Speaker 1 (00:01):
Al Guys, Episode six of the Intrepid Golden Podcast. I
just got out of the gym. It is nine thirty
nine at night, and boy, am I am. I excited.
I just wanted to say that I got here this
morning at five am. I did a bunch of stuff whatever,

(00:21):
coached all day. But I get to do this. It
is so exciting that I get to do this. It
is awesome. Like leaving the gym, I just talked to
somebody that was driving around randomly, and I get to
tell them about my gym. I get to do it.
I get to tell them about the passion my life.
This is my life, life's work, right, So, like, you know,

(00:44):
I'm slowly putting the chairs out. I'm like, man, this
is awesome setting up for the weightlifting meet that we're
having tomorrow. It is like, this is my dream come true.
I started, you know, twenty ten, very small towland square feet,
and like I just had a moment of like, wow,
I get to do this. I've never thought I was

(01:05):
going to be here in this position and where I
am today when I started. You know, like the trials
and tribulations you go through as a business owner or
entrepreneur or whatever you want to call it. Are they're tough.
They're super tough. So getting getting to or getting to
do this or it's just amazing to me. I just

(01:27):
like just like, oh, this is you know, like you're
a little tired a little of this. It's like, I
get to do this, this is awesome. This allows me
to do a lot of things in my life that
I wouldn't necessarily get to do. Traveling to weightlifting meets
and various other things, meeting new people, networking, learning, it's
a never ending, uh journey on learning. You know, someone

(01:49):
asked you a question, you got to figure it out.
Or if you're if you don't know it right, you
got to figure it out. You gotta dig deep and
kind of like what's going on with this person's knee
or whatever. So you get to do all this fun stuff.
You know, there's people out there that don't want to
go to their jobs, that hate their jobs. There's a
drag and this, that and the other thing. Like I

(02:10):
love coming to the gym. Like you want to know
where I'm at, I'm probably at the gym. You want
to know what's going on, come find me at the gym.
I'm usually there. It's like, you know, like people are like, oh,
they need your life needs a balance of things. I'm like,
I don't know if it does. Like you know, I
I went one way. I drank a fucked ton of

(02:32):
alcohol and that wasn't really a balance, but I still
was at the gym all the time. So like, I
don't know. I think I think we have our things,
we do our things, whatever it may be. I think
getting to do something that you love is the best
thing in the world. Kind of just hit me this tonight.
I've had this conversation with myself a lot, like, man,

(02:54):
I get to do this, you know, even when it's
like you're down in the dumps because something happened. You know,
there's multiple multitude of things that go on inside a
gym or inside a business that you know, not every
day that people get to see or hear. So like,
there's things that go on they make you down in

(03:16):
the dumps, but man, you get to come in here
and change people's lives. Like every day, every day I
can make an impact on somebody's life. And that's kind
of why I started. I wanted to help people, and
I get to do that every day of my life.
So the kids that are gonna come tomorrow, they're gonna
have a great time. They're gonna hit prs and hit

(03:38):
big lifts and do things they never thought possible. And
opening my gym twenty ten has now facilitated those kids
to be here. They probably some of these kids where
I weren't even born when before this it's gonna be
you know, Like it's kind of like crazy to think
about been open for fifteen years and the lives that

(04:00):
come in and have changed, and people have lost weight,
you know, done things felt better, healed injuries, healed themselves,
all this stuff, Like it's just awesome. I get to
do this every day of my life. It's like like
I said, sometimes it's a drag, but it's man. You
get to do something you're passionate about. If you guys

(04:23):
can do that or find a way to do that,
it is unreal. It makes life so much better. Like
it is awesome. I don't like I just was sitting
there like literally it's like nine forty five at night,
sitting there thinking about it, like, wow, I get to
do this. I'm taking pictures of like setting up a

(04:43):
platform and all that, like not something I necessarily love doing.
But I love doing it for what it's gonna be.
Tomorrow is gonna be awesome. There's gonna be a ton
of people there, a bunch of athletes. I think we
have like twelve athletes competing, which is unreal awesome to
see kids getting out there pushing their limits, you know,
not doing the everyday sport whether all their friends are doing.

(05:05):
They're doing different things. They're doing weightlifting. That's not the
easiest sport. It's pretty freaking hard if you haven't done
it already. So they're stepping out of their comfort zone.
They're trying to qualify for nationals seeing that it's gonna
be awesome. Their parents, their grandparents, people are gonna be
super excited to see them. It's gonna be an awesome day.
And I just set up the whole thing for it.

(05:27):
It's awesome. It is so awesome to be an entrepreneur.
Like guys, I don't know, like like if you could
have a chance to do something that you're super passionate
about and drive that passion, like, don't would necessarily like
think of money or this, that or the other thing.
Think of the passion, Like think of like what you're
doing and why you're doing it. Why, like why you

(05:48):
want to do it and do it for the right
reasons for the right people too, you know, there's it's
so awesome. Oh man, I'm just like I just had
a great little conversation, Like I said, this person pulled
up and it's like like, yeah, I get to do this.
This is awesome. Like I'm not at a dragging job

(06:09):
where I'm driving around or whatever it is, or like
unlocking I was a federal corrections officer for three years.
That was the worst thing in the world. Unlocking and
locking doors of inmates have been there since I was
a kid, since I was before I was born nineteen eighty,
you know, like they've been there in locked up for
forty years. That's crazy, you know, like dealing with the
same people over and over and over and over again. Yeah,

(06:33):
I just you know, the guys, if you ever have
an opportunity to chase your passion, chase what you that
like sets your fire up or sets your soul on fire, man,
go ahead and do it. This is this is my thing.
I absolutely love owning the gym. Whether you know, the
good days or bad days, whatever it is, I still
get to do this and it's awesome, so I just

(06:56):
want to put that out. This is episode six of
the Intrepid Golden podcast. If you like this, share it
with your friends, tell them about it, and that's it.
Have a great night. Bye,
