05:22):
I'm at Gate D two Hartsfield International Airport. Do you
hear the elevator music? Yeah, small little airport. You hear
the elevator music or babies crying that's why, or announcements
or anything like that.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Ready to get back to Seattle. Are you what are
you going to stay in? Are you going to stay
in Atlanta?

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Is that how work?

Speaker 1 (05:42):
I'm just going to camp out. I'm gonna hang out
with Jimmy Jimmy Carter Carter Foundation next week.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
I gotta stay here long enough to do the show
and then I'll be at Hartsfield Airport in a few hours.
That is the largest, most crowded, chaotic airport in the world.
It is certifiably the largest airport in the country. I
landed Saturday night and we sat there for ninety five minutes.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
They didn't have a gate for us. Too many planes.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
And you wonder why Greg is not a fan of Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Or any I'm this travel man. I'd love my job.
But yeah, they're getting here and getting back an interesting things,
yes about that.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
What were your impressions yesterday of the Seahawks blowing out Atlanta?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Yeah, I mean, first of all, I was kind of surprised.
You know, I expected a nip and tuck, very even game,
and yeah, they blew them out and on the road,
I mean, how about that. It's amazing what ten days
off will do and getting some guys back, and you know,
the rookies played very well. I mean I didn't expect that.

(06:47):
You know, I didn't expect Kirk Cousins to play so terribly.
So yeah, it was unexpected. It was great for the Seahawks.
I mean, it was just what they needed. Can you
imagine it had lost that game and then they have
the Bills up next and you know you're you're looking
at a five game losing streak had you done that,
but you know, just to win.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
It was just it was just great for those guys.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
And you could tell the confidence they had afterwards in
the locker room. You could tell, uh, you know, how
happy they were to kind of get over the hump,
if you will.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Bruce Irvan, Atlanta guy, was in the locker room yucking
it up with yesterday and I saw Cliff Averroll in
there as well. Yesterday it felt like old Seahawks had
winning by twenty on the road and the favoral and
Bruce Irvin smiled, what'd you think of what they did defensively?
In the secondary, Chris. They started Josh job who had
started three years three games last year with the Eagles

(07:39):
and came up from the practice squad Saturday, and he
went right into the starting line up an outside corner.
They put Devin Wetherspoon in at nickel. They started the
rookie neem I approached a corner and they got away
with it. There were a few times that the Falcons
did target those new starters on the outside, but by
and large they got away with playing with thespoon inside
and two brand new starters outside. What'd you make of

(08:00):
the secondary yesterday?

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Yeah, I mean, look, they held up and it's again,
it's surprising because Kirk Cousins throws for five hundred yards
the week before. You figured they were gonna you know,
like I said, all those weapons and Drake London and
Kyle Pitts caught his passes. But I honestly, I'm shocked
they didn't give the ball more to be John Robinson.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Exactly the start, ye, yes, I mean yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
They couldn't stop that in the first half.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
And Jared Reed told me after the game they did
make some tweaks at halftime to kind of slow that down.
But but then, you know, if that slows down, you
expect Kirk Cousins to start throwing it all over the
art against this this makeshift back, defensive backfield. The best
part about it, though, I think, was the defensive line
didn't allow that to happen.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
You saw.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
I mean, I don't think any I don't think anybody
on the d line. I'm talking about the front, you know,
the front and the defensive ends. I don't think anybody
played more than sixty three percent of the snaps or.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Something like that.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
So they were all fresh and like I said, what
a difference getting healthy and all these guys back, Byron
Murphy taking up double teams and the new guy, Rod Robinson,
Harrison there playing playing good minutes and Jonathan Hankins only
played seventeen snaps so he you know, I mean they
have the depth now to get after boy Mafe's healthy again,
they have the depth to get after a pass a passer,

(09:20):
and that obviously showed. So it helped out. It helped
out those dbs. You know, Pritchett did well, Joe did well.
They Yeah, they were targeted a couple of times, a
couple of p I calls.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
Uh, but you know, overall, no race.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Shawn Jenkins back there, Kobe Bryant plays almost the entire game. Yeah,
talk about the depths for that team. Now, that's that is,
that is what Mike McDonald wants. That's what made Baltimore.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
Is so successful.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Anybody you plug in there on that defense last year
was making a play. So as he looked up, I mean,
this is the this is how they want it to look.
You know, turn the ball over three times, they cut
their turnover differential in half, which is fantastic, you know so,
uh yeah, just all great, great job on the on
on the defense, just proving that if you have guys

(10:12):
that need to step up and play, uh, there's there's
not much drop off.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Speaking boyant, boyant, Chris Francis is with us on the beacon,
plumbing hot right here. One thing, just underline your point
before Chris asked you a question. Leonard Williams sixty two
percent a snap, forty five or sixty nine was the
high on the line. Then Jaron Reid with thirty six snaps.
They had Murphy with thirty four snaps. Roberts and Harrison
is Seahawks debut twenty seven snaps. Hankins, as you mentioned,

(10:38):
only seventeen snaps. So Mark Morris, Mike Morris, Mark Morris
is leading off for show every day, Mike Morris, ten snaps.
That's the That is the depth you need. You need
nine to ten roll nine or ten deep on the
defensive line to be here. Go ahead, Chris, Sorry, no,
you're good.

Speaker 6 (10:55):
What did you Yeah? What did you make of ken
Walker playing through a sickness. He looked like he was exhausted,
but he still went out there, thugged it out and
had a really solid game despite all that.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
On his birthday too, right, Yeah, I didn't even know
untilaster the game, I didn't I didn't know this was
but yeah, I mean, look the guy shows off his
hands too. I mean, how about that catch I got.
I started getting text messages from people about the catch
is phenomenal. I mean, look, we've we've riped about it
for a month now, you know, get the ball more
to ken Walker.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Get the ball to ken Walker, and you clearly see.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
He's making guys miss and stuff. I mean, the run
blocking still is where you want it to be. Although
that's twenty yard touchdown, I don't think he was touched
and it was the between two rookies.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
So I mean.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
It's all that's all working well, and you take the
you take the burden off Geno to win games sold, simple,
simple football, complimentary football. I heard that phrase like four
times yesterday and in the span of ten minutes in
postgame complimentary football. So it's obviously something like McDonald's said
to them, Hey, this is the way it's supposed to work.

(12:00):
But yeah, if you can get ken Walker playing like that,
man this offense, I don't care who's blocking it, really
doesn't matter if they're balanced like that then g look,
Gino ran for his life a little bit. But just
the tiny moves he was making in the pocket, just
the duck and dodge.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
That's just great stuff from him, you know.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
And that drive at the end of the first half,
that two minute drill was the ballgame, I thought. I mean, yeah,
the fumble sack fumble ended it, but that drive to
give them a ten point lead changed everything because then
the Falcons are down ten. Yeah, they score coming out
of halftime, but then the Seahawks matched him again. So
the ten point lead was there most of the game

(12:39):
because of that last drive, and that just changed the
complexion of everything what the Falcons wanted to do, especially
in offense.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Chris Francis case Fox thirteen Seattle joining US is exactly
right pointing that sequence of the game out. Atlanta got
the ball back with two to ten left in the
first half, down by three, ten to seven game, They're
on their own ten yard line and Devin Withersmoth made
a tackle immediately after. I think it was Pits that
got to catch in the flat. Chris's Fantasy for Guy

(13:05):
Chris Kids Fantasy Guy Withersman stopped him as soon as
he caught the pass, forced the fourth down. The Seahawks
got the ball back, used the defensive timeout, and then
still had I think when they got the ball as
a one ten or one fourteen left in the half,
drove down. You get the touchdown pass on the step
up throw by a great dart of a throw by
Gino Smith under DK Metcalf on the post rout in

(13:27):
the end zone. Now, all of a sudden, it's a
seventeen to seven game going into half, instead of perhaps
ten ten or even the Falcons having the lead. Because
the Falcons are receiving the second half kickoff, there was
a chance for Atlanta there to go two for one
and change and flip the game. Instead, Seattle flipped it.
That was the case sequence and again Chris Francis, Fox
thirteen Seattle joining us on the Beacon Plumbing hotline. Okay,

(13:49):
you're making it sound like they're a Super Bowl team
all of a sudden, Again, what concerned.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
You yesterday about the Seahawks? What still concerns you about that?

Speaker 7 (13:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (13:57):
No, I mean it hadn't beaten the Niners, so you know,
I mean, I know the Chiefs did it, so that's yeah,
there's your super Bowl team right there. Yeah, and City
Chiefs who made the Niners look like the Seahawks. So
I mean, you know, yeah, let's temper all this right,
and you know, but here's the thing. I think they
are seeing flashes of how they want to look and

(14:17):
how they want to be. And I think Mike McDonald's
message is, look, we're making progress, we're getting there, and
what do we expect to sity. Yeah, Mike McDonald to
come in and then to be seven and one, you
know off the bat. No, but if even if they
lose the Buffalo at home, you're four and four, You're
still in the thick of the division race. I mean,
this is this is perfect.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
This is fine.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
You got two home games and then you're by so
I mean you are in a perfect spot. And so
that's you know, maybe yeah, not super Bowl contenders, but
getting better every week. And as opposed to that three
game stretch where they had to play it in eleven
days and it was just brutal. I mean, you know,
I don't know how many other and with all those
injuries too, I don't know how many other teams would
hold up under those circumstances. But the Seahawks got through

(15:03):
that and now here we are, and I'm sure they're,
like I said, the confidence is there. They're encouraged by
what they see. They see the progress that Mike McDonald
wants to and you know, there'll there'll be some more
tough things down here down the road, you know, tough stretches,
but they know they can get through it and be
out the other side. And I mean, you know, I'm

(15:24):
just looking at ten wins. If you look at ten wins,
you know they can get there. And we'll see what
happens with the Chips fall.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Then yeah, thanks for the big picture, Chris, because yeah,
they got bills.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
At home this weekend, Rams at home the following weekend,
then the bye, then at San Francisco, then.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Home to the Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
They got three to the next four at home, and
at least two of those are going to be favored
to win, the Rams and the Cardinals. And you're right
for reminding that this is a process. We're only seven
games into brand new systems on offense, defense, and special teams,
with a brand new head coach in charge of everything,
and it's the first time he's ever been a head coach,
so Yeah, it is a bigger picture.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Chris.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Enjoy Hartsfield Airport and the negotiating all of that getting
through it, and I'll see you on the other side.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Thanks for joining us as always.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Yeah, buddy, appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Appreciated.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Chris Francis Fox thirteen Seattle, leaving Atlanta following he and
I watching from the press box yesterday as the Seahawks
improved to four and three and beating the Island of Falcons. Yeah,
he's right to bring up the bigger picture. He's also
spot on about that sequence at the end of the
first half that flipped the game. The Seahawks were staring
at possibly being down maybe even two scores if they

(16:32):
had allowed the Falcons to score at the end of
the first half and the start of the second. Instead,
the Seahawks flipped the script and score with the Gino
Smith touchdown strike. The DK metcalf up next. Tell them
we'll do text line four nine, four or five one
your daily chance to be a part of the show.
Eleven thirty five Factor Fiction is going to stay in
the college realm as I tend to do at eleven
forty five in for Nasal join us heading into his

(16:54):
show from twelve to three. All that coming up next
on ninety three point three KJRFM.

Speaker 7 (16:58):
Now back the Cross Bruce Yours like Jeo's Chill Mondays
with Greg Bell and Christopher Kidd on Your Home for
the twelfth Man in the NFL Sports Radio ninety three
point three kjr FM, Welcome.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Back to Greg Best Show with Christopher Kid rolls on
here from Atlanta. Someone on the text line said, how
about you do a show when you don't have a cold.
If I just stopped working, if I didn't have a cold,
I wouldn't have worked for the last week.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
It's just survive and overcome whatever.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
You don't have to listen. I'm not making you listen.
Hopefully it's not a too jarring for you. I hope
your ears are. Whoever that text her is, I hope
he's doing all right. She's doing our d You know
what the music means. It's time to read your text
on the four nine four five one to tell him
we'll do text silence game time. It's Telly time, your
chance to win one thousand dollars in Factor Fiction's seven
minutes away.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
Not sure from the two oh six if you mentioned
or talked about it, but Greg, how'd your daughter do
this weekend?

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Yeah, they did great. It was the tie the head
of the Charles. Thanks for asking.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
The US Coast Guard second Varsity eight boat headed the
Charles yesterday. There were thirty five thirty four boats in
their heat and they didn't go all at once because
the Charles River is not widen up to have thirty
five boats go down there racing at the same time.
But it would look like Talladega and NASCAR if they
did that. So it's a time trial basically, and they
stagger start and they're racing against the clock and they finished.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
I think it was sixteenth out of thirty four. Not bad.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
You see, Santa Barbara was one of the teams. I
saw that they were way ahead of Clark University. It
was another one and it was very chaotic to watch
live streaming because the boats were all scattered and staggered.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
But yeah, thanks for asking. It was.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
It's a very prestigious event ahead of the Charles and
she had a great time. It was a beautiful seventy
five degree day in Boston and I missed it, but
thanks for asking.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Appreciate that.

Speaker 6 (19:02):
From the five OHO nine, did anyone else see Gino
laying down a block seven seven yards down the line
of scrimmage.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Which play was that, I don't remember.

Speaker 6 (19:11):
I don't remember off top, but I do remember seeing
him go down, and fore I can probably find it.
But I do remember him seeing getting in the way.
It was a run for Kennef. I'm not mistaken the
one he scored, honestly, don't remember twenty yard run.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
I think so somebody blocked anybody. I've passed a lot
of scrimmagers. Nobody there which run that way.

Speaker 6 (19:29):
Okay, So Greg and I are both my answers. No
from Keith Miller two five three, Fan drell or JP patches.
It doesn't matter to me the name, as long as
they can keep Geno upright more than on his booty hashtag.
Eleven wins guaranteed, Keith eleven wins guaranteed. He also made
a bit of a one hundred dollars with me, so

(19:50):
he he he wants that really bad, and I get it.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
They have to go four and three right now, seven
and five seven seven four the math math fourteen.

Speaker 6 (20:03):
But nonetheless, Keith is all in and is confident the
Seahawks will win eleven or more games this season. Which
is still up to be up for question. So we'll
see what happens as the season progresses. Let's see, mister
bail two five to three. Does the NFL require players
get flu shots?

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Strongly encouraged, not required.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
But the players last week went scattered because they had
a mini by and I thought more were gonna come
back sick than they did. Maybe they'll still end up sick,
but ten, when you go out and just wherever for
three days, you tend to get guys coming back bringing
back stuff. But Kenneth Walker was the only one yesterday

(20:47):
noticeably affected by that anyway.

Speaker 6 (20:49):
From the two six shout out to Devin Witherspoon with
the hustle block on the scoop and score, you can't
coach that want to you gotta love to see it.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
But four two five agrees with you regarding what Greg
always gives off his smugness, like his opinion is the
only one that matters. I don't know how that perception
is in my opinion Chris's opinion. Anyway, Darrell had an
awesome debut and he can build off that. But if
he's the only option, put him out there. But I
don't want him to go out there and get schooled

(21:22):
by von Miller for three sacks and lose all his confidence.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
It's football. You get beats sometimes it's okay. Hell, you
saw what happened to Kobe He got ran over. Did
that stop him?

Speaker 4 (21:32):
No?

Speaker 5 (21:32):
He still was out there making plays learning from that.

Speaker 6 (21:35):
It's football. Both things are going to happen. This is
from the six ' to three.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Oh.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
I don't know where the hell that is? Greg any idea.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Three six six ' three?

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (21:44):
Oh No, I don't no worries.

Speaker 6 (21:47):
Hey, Greg, don't listen to that guy sitting next to you.
You tell him we're tired of seeing the same old
crap out of this offensive line. This is the same
guy that has been trying to tell us that Jamal
Adams was good for the last two seasons.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Is that true? I was more so.

Speaker 6 (22:03):
Defending when healthy. I think he's fine. He's not amazing
and coverage noted. But we'll go back to his first
game with the Seahawks against Atlanta Falcons. That's what Jamal
a healthy Jamal Adams can do. Be a game wrecker
in the run game and a great pass rusher when
you need him. That's all his that's his game. That's
his strength.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
They blitzed the heck out of him that first game.

Speaker 6 (22:25):
Yeah, and he was he was great. That's what they
needed from him. And then he got hurt and you
never saw that again. And that's fair West Chicago suburb,
John Radigan's hometown. Okay, so I'm sure you have seen it.
But for those that don't know, Chargers versus Arizona is
only streaming on ESPN Plus.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
So Greg, he ain't even gotta worry about that.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
I wasn't going to anybody, anybody, anybody who watches that.
Also watched Patriots Jaguars at six thirty in the morning
from London yesterday, just because somebody texted last week's saying
it's the NFL, Come on, so what. Just because it's
the fun doesn't mean you have to watch it, doesn't
mean it's quality. It was a decent game, though, Greg.
I saw it the third quarter and I said, Wow,
this is actually not bad. Fortune five brings up a

(23:10):
good point. Gino's mobility is saving the opposite offense. He
sidestepped the rush and flipped the ball to Walker on
that TV, That's exactly what he did. He sidestepped a
rush and threw a dart to metcalf on the other
touchdown pass as well. He did that time and again yesterday.
Of all the great things Gino Smith has been doing
this season, his movement in the pocket is the number
one thing. Hugh Millan has talked about that quite a bit,

(23:33):
and I can count many times a half dozen yesterday.
Half doesn't almost every game then he avoids sacks and
actually makes completions.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Out of a bad pocket. Dirty pocket is what Hugh
Millin keeps calling it. Fair enough.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
I think it's that time, Greg.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Factor fiction. Maybe yeah, we already you're there.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
Your chance to win one thousand dollars from the Emerald
Queen Casino is right now for set to go glad
with us.

Speaker 8 (24:00):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars Grand think you're Backdoor Fiction, balk to
you by the Emerald, Queen Casinodon the Northwest, make the
beautiful new week you see sports Bookie your home all
football season long. Fact Door Fiction is on Sports Radio

(24:21):
ninety three point three kJ R FM.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Chris thinks he knows where I'm going with this. He's
probably right. Army's off this year. I got it right,
Armies off. They have a bye week.

Speaker 5 (24:37):
Oh, never mind, didn't get it right.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Okay, so that's that. So Army's not playing. They have
a bye week.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Their next game is against Air Force, a Commander in
Chief Trophy game on November sixth at West Point. But
guess who is playing Navy twenty fourth rank Navy twelfth
rank Notre Dame at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands, nine
am on Saturday. It's the ABC Early Window featured game.
Sean McDonald's going to be there on the call. Navy's

(25:06):
trying to go to seven and Oh. For the first
time since nineteen seventy eight, people were kind of forgetting
about Notre Dame. Went down ahead the Texas A and
M game. That's about the last time I remember anyone
thinking about Notre Dame. That was back in August thirty.
First they lost in Northern Illinois, who ran the ball
all over up and down South Bend that day, And

(25:28):
ever since they lost in Northern iill OOI, everyone's kind
of forgot about Notre Dame. And some people say, well,
Northern Illinois runs the ball a lot. Navy runs the
ball a lot. This could be a bad matchup for them. No, way,
no how, and anyone who knows me knows I'm not
picking Navy. Forget about that.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Eleven and a half points.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
Notre Dame is favored by Navy and the meadowlands on Saturday.
Give me all that more Notre Dame minus eleven and
a half to end this Navy unbeaten streak and put
the midshipman and the squids back where they belong. Notre
Dame minus eleven and a half over Navy on Saturday.
If you agree with me, tex fact to four nine,
four to five one. If you're a Naval Academy graduate,
been in the Navy, been in the Marines, you're probably

(26:05):
gonna text fiction to four nine four or five one,
and then I can flag you and know exactly which
side of the ayel you.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Stand on for the Army Navy game in December. That's
fine to Day minus eleven and a half over Navy
on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
That means that if you agree with me that you
think Notre Dame is gonna win that game by twelve
or more points, text fact to four nine four five one.
If you think Navy keeps it close or Heaven forbid wins,
text fiction to four nine four or five one. You
have eleven minutes from right now twelve total, but eleven
minutes from right now to text in. If you miss
this opportunity or past, your next chance to play will

(26:40):
be at two thirty five pm, as it is every
day with Ian furness Er three thirty five with Dave
Softy Maller in Dick Fame. So how it works, is
you miss it or new or whatever, you can just
parachute in out of the sky from Mars and still
win one thousand dollars by just picking right one time.
Anyone who's entered the contest and is correct once a week, anytime,

(27:02):
no matter how many times you get thrown into a hat,
and we draw a winner out of all the winners
from the previous week. That winner gets a thousand dollars
from the Emeral Queen Casino betting capital of the Northwest.
The beauty of entering multiple times a week is the person.
At the end of this contest by mid December, the
person who wins the most gets ten thousand dollars large

(27:24):
the grand prize from the Emerald between Casino the grand
prize of fact or fiction maybe minus eleven sorry forget that.
Never I'm never gonna say maybe about anything. Notre Dame
minus eleven and a half over Navy.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
That's my pick.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
If you agree with me, text factor four nine four
or five one. If you disagree, text fiction the four
nine four to five one. Yeah, you're right, Chris. It
would have been an army. But they're not playing. No,
I'm not taking then them or anyone this week. There
it is there, It is undefeated, Nate. This is long enough.
The Navy's been undefeated. We can't have this anymore.

Speaker 6 (27:58):
The Hey, I'm all in a lot of listeners are
with you? Sixty plus percent are going fact sixty have
a lot of Navy people. Yeah, you kind of threw
that out there. If you're a Navy are probably just
gonna go.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (28:11):
It's okay, Greg, You're off to a good start again.
Your pick is Notre Dame minus eleven and a half
at Navy. So it should be a fun one. We're
playing at the Meadowlands and you strut through New Jersey.
So where are we in the standings?

Speaker 2 (28:25):
That hasn't been updated yet. Okay, what do we have
a three and two weeks?

Speaker 6 (28:30):
Well, greg Or, mister the mayor, he threw up a
number one. So we're doing okay, we're number one right now.
We had a we had a solid week. Thanks and okay,
so let me let me recast this. If you want
to win one thousand dollars, text fact to four nine,
four or five one. If you just want to blow
your time and waste a chance of one thousand dollars,
test fiction to four nine, four or five one.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
They have about nine minutes to do that up next.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Ian for Nass back in the studios in Seattle, Greg
Bell in Atlanta as the Greg Belt Show with Christopher
good Rolls on on ninety three point three kJ RFM. Hi,
welcome back Greg Bell in Atlanta. Christopher Kid back at
Elliott Bay Studios in Seattle with Ian Furness, whose show

(29:14):
comes up twelve to three as it is every day.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Hello Ian, Hello, good morning. I see that you are
at twelve twenty.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
Gonna pay tribute to the late great Chone even Trela, Yeah,
at eighty years old yesterday of cancer. I saw him
about a month ago, a longtime television sports anchor here
in Seattle, and I was really glad I did. He
had lost a lot of weight, and yeah, obviously wasn't
at his best, but it was great to see him.

Speaker 9 (29:42):
He was a training camp one day. I think it
was the least time I saw him, and he came
up and said hi, And I'll be honest with you,
for a second, didn't recognize him so because he was
so sick at that point. But yeah, good dude, And
I've been lucky enough I knew him. He worked with
my dad, cole Ma Mo when he first got to
this market. So I I met him when I was

(30:03):
probably man, I don't know, seven eight years old maybe
something like that.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (30:07):
And yeah, so we're gonna the two guys I've got
on today, Bill Rocky and Dave Reese were his producers,
like Creig King and Cairo and and to be honest
with you, the guys that really kind of made Tony
Tony in a lot of ways because the sports producers
back then when we had five minute sports casts at

(30:29):
eleven and sports cast at five, five, six, six thirty
and eleven, they were all three four, five, five o'clock
sports cast. I mean you there was that's that's a lot.
That's like double what you see now on TV. So
Bill and and Dave were great, you know who his
other producer was maybe maybe people probably don't know this
is late Dorry Monson as well.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 9 (30:50):
Dory was a sports producer with Rock over at King
and Dave was at Cairo with Wayne Cody, and then
then Bill and and uh Bill and and Tony went
to Kyro and that was the glory days of We
had some incredible sports casters in our market in Wayne Cody,
Bruce King and Tony and now unfortunately they're all gone.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
Great on you for acknowledging and honoring him and having
them on at twelve twenty, and that's great.

Speaker 9 (31:16):
Yeah, I think we have some fun stories, you know,
I think getting but you know, I know some of
our younger listeners, you know guys you know Chris's age,
Andrews age, stuff like that, maybe don't remember those days.
They were too young. But for many people probably thirty
five and older. And I know that's a lot of
big chunk of our audience. That's that's how we got
our sports. We watched it. It was really back then.

(31:36):
It was the SEATTLEPI in the morning, the Seattle Times
in the afternoon. It was an afternoon paper, right, and
then then the Three King Cairo and Como, the Three
Sports cast with those three guys. That's that's how you
got your sports. Back then, ESPN existed for you know,
it was in existence, but they didn't care about anything
that had to do with the West Coast and it

(31:59):
was all about the those guys in those two newspapers.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
And so.

Speaker 9 (32:03):
Yeah, we're gonna share some stories and uh and pay
tribute to Tony and and the other two guys probably
as well with Bruce and Wayne. So yeah, I'm excited
for this. Its great. She should be a fun conversation
with those guys for sure.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
So yeah, that is that is great. Good for you
for that.

Speaker 9 (32:16):
Yeah, Yeah, how's how's at l how's Hotlanta treating?

Speaker 10 (32:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Man, the weather's perfect, I mean yeah, seventy five degrees.

Speaker 4 (32:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Kamala Harris being next door to the Seahawks team hotel
this weekend was interesting, all good fun. It was absolutely
locked down and he couldn't get in and out of it.
I highlight of my weekend was I got to see
Tamer Keith. And and those of you that listen to
NPR radio know who Tamar Keith is. She's a white
senior White House correspondent for NPR. She's covered I think

(32:45):
four administrations. Now she's my classmate from Kyle Berkeley's journalism school. Well,
we've stayed, We've stayed friends throughout. I always tell her
when I grew up, I want to be tamer Keith.
I just admire the hell out of her job. And
now she raises two kids and has a husband while
she's all over the world traveling, and I force one
and everything else.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
But to see her. They stayed.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
Kamala Harris was staying at the hotel the Seahawks were
at in twenty twenty, the last time they had been
in Atlanta, and it was locked down and you could
only walk on some side of the streets. They Atlanta
Police Department. I have so many agencies, the Secret Service,
the state Police, the sheriff, and sanitation trucks were blocking

(33:24):
the streets. You can only park walk on one side
of the street. And I had to walk all the
way around the perimeter. But Tameras says, come on over you,
I'm in the bar sourcing, come on over, say hi.
And I had to go through metal detectors and they
wanted to know why I was walking on a certain
side of the street and can you go to the
other side sir, and the Secret Service stopped me and.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
I said, damn, it's not easy to come see you. Yeah,
I forget the production that goes on outside.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
And what was amazing to me is that then she
packed up, everyone packed up. They left yesterday at eight
thirty in the morning. They went to church. They did
a Soul to the Polls event Kamala Harris did, and
then they flew to Philadelphia and did it all over again.
And then Philadelphia was going to be blockaded and cops
and staying all day at night and you know what
I mean, they do it every day.

Speaker 9 (34:09):
Yeah, a couple yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (34:12):
Well I'm I'd say I was jealous, but uh yeah,
I'm good. I'm good being here. Did I hear Chris
Francis was still in Atlanta.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
He's on his way out right now. I gotta run
this show. But yeah, he's still tell you how TV goes.

Speaker 9 (34:28):
The last four or five years, I did it, especially
when I was on a solo show.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
You and I are in many seven am flights like
that's the Yeah, I'm.

Speaker 9 (34:37):
Just those guys are slacking it fine nowadays, man, they
are slacking Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
He's at the airport, he's got like a four or
five o'clock flighters.

Speaker 9 (34:43):
Yeah, he's having a couple of cocktails, having some lunch.
Had a slack city man TV world.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Man, you know how it is.

Speaker 9 (34:50):
I know it's such a slack world. They did nothing.
Those guys don't do anything.

Speaker 10 (34:53):
Man, decide you're tripping to Tony Van Trama. What else
humel in hardcore football? Coming up at one o'clock today,
we'll break down yesterday's huge It does a damn big win. Man,
that was a big win for these guys.

Speaker 9 (35:07):
We'll talk about that, certainly the last drive of the
first half, which was critical.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Yeah, swung the game.

Speaker 9 (35:11):
Yeah, we'll bring that that. We'll break that down, and
then we'll Jacko and Mike Santos. Week we visit coming
up at one o'clock Factor Fiction.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
We had a good week.

Speaker 9 (35:20):
We could have the same good week. You guys were
four and one, I believe.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
I think the only miss was over under on the
Seahawks game. Yeah, three points.

Speaker 9 (35:27):
We're three and one, but Anders screwed up. The guy
that runs the contest, he took one of the two
Monday night games. So if he wins that tonight, then
we're four and one as well. You know who was
owing five.

Speaker 5 (35:38):
Yes, the afternoon show.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
It's weird.

Speaker 9 (35:43):
Had a lot of big talk coming out of that
afternoon show for only five.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Huskies don't play and they're just a drift.

Speaker 9 (35:49):
You know, it's close to Owen five twelve.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
Wow, well done, May Wow done right here on the
Home of the Huskies ninety three point three.

Speaker 9 (35:59):
J I kind of need them cogar oscugar fans kind
of need those guys to win some games.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
I know people are saying that about me picking against
Navy this week. Uh, I'm just you guys. Who ever
pick you, guys.

Speaker 9 (36:09):
Still go ahead to head. I don't want them ever
to win, but the bonus is if they do win,
it does help us. I don't know if it'll help
us enough, but yeah, good times, good times all the
way around. So yeah, we got busy show coming up today.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Gotta we look forward to that. We'll be listening from
twelve to three. Thanks.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
In two thirty five is the next chance for factor
fiction with the infness Ours just ended Notre Dame minus
eleven and a half over Navy book it. Thanks for
listening from Atlanta. I'm gonna go step on a plane
and short little hop home to the West Coast. It
should take like six hours or so. I'll be back
in Seattle with Chris tomorrow. Christopher Kid back in the studios.

(36:45):
Thank you and thanks for listening. We'll be back on
the air today and to noon tomorrow. The Inferness is
up next on ninety three point three kJ RFM.
